Historical landmark
Vegueta, a historic district in Gran Canaria, is home to a museum that showcases a permanent collection dedicated to the island's aboriginal population, the Canarii. The museum's extensive collection includes various materials from Gran Canaria and other Canary Islands, such as ceramic containers, terracotta figurines like the Idol of Tara, and over 200 pintaderas.
Historic old town. Stunning cathedral. Friendly people. Nice little coffee shops nearby. Decent number of car parks within 10 mins walk of centre.
Clare M — Google review
Vegueta is a beautiful and atmospheric part of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. As the island’s historic district, it offers a glimpse into the past with its charming narrow streets, traditional Canarian architecture, and peaceful ambiance. The main square is lovely and inviting, perfect for a relaxing stroll or a coffee at one of the nearby cafés. The impressive Cathedral dominates the area with its stunning façade and peaceful interior. Wandering through the small cobblestone streets feels like stepping back in time, every corner has its own story. If you're visiting Gran Canaria, Vegueta is definitely worth a visit!
Robean W — Google review
Very beautiful place with lovely spanish buildings. Very suitable for tourists. Around the area there is a cathedral, many cafes, and an avinida (shopping road). Definitely recommend to go to Christopher colombus house located at calle colon. Has very beautiful history, maps, ship models and the house itself is wonderful.
Saeed M — Google review
My favourite part of Las Palmas is this: the Old Town. I love it. The architecture, the streets, the greenery, the restaurants & the shops are amazing 🤩 I could now get enough of it and after multiple visits, you can still find hidden gems and be surprised at every corner.
Cornelia C — Google review
Vegueta is the oldest part of the city, founded in 1478. The district is characterised by its well-preserved colonial architecture, with buildings dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Many buildings feature vibrant colours and traditional Canarian wooden balconiesIt is also home to several important landmarks, including the Catedral de Santa Ana, Casa de Colón, and Plaza del Pilar Nuevo.
Ahmad — Google review
Good old town in Las Palmas ... Visited st.anns church is located in prime location and the streets and architect are very unique..
Fidelis S — Google review
Very interesting part of Las Palmas a lot quieter with lovely architectural buildings and interesting museums to visit.
-- — Google review
Vegueta, the historic heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a must-visit for history lovers and culture seekers. With its cobbled streets, colonial-era buildings, and lively atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to wander and soak in the island’s past. One of its highlights is Casa de Colón, a stunning mansion linked to Christopher Columbus. The Santa Ana Cathedral and its picturesque plaza are also nearby. As you explore, you’ll notice beautiful wooden balconies, cozy cafés, and vibrant tapas bars. For a taste of local life, check out Mercado de Vegueta for fresh produce and Canarian treats. If you’re there on a Thursday, don’t miss Tapas Night, when bars serve delicious small plates with local wine or beer. Vegueta blends history, culture, and great food, making it one of Gran Canaria’s most charming spots.

Museums
Casa de Colón, located in Las Palmas, is a former governor's house that has been transformed into a museum dedicated to the voyages of Christopher Columbus and ship life. The building itself is an architectural gem, featuring ornate decorations, latticework balconies, spacious courtyards, and intricately carved wooden ceilings that showcase the island's architecture. It is believed that Columbus resided here in 1492 while one of his ships was being repaired.
Very beautiful experience. Place is well organised and almost no wait. There is a shop at the exit. You can spend around 1 hour and enjoy. There is free bathrooms. Your free to wonder around. Lots of maps and restaurants from the 1500-1600. Lots of artillery weapons. Few model ships. Multiple paintings by Spanish artists although not a big fan. Definitely a wonderful place to pass by for tourists if your into history.
Saeed M — Google review
Casa de Colon is a small, nice museum in Las Palmas, in the old town called Vegueta. The building is very pretty, with patios, wooden balconies, and parrots. The museum has displays about the travels of Christopher Columbus. You can see models of his ships, old maps, and history from the Canary Islands and America. It costs about €4 to enter, and it’s free for kids. You only need about 1 hour to visit. It’s a good place to go if you’re walking around the city and want to learn a little bit of history in a beautiful setting.
Ramona C — Google review
Nice museum, it is the house of Columbus, nice exhibitions, definetely worth the price. If you are into history is a must-see, if not, you can spend 25-30 minutes wondering. Enjoy!
Dan R — Google review
Meh the upper floor and basement are both CLOSED (they do have a sign at entrance). Almost nothing original (all nice fascimiles of originals held at other museums). The few original items are some unremarkable paintings by unknown authors. Almost no languages on any of the displays other than Spanish. The good things is entry is only 4Euro, but even at that price not really worth it and wait until the whole museum is available. For me, not able to read Spanish and with 2/3 floors closed, this was a 10 minute visit. I recommend admiring the exterior for free and wander through this beautiful section of old town instead.
Jason Z — Google review
Very interesting building. One of the ‘must-see’ museums if you are interested in historical monuments. The ground floor is dedicated to history, maps, and illustrations of the Colon’s trips. The upper floor is mostly a gallery exhibition, which has nothing to do with Sir Colon, but worth looking at. Some of the paintings are quite breathtaking.
Abdeljabbar J — Google review
4 euros for a nice walk through history of Columbus Christopher and the "discovery" of America. really interesting, totally recommend. small but sweet
M T — Google review
Relatively small museum but very impressive. Worth having a wander around. Tickets are € 4,- per person.
Leila — Google review
Both the crypt and the upper part are closed (29/10/25), most long panels and maps are only in spanish no english at all, videos dont have sounds nor subtitles. A museum about maps and the shop has prints of like 3 of them in poor quality. No originals only copies but it was expected from a small museum. Nice atmosphere though and a fair price (4€)

