So glad we stopped in. This children’s museum was so much fun. My children played for 2 1/2 straight and would have stayed longer! They have such a wide variety of play options appealing to all ages. The water feature was especially well done. Professional, friendly, clean, and fun! We will definitely be returning and highly recommend checking it out!

What a great place to go to spend the day or a few hours. The Virginia Farm Market exhibit was great to see with the cow and horse. I did like the Bee hive as well.

Such a fun, interactive place for kids of all ages! My 11 year old and teen had fun playing around with our toddler. There are 4 levels of educational, hands-on fun. We plan to come back soon!

The older lady at the counter is the best. She talked with our grandson about his first visit. Even though he could have cared less. She took the time. Thanks for a great visit. He loved the water table.

This is an amazing place for children, there are plenty of things for them to discover and play with. There are 4 floors of activities and plenty to do including an outdoor play area on the roof! Rest rooms on every floor, an elevator too. Parking is right next door or on the street and access is easy. You won't be disappointed by going here.

Very fun place to take the kids with more than enough to keep them occupied for at least 2 hours. There are 4 floors, with one being the roof with musical instruments. On a nice day, the rooftop is a great place to be. To get from floor to floor, you can take an elevator or take steps and let them burn more energy. The type things for my kids was the be hive they had through the window, the slide, and the musical instrument's. All in all, for the price that you are paying, you are getting a great hands-on way for your kids to spend their time.

I would go again, a great opportunity to stand where George Washington stood, to touch what he touched, to have a wonderful tour guide, thoroughly explain with such ease and understandable delivery of the pieces of history was a delight, I would go again and bring more guests if the opportunity ever arose.

The information Cathy shared about the history of the office and Washington was interesting. We enjoyed listening to her and I can tell she's very passionate about sharing history. It amazes me how small the place was and how many people lived there after it was sold to a family. It was worth going and seeing how people worked and lived. The picture that I shared only the middle part is what George Washington worked in. Later it was extended on both side.

It’s very interesting to learn about a young George Washington. As a teenager he became a surveyor in western Virginia. He was active in politics in Winchester. This small museum has many rare artifacts of Washington’s life here. Worth a stop for everyone. We visited this museum in the early 1990’s and glad we came back. Worth reinforcing our memory of the first US President that risked his life for us all.

Stopped by for some American history. What a wonderful experience. Loved the way were told the story of George Washingtons life. I highly recommend stopping by.

This is an amazing little museum. Definitely worth the stop. Cathy our tour guide was amazing. She gave us a very personal tour and I learned a lot about George Washington and his life. This place is so under rated. If you are ever in Winchester you need to stop by here. Admission is also under 10$ which makes it a great value as well! I loved it.

Unfortunately the museum was closed when we visited so could only see it from the outside, but no denying the historical significance of this place.

Wonderful museum rich in local history of the Shenandoah Valley. There are seasonal and annual art exhibits along with manicured gardens to explore. The 90 acres boasts more than 3 miles of walking trails and wildlife to explore. Prices are very reasonable at $25 per adult, $17 for seniors and $12 for students. Children under 12 are free. There are incredible artifacts from the early periods of the 1800s and history from earlier periods. There is a nice gift shop and bathrooms and the staff was wonderful and helpful. Great place to spend at least an hour or two inside and up to 3-4 hours walking the grounds. Highly recommend.

I’ve lived in Northern VA for decades, but was unaware of the museum until a friend recently recommended it. The museum is excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and Glen Burnie house was very cool. We will definitely be recommending it as a fun day trip from the DC area!

A++ what a gem. Definitely recommending to everyone because there is so much art/history inside, in addition to serene/well-marked ADA trails outside. Beautiful sculptures and birds around (couple deer too). I may have gotten lucky: on a lightly-drizzle rain Saturday it wasn’t very busy and patrons were super respectful/quiet. Absolutely love this place. Every time we've went they have had different spotlight on the arts. Last time was metal dinosaurs sculptures. Just amazing! Well worth the money. Buy online for a few dollars discount. Great on cooler days.

Small but very well curated museum with exhibits in history, flora, fauna, as well as temporary exhibits. They had Frida Calho when we visited. The gardens are also very well kept, and they had art installations. The top of the hill has a view. The pretty cows were a plus. But don't feed them!

