Apollo Bay

Apollo Bay is an Australian town in southwestern Victoria. It's a stop on the Great Ocean Road, a driving route that winds along the coast, passing through the Great Otway National Park. The park covers rugged coastline, beaches and the mountains of the Otway Ranges. Waterfalls dot the park, including the 3 cascades of Triplet Falls. In town, the hilltop Marriners Lookout offers panoramic views over the ocean.

Lookouts
Marriner's Lookout is a must-visit spot along the Great Ocean Road, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Apollo Bay, the hinterland, and the ocean. It's a short ten-minute walk from the car park to reach this hilltop viewpoint. The lookout was generously donated by a private family for all to enjoy. The hike up is surrounded by beautiful trees and lush greenery, making it an enjoyable experience.
We did a one-day trip to Apollo Bay and discovered a must-visit spot—just a 10-minute walk along a small trail. It’s very kid-friendly for children over 4 years old, and for younger kids, parents can safely carry them. There is a slightly steep slope at the beginning, which may look challenging at first, but it’s manageable. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view—a wide open space with stunning scenery of the harbor and coastline.

Marriner’s Lookout is a popular vantage point which overlooks the Apollo Bay and the township. The lookout is constantly having streams of people making the short trek to the vantage point for the scenic views of the bay. Definitely a worthy lookout point, and a point for consideration during your Great Ocean Roadtrip.

The view here is simply breathtaking. A huge shout out to the friendly lady at the Apollo bay IGA supermarket who recommended us to come by! She mentioned that this is her favourite place in town so we checked it out. I went in August 2025 and the weather was amazing. Definitely recommend it. Please be mindful that this is a private property area and we should be respectful and considerate to the people who kindly share this area with us to take in such views

Less than a 10-minute mini “hike” from the car park leads to this wonderful viewpoint. The scenery during dusk is absolutely magical. Part of the path was muddy, likely from a nearby creek, so it is best to wear suitable shoes. We did not stay too long as my elderly companion waited before the muddy section. Totally worth checking out.

This lookout is an awesome spot to take in all of Apollo Bay from up high. It’s a bit tricky to find, and heads-up: no coaches or caravan trailers can make it up here. After parking, you need to go through a gate that you gotta close every time you pass through, which is a bit of a hassle. After that, you’re in for a 10-minute walk along a kinda creepy mountain trail—nothing too tough, but it’s got that eerie vibe. Once you get to the top, though, it’s totally worth it. The view of the ocean and Apollo Bay is absolutely stunning, like jaw-dropping gorgeous. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area, just be ready for the adventure to get there!

Beautiful spot. Easy walk and access, just a few minutes walk from parking spot. if not for the wind.. it’s a great picnic spot. Saw some sheeps, and an alpaca too.
Fauzi T — Google review
It’s about a 10-minute uphill climb to reach the viewpoint overlooking beautiful Apollo Bay. The incline is quite manageable, but the muddy trail can be a bit challenging at times. Still, it is absolutely worth the effort. The view from the top is breathtaking. The return route is all downhill, and there are few small stream along the way where you can rinse the mud off your shoes before finishing the hike.

Great spot for views over Apollo bay. I like it at sunset. Its a 5 min walk up hill from the car park. Worth the walk.

History Museums
Apollo Bay Museum, located on the Great Ocean Road, offers a glimpse into the rich history of Apollo Bay. Housed in buildings that were once used to connect undersea cables to Tasmania, this not-for-profit organization is run by volunteers and showcases a variety of artifacts and photographs from the region's past. Visitors can explore life in the small, isolated community before the construction of the Great Ocean Road in the 1800s.
Great for kids, grownups and anyone who loves a good story. Heaps of great stories and I ran out of energy after 90 min! Would definitely return. The staff are terrific and have all the answers 😍

What a wealth of knowledge and smiles the volunteers have! Doubly impressive given the variety and size of the collection on display. HIGHLY recommended for any avid learner.