Las Canteras Beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Las Canteras Beach is a stunning urban beach in Gran Canaria, boasting 3 kilometers of golden sand and a lively esplanade filled with top-notch restaurants and bars. One of its most distinctive features is La Barra, a natural volcanic rock formation that runs parallel to the coast, protecting the majority of the beach from tides and fostering marine life. The area is perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts interested in exploring the seabed and its diverse species.
I fell in love with this beach and the entire long promenade. Early in the morning, when there are no people yet, and in the afternoon, when everything is full of life. The cafes invite you to sit down and enjoy. And the ocean is just worth looking at...
Lina G — Google review
Playa de Las Canteras is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The wide, sandy beach with a gentle slope into the ocean is perfect for long walks along the shore. A natural reef protects against waves, making swimming safe. In the evening, the promenade comes alive, with charming cafés and the sound of the waves creating a unique atmosphere. ..
Tomasz S — Google review
Beautiful beach with golden sand, calm clear water, and a lively promenade full of cafes and shops. Perfect spot to swim, relax, or watch the sunset. Loved it!
Hicham A — Google review
Super nice beach. Quiet places. Many sport activities. Toilets and showers. Directly on boulevard, terraces, etc. In the evening nice atmosphere. Clean boulevard (dogs, step, bicycle not allowed)
Rob — Google review
The beach has nice lovely sand. The sun bed is 3 euros for all day. Umbrella is also 3 euros ( visited in Sept 2025). The beach has toilets, stairs that take you to the toilets and indoor showers. It also has outdoor showers. Both were clean. The shore is not abrupt and there are no stones. However, there were some algae. All in all worth the price and the visit, but there is no bar on the actual beach. Only bars, cafes, restaurants above the beach overlooking the ocean. The water is not transparent like in Greece. All in all nice ocean view, but not amazing.
Catalina — Google review
Beach and sea are clean and beautiful. Two sunbeds with umbrella cost about €9, but prices for Swiss visitors often jump by 50%. Unfortunately, little is invested in the facilities – compared to the Bagni on the Adriatic, clearly weaker.
Y L — Google review
Maybe one of the most iconic beaches on Gran Canaria! But definitely worth visiting! A few km long but very clean, sand is perfect, plenty of space to place your own beach towel, or you can rent a sunbed and umbrella! Amazing promenade, you could walk for hours and discover all amazing restaurants along the beach! Amazing views of the Ocean as well!
Ioan M — Google review
A great place for a walk, a relaxing day at the beach with the whole family, and a delicious dinner with an incredible sunset view.

Archaeological museum
Museums
Museo Canario, located in the old town of Vegueta, Gran Canaria, is a museum founded in the early 19th century. It offers a fascinating collection of prehistoric artifacts from the entire Canary archipelago. Visitors can explore exhibition rooms showcasing mummies and skeletons, as well as relics of the original inhabitants of the island. The museum provides an insightful journey into the prehistory and indigenous culture of Gran Canaria.
Great little museum that packs a world of anthropology history of the island. Beware this is not an art musem!
Rene M — Google review
A private museum. Very well kept. Staff friendly and informative. 1 star lost as this museum is not wheelchair accessible and their building is not well connected by safe pedestrian access from the main tourist area of Santa Ana a short walk away. No drinking fountains. Pay to enter. Discounts for children and incapacitated persons. Augmented reality displays are interesting although we only observed these from a TV promo in the lobby as we didn't use the smartphone to view these during visit. Air conditioned building which is a bonus on very hot days.
Hello H — Google review
Very interesting museum in the center of the city. Gives you a better insight into the history of the local people's heritage and culture.
Paul S — Google review
Do not miss this nice museum. You can learn a lot about the life of the first inhabitants of the island. The skulls chamber it is fascinating (virtually unchanged since the 19th century), paying respects in the after life to the indigenous population. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it is lacking english translations, so I used a translation app to read the panels. You can use the qr codes at some displays for audio guides in english.
Stefan P — Google review
The highlight Is definitely the room with all the skulls buy, generally, it is a nice museum about the pre-hispanic period of the local aborigins. Don't lose the shop with a historical library
Marco G — Google review
Interesting "private" museum. Has three displays that come to life on your phone too.
-- — Google review
Interesting to learn about the history of the indigenous people of Gran Canaria through artifacts and exhibits. Small but quaint museum. Do note the it’s 2 levels and did not spot a lift hence unsure if it’s wheelchair friendly. Free audio guide using your mobile phone to scan the QR code in each museum room however unable to connect to the museum’s WiFi and 3G was crawling slow hence skipped the audio guide in total. Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays 10am to 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 2pm. Entry fees: €5, SGD7.10. Tickets can be bought at the entrance.
YP S — Google review
Super little museum that is both interesting and sad at the same time. It tells the story of the island's history and the fate of its indigenous people. There is a vast array of well-preserved artefacts on display, including a rather morbid but important display of mummies and skeletal remains. The displays are fascinating and very well presented. Not to be missed if you're in the city.

Sights & Landmarks
The Catedral Metropolitana de Santa Ana de Canarias, also known as the Santa Ana Cathedral, is a stunning Gothic cathedral located in the heart of Vegueta. Construction of this Roman Catholic cathedral began in 1500 and lasted for approximately four centuries, resulting in a mix of architectural styles including Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical. The interior houses numerous notable religious artworks and is open to visitors free of charge.
Impressive inside and out. The Catedral de Santa Ana is the standout landmark in the old town. The architecture is striking, especially the front façade and the vaulted interior. It’s calm, clean, and well preserved. You can also take the lift up to the bell tower for a small fee, worth it for the views over the rooftops of Vegueta and towards the port. There’s a small museum inside too, with religious art and artefacts. It’s not huge, but definitely worth visiting if you’re in Las Palmas and want a bit of history and a break from the beach.
Patrik K — Google review
We didn't know you had to pay to visit the interior part of the church. At first we were a bit skeptical, but then we gave it a go as it wasn't expensive (€6 for adults, €4 for students or residents and under 12 free) and we sure weren't disappointed. The interior part of the church is well maintained and it looks stunning! But the view from the tower was for sure worth the climb of the stairs. There is an elevator as well but we decided to take the stairs. The view from the top looks like from a movie set and you won't be disappointed. The money is worth it 👌 i wouldn't miss the chance to visit. There is a little exhibition/museum as well. You can just pop there and buy your tickets at the door.
Monica I — Google review
Beautiful old Cathedral in As Palmas. Peaceful spot to explore and gather your thoughts. Can also access the roof via a lift and then climb the tower for even better views of the city and harbour. There is also an attached museum and at the time of our visit there was an additional exhibition. Would recommend.
Mike D — Google review
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Ana, also known as Catedral de Canarias, is a stunning architectural and historical landmark located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands. 🏛️It was the first church built in the Canary Islands, symbolizing the establishment of Christianity in the archipelago. • The cathedral was the only one in the Canaries until 1819, when another diocese was created in Tenerife. 🎨 The cathedral showcases a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles, reflecting its long construction period and multiple renovations. Inside, you’ll find columns shaped like palm trees, a nod to the island’s flora. Located in the Vegueta neighborhood, it’s surrounded by other historic sites like the Casa de Colón (Columbus House). Entrance for a small fee ( 6€ adults , 4€ students or residents and under 12 or disable free ). The interior part of the church is well maintained. The beautiful view from the tower was for sure worth the climb of the stairs🔝 There is an elevator as well but we decided to take the stairs ( only 163 stairs). We were accommodated right in front of the cathedral✅ Visited September 2025
Alina M — Google review
So glad we visited this beautiful church it’s filled with so much rich history, and the area around it is absolutely gorgeous. There’s a small entry fee, but it’s worth it since you get to explore the grounds, walk through the museum, and even head up the tower for breathtaking views of the city. You can also light a candle with a donation, which makes the visit feel even more special. When you exit the church and take a left, there’s an amazing tapas restaurant I highly recommend. Not too far from there, you’ll also find Christopher Columbus’s house, where he once stayed. The walk itself is a treat the streets are lined with vibrant-colored buildings and lush plants throughout. Truly a must-see!
Travelina K — Google review
Beautiful church on the outside, and even more amazing visiting inside. A majestic and unique place. The museum/art exhibition was breathtaking. Worth a visit. The view from the top of the cathedral is beautiful. You can even climb in the highest tower of the building.
Diana B — Google review
The best part of this visit was the excellent views from the top of the cathedral of the surrounding city, there is a lift to the viewing area, but take the stairs further up to the highest point, well worth the effort.

