Marsaxlokk Open Market is a vibrant and picturesque fish market located in the charming fishing village of Marsaxlokk, in the southern part of Malta. The market takes place every Sunday and offers an authentic cultural experience where local fishermen sell their fresh catch of the day. Visitors can explore the traditional luzzus boats adorned with colorful designs and the iconic 'eye of Osiris' symbol.
What a wonderful experience to be on Sunday morning! I never expected this place to be so busy! There are so many things and products to buy: souvenirs, fresh fruit and vegetable, fresh fish, local sweets, herbs, spices, alcohol, sports shoes, clothes...you name it! It is nice to have a stroll along the water admiring the deep blue colour of the boats eating tasty icecream! Then have lunch in one of the cosy cafes. Do not miss this colourful busy place ❤

The Open Market at Marsaxlokk Harbour was lovely to walk around, we picked up a few nice souvenirs to take home and enjoyed looking at all the local treats. I highly recommend the pistachio cream kannoli - they were absolutely DELICIOUS and I’m still dreaming about them a week later 😍 it was a nice spot to walk around the harbour and take in the views too!
Gem T — Google review
Amazing experience for understanding Malta. Endless huge street market and good place to buy some souvenirs. Specially, pistachio spread and liquor of malta fruits are recommendable. And should have dinner or lunch with fresh fish dishes. You may feel the " fresh" literally.
Sylvia — Google review
Sea promenade of the harbor is very crowded with market selling souvenirs and original Maltese sweets which you can find much cheaper anywhere lese of the island. Not such a pleasant experience as it became very over crowded most of the time
Tomi V — Google review
My favorite was the handmade pressed flower earrings. A big market with a variety of souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, souvenirs, handmade products, vegetables and of course fish. The traditional maltese sweets and pastries seemed overpriced, but for free they offer a taste of pistachio creme, bajtra (cactus liquor), and some sweets I don't even know the name of. It gets very busy and crowded, and it was also kind of hard to take photos because there were too many people, but beside that it was a really nice experience, the whole market has a lively atmosphere, and it's a must if you visit Marsaxlokk.

If you visita Malta, Marsaxlokk open market Is a must visit on Sunday mornings! Note, if you want to eat at One of the resturants on Sunday next to the market with a view, i would recomend makin resurvations. I highly recomend the visit. Also, from here you can take a small local tour boat to see the beautiful bays and caves near

Definitely was a very busy place on a Sunday. Lots of stuff and booths with lots selling same stuff. Cherries I grabbed were good. It is worth checking out if you like souvenirs and trinkets.

The restaurant takes its seafood seriously and offers a menu that highlights the local catch with traditional and innovative dishes. A Michelin experience. All the food so beautifully presented, and the taste definitely matched. Exquisite food. Top notch service. Delicious bubbly to compliment the cuisine. A must do when visiting Marsaxlokk. Well done to the team.

Very nice lunch. All the dishes were perfect, we will come back to test the rest of the menu ! The apple millefeuille was amazing ! Thank you

FIne quality, delectable, fresh Mediterranean seafood at its finest 10/10. Wide variety of fresh seafood to choose from - showed by the chef with recommendation on the preparation. Service was friendly, efficient and timely 10/10. Vibe is classy, but not stuffy. If you want to avoid the chaotic waterfront restaurants and yet still have the view of both the water and people, this is a great spot. We really enjoyed our dining experience. Please book in advance as this place is popular even in low season

A Hidden Gem for Seafood Lovers Tartarus in Malta is an absolute delight for seafood enthusiasts. We had the catch of the day, which was perfectly cooked and full of fresh, delicate flavors—more than enough to share between two. The wine selection is exceptionally well-curated, featuring rare finds, including a beautifully balanced sweet wine from Chile that was a standout. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff are knowledgeable and passionate about what they serve. If you’re looking for a place that values quality ingredients and expert pairings, Tartarus is a must-visit!

the price range is a little high thoguh it tastes good. but the service wasn't satisfying. I asked the server how to eat one of the dishes I ordered, but he said use knife and fork. quite embarrassing.

One of the better restaurants in Malta and Marsaxlokk. They have recently refurbished and made an excellent job it. The service and food remained at the same high standards and level of before. Well done to Stephen and James. Highly recommend the fresh fish, the linguine with lobster, their prawn carpaccio, and more. Definitely and must visit.

It is easy to see how this place had a 2024 Michelin mention. The food was crafted with sophistication and thoughtfulness. The olive bites were an absolute revelation and the fish was fresh and savory. A definite must if you are in town. Prices were extremely competitive too

Marsaxlokk Harbour is a picturesque spot on the southern coast of Malta, known for its vibrant fishing scene. The harbor is filled with traditional Maltese fishing boats called Luzzijiet, and local fishermen can be seen mending their nets along the streets. Along the waterfront, there are numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes offering fresh seafood and scenic views of the sea. The open-air fish market is a popular attraction where visitors can find an array of local produce.
Marsaxlokk Harbour is another must-visit spot while staying in Malta. The best time to come is on Sunday, when the traditional fish market takes place. You can always find fresh seafood here, although most of the stalls are filled with souvenirs, clothes, and other goods. The harbor with its colorful traditional boats creates a very picturesque atmosphere, making it a perfect place for beautiful photos.
Andrii A — Google review
The Harbour is a lovely spot with a pleasant view and a variety of local restaurants. However, access can be tricky and the crowds of tourists can be a bit off-putting. The market can be interesting on Sundays, but on other days it's disappointing. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit, but it's not a place I'd recommend as a priority.
Filipe S — Google review
Lovely place to visit for an afternoon. Market is there until late afternoon. Lots of restaurants. 30 to 40 minutes on the bus from Valletta. Definitely take a boat trip for an hour
Andrew T — Google review
Marsaxlokk was such a lovely surprise! 🇲🇹✨ A super chill place to walk around, especially at the end of September — no crowds at all 🙌🌤️ Just locals, colorful boats 🛶, and that peaceful seaside vibe 🌊 We came here after visiting St. Peter’s Pool 🏖️ and it was the perfect way to end the day — calm, pretty, and full of charm 😍 ⚠️ Just a heads-up: be careful with restaurants! Lots of tourist traps 🍽️💸 — prices can be high for what you get. Still, 100% worth visiting. One of the most authentic and relaxing spots in Malta 💙
Charly C — Google review
Marsaxlokk Harbour is a truly fantastic location that showcases the charm and authenticity of Malta. We visited on a Sunday, when the lively market was in full swing. While it was quite busy, the vibrant atmosphere only added to the experience. The market itself is a treasure trove of local delights, offering fresh Maltese produce, seafood, and beautifully crafted local goods. Strolling along the harbor, with traditional fishing boats dotting the water, was an unforgettable sight. The combination of stunning scenery, rich culture, and the welcoming spirit of the vendors made this one of the best experiences we had in Malta. For anyone visiting the island, Marsaxlokk is a must-see destination—especially on a Sunday for the full market experience!
Marius G — Google review
Nice little bay. Load of restaurants, benches to sit on and colorful fisherman boats. 25 minutes walk to St. Peter's pool.
Agnieszka K — Google review
This is mostly a fish village. Its very picturesque and vibrant. You can stroll the market (which is more expensive than markets in Valleta), and you can also take a boat to st. Peter's bay which is a must. With a littlw digging you can est great fish at that location.
Athina M — Google review
Pretty little harbour full of fresh fish restaurants. Try café Paris for good value fish of the day or Rizzu for a more expensive, exclusive experience. Walk along and visit the cat hotel too. Make sure you stay for sun set too.

Restaurant
Roots Restaurant in Marsaxlokk, Malta is a family-owned establishment that offers a modern take on Mediterranean cuisine. Situated by the colorful harbor, it stands out for its sophisticated preparation of freshly caught seafood. The restaurant's elegant seafood starters and mains are highly recommended, as well as their generous platters of fresh, steamed, and fried fish and seafood.
One of the best meals I had during my week in Malta – seriously unforgettable. We started with the octopus carpaccio and it was absolutely incredible: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, I picked a red grouper straight from the fish display – they baked it in the oven and served it with vegetables and potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of The restaurant has a terrace just across the road, right on the seafront, and the view is fantastic, especially at sunset. You can make a reservation (which is a good idea), but we got lucky – they asked us to come back in 20 minutes and a table had freed up by then. Totally worth the short wait. Would 100% go back!

Great seafood restaurant, serving fresh and delicious food. A bit small so I would recommend to reserve the table in advance. Staff is very friendly and kind. I wish I took the photos of other starter and the main; maybe next time 🙂

Roots Restaurant, located at 67 Xatt is-Sajjieda in Marsaxlokk, is a true gem on the Maltese culinary map. Overlooking the picturesque fishing harbor, it offers not only delicious food but also a charming atmosphere that reflects the soul of this traditional village. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with warm hospitality and a relaxed seaside vibe. The menu focuses strongly on fresh seafood, which is exactly what you’d expect in Marsaxlokk. Dishes are beautifully prepared, balancing simplicity with creativity. The octopus starter is tender and flavorful, while the grilled fish of the day truly showcases the freshness of the catch. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and every plate looks thoughtfully presented. For those who prefer meat or vegetarian options, there are also well-crafted alternatives that maintain the same high standard. Service is another highlight at Roots. The staff is attentive, friendly, and eager to make recommendations based on daily specials or local wines. They make you feel welcome without being intrusive. Special thanks to Nika, who was really helpful and served us with a great wine and fish. Overall, Roots Restaurant delivers a perfect combination of setting, flavor, and service. Whether you’re visiting Marsaxlokk for a casual lunch or a special dinner, it’s a place worth experiencing. Highly recommended!