Very interesting collection of local history. A trap door lifts up from the floor where the old cable used to be. Pretty exhibition on wedding dresses. Loved the before and after photos of town buildings. Some of the information boards are a bit old but it’s full of good information and well worth a stop.

Ladies running it where very knowledgeable had some interesting stuff in there spent 45 minutes looking at all the different artefacts cost $5 to enter $1 for kids 2 percent more if you use eftpos was very cold in there probably about 5c

Wildlife Wonders is an Australian wildlife sanctuary offering various guided tours, including the Walk with Wildlife Tour and Dusk and Dawn Discovery Tours. The 12-hectare sanctuary provides a safe haven for native species such as koalas, bandicoots, and pademelons. Visitors can enjoy an immersive experience observing kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, and other animals in their natural habitat while learning about the unique ecosystems of the Otways.
We stumbled upon Wildlife Wonders during our drive along the Great Ocean Road from Apollo Bay, and it turned out to be one of the true highlights of our trip. The tour offered an intimate experience in nature, allowing us to observe the animals up close, roaming freely in their natural environment. Our guide, Sasha, was an absolute delight—her passion and knowledge shone through with every word, making the experience all the more enriching. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere and wonderful staff throughout. We couldn’t recommend this experience more highly. Thank you, Wildlife Wonders, for making our trip so memorable—please keep up the incredible work you do.

Our guide Dell was absolutely amazing, full of knowledge and humor. Made our nature walk so fulfilling! Such an amazing way to learn about the environment and do our bit to take care of it. I’d definitely come back on my next visit! Lots of lovely critters seen and heard! Just a great time!!

Book tour ticket through wildlife wonder web, its pretty expensive for 3pax ( aud 142 ) and for toddler age 0-4 free. As this my first time following tour, its pretty excited especilly kids got to experience to see wild animals. Our tour guide was english lady origanlly from uk ( sophie) was very experience and explain every single thing about wild animals. She is very patient each time answering question. We manage to see pademelon, koala, kangaroo, baby emu and many more ! The tour requiry walking about 1.5hrs and its pram friendly not to worries for parrents who bring baby on pram. For those driving, plenty parking lot available and its free

Amazing experience! I took the 75 minute guided tour, and right from the start we were surrounded by wildlife! We saw multiple koalas, pademelons, wallabies, kangaroos and at least 3 different bird species (including Emus!). Wildlife Wonders also has a lovely little Cafe attached, and an extensive gift shop (including books and literature about the flora and fauna native to the region), and all proceeds go towards helping conserve out beautiful wildlife. If you are staying in or near Apollo Bay, Wildlife Wonders is an absolute must-visit! Cannot recommend highly enough!
Bodhi S — Google review
This was such an incredible experience. We were lucky enough to see koalas, pademelons, wallabies, and emus while learning about the conservation work being done here. Sasha, our guide, was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and very mindful of the animals’ wellbeing. All wildlife is observed respectfully in its natural environment, so sightings are never guaranteed, but you’re very likely to encounter them. What impressed us most was how calm the animals remained, simply going about their routines thanks to the thoughtful approach of the staff. We did the morning tour (about 75 minutes) They have a well-organized setup, with audio headsets and excellent binoculars provided. The grounds are spotless and well maintained. Some reviews mention the price, but knowing that the fees directly support conservation made it feel more than worthwhile. Be sure not to miss the café—the food and coffee were delicious! Overall, it’s inspiring to see such a passionate team carrying out important conservation work. Highly recommended.

10/10 recommend must do whilst near the Otway NP area. From booming the tickets with ease online, to showing up. My partner and I booked a Dusk Tour. We were greeted by a smiley Erin who welcomed us and wasted no time making us feel comfortable offering drinks and a chat. Part of the package is a meal and I thought this was fabulous as the time you booked included the dinner, we were welcomed to sit down at a long table with other participants in the group, meet new people - whom I have to say were exceptionally nice and being the only Aussies in our tour made the conversations with the Americans, Canadians and British even better. We then went into a room to get our binoculars, ear piece and a brief on what’s next. The tour itself was incredible, Erin seriously took the time to ensure everyone had gotten a look at the animals we were searching for, so informative and her care and passion for the wildlife wonders was genuine. She was open for questions and conversation whilst maintaining an informative tour. Erin offered to take photos of the group at a viewpoint too. Would seriously recommend!

