Trinidad is a town in central Cuba, known for its colonial old town and cobblestone streets. Its neo-baroque main square, Plaza Mayor, is surrounded by grand colonial buildings. Museo Romántico, in the restored Palacio Brunet mansion, and Museo de Arquitectura Colonial display relics from the town’s sugar-producing era. Casa de la Música is a renowned live music venue with two locations in Miramar and Centro, although the former is more popular. It features diverse music genres, from big bands to reggaeton and occasional electronica. The party typically starts around 11 pm. In Trinidad, Casa de la Música is a beloved alfresco venue near Plaza Mayor, offering lively atmosphere, great music, and occasional salsa dancing in the back courtyard.
The music, the rum, the salsa, the passion drives this location and this town. The town has a beautiful rule where vehicles are not allowed in the old part of the city. There are an abundance of dance classes offered around the town which have walk in availability. We happened to arrive into the town during a festival period and we joined in with the festivities where the locals made us feel more than welcome. I have nothing but fond memories of this location and I highly recommend everyone to go here and enjoy the free spirit of life here.

Definitely the place to end up after dinner, live music 🎶 is good, drink cheap, quality goes with the price,. though. You might dance if you feel so! At midnight you can go inside which it's really nice too, all night are not equal but you can have fun 🕺
Joël A — Google review
A piece of CUBA As much as touristy but it captures a bit of Cuban soul or what we think as tourist it is. Get in for a drink, listen to some music and enjoy the atmosphere. You will feel the relaxing milieu and you can hear the rhythms of Havana, Buena Vista Social Club.. I recommend to try the Rum cocktails with sugar cane...
David Z — Google review
Good spot to catch live music with a lively atmosphere. Small entry fee, but drinks are a good price. Table service. Get there early if you want a decent table/view. Music starts at 10pm usually.
Patrick G — Google review
Half the cocktail for double the price. Never brought the change. It’s not about the actual money, it’s about sitting in a tourist trap and knowing you’re part of the performance.
Bart — Google review
Must-see place when in Trinidad. Head there in the evenings to see live salsa dancing on a stage. The entrance costs 1 CUC but then the drinks are cheaper than in other bars nearby.
Damián G — Google review
Must visit in Trinidad! Amazing vibe. Music, life, dance! A lot of local’s enjoying this place as well.
Valentina G — Google review
Nice place, but nothing spectacular. We attended good live music, but we also heard better quality music in Cuba. Drink prices are, compared to the rest of Cuba, quite high. I'm glad I visited this place, but I'm not blown away.

Palacio Cantero is a 19th-century colonial mansion in Trinidad, now home to the Museo Historico Municipal. The museum showcases the city's history through antiques, frescoes, maps, and documents. It delves into Trinidad's past including its slave tradition and UNESCO World Heritage site designation. The Neoclassical building offers panoramic views of the city from its tower and provides insight into colonial architecture.
This museum is great. The belvedere a the top is a must !!! You have a breathtaking overview of the city. I highly recommend it :-)
Jessica S — Google review
Great view point over the city. Fantastic views. Easy stairs, but not suitable for anyone over 100 kg (200lb) as it tight. The inside of the building gives very good insight about colonial architecture. The small gift shop is not really good. In my personal opinion would benefit from a renovation to the staircase so its easier accessible so more people could benefit from it.
David Z — Google review
Nice historical house in the centre of Trinidad. Not much to see in the house itself, but climbing up the tower gives you a great view of the city.
Chan S — Google review
A must see in Trinidad and in Cuba! local guides are very kind but only speak spanish. theycan provide a lot of information about the house that you can't find anywhere. Go on the top of the tower!

interesting museum with a beautiful view around the city

Good views, but pricey. The way up to the tower is also steep and tiny. So bigger size people, and / or old people may have troubles getting up to the top. But the view are definitely worth it!