Every dish is a delight, and the wine is simply the best! 🍷 Everything feels perfectly balanced, from the atmosphere to the presentation. One of the best dining experiences in Malta – I’ll definitely be back!

This small establishment is in the harbour at Marsaxlokk and is well worth a visit. On receipt of our drinks we were also given some complimentary slices of Maltese bread, a tomato dip and some olives. What a great welcome! For our main courses both myself and my wife enjoyed a filleted sea bass, as it was one of the fish of the day. The fish was well-presented and was cooked well so that it effectively melted in my mouth. Fantastic! The accompanying vegetables and fries were also a delight.
James O — Google review
Tasty food and great location! Seafood was fresh and flavorful. Would have loved to see some fish included in the seafood platter. Prices are a bit higher than other coastal spots, but overall a nice dining experience by the water.
Salma R — Google review
Excellent fresh seafood! We had an Octopus carpaccio. And a sea food platter: large enough to share! The sauce of the platter is worldclass! Loved every drop. Dry rosé wine fits perfectly with the food. A fabulous place to eat.
Daniel À — Google review
If you’re looking for an affordable yet quality sit down seafood restaurant this is it. The portions are actually quite generous: the octopus carpaccio was so fresh and the risotto despite the hot day out was so flavorful I would recommend this one big time! Despite not having a sea view terrace, nothing about this place felt overwhelmingly touristy and you can tell the owners care about the quality of the service.

Għar Dalam Cave, Malta's oldest prehistoric site, offers a fascinating journey into the past. The cave houses the remains of extinct animals like native dwarf elephants, hippopotamuses, and deer, along with Paleolithic art that provides evidence of human presence on Malta over 7,400 years ago. The Joseph Baldacchino Hall within the cave showcases these ancient bones and artifacts from the Ice Age.
A very nice experience especially during hot days. Super interesting museum with very high quality souvenir shop plus local goods. Also nice toilette and some cold/hot drinks to buy. Super exciting for kids but not too long, also an outdoor path and the cave itself is worth to visit. If you have a scientific sense and/or have curious kids, a must. I do not get it why some people do not like it…
Davidbogyo — Google review
This cave and the small museum were a very interesting glimpse into Malta history. Nice stop to learn a bit of Malta's past. It was also nice to get away from the crowds for a while.
Jeff S — Google review
Great and worth visit. Everything in the museum is well explained, there is nice video to watch if you don't want to read. Great souvenir shop. Friendly staff. From museum building you walk to cave under pine trees, there are benches and even area with picnic tables. Very peaceful. Cave is significantly colder than outside but you will be fine for few minutes. There are stalagmites and stalactits. In the museum building is also a panel where you can test your knowledge. You can definitely learn a lot here about how ice-age period affected Malta and Europe and more (eg about elephant teeth).
Jana S — Google review
Mildly interesting cave that you can explore for about 85m. Good signage and a downloadable audio tour so that is great. The old exhibition hall is well worth seeing and at a different time of the year I am sure the garden looks quite different. Worth a visit but not necessarily a special trip.
Phil M — Google review
I am sorry I am giving this 4 stars. It is ok, I was expecting dinosaur bones but was disappointed to see just elephant bones. Animals that used to live in Malta Island decades ago. But not much excavated bone displays to see. The cave was nice, but strong mould smell and I recommend you cover you face from the strong smell. Lots of historical trees and garden, but not my thing. It was not busy when I went during early September week around 1pm. I bought my ticket online at official Heritage website, I also had a combo ticket with Borg in-Nadur. Which was a good cheap ticket for €13 for 2 people. Would I recommend this? Not really, but others who like these sort of things might enjoy it.
David O — Google review
Ghar Dalam is a cave which has been formed by the erosion during the melting down of the ice age. Fossil, prehistoric animal bones where found and later during world war 2 was used as an ammunition store under ground. Its a must to visit and you can hear the documentary through your phone by means of Q.R.
Noel B — Google review
Interesting spot to visit. Small but well curated museum with some interesting exhibits. And of course the cave it's self. This won't take a lot of time to look around fully, but worth going to see. There are even some benches and tables in the garden made up of endemic Maltese plants and the ruins of a Roman villa where you could sit a while and relax or take lunch. Easily accessible by bus from Valletta or by car, with it's own car park and very little traffic once you reach the South of Malta.
Matthew J — Google review
Would be helpful if those who leave a review here and explain in more detail. Wasting time here finish in 15 mins. The problem is we travelling all the way by bus trip to here more than hour an a half. Plus pay €13 for 2 people entrance for nothing obviously.

I am grateful for this establishment! They open early, unlike most other breakfast restaurants, and were reasonably prompt when informed that there was a flight to catch. The omelette was delightful and the seating by the sea offered lovely vistas (not directly opposite the restaurant, but rather diagonally on the left when facing the sea). The seafood was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The location by the water was stunning.

We had a quick lunch at the restaurant. Good atmosphere. We ordered the €36 platter for 2 adults and child. It was pretty good and well presented. Nice delicious sea food. By the time we finished eating it was packed. I did visit the toilet and it was not dirty as previously posted.
Yoda W — Google review
The view is nice as you can see the sea. However, the service is very slow and the food is flavourless. I was looking forward to mussels but they had no flavour and came out cold. My friend ordered the garlic mozzarella bread but there was hardly any garlic and the mozzarella was bland. They also melted cheese of the bruschetta which I have never seen before? It took at least 30 minutes for starters to come out. Definitely not worth the money. Please avoid as this is one of the worst restaurants in Marsaxlokk.
Tilly B — Google review
On reflection, I would probably pay more at the other places I viewed. I may have ordered the wrong dish (well, I did as too much was fried). But the calamari was not fresh and too chewy. The cod.....I don't know if it was cod. White off off white, I can accept, but this didn't look or taste like it) I think the owner/manager explained that they pan-fried it and it changed the colour but I remained unconvinced.

I had the scallop and prawn ravioli, and honestly, it was one of the best ravioli dishes I’ve ever had. The pasta was beautifully sealed, with a perfectly smooth texture, and the filling was incredibly well-seasoned. The sauce tied everything together wonderfully rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I was genuinely happy and pleasantly surprised. And all of these with a beautiful view. A truly memorable restaurant!

I had the pasta with the fish of the day (which was swordfish that day), olives and cherry tomatoes. It was the best pasta I've eaten in my entire life. It was very well seasoned, the portion was relatively big for the price. The waitress was very nice and teacher us a lot of things about Malta in general. Plus, you have a nice view of the sea and the pretty boats :) I highly recommend going there!

great food, absolutely delicious and fresh seafood, beautiful décor and amazing atmosphere. prices are not the lowest but definitely adequate to the quality. highly recommend, the best food i’ve had in malta 🧡

Everything is excellent! For me the best food in Malta! The mussels taste was formidable! The sauce with wine, plenty pf garlic and a hint of spicy! The octopus not only presented super elegant but also a great combination of flavors with different sauces. Then the grey saebass (agwar) baked extremely flavorful and soft and juicy. The fish risotto with a great flavour. The Illy coffee and desert topped it up!
Bernd B — Google review
We ordered a starter and a main because we were very hungry, but in hindsight only a main would have been enough because the portion sizes were very generous. The starters ordered were the mussles and the burrata. The mains were the ravioli and the swordfish. Both were divine. Service was pretty quick but we came early at around 5pm.

We ate here the best octopus, the best burger, the best calamari and we felt like home. Good ambiance and very good serving. Thank you for your amiability! My plate was once again empty! Haha.

Fantastic food, wonderful service. The octopus appetizer was tender, not at all chewy like some can be. I also had the Swordfish Carpaccio and it was excellent. Special shout out to the fried capers on the carpccio. I 100% reccomend this restaurant. Best to get there early for lunch if you want the view. I will be back.

I went there for lunch. I came at the very tail end, and she still seated me. I appreciate that. I ordered the seafood pasta of the day. It was delicious. The pasta was cooked to perfect al dente. The seafood was super fresh and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. The host was very kind and nice. She sat me at a table which has the perfect view of the port as you can see from the photo. Highly recommended. I will go back for sure.

UNICO Restaurant is a cozy and reasonably priced dining spot with delicious food and a lovely ambiance. The terrace offers a nice view, while the inside has a pleasant atmosphere. However, some customers have noted that the restroom could be cleaner. The staff is friendly and accommodating, willing to make adjustments to dishes for vegetarian preferences. Overall, it's a great place for a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and drinks.
It was very busy when we visited as it was a market day. We sat outside and were lucky to get a table. Great menu, good service and friendly staff. The group all got different food from tuna pizza to salmon and sea bream and a few drinks all reasonably priced . All the food was very good. Really worth a visit

This restaurant is well located in the village. The seafood is delicious and is very fresh. The service can be a little slow and the toilets aren’t the cleanest but the food is really great.

It was a very good experience, food was lovely, the waiter was very welcoming. I highlighted recommend. Great service and food. I had seafood pasta and my wife tuna pasta

Lovely restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff. Food was wonderful. We had the lobster ravioli and mussels with pasta followed by the grilled fish mix and salmon in crust. The mussels with pasta could easily be a main course. No desserts. They looked delicious but we were both full.

If you're seeking a perfect spot to unwind while soaking in stunning views, look no further than Opera CaffeLounge in Marsaxlokk. This charming eatery has become a favorite for honeymooners and locals alike, offering a delightful dining experience that makes the wait worthwhile. While service may occasionally be slow, the warm hospitality from the staff and owners more than compensates for it.
What a lovely place. Good food at a fair price. Right on the water front. What more could you ask.