A group of is went yesterday to see the Scraposaurs in the garden. Very cool! I believe it was $10 entry fee for seniors. This is a limited time sculpture exhibit of scrap metal dinosaurs. The artist, Dale Lewis, has an amazing ability to pick metal pieces and then turn them into almost life sized dinosaurs. This museum has some sort of sculpture exhibit every year. Last year it was giant glass flowers and plants. And… the gardens are beautiful as well. It can be a little challenging to walk if you are using a walker, but not too bad. I believe there are 13 sculptures; I just took a few pictures.

This museum is AWESOME! If you have a chance to visit don't miss it. The historic house and gardens are also fantastic in addition to the museum proper. Plan to spend the day. Also check their website for special events and free days if you are on a budget. I just attended a concert in the drawing room this past weekend and can say that if you love live chamber music preformed by top rate musicians don't miss the chance to attend one of the next concerts offered this season on the MSV events website. A truly sublime experience!

Fantastic museum tour of the cottages items and architecture!! Though small in size, its PACKED with such incredible artifacts related to Jackson and rare flags! Our tour guide was very informative and friendly and is an absolute must if youre visiting Winchester! Photos are allowed but no touching

Great experience, beautifully preserved home and tour guide was very knowledgeable and interacted well with our group. Tour was a bit longer than expected, but lits of great information! Tour is maybe not idea for children under 10yrs as they may become bored & are unable to touch things. Home & grounds are not stroller or handicap accessible. Off street parking was convenient, we stopped on a Thursday.

Our tour guide was WONDERFUL! She was so informative and took a lot of time with us. She provided a wealth of information and made the tour very interesting! This hidden gem is worth the trip! I didn’t catch her name, but she was the red haired lady. She was also very kind and considerate to my sister who was visually impaired.

I have never rated a tour before even though I've been on many all over the world. This little quaint unsuspecting museum house that I thought was going to be a novelty site had the most passionate, genuine, knowledgeable tour guide I've ever had. Toby deserves all the credit in the world. I went expecting to learn a little about the house and see some artifacts, I left with a beautiful picture of the town, it's people, the war, politics etc. Fantastic tour guide. 👏

The tour guide, Reba, was extremely entertaining and very knowledgeable about the house which made the experience memorable! The preservation of the objects are very well maintained, especially the historical significance of the flags showcased in the museum. I would highly recommend going to this museum!! Everyone who works here is super friendly and loves history, which is shown through their work on the museum. 10/10!

Amazing historical place to visit. Just outside of the main historical area in Winchester, the unassuming house hold large amounts of history. The tour last about 45 minutes and worth every penny. Tour guide it friendly, entertaining and quite knowledgeable. There was so much to learn about this place and its role in the war. Make this a stop if you can.

Had the meatloaf special with macaroni salad, and bread pudding. What a delicious meal! The meatloaf had red sauce and gravy and the bread pudding was exceptional. My waitress Esther was efficient and friendly.

I stopped by Peppernill in Winchester for breakfast, and it was a great start to the day. The food came out fresh and hot. The toast were perfectt, the pancakes were fluffy, and the coffee was strong and smooth. The place was clean, and our server Kristen was friendly and attentive. The portions were generous for the price, and the service was quick. A solid spot for anyone looking for a good, hearty breakfast in town.

This was, by far, the worst experience we’ve ever had in Winchester. We came here based on outstanding reviews and recommendations about the food, but unfortunately, that was not our experience today. The sausage we received was burnt and inedible, while the house potatoes were poorly seasoned and overly soggy. To make matters worse, our server was unprofessional—she didn’t even introduce herself and exhibited a negative attitude throughout our visit.

Really solid breakfast options and the turkey sausage is excellent. Everything was cooked promptly and exactly to order. Our waitress was on the coffee situation and kept us topped off. We shall return!

This place reminds me of a similar breakfast place in the Outer Banks called Stack Em High. Highly recommend. Food was fresh and service was great. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. First time visit so I have not had a chance to sample the entire menu but pancakes are VERY large and serving are generous. Good vibes and cozy place to eat. Southern charm and definitely a hidden gem in Winchester. Prices were great too!

First time visiting! Love the country look. The food is absolutely delicious! The waitresses are so nice! We found our new favorite spot! (And they have Pepsi!)

The breakfast we had was delicious. Good size portions at a good price. Also, the service was outstanding. Everyone was super friendly and made sure everything was perfect. We couldn't get through half a drink without a quick refill. Thanks!

