The Enzo Ferrari Museum, located not far from the city center, is a futuristic glass-walled building that showcases the life and work of Enzo Ferrari. The museum features multimedia exhibits, an art gallery, and an extensive collection of iconic racing cars. Visitors can also experience semi-professional simulators to get a feel for driving a Prancing Horse F1 single-seater on famous tracks like Monza and Silverstone.
Visiting the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena was an unforgettable experience and an absolute must for anyone with a passion for cars, history, or design. The moment you step inside, you feel the strong connection between Ferrari’s legacy and the city of Modena itself. The museum is beautifully designed, with modern architecture that contrasts yet harmonizes perfectly with Enzo Ferrari’s birthplace, which is also part of the visit. The collection of cars on display is breathtaking. Each model tells a story, from the earliest creations to the most advanced machines that symbolize Italian excellence. The exhibits are arranged with care, allowing visitors to appreciate the evolution of design, technology, and performance. The multimedia presentations, films, and historical documents give great context and make the experience both educational and emotional. What impressed me most was the attention to detail in every aspect. The lighting, the space, and the sound create an atmosphere that feels almost theatrical. It is not just a museum it feels like a celebration of Ferrari’s spirit and innovation. I left inspired, with a deeper appreciation for what Ferrari represents to Italy and to the world. Highly recommended for travelers, enthusiasts, and dreamers alike.

Definitely a Must! The scenography of the cars, the presentation on the big screen, the location, the Supercars exposed…. Could have spend more time there but had to leave for the rest of the journey after a good 2-3 hours visit! We loved it!!! Will come back to admire art on wheels!

The Ferrari Enzo Museum continues to be one of the most rewarding stops for any automotive enthusiast — and an absolute must for anyone who loves Ferrari. On my latest visit, I was pleased to see how much they’ve improved the main display hall. The new layout makes it far easier to walk around the cars and appreciate them from every angle, which really elevates the experience. The tribute film dedicated to Enzo Ferrari remains a touching centerpiece of the visit. It’s beautifully put together and adds emotional depth to the museum, reminding you of the passion and vision behind the brand. The standout for me this time was the F40 LM — an icon in its own right and an unbelievable sight up close. It alone is worth the trip. Overall, the museum is a fantastic place for any car fan, and for Ferrari enthusiasts it’s nothing short of special.

This is for all lovers of cars, history, speed... I can honestly say that this museum is something you must visit when you come to Modena. Such an amazing display. The video presentations and abundance of information was fantastic. Photos documents and history in the 2nd part of the exhibit has hours of extra enjoyment for the Ferrari enthusiast who really wants to see the details. Just amazing. You can drive a virtual Ferrari or enjoy walking through the cars on show. Arrived by bus from Bologna, it was easy enough to find with google maps. We purchased tickets when we got there. We only did the one museum but a 2nd extra one is available when you purchase your ticket. Price was fair. Access to this museum was easy by bus but I’m not sure about the 2nd one so research ahead.
Robyn S — Google review
The visit to the Ferrari Museum left me underwhelmed. Given Ferrari’s storied legacy, I anticipated a richer exploration of the brand’s history and Enzo Ferrari’s life. Sadly, the museum lacks depth, with sparse details on the iconic founder and the company’s evolution. The car collection, while sleek, is a bit limited, featuring fewer models than expected. Interactive experiences are minimal, with just two small exhibition halls that feel underwhelming for such a legendary brand.
S T — Google review
Beautiful display of Ferrari supercars, but that's all this museum has going for it. For instance, they have gutted and not restored Enzo's original workshop. Literally no trace of it remains. They have a small (possibly restored) version of his office, but that's it. Tons of history is missing. Gift shop is ridiculously overpriced. If you want to see Ferrari supercars (and are willing to spend 27 euros apiece to do so) then go. If not pass.
Michael O — Google review
You can't touch anything and has zero opportunities to interact with the installation. There is a simulator but is 25€ on top. There is another car where you can actually go in but you have to pay for pictures. There are no places to sit and rest for a second. The whole concept (Modena and Maranello museum+ Shuttle Bus) is very expensive and price performance not comparable with other big museums like the Mercedes Benz.