Location is good, right by the sea. We were lured by the lunch menus and decided to opt for the fish soup and seafood mix. Slow service. The soup was alright but lacked flavour. The mix included only two king prawns. Calamari had a weird taste, probably because of the oil used. The mussels and octopus had a rich taste and were delicious. The menu also included dessert or coffee, which was a nice treat. Overall, not our greatest food experience in Malta but it satisfied our seafood craving.

We initially planned on sitting down at a different restaurant at the harbour but it was closed for another 3hrs, so we ended up sitting down here thinking it was a different place still. Ended up ordering a fish and chips and a swordfish and the food took over 30mins to arrive, despite few other customers, and the staff seemed offended by pour question of how long it was going to take. Food wasn't very tasty, salad was completely bland and poor quality, no salt/pepper brought to our table despite being on other tables. Would not recommend mainly due to staff being unfriendly and unapproachable. The food and a can of coke + orange juice were over €40!!! A complete and utter scam. Avoid!
Eva S — Google review
We took some drinks here for some days, breakfast and snacks and it was alright! BUT when we ordered dinner it was tasteless and dry fish, long wait and the seaplatter ”marsaxlokk deluxe” came with TWO prawns. Go to Mathews instead their food is absolutely delicious or unico, they also have the sweetest servers. Their cake option was not available, we got icecream instead.

Nice place with great view. Food is average but the cocktails are good.

Great services. We ordered the fish platter and was decent quality, also soup but was average and a fresh grooper which was cooked well. We appreciate the services and we wish the best!

Was not what I was expecting, we had the mix fish and seafood platter the fish was frozen and fried calamari was very stodgy!!! And lack of flavour, not all was bad ,the starter was testy and servers where very efficient and polite. But I would not recommend this place.
Abel P — Google review
A total of three people attended us, and none of them seemed willing to work or had good manners the service was awful. On top of that, they were doing false advertising, since they had a happy hour sign, but once we sat at the table, they told us they’d only serve the drinks if we ordered food, which wasn’t written anywhere. When we pointed this out, they basically “invited us to leave” because we didn’t agree with it. So yeah, guess who’s not coming back, thanks for nothing :)

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with St. Peter's Pool, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Il-Kalanka. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

St. Peter's Pool is a popular natural swimming spot nestled in a picturesque, horseshoe-shaped rock formation with stunning clear aqua water. During Malta's warm summer season, visitors can enjoy a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean Sea at this secluded location along the rugged coastline. Thrill-seekers can also indulge in adrenaline-pumping cliff jumps into the cool crystal-clear waters below. This hidden gem is often celebrated as one of the top swimming destinations on the island, surrounded by natural beauty.
Such a beautiful spot! Perfect for swimming, jumping into the clear water, or just watching others do their jumps. The water is amazing, and the whole place has a fun, relaxed vibe. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Malta.
V F — Google review
I think the only real way to enjoy this spot is to commit to the trek to get there. It makes jumping into that chilly Malta sea all the more rewarding. Definitely a busy spot so if that is not your vibe I wouldn’t recommend, but a great experience and I am glad I went.
Pia B — Google review
A stunning natural swimming spot with crystal-clear turquoise water and dramatic limestone cliffs. Perfect for swimming, snorkelling, or relaxing in the sun. The area is a bit rocky, so good shoes are recommended, but the views and atmosphere are absolutely worth it.
Jacques S — Google review
My husband and I visited St Peter’s Pool in September. We had a hire car so we were able to drive out there, which made it much more bearable on a boiling hot day. Parking is free and the views from the car park are magnificent. There is a van selling refreshments and ice cream. The footpath leading down to the pool is quite precarious, so please do mind how you go! We were delighted to arrive at the same time as Tina, the famous diving dog, and her lovely owner Carlito! Watching the two of them in the flesh diving, swimming, and fishing together was such a joy! My husband and I aren’t great cliff divers, but we loved watching those around us enjoy the opportunity to practice their techniques! The snorkelling in St Peter’s Pool is absolutely mesmerising. Such a wide array of marine life inhabit the area and it really is a sight to behold. If you don’t jump into the water, you’ll either have to climb down a very steep, narrow ladder, or inch your way across the rocks whilst being smashed up against them by the tide, so please do be mindful of this if you’re not in the best shape!
Georgina T — Google review
This is a really beautiful natural cove. I would highly recommend arriving early in the morning. By midday, it’s really jam packed. If you walk around to the side, you will find much less people and a more relaxing visit. It’s a popular spot to cliff jump but there are also lots of places to walk directly in. I recommend taking water shoes. Some of the rocks can be slippy with seaweed. There’s one last food truck selling drinks etc at the top before you walk down but once you walk down, there’s nothing so be prepared.
Becky W — Google review
Don't be afraid to walk the longer path from the bus stop, the way itself is adventure (see my photos). The vibe of the people there was just great, everyone having fun, respectful and mindful of others. Older, younger, big groups, singles, families. However, if you or your group do not intend to jump/swim, it may be not your choice as sunbathing is not very comfortable, because there is no sand.
Jan W — Google review
Amazingly beautiful and breathtaking view of mediterranean. Once you dive, you could see some small fishes moving pretty near from the humans, but be mind that the inside of ocean is deeper than our expectation and rocks are tough and raw.
Sylvia — Google review
you know what…I was hesitant to come here after reading many a review that it is always crowded and super busy but I am glad I chose to ignore those reviews because this is a seriously beautiful swimming spot. fun for all ages to jump from the rocks, but if you are a scaredy cat there is also a ladder. now, a regular person might not see a lot of seating in such crowds, but for those of you brave enough to bolder over the rocks, you will find shaded and private seats. we caught the bus here and had to commit to a 30 min walk from the bus stop but that was all worth it

Maltese restaurant
Ta' Victor is a restaurant located in the main Marsaxlokk square, offering traditional Maltese cuisine with a menu featuring local specialties such as rabbit, lamb, snails, octopus, lasagne, and fresh fish. Situated across from the fishing harbor and the Parish church, diners can enjoy their meal while soaking in the local atmosphere. The open-air tables provide a charming setting for indulging in sumptuous portions of authentic Maltese dishes.
Excellent experience with Ta Victor restaurant! They serve a set menu with starter, soup, main course and desert at a set price. You can choose fish or meat or vegan main course and again one from 4 types of fish. It is all authentic maltese food and tastes great!!! I had the red snapper caught in the morning. My wife had seabass. Fantastic! Even better they cared for my personal need to eat gluten free very well! Even the chips were done in a seperate oil from other wheat based food!!! The waiter Dimitri was a great entertainment and we discussed a lot of super interesting info about Maltese life! Victor himself is the owner and cook and also joined! A great experience and strongly recommended! Greetings from Bernd

If you want a homestyle Maltese food experience that will stuff you to the brim, this is the place. Victor cooks as if each visitor is his personal guest. It is a set menu with 4-5 courses, and every course tasted fresh and delicious. You must make a booking before you dine here, but it’s definitely worth a stop.
Leela N — Google review
We had such a great experience at Ta’ Victor! We both went for the 5-course platter. For the main course, we tried two different kinds of fish. The soup and fish options change daily depending on what’s fresh, so the menu stays interesting and seasonal. The service was super friendly and attentive. They explained every dish – what it was, what ingredients were used, and how it was prepared – which really added to the whole experience. Everything was absolutely delicious, a solid 10/10. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something special but still relaxed and welcoming! We paid 91,4€ for the 2 menu, 1 bottle of local wine and a bottle of sparkling water.
Emese N — Google review
The best food experience during my two month stay in Malta. Victor offers 5 course menu only for 37€/pp and wide selection of local wines for very reasonable prices. Every day there are fresh meat and seafood options available based on what is fresh and available in the market. Make sure you arrive hungry because it is really too much food even. We really enjoyed every bite of this dinner. Highlights of course being the fish and the dessert! So simple, pure and delicious!

I've been sitting here for over an hour thinking of how to put this into words, but I fail every time. The food is devine, I felt nastalgia for the cooking of a Maltisian grandmaw I never ! The standout dish was the desert, probably the best thing I ever ate, I never knew food could taist that good.

Ta' Victor is a local treasure that truly deserves to be discovered by both foreigners and locals when it comes to its incredible dining experience. Emphasis on experience, because this restaurant took us back to our nostalgic roots, something that almost no other restaurant can accomplish as well as here, especially since it compliments with the location of the restaurant. Ta' Victor is a timeless masterpiece of local cuisine that deserves its prestige and welcomes anyone looking for a true taste of Malta with open arms.

Highlight of our vacation on Malta! This place is absolute jem and words can t really depict the service there. Position on little square litt 3 min from the waterfront and amazing , friendly and attentive service. Viktor and his mysterious right hand made us feel extremly welcomed .Food is traditional Maltese with all the flavours of the island and tradition in combination with local white Mdina wine .And it was amazing!Big portions and traditional desert were so deliscious ,it felt like home. It was not a meal,it was authentic experience. Thank you Viktor and especially our waiter. Greeting from ex YU.

With friendly staff and reasonably priced dishes, Harbour Lights is a recommended spot for anyone looking for a good restaurant to visit.
We went there with two people on a Wednesday and were lucky to find a few beautiful spots by the water still available. We had a fantastic dinner and were served by Juan, who gave us detailed explanations about the dishes and ingredients. We were even told the recipe of their cocktail of the day, the “Gold Rush”, as well as the components of a delicious dessert featuring deconstructed cannoli with sweet ricotta, pistachio, and chocolate.

