Park
Sights & Landmarks
Gold Bug Park & Mine in Placerville, California is a must-visit attraction offering a unique experience for visitors. The park features an 1880s gold mine where you can embark on a self-guided audio tour or join a guided group tour to learn about the mining operations and geological activity that led to the discovery of gold. In addition to exploring the underground mine, visitors can browse the on-site museum, visit the Blacksmith Shop, and even try their hand at gem mining.
Wonderful short experience to see what hard rock mining was all about. The audio tour handhelds (which are easily held around the neck) were an amazing help in enjoying and learning about mining. Other tours of other mines would do well to use that resource. Great place to take students and the grandkids 😉.

We absolutely loved our trip to gold bug park, gem panning was super fun (though the water was absolutely freezing… keep in mind for children) but the mine tour was amazing! Pop gave us such a good and memorable tour, made me feel comfortable because I’m very claustrophobic but was able to do the tour! Prices are great! And there’s a lovely picnic area too.
Tatiana D — Google review
7-15-25 limited free parking lot with a rough estimate of 10 place, including, roofed pavilion , small clean gift shop with a small room size museum, to get a taste of gold rush era since 1880s. Mine entrance look cool with a mandatory 12 bucks ticket. Also there is a trail going up the hill which I was in hurry and couldn’t go.
Ori B — Google review
Brought our 4th grade daughters to experience the gold mine since it’s a part of the history taught about California. The mine was a super cool experience even tho it is a short mine (you will probably only Spend 10-15 minutes inside). You listen to a pre-recorded audio as you slowly walk through which gives good info. It is very cold inside and wet so keep that in mind. The girls really enjoyed it!! Adults must wear a helmet as the mines ceilings are very low and you will hit your head if you’re not paying attention. The people working there were very nice and taught us a lot. Also, we visited the stampmill & blacksmith up the hill from the mine. A man I stampmill explained the process for getting from rock to the gold. The blacksmith showed us a demonstration to make a spoon from horseshoe nail. Pretty cool piece of history and the folks working there are really knowledgeable and helpful.
Katie B — Google review
Staff were amazing and friendly, lots of jokes that were fun for all ages, had to wear a helmet if you were over 5 feet tall for safety reasons which was also appreciated! Great place for kids!
Jenna — Google review
A nice smaller historic park with a few short trails to hike, an old stamp mill, and a smaller mine you can explore for $10 for a self guided audio tour. The rest of the park is free except for the mine, which is really the main attraction. The mine is a cool feature to see, and is worth doing the audio tour, however I wish it wasn't $10 per person. A $5 fee for the self guided tour seems more reasonable, or even a $5 fee for anyone to tour the park seems fair. Worth a visit if in Placerville, and if you have children.
Brendan K — Google review
Amazing experience. My favorite part was going into the mine tunnel. It was chilled, dark, and dripping with water. IT WAS GREAT. Tour guides (Stamp Mill/Black Smith Shop) were excellent too! I definitely recommend visiting this location. The fee is $12 per adult, $10 for veterans.
Shaddoe — Google review
All the staff were very enthusiastic, love their job, and were really nice. Every staff member we talked to gave us tips on local travel. The mine and details were interesting, but the best part was the staff!!! So fun! The mine is nice and cool on a hot day!

Museum
History Museums
The El Dorado County Historical Museum, situated near downtown Placerville, offers a captivating journey through the region's past. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing the lifestyles of early Native American communities and gold rush settlers. The museum features an array of artifacts such as intricately crafted tools used by indigenous tribes, gold mining equipment, and items related to the area's transition from mining to agriculture. Additionally, there are guided tours available for a more immersive experience.
Really neat exhibits and the docent basically gave me a personal tour. Really cool. I learned some things I had never heard before and also connected the dots from related areas (like Virginia City!). I would go back (and bring friends who also enjoy history). Suggested donation $2/person.
Lindsey — Google review
Our docent was very knowledgeable, explaining the exhibits. We learned much more about the history of the area.
Marcia Z — Google review
We visited this museum while on a trip to Placerville two weeks ago. It’s a small museum but we enjoyed our visit very much. We received a tour from an extremely knowledgeable docent who explained to us the history of the area and its people. A great experience.
Charity W — Google review
We enjoyed a wonderful stop at this little museum on the way home from Apple Hill. A friendly and accommodating docent gave a great tour. Each exhibit was very well put together, informative, and entertaining. I appreciated the spotlights on Native American, Black, and female people in El Dorado's early days, and I really enjoyed the grocery store display. No tickets required - see how much you enjoy the museum and make an appropriate donation on your way out. The outdoor areas felt cluttered and neglected - it would be nice if there was another property where excess items could be stored until they can be properly displayed and appreciated.
Jill L — Google review
The tour is filled with history and facts of the history of Placerville. The ladies are very nice and informative. We enjoyed the step back in time and learning about the history of the town now known as Placerville.