A beautiful Romanesque cathedral right in the heart of Modena. The details on the façade are stunning, and the inside feels peaceful and full of history. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage site, definitely worth a visit if you're in town.

Very interesting Roman cathedral in Modena. Stone and sculptures outside, bricks inside, darkness and simplicity of Roman pure architecture. Some remarkable sculptures and tombs inside.

One of the most impressive cathedrals I have seen in my life. The architecture is amazing the murals of stunning in the use of marble is unique giving a wet all liquid form to the stone.

Unique cathedral protected by UNESCO. To visit the first floor a 2 Euros contribution is recommended. There's a sarcophagus with the sacred bones of Saint Geminianus. Definitely a place worth of visiting.

This is well worth it visit, you can get half way up the tower and this gives you a very good view of the city around the tower, very interested information is available as you climb.
Stephen R — Google review
An incredible piece of architecture, inside and out. The inside was not what I expected it to be. Definately worth a trip up the tower (a seperate entrance) for some amazing views. The stairs are mostly enclosed so it’s not too bad if you aren’t keen on that sort of thing.

The Modena Cathedral, or Duomo di Modena, is an awe-inspiring masterpiece and a must-visit landmark in the heart of the city. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it stands as a testament to Romanesque architecture and the rich history of Modena. Built on the burial site of Saint Geminianus, the city’s patron saint since 331 AD, the cathedral is not just an architectural wonder but also a deeply spiritual place. The crypt, where Saint Geminianus is interred, adds a layer of solemnity and historical significance, making the visit feel profound and meaningful.

Incredible palace. One of the best that I have ever seen. Great art work on the walls and other sculptures inspired by Ancient Greece. Also there is a part of the museum for kids! It’s a must visit in Manitoba. We were staying in Verona and family that leaves in Verona told us that we have to go! My daughter who is 4 1/2 years old loved it

The Palazzo dei Musei is a museum complex located in the 18th-century Ducal Armory in Modena. It houses various attractions including the Roman and Estense Lapidary Museum, Historical Archive, Civic Archaeological and Ethnological Museum, and Civic Art Museum. The latter was established in 1871 after archaeological excavations, featuring prehistoric artifacts and ethnological collections.
Interesting museum with a diverse collection. I visited for the Salvador Dalí exhibition, which was well-organized and impressive. Worth a visit if you’re in Modena (:

It's a must-see! Absolutely phenomenal exhibitions: lapidarium, paintings and sculptures! There are escalators too and an automatic coffee machine at the 4th floor (€0,50 espresso). Some paintings and sculptures have accessibility features for the blind. If I had to pick on something, I would point to the lack of audioguide. Anyway, it's bsolutely fantastic.

We went during the June 2 holiday weekend so the entrance was free. Downstairs housing memorial artifacts is open without a ticket and has a snack bar. The fourth floor houses their art collection it's accessible by stairs or a glass lift. It's a simple collection compared to great museums for the size of this palace but has a few masterpieces. An hour is plenty of time to walk through.

