The VMRDA INS Kursura Submarine Museum, located on RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, is a popular tourist attraction. This museum features the INS Kurusura, a Russian-built submarine that was inducted into the Indian Navy in 1969 and decommissioned in 2001 after 31 years of service. It is the first submarine museum in Asia and the second in the world.
Wonderful experience of a lifetime. U get to experience the real view inside a marine lifestyle of submarine. The narrow spaces, multiple wires, switches, a treat to the eyes. Shows us how much struggle the navy goes through to protect us. Simply incredible. No photography inside the museum. Only disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning , except in compartment 1. Ticket price per head, 100/- A must must visit at vizag

Indian navy museum 🖼️ in hydrabad which is near vizag which is mostly beautiful place of this area. I loves to know the engine 🚂, machine and instruments which used by our indian Navy . If you wants to go there then perfect time is winter ❄️☃️ season bcz the place of vizag is looks amazing and fabulous 😍🤩😍.

Located right at Ramakrishna Beach (RK Beach), this place has a total of four war-related museums — INS Kursura Submarine Museum, TU-142 Aircraft Museum, Sea Harrier Museum, and UH-3H Helicopter Museum. If you plan to visit all four at once, the combined ticket is ₹200 per person. However, if you visit them individually, the ticket price is ₹100 per person per museum. Among all, the INS Kursura Submarine Museum is a must-visit once in a lifetime. It gives you a real glimpse into the tough life of our naval officers inside a submarine — how they live, work, and protect us deep under the sea during naval missions. I’ve uploaded a few inside pictures to give you an idea, but honestly, seeing it in person is a completely different experience — something you won’t find anywhere else. Just outside the museum gate, there’s a souvenir shop where you can buy small gifts and mementos to remember your visit. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Vizag or RK Beach! 🇮🇳⚓

The Submarine Museum in Vizag is a fascinating place to visit and gives a unique glimpse into the life of Navy submariners. Located right on the beach, the restored INS Kurusura submarine lets you walk through its narrow passages and see how sailors lived and worked underwater. The guides explain everything clearly, making the experience informative and engaging. The museum is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for families, students, and anyone interested in defense history. It’s not a long visit, but definitely a memorable one. A must-see attraction when exploring the Vizag Beach Road area.
RAM M — Google review
As a Mechanical Engineer, visiting the VMRDA Kursura Submarine Museum in Visakhapatnam was truly one of the most fascinating and inspiring experiences of my life. It’s not just a museum — it’s a living monument of engineering brilliance, naval courage, and Indian innovation that operated during an era when advanced electronics and digital automation were not yet developed. Everything inside this submarine runs purely on mechanical and manual systems, and that alone is enough to amaze anyone who loves machines and real-world engineering. The moment I stepped inside the submarine, I felt as if I had travelled back in time. The narrow corridors, control panels, and precisely arranged valves, levers, and gauges all tell a story of sheer human skill and endurance. Every inch of the Kursura showcases the dedication of Indian Navy officers who operated it with precision and bravery, defending our coastline under extreme conditions. It gave me a real sense of the challenges our naval heroes faced — limited space, high pressure, mechanical complexity, and the constant responsibility of keeping the submarine functional deep under the sea. From an engineering point of view, the Kursura is nothing short of a masterpiece. The way mechanical linkages, pressure systems, and propulsion units were integrated decades ago — all without modern sensors or computer controls — left me speechless. The attention to detail in the design reflects the intelligence and creativity of engineers of that generation. Even today, many of the internal systems are preserved in near-working condition, giving visitors a rare chance to see how things actually functioned when the submarine was active. Learning that the submarine was given a voluntary retirement after serving the nation for many years made me respect it even more. It wasn’t decommissioned due to failure, but because technology advanced and newer submarines with digital systems took over. Still, Kursura remains a symbol of mechanical engineering excellence and continues to educate thousands of visitors every year about how powerful and reliable purely mechanical systems can be. The museum staff and guides deserve appreciation too — they explain every section clearly and ensure that visitors understand the importance of each control room, torpedo section, and engine bay. Standing inside the engine room, hearing about how the diesel engines worked and how oxygen and pressure were maintained underwater, made me feel proud to be an engineer. It truly connects theory with reality — from thermodynamics to fluid mechanics, everything is right there in front of your eyes. I strongly recommend every student, engineer, and patriotic Indian to visit the Kursura Submarine Museum at least once. It’s not just about seeing an old naval vessel — it’s about experiencing the blend of science, courage, and history that shaped our defense capabilities. The Kursura is not only a war hero but also a museum of inspiration, reminding us that great things can be achieved with determination, teamwork, and innovative engineering. 🇮🇳

The proudest and most iconic reminder of Visakhapatnam's history as the HQ of the Indian Navy's Eastern Command, the Submarine Museum in Vizag, also known as INS Kursura Submarine Museum, is a must visit, one of a kind tourist attraction in the City. It's housed in a decommissioned Kaveri Class Soviet-built submarine, INS Kursura, which was decommissioned in 2001 after having served the Indian Navy for 31 years. The museum provides an immersive experience, offering insights into life inside a submarine and the complexities of underwater warfare. On display are various sections of a submarine, including the control room, torpedo room, crew quarters, the radar room and the engine room.
Adrian C — Google review
Not worth the money they charge as there's no one to guide you or give more information. It is all self learning. Gave 4 stars for the preservation and providing common public a chance to see what is inside a submarine.

OMG, this submarine museum is an INSANE ADVENTURE! 😍 Crawl through epic narrow hatches, marvel at high-tech gadgets, torpedoes, and heroic war tales—WOW! Super-friendly ex-navy guides spill mind-blowing stories, spotless vibes, pure thrill! A TOTAL MUST for history buffs, families, EVERYONE! Dive in NOW! 🌟🚀✨

Yarada Beach is a serene and picturesque destination in Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag. Surrounded by scenic cliffs and offering stunning ocean views, this beach provides a peaceful atmosphere for travelers seeking an escape from city life. The untouched sandy shores and clear waters make it an ideal spot for nature and seascape photography. With hills on three sides, the beach boasts isolated surroundings that are perfect for capturing breathtaking shots.
Yarada is one of the most beautiful beaches in Visakhapatnam. It’s less crowded, making it a perfect spot to spend peaceful time with family. However, there are hardly any decent stores or food stalls (just 2–3 small shops), so it’s better to carry your own food and water. If you enjoy serene surroundings with stunning views, this beach is a must-visit. It’s about 40 km from RK Beach. (I visited on a cloudy day, so my photos don’t do justice—the beach is far more beautiful in reality)
Masud M — Google review
This beach is a hidden gem — little far from the city but peaceful and less crowded, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The sunset views are absolutely stunning, and the water is remarkably clear. While there aren’t any major restaurants nearby, you'll find plenty of street food options to satisfy your cravings. Another plus is the ample parking space, which makes visiting hassle-free.
Sangita R — Google review
This is the best beach on mainland India's east coast. It's an amazing place; words cannot describe the beach's beauty. It is a must-visit destination. Swimming is absolutely not recommended due to large waves and strong sea currents.
Jit C — Google review
Yarada Beach offers a great location with truly breathtaking views, perfectly combining the sea and surrounding mountains. The natural scenery is superb. However, it's a shame the beach is unfortunately not clean. If maintenance were improved, it would be a five-star destination!

