Art museum
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is a cultural gem in the region, offering a diverse range of attractions for visitors. The museum features an extensive collection of 18th-century art, including decorative arts and fine art from Europe and America. Additionally, it houses a captivating assortment of miniature houses and rooms. One of its current highlights is the Steinlen: Cats exhibition, showcasing the work of artist Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen.
Wonderful museum rich in local history of the Shenandoah Valley. There are seasonal and annual art exhibits along with manicured gardens to explore. The 90 acres boasts more than 3 miles of walking trails and wildlife to explore. Prices are very reasonable at $25 per adult, $17 for seniors and $12 for students. Children under 12 are free. There are incredible artifacts from the early periods of the 1800s and history from earlier periods. There is a nice gift shop and bathrooms and the staff was wonderful and helpful. Great place to spend at least an hour or two inside and up to 3-4 hours walking the grounds. Highly recommend.

I’ve lived in Northern VA for decades, but was unaware of the museum until a friend recently recommended it. The museum is excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and Glen Burnie house was very cool. We will definitely be recommending it as a fun day trip from the DC area!

You can spend the entire day at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley! There is so much more than just a museum on the property and everything is included with your museum ticket (excluding special events). We walked through the museum - it was nice with a lot of artifacts and great information. This is a self guided tour so you walk through and read the signs. We especially enjoyed walking the grounds. Unfortunately we ran out of time and daylight to walk any of the trails available in addition to the extensive museum grounds but we will return to do that next year! We had a lot of fun locating all the statues on the scavenger hunt page available at the Garden Gate House and trying to find all the Gnomes on the property! That may have been part of the special Garden Lights event, but if the museum reads this - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU KEEP THE GNOMES and the scavenger hunt! We walked through all the homes and buildings on the museum property and all the gardens and found all but 1 Gnome! Also ... anyone visiting - you absolutely must visit the Tea House and explore the Bamboo Garden! The bamboo garden - is like walking into a jungle, it is hidden behind large red metal gates, full of mystery and excitement! Unfortunately there was a sign near the entrance that said trail was closed - so we did not go in - but I did peek my head in and I can not wait to go back and explore inside the Bamboo Garden!!!! There are also miles of trails that loop and weave around the museum grounds! The trails are free to use any day, from like 7a- dusk I believe. We will return to explore bamboo garden and all the trails when we return to the area next year! Highly recommend you visit and enjoys the history, the gardens and the trails!!!!

Absolutely love this place. Every time we've went they have had different spotlight on the arts. Last time was metal dinosaurs sculptures. Just amazing! Well worth the money. Buy online for a few dollars discount. Great on cooler days.

Small but very well curated museum with exhibits in history, flora, fauna, as well as temporary exhibits. They had Frida Calho when we visited. The gardens are also very well kept, and they had art installations. The top of the hill has a view. The pretty cows were a plus. But don't feed them!
Nizar F — Google review
This museum is AWESOME! If you have a chance to visit don't miss it. The historic house and gardens are also fantastic in addition to the museum proper. Plan to spend the day. Also check their website for special events and free days if you are on a budget. I just attended a concert in the drawing room this past weekend and can say that if you love live chamber music preformed by top rate musicians don't miss the chance to attend one of the next concerts offered this season on the MSV events website. A truly sublime experience!

Recently my husband and I have really started to enjoy going to museums and historical homes and gardens. Coming to visit Winchester this was a must see for us. The cost of admission also covered seeing the house and gardens. There are a few exhibits in the museum photography is not allowed but many areas you can. The house had a few rooms to walk thru on the main floor but really the gardens and walking areas were amazing! We were there late October so the gardens were not full bloom but no less beautiful of a place.

We have been members for years. We love the MSV!! We always bring out of town family when they come to visit. We especially love the gardens and the outdoor exhibits. The annual Christmas card and other mailings we receive through the year is a nice personal touch.