I had a drs appointment and this gem was a mile away. What can one say? It's Patsy's old home! Originally a log cabin and upgraded by her mother throughout the years. Beautiful pine floors and I love how they have her original items throughout the home. The tour is 30 minutes and the fee for that is $8 dollars. It's in a community and off street parking is limited since it's a populated neighborhood. There is no video to be allowed but you may take pictures. No restroom available but it does have a small gift shop. The tour gives a walk through time and space experience. It's like you think, I'm in Patsy's old home. Her mother had turned the home into a rental for some time but then it became a visitor attraction. Highly recommend! You can't help but sing along as her music is played shortly during the tour. Steep stairs so hang on. No where to sit so wear comfortable shoes.

Thirty minute tour worth the money very interesting history

Rang the doorbell to Patsy's house and got a guided tour from Laurel, who was so incredibly personable that it felt like we were friends just moments after meeting. Laurel was very knowledgeable about Patsy's life and career, easily answering all of our questions. Next door to the house is a walkway and overlook with a Patsy cutout ready for a photo. Anyone crazy about Patsy Cline should go walkin' up to this place, but not after midnight because they're only open from 10-4pm.

I happened to find out about an event here through Facebook and detoured through Winchester to check it out. The house is tiny but it was a wonderful experience. The volunteers were so pleasant and knowledgeable. I got to chat with a few Patsy fans and they really were great people. There is no parking lot, the house is literally in a neighborhood so street parking but there was plenty and it’s walkable if you are in town. Definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area. I hear they do a big event in September and block off a couple streets - it sounded fun!

Loved the tour and the stories that were told

I loved the tour...the ladies were very knowledgeable. It was very cool to see pictures of her and her family and hear stories of her childhood. The tour guide even met Pasty when she was 16 working at a soda shop. We even went to the grave site after. I really enjoyed it!

The children’s programs and staff here are fantastic! The staff are engaging and resourceful, always enacting ways and programs to make the library more family inclusive. The story times are educational and fun. They have great toys to play with and bags you can check out to take the reading and play home with you.

Stopped in town on the way back home to Ohio to just walk the streets of this quaint town. Came across this Library and was immediately intrigued by it's architecture and had to go in and see what the inside looked like. Was happily surprised we could do a self-guided walking tour and view the amazing stained glass dome and spiral staircases! What neat architecture and history!!!

This incredible historic library was completed in 1913 in the Architectural style of Beaux Arts, which was built as a library and has functioned as such ever since. It offers 4 floors filled with books and history and holds various workshops, readings, kids festivals and activities, and even offers tours of the historic library and its rich history. With weekly and monthly events, there is always something to do in this truly unique and historic library. Come for the architecture and history and stay for great reading material along with online resources and even a workshop on family lineage and history. This is a must stop visit if you are in Historic Winchester Virginia! Ps. - This place offers amazing workshops and story times/activities for children of all ages!

They always have fun stuff to build in the youth section. Very easy to pick holds and then just pick them. Large pink books available too

One of the best examples of Beaux-Arts architecture in Virginia is in Winchester at Handley Regional Library. Built in 1913 thanks to the funds of a coal magnate's fortune, the library's green dome can be seen throughout the town. For its first 40 years, the library was segregated, but now all are welcome every day of the week except for Sunday when they close. Park along the street nearby and walk through old wooden doors into the lobby where you can climb spiraling staircases to the second and third floors and gaze up into the majestic dome. They have all the usual sections, including a generous magazine section. They also have study rooms and desk with outlets to recharge or browse a computer. The staff are very helpful and friendly. While visiting for 30 minutes, I noticed many men experiencing homelessness keeping warm in the library. Multiple staff members seemed to know each by name and treated them with dignity.

I came in just to get a library card today and was stunned at the beautiful architecture of this building. I ended up extending my parking meter just so I could tour the building (free informative papers at the front will guide you through the building with detailed credits to each painting and donation, and they also offer free guided tours every second Saturday of the month!) Little details to be found in every nook and cranny, and the staff was so friendly and helpful as I walked through each area. Somebody takes excellent care of the live plants in this building as well. It's winter now, but outside the garden area looks like it will be beautiful in the spring. I encourage everyone to spend just an hour of your time appreciating the beauty of this place (and maybe check out a book or two), a free service open to the public.