We had an amazing meal (ordered two fresh fish specials of the day and octopus), served by very friendly staff! We were lucky enough that the town was having a celebration making it a perfect evening. 100% recommended

I know a thing or two about cocktails and I tell you what: this is a well stocked bar. Really, I was so impressed to see not only the essentials, but even obscure and not very known liquor and spirits that are used in one or maybe two cocktails. Barman really know what they are doing, I watched them prepare drinks with care and concentration. Result is delicious, refreshing and much needed drink. Food was great too, we took some dishes to share as a snack and I do not regret it one bit. Friendly staff, always on the lookout for extra round of drinks. Best cocktails in whole country.

The restaurant sits right by the waterfront, even though the view is not the prettiest, it is still and added plus. The staff are friendly, responsive and talkative. The food and drinks were very good and fresh, but the food is also on the upper side when it comes to prices. The portions could be a little bigger.

Such a lovely spot with a cozy atmosphere and an outstanding seaside view. We came just for drinks — no food this time — and honestly, these were the best cocktails we’ve had in Malta. 🍸 We also discovered Blue Label beer here — quite a nice local brand worth trying. The place might not always be open, so better check the opening hours before heading there. But if you’re around, it’s absolutely worth a visit — especially for the cocktails and the view.

Harbour Lights is hands down the best place to eat on the water in the village. Properly fresh seafood, as in, caught that morning and brought in from the bay, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It’s relaxed but still feels special, with unbeatable views right on the water. Come earlier in the day if you want the full range of fish. Perfect spot for a long lunch or sunset dinner. Feels like a local secret (but probably not for long).

Il-Kalanka is a secluded bay beach, less popular than St. Peters Pool, offering a peaceful setting for swimming, snorkeling, and picnicking on the rocks. It is wilder than St. Peters Pool and not recommended for official water jumping. The road leading to the bay has been improved despite previous poor conditions. Visitors can enjoy warm waters without jellyfish and may even spot a famous local dog known for jumping into the water with its owner.
Amazing place, a real gem. Loved by the locals and a must-see for those adventurous souls out there. Beautiful waters, picturesque cove, and cliffs surrounding the bay, which makes it a little piece of heaven here on earth.

Definitely recommend coming here over St Peter’s Pool - it’s much quieter, less crowded and only 5 minutes away. The water is a beautiful blue, with areas you can jump in and steps to get back out the sea. There are no toilets and nowhere nearby to buy water or snacks, so come prepared and stocked up.

Excellent alternative to St Peter's Pool. Easy access by steps from the car park, which is only a few minutes further than the access to St Peter's Pool. At Kalanka you will have a very similar experience, with fantastic views, clear waters and access to the sea by ladders on either side. Don't miss it, it's also less crowded than St Peter's Pool. A great place for cliff diving and jumping. No facilities or toilets. Water was clear. Some places in the shade, but a lot of sand / dust. Easy acces. Hope it doesn't get ruined like St Peter's Pool. If you take food / beverages, please don't leave your empty packaging on the beach. Take your cigarette buds with you.
Gianni C — Google review
I must agree with other commenters that this is an excellent alternative to St Peter's Pool. The color scheme and geological formations are very similar and just as beautiful. It is easy to access and has better options of entering and exiting water. Very nice for swimming and just enjoying nature. However, this place also has a littering problem. Not as extreme as St Peter's Pool, but still enough to be an uncomfortable health concern. Hopefully the local government will make more of an effort to keep the place clean so it would be as safe as it is beautiful.
Anna Z — Google review
This place is very special. It's astonishingly beautiful, but it's not for everyone. I would say it's for good swimmers only. To get in the water, you can jump or use a ladder, and it's deep. It can be dangerous to swim when the wind is blowing from the South. There are no bars or shops, so you should bring your own food if you plan to stay here all day. Please, don't litter. The bus stop is very far. The easiest way to get is by car. There are no toilets or showers. You should keep that in mind. I loved this place. It was the highlight of our holiday in Malta.

With a great selection of wines from Sicily, Italy, Europe, and the New World, it's an ideal spot to savor authentic Sicilian cuisine paired with fine wines.
Everything on the menu is good, I am positive of that. They start you off with complementary bread and some side dishes to have with your main. We opted for the fish and the pasta. 10/10. We were seated outside and were able to enjoy the fresh air by the water and the sun. Our server was incredibly nice and friendly - when one of our dishes came back with a bug on top, he immediately resolved the issue and handled it perfectly. To apologize for the inconvenience, he offered us digestives on the house even though he did not have to. Thank you for such a wonderful service! Will definitely be coming back the next time I am in Malta.

I recently visited a restaurant with three friends, with high expectations due to the restaurant's reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, particularly regarding the main dish: the beef steak. First, I would like to highlight that we ordered a variety of starters, which were all fine and had no major issues. However, the problems started with the main courses. One of the orders was pasta, which, although flavorful, was not cooked enough – almost raw. Despite this, it was still edible. My beef steak, on the other hand, was a disaster. It had an extremely unpleasant odor, so strong that no one else at the table wanted to try it. While it may not have been the best idea to order meat in a restaurant specializing in seafood, I believe a restaurant of this level should maintain a certain standard of quality in all the dishes it serves. The situation with the steak was unacceptable, not only was it inedible, but I also experienced stomach issues for two days afterward. As for the service, it was impeccable. All the waitresses who served us were friendly, professional, and competent. However, the excellent service cannot make up for the serious problem with the quality of the food.

Lucky to get probably the last table on a Sunday, it is strongly advised that you book. The basket of freshly baked bread brought out to start was superb. The roll with sausage in was a particular highlight. The food was good. The caponata served with the sea bass was delicious. Unfortunately, it was initially forgotten on our plates. Although it was the perfect accompaniment for fish, the exact same sides are served with steak and don't go quite so well.

The food was between ok and good, but not fantastic. What made it not so nice, were the annoyed behaving waitresses. We were really friendly from start to finish, but they werent. E.g. interrupting us while ordering (because they knew already what we were trying to say, but in a very annoyed tone of voice) and taking the menu out of our hands-twice! All together it was an okayish, but defintely not a good experience.

I explored several coastal restaurants and found them either expensive or fully booked until I stumbled upon Pastaus Lab. This restaurant offers reasonably priced dishes with satisfying portion sizes. The food is delicious, and the service is excellent. They have a remarkable selection of homemade pasta, which adds to the overall experience. Additionally, they prepare fresh pasta with various flavorsome sauces cooked to perfection upon order. The restaurant allows customers to observe the chef cooking behind a glass screen. The price is fair for the quality they provide.
We ate here two times. We ordered pasta and it was delicious!!! I am a huge pasta fan and this was one of the best pastas I ever had!! The pasta is home made and beside the “normal” ones, there are 3-4 uniqe pastas like chili flavoured. The waiter with glasses are so nice and kind. I recommend this place to everyone. Oh and they have some other kind of food, not just pasta.

There’s no denying that the food is delicious, but the service was incredibly slow. If you know weekends are busy, better preparation is a must. Pastas are freshly made and we could choose pasta and source separately. Selection of pasta flavours include classic, spinach, chilly and squid ink and the chilly one was indeed quite spicy… they have a good selection of sea food sources too. It offers a variety of seafood dishes that showcase the best of Mediterranean cuisine.
I had a beautiful dish of Sea Bass stuffed with seafood, (mussels, clams/cockles and shrimps.) with a lovely sauce. One of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten. Lovely spacious traditional restaurant, very reasonable prices.

Huge portion on pasta dish. I ordered pasta marinara, starter size, was so surprised when I got it, tasted okay, nothing special, a bit greasy at the bottom of the dish. Salmon was over cooked…

A fine dining experience by the sea side ! Food was extremely well prepared, nicely cooked and flavorful. Quality of service was amazing and place is so warm , neat and nicely decorated 🤩

Firstly, the place is good and the service was careful. The fish was really fresh, they previously showed us the types of fish just caught for a better choice. The waiter was very smart and funny! Beautiful location, we stayed outside, and fast service.

Good food and friendly atmosphere, clean place, superb cook and a very nice family run business! Keep up the good work! Highly recommended!

This place is at the far end of the bay and when we went there for lunch there was some construction work in the car park so we weren’t even sure that it was open but glad that we went in. We had the fresh fish and the pasta and all of it was amazing. The portion sizes were big so for lunch a starter size of the pasta might be sufficient but certainly value for money. It’s appears to be a family run restaurant where everything is cooked fresh so don’t expect fast food speed - it is a restaurant after all. Definitely worth the extra 2 minute walk to get there

Everything was very fresh and delicious, you can see our empty plates. Especially the seafood with rice, well cooked and full of juice, even my strick father, also very satisfied with it. We had dinner before we leave Malta. The staff gave us warm greeting and helpful recommendation.

Can't fault . Starter of octopus best on island as was the fish soup , how it ought to be .full of flavour and rice fish etc Main of traditional rabbit stew was superb whole rabbit with thick vegetable sauce very herby . Pasta with smoked bacon and mushroom sauce was the best Huge portions .No pressure to hurry very traditional restaurant Try the local wine also very good ! Service was attentive but not pushy Excellent Make the walk to the far end of town towards the power station Sundays very busy as market day full of coaches and tourist Friday lunchtime was quiet so food even better

Marsaxlokk Water Polo Club - Bar, Restaurant & Lido is a highly recommended place to dine with family or friends. The food is delicious and the portions are generous, although there might be a bit of a wait for your order. The staff is attentive and friendly, creating an enjoyable dining experience. It's advisable to make a booking in advance to avoid disappointment due to its popularity.
This is a gem of a place. The only slight downside is that it faces the power station. We went at night so it doesn't matter. My husband said it didn't bother him, but it is such a shame given that the surroundings are so pretty. Food was truly superb. It is a very Maltese style, which is rare these days. We felt very welcome. It is somewhere you should go to get really immersed in the Maltese culture of waterpolo and great good. It is off the beaten track, and there is a sandy beach right next door, so it is ideal for a day to night alternative.