Children's museum
Sights & Landmarks
Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum is an indoor family attraction that offers interactive science and cultural education alongside play opportunities for children. The museum boasts four floors of educational fun at a very reasonable price, offering classic children's museum activities such as big building blocks, fish and frogs exhibits, and water engineering adventures. Visitors can also enjoy unique experiences like a functioning beehive, optical illusions, and musical instruments on the roof.
Took my 3 year old for the first time on a Thursday morning. It was the perfect time! I assume it is probably really busy during the weekend. We were there for two hours and we both really enjoyed our time together there. The best part is definitely the first and second floor. There is a lot to do! It’s kept very clean. The third level was not too interesting for us and the fourth level doesn’t have much. I definitely recommend it and will be continuing to visit!!
Jenny C — Google review
So glad we stopped in. This children’s museum was so much fun. My children played for 2 1/2 straight and would have stayed longer! They have such a wide variety of play options appealing to all ages. The water feature was especially well done. Professional, friendly, clean, and fun! We will definitely be returning and highly recommend checking it out!
Alexi D — Google review
I took my 5-year-old son to this children’s museum, and it was a fantastic experience! The exhibits were stimulating, engaging, and designed to spark curiosity and imagination. He loved exploring the hands-on activities, and it was wonderful to see him learning while having so much fun. The museum provides a perfect mix of education and entertainment, making it a great place for kids to explore their creativity. The staff was friendly, and the environment was clean and safe. Highly recommend this spot for families looking for an enriching and fun outing!

What a great place to go to spend the day or a few hours. The Virginia Farm Market exhibit was great to see with the cow and horse. I did like the Bee hive as well.
Marie L — Google review
Such a fun, interactive place for kids of all ages! My 11 year old and teen had fun playing around with our toddler. There are 4 levels of educational, hands-on fun. We plan to come back soon!
Jessica Z — Google review
The older lady at the counter is the best. She talked with our grandson about his first visit. Even though he could have cared less. She took the time. Thanks for a great visit. He loved the water table.
Jenye K — Google review
This is an amazing place for children, there are plenty of things for them to discover and play with. There are 4 floors of activities and plenty to do including an outdoor play area on the roof! Rest rooms on every floor, an elevator too. Parking is right next door or on the street and access is easy. You won't be disappointed by going here.
Paul D — Google review
Very fun place to take the kids with more than enough to keep them occupied for at least 2 hours. There are 4 floors, with one being the roof with musical instruments. On a nice day, the rooftop is a great place to be. To get from floor to floor, you can take an elevator or take steps and let them burn more energy. The type things for my kids was the be hive they had through the window, the slide, and the musical instrument's. All in all, for the price that you are paying, you are getting a great hands-on way for your kids to spend their time.

The Patsy Cline Historic House is a modest 2-story family home in Winchester, Virginia, where the legendary country music singer lived from 1948 to 1953. The Greek revival home has been transformed into a museum dedicated to her life and career. Visitors can explore the preserved residence and learn about her journey to stardom through guided tours or a self-guided driving tour of other significant locations associated with Patsy Cline in Winchester.
I make an annual trip to an event that is near Winchester and last year found out that this was where Patsy Cline was from! We built in some extra time this year so we could visit the historic house. The tour was really great and definitely learned more about her life. Nice little gift shop inside, glad to support the local efforts to keep her history alive! Tour was about 30 minutes, all inside. Nice porch to sit and wait on if there's a tour already going on, no need to book ahead. There are some steep stairs to get to the second floor to see the bedroom, but otherwise all pretty accessible. I was driving my RV so I had to park on the Main Street and it was about an 8 minute walk, with some hills but no problem. My friend and I really enjoyed the history! Last photo posts directions to the cemetery where she's buried, not too far away.
Sandy A — Google review
I had a drs appointment and this gem was a mile away. What can one say? It's Patsy's old home! Originally a log cabin and upgraded by her mother throughout the years. Beautiful pine floors and I love how they have her original items throughout the home. The tour is 30 minutes and the fee for that is $8 dollars. It's in a community and off street parking is limited since it's a populated neighborhood. There is no video to be allowed but you may take pictures. No restroom available but it does have a small gift shop. The tour gives a walk through time and space experience. It's like you think, I'm in Patsy's old home. Her mother had turned the home into a rental for some time but then it became a visitor attraction. Highly recommend! You can't help but sing along as her music is played shortly during the tour. Steep stairs so hang on. No where to sit so wear comfortable shoes.
Maria Q — Google review
Thirty minute tour worth the money very interesting history

