Lake
Spas & Wellness
Lake Vouliagmeni, located in the Athenian Riviera, is a scenic natural wonder with thermal mineral water. It is part of the National NATURA 2000 list and home to unique organisms like the Garra Rufa fish known for skin exfoliation. The lake's crystal-clear waters are fed by underground hot springs, offering a constant temperature year-round. Visitors can swim and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery.
We had an amazing experience here! The doctor fish were incredibly therapeutic, they took a little bit to get used to but once I did it was so fun. It was really an awesome unique experience! Our waitress Olga was incredibly attentive and made our entire experience amazing! Thank you especially for Olga! We also had several drinks and food all of which were delicious! The service was also very nice and fast, I highly recommend checking the lake out on your visit to Greece!

A hidden gem for sure - more of a beach club than we were expecting but it’s very relaxed with a great array of amenities (showers, bar, restaurant). It’s a beautiful setting and the doctor fish were a great add to the experience. Staff aren’t the most welcoming or attentive but the food was tasty. Would recommend!

Had a wonderful time at the lake today, we got there for about 11-11.30 (via metro and bus, took an hour) and queued for 10 minutes. Didn’t ask for student identification and we easily managed to get two sunbeds as there was still many available. It was lovely vibe. Foods quite pricey for small portions and not a lot of vegetarian options, just tomato basil pasta or margherita pizza as the two hot mains. We spent a few hours here, loved the fish. Water was SO salty! Not seen anyone else post about how salty it was, suprised me a lot! The lake was pretty cold despite it saying 25 degrees but fair enough. Changing facilities were good. Only two cubicles for female toilets though which surprised me. I enjoyed the experience as a whole!

This place is just suuuuper cool👍👍 Enjoyed it just a to the beginning of March, sunny weather. Sun is very warm, but not burning, temperature in the lake is very refreshing. Lake is surrounded by the high rocks, so there is no wind there, just a smooth breeze. All what you need on weekend!! and it is very close to Athens 👍
Maxim N — Google review
Absolutely great idea to visit this lake. Come early as the sunbeds get occupied pretty fast by lunch time. No sunscreen allowed into the water, which is perfect in my opinion. Food and drinka available as well as wheelchair access.
Diana S — Google review
This is a spectacular lake and chill beach club. It is such great spot to spend the day but the bad service of the staff there really let it down. I visited in June 2024 and had a wonderful experience in a cabana with my family. I even wrote an 3-page feature article about the Athens Riviera mentioning it and Abraovato for Robb Report ANZ where I was the assistant editor at the time. This year my visit today was still beautiful but the service was underwhelming. There was a mix up with my booking on the door which resulted in the blonde female manager in charge being very rude to on the door acting aggressively from the start. Then after settling down to read in our pre-booked lounge chairs for 50 euro (not what we thought wee were getting really) we ordered mineral water and coffee and decided to make the most of where we were seated. But after our first swim we were then surrounded by two male lifeguards, a swarthy and loud old male pool cleaner, and another two older male service people who gossiped very loudly right behind us for over 25 -30 minutes which made me very uncomfortable and made it hard to concentrate on drawing and reading (let alone sleeping which would have been nice). I didn't come to the beach club to sit around with a bunch of strange men who were supposed to be working and weren't. Every time i turned around they were staring at me. The place was pretty empty so we asked to please be moved to a quieter spot and we did move to some chairs right around the back of the lake where we continued reading and sketching the lake. We ordered a salad and a cocktail and moved all our own stuff to some new sun beds that were just in the sun. Again empty beds around us for as far as the eye could see Then we were getting prepared to relax when the blonde female manager came back over and told us we had to pay another 60 euro to stay on the sunbeds. So instead of staying until 6.00pm and eating and drinking as we had intended and having a snooze there went to the One &Only for lunch in Glyfada where the service, pool and bar is impeccable. This beach club could have made our stay so pleasant and enjoyable and the unprofessional staff really let it down. Had they offered us an upgrade to start with and some good service we could have had a great time. I have told so many people about this place and now I will not continue to because there is a nasty attitude in the staff that is truly inexplicable.
Belinda A — Google review
Everything is great. But look on this toilets.??? 17 euros entrance ticket and you can not fix it. You can see a neighbor in another cabin from the hole in that plastic cover. The door is not closing and the button with a mechanism outside
Valeriia M — Google review
Very beautiful place. But the staff ist handeling und the equipment during opening houers in the afternoon which is very noisy and disturbing. They even take your chairs away you pay for and put yor stuff somewhere else 2h before closing. If one charges about 40 EUR entrance fee clarly wrong.