We waited more than 40min for food. And then each plate came out individually. The items were not as described with main ingredients missing or changed. The owner is so rude and arrogant to customers who politely complain. The place was full of unhappy customers. He is also blocking Google reviews somehow.

Great place to dine with your family or friends....we waited a bit for the food after ordering...but the tastes compensate for the waiting... portions are generous and staff is very friendly. Highly recommended but a booking is advised to avoid disappointment

This is my second visit as the first one was very disappointing. Having spoken to the manager during my first visit, I thought of giving it a second chance! What a disappointment! Things missing from plate, not as written on the menu. My wife ordered a main course risotto, and she was only given max 70g of rice. Spoke again to the Manager about it, and he told us that this is a 250g portion. What an insult! Then again, my son ordered an Angus Burger. Missing were the onion rings and salad. Again, spoke to the manager and to insult us, he brought him 2 onion rings. It is up to you to visit this place, but I thought of writing this review as I hate being taken for a ride and even though, in bona fide, I tried to give feedback to the Manager, given that it is their first season operating the pitch restaurant, as I really have Mxlokk Water-polo Club at heart and I only want the best for all the dedicated people involved in the running of the club, but unfortunately, he was not really interested, and for him, mine is not feedbac, but just another grumbling customer.

The National Museum of Archaeology is located in the historic Auberge de Provence, a 16th-century building. It showcases a diverse collection of prehistoric artifacts, weapons, and sculptures found on the Maltese islands. The museum provides an extensive overview of Malta's prehistory, spanning from the Neolithic period to the Phoenician period. Visitors can marvel at early tools, pottery, and various depictions of animals and human figures dating back thousands of years.
I was sad the Neolithic section was closed for construction, (I wanted to see the Venus!) but the areas available were well presented and interesting. The displays of coinage and medals throughout the centuries was very interesting to this numismatist! And I'm pretty sure that's an alien's skull in the display... you'll have to see for yourself!
Traci N — Google review
This was a really lovely edition to the temples tour and the hypogium. You can see the old large skulls and all sorts of other very well preserved artefacts from the Neolithic period. There’s 3 floors to enjoy and it’s only 5EUR entry. Great way to kill an hour or two and lots to learn / see. There’s some other periods but I personally recommend the Neolithic one. It really fits well with the ancient history of the country. There’s toilets on site
Bilbo B — Google review
Some museums win you over with their collections, others with their architecture. This one does both, which frankly feels a bit greedy. Housed in a building so beautiful you could happily wander it empty, the museum is a reminder that the Maltese don’t do “ordinary” when it comes to stonework. The exhibitions are superbly curated — thoughtful, detailed, and arranged with a clear sense of storytelling. You move from prehistoric figurines to intricate artifacts with the feeling that someone has actually thought about the journey you’re on, rather than just shoving things in glass cases and hoping for the best. And yet, in the middle of all this, there’s the numismatic collection. Perfectly fine if you’re a coin enthusiast, but otherwise it’s a bit like finding a box of receipts in the middle of a grand opera. Interesting in its way, but it does feel like it wandered in from another museum and decided to stay. Still, that’s a minor quibble. Between the building itself, the sheer depth of the collection, and the skill with which it’s presented, this is one of those rare museums where you leave feeling smarter — and only partly because you spent two hours reading captions in your “educational” voice. Five stars, and I’d come back just to walk through that building again, coins and all.
Arik — Google review
Bottom section currently closed not sure for how long but upper level was open. There was still a lot of cool and interesting stuff to check out from various periods. The history is incredible. I would say a must see.

Next to the excavation site. Staffs are very helpful. Must see the faded painting of boat on the rock, well preserved at the museum. With some effort, you will be able to witness 4500 years old rock painting. unbelievable experience. Must go with family, kids would love this.

Fascinating exhibition. I was particularly impressed by the collection of ancient figurines. Definitely worth the visit if you're a fan of archaeology or want to learn something new about the past.
John B — Google review
I love this museum, the staff is very well informed, exhibitions are interesting and everything is explained very clearly! Kudos for funny comics strops and the newly renovated grand room.

Awesome place. I was here on October's Sunday and it was calm, few people inside. English audio guide is British as hell (there're other options like Polish). Ask for it at the reception, there's an QR code for you to open on your phone's browser. Museum also has its own public wifi so don't worry about roaming data. Definitely take your own earphones/headphones for that. If you're curious about this island, then you must visit.

Spazju Kreattiv is a vibrant hub for the arts and cultural activities in Malta, primarily located at St. James Cavalier in Valletta. It offers a diverse range of artistic expressions, including visual and performance arts, along with hosting an artist-in-residence program to nurture the local creative community. The venue itself is housed within the historic St. James Cavalier, a 16th-century fort that adds to its allure.
Spectacular space (even the toilets are good) and well worth an afternoon's dalliance. It seems like their choice of exhibits is also interesting and though provoking.
Hugh R — Google review
There are many art museums, each with its own unique offerings. This particular museum is predominantly focused on modern art, which, while visually intriguing, often feels devoid of deeper meaning and substance. Some exhibits may not be appropriate for children under 12, and instead of enriching perspectives on life, culture, and spirituality, they seem to lean towards triviality and provocation. Ultimately, while some may find value in these exhibits, they do not resonate with me.
CD — Google review
Had the absolute pleasure of performing in a sold-out play at Spazju Kreattiv, and the experience was incredible. The venue has this intimate yet powerful energy that really elevates any performance. Shoutout to the amazing team behind the scenes and all the love from the audience.

Entrance to the exhibit is free, allowing you to enjoy the Program of Creative Arts and Culture more than once if you have the time. Exciting and sometimes moving exhibits throughout the building with amazingly beautiful works of art. Great way to spend an hour or more out of the sun while in Valletta.

Possibly the strangest place I have ever visited. The building itself is awesome and the fact that the entrance is free is incredible. But the art inside is not something I am ever going to understand. However if you are the type of person who loves these types of exhibitions and looking for meaning, then this is most definitely the place for you. But even if you are not I would still recommend visiting, who knows, you might find it interesting, and after all it's free.

I had a wonderful lunch at Ir-Rizzu in Marsaxlokk. The service was excellent very friendly and attentive. Special thanks to our waiter Bipin, who was extremely kind and helpful, making the whole experience even better. I tried the traditional fish soup to start, which was rich and full of flavor, and then the fresh catch of the day perfectly cooked and served with salad and chips. Everything tasted authentic and fresh. If you want genuine Maltese seafood at a fair price, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Restaurant
Dimitri Valletta is a charming boutique restaurant that resides in a historic 450-year-old building, just a short stroll from the iconic Auberge de Castille. This delightful eatery offers diners an exquisite culinary adventure, showcasing flavors from Malta, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The menu is thoughtfully updated with each season to highlight fresh ingredients and surprise guests with innovative dishes.
On arrival we were greeted by the chef Dimitri. It was a personal dining experience which was nice. We attended for a weekday lunch so there was only one other patron; so it was quiet and relaxing. We ordered Octopus Squid Ink pasta, local fried rabbit, and profiteroles filled with blast frozen ricotta. All delicious. The wine was light on the palate and matched well with the chosen foods.
Vanessa P — Google review
This tiny eatery at the top of St Paul’s Street in Valletta could be so much more. Unfortunately it looks like it’s small size gas not managed to overcome the costs of doing business and it has fallen on hard times. The very limited wine list and excessive pricing (6 times the retail price for a Doppio Passo Primitivo) seems to point in that direction. Nevertheless the chef patron was engaging and spent some time with us, considering the only other server seemed to lack the finesse needed for the prices we were charged. A case in point to mention is that the cost of what we had was comparable to higher class restaurants serving better food, greater choice, with better service and a more memorable experience. All this was short or completely lacking on the night we were there.
David F — Google review
The food was plain and tasteless, especially the chicken and the veal. There were no spices or herbs used on the chicken, the veggies or the potato mash... The 25eur veal tasted like a plain schnitzel. We finished our meals only because we were hungry & tired. Our waiter kept repeating that he is very satisfied that we liked the food. This was a statement we never made ourselves and we finally had to reply that it's not exactly the case. Then the waiter returned with the chef and they made the point that we should have returned the dishes when we didn't like them instead of finishing them - not a great solution when you are hungry and tired. Also, I was not looking forward to choose another dish or to give a recipe to the chef on how to improve the taste. The service overall was poor for the quality of the restaurant they want to maintain. There were multiple issues, the most interesting one was that the waiter left the bottle of wine on the table and expected us to open it. Of course we then asked him to do that himself, which he did. They gave us a chocolate tart on the house to compensate for the experience with the main dishes. We appreciated the gesture, hence this is a 2* review instead of 1*. But anyone considering a visit should be warned.
Anna-Maria A — Google review
After todays walking we wanted dinner to be close. And ideally away from the madding crowd. This restaurant did not disappint. Put aside the fact that we were the only two patrons, it was an event to savour. Never before have we had this experience. Seated on a street away, but close to the restaurant. Served by an elder gentleman called Patrick who was happy to chat and answer our questions - about anything really. Later Dimitri the chef came and had a chat too and as we paid our bill, we were able to chat to his kids - and tell them to go to bed!! Dad’ll be home soon.
Diane L — Google review
We visited Dimitri on Friday 9/8 for a late lunch (around 1:30 pm) and had THE BEST experience with Chef Dimitri. I ordered the trio mushroom pasta and Chef Dimitri recommended the chicken and chorizo pasta for my son. Since my son does not eat pork, Chef said he would make it without the chorizo. Let me tell you...BEST pasta we've ever had !! The pasta is made fresh and you can tell. All the ingredients used tasted fresh and went so well with the red wine suggested by the chef. I'm so glad good this delicious redirecting and HIGHLY recommend visiting Chef Dimitri!