Rang the doorbell to Patsy's house and got a guided tour from Laurel, who was so incredibly personable that it felt like we were friends just moments after meeting. Laurel was very knowledgeable about Patsy's life and career, easily answering all of our questions. Next door to the house is a walkway and overlook with a Patsy cutout ready for a photo. Anyone crazy about Patsy Cline should go walkin' up to this place, but not after midnight because they're only open from 10-4pm.
Jon R — Google review
I happened to find out about an event here through Facebook and detoured through Winchester to check it out. The house is tiny but it was a wonderful experience. The volunteers were so pleasant and knowledgeable. I got to chat with a few Patsy fans and they really were great people. There is no parking lot, the house is literally in a neighborhood so street parking but there was plenty and it’s walkable if you are in town. Definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area. I hear they do a big event in September and block off a couple streets - it sounded fun!
Miss V — Google review
I loved the tour...the ladies were very knowledgeable. It was very cool to see pictures of her and her family and hear stories of her childhood. The tour guide even met Pasty when she was 16 working at a soda shop. We even went to the grave site after. I really enjoyed it!

Grew up listening to Patsy Cline's music. Tour guide very informative. So glad we decided to take the tour.

George Washington's Office, located in Winchester, VA, is a historic log cabin that served as President George Washington's military office during the 18th century. The museum houses period artifacts and offers a unique glimpse into Washington's life. Visitors can explore the building where strategic plans were made during the French and Indian War and view personal items belonging to George Washington. Additionally, the grounds feature an impressive cannon left by General Edward Braddock.
Really fun museum! It's a short visit. But definitely do the tour. The guy who did our tour was super enthusiastic and gave us a lot of information. He even plays George Washington in a movie! Can definitely recommend going here, worth it. Fun fact, the oldest item in the museum is a Dutch vase.

I would go again, a great opportunity to stand where George Washington stood, to touch what he touched, to have a wonderful tour guide, thoroughly explain with such ease and understandable delivery of the pieces of history was a delight, I would go again and bring more guests if the opportunity ever arose.
Shashoni — Google review
The information Cathy shared about the history of the office and Washington was interesting. We enjoyed listening to her and I can tell she's very passionate about sharing history. It amazes me how small the place was and how many people lived there after it was sold to a family. It was worth going and seeing how people worked and lived. The picture that I shared only the middle part is what George Washington worked in. Later it was extended on both side.
M R — Google review
It’s very interesting to learn about a young George Washington. As a teenager he became a surveyor in western Virginia. He was active in politics in Winchester. This small museum has many rare artifacts of Washington’s life here. Worth a stop for everyone. We visited this museum in the early 1990’s and glad we came back. Worth reinforcing our memory of the first US President that risked his life for us all.

Stopped by for some American history. What a wonderful experience. Loved the way were told the story of George Washingtons life. I highly recommend stopping by.

This is an amazing little museum. Definitely worth the stop. Cathy our tour guide was amazing. She gave us a very personal tour and I learned a lot about George Washington and his life. This place is so under rated. If you are ever in Winchester you need to stop by here. Admission is also under 10$ which makes it a great value as well! I loved it.

Performing arts theater
Concerts & Shows
Bright Box Theater is a lively performance and event space located in the Loudoun Pedestrian Mall at the heart of Winchester. Since its opening in May 2013, it has become a central hub for locals and tourists, hosting a wide range of performances including drag shows, jazz, punk, reggae, rock, comedy acts, jam bands, and themed private parties.
We rented the entire Bright Box in gorgeous Winchester VA for our wedding. The venue provided a unique yet eloquent tone for our special day. It was especially convenient to have Catering, DJ, and media all wrapped into one venue. Nick (Bright Box event coordinator) and the rest of the Bright Box staff were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful during our day. Nick worked very well with our Day of Coordinator to ensure all needs provided by the Bright Box were met promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed the Bright Box for our wedding. Having both the downstairs for our ceremony and dance floor coupled with the upstairs for cocktail hour, pictures, and a quite talking place away from the music made our day complete and provided great flexibility for our guests. We also enjoyed the outside sitting area with our guests on an amazing weather day. Thank you Nick & Bright Box for an amazing day, we're looking forward to checking out a show for our anniversary!