Restaurant
APLÓ Astir Beach is a renowned beach club and restaurant located in Kavouri, run by the founder's three daughters and their children. The staff is known for their exceptional hospitality, making guests feel welcome and remembered. While it can be pricey and busy on weekends, visiting during June offers a more relaxed experience with slightly lower prices. The restaurant offers excellent food made with high-quality ingredients, ensuring a delightful dining experience by the beautiful Asteras beach.
I saw a lot of bad reviews so I was hesitant to come here, but Giannis (might be screwing up his name, 21 year old young man) was our server and he went above and beyond. Could not have dreamed of a better place to spend the day. Thank you Giannis!
Sarah T — Google review
We ordered a pear salad, Bao pork, the shrimp plate and a kids bolognese pasta. The pear salad was edible, everything else: the boa bun itself is bad quality and seems old, the meat inside very little and tasteless and the cabbage hard and dry. The shrimp looked as if it was made by kids who were experimenting with plain mustard and feta, it’s sauce bitter, squashed and salty. Even the pasta was barely ok, the meat bolognese sauce smelled like days old and tastes like cheap meat. The expensive restaurant seemed trying only to show good looking plates with not so great quality ingredients with too much happening and really no basic cooking skills. The hostess asked us while popping her gum how much she should add for service as tips.
Jessica H — Google review
I had the daily cheese pie which was made fresh and quite good. My husband had ham and cheese toast which he said was good. We were originally given drink and food menus that were absolutely disgusting. Leftover food and drink on them, which I promptly returned to the host stand. The service definitely could be better but the food we ordered was okay.
Amy ( — Google review
Bad food with horrible service combines. Culminates in a horrible experience. It you are ok waiting for deep fried beach food 2 hours, then this your place!
August F — Google review
This place is run by a sexiest general manager who refused to speak to my wife when there was a problem with our reservation. He offended her by saying “here in Greece the men speak to the men not the women”. My wife and I were born in Greece and speak Greek. This was not a comment bc we are tourists, it’s because he is a jerk. He does not deserve your time, energy, or business. You also don’t need to spend 18 euros for a Greek salad with no cucumbers.
John T — Google review
Worst beach club in the area. The owner is the worst part of the “experience”. They are unaccommodating and don’t understand hospitality. Beyond that, the owner is incredibly sexist, stating that “I won’t speak to the women of the family. Here in Greece we talk to the men”. We are Greek, and that’s the furthest thing from the truth. Reprehensible behavior from this place. We’ve come here quite a bit in the past, but this will be the last time. Steer clear if you want to relax. Such a disappointment.
Travis M — Google review
The restaurant is fitting the overall Astir beach experience: a tourist trap offering overpriced, tasteless food. The only reason it's popular is its proximity to the beach.
Dimitris P — Google review
We arrived at 1:10pm and were the first people to arrive , we had to pour our own water and nobody offered to help. Being the first there and other arriving and then getting their food before us. We asked why our food was taking so long because we had a flight to catch shortly later, the waiter had said we orderd a lot more food. But that's not an excuse for it to take longer because if we put in order in before the other people why does it not get cooked before. There were empty glasses with no water and nobody offered to pour water in. The food wasn't that amazing i had pasta and it was pretty hard, there was one waiter doing all of the work running around. I do not recommend this place in other words do not come here.

Nestled along the stunning Athenian Riviera, Vouliagmeni Lake is a captivating natural wonder that deserves a spot on your travel itinerary. Recognized as part of the National NATURA 2000 list, this freshwater lake boasts unique geological features and an underwater cave stretching over 3 kilometers, shrouded in mystery. The surrounding hills create a picturesque backdrop for visitors looking to unwind by the water's edge.
I had a great time at Lake Vouliagmeni in Athens! The entrance fee is €17, which includes a comfortable sunbed by the lake. It’s easy to reach by car. In the lake, small fish help clean the dead skin off your feet—it was really interesting! I also enjoyed a coffee there for around €5. The area is beautiful and the neighborhood is lovely. If you want to eat, I recommend Restaurant Koutales, just 500 meters away. Overall, I highly recommend Lake Vouliagmeni for a relaxing and enjoyable day!
Patricia P — Google review
Amazing spot ! During our 4 days trip in Athen we went down to Vouliagmeni and this was one of my favorite place. We paid 19€ per person on weekends (just the entrance fee) and then you have several chairs at your disposal. Could seem expensive but at least infrastructure are up to date and clean. Very easy for people with reduced mobility, it has great things dedicated for them, from special area to a machine to get down to the water. Quite expensive but worth it !