Sights & Landmarks
Plaza Mayor is the heart of Trinidad, surrounded by historic buildings and landmarks. The square is adorned with a marble sculpture and benches, making it a perfect spot to take in the city's charm. Nearby attractions include La Parroquial Mayor church, Palacio Brunet housing Museo Romantico, Sanchez Iznaga mansion hosting Museo de Arquitectura, and Palacio Ortiz gallery.
Plaza Mayor in Trinidad, Cuba, is a beautifully preserved colonial square that serves as the focal point of this historic city. Surrounded by grand colonial buildings, cobblestone streets, and lush gardens, it reflects the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Trinidad. The square is framed by significant landmarks, including the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Palacio Brunet, which houses the Romantic Museum. This central plaza is not just a historical site but also a lively gathering place where locals and tourists mingle. The charm of the Plaza Mayor lies in its ability to transport visitors back in time, offering a glimpse into the opulence of Trinidad's past while being a vibrant part of its present. With its picturesque surroundings and vibrant atmosphere, Plaza Mayor is a must-visit destination that captures the essence of Trinidad.
Nick M — Google review
During our stay in Trinidad this was by far one of our most favourite places. Surrounding the square there are a number of historical sites including a couple of churches. Leading up to the square are the numerous cobblestone streets and of course it would not be Cuba with some old and antique cars everywhere. The Plaza Mayor is one of the most popular places because it is one of the few were Wi-Fi connection and Internet is possible. The crowds that gather are lovely to watch and just sitting and enjoying the ambience is probably all you need to do.

A beautiful small town painted with vibrant colors that bring the clear of the historic ambience. Stonewalls paved with stone and the carriage return to rich Cuban history. The Cuban music rhythms are spreading everywhere like the Cuban smile and courtesy.

The Museo Romántico, housed in the Palacio Brunet dating back to 1740, is a captivating museum that offers visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Spanish nobility during the colonial era. Established in 1974, it showcases an array of 19th-century antiques including furniture, porcelain, silverware, and decorative art.
Typical architecture of the period. With the tour you can understand on the one hand the aesthetics and perceptions of Cuban society, on the other hand perceive the overwhelming difference of social classes. Anyway, it's worth a look

Valle de los Ingenios, also known as the Valley of Sugar Mills, is a historical site located approximately 15 km from Trinidad. It consists of three interconnected valleys - San Luis, Santa Rosa, and Meyer - which were once the center of sugar production from the 17th to the 19th century. Visitors can explore El Mirador, a panoramic point offering breathtaking views of the valley, Trinidad, and the Caribbean Sea.
Impressive 7 level cave, presumably the 2nd biggest in Central America. The park provides well maintained safety helmets and head torches, as well a guided 3-4 hours hike to the cave and exploration of it inside levels. Beautiful panoramic view of the 'Valley of the Wise'.

San José is a bustling restaurant in Trinidad, known for its affordable prices and popular among tourists. Despite being labeled as a local spot, it's frequented by many visitors. The menu offers a variety of options including pastas and pizzas, providing a break from traditional Cuban cuisine. With fast and friendly service, fair prices, and delicious food, it's highly recommended by both tourists and locals alike.
Well, the ambiance is very calm and soothing. They have a rooftop bar and seating area where music is often performed. The service is really good. They pay attention to detail. However as far vegetarian options …. These are very limited. You may get rice, cheese and some cabbage waiters with carrots. That’s it. And maybe soupy beans. The lobster sale is quite good. All in all a decent spot to have a meal.

After a 7 hour journey to get to Trinidad we asked our Casa,s host to recommend a restaurant Wow really glad Jose sent us here with directions Well worth a visit Choice of air conditioning on the ground floor an open plan 1st floor or roof top bar Food was very very good but the portions were a bit large for myself and my wife, seemed a bit of a waste to leave almost half a portion Waiter was really good and helped with the selection I cannot recommend this place enough Please try when your in Trinidad