We came here in mid-April to see Them Dirty Roses. This was my first time at this venue. I bought general admission tickets online the day before the show through eventbrite. The show ended up being sold out. My online research told me it was under 300 person capacity so I had an idea of what I was getting into as far as general admission and it being packed. When you walk in, you pass by a room in the front and go down a hallway to the bar area. That was packed. Women’s restrooms are beside the bar. Pass through this room to the back where the stage is located. It was pretty packed in that room when we got there. We missed the first opening act but caught the second opening band. The men’s restroom is in the back of this room. I was expecting the stage to be at the back but it was on the side of the room which ended up being good positioning - allowing people to stand directly in front of the stage but also off to the sides and still get a good view. The sound was good - better than I was expecting for such a small place. We weren’t elbow to elbow, but it was pretty tight. We stood stage left and had room to move around a bit. Some men trying to get through to the bathroom shoved their way there unnecessarily but nothing to cause any issues. Someone making announcement before the band came out said if you have too much to drink find a Brightbox staff member and they will get you an Uber. I thought that was nice. People were singing along and hooting and hollering. It was obvious they really liked the band which I think is cool and I am sure the band loves that. Ticket prices were great. We parked on the street a couple blocks away - parking was free on the weekend. We saw a mine to get in as we arrived but we went and had a drink and ate first so by the time we got to the door, there was no line. As I said, we did miss the first opening act but that was fine with us. We had an overall good experience. I’d say, for a small venue, this is a good place to see a show.
Miss V — Google review
Came here for the “Halloween Who Did It Show. What fun!! The show was very interesting, the staff were great. Our drinks from the bar were good. The food could have been better.
Barbara T — Google review
This is a nice spot. Good view over the river. The food was excellent. Obviously made in house, everything was delicious. Crab prices were high, especially for this time of year (but they were selling them) so opted for other items. Clam strips were awesome! Soft shells were very good as well. The non fried crab cake is excellent. Fried version not so much. Not even comparable.
Greg N — Google review
I was able to see a national act for less than $40. Easy ticket purchase online. Small venue but easy to get to, plenty of street (free after 6pm and weekends) and garage parking (paid). The event was general admission. I felt like I could get a good view of the stage and get as close as I wanted. The sound was good and not too loud. I don't drink but the bar seemed like it may have everything you would want. The bar is in a room off to the side. I enjoyed the experience.

Bonnie Blue Southern Market & Bakery is a charming eatery located in Winchester, housed in a converted gas station from 1920. This American barbecue restaurant offers a delectable menu featuring Southern cuisine favorites such as slow-smoked pulled pork, Carolina slaw, fried oysters, and local apples. The establishment prides itself on using locally sourced meat and fresh produce to create their dishes.
True Southern hospitality they weren’t even open yet and they said sit down. I’ll give you a cup of coffee. Incredible waitress, very caring made strong recommendations of what they were good at and have you ever had a crabcake that’s a size of a pancake that’s what I had on my eggs Benedict this morning. They made their own bread that’s so tasty and it was so much food. We couldn’t even finish it so we had to take our yummy potatoes home. We look forward to trying our cinnamon roll. It is a big location, but it was filling up quickly this on a Saturday morning.

Myself & two friends were traveling to Boston & decided to try Bonnie Blue for lunch. A converted old gas station & it's located close to Old Town in Winchester. We had the Crab Cake, Cheeseburger & Fried Chicken Thighs(huge portion). Everything was delicious and prepared perfectly. Our wonderful server was Chelsea. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetie. For a good meal, I recommend you give them a try.....

Funky quirky BBQ place that used to be an old Esso gas station. Parking is on the street. When walking by, you can see & smell the smoker. We walked in & there is very little seating so we sat at a counter looking outside. We enjoyed the chicken salad, collard greens, potato salad, mac & cheese, & burnt ends app. All were excellent. The burnt ends sauce was Asian-like & a little too sweet for me. The owner was gracious & very nice to us. I also enjoyed some local Chardonnay. Definitely a place to check out!

