Art Museums
The Modernism Museum, located in downtown Mount Dora, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. Established in 2013, the museum showcases a remarkable collection of midcentury modern furniture from prominent figures like George Nakashima and Wendell Castle. With rotating exhibits that change annually, visitors can explore diverse pieces including the estate of rock star David Bowie. The museum's focus on contemporary applied arts offers an immersive experience spanning from mid-century modern to present-day creations.
Really interesting museum in Mount Dora. Memphis design is not my favorite, but I enjoyed the exhibit regardless. I love David Bowie, and seeing his pieces was really cool. Discount at the museum store with your ticket!
Heather M — Google review
I didn’t get any pics. This was a quick little walk through. Tribute to David Bowie, interesting pieces for sure. When you get your ticket you can also get a discount at the shop across the street. The lady at the front was really nice.

If you ever wanted to visit an beutiful Florida town, swing by Mt. Dora Florida. And check out the Modernism Museum, it is a small Museum could take you 30min to an hour to see everything, but for price its a nice little stop. Adults are $8 and they do have discount admission for Military, kids and others just ask the desk. My wife and i went and loved it, they have a few pieces from David Bowe's personal collection. The gift shop is the reason its only 4 stars. It was nice, but not alot of items about the Museum itself it did however support local artists so thats a plus. Afterwards have a walk around town and enjoy a beutiful local florida town.

We enjoyed the museum. It was very interesting. They have a cute little gift shop too.

We had seen reviews of this museum prior to visiting the idyllic town of Mount Dora so called in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The museum was a peaceful haven which turned out to be a little gem of a place ! The lady who explained everything to us was very pleasant and knowledgeable and left us to just wander and discover it for ourselves ending with a good video explaining the origins of the work . The David Bowie pieces were the icing on the very striking , colourful cake as we say in the UK . I thoroughly recommend a visit to this museum it would be a shame to miss it
Alistair O — Google review
What a sweet little museum in the heart of Mount Dora. They have a video introduction to the Memphis Group which created all the art currently on display and it provided great background. I loved the art and the explanations accompanying it. $8 admission. Limited hours so check first. The gift shop across the street is very nice too.
Veronica B — Google review
Small museum, jam packed with unique exhibits. They have two different rooms where you can watch the history of each exhibit, as well as a guide who walks you through each of the pieces. I wish it was bigger, but based on it's location it makes sense. It's basically in the heart of downtown Mount Dora and it's surrounded by great places to eat & drink. It's also reasonably priced to enter. Great staff and interesting exhibits that apparently change from time to time. If you're big on modern art, it won't disappoint.

Awesome collection! As an interior designer residing in Mount Dora, I really enjoyed this representation of the Memphis Movement. Thank you for such a great experience... ❤