My wife and I had a great experience on the Walk with Wildlife tour. Our guide, Erin, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the local wildlife. The Great Ocean Walk is a mesmerizing destination that offers stunning beach and ocean views, as well as a sculpture garden and various dining options. It starts in Apollo Bay and ends at the twelve apostles, spanning 110km. However, you don't need to walk the entire track to appreciate its beauty. The area is part of the Great Otway National Park, known for its breathtaking waterfalls, lush rainforests, and diverse wildlife.
We did the GOW in 8 days. It was a beautiful walk that we thoroughly enjoyed. Difficult at times but manageable. Campsites are well located and water was available in March, which is usually a dry time. This walk is a must do trek.
Ian — Google review
I did the great ocean walk spit into 5 days and then 3 days. I found it great! The paths were well dug out but some feedback would be for a park ranger or someone to be at the campsites because there was people that arrived that didn’t book, which caused the scarce of campsites. The views were incredible and it challenged me and my family but we managed and the relief at the end was amazing. At the end of the walk, there is a visitor centre that was so busy; we didn’t stay for long. There is a 6 year old in our family and he managed so is possible for young people. Just wish all the campsites were closer to the beach or had a nice view like the first couple and not tucked away in the middle of the bush. The amount we walked each day was reasonable (challenging but not to much). Highly recommended this walk for anyone willing! 😊
Lexi E — Google review
Did the great ocean hike with a couple of friends, and while the steep uphills were quite difficult, especially with the heat, it was a great experience. Just a warning if you do this trail during summer and spring, there will be quite a few snakes like Eastern browns and tiger snakes. Otherwise, have fun!

The Great Ocean Road is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience breathtaking coastal views and lush natural landscapes. The journey starts with a long drive through beautiful forests, offering a peaceful and scenic escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The route to Apollo Bay is particularly stunning, with winding roads through thick trees and quiet, serene surroundings. It's a relaxing and picturesque drive that sets the tone for the rest of the trip. Upon reaching Apollo Bay, visitors can enjoy a delicious scallop pie, which comes highly recommended by locals. This local delicacy features a perfectly baked crust filled with tender scallops and a rich, flavorful filling. It's a simple yet satisfying snack that perfectly complements the coastal vibe of the town. If you're up for more adventure, the journey continues with a 2-hour drive to Chick n Ranch, a popular spot known for its rotisserie chicken. The chicken is roasted to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavor, making it a great stop for those hungry after the long drive. The place has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy a hearty meal. Overall, the Great Ocean Road offers much more than just stunning views. It’s an experience that combines nature, food, and relaxation into one unforgettable road trip. Whether you're a nature lover or a foodie, the road trip to Apollo Bay and beyond will leave you with lasting memories. The mix of scenic beauty, delicious food, and leisurely pace makes this drive well worth the time and effort. It's definitely a journey worth taking.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Great Ocean Walk. Sure, there was a bit of rain, a bit of mud and some wind, but also plenty of sunshine and the most magnificent views and bush landscapes. Met a number of friendly, like-minded people who contributed to the joy of the journey. Highly recommended as an 8 day solo bushwalk.

