I recently visited the Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum along with my father as we were visiting the city, and it was a fantastic experience! The museum is rich in tribal history and showcases a remarkable collection of artifacts that reflect the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh.
The exhibits were well-organized, providing insightful information about the local tribes, art, and traditions.
The exhibits included sections about handloom weaving, pottery, metal work, ancient weapons, folk arts including scroll paintings, wall paintings and tribal masks.
A very nice place for museum Lover here you can experience the exotic tradition of different tribes of chhattisgadh e.g., baigiya kol bheel baiga etc. Ticket price is ₹5/- per person.
A must-visit for history lovers! The ancient statues and scriptures on display beautifully reflect India’s vast cultural heritage and unity in diversity. It's a peaceful place to explore and learn about our roots.
However, there's scope for development—especially in infrastructure. The toilets need to be cleaner and properly marked with signboards, and the museum would benefit greatly from being fully air-conditioned, especially during the hotter months.

Was pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful collection of artefacts housed in this museum. It's one of the first museums established in pre-independence India, which in itself is a rather cool fact. On the first floor one walks through 4 sections with artefacts displayed chronologically, from prehistoric stone tools to the first religious and cultural sculptures unearthed in the region to numerous stone tablets engraved with beautiful brahmi script.
The second and third floors are dedicated to tribal, life and culture of the region. There is also an area enclosed in glass that contains many taxidermied animals and birds.
The museum is full of interesting things and though most are labelled, I felt the lack of descriptions to be a bit of a let down as it would have been wonderful to have more context about the origin and story around these priceless pieces of the past.
There is an outdoor place to eat here as well, it serves local street food items and is very cheap.

Very nice park managed by Raipur Muncipal. But not maintained good. All water circle are not working and broken, jogging track full dirty etc. No entry tickets is charged for visit this park. Only for jogging this park is good. Govt. May charge entry ticket but need to maintain. This park is around 3 I'm from Raipur railway station. Share autocharge Rs. 20/- per head.

Nandan Van Zoo is an expansive 800-acre animal park and zoo that offers a safari experience amidst lush landscapes. Visitors can embark on special lion safaris through sprawling green habitats, providing an up-close encounter with these magnificent beasts in their natural environment.
This is one of the best zoo and jungle safari that I have ever been to and I have also visited multiple zoo and jungle safari across India. Once upon a time the entire place was a barren land it was the Government of Chhattisgarh that slowly have transformed it into a Jungle and then the wild animals which were rescued where slowly kept here for breeding and caring purposes.
As the animals grew larger in number as they were bred and cared properly taken care of thus government have decided to start a jungle safari along with running a full fledged zoo. And the idea was historic. Currently we have this beautiful zoo with jungle safari is only because of the great vision the government has.
This place is so beautiful, that it's hard to describe and that's not only the zoo or the jungle safari but also the beautiful Lake boat ride that true that deserves of 5 star rating.

Nandanvan Zoo is located on village Atari across of Hirapur road Near Tendua village besides of Kharoon river. Herbivore, Bear, Tiger and Lion. Here one can see Cheetal, Sambar, Bluebull, Tiger, Lion and Bear in their natural habitat. The complex has a large number of tree plantations, secure fencing and facilities like valley pool. Initiatives like medical unit for newborn animals, administrative building, souvenir shop and plastic ban further enrich the experience here.
This place is really amazing! 😍Once you visit here, you will not even realize how time passes. Especially when you are with your friends 💑, partner🤝or family👨👩👦👦, the experience here becomes even more memorable.
My advice is to come here during rainy days or winter days. The atmosphere at that time is very beautiful. Believe me, you will like the atmosphere here very much. And then the summer season is a different kind of fun 😉

Nandan Van Zoo is a wonderful place for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The zoo is well-maintained, with a good variety of animals and birds in a natural environment. There's a Lord Shiva temple in the middle of the lake. This adds more beauty.

There are old and new Budha gardens.
In my opinion new is good for every age group but the old one is not good for everyone.
The lights of new Budha garden is better than old.
You will also get some activities for kids and boating is also there.

