San Agustin

San Agustín is a sleepy beach district on a sheltered bay popular for diving and snorkeling. The Paseo Costa Canaria promenade stretches all the way to the Playa del Inglés. Restaurants with terraces overlooking the Atlantic serve shellfish, while marketlike food stalls are dotted around mainstream shopping centers. Local nightlife mixes casual beach bars with stylish discos and hotel cocktail lounges.

Restaurant
Nestled within the stunning Gloria Palace San Agustin hotel, Gorbea Chill Out & Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that perfectly complements your holiday in Gran Canaria. This Mediterranean and European eatery is known for its exceptional tasting menu, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or special occasion. While the ambiance is inviting and perfect for relaxation, it's worth noting that service may be a tad slow at times. To ensure you secure a table at this popular destination, consider making reservations ahead of time.
Wonderful experience spending an afternoon and celebrating a birthday! Our reservation had some info missing, but staff quickly fixed the situation. We went to the restaurant around six and we saw the sunset develop over the night. The staff was excellent: fun and knew their menu, had good recommendations, were thoughtful and so on. The food was a pleasant surprise, everything was really good and portions had good sizes (especially the huge steal in the picture). All in all, we had an excellent experience. And as a bonus, the dinner was relatively cheap for hotel residents. Definitely recommended!

Absolutely amazing place in San Agustin. Located in the roof top of Gloria Palace San Agustin! Fantastic view! You can see even Maspalomas dunes. Great food and service! Definitely we will go back.

This is WOOW! 💯🔝Very nice place, must visit on the Bucket list!!! Very good mood and delicious food. Nice place and very kind staff Very good report of quality and price Elegant and clean place Recommend must to visit, must to try: beef tartare, shrimps, grilled beef, desserts and smoothies (the greenest is the best) One of the staff is a Romanian guy (Adrian) who was very polite and kind with us! He is a truly profesionist guy. I will definitely come back here to eat!!

Gorbea Restaurant Chill Out is such a gem in San Agustín. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, with the most beautiful views that make dining here feel really special. The food is delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented, and the staff make you feel so welcome from start to finish. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy great food, and take in the amazing surroundings. A truly unforgettable experience.I can’t wait to come back!

The restaurant and the view are amazing. The wine suggestion was very good as well as the iberico ham as a starter. The tenderloin meat was very good but the sauce was without much taste and the vegetables were overcooked and had lost all color, probably because of reheating or keeping warm over some amount of time. The fish with a pink pepper sauce and vegetables were all not seasoned and had not much taste. The vegetables were overcooked and had a grey color to them. The sauce was just not enjoyable.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The star would go towards the view as that is the only good thing about the place. As for the food - the most bland meal I have ever eaten. I have had better frozen meals. However, I was still prepared to pay full price. That is until the tall skinny waitress with glasses asked me how the food was - I gave her my honest opinion and she hit the roof. She proceeded to slam plates, doors, and talk about me in Spanish to other customers. This is absolutely disgraceful service. It was already slow and lacking attentiveness. But this lady needs her job revoked - she has serious anger issues to the point even the manager could not control her. I’m disgusted. Do not waste your time going.

We had a very nice evening in Gorbea. The food was delicious, the service by Judit, Andrea and Adrian super friendly and very attentive. The location on top of the Gloria Palace Hotel is very nice and offers great views. Highly recommend!

we’ve come up here for some chill time away from the hustle of the pool downstairs and it is beautiful. the lovely waitress, Isabel, made the most GORGEOUS tasting cocktails for us, has made us feel welcomed and relaxed, and her kindness is positively overwhelming. the pool up here is so warm and relaxing, a very intimate experience for people wanting some quiet time. highly recommend to anyone in the area, and a huge thank you to Isabel for being a star 🌟

Pizza restaurant
ADDIO MARE San Agustin is a popular restaurant and pizzeria located in a shopping center. It offers a variety of dining options, including Tex Mex and Barbacoa pizzas. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance with ocean views and friendly staff. Customers can enjoy well-prepared dishes in a clean and quiet environment. The place is known for its fast service, making it an ideal choice for visitors looking for a satisfying dining experience while in San Agustin.
T-bone was meadium, good performance in kitchen, seviche was to watery and too much chilies. Should be done with more mango to balance sourness. Service took too much time...about 1h for food.

I don’t recommend it. The place is extremely crowded, and this comes at the expense of the food quality. At least 40-60minutes waiting time. We tried three dishes: as a starter, we had a seafood salad, of which 90% was iceberg lettuce and tomato, with barely any seafood in it. The seafood pasta was overcooked, the pasta almost fell apart. The grilled squid was very dry and tasteless. The only positive thing was the atmosphere of the place. Overall, this place was a disappointment for us.