Pretty Bay is a picturesque destination featuring a beautiful swimming beach, boating opportunities, and sports fields. The beach offers clean sand and calm blue waters, making it ideal for swimming. While the water may not be entirely clear due to the high number of visitors during peak season, it remains clean and refreshing. MALTA you are so so beautiful to me. MALTA give me so much joy and satisfaction in my trip. The beauty of the island is priceless. People are so friendly and kind. Also, I found to be very cheap too. If you planning to visit Malta is no need for big spending. Just enjoy as much as you could.

Beautiful clear water. On the weekend, it's pretty difficult to get sunbed, it very busy family's having bbq. You see the ships, at the container port with huge cranes taking containers from massive ships at the port. Great view. Nice sandy beach. You need a umbrella or something to cover you from the sun 🌞.
Hug D — Google review
Nice sandy beach. The water isn’t super clear but is refreshing and okay to swim in. The view of the cranes is interesting😂 but it’s kinda cool
Lara H — Google review
Even though it's a nice beach with turquoise water as you can see in the pics, there are huge cargo ships that spoil the view in the front... And from time to time, a little noise from the cranes... Despite that , the sunbeds have thin mattresses, are very comfy (15€ per day, 2 sunbeds and an umbrella) and I really enjoyed my sunbathe there. That day was very hot, 🥵 in and out all the time, also my friend said that the coffee she bought from the store around the corner was awful

Beautiful, clear water. You can watch planes fly by pretty low. On weekdays, it's pretty easy to get a sunbed, with an affordable price. Also, it's pretty quiet. You see the ships, which block the view

Ideal for families, friends, or anyone looking to unwind by the sea.

Borġ In-Nadur is a small Neolithic temple located near the Gar Dalam Cave museum in Malta. While it may appear as just a pile of rocks to some, it holds great historical significance dating back to 2500 years BC. Visitors with an interest in archaeology and ancient history will find this site intriguing, especially when combined with a visit to the adjacent Ghar Dalam site.
Borġ in Nadur (Birżebbuġa, Malta) Period: Bronze Age (2500–700 BCE) – Later than Malta’s megalithic temples, but equally fascinating! Significance: Malta’s only surviving Bronze Age temple fortress , with unique defensive walls. What’s Inside Borġ in Nadur? 1. The Ruined Temple (Originally Tarxien Phase, ~3000 BCE) Four Apse Structure – Similar to Ħaġar Qim but heavily eroded. Libation Holes & Altars – Evidence of ritual use. 2. Massive Defensive Wall (Added in Bronze Age, ~1500 BCE) , 4 meter thick wall built from megalithic blocks – likely to protect against invaders. Curved design (unique in Malta) suggesting a fortified settlement. 3. Ancient Cart Ruts Mysterious parallel grooves cut into rock, possibly for transporting goods. 4. Artifact Discoveries Borġ in Nadur Pottery – Distinctive Bronze Age ceramics (now in Valletta’s National Museum). Copper tools & animal bones – Hints of early metalworking and farming Why Visit? ✅ Rare mix of temple & fortress architecture. ✅ Overlooks Marsaxlokk Bay – Stunning sea views! ✅ Less crowded than Malta’s famous temples. Visiting Info Entry: Free (open site, no tickets). Access: Short walk from Birżebbuġa (park near Pretty Bay). Nearby: Combine with Għar Dalam Cave (prehistoric fossils) or Marsaxlokk fishing village . Fun Fact: The site’s name means "Fire Fort" – possibly linked to ancient signal fires!

Sadly, this is one of the worst presented temples in Malta. However, this shouldn't chip away from its historical significance and a nice story that can be read about here. If you're visiting the Ghar'Dalam cave, this place will be included with the same ticket. I'd say it's worth taking the bus for another 2 stops until here. The little town nearby is really cool!
Sabo R — Google review
Nothing special here. It isn't a big site, but very small as in the area you could transverse around and see. I could see this site would disappoint a lot of people, but this is an historical site. If you have been here, congratulations, you have just experienced the oldest civilisation, older than Egyptian temples. This ticket was included with Ghar-Dalam, costing total €13 for 2 people. I am glad this ticket was included because the location to Ghar was not far, and Borg in-Nadur has nothing much to see. We came around 13:15 early September week, practically no one was there except for us. Would I recommend? Not really, if you have a combo ticket, you might as well visit and use your ticket. Nice selfie photo to take and show people you have visited one of the oldest monument in mankind history.
David O — Google review
It is a very small area. It is interesting and there might be more remains in the nearby fields. The tickets are sold just up the road at Għar Dalam, which is a wonderful place to visit.

Not much to see. I spent less than 10 mimutes there, mostly reading the plaques. Interestingly mainly because it was excavated by 3 female aerchologists. 1 large dolman and a scattering of stones in no perceptible shape or order. Not worth the entry fee to be honest.

Ancient temple and village complex which has little left. Included in the same ticket with Ghar Dalam Cave and you have to get the ticket from there.
Joni H — Google review
A very small temple in the middle of a field. Not much info about it on site. You need to visit the adjacent Ghar Dalam site to get info. Nice for a quick 10 minute visit and a few photos.

Not much too see but the history behind it is impressive. It is usually included with Għar Dalam ticket, which is great to visit, so you're not being overcharged when considering everything.

Lodge
Harbour Lodge, located in central Marsaxlokk, offers a convenient stay with its free shuttle service to and from Luqa Airport. The property provides free WiFi throughout and spacious rooms equipped with a seating area, TV, and minibar. Guests can enjoy the short walk to the seafront promenade and nearby restaurants. The accommodating staff ensures a stress-free experience, while the included airport transfers add to the convenience of staying at this peaceful retreat.
We have just returned from our second stay in this lovely guest house. Because we needed to visit unexpectedly we were given accommodation and made to feel incredibly welcome by all who worked at Harbour Lodge. The free taxi service and breakfasts were an added bonus, as was the wifi and TV. Huge thanks to all concerned. The staff worked incredibly hard and were polite and friendly at all times. My one complaint was that the toilet seat was somewhat wobbly - but that is the only thing we could find wrong and I am sure that will be replaced when they are not quite so busy. Thank you all: you made us feel so very welcome.

Everything about this hotel was just ok. Breakfast was fine, but you'll probably want to go someplace else. The location is good for the area, but we didn't love the area. The bathroom sink is pitiful(so small). The shower was broken and the nuzzle only sprayed up against the wall, basically needed to be a contortionist to get your body under the water. The one redeeming quality was the complimentary ride to the airport.
Julie W — Google review
A very dirty place. Outworn room with a pretty bad shower. Breakfast was very medioker. Staff is alright and location pretty good, close to restaurants and harbour. You can hear a lot from other rooms.
Jonas L — Google review
I don't recommend this place to anyone. The rooms are dirty, untidy, not cleaned. The staff shouts and makes noise early in the morning. Breakfast was the same every day, some food was spoiled. I also saw a cockroach in the bathroom last night. The place is in an ugly, empty, dirty part of town.

Room basic but clean, fantastic balcony with amazing views. Karen was so helpful and lovely...couldn't do enough for us. Location is great, a minute walking to all amenities. Definitely be back. Thank you Karen x

The perfect hotel is one that is imperfect in just the right way, the way that doesn't bother you. That's just what this hotel is. Pros: + Very tasty breakfast was served every day between 07:00 and 09:30 (not to your room, in the dining hall) + Nice view from the balcony + If I wanted to have a warm shower at 06:00 in the morning, then I could do that without any issues what so ever + Good wall insulation between guests, I saw a lot of people at breakfast so I knew the hotel wasn't empty, but I never heard any of the guests at night + Very fair price, it's not overpriced at all. + The staff asked if I needed any cleaning in my room at every breakfast, the cleaning they did was good. About 20 mins to scrub the floor & take out trash & and put things where they belong + No single cockroach or other kind of insect in the room + The location is close to several good restaurants + The location is close to bus stops + 1 hr walk from airport Problems which you can live with: - There's nothing to attach the shower head to, but you can however hang it on a hook and aim the shower head away from the wall and it's okay. - The door handle to the balcony was extremely loose and 1 of the 2 screws came off. - The staff who showed me the room said that if you were outside and closed the balcony doors then you couldn't open the door and get back in. If the problem is known.. then surely it should be fixed. - The lamp on the balcony had been damaged and was hanging in exposed cables, the entire lamp fixture had fell off - The entrance door to the hotel room had about a 1cm gap at the bottom, during the night the room would light up slightly due to this enormous gap because it was lit in the hall way - It gets really chilly in the room during the nights in December, but not freezing cold

Relatively cheap prices compared to nearby restaurants. Got a fish platter for two which was tasty all together, calamari was a bit chewy but the octopus was delicious and you get 8 different kinds of fish and seafood to try. Service could be faster and it's a bit weird they bring you pre-poured drinks instead of bottled ones. Went on a sunday and it wasn't busy.