The best experience ever. Love the miniature exhibits and displays of yesteryear memorabilia

Excellent museum. Many interesting displays of the history of the county. Excellent docent too. Well worth the visit.

This place was awesome. The curator was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of history behind the items they had in the museum. Highly recommend if you're curious about El Dorado county, or the Gold Rush.

A new tradition only started last year. Wonderful way to start your fall season! Make sure to get a donut and bring home an apple pie to enjoy... or maybe two! Nice vendors with cool stuff, so bring extra money!

Well don't go on a holiday weekend...it would be much better on a week day, I have and we enjoyed ourselves

I've been going to Apple Hill for 30+ years. There are bake shops, crafters, fresh fruits and vegetables, food, wineries and so much more. The atmosphere is refreshing, fun, happy, exciting and peaceful. The Fall/Winter time is the busiest time of the year. Some places are closed during the Spring and Summer, but the ones that are open offer lots of summer fruits and you'll always find great Apple pie and other fruit pies. Apple Hill is an amazing beautiful experience. You definitely will be taking a lot of pictures.

Like visiting family. This is a great place, just don't come on Saturdays, they are closed. They have THE BEST cream cheese apply pie YUM!!!
Jim — Google review
We visit on the first Sunday of September, always. There aren't as many apple varieties available at this time, but there are certainly enough to make the visit worthwhile. They also have pears and berries available. The Bakeshop is magical, offering so many unique treats (slice of Dutch sour cream apple-berry pie, anyone?). We've also visited in October and bought plenty of specialty frozen pies and served them for Thanksgiving. Whether you're visiting for fruit or baked goodies or beautiful scenery and a picnic, you won't regret a stop here.

One of my favorites in the apple hill area of growers. I always get a 3lb bag of honeycrisp apples and Bartlett pears. Delicious. They have a bakery/restaurant that serves excellent lunch combos and apple pie slices with tasty cinnamon sauce. Plenty of seating is available out of the sun. A wonderful day trip for the family

What a wonder time. Only made it to a few farms as there is so much to see and do. Will definitely be making this trip again. Also, thank you so much as we came on Nevada Day not knowing it is celebrated there, and was so welcomed as we are from Reno. ❤❤

Winery
Food & Drink
Wineries & Vineyards
Boeger Winery, established during the gold rush era, was revived by current owners Greg and Sue Boeger after Prohibition. Their passion for lesser-known grape varietals like Berbera and Aglianico has resulted in award-winning wines. The winery offers a serene setting with a tasting fee that's often waived with a bottle purchase. Visitors can savor their wine outdoors while taking in the peaceful surroundings and nearby pond.
Boeger Winery is an absolute gem in Placerville! Their white wines are crisp and refreshing, while the reds boast bold, full-bodied flavors that leave a lasting impression. The setting is just as impressive—beautifully landscaped with charming seating areas that make it easy to relax and soak in the stunning natural surroundings. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking for a picturesque spot to unwind, this winery delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!
Terry M — Google review
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon and taste wines. The grounds are so welcoming and comfortable. Lots of shaded space for a picnic lunch. $15 for the tasting. Generous service and hospitality. Nice visit.

What a fantastic winery!! We were able to do a wine tasting, tour of the grounds and had an amazing time. We will definitely be back!!
Rizz B — Google review
I haven’t been to the vineyards around Placerville for about 25 years- I just moved back from NYC - my Father wanted to show me around Boeger and it did not disappoint. The grounds are amazing - I truly did not understand why my father was so excited about a fig tree until I saw the 125 year old fig tree. Wade took care of my father and I for two wine tastings and it was an incredible experience (as well as the rest of the staff). They were very knowledgeable, understanding of high end hospitality and the experience people are expecting. I would let Wade or any staff member guide you but the Barbera is a must. We will definitely be back and look forward to events in the future!