Seafood restaurant
Located on the pier, Apollo Bay Fishermen's Co-Op is renowned as the go-to spot for fish and chips in town. Offering a variety of freshly caught local fish, including species filleted on site, it provides an opportunity to witness Southern Rock lobsters being offloaded from the boats. The seafood is described as incredibly fresh and delicious, with a seafood platter offering a generous portion for two people at an affordable price.
Such delicious and fresh seafood !!! Always feel happy supporting the local Co-Op. Such a lovely spot to sit when the suns out. Everything on the menu is a treat, portion sizes are great. Amazing for sharing or single meals.
Isabelle S — Google review
The food was amazing as expected, we had the 1/2 Lobster and seafood platter for 2.... my only suggestion for improvement would be: - Create a nice out door dining experience to match the food eg, a level floor and enclosed dining area to exclude the seagulls and costal wind etc and upgrade the tables and chairs to match the food prices. - Update you Menu prices to include GST prices so they don't look cheaper than the final bill. I will definitely give you a shout out for fresh seafood that was delicious, in an amazing location and you were willing to switch salads at no additional costs. But I think if you want to excel in seafood and custom service, the dining area needs to suggest that some of the profits are being reinvested into the dinning experience. P.s. the Lobster was borderline undercooked and the scallops were all of a medium size. - Fish was delicious, Prawns were thick and tasty, oysters were excellent and the calamari was amazing.
Kyle H — Google review
One of the best fish and chips shop ever. If you’re a seafood lover, it’s a sin to miss this spot. On my way back to Melbourne, took a stopover at Apollo Bay and going by the reviews; we took a halt here to eat some seafood. It did not disappoint at all. Amazing food ! Must visit.

The fresh King Dory was really good. Large piece, crispy batter, tender and tasty inside. The tartar sauce compliments it nicely without being overpowering. Highly recommend for their fresh fish. Gets busy on the weekends, has 10% surcharge on Sat/Sun.
Jean1 T — Google review
Menu price for fish n chips 32$ I ordered 2 portions they wanna charge 71$ I did complain the Chinese woman said surcharge. I asked for what? Normal in Australia she meant. Taste is very ordinary. Never again. So far from that old place where everything was fresh and fairly priced. But I guess this is Apollo bay today pay through the nose. Never again .

BEST FISH AND CHIPS I'VE EVER HAD! The food is very delicious, fresh and visually appealing. (My photos weren't the best) The view is lovely, and the servers were very nice. I will definitely come back here when I visit Great Ocean Road again. We ate around $230 between 6 people, the money was definately well spent, we all agree that the oysters were the best though.
Estelle — Google review
This seafood bar on Apollo Boy is one of the most visited, and we ordered the seafood platter for two, grilled red snapper, and a la carte calamari. The food is decent for the price, but the calamari and grilled fish are better than the fish and chips. You get a nice view for lunch, and the public toilet is just a short walk away.

Great fish and chips in Apollo Bay! We tried the fish and chips here, and the fish was actually fried shark — not bad at all, especially considering this is one of the few places where you can try it! The meal was very cheap and surprisingly good. Highly recommended if you’re around Apollo Bay and looking for a quick, tasty lunch.

Bakery
Apollo Bay Bakery is a local favorite known for its delectable baked goods, with the famous scallop pie being a must-try. This renowned pie features fresh scallops, vegetables, and a creamy sauce encased in flaky pastry. The bakery's central location on the main street makes it convenient for visitors to stop by and enjoy their selection of pies and sandwiches.
Opening at 6am I was impressed by the quality and variety of their food! The scallop pie was excellent! So fresh and tasty! I was worry that it might taste fishy but it was perfect! I highly recommended stopping by!