The GateHouse at Lakeside Inn is a historic hotel located on the picturesque Lake Dora, offering breathtaking sunset views. The Beauclaire Restaurant, known for its Southern-inspired dishes, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This charming inn dates back to 1883 and is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Florida. With its great food and stunning lake views, it's a top recommendation for visitors to Mount Dora.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about our shopping experience with Kris Palmisano the most lovely manager of The Gatehouse Gift Gallery at the beautiful Historic Lakeside Inn Mount Dora Florida. From the moment you walk up thru the garden on that welcoming gorgeous front porch You feel transported back in time.🌷💗🌷 The gallery and shop no different. We were greeted with a warm smile, and right away were mesmerized by all the one of a kind gifts and art pieces. Kris came over introduced herself, and gave us a history of the Gatehouse, and how it came to be. She was a wealth of knowledge, and I felt like we were receiving a private tour. I came home with so many one of a kind gifts for others, and of course my special gentleman gifted me with such an outstanding frame print by a local artist which I had said I loved the moment we walked thru the door. It is of the iconic front porch of the hotel where the restaurant has tables and serves breakfast lunch and dinners outside. Memories of many delicious meals there overlooking spectacular Lake Dora.💗 They have a little something there for everyone, and the prices are reasonable. So many perfect keepsakes, and she features different local artists monthly. Kris builds relationships, Takes a genuine interest in her guests, and that is a gift. We plan to go back there again and again. I highly recommend this Gallery and shop if you are looking for that special gift for yourself or another The service is outstanding, along with the selection. Nature & Parks
Parks
Palm Island Park is an 8-acre nature preserve in Mount Dora, offering a picturesque setting for outdoor activities. The park features a 420-foot wooden boardwalk that extends over Lake Dora, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting and bird-watching. Visitors can explore additional footpaths and nature trails within the park, surrounded by oak, old cypress trees, and tall cabbage.
Palm Island Park is a spectacular place to take a walk on the boardwalk. You can usually expect to see some gators and some pretty Florida birds. My wife and I saw a huge gator on a recent visit and it was an amazing site. It’s an old Florida experience that you do not want to miss. If friends or relatives come for a visit you want to bring them here!
Jerrold F — Google review
Love Palm Island! There are 2 trail options, nature or water. You can walk through a winding trail through the FL bush or you can walk along the boardwalk. There are plenty of benches along boardwalk with covered pavilions. Great place to get grounded again and relax.
Samantha B — Google review
Great park to spend a Sunday afternoon! Well kept and very quiet! The boardwalk along the lake takes you on a picturesque hike. So authenticly Floridian! Venture off into the many paths across the park and enjoy nature! Watch out for gators! We saw a baby gator in the water. Loved the time spent - slight breeze kept it cool! Highly recommend!
Dessie H — Google review
Lovely nature trail and Boardwalk. Very lively with Wildlife! You can rent kayaks and fish off the boardwalk. Please respect when you visit! Very gorgeous and well maintained!
Boogy M — Google review
It's a beautiful park. Plenty of shade. Lots of wildlife. The boardwalk is so awesome to see the different wildlife from. On my visit we saw baby gators, a hawk, a wood pecker and numerous birds that I can't remember the names of. Will definitely be going back
Connie H — Google review
Wow! This is a hidden gem!! To say it feels like a bayou jungle adventure at a Disney park is to on one hand show how little of true old natural Florida we have experienced and also to allude to the magical discovery of every step of this charming boardwalk path! While we were not comfortable venturing into the side trails so very near alligators, there were picnic tables and intriguing trails scattered off the raised path you could try! Dogs seemed to be welcome but we were not comfortable with that either as we observed the wildlife throughout! The birds were majestic!! Several bird varieties to our untrained eye and some new ones to us. There was an elusive turtle and an incredible rookery of birds roosting at days end. So many places to stop and rest if you need and shelter from the sun. The path was excellent for a mobility walker or stroller. We admired the dramatic trees and fading sunlight. Boats passed by and a jet ski. All of us loved this short excursion and could imagine the joy of returning again and again at different times of day and seasons. An absolute must see if anywhere nearby for the whole family. Mount Dora itself is a sweet destination of historic homes and darling cafes and shoppes. Include Palm Island Park on your itinerary!
K G — Google review
Beautiful scenery to walk and enjoy nature. Boardwalk along the lakeside which connects to a trail that leads around to the entrance. A lot of wildlife along the way including alligators, turtles and birds. There is also a children's playground adjacent to the park across the street.
Charles R — Google review
Love the walk through Palm Island Park at sunset. There are so many opportunities for great photos and lots of wildlife to see. Gators, snakes, blue herons, turtles, raccoons, frogs, and even huge locust now. They really need to put together a Crew to pick up trash though. It's sad to see such a beautiful plot of land get so full of trash.