Great winery with some good wines. Love how this winery is some where you can have a picnic, bring your own food but purchases bottles from the winery. On a gorgeous day sitting outdoors and watching bunch of different groups drinking wine play games, doing trivia was fun. Service is great, the whole team is spread out through the venue with happy to help attitude. Great vibe with great wine.
Reetu P — Google review
Really great winery. Went to Boeger after a hike with family right before Thanksgiving . The setting is gorgeous. We really enjoyed the wine. Our recommendation is that you pair a bottle or a few glasses with a charcuterie tray and make a picnic of it.
Seth M — Google review
Very pretty location. Friendly service. Many tables and various seating available outside to enjoy ambiance... Vineyard, small pond/creek. Tasting only available indoors, but also nice.
Allison K — Google review
I recently visited Boeger Winery as part of my holiday to Northern California, and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. I was feeling quite stressed out from my travels, but the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings at the winery really helped to calm my nerves. Even though I didn't sample any of the wines, I did enjoy a delicious hot chocolate that I brought from home. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and they gave us a fantastic tour of the winemaking facilities. The tasting room was cozy and inviting, and I appreciated the opportunity to relax and enjoy my hot chocolate in such a lovely setting. The winery also has a picturesque garden and patio area where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Event venue
Water & Amusement Parks
The El Dorado County Fair & Event Center is a fantastic location for various events. Families can rent the beautiful Corker Building for celebrations, weddings, and receptions. It offers a nice spot with a field where kids can freely run and play. The venue has well-maintained grounds with plenty of rental options available, including a skate park for children to enjoy.
There were no events today but it's open so you can walk around. It's a nice area to walk a dog. There is a lot of grass so she could run. And there are little areas where you can explore. It's a nice alternative to a park. There is ample seating and shady areas. We will be going back.
Rudy S — Google review
Not really sure how to rate a County Fair. It was crowded, expensive, and fairly filthy. That said, where else can you see mutton busting, watch your 2 year old granddaughter be infatuated with petting goats, stroll through rooms of handmade quilts, and eat some incredibly good ice cream. It's a good little County Fair. I knocked it down a bit because they seemingly don't even try to clean the tables. Hard to find a decent place to eat.

Malicious Monster Trucks!!! That was such a blast event! I brought my two kids and my husband, and the joy the light up their faces was pretty amazing! We lost most of our voices by the end from all the cheering, but we had a blast! Spitfire was our favorite and by far the best, and Skeletor had an awesome driver!! Oh and hell ya for T'd off was wicked cool and extremely loud! Every bit was worth the money!!

This morning my dog and I were here, as we are most day and we noticed a couple of guys. They were suspect looking. I watched them for a minute cause they were at my garden. I saw Tristian also watching. He called for someone else to come with him to check on these guys. He arrived within seconds. Also arriving quickly was a sheriff I think. We left. I knew my garden would be safe. I just want to Thank Tristian and Eric for their quick response. I never feel unsafe walking here. There are workers all the time and they keep a watchful eye. I also wanted to acknowledge the ladies that clean the restrooms. They are friendly and do an amazing job. I don't think I have ever seen the restrooms dirty. This is a wonderful place to have in this area to walk with or without a dog. Its very safe and very clean. Placerville does lack in parks so this is a gem. Thank you everyone
Marianne — Google review
It was okay. The parking is definitely limited and it's a weird location geographically speaking. This causes the layout to be rather confusing feeling and not so easily accesoble across the grounds. Not as good as the grounds in Roseville or Discovery Park, but it was still lots of fun! We will be back for the door next year. ☺️

Jun 12, 2025. Seniors and kids under 12 free. My husband and I had two 8 yr olds with us. Took the shuttle from Ray Lawyer at noon. Arrived at fair at 12:15. Lots of seniors in line of about 150+ and kids. They had 1 person searching every purse, fanny pack etc. We were probably around the 100th in line. It took an hour + to get to the search table. It was horrible...in the heat, no shade. There has to be another way to feed people thru your security line that is faster. It was a horrible experience and we could only stay for 2 hrs after that because we were exhausted. I needed to rant.