We called ahead during the week to check availability, and they confirmed there was space. When we arrived, there was construction noise from the site where stands were being set up for a RedBull competition. At the entrance, they informed ticket buyers that they needed to accept the noise and that no refunds would be issued later due to the disturbance. I wish they had mentioned this when we called, as we wouldn’t have visited that day! But since we were already there, we decided to buy tickets and go in. Once inside, we found very few people and were greeted by the beautiful and impressive atmosphere of the lake. Despite the noise, it was initially nice to spend time there. The water in the lake isn’t spectacular, but it was pleasant enough to get in and out and enjoy the surroundings. It’s fun to sit with your feet in the water and let the fish nibble at them. The area is clean, and the toilets and changing rooms are well-maintained. We got a pizza and fries from the restaurant, and it was okay. The real discomfort began when more people arrived. For such an enclosed space, there were far too many sunbeds placed side by side. Unlike a beach, where sounds dissipate, the noise here echoed. The noise from the people was far more disturbing than the construction work. Even after the construction ended, the noise from the crowd was still overwhelming. If there were fewer sunbeds, spaced out more, it could have been a pleasant experience. But not only do they charge high ticket prices, they’ve also crammed in far more sunbeds than the space can handle. It’s impossible to enjoy a peaceful time with all the echoing noise from the surrounding people. So, if you do decide to experience it, I recommend choosing a time when it’s likely to be as empty as possible.

Beautiful lake was created after the roof of a cave collapsed. You can have a group part here. Need to purchase a ticket to enter.
Titanium V — Google review
Very nice place. Two remarks: 1- The internet tickets give wrong information that it's not tickets available and at the ticket box we bought and had a fantastic time. 2- At the double shower next the wood changing boxes only the one had the handle to open the water.
Nikos49k — Google review
We loved it a lot. Yes it is a bit pricey (17 euros), but you get included sits and the area is genuinely clean and quiet. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and having our feet cleaned by the fish. We got there from Athens by metro and then taxi, as the bus number 122 did not come.
Theodora M — Google review
Love this lake! I’ve been twice. One with my best friends and once with my 23 yr old son. We all had a great visit here. It’s 18€ to get in for the day but we usually only stay a couple hours and feel like it’s worth it. There are chairs and loungers with umbrellas and wait staff to bring you drinks, which are reasonably priced. It all feels very bougie! Then there’s the lake, which is beautiful. There are little fish in the lake that eat your dead skin like in the fish spas. If you’re not into that, just keep your body moving and they will leave you alone. If you are into that, be as still as you can and they will come. It tickles and is fun! Also if you just want to put your feet in so they can clean your feet, there is a bench where you can do that. I have also been told by several locals that the restaurant here ks very good but I have not eaten there. This is definitely a worthwhile 1/2 day trip from Athens. We took a taxi but you could also use the metro. The first time I visited the lake on the way to Poseidon’s temple in the south and it was a perfect day trip!

The location and the overall atmosphere is unique. The combination of the loud bar crowd and the dinners may not be unique - especially when busy. The service needs to be improved a lot. We visited on August 22nd and requested a second bottle of the same wine to be open and served when the first was exhausted. This did not happen. The sommelier was nowhere to be found and the waiters kept forgetting to fill our glasses. When we requested the bottle to be left on the table so we could serve ourselves to make up for the lack of service they refused saying that the restaurant did not have any icebuckets! This was not true because they had the water is ice buckets. So our late second botlle of wine appeared and "disappeared" once again and our glasses were soon left empty. The solution is probably to avoid busy times. The food was outstanding.