Fine dining restaurant
Osteria Francescana is a small, upscale restaurant located in Modena, Italy. It offers meticulously presented meat and fish dishes with both à la carte and tasting menu options. The restaurant holds three Michelin stars and is widely regarded as one of the top dining establishments globally. Situated in the province of Modena, known for its culinary delights such as balsamic vinegar and Parmigiano-Reggiano, Osteria Francescana provides an exclusive dining experience.
Osteria Francescana in Modena, a two-time world’s best restaurant, was worth the journey from Hong Kong and the six-month booking wait. Chef Massimo Bottura’s sustainability ethos transforms simple ingredients like Parmigiano-Reggiano and balsamic vinegar into extraordinary dishes, proving luxury lies in respecting the earth. The €300+ tasting menu is a steal for this culinary pilgrimage. Dishes like Five Ages of Parmigiano Reggiano, a textural symphony from mousse to crisps, and Tortellini in Parmigiano Brodo, with delicate pasta in rich whey broth, are pure genius. The Crunchy Part of the Lasagna reimagines tradition with ragù and nutmeg. The Lemon Tart dazzles with lemon spheres and pistachio crumble. Every course was flawless, balancing bold flavors with elegance. The intimate dining room, seating just 14, exudes a chill yet sophisticated vibe. The staff’s professionalism enhanced the experience, and Chef Bottura’s warm greeting and photo session made it personal. From Hong Kong’s chaos to Modena’s brilliance, Osteria Francescana is a bucket-list must. Book early—it’s an unforgettable celebration of food, culture, and sustainability.

We got the last minute call from reservations team that we get a table. The restaurant is in the old town well decorated but dark( even in lunch). 12 courses 350 per person is ok for 3 Michelin. Service is Perfect but lack of human touch. We tried the 30 years anniversary menu. Tbh I was expecting more and have been wanted to come here but most of the dishes were flat. They were good but of 1 from 12 gave me wow factor. So it is nice to go but not wow for me and my partner 😭. Massimo (head chef) came and say hello and tell story of many dishes to every table ( this was so nice to hear) I think if the service also tell a bit story will also be very interesting ( they were quite rush when explaining) in conclusion not no.1 world best restaurant in my view.
Eddy V — Google review
Overall, a good experience that I would recommend, albeit I couldn’t help but leaving slightly unfulfilled. Not many dishes were truly stand-outs apart from the duck (which to be fair was easily the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a good bit). Some of the other dishes like the “bean” pasta and crunchy pasta were interesting and fun, but maybe not quite as enjoyable as I would have hoped on the flavor side. Don’t get me wrong. It’s good. But from a 3-star level and the inherent expectations that come along with this restaurant’s reputation, I thought it was slightly below what I hoped for. I also found the service to be just a little bit on the stiff side, apart obviously from Massimo himself who is an absolute delight.

Amazing experience, the staff is amazing and make sure you have a good time. I would say the wine pairing is a must do to extract the the most out of the experience. Our experience started with a portion of grissini, they arrive fresh and warm. They are so good that I could eat that the whole night. The sommelier offered us a glass of sparkling wine from the region as an aperitif, that glass was amazing. After that we started the experience, the first dish is called panned e aqua, paired with a Sake-Yuzu. The first bite of the dish didn't give me much, but once I got the first sip of the sake, on that moment I noticed if we didn't ordered the pairing the experience would be very different. The dish mixes textures with panned gratato, breadcrumbs and creamy oyster and some seaweed. The flavours popped with the wine, the mix of textures and flavours did the right balance. Second Course, brodo in bloom and three small bites. A onion and caviar dish, a pizza frita and very fresh Herby bite. The stars of that for me were thr broth, that was complex and light Providing a deep experience on flavour. The pizza frita was a master piece, tha flavours over the simplicity was amazing with a pop in your mouth with the cheese inside. The onion bite was very light and balanced, was my wife's favourite. The last one, very fresh, lots of herbs that create a unified flavour in your mouth. The wine, such unique wine that I can't describe the smell of it. I've asked the sommelier and he describes as: "the smell of the sea wind in the morning with dome apricots" Next dish, with the same wine. Was La Contadina. A dish with aspargus and some dark greens. The dish was so aromatic and flavoursome. This was one of the highlight of the night. The aromas that relies when you bite the greens was something that I can describe as unique. Now the Mare Nostrum, this is one of the dishes that push the socre down of the experience. The dish is a interesting texture experience, with "plastic" on the dish. Doing a challenge on what we have in the ocean. Flavour was nice, mix of textures and charcoal. But what destroyed the experience was that one of the pieces of the the seafood was rubbery. That just destroyed the whole experience of the dish for me. My wife said her was ok. Next dish, pasta e fragility. This one the pairing shines again. A dish that would be OK, was turn into a nice flavour combination. Instead of wine here we hade a local beer. Making that pairing amazing. The challenge here is to find what is bean, what is pasta. Good experience, nice visuals. La genovense, our pasta dish. That pasta dish was very well executed, flavour, texture and aroma. That is what I was looking for. The dish is a construction of freshly cooked pasta and yesterday pasta. And the sauce, THE SAUCE!! The only thing that was missing was bread to clean the plate. Now, the main course. The Jazz of the Duck. That was a very nice surprise to cook the duck with some Japanese infusion and inspiration. Massimo creates a katsobushi of duck. The dish comes with bread, whole wheat, natural fermentation. The duck breast with the sauce. A salad and a crispy bite of the katsobushi on top. That was amazing, just not as amazing as the secret second part of the dish. It was a savory panetonne, that thing... my God... that was delicious. Now the first dessert, fast bees slow honey. I'm not a big fan of sweets in general. But the complexity and combination of flavours with a crispy of bay leaves with honey. That created an amazing experience. The next one, another dish that make me feel the execution wasn't quite right. Thus dessert was to show the sunset on Sicily. The dish should have the flavours of lemon, coffee and almonds. The flavour of the lemon was so intense that I could not taste the almonds. And almost disappeared the flavour of the coffee. This the experience lost another point. The Gelati to close the night, and the last bite the duck strikes again. Each gelato provided another great experience. Amaxing, two things let it down that is why 4 stars.
Thiago B — Google review
Absolute bucket list meal. Staff was extremely friendly. Food was delicious and presentation amazing. Well worth the high price. Both tasting menus were exquisite. Wine pairing a must (although could’ve done without the beer). We sat in the back room so it felt little secluded. Thankful to have enjoyed the experience.