We were looking for dinner outside our all-inclusive deal so we wandered through town. After just a few minutes they got us a table inside, which was good because outside it was a bit windy and the place very crowded which is a good sign. We got the share platter with local meat and cheese. The wine we’ve chosen was sold out but they came up with a nice alternative. As main course we ordered the salmon and tuna steak. The food was good, hot and tasty. Service is very busy but yet attentive and welcoming. Although we had no reservation we accepted to wait, which was just a few minutes. Other people just streamed through the entry and set themselves which we consider rude so the staff was overwhelmed with welcoming them accurately, if you read reviwes about them complaining it is probably due to their own behavior. Overall a nice experience and we’d be happy to come back to taste the pizza outside with the view (on reservation of course)..

Nice and quiet place, we have booked by groupon for dinner: one bottle of good red wine, one delicious garlick bread with cheese, one pizza and a very tasty marinated meat with fried potatoes. At least two desserts. I suggest especially the meat, which was a good surprise!

Had two brilliant meals here Christmas eve and Christmas day , the staff are brilliant food is wonderful Both times sat in a little corner surrounded with plants feeling like we were in a garden Luigi and the other gentleman (possibly owner or manager ) were very attentive on our service If I go back to gran canaria this resturant will be a certain stop off

Delicious meal and attentive staff. Our first visit but were treated like old friends by the staff, so welcoming! Amazing value for money and quality produce. So much so that we will be returning tomorrow but this time for the steaks which looked fantastic.

We got here "early" around 7.30pm. The place was fairly quiet so we were able to get a table closest to the sea view (ignore the apartments) We were not rushed for our order which was nice. We chose a bottle of Rioja €13, they don't serve large bottles of water so we had to take 2 500ml ones €1.85 each. We shared a Greek salad €8.90 and garlic bread €1.90, both opting for the BBQ combo (¼ chicken, 3 wings, 1 sausage, ¼ ribs, skinny fries and coleslaw) €15.90. The salad was plenty for us to share, the garlic bread was nice but would be better if sliced thinner. The combo was tasty and very filling. The service was good for the most part, the wine waiter was a bit lack lustre. I'm not sure where the music comes from but we heard more than 4 songs played twice within the 1st hour. It's a place to visit if you're in the area but not to travel for if there is a grill nearer.

We went here straight after the restaurant opened, the place was really nicely decoraded and overlooked the ocean. We are allowed to choose where we would like to sit and got the menu straight away. We ordered a starter and a main since we never managed to eat two whole mains. Some people don't like that cause they think you're being cheap but they were absolutely happy with our choice and brought out both together. The pizza was fantastic, my girlfriend is still talking about the dough. The tapas plate wasn't exactly what we like, but to be fair, it had everything on it, which was said on the menu, so our bad choice of ordering. The only downpoint where the works being done outside the restaurant which caused some noise and the second waiter which we asked for two espressos which never arrived. The price was absolutly finde and the amount of food we received even though we didn't like some of it was great. We would definitly recommend this place.

Spanish restaurant
Restaurante El Capitán is a must-visit for those craving Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its fresh Atlantic seafood served right by the shore, providing stunning beach views through panoramic windows or on the terrace with the refreshing sea breeze. Visitors praise the friendly staff and recommend trying locally sourced steak at an affordable price while enjoying amazing sea views from the garden. It's definitely worth checking out when visiting Gran Canaria!
The El Capitán restaurant exceeded all our expectations! The food was amazing, especially the fish — fresh, tender, and incredibly delicious. The service was outstanding: the staff was attentive, friendly, and professional, making our visit even more enjoyable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. We were absolutely delighted and will definitely come back again. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality food and excellent service! 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My preconception, based on appearance, told me this would be slightly better than a beach bar. I was wrong again. My distant memory recalled this place as The Texas Grill, where I dined as a 12 year old in 1988. But where has La Rotunda gone? Ah yes, I found the remains outside in the car park. This time we dined at El Capitan as a family of five. We all had different dishes, which we really enjoyed. The service was great and food arrived in good time. The food here is impressive and we highly recommend a sitting. The food is good value and freshly made.

We had an early dinner and even though the restaurant wasn't crowded the staff was running around and there was a very tense atmosphere our table was served by two waiters one took the order and brought me a drink and my husband had to wait for a beer for another 20 minutes, very chaotic way of service. We ordered a burger with cheese and it was not the same as in the picture, the cheese oven not melted it was like from microwave, I ordered a seafood soup and a rotisserie chicken which had a very strange smell. The waiter said the chicken would come with rice and salad but it came with rice and fries for some unknown reason. In general the menu is very large and plentiful so I wouldn't count on 100% freshness of the dishes because the menu is so large. I didn't pay for the chicken because I simply didn't eat it. plus for the staff let me taste the soup of the day so I could see what I wanted

We where recommended to visit this restaurant. They have fresh fish, different tipycal spanish dishes and meats. As there are many english turist, they have disges on there tastes as well as for nothen countries turist. The tipycal canarian porc rib was delicios, as well as as the fresh fish we order. Well all the diahes where very tasty. Sometimes you like something but you don’t like all the food, in which his case everything was very delicios. There where not too many peolple so had the opportunity to stay in a quiet atmosphere. We did enjoy, so I recommend.