It's a offbeat beach, always stick to the Google map. There is a liquor bar. You can find coconut sellers there and some small dhaba like stall..the road is vary Good. There will be no hustle to reach the beach. If you need extra petrol you can buy this from the village, there is a small shop with cold drinks and other stuff.
Sanjib H — Google review
The sandy shore meets the foamy waves of a vast ocean, with a lush, green hill forming a dramatic backdrop. The overcast sky adds a moody, tranquil atmosphere to this beautiful coastal landscape.
Adri S — Google review
This beach is so beautiful and gives Goa like vibes or even better. I went here after Dolphin nose light House and the journey itself is quite amazing. The little village on the hill and the view from that place was astonishing. The beach is clean and gives really good vibes. No parking charges at all. And yes I must recommend going in evening as the sunset looks charming from there. Overall a fantastic experience. Definitely a go to place if you visit Vizag. 🌊⛱️

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park

Zoo
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, located just 17 kilometers from Vizag, is one of Asia's largest wildlife parks spread over 625 acres of Kambalakonda Reserve Forest. The park showcases a diverse range of animals, including white tigers, panthers, spotted deer, and various primate species in naturalized enclosures. Visitors can explore the park through guided safaris to gain insights into the unusual fauna and participate in conservation education initiatives.
The zoo was completely clean and well maintained. I saw animals like Tiger, Lion, jackals, crocodiles, cheetah, deer, elephants, various types of birds and many more. I went in a cool weather which made the place look more attractive. Animals are being taken care properly by the authorities. Inside there are places to have ice cream, tea or coffee. The place is worth visiting for wildlife lovers.

Vizag Zoo Park We recently visited Vizag Zoo Park with our family, and it was a wonderful experience! We saw a wide variety of animals including tigers, white tigers, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, snakes, lions, deer, and even an anaconda. The kids were especially excited to see the different species of birds, peacocks, and tortoises. We chose to explore the entire zoo on foot, which allowed us to enjoy the natural beauty and greenery all around. It was a refreshing and peaceful walk, and a great way to connect with nature while learning about wildlife. We also visited the butterfly zone, which looked nice, but unfortunately there were no butterflies at the time. That was a bit disappointing, but overall it didn’t take away from the experience. The zoo is well-maintained and perfect for a family outing. My kids really enjoyed everything, and we had a great time together. Highly recommended for a fun and educational day out in nature
Satya V — Google review
Vizag Zoo, officially known as the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, is one of the most pleasant places to visit in Visakhapatnam. Surrounded by lush green hills, the zoo feels peaceful and refreshing right from the moment you enter. It’s very well maintained and perfect for families, especially if you’re visiting with kids. The atmosphere is clean, calm, and full of greenery everywhere. The zoo is quite large, so be ready for a good walk, but battery cars are available if you want an easy ride. You’ll get to see tigers, lions, elephants, leopards, bears, deer, monkeys, crocodiles, and many colorful birds. All the animal enclosures are neat and spacious, which is great to see. The butterfly park and bird aviary are two sections that really stand out. They’re full of color and life. Information boards near each enclosure give small details about the animals, which makes the visit more interesting and educational. There are small food stalls and resting areas along the way, so you can easily spend two to three hours here without getting tired. Vizag Zoo is a lovely place to spend a relaxed day surrounded by nature and wildlife. It’s peaceful, refreshing, and truly worth visiting when you’re in Vizag.

Visited Indira Gandhi Zoological Park recently, and it’s a wonderful place to explore with children and family. ✅ Wide Variety of Animals – The zoo has White Lions, Tigers, Monkeys, Parrots, Tortoises, and many other wild animals. It’s a great learning experience, especially for kids. ✅ Good Environment – The park is spacious, and walking around gives you a real jungle-like feel. ⚠️ Suggestion for Improvement: In the parrot section, the birds are not clearly visible due to white glass panels. It would be better if they used mesh or transparent barriers instead, to allow better viewing while ensuring safety. Overall, a great outing spot with lots to see and learn. With a few small improvements, it can become one of the best zoological parks in the region! Let me know if you'd like this translated or shortened for social media posts!

A Day at the Zoo 🐘 Had such a fun (and slightly tiring 😅) day at the zoo! MONDAY CLOSED 🎟️ Ticket – ₹70 🚗 Parking – ₹50 (₹700 if you take your car inside) 📵 No network inside, so better carry cash. 👶 If you’re with elders or toddlers, take the e-car — walking can be tough. If you choose to walk, you have to complete the full round — you can’t come back midway. Toilets are there but some lights don’t work. A few animals weren’t available, and there’s no one around to inform you. To see the fish, there’s an extra charge of ₹4 per person. In between, you’ll only find ice cream and a water cooler, so carry some snacks if you need more. Despite the little issues, it was still a nice day surrounded by animals and nature! 🌿🐾 Such a peaceful and happy day! 🌿💚

The zoo was clean, easy to move around. It had options to use our own vehicle, their ev cart, electric cycle which makes it easy to commute. Animals are kept in large open conditions as per their adaptable conditions. Zoo has many clean toilets are all turns which makes it easier for kids and elderly people. Overall a good experience.
Srinivasan M — Google review
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam is a well-regarded zoo praised for its spacious enclosures and variety of animals, including tigers, lions, and rhinos. Visitors often highlight the park's large area, noting it can be a bit overwhelming to walk, but the availability of bike and rickshaw rentals makes it manageable. While the park is generally seen as a positive experience, some visitors mention issues like high car entry fees, expensive electric cycles, and certain cages being under maintenance or empty. What visitors like Animal variety: The park is home to a diverse collection of animals, such as tigers, lions, jaguars, giraffes, rhinos, and various birds and reptiles. Spacious enclosures: Many visitors appreciate the design of the enclosures, which allow animals to be seen walking in open spaces from a relatively close distance. Large area: The park is expansive, providing a large area for visitors to explore, though it can be tiring to walk the entire length. Family-friendly options: The park is considered good for families and has facilities like a playground, making it a popular destination for those with children. Transportation options: To make it easier to see the park, visitors can rent battery-operated vehicles, bicycles, or use rickshaws. Points to consider Transportation costs: The cost of entry for cars is considered high by some visitors. Maintenance and availability: Some reviews mention that certain cages are under maintenance or that some animals are not present. Expense of rentals: Electric cycle rentals are also noted as being expensive by some. Tips for visiting Go with plenty of time to see the animals, as the park is very large. Consider using a rental option like a battery-operated vehicle to cover the distance comfortably, especially if you have children. Check the park's operating hours before your visit. Be prepared for potential issues, such as some animals not being visible due to maintenance or other reasons.