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Placerville, California, the Smith Flat House is a delightful dining destination that beautifully blends history with culinary excellence. This historic venue offers a unique atmosphere where guests can savor delicious meals while soaking in the rich heritage of the area. Known for its inviting ambiance and attentive service, it’s an ideal spot for brunch or a leisurely meal.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at my friend's favorite restaurant in Placerville, and I was thoroughly impressed. The menu offered a fantastic selection, but we couldn't resist the special: steak with lobster. It was a delightful combination that exceeded my expectations. We also tried the special gnocchi, which was rich and flavorful, and finished our meal with a crème brûlée that was simply divine. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a bottle of Tannat from a local winery, Shadow Ranch. This wine paired beautifully with our dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. The only downside was the cold temperature in the cellar where we were seated, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, the quality of the food and the wonderful atmosphere made for a memorable evening. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!
Helena — Google review
First time here for brunch, and we were super excited to try it out. The atmosphere is definitely incredible. Charming and comfortable. We arrived and were seated at 12:46pm. I was excited to try their brunch, but they didn't come by our table for anything until after 1pm and they'd stopped serving brunch. No problem. I had a backup. I ordered the sourdough bread basket with the tomato butter. Yeah, no. Apparently that's a misprint on their lunch menu, and they didn't have any bread baked. Fine. I ordered the Caesar salad. But the romaine lettuce was old and slimy, and I found a hair in it. Yes, technically the salad was still edible, but if I'm going to a nicer place I have higher expectations. Partner ordered the jalapeño burger and fries. The burger was fine, nothing special, but the fries were oily and floppy. DEFINITELY not worth $24, I can get a better burger at Carl's Jr. for half the price. Lady at the table next to us that had a dog in a stroller that barked anytime anyone got close. Will say, server was kind throughout, and removed our drinks from the tab. But the bill still came to about $50 before tip. I don't know how the $24 burger and $12 salad comes to $50, but whatever. Really disappointed in our overall experience and in the quality of the food. If you want to market yourself as a more upscale experience, then you need to follow through.

As a Placerville resident, you want to support local businesses and one that has a good reputation in the community. Tonight was utterly disappointing. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and made reservations at 6:30pm. Our server didn’t engage with us or ask if we were celebrating anything. We ordered drinks and food promptly, and then proceeded to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food (salmon and a steak). My wife’s steak came out well done even through she ordered medium rare. Our waiter seemed to be purposely avoiding us and never came to refill our drinks or check on us. I voiced my concerns and received a very lackluster response from the waiter. Then to add more insult to the night, when we finally got the check, the waiter proceeded to fill up my glass of water and left my wife’s empty…. Very disappointed in the service at Smith Flat House. Not a great way to celebrate an anniversary. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