Excellent restaurant serving a multitude of local dishes in a great atmosphere. It's often busy, and service can sometimes be slow. Mid-priced. Highly recommended. I've been going there for 15 years.

We were really looking forward to to this but the experience was not good. We booked the day before as in Spain Sunday are alway busy. We arrived at 1.00pm as booked but the table was not available so we had a drink at the bar. 30mins later we ordered our meal - starters turned up quickly and a bottle of wine. We needed a chiller but that took ages. Our wine warmed up. Eventually a cooler arrived. Our main course took 2 hours to arrive. We we told the kitchen was busy. When it arrived it was over cooked - we we complained we were made to feel like it was our fault - terrible arrogant service by the German / Dutch head waiter. Not going back which is a real shame as the place is nicely located

Waitress was really helpful and professional. Location is great. However, food was disappointing. Pork chops were raw and scallops were tasting like old oil which took over all the flavor, even garlic tasted like old burned oil.

Escape to the authentic flavors of the Mediterranean at Greek Taverna, located within the San Agustin Shopping Center. Despite its unassuming exterior, once inside, you'll be transported to a world of delectable Greek cuisine. Indulge in the meze taverna, a delightful assortment of starters handpicked by the chef. The attentive and friendly staff go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience, accommodating special requests with grace.
Brilliant find, food was fresh and so tasty. Atmosphere was lovely and staff were very helpful with food recommendations.. house red wine was lovely. Very reasonable for starters main and bottle of wine

Loved it!!! We tried to reserve a table online and it appeared as fully booked. Then called the venue and there were plenty of tables available. Online info is misleading. Just give them a call if you want to reserve a table. 😉The food, service and environment was just great! ❤️

Our meal was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was wonderfully friendly. We enjoyed everything so much that we even forgot to snap a photo of the Greek salad we ordered—we ate it all up too quickly!

Nice selection of Greek dishes, good selection of Greek wines fairly priced. Went with the family on a week day and they accommodated a table for us without reservation. Recommended

Hands down, our favorite Greek restaurant in Gran Canaria... and possibly the whole of Europe! Every bite is pure bliss, especially the out-of-this-world Galaktoboureko. We can't wait to indulge again.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming area of San Agustin, "IL Vespino Vecchio" is a delightful Italian restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its enchanting ambiance featuring a spacious garden and a traditional stone oven imported from Italy, this eatery specializes in crafting authentic Neapolitan pizzas that are simply divine. The menu extends beyond pizza to include beautifully presented dishes, all made with high-quality ingredients.
Il Vespino Vecchio is a true gem in Maspalomas and probably one of the best Italian restaurants on Gran Canaria! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed—the atmosphere is elegant and inviting. The food was outstanding across the board: the appetizers were full of flavor, the spaghetti cooked to absolute al dente perfection, and the wine pairing complemented everything beautifully. The waiters are charming and warm, though they could have been a bit more attentive when it came to refilling our wine glasses—we had to do it ourselves, which wasn’t a big deal but would have added to the experience. Overall, a fantastic fine dining experience that we highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back!

All the food we had here was great, but the pastas were spectacular we had to come back two more times! I personally loved the ravioli stuffed with sea bass and prawns—the sauce was amazing. But all the other pastas we tried were excellent too. The staff were also very friendly and professional, which made us feel truly welcome. If the restaurant weren’t closed on Mondays and we didn’t have to leave on Tuesday, we would definitely come back again!!

Visited this amazing restaurant while on holiday. It was the best meal we have had this year. All three courses were delicious. The octopus starter was the best we have ever tasted, and we have tried a lot all over Europe. Staff were all friendly and professional. Would highly recommend.

Lovely Italian restaurant, great food and lovely staff, we all had pizza, definitely check this place out you won't be disappointed
David W — Google review
A delight! Food is of high quality, very delicious and the prices are absolutely fair. We especially enjoyed the good service. Just made us feel welcome there. Worth to mention is that there is a healthy distance between the tables, so that guests do have a bit of privacy. Really appreciated this detail though. The pizza is hands down of the best we ever had. Also the pasta we can highly recommend - fresh seafood, superb quality. Don't even let me start with the tiramisu... Just.try.it and thank me later. Just so much: After a full meal, you might want to share this one. ^^ In all honesty, if you are in this area and if you are in the mood for Italian food, we highly recommend this place.

Wild boar ragout and the gnocchi are both delicious meals. A bottle of their own red wine went down a treat. Just had room for a tiramisu to share. Perhaps the best meal so far in Gran Canaria!

Fairly good restaurant but the service level was low. Pizzas is okey and the pastas was just below okey
