La Palapita de los Tamales is a charming, family-owned restaurant near Candelaria church in Valladolid. The cozy dining room with big wooden tables leads to an outdoor terrace, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The menu features authentic Yucatan recipes, including the flavorful chachacua tamales and refreshing chaya-infused lemonade. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a mix of lighting and nature, offering both indoor and garden seating options.
We just had dinner at “La palomitas de los tamales” and I couldn’t be more satisfied! Great food, great atmosphere and even better service. We were waited by Carina that makes us feel like home, really lovely, funny and professional. If you’re heading to this place ask to be sever by her. Recommended for sure!

The place is adorable, baldosas flooring, ambiance is so pretty, very local style, food is incredibly good and flavorful, the best tamales so far, plenty of drinks to choose. 💯% recommend, Carlos, our waiter, super nice.

Food was tasty, good flavors, however, service was so slow and so bad that it made the experience of the food bad. They were also out of all chicken, so menu became limited. Their empanadas were good tho compared to other places. Flavors in all the dishes were good, just poor service, likely due to the interesting restaurant layout.

A Magical Place in Valladolid Upon arrival the reception was very attentive, the very smiling waitress gave us some recommendations of what to drink and eat, we chose some enchiladas and salbutes that were very delicious, the surprise of some courtesy tequilas and the way she gave us the explanation of how it is done was even more amazing, without a doubt we would return, a very beautiful place but the waitress was exceptional. Thank you very much for this beautiful experience.

Instantly upon entering the well curated atmosphere starts your experience off in style! Style firmly rooted in traditional aesthetics. The warm and friendly staff received us graciously and let us sit wherever we liked and we chose a spot in the beautiful back courtyard. Our server, KARINA, was so sweet and knowledgeable she not only did her job beautifully, but she felt like an instant friend! The food was a mind blowing balance of flavor and texture! We ordered more than we could possibly eat so we could try a variety of these superbly crafted traditional dishes! Portion size was excellent! And pricing is a very good value!

We had dinner here twice and the food was truly delicious. The menu includes typical Yucatecan dishes and it’s also suitable for those with intolerances (in my case gluten and lactose), as you can choose dishes made with corn flour and without dairy. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the service.

the tamal was very unique and different than the typical tamales you get in other parts of mexico. there is a vegetarian one with egg in it. it was yummy! i also got the chaya drink with lemon - super refreshing. the restaurant had open doors and no AC so it was a bit warm.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Valladolid, Agustín Gusto stands as a charming culinary haven right across from the picturesque Francisco Canton Park. This inviting eatery offers a delightful family-friendly ambiance and stunning views of the San Servacio Church, making it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers alike. The menu is a celebration of Mexico's rich flavors, featuring an enticing array of dishes that highlight traditional ingredients and recipes.
Nicely located right in the Valladolid center with views of the center. Food was excellent. I did forget to take updated pictures of the menu so I can say there is a page or two missing from the currently posted pictures. I don’t have the name of the dish but there is a sampler dish pictured on this review that gives 4 different dishes that are traditional Yucatán cuisine. They were all excellent. I did see a few dishes on the menu that offered crickets I think it was as part of the entree? Interesting to see for those willing to try it

Great food, great service and great view! We would come back 🙂 a Christmas parade went past our window while we were eating. It’s very central and has a good menu with a variety of food. It was nice to try dishes from the Yucatán. The chaya juice was delicious.

Wow, what an absolutely outstanding meal. My husband and I have been blown away by Yucatan cuisine, and this it the most shining example thus far. I can speak to the lime soup, sangria, and ribeye, and can truly say my husband got very sick of hearing me rave about the meal, especially the ribeye. Absolutely delicious meal, one of the best I've had in a long time, with pleasant service and a very cool atmosphere. If this is the only place you eat while in town, you likely won't regret it.

The best food here was the chicken and lime soup. The restaurant was gorgeous, which really raised my expectations for the food. However, the horchata was mid and didn’t taste authentic. It was like syrupy and the color of the milk.

I loved this place. The Undocumented burger was more than enough. They comped my dessert for my birthday, which was very nice of them. Ingrid and Alan gave great service, and I had a view of the park while I enjoyed a nice cappuccino. Thank you for the great experience.

This restaurant is in one of the best locations in Valladolid. We went on a lazy Saturday afternoon desperately looking for a nice break with a TV to watch a soccer World Cup game. The hostess was the best and set the pool area TV for us! Cocktails and appetizers were delicious. The beverages tasted great and looked elegant. The plating of the appetizer was neat and sauces delicious. Definitely a bar to visit and a restaurant to enjoy.