3* Michelin, twice winner of World’s 50 Best Restaurants (2016 and 2018). Half of the items are worthy of being associated with one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been. Bean-shaped pasta from the different Italian regions paired with beer; burnt tomato pasta; duck; panettone duck and the milk pre dessert were all divine. Foie Gras in the ice-cream was a nice surprise.
Teo T — Google review
⭐️ Short version: We’ve been to many fine dining and “Hall of Fame” restaurants — but Osteria Francescana was by far the most disappointing. Cold atmosphere, guests whispering, bored staff (except the sommelier). Pasta cold, duck barely warm. Same duck reduction in 3 of 11 dishes, celery sauce twice. Napkins forgotten, coffee late. For a place with three stars, it’s the small things that should make the difference — and they didn’t. ⸻ ⭐️ Long version: We’ve been to many fine dining and “Hall of Fame” restaurants around the world, but sadly Osteria Francescana was one of the most disappointing experiences. Perhaps, like with certain modern artists, we just didn’t understand the vision — but the entire evening felt distant and soulless. The atmosphere was cold (and not just the room temperature); guests whispered, and the staff seemed disengaged. Only the sommelier appeared to genuinely enjoy his job. Napkins were forgotten, coffee arrived late — small details, yet at this level, those are exactly what should make the difference. Culinarily, things didn’t improve much. The pasta was cold, the duck only slightly warm, and the same duck reduction appeared in three out of eleven dishes. A celery sauce showed up twice. That repetition made the menu feel uninspired and mechanical rather than creative or emotional. Maybe there’s an artistic layer we simply missed — but for us, the experience lacked warmth, precision, and passion. For a Hall of Fame, three-Michelin-star restaurant, it fell well short of expectations.

Salumeria Hosteria Giusti, located on Via Farini in Modena, Italy, is a popular spot featured in the series 'Master of None.' This historical eatery is known for its delicious lunch offerings. The restaurant was frequented by the characters and offers a glimpse into local dining experiences. It's one of the many places where locals gather and enjoy authentic Italian cuisine.
This was the best restaurant we went to during our Italy trip to Milan, Modena, and Bologna. Each dish was absolutely phenomenal, flavorful, and unique. The duck pasta (6/5) was the best pasta I've ever had. The suckling pig was delicious as well (5/5). The panna cotta (5/5) was the best I've had on this entire trip. Also the service is so incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Daniele made our experience amazing. This was the highlight of our trip - definitely come if you can.