My fiance and I ate here for the first time tonight. We will absolutely be back! One of the best meals we have had! We both got the filet and it was incredible. The spinach artichoke dip is also divine! The food, service and atmosphere make this one of the best spots in the area!
Amanda D — Google review
One of the areas' best restaurants. Great food excellent service. Large and beautiful outdoor patio seating, and a historic stone cellar dining room with a real well from the 19th century. Loads of history, this was a pony express stop and has been running in some format over 150 years. Also Great live music selected nights. A favorite for weddings and large events.
Hugh H — Google review
Odd place. I went to see my friend's band play. All seating in the courtyard. No bar to get a drink and just enjoy the music. Had to put my name in for a table. Fortunately, after a while, the hostess (didn't get her name) was extremely kind and sent the bartender out to get a drink for me. Bartender made a good Manhattan. When I did get seated, Maria was awesome and the food was good. Loved the wedge salad. Crab cakes were a bit dry, but still good.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Placerville, Amore Mio Italian Bistro is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Roman cuisine. This charming bistro prides itself on sourcing ingredients directly from Italy, ensuring that every dish bursts with genuine flavor. Start your culinary journey with their renowned appetizers like Carcio Fritti Al Formaggio—crispy artichokes stuffed with creamy mascarpone and goat cheese—or indulge in the delectable Fiori Di Zucchina Fritti, featuring zucchini blossoms filled with mozzarella.
Such a cute, sweet, hidden gem of an authentic Italian restaurant amidst downtown Placerville! The owner was the sweetest lady, sharing all her recommendations and so hard working and down to earth. The food was absolutely amazing and so was the wine! We will definitely be returning whenever we're in the area.
Anna — Google review
Yesterday, my wife and I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant. The place is located a bit off the main street, hidden behind some shops. You can find it either by spotting the sign from the road or by typing “Italian Restaurant” into Google Maps. The restaurant itself is nestled in a picturesque corner and immediately impresses with its cozy atmosphere. It’s quite small but charming. You can tell the owners tried to fit in as many tables as possible, which unfortunately led to some of them being placed in areas that, in our opinion, were not ideal. It was quite uncomfortable to squeeze through the narrow spaces just to get to our table. As for the service, we were quickly seated and served water right away. Unfortunately, that’s where the fast service ended, even though the restaurant wasn’t fully booked. This gave us time to look around and, unfortunately, we noticed that cleanliness didn’t seem to be a top priority. There was a lot of dust and cobwebs, and the glasses we were given were dirty with visible fingerprints. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, I told her about the dirty glass. She acknowledged it but never brought a replacement. We ordered a Caprese salad, two desserts, and a bottle of Menabrea beer (if I’m not mistaken about the name). The salad wasn’t anything special—I wish the basil had been fresher and there had been a bit more balsamic vinegar to enhance the flavor. Perhaps that’s just their recipe, but unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a pleasant aftertaste. As for the desserts, we enjoyed the tiramisu, but the second dessert clearly seemed like it had been sitting in the fridge for too long—it was tasteless and hard. We mentioned this to our server, and to her credit, she handled it very professionally and politely, apologized, and removed it from the bill. We have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, it was pleasant. On the other, there’s definitely room for improvement. Why did I give it five stars? Because I truly believe they care about what they’re doing and that it matters to them. Will we return? Yes—we’ll definitely come back to try something else.

This Italian restaurant is amazing!!! Get the caprese antipasta, and the spaghetti with sausage and meatballs. You won't be disappointed.

I took my mom here to eat, I ordered the lasagna and it was honestly one of the very best lasagna's I've ever had. The ladies that waited on us were so friendly and helpful, it's such a cute atmosphere tucked in the back and if you sit outside it's a pretty view of the creek. Such a thoughtful restaurant, they even have a bucket of reader glasses so people that need to borrow them can have an easy time to read the menu, my mom had forgotten hers at home so it was affordable perfect touch. The only thing that was a little disappointing is the price, it was around $50.00 for one lasagna and two sodas, they do give a few small pieces of yummy fresh bread, however a salad or veggies with the lasagna would have been nice since the lasagna portion was very small. It's worth paying more for such quality food, it just would have been nice to have a few fillers so you don't leave hungry after paying that much, however, I would still recommend everyone trying it since everyone that works there is so nice and we had a very nice time eating there.

Hands down the best Italian food in Placerville! Everything about our experience was perfect—authentic flavors, reasonable prices, and exceptional service. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine hospitality and made to feel like family. The food was beyond delicious—fresh, homemade, and full of rich, traditional Italian flavor. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every dish. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It’s rare to find a place that gets all the little things right: quality ingredients, great portions, fair prices, and service that truly stands out. If you’re looking for a real Italian dining experience in Placerville, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

A quaint spot tucked away in The heart of Placerville with amazing Italian food! The owner is a hands on Chef and she is gracious host. We saw Amore Mio featured on Best Bite in Town on the Food Network, they did not disappoint! The Pope's Lasagna was absolutely delish. Great wine list, attention to detail, and friendly prompt service made for a great experience! Although they did not win Best Bite on the show, (they should have) its a great place to dine. Cozy inside and their patio sits above a creek for us who like dining outdoors.