One of the best restaurants I have had a chance to visit in Trinidad, even in general one of the most satisfying I have visited during my trips in Cuba . Food was very decent with big portions, service was very friendly, efficient and professional. Cocktails were good . Thanks for a great evening!
Piotr L — Google review
We celebrate special occasion and we got a recommendation about this restaurant. The dishes was pretty good with big portions. But the main problem was the wine. We decided to order a bottle, I am don’t have great wine knowledge but I pointed at the menu for middle price wine. The waiter confirmed and bring a bottle and show it to me. I validate again and ask if it’s this wine (“cineza” or something similar). When we got the bill I found that was the most expensive wine in the list!! I understand that mistakes happened, but the price was double then what I chose. Only after our local guide intervened, the manager was accepted to reduce the price by 30%. Another thing, there is 30% off the price menu for locals, but I had to pay full price even for our local guide food. In the end, the food was good and the portions was pretty big but we left with a bad taste

Aesthetically a cut above the rest of Trinidad’s multitude of homogenous restaurants. Spacious, with the option of either indoor, air conditioned or terraced dining. San Jose’s also has a generator, which may not sound like much, but when one of Trinidad’s infrequently frequent power cuts comes you will be thanking your lucky electrons. I don’t mean to be exclusive, but this review is aimed predominantly at travelling vegans. For what it’s worth, other people’s food did look good and the portions were generous. We ordered mixed vegetables, white rice and sweet potato fries. Combining the former two with some salt and pepper worked a treat. The rice was surprisingly excellent. The sweet potato fries were filling, but I’ll leave it at that. It was a little tricky to discern if Cuba’s variety of sweet potato is especially dense, or if they were not made fresh. Let’s give San Jose’s the benefit of the doubt and say the former. All this came to CUP 450, which is exceedingly reasonable for the generous portions. TL;DR: you should go here.

We had hoped that this restaurant would be our most memorable experience in Trinidad, even if it was a bit expensive, which wouldn't have been a problem if the food had been good. The food was decent but clearly lacked refinement. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, and there were only tourists, which was the case in most restaurants nearby. Overall, we would have left feeling neither disappointed nor satisfied, but we were in for one last surprise. We realized they had raised the prices once we went to pay the bill. That was totally scandalous, and they all acted as if we were the ones at fault. It felt like a well-planned scheme that was part of their business practices. It's a shame.
Meli Y — Google review
What a fantastic atmospheric place! we chose a table downstairs but after a noisey pump truck sat on the road for ages just outside we asked to be moved but the waitress said no, I assume because we were then assigned to her and the restaurant was pretty empty. She did come over when the food had arrived and offered to move us but it was too late by then. The food was amazing, I had lobster. Above average prices but worth it. Also... they have an upstairs terrace with a live band but we weren't allowed to swap tables lol

Conspiradores is a renowned restaurant situated in a colonial house in the historical center of Trinidad, Cuba. The cheerful yellow building adorned with bougainvillea offers a pleasant terrace for drinks and features a small art gallery selling souvenirs. Known for its delicious seafood, the restaurant also boasts great service and an inviting ambiance. Visitors can enjoy generous portions of well-prepared dishes such as Caribbean pasta filled with prawns, shrimps, and crabs.
The Los Conspiradores Restaurant in Cuba is a must-visit restaurant in Trinidad if you’re after good, delicious food in town! Everything we ordered was so delicious, it’s unbelievable. The drinks were wonderfully presented. The dishes were perfectly seasoned and the ingredients very fresh, especially the seafood. The wait staff were all very attentive, courteous and friendly, serving us food with a smile. Service was prompt and efficient. Camilla and Santiago were very attentive to us, making sure we were all happy and comfortable. The local singing duo sang good Cuban songs that added to the festive, relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent!

I cannot recommend Los Conspiradores highly enough. The service was amazing & we received a warm welcome from Amanda who was an excellent host, so friendly with a big smile & she provided excellent customer service. We had lobster & a lamb dish & I can honestly say it was the best, it was so tasty & very high quality & very reasonably price. Don't hesitate to try. The food he was amazing! I had been in Cuba for almost a week and hadn’t had any outstanding food, however when I came here today I had a delicious tenderloin and an amazing lemonade. My peers had shrimps, lamb and spaghetti all with a small taste of Cuba. Honestly an amazing experience.