Hosteria Giusti is a truly special experience — unforgettable from start to finish. The food was absolutely phenomenal, every dish prepared with care, tradition, and incredible flavor. The atmosphere is intimate and unique, tucked behind a historic shop that makes the whole meal feel like a well-kept secret. The owner and host was an absolute delight — warm, welcoming, and passionate about the food and history. This isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place to savor and remember. Book ahead to get a table — it’s small and fills up fast, but it’s worth every bit of planning. A memory and a meal you’ll carry with you forever.

One of the best, simplest meals of my life. What an experience of simple regional dishes prepared and cooked to perfection. I had the menu Classico, 4 courses but portions were just right so you didn’t leave feeling like you needed a nap. The waitress was fantastic and I cannot recommend enough! Book now!!

Iconic and we'll deserved reputation. Only 5 tables makes it hard to book but worth it! Have to check the date and confirm by email, make a deposit and then get a confirmation. $50 per person was just around what the bill was so it is perfect. Got the cheese platter and it was awesome. The cold cuts with the fried bread is amazing. Pasta of course is the best. The by the glass wine selection is awesome with a lot of different styles and unique bottles, fair priced and very exotic grapes to go with the food (the waiters can guide you very well). Cozy as expected for a small space, it's right in the back of the store, you go through the kitchen and staff spaces. Everyone is so friendly. Full of tourists but far from tourist trap. Must go!

Very lucky to have the last table booked on the same day. A place with full of history. Heard of this place first because of Master of None. And then accidentally found out its relationship with the Giuseppe Giusti family for the balsamic vinegar. Though now the family changed to another one, the food here is great. The price is on a higher end. The codfish cream with fried polenta is quite tasty. And the service is very good too. The waitress is very kind to split the meals into two for us to share. Would highly recommend.

I have been to Hosteria Giusti almost 10 times over the past few years, and it never disappoints. The Morandi family has run this place for many years, and the quality is top level. I have eaten gnocco fritto in many places, but this is my favorite. The pastas are so good I often get two pastas rather than a secondi. Ceci, the host/waitress is wonderful and is always great about wine reccomendations for each course. It is very small, so you must book well ahead. If you know you will be in Modena, you should make a point of eating here.

With its authentic and old-school ambiance, Ristorante da Danilo stands out as a gem among the dining options in the area.
This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. On our first night, we had reservations and were blown away by the food—everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. We enjoyed it so much that we returned a second time without a reservation, showing up right at opening. Despite that, they graciously seated us and once again delivered top-notch service and delicious food. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Must make reservations. We had the filet steak cooked in balsamic vinegar. The steak was so tender and juicy. Good portion. We also had the Scaloppina con funghi. I believe it was pork. The porcini mushroom sauce was oozing out of each cut of meat. Delicious.

This restaurant is a real jewel of the historic centre of Modena. Here, fresh pasta is the absolute protagonist: tortellini, tagliatelle and fried dumpling are prepared with great skill according to traditional recipes. Amazing home made pumpkin tortellini and terimisu. The tortellini was the perfect balance of salt, sage, and flavour. I highly recommend this place

Great restaurant with traditional dishes in a warm old style Italian restaurant. Do not skip the oven roasted potatoes as they are served with a delightful herb salt. Small seating area out front but even though it was protected from wind we sat inside because we like to be warm. The food was very good but they have very very stiff competition with all the incredible restaurants in Modena.