Lake
Lake Dora, a stunning 4,500-acre gem located just 40 minutes from Orlando, is a must-visit destination that beautifully blends nature and culture. Once a retreat for hunting and fishing enthusiasts arriving by steamboat, today it attracts visitors eager to experience its vibrant wildlife and picturesque surroundings. The charming town of Mount Dora offers an array of antique shops, art galleries, and delightful restaurants nestled along tree-lined streets adorned with palms and majestic oaks draped in Spanish moss.
Beautiful, peaceful, calming. The view of the town, Mount Dora, across the lake looks like the beautiful island of Mackinac from across the Straits. A very different part of Florida that many people are unaware of. The hills, Spanish moss, palm trees, bird life, the occasional alligator surrounding Lake Dora is enchanting. And I haven't even seen the Lake Dora Canal yet, which people describe as looking like a movie set!

Beautiful city with a beautiful and perfect lake for sunsets. Makes it a bit romantic and relaxing. Definitely should visit.

Chris M — Google review
A very nice place for a weekend getaway. Worth taking a sunset boat cruise for an hour to get a closer look at the lake and the shore. With a bit of luck, you can see some wild life such as alligators and white head eagles.
Jocelyn A — Google review
Beautiful lake with a nice drop of the city of Mt. Dora. You can see alligators and other wildlife if you're on a boat ride. A great way to appreciate the town and relax in the water.
Adriana P — Google review
One of my favorite places to visit in Central Florida. This is a very charming little town with wildlife around every corner and down every pathway. I always feel like I'm going back in time as we drive in and this is a beautiful experience every visit. I am so impressed with the preservation of history that has happened in this little town.
Denita S — Google review
Lake Dora along with the Dora canal are some of the most beautiful places in Florida. If you've never done the Dora Canal boat trip, it's worth the price of admission. The lakes wildlife, beauty and history are well documented. Lake Dora is part of the chain of lakes that includes access to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Goblin Market Restaurant & Lounge is a charming bistro located in downtown Mount Dora, offering an eclectic menu with dishes from around the world. The restaurant is housed in a historic residence and features artful masterpieces, including a Murano glass chandelier and hand-crafted tables. With a focus on local Florida ingredients, the elevated fare by celebrated chef Norman Van Aken pays homage to modernity and sustainability.
I had a hard time finding this place. I think we circled the block twice. That being said once we got in there it is a warm dark atmosphere that offers world class food. Best meal I have had in Mt. Dora and there are some good spots around town. I have a hard time trying new spots and not just returning each time I am back. If you are having a hard time deciding where to eat I will make it easy, it's here go here and if you are thinking of another place you're wrong.

This magical little restaurant was quite the surprise! If you are in Mt Dora or planning to visit, The Goblin Restaurant should be on your dining list! Walking into the restaurant, I immediately thought of Narnia. I felt like we were transported into this beautiful, secret library and fed the most delicious meal! Everything we ordered from the deviled eggs appetizer to the crème brûlée dessert was incredible! I recommend the gourmet toasted cheese, it a classy/elevated grilled cheese with caramelized onions and bacon! So delicious! Our server was very attentive, we waited for nothing and were not rushed! I am looking forward to returning for dinner in the near future! Well done, Goblin Market!! 5 ⭐️

Came in recently to enjoy lunch with a friend and my infant son. We were promptly greeted at the front and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We had a stroller with us other wise we would have been immediately sat up stairs. We started with some apps and drinks. I had the Irish whiskey onion soup, my friend had the crab bisque and we split the ciabatta board, these were paired with the red red wine and my boyfriend’s back. Everything was delicious! Our server Victoria was kind, attentive, and patient while we picked out our mains. To be fair everything sounded appetizing so it was difficult to pick just one! We landed on the toasted cheese and cashew chicken sandwich. Both very good and filling. We’ve made note to come back again and possibly try dinner. Although this was a bit of a pricey lunch, the food, the service, and time was worth it. IMO

If you are in Mount Dora, I highly recommend visiting. It's a fun atmosphere, while being a little more upscale. We did only visit the dining room on the first floor. We visited mid-June in 2025. We came for the whiskey irish onion soup. It was topped with fried onions, which was just ok for me. The broth was very good, but overall it wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered the sesame-garlic salmon plate. I have recently stopped eating salt, so I am tasting it quite a bit more. I felt this was a bit salty for my taste, but other than that it had good flavors. The portion was generous, and it was light enough after having the bowl of soup. My husband had their burger, which he did enjoy. I would definitely come back, and try something different. I loved the waiter and atmosphere.