Moorings is a chic seaside hangout located in Vouliagmeni, offering panoramic bay views and a contemporary atmosphere blended with elegance. The restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and features a roof garden for guests to enjoy the natural landscape and moored yachts. It's an ideal spot to savor Greek meze like ouzo and well-cooked octopus while detached from the city's crowdedness, providing a feeling of calmness and relaxation.
Always a great armosphere and fresh environment, especially when the weather is good. The place was renovated and has high end shops around for you to browse or buy, as well as valet. Food is good and service is fast and cheerful to assist you. They have great coffee, so I totally recommend for a chill day in the most beautiful part of southern Athens!

We had an amazing meal at Moorings! The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, and the martinis were perfectly mixed. On top of that, the view was absolutely breathtaking! Dining by the water with such a stunning backdrop made the evening unforgettable. Also amazing shopping in the marina! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vouliagmeni.

We were astounded by the beauty of this restaurant. The incredible view overlooking the water, the marble top tables, and the clean, elegant black and white color palette throughout the entire space created a very professional, business, and polished ambiance. Since we had a large party of six, we decided to order a bit of everything from the menu. Each dish emphasized quality and presentation. Some of my favorites included the “crab rangoons” (shrimp filled with cheese), the spicy salmon sushi, the feta salad, the octopus, and the squid ink linguine. However, nearly everything we ordered was delicious. There was a good balance of Asian-inspired dishes like sushi and the “shrimp rangoon,” as well as Italian-inspired dishes like tiramisu and a few of the pastas. I also wanted to highlight the exceptional quality of the desserts. The tiramisu was exquisite, while the chocolate mousse and the fruit-flavored one were both very impressive. Each person in our group had a different favorite dessert. Is this the best value meal? No, but it’s an elite restaurant experience that’s meant to celebrate an occasion.

I would give it a 5 star because if any restaurant or cafe opens with this view no matter who is the operator it would be lovely because it has a lovely open sea view and marina view .. thats why i rated it 5 stars for atmosphere.. the service is okay the waiter is not very cooperative i asked for avocado toast with the rye bread which is on the menu and just add scrambled eggs to it but he said no its not possible .. he says scrambled eggs only comes with english bread which is weird all breakfast spots have side scrambled eggs.. the place has a bar lounge vibe but at the same time serves breakfast until 1 .. good variety overall for a quick bite at a random time of the day..

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moorings Restaurant in the Athens Riviera, and it was an exceptional experience. The dinner was superb, with each dish meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. The seafood, in particular, stood out – fresh, expertly cooked, and delicious. The sweets were the perfect end to the meal, with each dessert being as delightful as the last. The surroundings of the restaurant add to the charm, offering a beautiful view of the seaside and yachts. The ambiance is serene and picturesque, making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening. The culinary offerings at Moorings are equally impressive. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, bursting with flavor and creativity, showcasing the finest ingredients. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Moorings Restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. With Mr. Emile leading the way in hospitality, you are in for a truly memorable evening filled with exquisite food and unparalleled service. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this remarkable restaurant!

Prime location food is quite good. Obviously expensive because of its location. Some people may find it a bit snobby. Even if there are a few empty tables and you asked to move to one of the prime tables outside, they may say no it is reserved even when you know it’s not reserved. This happened to us we were there for an hour and a half and no one came to the prime tables. We did have to send the tuna back because it was undercooked. My wife prefers it more cooked & we explicitly told them when we ordered how we like the tuna to be cooked. They did exchange without any argument & brought it back correct back. Peak season definitely book ahead.

Situated in the luxurious Astir Palace, Matsuhisa Athens provides stunning views of the Saronic Gulf and features a menu that includes Chef Omakases tasting courses, seasonal delights, and an extensive selection of sushi.
One of the best Japanese food experiences ever! This place is located right on the cliffs above a gorgeous beach with fantastic sunset views. The food quality and flavors are simply exceptional. Highly recommended!

Wonderful setting and view, the vibe is great and the food is delicious. We had the special menu and a lot of dishes were different and interesting except perhaps the last dish which was a noodle soup. Excessively filling menu and great cocktails! The whiskey sour was one of the best ones I have had! Well done to the bar man and the staff. 😊

TLDR: Please do yourself a favour and avoid Matsuhisa Athens, as it does NOT live up to one’s expectations. To start off, the atmosphere is great and the view is beautiful. The food is mediocre at best as a whole, taking this restaurant’s reputation into account. The matsuhisa salad was completely salty and slightly sour (complete lack of balance flavour wise), which also sabotaged the tuna sashimi, which was actually not so bad had it been served separately. The waiter’s response when we informed him regarding this was unacceptable to say the least. All pieces of tempura were completely tasteless and of low quality (especially the shrimps). The overpriced sashimi were not anything special (of course the valley shrimps were great, but this is always the case for such an amazing ingredient). The hand rolls were not anything special, with the exception of the spicy tuna perhaps, which were one of the few things that went right. The waiting staff are not flat out rude, but there are many small bad gestures which are unacceptable for the standards that such expensive restaurants are held to. Simply a horrible experience. Needless to say, I will not be visiting again and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who values his time, money and taste.