Really wanted breakfast food but arrived around 1pm on a Thursday and breakfast is done before served by 11:30am. They do all day breakfast on weekends. We went into the entrance by the parking lot which (at a quick glance) was kind of like a grungy cafe style. They directed us around to the other side through the deck. There were a couple of tables being used outside and just 2 being used inside- pretty slow which was great for us. We ordered the catfish, Mac n cheese, fried oysters.. my family got the brisket and collard greens which is prepared with pork meat. We enjoyed it all. It even comes with a bread of your choice like a biscuit or cornbread for example. The servers were all kind to us and welcoming. The food was nice and hot and tasted freshly prepared. For the 3 of us, the bill came to $68 with beverages and that extra side of 5 pieces of oysters. We gave a $20 tip. Good experience overall. Would definitely go back. Oh the “come back” sauce is yummy!

Stopped by Bonnie Blue BBQ in Winchester today. I ordered half a rack of ribs with sides of cole slaw and fries. Before I finished my second bite of ribs - I looked up to the server and asked for another order – - to go! The ribs had a perfect wet saucy smokey layer and candied caramelization that stuck all around the meat and bone that was lip-smacking good! The meat was fork tender and of high quality, not fatty. The sides were also very tasty and fresh. My guest ordered shrimp n grits, but after she tasted my ribs took the shrimp n grits to go and asked to help me eat the ribs! Their parking lot only seems to hold 4 cars so it took me an extra 10 minutes to find street parking. Unless there is another parking lot and I didn’t see it. 5 stars for the food. I visited at 12 noon so the servers were very busy with the tables outside (there's lots of outside seating) and I was sitting inside. The servers were helpful and friendly. I will definitely return.

Oh my goodness. Who knew the crispiest, bread-yness, and tasty fried chicken you could ever find is at a hole in the wall in Winchester VA. I’m having dreams of their chicken and waffles since I tried it. The perfectly golden chicken, on top of a sugar waffle and a seasoned grits/ish underneath with their hot syrup was sooo divine. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating, the food came out piping hot, our mimosas were off the chain and still bubbly. I was a very happy camper. 10/10 will def be back. Get here for their chicken and waffles! They will NOT disappoint, but what is disappointing is the new standard that is now held for chicken and waffles anywhere else.

Let me tell you about Bonnie Blue Southern Market & Bakery - it’s probably my favorite fried chicken spot in the world. Each dish I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. The staff are all lovely and incredibly attentive, and everything gets prepared quickly. I tried the spicy fried chicken sandwich for the first time due to the recommendation of one of the staff, and I think it might be my new favorite food. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, the staff is great. Also, the baked goods are to die for. Overall I’m totally addicted to this place and I think everyone should come here.

Wow! What a treat lunch was at Bonnie Blue. Eight of us met in Winchester for lunch and it was outstanding. Even though the average drive was 2.5 hours for us, we will be back! Hits today were the burnt ends, pulled pork, peppered brisket and fried oysters. Yummy food and a great crew!

American restaurant
Village Square Restaurant offers a rustic and intimate dining experience in a historic building, serving New American cuisine with a full bar. The restaurant is known for its Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with caramelized bananas, as well as its rotating seasonal menu featuring fresh and creative dishes. Guests have praised the spot-on Chardonnay, butternut squash and apple soup, Seared Scallops, homemade biscuits, chophouse salad, and perfectly fried cod goujons.
Rockefeller oysters were good, the raw oysters were just ok. The chef special salad was good, maybe too much salad dressing. The Maryland crabcakes were excellent, filled with lots of crabmeat. Very close to the best we’ve had in Maryland. The coleslaw was bland, need some sauce. The shoestring fries were excellent. The shrimps & grits was very different in a good way, just wish more grits. Plenty of shrimps & the collard greens was a nice addition. Service was great. Indoor ambiance was nice. Outdoor seating looks inviting. Overall a solid 4.5 rating. They had couple specials on the menu like a ribeye steak and rack of lamb. Great location to a pay parking garage & in the middle of Old Town Winchester.