2 sundaes for $17. ? A steep price for literally 3 scoops total. Maybe they need to rethink portion sizes..ice cream flavor was meh. We were hoping for rich & creamy. Location was nice though. I added a star for nice faith-filled family-oriented wall decor.

This place is darling! You walk in and it has a bakery case with fresh baked cookies, and an ice cream case with lots to choose from in flavors. There is a case with chocolate and truffles. Plus you can have lunch from a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. There is no soda fountain, which I was expecting from the look, you can only get bottled drinks from the refrigerator. They do have some gifts you can purchase. Also there is a seating area for dining. The place was clean unless you looked up and seen the ceiling fan. It was caked in black dust. The food was bland, no flavor, barely even salt and pepper to season. The lettuce on my chicken salad sandwich looked like it was fresher several days ago and I was hoping for something more with the potato soup. I thought it was a little pricey for half a sandwich, small bowl of soup and a bottled soda, which was over $13. If the quality was there it might have been worth the money. This place could become something awesome with a little bit of pizazz in the recipes and quality ingredients. The staff was great and helpful.

My milk shake was more milk than shake. Reading through reviews it appears there are many milkshake debacles similar to mine. I understand the concept of homemade and being local. But at a $9.49 price point I would not recommend.

We had the most amazing milkshakes here! My husband, son, and I all got different flavors and tried each others and each one was beyond delicious! It was a little pricey but honestly, the serving size is pretty big and they’re really thick too. Totally worth the price. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

I had delicious mocha toffee ice cream. I was surprised by the amount of seating and the large food menu. The truffles looked amazing in their dedicated case and there were so many to choose from. It smelled like cookies in there. I can't wait to try more things!

Delicious HOMEMADE ice cream! What a treat to find cinnamon flavored ice cream too - very popular in Germany. The staff were very friendly and professional and the store was well appointed and very clean. You could feel the love here. We will be back when in town!

No tasting allowed! I couldn’t decide on the ice cream flavor so I asked for a sample. The lady rudely snapped at me and informed me samples are not allowed. What?! I told the lady I was deciding between two flavors not that that matters. I found myself justifying why I the customer who was going to spend my money wanted to be happy with my choice of ice cream. She acted as if a tiny sample would put them out of business. So I left. Ridiculous business practice doesn’t rely on repeated customers. Maybe deep down they know they suck.

Great park for kids, pickle ball, covered free tables for picnics and two playground areas for kids. Highly recommend recommend

Nice park. Not so crowded even on summer Saturday. Lot of walking trails and cute dogs. Lot of sports to play!

Indoor and outdoor pool is nice. Outdoor pool could use a few more tables with umbrellas or just shade in general. The park and shelters are nice and the walking trails are fun for all ages. The whole place is kept nice and clean you don't have to worry about stepping in dog poop or over flowing trash cans

My grandkids get so excited to come to this park playground. It is clean but sometimes the bathroom's are locked.

I’ve been to the trail and dog park. The trail is paved so it’s ADA compliant. The grounds are well maintained. There’s a lot to be discovered there. Among their many sports venues they have a pickleball court! Will definitely go there again.

So twice the park people have been shutting the gates and almost locked me and other people in the park before they close. Today at 8pm they were locking the gates when online it says 930 close. Also in the middle by the baseball fields there's been condoms just laying around for over a week and no one has cleaned them up. Not in the middle of the field it was right by the pavilions ... I also saw a dude on a lawn mower mow around an empty chip bag, mow half the field and then just leave because of a stick in his way. Why can't they clean up their trash. They get paid right? Other than that actual patrons have been friendly but apparently the workers don't get paid enough to do their jobs...

We stopped by while on our NJ Revolutionary adventures. It was a quick stop. It is the site of George Washington’s regimental headquarters during the French and Indian War. One can take a self guided tour, or from the foundation during May to October.

Beautiful architecture for yet another Virginia historic site. Thankfully, they're well preserved and hopefully always will be.

There really isn't much to see here. The signs are interesting and they tell a little about it. They speak of Washington digging a well but don't really say where it is. I didn't arrange for a tour but that might help.

Visit to see George Washington’s fort to defend the first frontier of America. Great guide named David. Have to make arrangements for a private tour but can follow along with cell phone tour. Little museum with artifacts, books and maps open by appointment. The original hand dug well remains which is the focal point of visible history with an outline of the fort walls.