Fresh food market
Mercado De Vegueta is a must-visit in Las Palmas, offering an array of local delights. From cheeses to fresh produce and Atlantic fish, the market showcases Gran Canarian specialties. Visitors can also enjoy live performances and handicraft displays on Sunday mornings. The friendly vendors offer samples without pressure to buy. While exploring the market, visitors can find everything from meats and fruits to cosmetics and wines. However, it's advisable to haggle with vendors who do not display prices.
In you’re in Vegueta then you must visit this market and the busy street in front of it. It’s bustling and busy with locals shopping, but also lots of tourists too. Very colourful fruit stall displays with all sorts and varieties of tropical fruits. It’s a historic market in a historic area, both full of character and charm, and very photogenic.
Gustav — Google review
Lively, local, and worth a visit. Mercado de Vegueta is a proper working market, not just a tourist show. You’ll find fresh fruit, veg, fish, meat, spices, and Canarian products at fair prices. The quality is high and the stallholders know their stuff. It’s also a good place to grab a quick snack, some stalls serve coffee, juices, or tapas. The building itself is attractive and easy to navigate. Go early if you want the full experience before the crowds arrive. Ideal for picking up fresh produce or just getting a feel for local life.
Patrik K — Google review
The best fruit selection I have ever seen. All sort of fruit plus exotic local one who are beatiful to the eyes and really tasty and different. I wish to go back soon.
Daniele D — Google review
Great for the experience, with all the tropical fruits available. Prices probably aimed for tourists, rather than realistic.... Nice coffee shop, inside also - where you could be amongst the buzz of the market.
Debbie F — Google review
Colorful market 🌈 The largest variety of fruits, skillfully arranged, at reasonable prices. Visited September 2025
Alina M — Google review
Nice mercado full of fruits and vegetables. You should visit! Closes at 14:30
Юлия П — Google review
Amazing indoor market. The fruit and vegetable shops look like works of art. The shops are full of bright colourful goods from floor to ceiling. There are free toilets and plenty of places to eat and drink.
Dippy J — Google review
Big selection of fruit and veg. The more unusual ones are pricey and to be honest not worth trying. I'm not sure if fruits I bought were overripe or underripe but not very tasty. I don't even know the names of the fruits. Blue bananas when ripe are yellow and taste nice but one small banana will cost you over 4€. Probably the best to buy a tray with selection of fruits if you want to try a new ones.

(Translated by Google) Triana street in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is, in my opinion, the most important in the Canary Islands. It's a pleasure to shop there. There is everything, cheap, expensive and super expensive. The streets perpendicular to it are full of restaurants and cafes where it is very pleasant to have breakfast, lunch or dinner outdoors. You can see that the merchants in the area have worked hard. Highly recommended. The only pity is that the City Council is not up to par in its attention and care (Original) La calle Triana en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria es en mi opinión, las más importante de Canarias. Teatro Pérez Galdós is a beautiful theater located in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It offers a comfortable and intimate setting with good seating capacity, making it an ideal place to enjoy various performances. The theater's architecture and art in the lobby provide a glimpse into Canarian culture. Adjacent to the Triana district, visitors can also find lively nightlife spots with live music and dance venues.
I saw a performance by a dancer from the Gran Canaries. The theater was just gorgeous. The audience, decked out in their Sunday best, seemed to know the performer, which gave me a glimpse into natives and their culture. But, take a taxi as parking is difficult and the location, in the scenic old part of Las Palmas, is a pedestrian nightmare!

I went to see Carmen the opera x my ticket said restricted viewing and it was x the 3rd and 4th floor seats are amphitheatre style x 9 to a box like section x but they had a large screen TV and smaller ones to see the parts of the stage it was physically impossible to see. It was surreal seeing a French opera with Spanish subtitles x beautiful building though and fabulous interpretation of the opera x and best of all they don't rip you off for drinks in the auditorium x €5 for a large red wine and a bottle of water

I Didn't go inside but it was a beautiful and very large building from the outside!
Jeff B — Google review
When I saw the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Gran Canaria, I was immediately taken aback by its stunning architecture. The building’s grandeur and historical charm were impossible to miss from the outside. The neoclassical and baroque elements on the façade created a sense of timeless elegance, with intricate columns and sculptural details that made the theater feel like a piece of living history. The exterior alone gave off an aura of refinement, and I could sense the importance this place holds in the heart of Las Palmas. Even though I didn’t have the chance to go inside, the architecture outside was more than enough to leave a lasting impression. The elegant design and well-preserved features of the building suggested an interior just as magnificent. The blend of classical styles and the vibrant energy of the location gave it a welcoming, yet majestic feel. Simply standing in front of it, I could tell that Teatro Pérez Galdós is a cultural treasure, a perfect reflection of Gran Canaria’s rich heritage. It’s a place I’d love to experience more of, especially once I have the opportunity to step inside.

Teatro Pérez Galdós is a beautiful and well-preserved theatre in Las Palmas, named after the famous Canarian writer. The architecture blends classical and modern elements, and the interior is elegant without being overdone. Acoustics are excellent, making it a great venue for opera, concerts, and theatre. It’s centrally located near the old town, so easy to visit before or after exploring Vegueta. Staff are welcoming, and the programme often includes both local and international performances. Even if you don’t attend a show, it’s worth seeing the building from the outside or joining a guided tour.
Patrik K — Google review
Beautiful theater in the heart of the city! And even better is stumbling onto 928 Capital Restaurant next door. A chic atmosphere + amazing food equals an all-around wonderful experience. There is even a brunch menu with a live Dj on Sundays!!!!