My wife and I dined here in the early evening of August 13, 2025 in conjunction with a camping trip at nearby Kelly Park about 12 miles away. We had read about it prior to our trip, but we neglected to make a dinner reservation. It was a little hard to find, but we stumbled upon it in a side street after asking a local for directions as we explored downtown Mount Dora in search of it. When we arrived, the hosted said they were fully booked for the evening (and it was a Wednesday night in the summer off season), but she said there were two seats at the bar upstairs. We gladly accepted her offer, and were impressed by the beautiful inside decor and atmosphere of the restaurant as we walked to the bar to be seated. The bar and adjacent high top tables were not full yet (at 6:00 pm) so we sat and chatted with the two very friendly and professional bartenders for a few minutes, then order drinks and an appetizer (Puff Pastry Escargot). The appetizer was SO GOOD, we decided to stay and eat a full dinner, so my wife ordered a salad with beef tenderloin tips, and I ordered a rolled asiago chicken and a side cesar salad. Everything was just FIRST CLASS declicious and presented like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. This is probably the finest caliber dining you can find in Mount Dora or nearby towns of Tavares and Leesburg.

This food was fantastic. The whole experience was over the top! Our server, Tony, was amazing. The Bacon Jam Burger was delicious and the fruit cup just made me smile. These guys know how to make you happy!
Cathy R — Google review
We have been looking for a place like this for a long time. The service was professional and so kind. Our waitress Sara was so knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations and spoke so highly of the ingredients used. It was a pleasure speaking with her and very impressed with the pride she had in working at the Gobblin Market. The food did not let us down. After eating at so many disappointing places this was a gem to find. You can tell from only being there once that they are consistent. We ordered the ciabatta bread platter to start. My husband had the bacon jam burger and I had the cashew chicken sandwich. The food was hot and everything was absolutely delicious. The way food should be made and served. For dessert we had the crèmé brulé with strawberries and whipped cream. Needless to say there was nothing left on the plate. We cannot wait to come back. Congratulations on such an amazing menu!!!! 👏

My husband and I and some friends were visiting from out of town and happened to find this absolute gem! We only stopped in for drinks since we had made prior plans for food, but are looking forward to returning to try the menu. The drinks were fantastic and the staff were amazing!

Seafood restaurant
Pisces Rising is a popular seafood and steakhouse in Florida that offers Caribbean-inspired cuisine. The restaurant is housed in a Florida bungalow and features a beautiful deck with waterfront views. Known for its upscale dining experience, Pisces Rising uses fresh, local ingredients to create their flavorful dishes. With a casual lakefront setting and occasional live music performances, it's an enjoyable spot for lunch or dinner.
So good, we came here TWICE in one weekend! Came because it was on the "Best of 2025" list. We lucked out at 6:30 pm on a Friday and walked right in without a reservation. Our server was absolutely lovely and we LOVED our dinners. Recommend the Dora Canal cocktail, shrimp and grits, and the skirt steak. Both dishes had leftovers to take home. On our return trip, we visited the bar and listened to a great band play the town's namesake song. The noise level outside at the bar was perfect - still able to talk without yelling despite the band playing. One of the few restaurants that have a water view, and loved our visits! 100% recommend!