Once known as the Victoria Jubilee Hall, the Town Hall was inaugurated in 1887. The stones used to construct the building came from the Raipur Fort. The Town Hall is a majestic hall adjoined to the Shastri Chowk and Collectorate Bhavan. A list of all the ruling kings of various dynasties gives us an idea of the great men who are behind the splendid collection. The note also states that the Town Hall construction was initiated in 1887 and completed in 1889. Inaugurated in 1890, the Town Hall stands witness to the struggles of independence. The Nagar-Nigam has renovated the Town Hall. re-establishing its old splendour.
Chowk in Raipur is the Town Hall which is a government office as well as a tourist site. The place brims with rich history. It was my first trip to raipur city .. and I'll visit girnar for sure when I come to this city again. The ambience of girnar was so good. I am from visakhapatnam.. we don't have any hotel with this kind of ambience.
Visited Girnar’s Restaurant and tried their chicken and mutton biryani. The quality of food was okay, nothing exceptional, and the quantity is just enough for one person (not ideal for sharing).
The ambiance is good and makes for a pleasant dining experience. However, parking is an issue—no free parking space is available and valet parking comes at an extra charge.
The service was a bit slow, so be prepared to wait a little for your order. Overall, a ok experience.
Today, we ordered bulk thalis from Girnaar – The Thali Restaurant in Raipur for a birthday party, but it was very disappointing. The thali had bitter gourd curry, and the sweet dish was suji ka halwa made with dalda. Not at all what we expected for a celebration.

And we ordered the mutton biryani and mutton curry , but I'm quite certain what was served wasn't actually mutton. As someone familiar with the taste and texture of mutton, I found the dish to be unauthentic. The meat lacked the characteristic flavor and consistency I would expect. They have good punjabi taste and cuisine and for your taste buds you should visit this amritsari restaurant. Located at the hear of city the very know ghadi chowk of Raipur Chhattisgarh. Their meals are mostly fresh and preparation is also very good. They have lost of option for snack lunch and dinner. I have tried their kulche , dosa, special thali , tandoori Naan and roti. You always found this amritsari restaurant crowded and busy., so do place your order wisely other you have to wait long for your repat or refill orders .
No public toilets. When asked for washroom the waiter told - "Khule me jana padega apko".
Taste of food is poor and the place is unhygienic.

If there was an option for zero stars, I would give it. The food quality here is horrible – tasteless, stale, and completely unhygienic. To my shock, I even found a piece of plastic rope inside the food! This clearly shows how carelessly the food is prepared.
The staff and management didn’t even bother to apologize or take responsibility. Their attitude was rude, careless, and unprofessional. On top of that, the service is pathetically slow.
This place is a complete health hazard and should be avoided at all costs. If you care about your health and hygiene, never step into this restaurant. Raipur has far better places to eat – don’t waste your time, money, or risk your safety here.
One of the best place for Kulcha in raipur and food taste is mind blowing and thali is so nice it’s sufficient for one person and Kulcha, very stuffing, full and mind blowing taste. the atmosphere is very good and very busy restaurant. It might you have to wait for sometimes for sitting arrangement but you can’t regret and value for money food is they provide little bit. It is costly but it is worth it.

📍Restaurant is present at heart of city that is Ghadi chowk. This nice little place is good for quick Punjabi meal or you can also have full spread here. We had visited this place many times for small bites. We had tried their speciality Chole Bhature & stuffed kulcha also we tasted Gravies with Breads and Veg Matka biryani...
🥘 Stuffed Kulcha were nice but Chole Bhature was just okay (not every one gonna like the taste of their Amritsari Pindi chole which was somewhat different then regular Punjabi chole) Panner gravy was also good but portion size was less (not even 2 person can properly share it) Tandoori Roti & Naan were well cooked Best is their Matka Biryani you should give it a try

One of the oldest places in town, good food and atmosphere but the service could be better. Great spread of menu but mostly famous for south and north indian food.

The Service Was Very Slow The Gupchup Wasn't Coming The Dosa Was Burnt But The Panner Chilli Was The Best And The Icecream Was Not That Good Too The Atmosphere Has Been All Rush. But The Good Part Is If There's One Family Sitting In A Seat Then Other People Can't. My Advice Is Improve The Food A Little Bit And The Service Too.

The restaurant is a traditional one , a small place but the food is worth a try, whenever you are in Raipur.