Fantastic building. Al the art in lobby. Then the theatre is also really fantastic.
Kim Ö — Google review
Went to see Madama Butterfly at the theatre. The staging was excellent and the facilities in the theatre were superb. The only tickets available were marked as restricted view. This resulted in 50% of the stage not being visible from our seat and made worse by the lady in front constantly moving to try to see more. I would certainly return but try to buy better tickets

Poema del Mar Aquarium, also known as Poem of the Sea, is a modern and expansive aquarium located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. With an area of 12,500 square meters and over 400 species of marine life, it offers visitors a captivating journey through diverse ecosystems and marine worlds from around the globe.
Excellent half day. 29 Euros entry and well worth it. I have visited similar before and they have been fine but this was the best aquarium experience I have r ever seen with it's prehistoric exhibits and if course the sharks and rays. The size is beyond comparison and although my 14 yr old son was moved to nothing more than a grunt I googled it and apparently that's means he thought it was excellent but is too cool to say much more. It's right next to the cruise drop off point so a one minute walk if that's where you're coming from. Then you can walk into the town centre too, no taxis required.

This place is amazing. We have visited the island 5 times before but the thought of the bus trip here put us off, but this year we went and so glad we did and regret not doing this before now. The place is a one way system with the different zones all amazing and fish we have never seen before. We timed it right and seen the feeding. The dinner hall with the full view of the aquarium was amazing and could sit there all day. Seeing the full size of the aquarium was just an amazing sight, The interactive info displays were an amazing touch with do much information on it. We will visit here again
Kayleigh M — Google review
A lot of interesting exhibits, with screens that tell you interesting facts about the animals. The whole walk around the aquarium is easy to follow and well curated. Many places to sit and watch the exhibits, making it not only an interesting experience, but also a relaxing one. The great shark tank experience feels like something out of this world. Also, walking through the glass tunnel is a unique experience. For just €29, this is a must see when visiting Gran Canaria! Absolutely one of the best places on the island.

Definitely worth a visit, we spent about 3 hours here today, that included sitting for a drink, I think you could spend longer with children as they would be fascinated. Tickets were €30 each,& we caught the bus from puerto rico, no 91 to Santa Catalina bus station, its the last stop on bus route, then about 8 min walk, was €8 each. The whole aquarium is spotless the tanks look very clean,& all well cared for, just after you go in you can have a photo taken, it just shows you standing in front of greenery,€13 for 1 photo. There are so many different species of fish, reptiles, sharks, there is a lovely big tank you can sit in front of in an auditorium & just watch everything swimming past, so peaceful, just takes your time & take everything in, we even went back around a couple of pathways, highly recommend especially if you have time afterwards to go across the pedestrian bridge to the sea front, makes a lovely day out. It is one of those places we will definitely go back to.

We had a really great time visiting Poema del Mar Aquarium! The place is divided into several themed areas — jungle, underwater, and the massive main aquarium — and everything is spotless and beautifully designed. There’s so much to see, and the displays are really well done. One of the highlights for us was the small restaurant inside, where you can enjoy your meal while looking directly into the aquarium. Watching fish, turtles, and even sharks swim by as you eat is such a unique experience! Prices were also very reasonable — we paid around €8 for two drinks and a large portion of fries. Other standout features include the see-through tunnel that takes you right through the huge aquarium, the impressive pillar-shaped tank, and lots of smaller aquariums with colorful, exotic fish. Overall: A wonderful experience that we truly enjoyed. Poema del Mar is definitely worth a visit — fun, relaxing, and beautifully maintained!

Most stunning aquarium I've ever been to. Wonderful tanks and I could sit and watch for hours. I've been 3 times, it is a must visit if you go to Gran Canaria. Never seems overly busy and you can sit in the restaurant right next to the large tank. Wonderful!
Bernadette P — Google review
Well laid out and very Informative. The scale of some of the tanks is amazing and the variety of species along with the obvious crowd pleasers is impressive. The cafes and gift shops are reasonably priced and don't try to rinse you like most attractions! Can definitely recommend.
Justin K — Google review
An amazing place to visit! There is so much to see and they have so many different species that they are taking good care of. The staff was very friendly and you get to learn also different things about different species. What amazed me is the panorama view of the aquarium - one could just sit hours there and observe.

Plaza de Santa Ana is a charming square located in the historic district of Vegueta, Grand Canary. It sits adjacent to the impressive Santa Ana Cathedral and is renowned for its iconic dog sculptures. The area also boasts significant landmarks such as the Gabinete Literario, Casa de Colon, Atlantic Centre of Modern Art, Canarian Museum, and Vegueta Market. This picturesque square hosts local events and concerts during festivals and offers a quaint cafe with outdoor seating.
The main square in the historic Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is surrounded by important historical buildings, creating a beautiful architectural ensemble. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the square is the eight bronze dog statues. These iconic sculptures have become a symbol of the city and a popular spot for photos. It is a popular gathering place for locals and tourists and often hosts events, concerts, and festivities.

This charming square is beautifully located at the heart of Las Palmas and offers a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the surrounding architecture. The iconic Catedral de Santa Ana is just steps away, adding to the historic charm of the area. The plaza has a peaceful yet lively atmosphere, with lovely cafes and a pleasant place to sit and people-watch. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the stunning surroundings make it an ideal spot to soak up the local culture. A true gem in the city!

✅This Christmas the decoration was wonderful, and marvelous. I hope to see unless the same next year. Congratulations to the mayor of the city. 👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 ❌ The only draw back was where to park. Better take the bus, or taxi.

Plaza de Santa Ana is the historic heart of Vegueta in Las Palmas. Surrounded by key buildings like the cathedral, Casas Consistoriales, and the bishop’s palace, it’s a great starting point for exploring the old town. The plaza is wide, clean, and well kept, with palm trees, benches, and the famous bronze dog statues. It’s a calm space where locals and tourists gather, often with street performers or quiet cafés nearby. Good spot to sit, take photos, and soak in the historic atmosphere before heading into the cathedral or nearby museums.
Patrik K — Google review
Good value only 6 euros and could go to the top of the tower for the most amazing views of thebcity

It was really cheap to get in, and they do concessions, too. Really great views at the top. The museum is really interesting that is attached to the garden. Plus, audio tour through QR code, so bring your headphones.
Ian P — Google review
Very beautiful to walk around. You can see the architecture of the cathedral (kinda scary tbh and gives horror movie vibes) while also sitting at the cafe. You can enjoy the spanish architecture of the surrounding buildings and later on go shopping in the avenida. Definitely a nice place for tourists to go. North isn't too hot so the weather is enjoyable.