Rushikonda Beach, located near Vizag, is a picturesque and popular destination known for its curved shoreline, clear waters, and surrounding hills. It's often referred to as the 'Jewel of the East Coast' due to its pristine beauty. The beach offers various water sports such as diving, jet skiing, windsurfing, and swimming. Visitors can also enjoy the tranquil atmosphere away from city life while taking in the stunning views of rocky shores and distant hills.
In the month of March, I had the opportunity to visit Rushikonda Beach in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with my close friend Ayush. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and refreshing experiences of our trip. Known for its natural beauty and clean shoreline, Rushikonda Beach is truly a gem on the east coast. The beach was lively yet peaceful, with golden sands and clear blue waters creating a stunning view. The gentle waves and cool breeze made it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. We spent a good amount of time walking along the shore, chatting, and soaking in the serene atmosphere. What made the experience even better was the scenic drive to the beach. Surrounded by lush greenery and coastal roads, the journey itself was quite beautiful. The beach is also a great place for water sports like jet skiing and surfing, which adds excitement for adventure lovers, though we mainly went there to enjoy the peaceful vibe. Food stalls near the beach served tasty local snacks, allowing us to enjoy a light meal while enjoying the sea view. The beach was clean and well-maintained, which made our visit even more pleasant. Overall, Rushikonda Beach is a must-visit destination in Vizag for anyone who loves nature, sea views, and a relaxed vibe. It was a memorable experience that I’d highly recommend to others. Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse is a popular tourist destination located on the Gangavaram port of Vizag, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and ocean. The name is derived from the large rock viewpoint that resembles a dolphin's nose shape. This 174-meter-high headland provides stunning vistas of the coastline and lush green hills.
It is a must visit place in vizag. The experience is amazing. The view is breathtaking. The timings are restricted from 3PM - 5PM only, so plan accordingly. It is located towards the south of vizag, roughly 25km from RK beach. The way goes through industrial areas, military areas and a steep ghat road. The ghat road journey can be a little tough with sharp turns, speed breakers, steep road and bumpy patches. Once you reach the entrance, there is a good parking area and you can buy the entry ticket. From there you need to walk around 200-300m to the main lighthouse. From there you need to climb around 70 normal steps and 10-12 steps in a ladder to reach the top. The view is just breathtaking and very wholesome. The wind will be strong, so take care of your belongings. And walk slowly as there is less area to roam on the top. Cellphone signals will be weak here.
Kalyan J — Google review
The Dolphin’s Nose Lighthouse is one of Vizag’s hidden gems and absolutely worth a visit. Perched on a rocky headland, the lighthouse offers a spectacular panoramic view of the coastline and the vast Bay of Bengal. The sweeping sight of the blue waters meeting the rugged shoreline is truly breathtaking and makes the climb worthwhile. The area around the lighthouse is calm and less crowded, which adds to the charm. It’s a great spot for photography, relaxation, or simply soaking in the refreshing sea breeze. The vantage point also gives visitors a unique perspective of Vizag’s natural beauty, blending hills, sea, and port views all in one frame. Do take note of the visiting time on the day of your visit. Its 3pm-5pm. Security is kind of strict in the area for obvious reasons. For those exploring the city, the Dolphin’s Nose Lighthouse is a must-visit destination to experience the scenic grandeur of the coast
Kiran S — Google review
A fantastic place! This was my first visit to a working lighthouse, and it was truly fascinating. Do note that it’s open only for a short two-hour window, so it’s best to reach around 2:30 PM, as ticket sales start from 3 PM onwards. The climb inside can be challenging for elderly visitors since the stairs are steep and narrow, but we were fortunate to be in the first batch. The bird’s-eye view from the top is absolutely mesmerizing and makes the effort worthwhile. A must-visit spot if you’re in Vizag for the first time!

Perched high above the Bay of Bengal, the Dolphin’s Nose Lighthouse stands as a symbol of guidance, strength, and serenity. 🌊 From here, the vast ocean stretches endlessly, and the rhythmic sound of waves meeting the cliffs feels like nature’s own heartbeat. Situated near the Indian Navy base camp the Dolphin nose light House is a really good place to be add on while visiting Vizag. There was no entry fee. The view from the light House is amazing. One can see the Bay of Bengal and it looks so soothing. There are certain rules and regulations while visiting. And you may need to wait for 10-15min as the visiting is like batch wise. And mind your head while going above the light House stairs. Overall a good experience. 🏮

The beach comes alive during sunset with street food vendors, small shops, and visitors gathering to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Located near the Kali Mata temple, it is part of the city's bustling seafront area.
Highlight of Vizag. The beautiful beach, well maintained and happening. Visitors can simply go to the beach, sit on the seats and enjoy the view. The port can also be seen on the right hand side. There are plenty hotels, restaurants, cafes and street food options. Perfect family weekend outing spot also. A must visit place.

Ramakrishna Beach to use Gen Z parlance is the most "happening" place in Vizag with something for everyone. Stunning views of the Bay of Bengal, golden sands, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets if you are a nature lover. There are also patches of beach shaded by coconut trees called Coco Arenas, ideal spots to relax by the beach. For history buffs there are four museums dedicated to the rich history of Visakhapatnam as the HQ of the Eastern Naval Command. The INS Kursura a museum housed in a decommissioned submarine which gives glimpses of life inside a submarine. TU 142 Museum showcases the history of Naval Aviation and features a well preserved TU 142 aircraft. The Sea Harrier Museum and White Tiger Zone showcase the history of the Sea Harrier aircraft a British built fighter jet capable of vertical lift off and landing, deployed in the 1980's. UH3H Museum is the latest addition showcasing the legacy of the UH3H Helicopter first deployed by the Indian Navy in 2007. The Museum features an actual helicopter allowing visitors to explore the interior of the aircraft. Evenings become a hive of activity when crowds throng the beaches and vendors occupy every available nook or corner selling from authentic local gourmet delights to innumerable knick knacks.