This is my second dining experience at Los Conspiradores in 3 days. On Friday evening we ordered the stuffed plantain cups and seafood skewers (lobster, shrimps, fish and colourful array of veggies). Excellent presentation and most pleasing to the palate! This is an intimate dining terrace shaded by a bougainvillea tree. Prime corner location spot on Plaza Mayor next to 'The Steps' and it's night life salsa bars. Trinidad de Cuba at its best. The staff here deliver excellent service - from the moment you're seated at your table, drinks orders allow you time to go through and get assistance with the menu. The food is freshly prepared. Oh, and lest I forget, like so many places on this fascinating island, Cuban musicians serenade while you dine. Los Conspiradores is highly recommended.

A wonderful local restaurant in the heart of Trinidad! Sat upstairs on the balcony and the views were immaculate. Service was prompt (in Cuba everything moves slowly so expect a little wait). Restaurant Bar La Redaccion is a unique and modern eatery located in a historical mansion that was once the headquarters of the local newspaper 'El Liberal.' The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options ranging from Cuban dishes to international flavors like hummus, vegan burgers, and chocolate chicken curry. With an emphasis on quality ingredients and simplicity, this spot caters to various dietary preferences including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian.
Delicious food - the best vegan dishes I ate in Cuba (guacamole, rice with vegetables), fresh lemonade, extensive list of cocktails, beautiful interior and friendly waiters (speaking English fluently). Easy way to make an order by marking items on the menu. I truly recommend this place.

A really nice restaurant with good cuisine and service. Prices for main entry are about 10-15 CUC. My fish was fresh but quite dry. My wife's lamb was exqusite though. Oh, and the brownie... fantastic :)

Without question the best restaurant in Cuba: an excellent choice of tasty and well presented food served by attentive staff in a beautiful colonial building. You're given two disposable menus when you arrive - one for food, the other for drinks. You can write quantities next to the items you wish to order for your table. These are recorded by the waiting staff and used to calculate your bill at the end of the meal. I can recommend the fried malangas - crispy to the crunch, a bit like potato croquettes. For mains, the chicken chocolate curry is excellent and remains savoury with the depth of flavours. The ice cream here is very good too if you're looking for a dessert option. The staff speak English and are some of the best waiting staff we came across in an affordable (for tourists) restaurant. They really make the effort to look after you which is refreshing in Cuba. There is a charm to the place with the decor and printed material designed to mimic a former printing press. This is made apparent in the quirky titling of the menu. In closing, a visit to Trinidad is not complete without a meal here. Highly recommended!

Cubas food is everything but tempeting and delicious (in general). Foten you get fish/chicken with rice, thats it. This resturant though tries to be a hipster restaurant with high quality professional food, and succeeds! This is by far the best food I have eaten in all my 19 days of being here. The interior is from the colonial era and feels very authentic. I ordered some starters and a Caribbean bread filled with pulled pork and other vegetables. It was delicious! It took 1 hour before the food came though because the hole restaurant was completely full. BE IN TIME! A queue quickly starts outside to come in so be here 18:30 when the restaurant opens! We booked a table for 18:30 but came late so we ended up being there 18:50 and we missed our reservation. Then we waited til 20:15 to come in. The queuing system was very confusing and he told us that he would pick us up when the table was ready but he didn’t do it so it was very frustrating. The service wasn’t so good either for us. We was tired and hungry and the starter didn’t show up until 30/45 minutes. Other table seems to have better waiters then us also so we was a bit unlucky with that. I really recommend this place to eat on if you miss the typical restaurant and food at restaurants at home. It’s a great concept with the typewriter theme. We got unlucky with getting a table but it’s easy to avoid that problem!

A really unique restaurant in Trinidad, with an innovative ordering style, attentive service, excellent cocktails and even better food! A must visit if you are in the area - I would highly recommend the lamb curry special as it was divine! The stylistic use of old periodicals really adds to the atmosphere and the bathroom is bigger than my flat. It is also worth noting that you can pay in US dollars and Euros, and will receive a 10% discount on your bill if you choose to do so.