Wow beautiful presentations of the deserts!!! We ordered the blueberry cheesecake🫐, Creme brûlée🍮 as well as the chocolate cherry cake🍒…..and let me tell you they tasted AMAZING! Not only was the way they looked aesthetically pleasing, but they tasted phenomenal! Angela was amazing and super kind. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sky view😍

Pisces Rising has without a doubt the best location for dining in Mount Dora. We enjoyed an excellent dinner on the terrace facing the lake, which made the evening truly special. The food was delicious, we had the paella, and it was outstanding. Service was very good, attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere relaxing and elegant at the same time. There’s also a nice bar option in the back, plus both indoor and outdoor dining, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.
Fernando A — Google review
My wife and I dined here on August 12, 2025 while visiting Mount Dora in conjunction with a nearby camping trip to Kelly Park in nearby Apopka. Prior to our trip, we had read the good reviews about this place, so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately we neglected to make a reservation, but we walked in about 5:15 pm thinking we could get a window-side table, but unfortunately those had all been reserved by other diners, who all showed up at around 6:00 pm. The restaurant looks like it used to be a large house or inn, and it sits up on the side of a hill overlooking the small Mount Dora Yacht Club and beautiful Lake Dora. It has a large wood deck with tables outside, an outside bar that seats about 25, and an inside elevated bar that seats about 20, and large inside dining room with about 20 tables. We were seated in a back corner below the bar, but still had a decent view of the lake. Our server was very professional, polite and prompt. My wife had the Wedge Salad and I had the Seafood Paella (a specialty here) and both of our meals were delicious. If you are visiting Mount Dora, Tavares, or Leesburg, this place is one of the top restaurants in the area and definitely worth a visit to for casual, but upscale dining. I would definitely recommend you make a reservation, particularly if you are planning to dine here anytime during the busy fall and winter months when tourists and snowbirds abound. We were there in mid-August and it was still quite busy with local residents by the time we finished dinner at 7:30 pm. It certainly has the best water view of any other restaurant in Mount Dora.
Edward M — Google review
A must visit if you want a scenic view overlooking the lake. Mount Dora was such a beautiful little town. I really enjoyed spending time there. The outdoor patio was very dog friendly and it was a relaxing, cool vibe. My only complaint was the salad I ordered was marinated steak tips and I don’t know what they did, but the meat was inedible because it was so sour. Perhaps the wrong marinade or marinated too long 🤪.

Great! Pisces Rising is worth it. Chefs, Ellis our waiter, and waterfront ambiance were all fantastic. They recommended Shrimp and Grits, Mushroom Ravioli, and Ceasar Salad which were all delicious and filling. We will return again. P.S. - Who is the Richy guy? 😄

I thought i did this 2 years ago and am just realizing it never happened 😭 this vendor was the only vendor of our whole wedding that we would recommend. people still tell us how delicious our food was and how much they enjoyed the wedding. We had a cutting station with the steak and the chimichurri sauce and also went with what was essentially a white wine chicken and it was so delicious. We had about 200 or so guests and 2 years later, everyone still reminds us how delicious our food was. They don't talk about the venue, the flowers, the bar. But EVERYONE mentions the food. Amazing and would absolutely recommend. By the way, the tasting was also equally amazing. We were so unsure of things at the time with what we were planning with the vendors, but we felt so confident with our food vendor and again in retrospect... best decision we ever made. could not go with a better choice for a wedding food vendor. THANK YOU CHRIS and the Pisces rising team

British restaurant
Nestled in the charming West End district of Mount Dora, the Magical Meat Boutique British Pub offers a delightful escape for those seeking comfort food and a relaxed atmosphere. This family-friendly establishment is celebrated for its authentic British fare, including beloved classics like Bangers and Mash, English Fish n Chips, and gourmet burgers. With an inviting vibe that encourages guests to unwind, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time from 8 am until midnight.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service. The food tasted authentic and came quickly. Just tried some apps but was very impressed. If you can make an onion ring taste better than you’ve ever had, you’re doing something right.