No frills restaurant - Go for the chaat,chole bhature or South Indian items.
It's a crowded place most of the time. First time I visited here about a month ago and had Pani puri and dahi Puri and all I felt was that the place is not worth the hype.
But today was different. It was less crowded. The guys at the billing counter were pleasant and even the waiter was well behaved.
We ordered dahi wada, coffee, and lemon tea. First we were served cold water and the atmosphere was decent although the restaurant was quite old.
Dahi wada was served with cold and sweet dahi seasoned with thin sew and surprisingly red chilli powder. I would really recommend this.
Coffee here is really underrated. You must give it a try. I really loved the taste and definitely go for it again. You'll see in the picture.
Overall it's a nice family restaurant who served king size dosa and Chinese as well.
I must say do visit here when the crowd is lesser and they will serve you well.

Excellent fine dining restaurant both for veg and non veg. Food quality and service is top class. A must visit for all food lovers.They have a good party hall for organising private parties .They have a huge lawn for organising events like wedding etc.

This is a very good restaurant serving a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes right from soup, starters, main course & dessert. The complex also houses a fine bakery. The food is good & tasty and so is quantity. To me, it appeared that quantity was enough to serve 03 to 04 people depending upon the number of dishes ordered and appetite. The dishes are generally spiced, and for non spicy food, there is very limited choice. However, one can request for the same. This is a family restaurant with a good ambience. Alcohol, cocktail and mocktails ares also available.
One should visit for good quality of food. The restaurant may not be cheap.
There is also open space for very large parties.
Service was very very slow. They pay more attention to the customers with large groups. Food was average.
Had heard a lot about ambrosia in Raipur. Got to try it . Loved the quality of food. We ordered soup and Dhaniya chicken.

One of my best Restaurant choice in Raipur to spend some quality time and enjoying a delicious dinner with Family. Yes specially dinner all the food items are best in taste and quality, services and hygiene level is up to the mark. Specially i love paneer tikka masala, dal makhani, peanut salad and mashroom tikaa. It's a multi cuisine restaurant you can also enjoy the non- veg food also. Must visit place for good taste in Raipur...😋👌🙂

Very green - the adjacent lawn to the restaurant area is a treat to the eyes !

We went to the back garden area. The staff was very friendly and food was served hot and fresh. They came at regular intervals to ask if we needed anything.
The prices for items is on the upper side, but considering the ambiance, food, and staff, I'd say its well priced!!

They serve a variety of food .
Service was very good but the food taste was not up to the mark.
Overall, the experience was satisfactory, though the pricing was on the higher side. The potato filling in the samosa was slightly undercooked, and the service could be improved, as some waiter staff were discourteous when we requested additional chutney. (Behaviour is not satisfying)
I had high hopes as the name Maharaja, but this was a complete letdown. The quality and taste was shockingly low and poorly made.
It felt like no effort went into preparations. Definitely not worth the money or time. I won’t be coming back or recommending this to anyone.
Their service is being degraded day by day.Went on a weekday evening,the upma was reheated and served,the sambhar was watery.Bought banana chips which was also not worth eating.
Upma chutney,dosa used to be their best cuisines.Now even they are not able to serve basic things properly.
Would suggest to prefer Jalaram Open Kitchen rather than Maharaja
One of my favorite place to enjoy everyday breakfast on reasonable price. My go to order in Maharaja is their fast serve and most popular Upma, ghar ki feeling dene wali chai, spring roll dosa, masala dosa, samosas, dhoklas, poha, khandvi, idli, bhelpuri, what I dont like to order again is their grilled aloo sandwich rest is all good and worth the money
One of the best place in raipur, i have been there multiple times, do try out their amazing upma, dosa and chaats. The taste and quality of food has been the same thoughtout these years and they maintain it really well.
Maharaja Hotel is one of the top restro for breakfast in Raipur. It is very much famous for its UPMA. You can get all types of snacks and breakfast items like idli, dosa, upma samosa, dhokla, aloo gunda, bada, and many more. My review on the following are
Ambience and Seating- 3*/5 (Not so great, simple and practical seating)
Service- 4*/5 (Fast service but delays in rush hours)
Food Variety and Taste- 3.8*/5 ( Variety is very good but taste of some items are good.)
Pricing- 3.5*/5 (Item rates in the average category. Not so high and not so cheap)
Overall- 3.9*/5 (I liked the variety, pricing, service and taste of some items.)
Rating on items i tried on my visit-
Idli sambar- Not the best but satisfactory
Samosa chaat- loved it but unhealthy.
Dhokla chaat- average
Khoya jalebi- excess sweet, not up to the mark