It was very clean with no litter, and had a peaceful atmosphere with only the sound of the waves. The views, especially at sunset, were breathtaking. We loved how quiet it was, making it feel like a private escape, though it was close enough to walk to nearby restaurants when we wanted. I highly recommend this for a peaceful and beautiful beach experience.

RK (Ramakrishna) Beach boasts a truly grand and vibrant atmosphere. The drive along the beautiful Beach Road is a scenic delight, and the area is remarkably clean and well-maintained, reflecting its status as a city landmark. The grandeur comes from the wide shoreline and monuments like the Submarine Museum nearby. Perfect for an evening stroll or sunrise viewing!
Parijat P — Google review
The beach is well-maintained, with walking paths, food stalls, and seating areas. You can enjoy local snacks, take a stroll with family, or just sit and enjoy the waves. The nearby attractions like Submarine Museum, TU-142 Aircraft Museum, and Kailasagiri ropeway add more charm to the location. Crowds can be high during weekends, but the atmosphere always feels safe and energetic. Parking and basic facilities are also decent.

Sights & Landmarks
Victory At Sea War Memorial is a seaside park located on Beach Road, dedicated to the Indian naval victory in 1971. It was opened in 1996 to honor the brave navy soldiers who were martyrs in the India-Pakistan war. The memorial commemorates the successful defense of INS Vikrant from a Pakistani submarine attack, which led to India's victory and the creation of Bangladesh.
Tall & impressive, this war monument reminds you of the glories of the Indian Navy during the 1971 war. A telling tribute to our brave soldiers. Can be visited along with various other attractions as it just takes few minutes. Overseas the RK beach and provides good views of the sea.

**Peaceful & Patriotic Spot** A well-maintained war memorial honoring Navy heroes of the 1971 war. Located right on RK Beach, it's free to visit and perfect for a quiet, reflective stop. Great views and a strong sense of pride.

The Victory at Sea Memorial in Vizag is a compact, poignant, and thoughtfully located tribute to the Indian Navy and the sacrifices of naval personnel during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. It’s not a full, detailed museum — but as an outdoor memorial, it does a good job of combining solemn remembrance with scenic waterfront ambiance, making it well-suited for short visits, personal reflection, or as part of a broader beach road walk. If you’re traveling in Visakhapatnam, especially along Beach Road, the Victory at Sea Memorial is a worthy stop: not just for its historical resonance, but also for the peaceful, contemplative space it provides next to the sea. It pairs particularly well with visits to the Ramakrishna Beach and the INS Kurusura Submarine Museum, turning the walk into both a tour and a moment of remembering the naval heritage of the city.

The TU 142 Aircraft Museum in Vishakhapatnam is a must-visit for those interested in Indian military history. It houses the preserved Tupolev Tu-142 aircraft, which served the Indian Naval system for over 29 years. Visitors can explore the aircraft and its aeronautical equipment, including engines, propellers, sonobuoys, anti-submarine missiles, and more.
This museum is a must visit. It shows various historical facts and technical details about TU142 aircraft. It shows a model how an aircraft is inspired from a bird. The museum also covers various duties of people working in aircraft. It shows models of aircraft parts. You can get a combo ticket which gives entry to the submarine, aircraft museum and sea harrier. Try to visit in the evening as it will be cool.

**TU 142 Aircraft Museum – Family Visit 🥰🥰🥰** During our recent trip to Visakhapatnam, we visited the TU 142 Aircraft Museum located near RK Beach, close to the HPCL Colony. It was an exciting and educational experience for our whole family. The museum is centered around the decommissioned TU 142M aircraft, a long-range maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft used by the Indian Navy. The aircraft, now on display, has been beautifully preserved. We were amazed by its massive size and advanced features for its time. Inside the museum, there are several informative exhibits about the aircraft’s history, its role in Indian defense, and the technology used. The children especially enjoyed the interactive screens and videos that explained how the aircraft operated. The museum is well-maintained, with clean surroundings and helpful staff. We also appreciated the neatly arranged photo gallery and the short documentary that gave us more insights into naval aviation. Overall, it was a fun and educational outing for all of us. The visit gave us a sense of pride in our nation’s defense achievements. We highly recommend the TU 142 Museum to families visiting Vizag – it's a great combination of learning and enjoyment.👌👍🤝🤝🤝🥰

The TU-142 Aircraft Museum in Vizag is a must-visit spot for anyone interested in aviation and the Indian Navy. The huge aircraft displayed right next to the beach is impressive, and the museum inside gives a clear look into the life, technology, and missions of this iconic patrol aircraft. The exhibits, videos, and interactive displays are well presented and easy to understand. The place is clean, well-managed, and great for families and students. It doesn’t take too long to explore, but the experience is unique and memorable. A perfect addition to your Beach Road sightseeing.

**Great Aviation Museum by the Beach** Amazing experience inside the TU‑142 aircraft! The displays are well-organized, informative, and kid-friendly. Perfect for aviation lovers and right across from the submarine museum. Worth the visit!
Khushbu P — Google review
Great museum, the entrance with the long curved room with different sections is really interesting, it has all sorts of things like memorials for pilots, a lifeboat, an engine and more cool things. The tu142 itself is also preserved very well, I just wish the flight deck was not chained off.
Fatehbir — Google review
After 30 years of service the TU-142M Aircraft of Indian Navy was decommissioned and placed at Visakhapatnam sea beach by converting it to a museum. Located just opposite to Submarine museum this became one more major tourist attraction at RK Beach Area. There is an entry fee of Rs 100/- Per person no extra fee for camera. Before entering into the aircraft you can see display of various equipments and parts of aircraft placed inside one exhibition hall. Equipments like sonobuoys, propeller, engine, survival kit, anti submarine missile, date recorder etc are displayed with all details. Outside the aircraft you can take photos and the area is well maintained. There is a flight simulator platform which can be enjoyed through VR headsets.
PIYUSH P — Google review
In March, I had the pleasure of visiting the 142 Aircraft Museum in Visakhapatnam with a friend, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Located right along the beautiful RK Beach and near the iconic INS Kurusura Submarine Museum, the aircraft museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Indian Naval aviation history. The highlight of the museum is the HAL Tupolev Tu-142M aircraft, which served the Indian Navy for nearly three decades. Standing tall and majestic, the aircraft’s sheer size is impressive and commands attention. Inside the museum, we got to explore the aircraft's interior, including its cockpit, radar systems, and sonar room, all of which are preserved to reflect its operational condition. The exhibits and displays were informative and well-organized, with plenty of background on the aircraft’s missions, technology, and history. What made the visit even more exciting was the proximity to the submarine museum, offering a rare chance to explore both naval air and underwater defense technology at one location. The setting by the beach added to the charm, making it perfect for a relaxed yet educational outing. The staff was helpful, and the entry process was smooth. I’d highly recommend the 142 Aircraft Museum to anyone visiting Vizag—whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, history buff, or just looking for a unique experience by the sea. It’s a tribute to India’s naval legacy and a proud piece of maritime history.