Known as a fishing village you can sit at one of many restaurants and eat fresh fish dishes. I've visited on a Sunday which had an open market, sort of a fair thing which I thing happens every Sunday. Walking distance (half an hour perhaps though) are some beautiful places to enjoy and jump of cliffs into the sea if you are into that. Lots of young people there.

Sandy beach frequented mainly by locals. Incredibly clear water. No shade. Industrial port and the village marina in the background.

It's not what one would probably choose for a beach and it has no facilities, but it was easily walkable from town, clean, not rocky and an actual beach when beaches are in very short supply!

Scenic spot
The Munxar Window is a breathtaking natural arch that juts out from the cliffs into the shimmering sea, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the stunning coastline near Marsaxlokk and Marsaskala. To reach this picturesque location, you can enjoy a short hike, but be prepared for some steep descents if you want to access the small beach below—sneakers are highly recommended over flip-flops due to slippery paths.
There was no problem getting to the spot, which is highly picturesque. But If you decide to take a walk further, afterwards you’ll need to reach the road and book uber to the nearest town.

You reach it by taking a short walk. If you want to reach a little beach under the cliff, you need to walk down the steep hill, so you better wear sneakers. We went in flip flops tho, but we regretted it a little, as it is quite slippery.

Carrubia Restaurant, located in Marsaxlokk, is a popular dining spot known for its delicious Italian cuisine and seafood dishes. The restaurant offers a unique experience with table bookings and chef experiences available. Situated at 20 Xatt Is-Sajjieda, Carrubia provides a picturesque setting by the seaside. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean flavors and fresh seafood while taking in the charming atmosphere of this colorful fishing village.
Fantastic dining at Carrubia in Marsaxlokk! The seafood pizza was divine, packed with fresh flavors, and paired perfectly with a lovely wine. The view from the window was stunning! Highly recommend!
Eros C — Google review
The restaurant looks like the worst among the neighboring ones from the outside. It definitely needs renovation. Inside, it feels pleasant, though the toilets are certainly in need of refurbishment. The cleanliness of the glasses and cutlery is satisfactory. Service: The organization is lacking, and the biggest downside is the blonde lady (probably the manager), who walks around the tables ordering the staff around but doesn’t contribute much herself. She's also not effective at attracting customers, as she comes across as unlikable. If she wore a proper uniform like in other restaurants, she might appear more approachable. The man at the entrance to the indoor area (probably the boss) is also inappropriate. Ambience: The outdoor terrace needs renovation – all the tables are damaged. Food: Tasty, large portions, reasonably priced. We were served bruschetta as an appetizer, then had pasta. The food isn’t bad, but it’s nothing exceptional either. This restaurant desirve rating as it is.

Been a couple of times to Carrubia and never disappointed. Had spaghetti marinara and ravioli with porcini sauce for starters, and for seconds we had mixed fish and stuffed calamari stew. Served with salad, chips, roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables. Portions were generous and the taste perfect. The prices were not over the top, all this for 48€. Polite and helpful waiters. Sorry about the pics, but we had already started eating when I took them. All in all, a no-frills, genuine cuisine.

Have been on Malta for 10 days the best food we ate during our stay. The pizza with the seafood was delicious, every dish we ordered was amazing and the portions were huge, the wiew on the sea was beautiful.

Excellent meal, friendly staff, good service. We had the set menu for €22. Fish soup & penne marinara for our starters, sea bream with a potato dish, salad and chips for main, banoffi gateau and snickers gateau for dessert, coffee & green tea and a glass of white wine each. All delicious 😋
Amanda B — Google review
Spaghetti bolognese has a weird taste with a lot of parsley with a side of some juice, the breaded cod tastes like it had been microwaved, the salad has begun rotting. The oil had a strange neon-like color not to mention the little prawns that were raw.
Stella S — Google review
Yesterday we went to Carrubia, we were greeted warmly, we received suddenness from the house and in the meantime the food came. I ordered 2 pizzas and my beloved seafood paste. The portilli are very generous, and the pizza countertop is very fluffy (made by the owner's wife), basically a family business. The owner is very nice. Thank you 👍🏻
Darius L — Google review
The food was very mediocre. One of our pizzas was burnt and inedible, the other had a piece of trash in it and the other one had old and very sour pineapple. We didn’t have to pay for the burnt pizza and we got a discount on the others. All in all I don’t recommend.

Nestled in the charming fishing village of Marsaxlokk, iPlace stands out as a beacon of modern dining in Malta. This innovative restaurant seamlessly blends technology with culinary delights, allowing guests to browse an extensive menu and place orders directly from iPads at their tables. Each dining spot is equipped with its own cable TV, ensuring that patrons can enjoy their favorite channels while savoring a diverse array of dishes.
We visited this restaurant for breakfast as a group of 8, and every single dish was delicious – each of us ordered something different, and everyone was satisfied. Our waiter, Daro, spoke clear and friendly English, and to our surprise, he turned out to be Polish, which made the experience even more comfortable for us as he served us in our native language. After breakfast, we decided to stay and work remotely from the restaurant. The indoor booths were very comfortable, the air conditioning helped us stay focused, and the elegant interior made us feel like we were in a high-end restaurant in Warsaw. Highly recommended – we’ll definitely be coming back! Special thanks to our waiter Daro and the whole team for making us feel welcome.

We visited iPlace for breakfast on a very hot morning. The restaurant interior is beautiful, the food was delicious, and Daro, our waiter, was excellent. Daro was attentive and polite, making us feel very welcomed. I would highly recommend trying a breakfast here. A very fair price for breakfast, two iced cappuccino and two fresh orange juices.

A very pleasant restaurant – we came here several times for different meals with my partner and were never disappointed. We tried brunch, lunch, and dinner – all were excellent. The beer and cocktails were also impressive. I have to highlight the service: Daro and Zun was especially helpful and friendly on multiple occasions.

Very nice restaurant, great ambient. The food was delicious. The pizza with mortadella and pistachio was excellent, though it had a bit too much rucola. The risotto al mare was amazing. The portion was so large that I had to take some home. Everything was fresh and tasty. Smoking is not allowed, even on the terrace, which is an open space.

A very nice restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Needless to say, the quality of the food is immaculate, and the staff are so friendly and sweet. In particular, one staff member named Zun was extremely helpful and kind. Last Sunday was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I didn’t know which dishes were popular or must-try items on the menu. So, I asked Zun for recommendations. She explained the dishes on the menu very clearly, and I decided to order the ones she suggested and they turned out to be incredibly delicious!

iPlace makes a striking first impression—the place looks genuinely exclusive, with a beautiful, modern design and elegant decor. The ambiance really stands out and immediately gives the feeling you’re about to enjoy something special. The restaurant’s style is upmarket and visually impressive, and you can tell a lot of attention has been given to how it looks. However, the service didn’t match the sophisticated setting. On arrival, some tables were still dirty, and used plates and cutlery hadn’t been cleared away. Service was slow, with a really long wait just for drinks—and then the food arrived almost immediately after, making for an awkward dining flow. The staff seemed uninterested and not particularly professional, which didn’t help the experience. Another letdown was getting a dirty knife. On the food side, I had a pepperoni pizza which was just okay—heavy on the cheese but nothing remarkable. My girlfriend had a burger, also fine but not memorable. Overall, the food was decent but not exceptional. iPlace impresses visually and looks like a top-tier restaurant, its service and food fail to live up to the promise of its luxurious design. It’s a beautiful spot, but the experience fell short of expectations.

Good food and fresh fish! Is better to book a table, especially in the weekend. The waiters were really professional. We took some calamari fritti as starter, and capo mulini platter as main course, and everything was delicious! Our friends took some other main courses, and everything was perfect! We also appreciate that the kitchen is an open space and you can always see what the chef is cooking. Absolutely a must go place, if you want to eat fresh fish!

Definitely one of the better places to eat lunch or dinner in Marsaxlokk! Don’t forget in the weekend to make a reservation, otherwise you will be sent away. Or you need to eat outside whichbis a bit too hot in the summer months. Restaurant is spacious and airy and the food is outstanding. Really loves the fish cakes made out of white bait! This was, genuinely, the best burger I've ever had in Malta. The meat was juicy, the bread was fresh, and the sauce and cheese had an amazing smokey herby flavour that really complemented the meat, but the star of the show was the crispy bacon. Most places in Malta top their burgers with the traditional Maltese bacon that unfortunately ends up rubbery and bland, but here they used several thin slices of streaky bacon and cooked it until it was crunchy and crumbly - which tastes incredible when contrasted with the soft and juicy things in the burger. Fries and coleslaw were decent (could have used more seasoning for stronger flavour). The other main was the beef skewers. They were good, but we felt that they would be even better if the temperature of the grill was reduced slightly to get a more even cook between the outside and inside of the meat. The meat served to us was medium in the middle and charred on the outside, which we appreciate many people will consider a perfectly cooked skewer, but our personal preference would be for less outside charring and a more cooked center. For our appetizers we got the onion rings (really good as well) and the piadella (see picture - smoked cheese and two kinds of sausage, which were good). Parking was easy, service was quick, efficient and responsive, and the price was reasonable. Marsaxlokk is quite far out of my way, but I'd definitely make the trip to visit fire & fork again. The meal genuinely deserved five stars.

Ta' Kalanka Sea Cave is a historic site in Malta, featuring the remains of extinct animals such as dwarf elephants, hippopotamuses, and deer. The Joseph Baldacchino Hall within the cave displays these ancient bones and recently discovered cave art dating back 7,400 years. The location offers stunning views with most rooms having balconies overlooking the sea and a resort-style pool terrace above a private beach.