I was told by our guide to to try the world famous Apollo Bay Scallop pie. The cashier was trying to back a smile as I ordered using that name. If you are expecting something amazing then you may be disappointed. What you get is a really really good pie. They really make goid pies, shortcrust pastry with generous filling with perfect balance of flavors. I am not sure if it is "world famous" ,but it was definitely a great scallop pie. So if you are on the great ocean road, be sure to stop here.
Hk A — Google review
Apollo Bay Bakery is a really nice spot with a fantastic selection of patisserie, small cakes, vegetarian options, and plenty of different meat choices. My absolute favourite was the scallops – truly delicious! The food is great, fresh, and well worth stopping for. The only downside was the service. It felt more like a “just order and go” attitude, not particularly kind or welcoming. If the service matched the quality of the food, I would happily give 5 stars.
Michael G — Google review
The popular curry scallop pie was aromatic and filled with scallops, mild curry flavour enhance rather than overwhelm, yummy! Next day I tried the chunky beef (my go-to pie), tender juicy chunky pieces. Very friendly staff! The pastry is on the hard side, especially the bottom, almost like a pot for you to dig into the insides (I've tried in 3 places in Victoria, and simillar). I much prefer the softer flaky pastry, which seems to be the norm in Western Australia (recommend Pinjarra Bakery, Toodyay Bakery, Nannup Bakery).
Jean1 T — Google review
The people are kind and the food is delicious. I love the signage and cozy feel. We had both of the scallop pies and they were SOOOO GOOD. We also had a Chai and the Basque Cheesecake. The cheesecake had great consistency and wasn't too dry or sweet. The Chai was a balanced flavor at a good temperature. The staff answered all of our questions qnd made us feel welcomed.
Hannah C — Google review
Ordered the scallop pie and garlic prawn pie, along with a blueberry muffin to go. Everything was delicious to me. I chose the curried version instead of the Mornay sauce one. They were quite generous with the scallops and prawns, and I really enjoyed it. The prices felt a little on the higher side, but the service was efficient and friendly. I would love to revisit if I get the chance, though my group was not too keen on the idea of seafood pies.
Leh P — Google review
Their scallop mornay pie was truly the best!! Creamy, hot, flaky, buttery, with just the right amount of filling and perfectly seasoned. The perfect bite on a cold day. Service was quick, staff were attentive and kind, and the dining area was clean with complete utensils and condiments. Highly recommended!

Am elated to finally have the chance to grab a bite at this bakery during my stopover at Apollo Bay area, having missed it 3 years back. The scallop pie was delish; each bite oozed with freshness of whole scallops. Also had a carrot cake to-go and it tasted so good (moist, crunchy nuts & cream cheese frosting was not too sweet) despite letting it sit for a good 3h before consumption. Will always revisit this cafe the next time I’m along the Great Ocean Road!

Great place for good coffee and pizza. The restaurant is located towards the end of the restaurant stretch in town but serves good food and coffee. The truffle fries and calamari were great side dishes. The service is quick. It has a shop to buy goodies and good drinks as well. The toilets are clean and well maintained.

Relaxed, welcoming environment with a great selection of beverage options. 100% recommend the gin tasting flight, all very different in flavour profile but all delicious. Really enjoy my visit to this place and would definitely recommend to others.

What we had: Skinny Fries - Good. The Aioli was tasty Calamari - Lovely spice, crispy & perfectly cooked. It went better with the aioli than the sauce it was served with. Gin Mule - gin was overpowered slightly by the ginger. Next time I will order a double shot. It was still pretty tasty. Citrus Splash - this was the pick of our drinks. The Grapefruit Gin was lovely. Coastal Gin with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic. The Coastal Gin has strong anise notes. Not a flavour I like. Gamberi Pizza - crust was perfectly cooked. Garlic Prawns were amazing. If I were to order again, would ask to pass on the balsamic as it took away from the other flavours. Overall: Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good place to visit.
Kaz B — Google review
Pretty interesting experience!! The gins were lovely, the tasting experience was sublime! The pizza was goood just that the choice on the food menu was pretty limited and the ambience was kinda flat, hence the not bringing this to a 5 star. What I mean by that, there should be more food choices, and maybe have some music in the background or something because a bar/restaurant kinda place will definitely be uplifted with good music around :) Now the gin, omg, it was so good. The staff really explained the gin tasters well. The good mix of local ingredients and local gin was really good. Id say you gotta experience it at least once. The oven baked pizza was GOOD, so if you’re a pizza person and love gin or even beer, then it’s easily a 5! Haha.