Great historic site to visit if you're in town

Aside from the historical markers and the paint on the street and sidewalks showing portions of some of the forts outline there isn't much to see. However once you look closer at the terrain and engage your imagination you can clearly understand why the fort was placed in this commanding location. Well worth a quick stop to view this location.

There is not much to see here. There is a plaque that gives you information and lines that show where the fort extended out too, but now this is someone's house. They were understand and helpful but there isn't much to see.

I never leave reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to make me write my first one. I’ve always enjoyed visiting Northside Lanes, but my most recent trip was disappointing due to poor customer service. I understand that we arrived close to closing time (40 minutes before closing), but that shouldn’t be an excuse for rudeness—especially after paying over $40 for our visit. First, we tried to order from the snack bar around 9:26 PM, not realizing it closes at 9 PM instead of 10 PM. Instead of politely informing us, the female employee responded with unnecessary attitude, waving her hand dismissively and saying, “Nahhh, we’re closed.” Then, when our game automatically ended at 10 PM—before we finished our last frames—we noticed another group still playing. After paying $40+, we were confused as to why we couldn’t finish our frames while others could. When I asked why, I was told, “You have to request an extension anytime throughout the day if you want to finish your frames.” This was confusing because, in all my visits—both day and night—I’ve never had to “request an extension” to finish my frames (rows). When I asked for clarification—meaning if I have to ask for an extension when it comes close to closing—the employee kept contradicting herself, first saying “No, anytime throughout the day,” then insisting that you don’t have to request it at all, only when it’s close to closing time. I completely understand that employees want to go home on time, but customer service still matters. A little courtesy goes a long way, especially when customers are paying good money to be there. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I hope management addresses both the inconsistencies in their policies and the attitude of some staff members. Our family night didn’t end as fun as we had hoped.

Neat experience in northern Winchester. The kids love cosmic bowling (which is only a few dollars more than regular bowling.) Up to date facility with a snack bar, vending machines, arcade games. Friendly staff helped us rent shoes and bowling balls.

Horrible management. DONT GO HERE. Spend your time and money somewhere else. Had a party of 9 come to bowl and split payment between 5 and 4 of us and got 2 lanes. We were told which 2 lanes we would be at. WE WERE NEVER TOLD explicitly that our party of 5 would need to be on the first lane, and our party of 4 needed to be on the second lane, the order in which we paid. When we created our game in the opposite order, the system ended our game in the 6th frame. When we asked the manager, Jay, why that happened, we were told we created the games incorrectly, even though we were not told the 5 players had to be on the first lane and the 4 must be on the second. JAY would not let us finish our game out and would not refund any money or offer free game coupons to use in the future for our entire party of 9. We were told that we should ASSUME that we should’ve created the game in the opposite order. We’ve all been here multiple times and never had these issues along with the inability to refund or solve the problem. Absolutely Horrible customer service by the manager on duty, Jay. Nobody should waste their money at this place with the kinda management we experienced tonight.

Took my daughter's family and we had a blast. All new lanes & new score boards with all kinds of new ways to enjoy playing with the grandkids 🥰👍🎳❤️

We just had my daughters 9th birthday party here for cosmic bowling and it was amazing! Very fun environment, definitely kid friendly! The food was delicious and everyone had a blast!

If you're looking to bowl, Northside has got you covered. With cheap prices at $3/game and even cheaper with specials such as $1/game on Tuesdays, there isn't any reason to spend some time here having fun with others. With deals like these, it only makes sense that the place is popular. Stopping by in the middle of the week in the evening, the parking lot was packed, yet my group still secured our own lane without worry. Having visited other bowling alleys, Northside offers a pretty standard experience. However, I will attest that we encountered no problems, such as pins getting stuck or technical issues.

This place is honestly a blast! To say I got lost in time would be an understatement. Polka Dot Pot's selection of paintable items was vast compared to many similar places. So vast, in fact, it took me over 20 minutes just to decide on a piece to paint. They have pieces perfect for young children and pieces so detailed that you can easily get lost in the process for hours. I selected a 'simpler' item and ended up spending over 2 hours until closing, finishing up my piece(hence the uncompleted mushroom). The staff were friendly, not overbearing, and really just left us to our own devices. 10/10 would recommend and will be here again. Edit: Added my finished piece after glazing. My piece was not ready when I went to pick it up, as I was told. However, I understand that they have been very busy and delays are to be expected.

My kids love this place! And to be honest, I do too! So many fun crafts. They also have glass art. Super fun place!