Just opposite the submarine. First one will go through details of aircrafts and antisubamrine capability, then awards, then the real deal. A mesmerising TU 142 in front of your eyes. U on board it to see the mechanism of the aircraft, the sonobuoys and missiles. Ticket price 100/- per head.

Bamboo Bay @ The Park in Visakhapatnam is a restaurant located at The Park Hotel on Beach Road. Its prime location offers stunning views of the Bay of Bengal and breathtaking sunsets. The restaurant's tribal chic decor and candlelit ambiance create a cozy atmosphere to enjoy their menu featuring flavorful Indian specialty dishes.
BAmboo Bay is the signature northIndian/ Mughlai cuisine outlet of The Park, Vizag and has a romantic outdoor setup with candle lights. The place is best enjoyed at sunset or dinner with sand beneath your feet. The dishes are however on the higher side but can be custommade to your liking, with service a bit slower (one negative!). We tried the butter chicken and paneer makhani along with the fluffy LAchha parantha nad butter naan. The quantities of the dishes is something which should be increased! But overall a nice place for a couple or group for drinking and dining :)

The restaurant serves a diverse cuisine including gourmet Italian, Pan Indian, and tropical flavors.

We went with family and friends, and it was a good experience all together. But one thing wants to say, once the restaurant is full, then the services are delaying, like delaying in food making and shortage of cutlery. Although the view is great and as well as the ambience.
Subhankar S — Google review
Located within the premises of The Park Hotel, this restaurant is known for their varieties of menu, buffet spread and culinary offerings. The ambience is superb. Ample amount of sunlight through the glass walls and stunning view of lush green spreading upto sea-line formulate a very nice axis among brain-tongue-stomach. We visited the restaurant on the eve of Onam. Traditional dishes like raw banana fry, dal vada, yam and black chana dal, beetroot thoran, brinjal curry, aviyal, ghee rice, chutneys along with payasam were served on the buffet. The preparations were flavourful and tasted unique. Few things which pinched are the delayed service, non-attendance of staffs towards requirement at the table and refilling of dishes and tariff. Considering the varieties of foods offered, the restaurant seemed to be quite overpriced. Still opting for four stars because of the dining experience the restaurant provides especially because of the decor. Overall verdict- recommended for one time visit if budget permits.
Sourav C — Google review
During our stay at The Park, Visakhapatnam, we decided to try their in-house restaurant, Vista, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Located on the ground floor, the restaurant offers a tasteful ambiance with elegant décor. We were lucky to get a corner table by the glass windows, which provided a stunning view of the garden and the sea in the distance. The calming atmosphere, combined with the serene view, set the perfect tone for our dining experience. We started with a simple yet classic dish – the Cheese Chilli Toast. To our surprise, it was one of the best versions we’ve ever had. The toast came with a generous layer of creamy, melted cheese balanced with just the right amount of spice from the chillies. The cheese was soft and fresh, and the accompanying ketchup complemented the flavors beautifully. It was a great start to our meal and left us excited for what was to come. For the main course, we opted for the Paneer Tikka Biryani, and the portion size was truly impressive! The biryani bowl could easily serve three people, making it perfect for sharing. The highlight, though, was the succulent paneer cubes – incredibly soft and perfectly spiced. The flavorful basmati rice, long-grained and fragrant, paired wonderfully with the paneer, creating a truly satisfying dish. It was, without a doubt, one of the best paneer biryanis I’ve had in a long time. To end our meal on a sweet note, we ordered the Shahi Tukda Roll, which we were told is a specialty of the restaurant. This dessert was the star of our dining experience! The rolls, stuffed with delicate pistachio flavors, were dipped in rich, saffron-infused rabdi. The balance of sweetness was perfect – not too overpowering, just enough to leave you wanting more. We were so impressed that we personally thanked the chef for creating such a delightful dish. It was truly the highlight of our entire meal. The only minor drawback was the service speed, which could be improved. The biryani took around 30 minutes to arrive, and our special instructions weren’t fully followed. However, the delicious food and lovely ambiance more than made up for this. Overall, Vista at The Park exceeded our expectations with its excellent food, delightful ambiance, and scenic views. We highly recommend visiting for a memorable dining experience in Visakhapatnam!

They have little knowledge regarding drinks and mixing of it. Over all 3/5

The fine dining restaurant located at Novotel Vizag is bound to give you a seamlessly wonderful experience. Very soberly done up and adequately lit. The service is top notch, I was very well attended. The cutlery adds to the decor making the dinning experience even better. I happened to taste a lot of things and almost everything was very well made. They serve up conventional North Indian food without messing around with it. It would probably be the best restaurant in Vizag for that cuisine. My recommendations would be:- Patrani machi, methi matar sheekh, Gilafi sheekh, ajwaini jhinga, dal makhni, malai kofta, Nalli Nihari, tandoori jhinga masala, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan!

Sri Sairam Parlour is a popular restaurant in Visakhapatnam, with two locations in Dwaraka Nagar and Asilmetta. It is known for serving authentic South Indian cuisine, offering a variety of tiffin options and thalis for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is praised for its high-quality and flavorful dishes, making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Their South Indian Thali is highly recommended for those seeking an authentic Andhra lunch experience.
Following my brother's favorable evaluation from his breakfast visit last year, we came here for the breakfast. The building's two floors are occupied by the restaurant. The first floor has the dining option, while the ground floor is self-service. We have placed orders for poori, masala dosa, and wada. Every dish is excellent, and we enjoyed the assortment of chutneys available. The staff will recommend the best meals if you are unsure what to eat, and the service is prompt. There are plenty of free parking spaces available to patrons of the restaurant. After your meal, make sure to pick up your parking coupon. A wonderful dining experience all around.

The Food quality and taste was very good but the interior and look wise it’s bit rusty and dark. After entering hotel for meal option it looks very beige and dull, They have to improve the interior and lightening for better ambience. The Darker rooms feel like a bar and not hotel. The food quality and taste was superb. I tried Veg thali and Sweet, both was highly recommended.