One of the best all around meals I have had in a restaurant, ever! My mom and I came here last night, looking for a meal that matched with the cool fall weather. This did not disappoint! We started with the butternut squash caprese. This was so delicious and so unique! I have never had anything like it. Definitely something I would go back for over and over. For our mains I got the black Angus cottage pie, and my mom got the black Angus rib eye. Both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were outstanding in everything but the potato aspect of both dishes were a favorite for us both. The cottage pie aged cheddar whipped potatoes were perfect and my mom is still raving about the twice baked potato that cane with her ribeye. For dessert we got the vanilla bean creme brule which was even better than the one I make and I am known for my homemade creme brule. We had a local peach cider with our meal that really complimented everything as well. The service was excellent and friendly. The atmosphere cute and cozy. The cost of the whole meal was extremely reasonable for the excellent quality. For 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 3 ciders it was under $150 total. I would have gladly spent double that for that meal.

Horrible food, the kids burgers were cook right but no seasoning, no spice just beef and cheese. The crab quesadilla tasted like plastic mozzarella and the peppers and onion overpower the crab flavor, it just does not go well together . And the Chiken sándwich has hard felt like old and rubbery. On the menu say that the Chiken sandwitch comes in a British bun and came on a Kaiser roll. Feels like the kitchen is run by a cook with bad taste. Pleas hire a real chef. The waitress was nice enough to take the Chiken sandwitch and another dish of the bill. I don’t mind paying for it. I hope the owners make some changes.

We took a day trip to Winchester. We googled places for lunch. Several were suggested, and Village Square Restaurant sounded the best to us. The restaurant exceeded our expectation. Delicious soup, sandwiches, and salad at a reasonable price in a charming place. We will make that a go to when in Winchester again.

Cute restaurant with really kind staff. Everything was really great. I had the salmon burger special, and the only downside was the kimchi was too salty (and I love salt). **updating after visiting again for dinner today. Changed the food from 4 stars to 3 stars. Unfortunately, the food at dinner was a miss across the board. The risotto and scallops were overcooked and under seasoned, and the cheesecake was horrible. Fortunately, we had an amazing server!

Quaint, warm environment - great for a large gathering. The drinks are phenomenal! Stunningly beautiful and deliciously smooth. Worth every penny!!

Service was slow. We were seated and then waited for 30 minutes for drink order to be taken. Not even water. They place was not busy maybe 1/2 full. Lots of staff. One staffer would walk up and down and take empty plates away every minute or so. After we were finally able to order, and the food came out the waiter dropped it off and walked away. We had to waive down the other waiter that was taking empty plates to get utensils so we could eat. Serving sizes were very small and way overpriced. I would not recommend to anyone.

We stopped here for lunch on a Friday afternoon at the end of February while traveling. I have been here once or twice before while in town for concerts. In this occasion we sat at the bar. There weren’t too many other customers so it was pretty quiet. Other times when I have been here in the evening it has been busy. We ordered the Reuben and a salad with chicken. Both were good. I wasn’t sure if I could add chicken to the salad since it wasn’t listed on the menu. If I’d have known it was $10 just for the chicken on a $12 salad I probably would have ordered something else. I’m used to seeing $10 for shrimp but not chicken. It was fine tho, just noting here so others are aware. The apples on that salad were pretty tasty and I liked the dressing. The bartender was friendly and attentive. They have a good selection of liquors and beers. Not sure if there are nearby parking lots or not but we parked on the street and walked over no problem. Winchester uses ParkMobile which is easy so that’s nice and I think it was $1.25 for an hour and a half. Like I said earlier, I’ve been here a couple times. I’ll probably go back again.

Good food, cold beer and a great atmosphere. Justin worked a great bar. Cool building in the Old Winchester walking mall.

Ordered the smash burger with bacon. My wife had the shepherds pie. Both were delicious. And very well prepared. Juicy burger, fresh toppings, GREAT pub style fries. And very good onion rings. Would definitely recommend!

Fish and chips - a good deal for $22. The fish was pretty much hanging off the plate and there was a nice amount of chips. However, it was quite bland. Gave it a couple splashes of vinegar and some salt and all was well again.

It was a tale of two meals. The tuna tacos were delicious and very well prepared. The salmon burger on its own had trouble staying together - although it was tasty - but the kimchi that came on the sandwich was probably the saltiest thing I've ever been served which impacted everything it touched. The lunch service also took an exceptionally long time - which was not just our experience. At least it was a beautiful day to enjoy the patio.