Very pretty and clean plaza facing the cathedral with a good number of benches that are (depending on time of day) shaded by palm trees. Still it's is a LOT of concrete and no grass and limited trees.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Triana, Restaurante Allende Triana is a delightful culinary gem that perfectly blends modern aesthetics with traditional Canarian flavors. The restaurant boasts a bright and airy ambiance, characterized by its chic monochrome decor and high ceilings adorned with whimsical sketches of trams and light bulbs. Here, diners can indulge in an array of delectable dishes ranging from classic Canarian tapas like papas arrugadas to international favorites such as Hawaiian poke and fresh salads.
Excellent restaurant. A local friend recommend me this place. I am staying in the Canary Islands for two months for work and I often have business lunch and dine out. This place is one of the best restaurants for me. The menu does not offer wide choice but selected. The location is relaxing with outside table or elegant tables inside. The waiters are professional. The taste is rather delicate but I really felt the good of ingredients’ quality. There were many local regular customers in the restaurant. Waiters speak good English and there is also the menu in English. Prices are fare. Simply the best in the town.

Loved everything at this place. Third restaurant tried in Las Palmas, but the 1st worth mentioning. Really perfectly prepared tuna and wok beyond expectations preceded by creative empanadas! Wine was local, not the best in Spain, but a nice learning about local wine. Desert that we decided to take after really great experience with the food also had a creative touch.
Igor K — Google review
We popped in here for a light meal one evening after reading good reviews - it did not disappoint! The waiter was super helpful and just really nice in general. We ordered the honeyed aubergine, Lebanese salad and the tuna tartar - all really delicious. The ambience inside is great and it was open late. Plenty of other dishes on offer. Nothing not to like!
B C — Google review
A highly popular spot, it filled up completely within 30 minutes of opening. The Iberian steak was delicious, and the cookie with ice cream was enjoyable, but the tuna was just average.
Edgars M — Google review
Amazing experience at Allende Triana, the service was lovely and welcoming, the vibe was very enjoyable. We stopped for dinner, it was very casual and quiet and the food was absolutely delicious! We went for the tuna tataki, the tuna tartar and the soup (the first time). And we just had to go back and ordered the tuna tartar AGAIN the burger and the baos. Everything was incredible and the prices are a great value for your money. I definitely recommend and will go as many times as possible!

We had a fantastic experience at Restaurante Allende. All the dishes that we ordered were delicious with great flavours. I particularly recommend the gyozas and the queso Herreño. It is worth noting that the bread was of outstanding quality compared to most restaurants in Las Palmas. The service was also very good, and the location is great. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Damien S — Google review
We came here on a Monday for lunchtime. Had the 2nd out of the 4 set menus and the food we got was delicious! All perfectly cooked, and we left feeling very full. Would definitely recommend the below combo. The food comes with unlimited soft drink and beers so it satisfied everyone at the table. The only reason I’m knocking a star off is because towards the end the staff were very slow, we had to ask 5 times to pay the bill.

If you're craving a delightful pizza experience, look no further than Ristorante Pizzería Al Maccaroni. This charming eatery not only serves up mouthwatering pizzas with perfectly baked thin crusts and generous toppings but also caters to gluten-free diners, offering delicious options that can be enjoyed on-site or taken away. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, enhanced by stunning ocean views that create a lovely dining atmosphere.
The food was very delicious and the staff was really friendly. The flair is great, because the view onto the ocean gives the restaurant a nice vibe. They even changed the oil and redid a plate after we told them that there is an allergy, so the food wouldn’t be contaminated. We really appreciated it!!!! Great experience, definitely recommended!

Loved the starter garlic prawns. Pasta and pizza were also nice. The waiters were nice and has a good view of the beach.

The best pizza I have ever had. I requested my own pizza and they didn't even flinch. I had tuna, prawns and anchovies. The service was really quick, and the quality of the food was far superior to any, including the local area. The local beer was delicious and the service from the staff was exceptional. I am so pleased I found this place and i highly recommend it. Thank you! I had my own custom pizza and 2 beers. Total was €27.70

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful time at the restaurant! Emanuel and Margarita took care of us with great kindness and attention. We ordered two Margarita pizzas, which came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. A truly great experience, we can’t wait to come back!

They changed 3 times my table on the outdoor terrace! A lot of green olives on the vegetarian pizza but as i know , black olives are more suitable for pizzas! Acceptable but not waaaouw…

A very pleasant surprise! The pizza was excellent – perfectly thin crust, delicious and generously topped. The place itself feels cozy and welcoming. El Almacén

El Almacén GC is a steakhouse in Gran Canaria that offers delicious Argentinian empanadas, grilled meats, and robust red wines. It is the perfect place to relax after visiting Mezquita De Las Palmas. The restaurant is known for its mouthwatering dishes such as churrasco and steaks. The ambiance is laid-back, and the service provided by the two brothers who run the restaurant is exceptional.
🌟🌟🌟Nice surprise 🌟🌟🌟🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷 Lovely small, authentic Restaurant close to the beach - but thankfully not on the beach front. This guarantees a customer oriented, a food oriented real restaurant. You wish to eat well? Go there! You wish to feel like a person and not like faceless tourist: welcome 🙏🎉🥳💕. The Patron welcomes you with a handshake, a hearty smile and …. when you come back, he actually remembers you. We had different pastries for a starter and share a steak afterwards. Recommendation of the chef were perfect for us. Evening ended with big hugs 🤗 🌟🌟🌟Absolutely recommended 🌟🌟🌟 nice add-on: the guests who share the table with us were absolutely divine British couple and we had a memorable evening with them 🤩🤗

We came by El Almacen twice only to find it not only full but with a queue. Finally on our last night in Las Palmas we arrived and were able to be seated right away! Worth the wait. Provoletta was awesome. Best darn steak on Gran Canaria (and we tried MANY). Bottle of Malbec to complete the Argentinian experience for 17 euro. Geraldo is amazing and energetic - he’s an absolute delight! We’ll be back when we return to Gran Canaria!!

I recently visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The meat was delicious perfectly cooked and full of flavor. What really made the visit special was the one staff member working there. They were incredibly friendly, very service oriented and took the time to give us great suggestions for things to do around Las Palmas. The restaurant is also located in a cozy and charming spot which added to the overall experience. Great food, a warm atmosphere, and outstanding personal service highly recommended!

Very authentic Argentinian restaurant. The is quite small, I think 5-6 small tables so a booking is recommended. We had empanadas, churrasco and vació, all very good.

They have more than earned their great reviews on here! We showed up a little before 7 p.m. to ensure we got a table when they opened at 7:30 p.m. (they only have 5 tables so I’d recommend getting there early) and when the owner showed up he engaged us in conversation and let us look at the menu. My wife and I ordered the chicken pastry and the bacon and onion stuffed basket as starters and they were delicious! For dinner we shared the vacio steak cooked medium rare and dessert was the El Almacén. Everything was mouth watering and perfect!