What a great evening visiting the Magical Meat Boutique in the heart of Mount Dora. Prime Rib Night (Friday after 4) was excellent! I love Prime Rib and the cut I received for my dinner was worth every penny. The sides that come with the dish were also delicious and plenty. The service we received and the conversation we had with various staff made it an even better evening. They are very personable, quick, and very proud of the establishment they represent. This location will be closing soon, which is sad because walking around Mt Dora afterwards on a Friday evening, makes for a great and tranquil date night. Fear not, another location has softly opened nearby. Please check their page for details. I would recommend this business to those looking for a casual night out with friends, family and even alone works. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Awesome bartender/server A+. Had the Haddock and homecut fries and the scotch eggs as an appetizer. What a meal 😍 You get a huge serving that will fill you up quick! I thought everything was priced right for the meal. Highly recommend the place.

Came for weekend breakfast. There was plenty of seating inside and out. Be forewarned, though, the outdoor seating is smoking friendly. Staff was incredibly friendly and very responsive. Food came out annoyingly hot, not that that’s really an issue. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned. Excellent portion size, will definitely have to come back for the dinner menu. Went with the “full Monty” for breakfast basically a little bit of everything that is British. Not just wheelchair friendly, more wheelchair encouraged. Everything is flat, large aisles, areas where you can move tables to accommodate different size parties. There are one or two doors that might be a little difficult to get through, but there are multiple alternate entrances they also havedaily/weekly events that they post month by month. Check their calendar for latest updates. Waitress did mention that they are open on holidays, though they have not yet posted the special holiday menus at the time of rating. Thanksgiving and Christmas reservations basically required, and you could accommodate a party of 30 in there no problem.

This is the third location for the Magical Meat Boutique. I was a big fan at the original location where the rail car is in Mount Dora. The second location was hard to get to hard to park and I always felt was very noisy. Taking over the old barbecue place on Old State Road 19 in Tavares has a great deal of potential. Today's lunch could not have been better. I had the best fish and chips that I can remember in quite some time. I chose the more expensive cod but it was well worth it. They're still working the kinks out, but it's a positive attitude and a great kitchen history that continues since the 1500s back in London. Parking is easy and they're open great hours. My lunch partner had the English breakfast which is advertised for weekends only. Not sure whether they just extended the courtesy to us for Wednesday, but it was very much appreciated. Give this a place a try. You won't be disappointed.

We had Bangers and mash in the hole and codfish and chips. The cod fish was the best I've had in a very long time. My gramps was from England and this dinner reminder me of him. My husband loved them. The yorkshire pudding bowl added a great flair to the dish It was karaoke night there. We had an amazing time. Staff even participated by singing. It was a lot of fun. The portions were well worth the price. Prices were pretty average for the area. I would highly recommend this bar and restaurant!

We are used to the magical meeting in downtown Mount Dora in the nice atmosphere sitting around in the evening. I don’t know why they moved, but we decided to try the new place. I had the breakfast combination full Scottish and my friend had the other breakfast combination, I think it was called the full Monty both were really good and it was nice to be able to taste a little bit of everything. My husband had the vegetable omelette and he said it was excellent fresh vegetables and everything in it and our other friend had a typical American style breakfast and it was good there was nothing wrong with anything. We were quite impressed, especially with the service since the server was on our own and running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I wish them the best in their new location and I hope to see them again soon. PS I’m sure glad you’re outside is smoker friendly because I have friends that smoke and I like to sit with them and enjoy the atmosphere.

We came in and sat ourselves, which was fine. The restaurant was dead, just us and another family. The waiter was an older lady who was clearly forgetful and unorganized. Someone else brought out our appetizer but didn’t give us any plates, so we ate it from the tray it came on. The waiter(the older lady) walked halfway toward us with the plates, then set them down at another table instead. Later, she brought those same plates to us after we had already finished eating the appetizer. I ordered a burger with onion rings, the burger was great, but she forgot the onion rings completely. I let her know as soon as she handed us the food. After I finished eating, she came to check on us and said, “Oh, the onion rings,” realizing she never put them in. I had already been waiting and ended up waiting even longer for them to come out. By the time they finally did, I didn’t even want them anymore. She never apologized for the mistake and still charged us separately for the onion rings, even though they were supposed to be part of the meal with just an upcharge. Not once did she smile or seem friendly the entire time. Worst service ever — would not recommend.