My daughter is an artist in Seattle. Whenever she comes to visit we make a stop here. She did a beautiful fused glass design last visit. Today we had her 4 year old nephew making a birthday gift for his mom.

I went here with my friends and it was absolutely amazing. Everyone there was so nice and they had a wide range of different things you can paint. I think everything was very reasonably priced, it wasn't expensive at all. I'd definitely come back in the future!

Brought the kids here for Father's Day. It worked out really well. The variety of pottery to paint is huge. Some functional, some silly, all wonderful. The staff was that perfect balance of helpful when we needed it, and distant enough to let us enjoy a family moment. They also have a lot of non-ceramic art projects you can do, so I'm sure I'll be coming back here for wonderfully keepsakes. Took about a week for the glazed items to get fired, and be ready for pickup. Very conveniently located on the walking mall in old town Winchester. Great to grab lunch, and then go get artistic!

On a weekday or midday, the place was not crowded, had enough parking, etc. So many different shops and restaurants. Nice view. No wait. No tickets. No reservations.

My 3 yr.old grandson is afraid of the pool. This was a wonderful experience for him!

This little spot is so great. Absolutely awesome for kids of all ages. Plus it's right downtown in the walking mall just a minute walk from Cork Street Tavern, so there are food and drinks spots everywhere

I love this place and my grandchildren thoroughly enjoy coming here. There's no 5th star because of the potential predatory people, specifically, males loitering watching voyeuristically, young kids in water. I wish there was a way to keep them out of that area.

A super fun splash pad for your littles and bigger littles, too! There are benches for the parents to sit and watch, and a nice clean public restroom (pay with coins to unlock/ enter bathroom). A great place to visit after eating at Thai Winchester!

This splash pad is really nice. We usually go on weekday mornings when it's not incredibly busy. There's parking behind it on Indian Ave(?). Prepare to bring quarters for the bathroom. I'd recommend pool shoes/water shoes.

Very nice people and, although, this is a delivery office/operation for the Harrisburg based ice cream company, the people are a great face of the company and show how great Hershey ICC is at branding, marketing, product quality and customer service.

This place doesn’t exist or doesn’t have adequate lighting or signage. I looked for the place after the sun had gone down and decided I wasn’t getting mugged and left

Looks like this place is just for shipment now. There are trucks but no service.

This hidden battlefield gem is highly recommended. The volunteer staff is extremely helpful, and they can guide you on a tour or take you on a electric cart if you’re not able to walk. I chose to follow the trails myself. The Pritchard house is very interesting, and they have even been able to get some of the original furniture back in there from the descendants of the owners. Lots of big tables available, and I also enjoyed the artillery barn.

Beautiful historic park rich in Civil War history. Very important that we save these properties for future generations. Went to a great reenactment there this weekend and hope they do it again!

This is a gem of a place to visit for history buffs or people who just love the outdoors. Great area. Really awesome staff that are so friendly and willing to answer any question. The selection of books in the VC is outstanding for the history.

Wasn't expecting much, but WOW, what an experience. Visited recently with a group of Marine friends and was blown away by the history, exhibits, and serene setting of the battlefield and beyond. Steve, the resident guide and historian, was OUTSTANDING. I would highly recommend visiting....this is a hidden gem!

I highly recommend a tour from their guide, Mike. He is extremely knowledgeable about the battles and the area. He gives personalized tours based on your interests, including a ghost tour, the Battle of Kernstown, personal stories of those who lived the Battle and many others. Ask him any question and he'll know the answer! Make sure to ask him about the family's Music Book! It is on display and with all the notations within, absolutely reveals the Owner! He let us look at the display case of family momentos. (Which doesn't happen too often.)He is a personable guide, with patience and a great personality! I would go back anytime!

We visited Kernstown with our teens as a must-see recommendation of an NPS ranger at Cedar Creek, which I’d consider high praise! We had a great tour with Chuck who spent a lot of time giving us a great talk about the Kernstown battles as well as a tour of the Pritchard house. Great group of volunteers who know their stuff and readily share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Highly recommend!

Kernstown Battlefield is fantastic and made better by the excellent and knowledgeable staff. Check hours and events to make sure the location is open. Speak with the staff upon arrival to check for a house and golf cart tour. The staff also provided and excellent talk about the history of the location, battles that occured, and impact on the civil war. Facilities are well maintained with restrooms. Be respectful and if able, donate to support this historical location.