THE BEST RESTAURANT IN MY OPINION!! NOT OVER EXAGGERATED PRICES, QUALITY OF FOOD IS SIMPLY 12 OUT OF 10, SERVICE ALSO TOP MARKS, BITH BROTHERS RUNNING THE RESTAURANT ARE VERY FRIENDLY, COMMUNICATIVE, THEY TAKE TIME TO SOEAK TO CUSTOMERS, ITS SMALL AND I WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING!! BEEN THERE NUMBER OF TIME AND WILL NEVER STOP COMING!!

Very small and nice place , a mix of bakery and bar. The empanadas are tasty I didn’t like the Stuffed Basket, but the steak with three pepper sauces is really good. Staff is friendly too.

We got this place recommended by a friend and we are so glad we came here for our last meal on the island. It’s a small family business restaurant, the food was amazing, but even better was the attention to the customer. Gerardo was extremely kind, providing a 10/10 customer service (not easy to find here!!) This place has already a very good reputation and it’s all very well deserved. I wish everyone to go and experience the good food and the kindness. All the best to Gerard, his business and his family x😊

El Churrasco Las Palmas Restaurante Grill is a high-end steakhouse and Argentinian restaurant that caters to families and large groups. Located within the Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa, it offers prime cuts of Aberdeen Angus beef prepared on the grill to perfection. The menu is a paradise for meat lovers, with an array of delectable dishes from starters to desserts. Visitors praise the attentive staff, exemplary service, exquisite food, and amazing wine selection.
This Argentinian restaurant deserves all the praise! From the moment we walked in, we received a warm welcome and attentive service from the friendly staff. The star of the show, of course, was the beef. We opted for the Chateaubriand, and it was simply divine. The meat was incredibly tender, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. If you're a fan of Argentinian cuisine or simply looking for a good dining experience, I highly recommend El Churrasco Las Palmas

The steakhouse offers outstanding meat quality that is unmatched by any other restaurant in the area. Every cut is perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The service is extremely attentive and courteous, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. It is clear that the team is passionate about their craft and truly stands behind the product they serve.

On a Monday evening we have been searching for a restaurant in Las Palmas and we have ended at El Churrasco. Before reading further you have to be aware that we had a big mismatch. My wife is vegetarian and this is a huge meat place. The number of different steaks is big. The atmosphere is all about bull fighting and steaks. We really understand that people like this restaurant, but it was not for us. As mentioned, there was a big mismatch.
Rene G — Google review
Great Argentinian steak house. The grilled provoletta was delicious and with good crust. Rib eye was tender, juicy and yummy. Good Malbec wine to complete the Argentinian experience. Service was very warm and welcoming. Deducted a star because we sat at a table where silverware was LOUDLY being tossed around behind a thin partition for the first 20 minutes of our meal and then again for the last 20 minutes. It was like forks were being thrown against each other so loudly at times we couldn’t talk and it went on and on and on (even recoded the clanging in the attached video). Hopefully the management can address this because it is not pleasant. Otherwise, terrific meal!

Best steak i'm ever eated!!!! Customer service was exceptionally good and the Meat tasted extraordinary good!! Must visit also next time i'm going to the town! I ordered ribeye with baked potato. Nice consept that the customer sees when they food is grilled!

We dined at El Churrasco during our stay in Las Palmas. The service was great and the food was very good. I was slightly disappointed that no fish was available even though I'd seen it on the menu online, but this didn't detract from the good evening we had. We especially enjoyed the theatrics of carving the sensational meat at the table with the option of using the grill if required.
A. B — Google review
A really nice steak house in and a very comfortable environment. The service is second to none (5 star service). The drinks are good as well. I had the mushroom appetizer and the Angus burger. The mushrooms were fantastic. The buger was only okay. The meat was juicy but it was lacking in flavor.
Ken W — Google review
On point cooked and tasty, easy to chew Matured Galician Blond rib eye. Price was per kg, but we had around 300-400 grams each. Delcious pimientos (2-3 very spicy ones, but it’s a roulette 😂). The staff was very helpful in wine picking and in explaining the differences between each beef options and managed to bring us the cut size we asked for. Turns out peninsula medium cooked beef = medium rare in canarian terms 😅. Good thing they told us. An overall great experience. One thing as a minus, would be the french fries since they were frozen and not fresh. Oh, and the deserts were tasty!

Although reservations aren't accepted, arriving early ensures you snag one of the limited tables.
A repeat visit from 6 years ago. I HAD to have the fried cheese and melon marmalade as it was fantastic last time. Queued early for a space (it's small and they don't take reservations) and every dish delivered. Possibly the best tapas I've ever had.

This is a bussing bar. You go there to talk and drink and enjoy your heart out. Everyone sits on top of each other and there is. It much space to move. Food is great - prices are higher than a cheap bar but affordable. The steak was good though a bit tough. Papas were like my mum would make them and the meat parcels were wonderful. Recommend. Good luck finding a space though.

Lovely place! Great, tasty food, quick service, fair prices. The at atmosphere reminds you of a Tapas Bar in Madrid. It it's quite small and gets full quickly. They also don't work with reservations so you either need to be lucky or wait or come early / late. When I arrived at 10, there was 2 free tables. I will be definitely coming back!

The food is just great, my wife and I have tried basically all the top plates served there and it's quite hard to mention which one was best. The smoke cheese with melon sauce and the duck was just out of this world. Our personal regards to the staff which were beyond the expectations!

If you find yourself in Las Palmas, make a reservation at Amigo Camilo, no questions asked. Why? Because it’s hands-down the best seafood restaurant in town. If I lived nearby, I’d be there every week. A solid 10/10. This place will definitely leave a lasting impression in your memories. Food The concept is simple: seafood for every palate, grilled and brought straight to your table. Every dish we tried was incredible, fresh and bursting with flavour. Staff The service is amazing. The staff is friendly, always smiling, and genuinely eager to help. We felt truly welcomed and well cared for throughout the meal. Restaurante Paparazzi Las Canteras is a popular and casual Italian restaurant offering classic dishes with outdoor seating that overlooks the beach. Visitors have praised the delicious and satisfying food, such as thin and crispy pizzas and rich lasagnas. The handmade pasta dishes, like seafood pasta and lasagna, are also recommended for their generous portions. Despite being slightly pricey, the friendly service and overall dining experience make it a worthwhile choice for those seeking a quality Italian meal near the beach.
A great overall atmosphere, tasty, tasty food and the personnel is friendly and fun! Unlike other places, Mohammed invited me to sit while I wait for my friend, and was so kind and welcoming, that we ended up spending the whole evening with my friend, trying quite a few dishes and beers and we had a blast! Thank you! Great food and great fun! This is what a restaurant on the islands should be like.