The place is nice, atmosphere is great and service is hospitable, quick and friendly, and the cocktail was great. The pizza was good, but not great, and the menu is quite limited All in all, a good place to grab a drink and enjoy a decent pizza

Fish & chips restaurant
Apollo Bay Seafood Cafe is a bustling gem along the Great Ocean Road, offering incredibly fresh and delicious seafood. Visitors rave about the freshness of their fish and chips, prawns, oysters, mussels with garlic white wine, calamari, and seafood platter. Despite being a bit pricey, the quality of the food makes it well worth it. The staff efficiently handles busy periods even when tours flood in simultaneously.
We stopped in this area as part of a tour and weren’t given any specific dining recommendations, so we were left to explore on our own. Having had our fair share of pies recently, we weren’t in the mood for more, and most of the other options nearby felt quite generic or unappealing. We ended up choosing this place — and were pleasantly surprised! We had the mussels and the lobster burger, both of which were absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend those two dishes over some of the other items on the menu, which seem to attract mixed reviews.
Nic T — Google review
Apollo Bay Co-op was closed for renovation when we were here so we went to this restaurant instead for dinner. Much to our surprise, the food was bombz! Seafood like oysters were fresh, lobster burger were priced reasonably and yummy! Paella was really the star of the show, it was so fresh and rich of flavours! Fish and chips somehow was just normal - like can eat, but not wow. All in all, worth a trip here to satisfy our seafood cravings, my tummy was super happy!

Visited during the Hittheroad tour. Have to find a seat ourselves and order via QR code or at the counter, though QR code could not order today’s special. Ordered a Blue swimmer crab spaghetti and Seafood Chowder, a regular Hot Long Black. The Spaghetti had a large portion, with tomato based sauce. The crab meat was scattered but acceptable amount, could taste the flavour of seawater and freshness. The crab meat was rather soft in nature. The seafood chowder had scallops, clams, fish pieces, pawn pieces and peas in it. The chowder was full of different flavours form seafood, together with cream. Liquid/fluid in texture, savoury to drink to warm the body up. Coffee was unexpectedly good, with fruity smell and taste. The cup had cute and artistic design. Total ~$61. Crowded place to eat especially during lunch hours, and staff were kind of cold-faced, but polite.

Had an argument as to which place to dine at. It was between this and George's next door. And we made the wrong decision. Would have given 0 if there was a choice. Walked in to a restaurant with only one table full. Absolutely none of the staff bother smiling. Also, the food was probably one of the worse I've had. Let's start with the mussels... the broth tasted like white wine. Pretty obvious whoever made it didn't allow the wine to evaporate before rushing the food out.it was bitter as. The seafood platter for 1 was okay.. nothing spectacular for the price. Management must have changed hands since the last time I visited 4 or 5 years ago. It's a shadow of itself. Would have helped if the staff were trained to give service to paying customers.. what a shame.
Sivashankar S — Google review
Took a lobster burger and it is delicious. They even toasted the buns to make it crispy and char on the inner yet warm and soft on the surfaces Great service despite very crowded. Thumbs up. Would love to try their fish and chip and seafood chowder given enough time.
Wuang D — Google review
I had the mussels in garlic and white wine sauce, OMG , they were divine!!!! This place is a reasonably priced (apart from the beer!!) gem amongst some very over priced places in town. Place was very busy when we arrived. Clean, staff provided excellent service. Highly recommend this place if you are in town.
Vivienne H — Google review
We had the mussels here, both the garlic & white wine and tomato with chilli. The best mussels we had in our life, and we already had a lot before. I ordered a second portion, because they were so good!
Sven R — Google review
The food tasted good, but even after I asked twice while ordering, if they could leave out the chili in the mussels pot please, they definitely did not in the end. Our other dish was the „seafood platter“. In the end, the seafood was only nearly 1/3 of the plate and does definitely not deserve to be called like that.

Great place the lady let me try the beer before I picked which one I liked. The waiter made home made short bread cookies and gave my kids some. They were great. The garlic bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, and the chicken schnitzel with salad was delicious — crispy, well-cooked and generously portioned. The staff were friendly and the place had a lovely, relaxed vibe. A great spot to unwind after exploring the area!