We loved our food. What made it so special is the people who work here, I believe the manager’s name was Luis, and he took good care of us even suggesting a special dinner plate for my dad.

Fantastic hideaway close to town center (short safe walk). I had both breakfast and dinner. Cocktails were great. Very unique and charming. Hotel also has small clothing boutique that was busy. I also enjoyed the lobby / nice area in the cool

Stopped in on a rainy day for a late lunch and service was great! Food was delicious and the margaritas were awesome!! Definitely will come back to stay at this hotel. ☺️

Amazing meal - every plate incorporated traditional ingredients and had a different flavor. The plating and presentation were excellent as well. I was with my parents, who are pretty picky eaters, and they enjoyed every dish. Great service and ambience.

We had a wonderful evening at K’uxub! The food was amazing and the staff super friendly and attentive. Atocha was our waiter and he deserves more than a 5 star! Great service and delicious cocktails. Highly recommended - will be back on our next visit.

Food and drinks here are brilliant- great variety within Mexican cuisine, lovely atmosphere (and air con in restaurant!)

Incredible food, the best we had in Valladolid! The ingredients, execution and presentation are all absolutely top notch - and service is fast and attentive too! All the food is locally sourced and each plate is a modern take on a regional classic, with really impressive and refined flavor profiles. The kinda place and talent you’d pay $$$ for (and you would) in say NYC or SF. Wish you could see the gorgeous courtyard oasis from the street, the entrance really doesn’t do justice - but trust me, it’s beautiful!
Felicitas W — Google review
The restaurant is nice and the staff are friendly but the food was a bit overpriced for what it was. It looked lovely as they’d clearly spent time on presentation but some dishes were a little dry. If you have a couple of days in Valladolid I’d go but it’s not a must do. We were sat by the pool and the fountains were fairly loud, not enough to annoy us but enough that we noticed them rather than them being relaxing.

Amazing food, modern and elegant, but with respect for its Mexican roots. Great cocktails as well and our host Alejandro was absolutely amazing. Also, the scenery is incredible and it is still very reasonably priced! Highly recommended!

Carnes Concepción Smoked Pork is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling through the region, especially if you're heading to Chichen Itza or Ek Balam. This charming spot offers an array of delicious smoked meats and cheeses that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The menu features a delightful family platter that's perfect for sharing, showcasing their standout items like succulent ribs and flavorful dark sausage.
Great spot for local smoked meat. The ribs were my favorite but the plate for 2 let's you sample everything. Lots of parking in the back and the smells are amazing. Will be back for sure!

I always stop and get cheese and meat. It's always delicious, the also sell beers, and have a Yucatán beer, it's a little expensive, 72 pesos. So if you want to try that, there's table and seat if you want to sit and eat, it's like a restaurant and have restroom 🚻 available. Staff always helpful in preparing the meat and cheese how I want.

The best traditional tacos I've had in Mexico. So dang good I wish my stomach was three times the size so I could keep eating. Have the 4 taco combination.

Stopped by here on the way to Ek Balam (TLDR also not worth it, but the cenote there was worth it). The meat is good, but nothing to write home about if you've ever had Texas bbq. Meat has good flavor and texture but overall was too dry. About $6 USD a meal. The sausage was supposed to be highlight. It's a quaint hole in the wall right off the main road. I don't regret going but wouldn't stop again. We had better food in Valladolid, but this was a cheap quick eat. Good service and nice family restaurant.

The degustation plater was filling even for 4 people. Good variety. Choriso so, so, but the pork and dark sausage were awesome. Bean soup as a starter. Visited because of the polish show where Robert Makłowicz reccomended the place 😅

This is my third visit to Carnes Concepcion and its always a pleasure. My favorite stop while visiting chichen itza. Always recommend the family platter if you have room. Everything on the menu is tasty 😎

This charming small town boasts a variety of restaurants dedicated to the art of "Ahumado," where you can indulge in mouthwatering flavors and tender textures. Having done BBQ tours in the U.S., we were excited to try the regional smoked meats. They were absolutely amazing. Excellent flavor, smoke, and tenderness. The food and service were excellent at a great price. Everything we tried was well balanced in flavor. This is destination stop. Worth driving to if you are in the region.

Amazing food, great location, friendly staff. We shared the 1/2 Platón Ahumados. Too much food for 2 people but it was delicious. Complimentary appetizers are to die for. Highly recommend