Mrinmayee G — Google review
I visited this place twice during my 4-day stay in Vizag and it quickly became one of my favorites. What really stood out was the variety of chutneys they offer with breakfast. My personal favorite was the Palli (peanut) chutney. Each time I ordered, I got four chutneys along with sambar: Palli (peanut), Kobbari (coconut), Allam (ginger), and Pudina (mint). I ended up visiting a second time just for the Palli chutney—it's that good! It tasted just like the homemade chutney you would find in a typical Telugu household, which made it even more special. As for the food, I tried Idly, Vada, Uttapam, and Rava Dosa. The Idly was soft and fluffy, but the Vada wasn’t as soft as I would have liked. The Uttapam was a bit too thick for my taste, but the Rava Dosa was spot on—crispy and perfectly made. I highly recommend this place just for the Palli (peanut) chutney alone. One thing to note: the AC hall on the first floor isn’t very well-lit and can get pretty warm. It doesn't quite feel like you're in an air-conditioned room, which might be a bit uncomfortable for some.

Sairam Parlour in Visakhapatnam is one of the most popular spots for delicious tiffins and vegetarian meals. The taste and quality of the food are excellent, making it a highly recommended place, especially when you're with family or friends. I personally prefer their vegetarian meals, which are wholesome, tasty, and very satisfying. It's usually quite crowded, and sometimes the waiting time can be long, especially during peak hours. The food might take time to arrive, but it's worth the wait. Their full meals are the best I've ever had. They are fresh, flavorful, and served with a generous variety of items. If you're visiting for the first time, don't miss the Sambar Rice and Veg Meals; they are must-tries! They also offer ice creams, which are perfect for finishing off your meal on a sweet note. Parking is available, and here's a tip: if your bill is over ₹150, you get free parking, but make sure to carry the bill with you when you leave. Give it a try; you won’t regret it!

Since childhood when we were in Visakhapatnam, it was one of our frequently visited restaurants. As we went to Visakhapatnam to attend a family function for one day from hyderabad, we just don't want to miss visiting this restaurant. While heading to the airport, we went there just to have filter coffee, which is just WoW. The taste n aroma is just simply flavourful. The restaurant needs an upgradation as it looks a little bit old and gloomy. The service is fast as before, and the staff are cordial. But the hygiene n neatness of the table cleaning n all needs some immediate attention. We even want to pack their famous rasmalai in their sweet counter, honey dew. But, they advised packing to have a spillage for the long distance. So I couldn't take that, but the taste is just mouth watering n very yummy.

Ming Garden is a sophisticated Chinese restaurant located at The Gateway Hotel Beach Rd, Pandurangapuram, Visakhapatnam. It offers elevated Chinese dishes and provides garden views. The restaurant is known for its tangy Szechwan starters and aromatic soups. Ming Garden is popular among the city's foodies, drawing crowds on weekends. The menu includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines, providing delightful cuisine in a classic ambience.
Situated just opposite one of the most popular beaches in Vizag, this restaurant offers amazing food and aesthetics. There is a swimming pool area and a huge balcony/courtyard overlooking the beach where one can while away the foodgasm that this restaurant will leave one with. Our waiter, Mr. Nayak, was an absolute gentleman who helped us navigate the menu, engaged us in the history of the hotel and complimented us with an extra serving of dessert. The said dessert - dragon roll (in the pictures) - is a must try. We had also ordered seafood such as calamari, which was amazing. There is a section of special oriental food such as Chinese hotpot which requires prior intimation to prepare. It's a high-end restaurant, so be prepared to spend ₹3-4k for two. But it's worth it. Cocktails/mocktails are on point. Parking is available. Hands down, one of the best Asian cuisine places in Vizag.

Located inside The Gateway Hotel at RK beach, this restaurant is considered to be one of the fine dining restaurants serving Asian delicacies. There is ample parking space. The restaurant’s ambience is themed as per the preparations they serve. Mr Nayak is polite, courteous and helpful enough to took you through the menu and guide towards your choice. We had only wok tossed chicken hakka noodles as we were near full. The portion were good and taste wise also nice. The tariff is definitely on the higher side. But I’m sure that anyone who’s visiting a property of Taj Hotels should be ready to spend few extra bucks. The view of Bay of Bengal from the restaurant as well as from the extended courtyard is mesmerising. Overall verdict- definitely recommended if you’re looking for a high end Asian restaurant.

The quantity of food is very nice. 2 dishes can easily fill 2 people. I went there with 2 of my friends. We weren't so hungry at that time, so 2 dishes were enough for us. Definitely the best Chinese I have had in Vizag so far. Prices are on the higher side but considering the standard of fine dining in the city, I will gladly spend on good food. Those who are scared of the amount of chilli added in every dish in every restaurant in Vizag, will find this to be a happy respite. Food is fresh and filling. Apart from the quality of cooking, another good thing about the food is that they serve a variety of meats including crab, pork and lamb. If you order in advance you might get the duck. Their cocktails are not bad. Hospitality is absolutely amazing. The staff will customise food according your request and give fairly good recommendations of wines and other liquor. Many of them speak and understand Bengali and Oriya and took the time to chat with me. I was able to score complementary desserts twice during my visits. And one time I went at closing time, but since the staff know me, they made me dinner anyway. Recommended dishes: seafood dimsums, crab meat soup, mixed Chinese chopseuy, mizho lamb, pork in ginger oyster sauce, dragon roll. Also people who miss this thing called 'gravy chowmein' as much as they miss Calcutta (like me) you can ask the staff to make you some.

Very did appointed with the taste of food . Sauces are too sweet (authentic is only for books ),I will say local vendors make quiet tasty momos ( dim sum) considering the equipment available with them .kung pao noodles has a broccoli 🥦 big steam pieace . All in all they are binging down the name of taj

South Indian restaurant
Venkatadri Vantillu, located near Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, is a popular restaurant known for its wide variety of delicious and spicy South Indian dishes. The menu includes an array of Andhra-style breakfast items such as dosas, uthappam, and idlis, as well as satisfying meals. Customers rave about the soft and smooth idlis served with flavorful peanut and coconut chutneys.
Awesome food must try all types of foods I had perasattu, sambhar edli, sambhar rice, sweet pongal I loved that food here must try highly recommended for those who love andra foods

At Waltair main road near Dutt island, this restaurant is popular among locals as well as tourists for their Andhra style tiffins. There is no dedicated parking space. The ambience is pretty basic and simple. Indoor seating area has hints of minimalism. We had sponge dosas and uttapams in mind, but had to settle for special meals as we went in the afternoon and during lunchtime only meals were available. Self service is something that you have to definitely keep in mind. The staffs are somewhat helpful. The preparations were ok-ok type and saltiness and spice levels both were on the higher side. To be frank, nothing was actually special about that special meal. Anyway, this is an opinion based only on meal. I can’t comment on their breakfast options. Overall verdict- won’t mind skipping.