We arrived a little to early for a meal so we sat in the front window and enjoyed a few different beers and ciders. The service at the bar for drinks was very friendly, welcoming a super helpful. Once we were ready to more to the dining area we'd already decided on our meals of pork belly entree, surf and turf scotch fillet and lamb shanks. The guy behind the bar took our order had a couple of jokes with us and set us up on a table. The entree came out super fast and was delicious, we almost regretted not getting two. But once out meals came out we relieved, one entree between us was plenty. As for the mains, one of the best lamb shanks I've had, and I've had a few. The veggies were the perfect balance of cooked and crunchy. The lamb shank was cooked perfectly. And the surf and turf was spot on. *Although my partner for some reason or another was deep down hoping for one scallop on his suef and turf

We ate here Friday night 3rd of October and just want to give a big thanks and shout out to the gentleman running front of house. He didn’t stop the entire time we were there- from taking orders, greeting everyone, making sure guests were happy. He was so friendly and kind, and an absolute star of your establishment. Food was superb. Really lovely atmosphere Keep up the fantastic work- you’ll keep people coming back :)

The atmosphere was nice, however due to the busyness of the establishment, the service was underwhelming, as was the food. We had the Caesar salad and the Asian veg noodles, the latter of which was undercooked. For savoury dishes, both were rather sweet, however that may be personal preference. While I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for some nice food, the bar was lively and beers seemed to be popular.

Good selection of beers on tap, great service. Meals were delish. I had the parmi/parma, proper breast, best I've had in a long time! My wife had the pan seared Salmon, says it was amazing! Highly recommend

The Great Ocean Road Brewhouse in Apollo Bay is well recommended. It was cold (Early October) and the fire places were all going. Very cosy atmosphere. We (a couple) had beers and supper there. We had two Seniors Parmas. Photo of Menu is dated 7 October 2025. Friendly and efficient service. Yes, well recommended. Thank you.

Great spot to kick back in the sun with an awesome selection of beers. The service is excellent and the venue itself has a really relaxed, welcoming vibe. The food is okay, but honestly the standout here is definitely the beer lineup. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy a few quality brews.

Amazing experience. We were recommended this place by our tour guide Ray who raved about the ice cream. The lovely girl serving us was absolutely delightful and despite the queue being long because we were part of a tour group, she treated each customer with care and made sure we had the full experience. Serving size was great and the taste of the ice cream was delicious. Definitely understand the hype. Thank you!

Our tour guide insisted we check this place out… he knew was he was talking about! This place did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious ice cream! The lady was exceptional, she knew about coeliac disease and prepared mine separately out the back. I even got a gf cone - woo! Highly recommend!

They serve really good ice cream—one of the best I’ve had! It’s a bit pricey for the serving size, but still worth trying. I got the honey malt in a kids cup and it was incredibly creamy, sweet, milky, and smooth. Kind of wish I went for the regular scoop! 🤭 I also got to taste the peanut butter gelato and the coffee chocolate ice cream, though the lady gave me a tasting amount as little as an ant, so I barely got to appreciate the flavors. Still, both seemed delicious. The line can get long, but it moves quickly.

Tried the ice cream and found it to be just okay. The ice cream itself was decent, with a good range of flavours, but nothing particularly memorable. The staff were not especially friendly or welcoming, not rude, just rather cold and indifferent. For the price and reputation, I expected a warmer experience overall.

Highly, highly recommend their ice cream! It’s definitely the best ice cream that I've ever had. I bought three scoops with different flavors for my family, and everyone gave each flavor a high score. I’d love to come back again just for it.

Had three flavours of icecream here - mango, coffee and Vegemite Coffee and Vegemite were superb. Creamy, flavourful and the Vegemite was not too overpowering The mango one had a bit of a gummy texture and the flavour was not good at all - very artificial

I loved their chocolate icecream. Strawberry chocolate was Okayish. Hazelnut praline was good. This icecream outlet is known as the world’s best icecream shop. I highly recommend visiting this place in Apollo Bay.

love eating ice cream, and this place has a wide variety of flavors to try and enjoy. When I visited, they even had a chilli chocolate flavor — a rich chocolate with a spicy kick that came in after the sweetness. Pretty unusual, but interesting! 😂 In the end, I went with my go-to favorite and safe choice: mint chocolate chip. (I think (and as I could recall) this might be the only ice cream shop in the area)