I cannot put into words how grateful I am to Inés, the director of Paparazzi, and her incredible team. My partner and I came here for what she thought was a special dinner by the sea… but it became so much more. With Inés’ kindness, attention to detail, and true passion for creating unforgettable experiences, I was able to propose in the most magical way. When the moment came, everything was timed perfectly at 8pm with a beautiful sunset. After the proposal, the flowers and Moet was served followed by (as usual) the best Italian food in Las Canteras. This memory will last a lifetime. So a huge thank you to Inés the director, the absolutely lovely and super kind soul Juan (manager), and all the staff! To anyone considering Paparazzi for a special occasion (or even just a wonderful meal by the beach): you could not choose a better place, and you could not be in better hands than with Inés. She is exceptional, and we will forever be grateful to her and her team for making our engagement absolutely perfect.

Yesterday (28/9/2025), at first everything was okay, the Waiter came quickly and it was normal like in every Restaurant. Tge Food came fast and during we waited our Waiter and another (Woman with dark hair and big Breast) made Fun together. for me okay, but i think its not okay for every Customer if a Waiter (Woman) shows the middlefinger in front of the Customers (to the other Waiter). Later i ordered the Bill and the Woman brouhht it to our table. I paid by Card and put the Tip (round about 10%) Cash on the plate with the Bill. No smile, no gracias and i feld like i became the middlefinger from the "Lady" :-( I was everytime friendly, but this was bad....and she was so quickly away with the plate, that i couldn't take the Bill. I think if she would leave it on the table for longer, the Tip would be smaller...maybe it was because it was the table from the other Waiter, but not Customerproblem. I wished a gave the Money to the poor Man, who came from Table to Table an not to the unfriendly Woman...the Guy was okay....

Absolutely delicious food. The staff here work so hard and for very long hours. Besr this in mind when youbtry to get seated as it can take a while during busy periods. However, the wait is well worth it and the food is exceptional.

Food was great, service was great (until 7:30pm, the scowly server previously mentioned must start then), the blonde lady was very friendly. The music and jiving/salsa dancing in the little square added some atmosphere. Recommend coming here at least once during your trip. Great view at sundown.

The best thing about this restaurant is the sea view. The waitress was nice but a bit slow, and then she made us wait for the bill for 20 minutes. Pizzas were not good at all, the sugo was good but that's it. We were just hungry and then we were not. But not pleased with the food at all.
Veronika F — Google review
The server was incredibly rude and one of 2 of us ordered starters which were listed on the menu only as such, and she immediately moved one to the next person instead of waiting for the second dish. She also couldn't understand the mozzarella dish that I ordered which was one of the only ones on the menu with mozzarella. I did order in English, which I know is a little bit entitled to assume that a server can understand, but giving that this is obviously a tourist spot, I think this is at least a little bit understandable. She also only answered in Spanish, despite our obvious struggles. She also brought the main dish of one of us with the starters of the other ones. We still had good food though

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante Deliciosa Marta is a cozy restaurant in Gran Canaria that offers traditional island cuisine with a touch of love in every dish. Located near Triana Street, it's the perfect place to end a cultural day in the city. This top-class restaurant is known for its exceptional service, impeccable dining area, and incredible cuisine. The menu features must-try dishes like steak tartare, truffled gnocchi, and fresh salads.
Exquisite cuisine with a great ambient. Place: it is located in the old city of las palmas. Decorated in a colonial style with modern touches. It is cozy and warm. This place is always full so you need to book in advance. Service: they are kind and fast enough. Always Keen to recommend the best items on the menu as well as out of the menu dishes. They could be a bit more attentive tho, things like refiling drinks, or offering more bread makes the difference. Food: they started with homemade walnuts bread. Really soft and sweet inside but with a savoury crust. Some cold cuts, corn bread and tomate with oil. Everything was very tasty. For mains we had. Truffle gnochis: really delicious a must try. Eggs and navajas(seafood): that was a surprise for a dish. Good combination with a running yolk inside the omelette and the seafood on top. Ham croquettes: crunchy outside with a thin crust, creamy and plenty of ham inside. Oxtail with sauce: tasty and tender, perfect 24 hours slow cooked pig: this is another must try. Crunchy outside and extremely tender inside. Desserts Toffee with vainilla and caramel: nice but a bit too sweet Cream of vanilla and berries: original taste a bit sweet and savoury. Natillas: a nice and creamy traditional dessert. This is a very recommended place in Las Palmas both for lunch or dinner.

Shocking lack of respect for a restaurant id liked to have tried. Made a booking, turned up on time and I'm told there was no booking made at all. The guy made every excuse to say that they were full (plenty of empty tables) and that they were full the rest of the week. Good luck with the restaurant but you may be turned away for no good reason at all.

Curious business getting a table here which, despite turning up in person, we were asked to do through WhatsApp. Glad we persevered, the asparagus with truffle and Parmesan was worth it alone!

Great restaurant and fab food the only hiccup was a rather stroppy waiter .. luckily the interaction was at the end of the meal . Great wine list and strongly recommend a visit .. The red tuna tartar with fried egg is an eye opener !! If you have room the cheese cake too .. it brings back memories of what these American specials were all about 😁

Very small place with wonderfully delicious well crafted food.

Great food, excellent and unintrusive, non pushy waiter and waitress, who know their stuff. Food is very far from generic and quick. Our meal took about 90 minutes, 2 starters, 3 main courses and a dessert between three people. Make no mistake, it's expensive, but in my opinion totally worth it. Beautifully presented food with obviously good quality ingredients. All tastes good. I'd recommend it for couples.
Andrew A — Google review
I had a meat there and it was excellent- especially lamb shoulder - it was tender and delicious. White asparagus were also very tasty and probably one of the best I had in GC. They use high quality ingredients and staff was attentive and very polite. It's a good place for a quiet dinner or a date

Restaurante Il Segreto Di Pulcinella

Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Il Segreto Di Pulcinella is an authentic Italian restaurant that offers delicious food from the mainland. The atmosphere is cozy and homey, perfect for enjoying a pizza pie or some pasta. Outdoor seating and wheelchair accessibility makes it great for those summer days spent outdoors. In addition to classic Italian dishes, they also have a variety of pizzas from around the world, all made with the highest quality ingredients.
Came here through a recommendation by a friend. Definitely recommend this place to all of you considering to eat here. Had a delicious Pistachio pizza!
Ryan G — Google review
Very good food. Staff friendly. A Pepsi, not Coca Cola available restaurant. Limited liquor and mix drinks choices; for example no mojitos or PIMs etc. Our friend enjoyed their house Red wine they had by the glass. During our visit we did witness a mobility impaired electric scooter user on the front outside terrace area. Unfortunately they do not have toilets or access to the interior of the restaurant possible for wheelchair users. The majority of restaurants along the walkway have the same issues of wheelchair accessible toilets and entry access. The city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the EU should be stepping up to provide funding reimbursement to restaurants to install handicapped accessible mechanisms. Especially when the island has a count of 12 tourists to 1 islander. There should be incentive for positive, accessible upgrades.