Visited this place after being referred to by a local. The place is quite popular, and as expected, it was crowded and had to wait for sometime for my term. There is self service here. The prices were not very high. Tried the Masala Dosa and Sponge Kharam Dosa. The Sponge dosa was bitter in taste, probably because the batter was not fresh. Fell sick terribly the next day after eating it. Will not dare to visit this place again.

I visited this restaurant for dinner with family... We ordered ravva masala dosa, nimma uppindi, pesara punugulu & sweet pongal... All tasted good except sweet pongal which has too much sweet and i couldn't eat full cup... Would definitely recommend to visit this restaurant for tiffins..

This venkatadri vantillu is one of the famous restaurants for south indian tiffins in Visakhapatnam. This restaurant was hyped by many celebrities like SS rajamouli about the taste of food here. When I visited this restaurant, the crowd was less but heard the place was crowded during peak hours.I ordered the famous sponge dosa and idli here. Sponge dosa was nice and delicious and idli was good too. The chutneys served with these two items are tasty. The location is prominent and the ambience was ok as it is a budget friendly restaurant. The hygiene was ok and the cleanliness is fine. Parking space was plenty for two wheelers. Quality and quantity of the food is good 👍

Nestled along the picturesque NTR Beach Road in Sagar Nagar, The Anchor is a charming beach-view restaurant that captures the essence of coastal dining in Vizag. With its unique boat-like ambiance and wooden interiors surrounded by swaying palms, it offers a delightful escape for food lovers. This cozy eatery, ingeniously constructed from containers yet fully air-conditioned for comfort, boasts stunning views thanks to its glass installations.
Small, but amazingly built restaurant that serves great food. The restaurant is made out of containers. However, it is well air conditioned so that we don't feel any sort of heat. The view from the seating area is really good. They have installed glass view by which the container feels well ventilated. The food that we have ordered was really good and was served on time. The place was clean and the food served was tasty. They ensured that they provided good clean plates and cutlery. They also ensured that plates were cleared off on time. Amazing experience and a must visit.

The foods is pretty standard and the service is very bad. The stars were just for the ambience!! The waiting staff are aloof and the menu though big most items are not available. Now if they say fresh lime soda is not available then u can imagine the service!

Ambience is good..total restaurant concept is new experience for me..i have ordered prawn fry..i think it is their signature dish ..chef nailed it. .if ur ok with the humid climate while eating food it is ok to eat out side.

This was the first time I visited this restaurant and previously I heard very positive feedback on the restaurant from my family members and friends however I have visited this place in this difficult times to taste the food from this place. I should say the taste of each dish is fabulous and we can give 5/5 for the food. The reason for giving a 4 star is due to the delay in service. Almost 30 min waiting time for each dish we ordered which has eaten our most of the time luckily had not enough work for the rest of the day hence managed the delay time however overall experience satisfied.

Decent place to hangout with friends. Ordered Paneer Mongolian(must try), Chinese soft Noodles(we dint like it, smelly), Egg fired rice(goodone) and Tomato cachew curry(must try). Ambience is good and service is fast. Eventhough a bit far from city, good place to hop in after your beach drive.

Bar
Upon entering Upper Deck Bar & Lounge, I was immediately struck by the cool ambiance, although the air-conditioning was a bit too chilly for comfort. The food, however, was absolutely fantastic. As a vegetarian, I tried the broccoli, verdure pizza and penne arabiata and found them to be bursting with delightful flavors. The staff's attention to detail was top-notch, but there were some delays in food preparation that tested my patience.
It is the lounge bar of Radisson Blu hotel. Ambience , layout and decor is just wow. The outside sitout will captivate you with the view of ocean and greenery around. Being a bar lounge, menu is more of starter kinds. For proper meal, other in-house restaurants can be visited. Offers on liquor can be checked up with the lounge before visiting, also paying/advance booking through District/Zomato will save another 10 to 20 percent. They don't levy service charge. Service is good, staff is warm and courteous. Being 5 star hotel, menu is expensive but worth visiting if one can afford. Washrooms are befitting a five star hotel. Parking is available inside hotel premises. Overall a good experience.

The UpperDeck is a hidden treasure, where I am consistently captivated by its exquisite ambiance, divine cuisine, and exceptional service. Each visit feels like stepping into a world where time slips away effortlessly, enveloping me in a truly magnificent experience that surpasses every penny spent. The enchanting music adds an ethereal touch, heightening the wow factor with each entrance. A heartfelt gratitude to Pavan Gopal, Anne, and Siddika Parvin for making my evening truly memorable! A special mention to Swifty, whose rendition of one of my favorite songs was absolutely stellar! Thank you, each and every one, for an unforgettable experience!

Service is good excellent mocktail made by Gowtham and Prasad and the hospital given by Pavan is very nice overall the view is very good you must try the mocktail in upper deck
Rosy D — Google review
My first impression on entering the lounge was WOW especially because the ambience was pretty cool, but the air-conditioning was too uncomfortably cold. Now coming to the food - it’s just splendid. As vegetarian we ordered for broccoli, verdure pizza and penne arabiata and were totally overwhelmed by the flavours. The attention of the staff is numero Uno but the timeline for food prepration is long and that leads to impatience. In late evenings, it's idle to sit in the open area and have a quality family time as indoor can get loud and very cold.

Sweet India, situated on the main road of Thagarapuvalasa, offers a wide variety of sweets and bakery items. Although it lacks seating facilities, it is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. While some customers found the home-delivered pani puri unsatisfactory, others enjoyed dining in and praised dishes like onion kachori and veg Manchuria.
One of the best place to have chat, pani puri, bhel puri, noodles, and pav baji. The items are very tasty, fresh and place is maintained near and hygiene. The serving is good. Prices are reasonable. Here we can get some traditional sweets, bakery items etc.. Mainly we visit for having pav baji, panipuri, chat , ghee jalebi is yummy 😋😋. Parking is little bit difficult as the area is busy ses4 Overall good place to have some evening food and enjoy with family and friends 👍👍

Ordering pani puri for home delivery was a mistake. Didn’t like the aloo stuffing and the pani was too spicy. Most of the puris were broken. Samosa chat and kachori chat were just okay. May be not preferable order for Swiggy. Eat’em hot there if possible. Latest visit: Dine in, much better experience with pani puri. We liked it this time. Onion kachori was good too. Veg Manchuria was tasty but super spicy. Let them know on the spiciness level before hand. We asked for rasmalai which was in the Milkshake menu but we were given Badam Milk, not sure what happened there. It was okay.