This little gem of a place is tucked back in a little open air mall in downtown Placerville. First, the service is 5 star from the minute you walk in until you leave. Every server makes you feel like you are the only customers there. By the end of your meal, you feel like family. The owner is right there making sure you have the best experience. She interacts with the guests and is constantly hugging and chatting with repeat customers who haven't been in for a while or just came last week. The food is outstanding! The best Italian food we have ever tasted!! We had three appitizers and four different main dishes that we all shared. Every dish was fantastic and came out piping hot. You could taste all the fresh ingredients in each dish. At the end, they give us a complimentary drink and a little biscotti cookie. This is a hidden gem you must try! We will be back again and again.

Unfortunately, not all dishes were good. Calamari was tasteless and the salmon in some orange-flavored sauce was impossible to eat. I sent a full plat back (a $32 dish). Overall, some good food like chicken Marsala and the clams in red sauce, plus pasta with meatballs, but some big letdowns.

The restaurant's vintage charm and historic roots add to its appeal, making it a recommended stop in downtown Placerville. I've eaten here twice now, and was super happy with my experience both times. Service is wonderful and attentive, the food is delicious, and they're family-friendly. It's clean and well maintained, and I love the design and theme of the decor. Perfect place to catch up with friends, or dine with the whole family.

Stopped in yesterday on a cold, rainy day to find a comfortable warm room and amazing food. The owner sat us and our little ones down at one of the large tables and brought our toddler a coloring book, crayons, and some toys that kept him happy while we looked over the menu and tended to babies with us. Everyone was extremely kind to us, especially the bar tender in the connected saloon that stands where the old hanging tree once stood. My wife and her chatted for a while about some of the history and I highly recommend everyone looking at the 100yo painting of what the town used to look like, including the famous tree. We ordered two of the pasta dishes, one burger, and my little ones and I shared absolutely loaded potato wedges. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The main reason we visited was to cover some of the history of Placerville for our podcast and we were very pleased that not only did we get to learn more firsthand , but we also got a memorable meal. Thank you to the owner and staff for being the highlight of our day.

This is our go to place whenever we're in the area and we've never been disappointed. Service has always been friendly, quick, and helpful. Food is outstanding, especially the classic pub nachos, banh mi tacos, and the loaded wedges. They also have a great on tap beer selection. Have heard it can get a bit loud, but we tend to get there early, so haven't had any problem with it being overly loud. Just go and enjoy!

This historic pub restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and amicable. The dishes were flavorful and hearty. We enjoyed this fantastic meal before our hike to Gilmore Lake. It's a prime spot for provisions and a delightful experience in a quaint town near Lake Tahoe.

This made for a great stop while passing through Placerville on the way to Lake Tahoe. Being on the main strip was convenient, and the pet friendly front outdoor eating area was perfect for my furry companion. I had the BBQ tacos which were delicious and my server, Tyson, did a great job. Also, there is nearby motorcycle parking and that's always a plus for us.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Placerville, the Enchanted Forest Dining Experience offers a whimsical escape for diners seeking something truly special. This charming venue is renowned for its enchanting decor that transports guests into a fairytale realm, making it an ideal spot for families and couples alike. The highlight of their menu is the Lobster Fondue four-course meal, priced at $79 per person—a delightful culinary journey perfect for romantic evenings or memorable family outings.
What an enchanting experience! I came with a group of sometimes fussy seniors who were delighted with the faerie crowns we received and beautiful edible flowers that graced our meals. The whiskey shrimp was a hit with 4 of us, one of us said the pasty was great and the two of us who had crepes were very pleased. My friend loved the lobster bisque too. The salads were fresh and lovely. Their honey mustard vinaigrette was perfect. I highly recommend for a relaxed and special dining experience.

The most fun restaurant I’ve ever been to. Truly a unique experience that me and my boyfriend go back to time and time again. Revisited placerville just to have this meal!! The atmosphere really makes it though. Good food, unbeatable service.

Such a fun experience. Staff was beyond friendly and the food was amazing. I've never tried mead but the flight was a perfect introduction to it. Simply a pleasure, would definitely recommend!

Drove two hours to eat here and it did not disappoint. Food was great and the service. The ambiance of this restaurant is awesome. If you are in the area definitely worth checking out... also Apple Hill is only 10 minutes away.