We visited this restaurant with its nice atmosphere (inside) for lunch. We ordered pizza diavola and pasta alla genovese. The diavola was great, but the pasta... A M A Z I N G. We loved it! We will definitely come back for more. One small thing we were not a fan of was that the menu card was only accessible by QR-code though. Other than that, great experience

Amazing and authentic food had with friends in this lovely and decorated restaurant If you want to have a good pizza this is the place The staff is very polite and prepared Probably the music didn't match with the pulcinella's restaurant 😇 Plenty vegetarian options 🙏🏻

The best seafood pasta I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The only downside was the Aperol

Best Pizza we've had during our holidays! Very friendly staff. We can highly recommend the tiramisus (classic and pistachio). You definitely won't leave hungry. A must visit if you like good italian food and atmosphere.

After seeing all the recent reviews, we decided to give it a try. It was a real disappointment! It wasn't crowded, but we waited 40 minutes. The carbonara was awful, and it tasted only like cheese. The pizza was undercooked and the mozzarella was awful. I don't understand the positive comments... I forgot that the restrooms are very clean. I don't recommend it. We won't be back.

Transportation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Getting around Las Palmas de Gran Canaria can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Nearby airports

Gran Canaria Airport

International airport
Airport
Gran Canaria Airport is conveniently connected to the island's capital, Las Palmas, and various tourist resorts through regular public buses. The airport offers a pleasant experience for families with facilities catering to both babies and toddlers, including play areas and private rooms. Additionally, there are amenities such as phone charging stations and access to essential services like grocery shopping at Spar for late arrivals. While the airport provides easy and quick security procedures, it also features duty-free shops with a decent selection of products.
A clean airport and very efficient, as usual in Spain, security is only 5 minutes. A fairly big airport for an island. We were quite late because of a delayed transfer, and we still managed to get there before our flight and even go duty free shopping because of the airport's efficiency! The airport has excellent public transport. The staff at the bus stop are very helpful and guide tourists on what bus to go on. Cheap and fairly frequent transport.
Noemi — Google review
Gran Canaria Airport is a well-organized and modern airport with smooth connections to both European and inter-island flights. ✅ Positives: • Clear signage and easy navigation inside the terminals. • Good variety of shops, cafés, and duty-free options. • Efficient security checks with relatively short waiting times compared to larger airports. • Public transport (bus connections) to Las Palmas and the south of the island is reliable and affordable. ⚠️ Could be improved: • Sometimes crowded during peak holiday season, which can make check-in and boarding a bit stressful. • Limited quiet seating areas if you need to rest between flights. Overall, it’s a pleasant airport with friendly staff and a good passenger experience, making travel to and from Gran Canaria smooth and enjoyable.

If you could, please get the lounge access. The setting is superb, even have the terrace to view the flight and lazy chair. The display of drinks and food are amazing and felt like in the store. I enjoyed the time here!

Good modern airport with all the latest facilities. Love the massive selection of shops here, especially Ele Hop (cow shop!) the Spanish version of a badget shop, that's super low price, almost a temu shop! (but better quality). It's a very user friendly airport and you are soon through.
Jody B — Google review
This is a wonderful, modern airport! It's exceptionally clean and offers plenty of space for waiting for your flight. We especially appreciated the large children's play area, which was a huge bonus.

Nice polite staff Andriana , representing Jet2 Holidays, delivered outstanding customer service — a true 10 out of 10. She is an asset to the company and represents the brand at a level comparable with the best operators. I travel frequently, living in Florida and currently journeying to Cyprus, and this has been one of the best customer service experiences I’ve received so far between the US and Europe.”

Horrible, ignorant and vile staff. Due to travel Thurs 30/10. My 16 year daughter ended up in hospital for the night with severe stomach problems. After a night on iv antibiotics and fluids she was declared fit to fly. Managed to book a Jet2 late flight for the ridiculous sum of £943 to Birmingham, despite needing to go to East Midlands. The only seats available to book were 5 extra legroom seats at £38 each, Could not book them as insurance limit was £1000 for travel and thought, great at least we will be able to sit together. Was first in the queue when gate opened. Had already explained the emergency we had to one member of staff, also that I was worried as had not booked seats, got boarding passes etc, he said there would be not problem. I did say that I was disappointed with Jet2 as we had misleading information regarding transferring our flight, hence having to pay the new astronomical amount. I think this irked the Jet2 woman in the first place. Went to the desk, no record of our booking. At his point the Jet2 woman came over, told us to stand to the side and phoned the office who confirmed our booking. When she came back, she started berating me, how old was my daughter, why had I booked her as a child if she is 16 and generally being very unpleasant. I pointed out that this is how the Jet2 bookings system does it and I had booked properly, plus paid a full adult price anyway. We checked in and were given seats 2C and 17A. I asked if there was no way we could sit together as my daughter was still fragile and upset but was told it was not possible as the flight was full and basically it was my fault. When I actually went on the flight in seat 17A, it transpired that they had deliberately separated my daughter and I, I presume out of spite. The people in seats 17B & C, who checked in about 30 mins after us had booked seats in row 10 but were told at check in that they had been upgraded to the extra legroom seats. My daughter could have sat next to me no problem but it was engineered so she could not. Exactly how callous and evil do you have to be to treat people like this? Especially people who had paid more to be on that flight than anyone else present. This was all at the end of the most awful couple of days and made the situation so much worse, which I did not think was possible!

Check-in desk showing on departures board. Queue for 30 minutes, get to check-in desk, “we open 2 hours before departure”. Ridiculous! Waste of time queuing! MAKE IT CLEARER!!!!!!!!! We’re flying back to Stansted which recommend arriving at least 3 hours before departure! Not helpful at all. Will have to queue again now! Not the brightest, doesn’t give much time for people to spend money on food, drink etc!! On second queuing, 2h10 before flight (queue takes 30 minutes minimum from where we joined), heard someone behind ask staff “is this the queue for Stansted?” Their reply “yes, but it isn’t open yet”. Do they expect people to join the very back of the queue 2hrs before departure?