Pure Vegetarian food🤤, the taste could have been much more better, maybe the food being served hot made me feel no taste, this place could have been better if there is any place for the customers to sit and feast.

Transportation in Visakhapatnam

Getting around Visakhapatnam can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Visakhapatnam international airport

Airport
Transportation service
Visakhapatnam International Airport, located just 8.8 km from the heart of Vizag city, serves as a vital gateway for travelers exploring this vibrant region. With both domestic and international flights available, it caters to tourists from across the globe. The airport is conveniently accessible via pre-paid taxis or shared cabs, ensuring a smooth transition into your adventure.
I recently traveled through Visakhapatnam International Airport, and I found it to be very convenient and well managed. It may not be as big as some metro city airports, but that actually makes it easy to move around without any confusion. The check-in counters were neatly arranged, and the process was completed quickly. Security checks were also smooth, and the staff members were polite and professional in guiding passengers. What I really appreciated was the cleanliness of the airport. The seating areas, floors, and washrooms were well maintained, and I could see staff regularly ensuring hygiene. Even when there were multiple flights operating, the terminal didn’t feel overcrowded. It gave me a very organized and peaceful experience before boarding my flight. There are also a few good options for snacks and drinks inside the terminal. I stopped by a food outlet for a quick refreshment, and the service was fast. Though the airport is small, it still has enough facilities to make the wait comfortable. The signboards are clear, and first-time travelers won’t face any trouble finding their way. One of the best parts of this airport is the location. It is very close to the city, and reaching here by cab or auto was simple and quick. Parking was also well managed. Overall, Visakhapatnam Airport is clean, efficient, and traveler-friendly. It may be smaller than metro airports, but it offers a smooth and stress-free travel experience..

I had a really good experience traveling through Vizag Airport for a domestic flight. The layout is straightforward and easy to find your way around, even if it’s your first time there. From check-in to boarding, everything went smoothly. The staff at the helpdesk were friendly and gave clear directions whenever I needed help. The airport is compact but clean and well-maintained, making it comfortable without feeling crowded. Overall, it was a hassle-free and pleasant experience.
Nikshep K — Google review
This airport is small and clean. Relaxing area is very compact and comfortable. Security officers are nice and easy to on boarding process. Airport is clean, green, and enjoyable Great place for photography lovers Offers everything one might need; well-organized and clutter-free Natural design gives a special feel Proud of the country for such artistic achievement Memorable first-time visit; leaves a lasting impression I recently visited this airport for the first time, and I was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. Though it’s a small airport, it is incredibly clean, green, and well-maintained, creating a refreshing and enjoyable atmosphere right from the moment you arrive. The airport offers a natural and modern design that gives it a unique and calming vibe, making it stand out from many others I’ve seen. The relaxing area, though compact, is thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. It’s a great spot to unwind before a flight. The entire space feels clutter-free and well-organized, ensuring that the travel process remains smooth and stress-free. I was especially pleased with the airport staff – the security officers were polite and helpful, making the onboarding process easy and efficient. It’s always a relief to see such professionalism at a busy place like an airport. Photography lovers will especially enjoy this place, as there are many aesthetically pleasing corners that capture the blend of nature and modern infrastructure beautifully. The effort to include greenery and maintain cleanliness is truly commendable. Overall, my first visit here was memorable and left a lasting impression. It makes me proud to see such artistic and functional infrastructure in the country. Highly recommended for all travelers!
Rishabh R — Google review
Visakhapatnam International Airport (VTZ) offers a generally pleasant experience, largely due to its good ambiance. The airport is often praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and the calm atmosphere, which can be a welcome change from busier metropolitan airports. The scenic views during take-off and landing, especially with the surrounding mountains, add to the overall appeal. However, there's certainly room for improvement, particularly concerning the check-in process. While self-check-in machines are available, the manual counters can sometimes lead to longer wait times or a less streamlined experience. Passengers might find the check-in facility could be more efficient to truly match the otherwise positive environment. Regarding amenities, the airport provides the basics such as food courts, snack bars, duty-free shops, and lounges. However, the options available can feel somewhat limited, especially compared to larger international airports. Travelers looking for a wider variety of dining choices or extensive retail therapy might find themselves wanting more. In summary, Vizag Airport is a clean and generally well-maintained facility with a nice ambiance, making for a relatively comfortable wait. With some enhancements to the check-in efficiency and a greater diversity in amenities, it could significantly elevate the overall passenger experience.

Very small airport but neatle maintained. They have a internal transfer for Domestic arrivals to Checkin counters. Car parking and taxi pickup point is close by. ATM available outside. Security check is little small and congested. Gates 1 and 2 have very less space however first floor plenty of space to sit. Restaurant, coffe shop, lounge and SPA available at Gates.

Kartwheel I — Google review
Visakhapatnam Airport – Clean, Efficient, but Transport Needs Improvement Visakhapatnam Airport (VTZ) is a well-maintained, clean, and efficiently run airport that handles both domestic and limited international flights. Located about 12 km from the city center, it provides a smooth travel experience for both arrivals and departures. 🛫 Airport Facilities & Cleanliness The airport is tidy, organized, and generally less chaotic than many other major airports. Security and check-in are streamlined, and the terminal is kept in excellent condition, with adequate seating, washrooms, and signage. It's neither too big nor too crowded — making it quite comfortable for travelers. 🚕 Transportation – A Mixed Bag One major drawback is transport connectivity. While government-run buses or transport options are limited or inconsistent, the local auto-rickshaws and private cars tend to overcharge, especially if you're a first-time visitor or arriving during odd hours. 🚙 Private Car & Rickshaw Fare Alert Compared to old meter-based autos or app-based rides like Ola and Uber, the fares at the airport are often excessive, with drivers quoting fixed prices much higher than what you'd expect for the distance. Unfortunately, Uber and Ola availability is patchy here — sometimes there are long waits, and at times, there’s no availability at all. 📍 Pro Tips: If possible, pre-book a trusted cab or arrange a pickup in advance. Bargain or check fare estimates before accepting local transport offers. Consider stepping a bit outside the airport to find better transport rates. ✈️ Final Thoughts Vizag Airport itself is a pleasure to use — clean, well-managed, and traveler-friendly. However, the ground transport needs improvement, especially for those expecting app-based convenience or fair pricing. A little planning ahead can make your arrival smoother and less stressful.
ADITYA S — Google review
One of the very calm and quiet airport. Well maintained and having all the basic amenities. Security staff are very helpful. No rush . Passengers are very calm and quiet unlike Delhi where the fellow passengers are not caring and helpful. Visakhapatnam is growing very fast now and the Airport will also grow.