Food was delicious, highly recommend the Steak & Ale Stew, Shrimp & Grits & Bangers & Mash. Good variety of beers & hard ciders as well. We were there on a trivia night & once trivia started it was a bit too loud so we left. But would definitely go back if we visit the area again.

Outstanding service and good food. Great place to go with friends. The shepherd's pie must be magic. The server set it down and moments later it disappeared! Thanks for taking care of the tired MINI drivers on the Fall Colors Run.

Love the atmosphere and indoor lighting. Excellent customer service. Great to try out another local place, setting is more set up for adult drinking and date nights. Music that they play has my approval. They are very nice and friendly and I suggest don't even get any menus just ask your server and decide that way :)

Service was excellent. Our waiter was waiting tables inside and ours outside, and for as many tables that he had, food was hot, accurate and drinks were never empty. Also he kept an awesome attitude the whole time never having an issue with us asking for anything. Top notch service. Also steaks were cooked to perfection which is why we chose to dine there. Out door heaters were not acting right 😂 but the overall experience was great.

I cant quite make it of this place. I like the local, organic, no hormones, but the flavors dont play right what so ever. I wish I would have read the reviews before going on a Saturday evening with my family. I've spent good money (less than the $210 I spent tonight on five people) and had better quality service and taste. The appetizers we ordered were good. We ordered shrimp and wings. Wing sauce was amazing. Great choice of flavors in the garlic buffalo. I got the Korean BBQ brisket and ribs; the smoke flavor did not blend well at all. The BBQ had a great flavor, but not on the smoked brisket or ribs. The steak was good, but not for $48.00 ever. I get its local and hormone free, but I've had farm to table that is a lot better. Hey, I would have bought the kitchen a round of beers, but I didn't get that spark I was looking for. Will try again and hopefully have a more seasoned waiter.

What a great find! This was one of the best lunches I’ve eaten in this entire region. Sandy, the owner, and also my waitress, couldn’t have been nicer and told me all about their partnerships with local farms (pictured). I had the Green Apple Cashel Blue Cheese Burger (see picture) with the hand-cut fries. I subbed a house salad (pictured) instead of a side and had the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious, you could truly taste the care they put into every aspect of the food. I will certainly be stopping back in next time I’m in town and I highly suggest that you do too!

First visit here. Had the Andouille sausage & Kale soup and crab cake sandwich for lunch. One word: fantastic! The soup had just the right amount of spice and generous amount of Kale. The crab cake was crispy and didn't have a lot of filling. Cooked perfect. Our server was great. They also make their own hot sauces that you can buy. Will definitely be back.

Where to begin.... The food here was amazing! The steaks are on a level that rivals any of the finest steakhouse I've been to. They were cooked to absolute perfection! Tender as could be. The most minimal of pressure required upon the knife to carve it up! So tender it just melted in your mouth! I mean, phenomenal! I would have posted pictures of it but everyone ate there's so fast that no pictures were to be had. It's one of the few times my gregarious family was mum. I did manage to get pictures of my dessert, Col. E.H. Taylor straight rye, (which I also had with dinner), which is a phenomenal rye. Their selection of bourbon/whiskey was excellent, as was their wine selection. The other picture was of their lava cake dessert. For one, you can never go wrong with lava cake and two, even though they've become a bit ubiquitous at many restaurants, these were, again, next level like everything else here. If I lived in the area, this would be my go to restaurant if I was looking for a top notch meal or looking to impress someone with my knowledge of the local cuisine! Highly recommend eating here!

I really feel the difference eating an unprocessed meal. Though I can't do it often...it's such a treat when I'm able. There's pleasure in supporting small & local businesses. Everything from their homemade ice cream to their local fresh cut beef is served with a smile.