Fifth Avenue Streatery is a charming outdoor restaurant that has recently celebrated its first year in business despite the challenges of the pandemic. The owners, Tim Habjan and Deborah McGann, have persisted in offering Southern Fusion Meets Down-Home Cooking, All Made Daily From Scratch. They even have a special menu for dogs! The restaurant has gained popularity for its innovative take on Southern classics like fried green tomatoes and comfort foods like hotdogs.
We found this restaurant through Bringfido.com for a dog friendly atmosphere. It is an open air restaurant, basically the exterior of a converted gas station on a busy corner. However, the food is so exceptional and the staff so charming it was a hit with us. Our server, Luke, was beyond personable and attentive. I had the succulent Mt Dora Burger, oozing with flavor and cooked to perfection. The bacon potato salad was good, but the burger required my full attention and capacity. My husband had the Drunken Steer and onion rings and was fully satisfied with both. Prices are so reasonable and A++ on value for the money. We hope to try the dinner menu next time we are in the area.

I ordered the Crab Dip on Door Dash but they were out of it. They substituted the Asian Shrimp. I have eaten at this location many times and have found the food really good. The Asian Shrimp was by far the best thing I have ever eaten from this restaurant. In fact, it was one of the best things I have eaten in recent memory. I can not express how great this place is

We were in town for the first time on a day trip and wanted a place to eat outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown. Found this place on Google and decided to try it out. It was worth it. Staff was extremely friendly a.d although the seating was outdoor, the shade of the trees and nice breeze made it comfortable. The food was good as well,we had the burger, tacos and fish sandwich. All of it was good, including the shrimp appetizer. It's not fancy here, but it's also not a bad place for a quick bite.

Great place to take your favorite pooch. They have a dog menu that includes chicken and ice cream (not together). Service was great. Even the patrons were friendly!

We had lunch here because of the dog menu! Fantastic! Who does that! We found great food and better service. I had the Mt Dora burger which was cooked perfectly. I have been assessing hamburgers for years and this is in my top 10. I'd say in the top 5 in this FL area. We brought our dog and the folks couldn't have been kinder. We'll definietly be back.

Dropped by over the weekend. It wasn’t our original plan but stumbled across this little gem by pure luck. Sadly, the weather wasn’t great but the covered outdoor seating was a blessing and the heaters were on, which made a world of difference. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was very good AND THEY HAVE A DOGGIE MENU! This went down extremely well with our little pup. All-in-all a great experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Wave - Asian Bistro & Sushi in Mount Dora offers a unique dining experience with its fusion cuisine. The menu features inventive sushi dishes like sushi burgers, burritos, pizza, and hot dogs alongside traditional options. In addition to sushi, they also serve hibachi meals and poke bowls. The restaurant has gained popularity on social media for its visually appealing sushi creations. Customers rave about the Orange Chicken dish and recommend trying the Mount Dora roll or Volcano Roll from their fantastic sushi menu.
Oh creative! What I went with a friend and we grabbed a couple of things that are all interesting! THE PORTIONS ARE PRETTY BIG. The sushi tots I’d say is my least favorite, there is a lot of rice tots. The donut was really good but also a lot of rice… there is a mix of seafood on the top and the selection you make is what the inside is filled with. I picked spicy tuna. The paradise roll was pretty good, balance out the other dishes that had the rice. Environment There is parking right outside. The inside is like fast casual style.. but it is a sit down restaurant. Niceness of the staff Super nice staff. Had the patience while I was looking at photos online and asking what it was. Thank you for the recommendations! Dollar It is pretty decent but getting a new things can add up Yes/no Yes I would come back

After hearing about this place from a few people, we made our way there last night and it was a great experience! The menu is full of such creative and unique dishes. We ordered a sushi pizza which was so good and the hot dog which was such a great explosion of flavor with every bite! The young man that served us was truly amazing - He was super attentive - constantly checking on us, he was funny and took such good care of us! Though we had a wait, he made it better experience.