The location is breathtaking, especially at sunset with the sea right in front of you. The beef fillet was cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Service was friendly and the atmosphere elegant. Prices are definitely high, but if you’re looking for a special night out in Athens, it’s worth the experience.

I can recommend it, but not necessarily for the food. The food is good, but that's about it and definitely not worth the prices. Great cocktails. The atmosphere, especially outside is great. The wait staff was terrific, however the lady i spoke to from reservations was rather rude and abrupt. No go for this type of establishment.

The atmosphere is both elegant and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Kostas. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly enhance the dining experience, ensuring that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. From menu suggestions to timely service, Kostas goes the extra mile to make your visit memorable. Make sure to enjoy the breathtaking sunset while savoring your meal—it’s a sight that will leave a lasting impression!

Delicious sushi and the best views in town! Outstanding food, we enjoyed the wagyu tacos, wagyu nigiri, spicy tuna hand rolls, sushi negi toro, and salmon skin cut roll. Everything was so fresh and amazing. The wagyu melts in your mouth. Enjoy the finest views around with exceptional service! Will be back!

Stunning location, but the food should match the price. If you have ever eaten at Nobu anywhere the menu is much the same… only not as good, we got all the signature dishes, yellow tail sashimi, new style sashimi, miso cod… and nothing was as good as the Nobu in Melbourne… except double the price. The staff were amazing and the restaurant itself is beautiful and the view spectacular.

Very nice waffle and ice cream flavors! The coffee was also very good! At a very nice location , with beautiful view and polite service. 3 cold coffees and one waffle with Nutella and 3 scoops cost 25€. Recommended!

I recently visited Waffle House in Greece, which is known more for its artisanal ice cream than the American breakfast chain you might expect. Although I usually avoid dairy ice cream due to being lactose intolerant back in the States, I’ve noticed that I don’t seem to have the same reaction when eating dairy in Greece or other countries. Still, it’s not my personal preference, as I don’t enjoy the lingering aftertaste. I tried a scoop of pistachio and a scoop of vanilla bean. While the flavors didn’t quite suit me, the pistachio scoop was a clear favorite in my group. Everyone ordered two scoops, and pistachio was the common choice across the board. It was rich, nutty, and full of flavor. Many of my friends also ordered the Ferrero Rocher chocolate, and even the kids eagerly finished their servings and started asking their parents for bites. Safe to say, the ice cream was a hit. One thing I loved about Waffle House was the creative variety in how you could enjoy your treat—waffle cones, waffle bowls, or even a waffle slice right in your cup. That detail added something really special to the experience. For dairy lovers, this place has a lot to offer. They even have take-home packs for individuals or families, which is a great option for those wanting to indulge later. The only downside was the lack of dairy-free or vegan ice cream options, which would have been nice for those with strict dietary needs. Fortunately, there’s another ice cream shop right across the street that does offer non-dairy alternatives, so you’re not completely out of luck. Overall: If you enjoy traditional, dairy-based desserts, Waffle House in Greece is a must-visit. With creative presentation, flavorful scoops (especially the pistachio), and a fun, family-friendly vibe, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. I’d just love to see them add some dairy-free options in the future.

Perfect for indulging those late-night sweet cravings with friends or family. The waffle with a scoop of banoffee and another of milk ice cream, topped with dulce de leche sauce, is a must (thank me later)! The mosaic ice cream also deserves a special mention. Giving it 4 stars because, while it’s hands down the best ice cream I had during my trip, it could be a bit richer and more complex (slightly less sweet with more depth). Still, I had a great time… and had to come back a second time.

The waffle and ice cream were delicious and of high quality! 🧇 While the waffle burger was cute, it seemed a bit small; the classic waffle is a better choice!

Amazing waffle, despite the chaotic experience (too many people/crowds in high season!). Nice to be able to sit down and eat properly.