Tl:dr – This place is for a fancy palate without having to cater the environment or prices to it.  I immensely enjoy smaller places in smaller cities like this as I feel the proprietor is able to do more compared to bigger city restaurants and I felt like they did it right, had soul and whoever is running the place is doing a great job. I’m in town for work and I’ve been trying to keep to a lean diet (Low carbs) and was trying to find something just right.  I stumbled upon The Butcher Station on one of the rating apps and was amused. At first, I had lunch there. In first thought, seeing the reviews and pulling into the shopping center – I had a feeling it was going to be a little done up and a little fancy.  I walked in and it was totally not like how I expected but there was nothing wrong with that. For lunch, I was able to keep it keto – I had a burger and subbed the buns out and had it on a salad and was satisfied with it.  No complaints, good ground beef patty and it was good.  The service was good, not in your face trying or not absent either – just there and honestly, I think that is the best way for it to be.  On top of things, I had a coffee with lunch and didn’t expect much either but it was brought along in a smaller French press serving and was a good coffee too!  They didn’t sell me, I’m not the type to jump up but I felt satiation. It was enough to curiously bring me to dinner as my coworker had decided to do the taco place (Which from appearance, looked good) but as I said above, I’m on a strict diet.  Again, it isn’t much to walk into but I was sat promptly – the menu was simple but I was able to enjoy dinner and I felt The Butcher Station out on this.  I ordered the half dozen oysters, two different types – they were just spot on and you could easily tell they were quality sourced.  I had the Denver steak that was one of the specials. The seasoning was just right on, I went with the recommended medium rare and while I’m more of a filet fan – I enjoyed it.  Everything was cooked just right with the temperature staying put just about until I finished.  The sides were enjoyable although I wish I could have tried some of ones that were more carb friendly as the mashed potatoes looked delicious and like they put some soul into them.

We had a great experience at Cork Street Tavern. Beautiful interior and exterior. Food was fresh and warm. They even accommodated our little one’s needs. The server was professional and took care of us. The French fries were super yummy Fish and chips was small but delicious. Overall we were satisfied with our experience

Had dinner at the Cork Street Tavern last week. It was a nice night, so we opted to have dinner on the patio. The selection of beers was excellent with plenty of choices for everyone. Our server was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The food was very tasty and flavorful. I had the fish & chips and my wife the prime burger. We also split a mac & cheese side, which was very good. My only criticism would be that since it was dinner, I would have liked for the fish & chips to come with 2 pieces of fish rather than one. Other than that, it was a great dining experience, and we will definitely repeat.

If the multiple entrances don’t confuse you, you are in for a nice lunch. There are about 4 different doors. The server was nice and attentive with refills. The mozzarella sticks were my fave of the meal. The cooks forgot to add avocado and peppers to the salad and ran them out a few mins later. Rest of the meals were ok.

Awesome service, amazing food, and great tavern vibes. We are traveling and wanted to find something unique to Winchester and were very happy with this local spot that is locally owned. Two entrances with two different seating options, we went for dinner but they have a large beer selection, and the east entrance has a pool table. The crab cakes were amazing!

Cork Street Tavern is right in front of the Children’s Museum; the perfect place to stop for a meal, even with a child! We ordered the fish and chips, and it was absolutely delicious, fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. We chose the lunch menu, but honestly, we should have listened to our waiter and gone for the dinner menu, which comes with two pieces of fish. The lunch one is a bit smaller and comes with lots of fries, but that’s exactly what the waitress explained before we ordered, so no complaints there! The staff were so kind and welcoming; the waiter even put on a cartoon for our son, which made the whole experience even better. It’s such a family-friendly place with great food and lovely service. Highly recommend!

Quaint place. Small inside but not too bad. Service was good. Food was okay. Had the fish and chips. The fish was good but small and the chips were average. Slaw was very small portion and a bit dry. Dessert was good as I had the peanut butter pie. Overall a little disappointed in the portions for the dinner price. Definitely not a Buffalo fish fry as to what I am use to. Will be back to try something else though.

We had an early dinner And after a trip to Ireland and finding a drink of gin, elderflower, and tonic it was top on my list. I ordered the shepherds pie. Mind I make it at home so when offered I don’t always order it because I like to add some herbs and even whiskey to the meat when cooking. So glad I ordered it here. Full of flavor and a generous portion for early dinner.

Nice place to stop in for dinner or just a beer. I happened on it by accident, and was glad I stopped. Moderate prices, food was good and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