We visited WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi and overall it was a great experience. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The creative fusion dishes and friendly service were the highlights, with just a few minor issues in the ambiance keeping it from a perfect score. We ordered the spicy shrimp “sushi hot dog” and one of their sushi pizzas, and both dishes were as flavorful as they were inventive. The hot dog (a sushi roll cleverly presented like a hot dog) had a good kick of spice yet remained well-balanced: a nice heat that doesn’t overwhelm the fresh shrimp and other ingredients. The pizza was another fun fusion surprise: it might sound unusual, but it turned out delicious, with fresh fish and tasty toppings coming together like an Asian twist on a comfort food. You can tell a lot of thought went into these unique menu items, and they definitely delivered on flavor and creativity. The service at WAVE was very good. Our server was attentive and genuinely friendly, checking on us often without hovering. Despite the restaurant being busy and lively, we never felt neglected. Water glasses were refilled promptly, and the staff was happy to answer our questions about the menu (which was helpful given the many unusual offerings!). The overall impression was that the team cares about their guests having a good time. The restaurant has a lively, energetic vibe. It’s clearly a popular spot. However, be aware that the ambiance is on the darker side and gets pretty loud. While the space was clean and comfortable, the interior decor itself felt a bit old and tired. The furnishings and overall look could use a refresh to match the modern creativity of the menu. This slightly dated atmosphere was really the only downside of our visit, and it held the experience back from being a full 5-star outing. WAVE is a fantastic place if you’re looking to try something different and fun. The fusion sushi creations (like that hot dog and sushi pizza) are flavorful and memorable, and the friendly service makes you feel welcome. If they updated the interior and maybe toned down the noise just a notch, it would easily be a 5-star experience. As it stands, it’s a strong 4-star for me.

Wow! This place was amazing! Not only was the food, innovative and creative, but freaking delicious! Really good value as well, we got so much food and there were so many things we wanted to try so we’re going to have to go back! We started with the Sushi tots- total, Yum! Great flavor, and a nice amount of spices. And a huge serving! Then we had the Godzilla roll and the softshell taco, which was insane! This place was just fun. The food is fun. The staff is great and we can’t wait to go back.

food was amazing! really like the asian fusion sushi. Our server was awesome and gave us great recommendations, like the krab rangoon mozzarella sticks (a MUST). We were happy with the amount of food, 2 apps, 5 rolls and the crunch wrap for 5 people. we will be returning on our next trip to Mount Dora!

Well… the hype for this place and my months of seeing them on Instagram wishing I could go, finally paid off. Amazing. The sushi burger was HUGE I had to use a fork and knife (a sin I know) but my jaw doesn’t unhinge like that. It was so good, they give so much spicy tuna. The price is worth it. Same thing for the pizza! Huge! Also eaten with a fork and knife. So many options to choose from but very happy with our choices. Would love to go back and try more, even fried in hot Cheetos. The staff were all very nice and helpful when we couldn’t decide! Inside was very clean, service was quick too. A must try for sure :)

Expectations exceeded several years in the making! My wife and I have been following Wave on TikTok for several years now, and we finally got the chance to visit. It was even better than expected, we got the sushi hot dog, the tuna supreme pizza, and the sushi crunch wrap supreme. The amount of fish was extremely generous, probably the most generous we’ve ever had for us being longtime sushi fanatics. Tasted fresh and delicious and was way more affordable than I expected. For the amount of fish we had I expected easily 50% higher prices. We made an hour detour on a road trip to visit and we’re sad we don’t live closer, otherwise we’d be coming here every other week!

Food was good but not as great as I expected, still good though! Service was amazing love the atmosphere and the restaurant. Parking is a nightmare though.