We went and celebrated my birthday today and the experience is just fun. Wearing the crowns and all the lights and the Staff wearing fairy theme type costumes I expected that to be fabulous, but then I ate the food! Oh my goodness the fondue was wonderful. The lobster bisque was fantastic. Then we eat pasty pies and I have never had anything so amazing. It was so good. I’m sorry to hear that they’re closing I hope they can move somewhere else soon. I will absolutely be back again

I went to dinner with some friends on their recommendation and loved it! The food was fantastic. We got a Baked Brie for the table, and I had the Lobster Bisque and the Savory Pasty Pie (Shepherd's Pie) and everything was to die for! The atmosphere was so beautiful. I truly felt transported into a magical place. The flower crowns were a fun touch, and our server, Miles, was a gem. He made our experience that much more special. I will be coming back!!!

Summary: A fun and unique concept with decent food and whimsical touches, but the service, layout, and pricing need serious improvement. Go after dark if you’re curious, but manage your expectations. Pros: 1) Creative and whimsical fairy theme. 2) Guests receive glowing flower crown headpieces — a fun touch that added to the experience, especially for the girls in our group. 3) Food was flavorful and nicely presented. 4) The drink flights were fine — not amazing, but enjoyable enough. Mead was ok, had better ones at the Faire. 5) The atmosphere feels more magical after dark. Cons: 1) Cramped seating: We were placed at a small table near the decorative tree, even though several booths sat empty. We were told they were "reserved," but no one used them the entire time. Even a group of five with a stroller was squeezed into a similar table. Mind you, booked a reservation. 2) Poor service: Our waitress never checked on us. We had to flag down other staff just to get refills or order dessert. 3) Rushed ending: Before we even started our dessert, the waitress finally showed up — only to drop off the check and ask that we pay it before she went on her lunch break. 4) Staff attitude: Many of the staff didn’t smile or engage with guests. Some seemed more focused on their appearance than providing a good experience. 5) Daytime atmosphere: In bright daylight, the space loses its intended charm and looks more like a regular bar. Not ideal if you're bringing children. 6) Overpriced: The food and drinks don’t justify the cost when paired with inattentive service and cramped seating.

A Magical Dining Experience at Enchanted Forest! We had the most incredible time at Enchanted Forest in Placerville! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance transported us to a whimsical fairytale world, charming, cozy, and full of creative details that make the whole experience feel truly enchanted. But the real magic happened when our dessert arrived. Not only was it delicious, but it was decorated with such thoughtful artistry that we had to pause just to admire it! Huge shoutout to Kailyn, the talented soul behind our dessert's beautiful presentation. Her creativity and attention to detail turned a sweet treat into a moment of wonder. You can tell she pours love into her work!! thank you, Kailyn, for adding that extra sparkle to our evening! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great food, imaginative ambiance, and a touch of fairy dust. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a lovely late dinner at The Heyday Cafe. The service was fast, friendly and attentive. All the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the roasted garlic bulbs, Caesar salad, and the truffle chicken pizza which was fantastic with a rich blend of gooey cheeses and tender chunks of free range chicken.

This has been a solidly consistent restaurant for many years. The food is really good and fresh. Very nice wine list. If I lived in the area this would definitely be a regular stop for me. It's a regular stop anytime. I am in the area though. I love the salad with the blue cheese and the glazed pecans with fresh apple slices. The split pea soup was hearty and perfect for a cold day. The crisp Loosen Riesling was perfect.

Wow. What a great little Main St. Cafe. We had Lobster Bisque, pizza and a Hey Day salad. By the way. If you're into salads this place has great eclectic choices. Furthermore the entrees are even more quixotic. Duck. Exotic fruits. Imported meats. This place has a little something for everyone. And the staff is wonderful. Very attentive. Even when there's a rush. Cafe atmosphere right on Main St.

A really nice little upscale Cafe. Good beer and wine list. The chicken and spaetzle soup was great. We shared the Mango Chicken Sandwich and the Truffle and Chicken Pizza.

Impossible burger (vegetarian) and lobster bisque soup. A dam good meal. Hands down best lobster bisque I've had in northern California. (Born and raised) I will be back for the bisque at a minimum.

Found this spot while exploring around. Came in right at opening time, got a seat immediately even though they already had a lot of reservations ahead of time. The food is really delicious, great selection of interesting food to choose from. The waiter was very courteous and knowledgeable. We loved this spot.