It's beautiful - not a sandy beach (which is to be expected), very crowded and you definitely cannot have a quite romantic visit just because it's full of young people, so music is played and it's also kinda loud. I didn't like it that much, as there are similar less crowded areas on the island.

Ras il-Fenek is a stunning natural wonder in Malta that offers a picturesque trail with breathtaking views. The journey begins at Saint Peter's Pool, a popular spot for locals and tourists to relax on warm days. As you continue along the Bay of Il-Mofra z-Zghira, consider hiring a local fisherman to explore the area by boat, including secluded coves with clear waters perfect for anchoring and enjoying lunch.
Amazing natural sight with a nice hiking area. There is this unique blue water on the horizon, local fauna and flora. The water is so calm, that you can get a surfboard and swimming in the middle of the ocean.

Get a local fisherman to take you out and stop at St. Peter's Pool for 30 minutes so you can say you've been there, done that, but then keep going to the next two coves. There will be no tourists and maybe just a few boats. Totally clear water, calm, and a really cool spot to anchor, have lunch and drink. You're welcome.

Fort Delimara

4.0
(154)
Fortress
Fort Delimara, located on the Maltese coast, was built by the Knights of Malta and gained recognition as a filming location in the movie 'Assassin's Creed.' Although not as grand as Valletta's fortifications, its unique cliffside construction makes it a remarkable sight. Built by the British to defend Marsaxlokk Harbour, this polygonal fort is now somewhat run down but still holds charm.
Always look forward to visit Fort Delimara during the open days. Well-preserved history and an interesting excursion. Thank you, Heritage Malta!

Brief history Fort Delimara was built between 1876 and 1878 to defend Marsaxlokk Harbour. It is a typical example of a British Victorian fort when fortifications were constructed low lying and camouflaged as much as possible. Its original artillery comprised of six 38-ton Rifled Muzzle Loading guns, of which four still survive. New Breech Loading guns were installed in 1892, 1913 and 1939. The parade ground includes the soldiers' barracks and other ancillary structures. It was active during the Second World War but was decommissioned in 1956 when coastal defence was abolished..It is possible to visit the Fort just on open days organised by Heritage Malta.

Old fort preserved as world heritage, used to be a museum. Now, I am not sure if it is closed for visitors because the covid restrictions, or if they just close for keep more preserved, once that tourist activities can cause detritions. Located in a natural park, it is a very nice place for hiking, with a amazing and unique sea view, also a nice view for the port and the power plant.

It's cloces righ now but looks quite cool from outside. Great view of harbour.

Il-Kalanka tal-Gidien is a stunning coastal area in Malta, featuring the iconic Il-Kalanka Lighthouse and the unique Saltpans of Il-Kalanka tal-Gidien. The site also offers the opportunity to explore the Ta Kalanka Sea Cave. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful hike with beautiful views and natural swimming pools, as well as observe the breathtaking sunset transforming the Maltese stone color on the lighthouse.
Super beautiful place on the tip of tge coast. We went with three families, we had a nice and easy hike and kids love it. It's only 5 min by car from Marsaschlokk. I will go there again.

Nice sight on the coast of Malta with a good hiking area. There are some archeology sights around, and a unique fauna and flora, with natural swimming pools.

Great view, large salt pans, very quiet area. Perfect place to launch a drone.

Underrated place. Even more beautiful than most advertised places

Lovely, beautiful and quite place. Definitely prefer this to St Peter's Pool which is too busy.

Lighthouse Il-Kalanka is situated in a picturesque bay, alongside the unique Il-Kalanka tal-Gidien Saltpans and the Ta Kalanka Sea Cave. The lighthouse offers comfortable accommodation with well-equipped rooms and a pleasant living space. Although there are some nuisances like flies and mosquitoes due to its proximity to a farm, the beautiful surroundings, natural swimming pools, and archaeological sites make it an ideal location for hiking and photography.
A place of quiet solitude and oozing maritime history. The building isn’t open to the public but walking on the coastal path and discovering the WWII relics scattered around, is atmospheric and awesome.
STEVE M — Google review
A tour of the interior of the lighthouse during a special opening day organized by the Din I-Art Helwa organization. The lighthouse is located on the Delimara Peninsula, near the Delimara Fort, St. Peter's Pool, and several small coastal paths.

Nice lighthouse located in a perfect place for hiking, take pictures, and explore this amazing island called Malta. There are many archeology sights around, and a incredible fauna and flora, with natural swimming pools carved naturally in the rocks by the sea.

[AS A HOTEL] Everything is good it's just that YOU CANT GO INTI THE LIGHTHOUSE, like if the selling point of the lighthouse is to be a lighthouse then why can't you go inside it? It is still 5 stars as one of the volunteers did let us into the lighthouse, it's beautifully from inside.
Indevalt — Google review
The way to reach is more then terrible. The path is very narrow and full with whole. The Light house was renovated by EU funds, but was closed.

Classical lighthouse. Nice views of the vilage on the way to the lighthouse

Lighthouse itself looks fine but the area around is what you want to explore.

Nice little lighthouse. We stayed for 4 nights, I would not recommend much more (but it depends on your needs). There was no washer and very little place to dry swimsuits and towels. There was a farm with animals close, so there were some mosquitos. The rooms were very nice and clean, kinda reminded me of The Durrells. All the necessary appliances were here. What I really missed is the oportunity to go up to the ligthhouse tower. It could be included in the accomodation. The communication with host was good. There is a nice beach 5 minute walk away (Il-Kalanka), it's much more spacious and more quiet than St. Peter's Pool. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

I really wanted more opportunities to explore different restaurants during my limited stay of 2 nights and 3 days, but The Deck Restaurant stood out as my favorite. Their seafood dishes were absolutely delicious, with highlights like the mussels with leeks starter, seafood pasta, grouper, and tuna steak. Pairing these delectable dishes with a glass of their refreshing white wine enhanced the dining experience.
A solid 12/10! After reviewing all restaurants prior we came here today (11.07.2025) with the wish to have a tasty meal but they completely went above and beyond our highest expectations! The service was great & the food and taste was exceptional. This was truly a great experience, we completely recommend it!

We've eaten in almost every part of Malta, but this restaurant is a masterpiece! Starting with the cleanliness, service, and freshness of the food and ingredients. The beautiful view of the bay is stunning. I'd happily return here and recommend it to everyone! Well done, gentlemen. Best regards from Poland!

I had the fish soup and ravioli stuffed with local seafood - probably the best I've had in my life, and I say it as an italian coming from a coastal town! The maltese wine by the glass was also really good...I found it to have a great value for money for such a high quality and amazing, attentive service too. Just go there and thank me later! ;)

Great seafood lunch for four of us. Has to be one of the very best restaurants in the harbour area. Picture of my seafood pasta!
John B — Google review
We waited 15 minutes at the gate before being seated. When we were finally shown to our table, it was very close to the next one, and the table sheet had multiple stains on it. While the service started off quickly, the calamari took nearly 50 minutes to arrive and was cold. Our main dishes came even later, about 15-20 minutes after the calamari. The ravioli was decent, but the portion was small. We also had to wait an additional 10 minutes to receive our check. The whole experience was really frustrating because of the tables that were put so closed to each other and the people were talking extremely loudly and we had to wait for 1 hour for our food to arrive…

Nestled in the charming coastal village of Marsaxlokk, Tex Mex South is making waves with its innovative approach to cuisine. This newly opened gem promises to elevate dining experiences in southern Malta, thanks to the creative vision of head chef Adam. With a vibrant menu that blends traditional flavors with modern twists and a state-of-the-art kitchen, Tex Mex South is definitely a spot worth visiting for food enthusiasts looking for something fresh and exciting.
We went to this restaurant for Sunday Lunch and we really enjoyed it. It is worth mentioning that they are following social distancing rules as rrquested by the Maltese government. The food was mouth watering (we ordered two BBQ ribs) and the cocktails are so good! If you visit between 3PM and 8PM, the restaurant does the happy hour(s) and so you can get 2 cocktails for the price of 1. We really enjoyed our experience and hope to be back soon!
Steph G — Google review
We were excited for some real Tex Mex food, but disappointed with what we received. My wife's "brisket" wasn't of the seared then slowly-smoked variety, it was more like a pot roast, and the gravy had an interesting flavor we couldn't pinpoint. I had the angus beef fajitas, and some of the beef was tough and fatty, but everything else about the fajita was good; I would order the chicken fajita next time. 70 Euro for lunch also seemed expensive, as we only had 1 beer and a bottle of water to drink.

You are going to love this place. I am Mexican born, lived in the border for 10 good years so trust me here: Tex Mex South has the best Tex Mex food in Malta. You want to order, Nachos and Buffalo chicken wings ( the best in the island) but if you can't take the heat go for the BBQ Ribs. You also want to try the strawberry frozen margaritas. If you like the Chilli's kind (you know what I mean?) You will love this one. Best margaritas in Malta! They also have a decent Tequila selection. Jose Cuervo añejo is available too. If you like Brisket, they used to serve a pretty decent one too, with the biscuit and all -at least pre CoVID, the menu has changed since then. Desserts are awesome to, Try the Mud pie or an ice-cream, You won't be disappointed! The kids menue is great too, try the pasta (and if you don't like it, send it back- they will work on it until it's just right) Portions used to be American size, now they are just decent European BB it still good. If dinning in, try Friday as they host good live music. If in CoVID lockdown, do not trust the opening hours and call before going. I am a regular here, I love it and I hope you would too!

I frequented this restaurant several times and it never ceases to amaze me. Incredibly tasty food with very good cocktails. The service is great, the ambience is great and the prices are modest. I highly recommend the ribeye and the cocktails.