Rooftop Terrace Bar-Restaurant Muñoz Tapas offers a serene atmosphere and excellent service. The staff is friendly, warm, and goes above and beyond to provide information and assistance. The owner is accommodating and the food is presented nicely, delicious, and served warm. Visitors can enjoy refreshing drinks like the Pineapple juice slushy while taking in the great views from the rooftop terrace.
First the staff. They are absolutely wonderful and kind. Also extremely professional. Alone the staff would make this 5 stars. But then add the amazing food. We went with the Tapas plate along with a side of the honey plantain chips. Absolutely wonderful food and beautifully presented. We had visited this restaurant last year and the food service and quality is as good now as it was then. Definitely a must stop if you are visiting beautiful Trinidad, Cuba.
Peter L — Google review
We chose this restaurant based on the high ratings, but honestly, in Trinidad, that's not a reliable indicator: 80% of restaurants have a 4.9 rating, as if it were a village of gourmet chefs... on google. We turned a blind eye to the prices, which are much higher compared to other places around. We ordered the croquettes: edible, but way too greasy, and to make it worse, topped with mayonnaise. I noticed they use sauces everywhere to "decorate" the dishes, but good food doesn't need to be dressed up. Trusting the reviews once again, I ordered the lobster and vegetable burrito — big mistake. It turned out to be a stew of cabbage with a few pieces of lobster of questionable freshness and an unpleasant taste. I had imagined a real burrito with rice and beans... wishful thinking. Honestly, whoever recommended this dish in the reviews — have you ever actually eaten good food? Next to us, another table ordered lobsters and they were clearly disappointed as well. Please, don't expect Mediterranean-style lobster here — the price alone should be a warning. Even the tomatoes were sour. In short, another huge disappointment!

One evening, I decided to dine late and ended up at Café Adita, a pricey establishment where I chose to indulge and pay for the entire bill. We ordered one beer each, an appetizer, and two main courses for a total of 38 CUC. Although Café Adita is not classified as expensive, their prices are higher than other similar establishments. However, they make up for it by serving generous portions of food. The coffee lacked flavor but their juices were excellent.
We had dinnner and lunch here a few times during our Trinidad stay. A great place, well located and we enjoyed the atmorphere and food. Nice views to the cobblestone streets below from the top dining floor. Recommend highly.

A lovely Cafe in Trinidad with the quirky vibes that Trinidad has to offer with ceiling fans and hooked lamb shanks. Would really recommend their milkshakes. Unfortunately a lot of platters weren't available so ended up having a burger. They specialise in pizza and pasta if you are looking to have something different. They also had an assortment of doughnuts.

As a vegetarian, I haven’t tried the food here, especially that they keep repeating this video on their screens, slicing a pork thigh. But I will definitely come again for their amazing cappuccino and good location and maybe a Pizza, and the fact that they do not harass you all the time to order something more, like how they do in other restaurants in Cuba! No wonder it’s the most full restaurant in Trinidad!

I have visited Adita Cafe several times during trips to Trinidad over the last four years. While dining experiences in Cuba can sometimes be hit or miss, I know I can trust Adita as a reliable place, both for food and excellent service. They have an extensive menu that would appeal to anyone, but I especially recommend their pizzas. The cocktails and desserts and great as well. On my most recent trip Grether has been my server twice and she is very lovely and attentive. But from what I have experienced in the past and observe, all of the staff are great. They also appear to genuinely enjoy providing good service and working together. Also - free wifi is a bonus (when its working, but hey, that's Cuba! lol). Live music in the evenings. Nothing but positive things to say about this place!

Great restaurant choice in Trinidad. Came to have a drink and a bite to eat and it exceeded my expectations. I shared the lemon risotto with shrimp and the portion was large to share. I will be back again one day!

Really nice restaurant with a good selection of different meals to try. Live music and friendly staff. Visited twice in my four night stay in Trinidad whilst in Cuba from the UK. I would say this is the nicest food I had in Trinidad. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Excellent Italian cuisines! Pizzas are yummmy😋 desserts are worth trying. It is definitely not the cheapest place in Trinidad, but it has a very good service, friendly stuff, clean open kitchen. The food and cocktails are delicious, good location. Thus, the fish they use is not fresh but frozen.