Restaurant
Trattoria Aldina, located at Via Luigi Albinelli 40 in Modena, offers a taste of traditional Emilian cuisine. Tucked away inside a building with other businesses, this restaurant may be easy to overlook but is popular among locals for its authentic homemade dishes and friendly staff. The cozy atmosphere resembles dining at a relative's home, giving off a comforting Sunday meal vibe. With its unassuming appearance on the first floor, Trattoria Aldina provides an authentic Italian dining experience.
It is recommended that you go as soon as it opens, otherwise you may have to wait for an empty table. The pasta and meat were very good. The panna cotta prepared woth amarena cherries was excellent.

This traditional trattoria was recommended on many blogs we read and the lonely planet book, a lot of hype. It was absolutely incredible - bustling with locals and serving delicious traditional pasta cooked perfectly. Some of the best food we have had in Italy. Left my husband speechless. Do the pasta tasting menu - we had tortellini with butter and sage, and the gramigna sausage ragu both were highlights!

If you’ve searched for an authentic Modenese dining experience, Trattoria Aldina will have certainly appeared in your search results - and for good reason. The obligatory queue before opening time is richly rewarded for its patience. This bustling and efficient trattoria packed full of diners anticipating their meal has the atmosphere of a big family occasion. The food is sooo good - obviously home cooked and freshly prepared. The accompanying wine options are fitting and everyone leaves with a feeling of satisfied contentment. Make sure you get to dine here at least once during your visit to Modena.

Very pleasant visit. Friendly service even though it was very busy for lunch, locals and tourists. Delicious food and reasonable prices. A bit challenging to find, I’ve included pics of the entrance and stairs up to the door. Definitely make your way here for an authentic experience.

Great place to eat, very authentic with just as many locals as tourists. The place was super busy at lunch and the food was very good, staff was very polite despite being slammed with tables. Worth the visit is in Modena. My wife and I had pasta, split a secondo and a side with small bottle of Lambrusco, dessert and 2 caffes and it was 56 euro, a solid deal for all we had.

Some of the BEST food our whole trip. We were recommended to come here after our balsamic tour and were soooooo glad we did. If you’re reading this review do your best to get a reservation, otherwise jump on the waitlist ASAP! We’re vegetarian and they had plenty of options and every dish was delicious! Also the owner was so accommodating and we appreciate how hard he worked to make sure people could get a table and eat the amazing food!!!

Located just up a staircase this delightful place with most delicious food is definitely worth a visit. I’d love to come back here and will be dreaming about the gnocchi for a while. Service is quick.

A very local experience in the heart of Modena! The restaurant is open for lunch, and you have to ring the doorbell to get into. The food was very delicious and freshly prepared. The decoration was also very unique. I recommend this place if you are in Modena!

Franceschetta58 is a modern venue with vibrant decor that offers Italian-inspired small plates through tasting menus. It is affiliated with the renowned Osteria Francescana and managed by Massimo Bottura, who also oversees other restaurants in the area. The restaurant collaborates with Modena Prison for vegetable sourcing.
we did the modern tasting menu and it was a fantastic experience (at a reasonable price at that). We loved the food, atmosphere, and service. The two “primi piati” we has rank at the top of the ones we have ever tasted (the burger had some ver surprising notes too). Overall 10/10; definitely want to come back

Franceschetta 58 delivers a creative and memorable dining experience with incredible food, but the service could benefit from a touch more refinement to match the culinary ambition. Positives: • The food was, without question, the highlight—beautifully composed, flavorful, and well-executed across the board. • Hot dishes were served on hot plates, a detail that speaks to the kitchen’s attention. • The atmosphere struck a nice balance: relaxed yet elevated, with a good mix of locals dining alongside visitors. • I appreciated the option to add on tortellini—thoughtful flexibility for those navigating a multi-course menu. Negatives: • Service felt inconsistent and lacked the polish expected at this level. My server attempted to clear a plate while my silverware signaled I was still eating—a small but telling misstep. • Wine pairings (I opted for 4 glasses for 8 courses) were explained in great detail, however I was left confused if the current wine would also pair with the subsequent dish. • Some execution issues with dishes: the octopus was overly salty and quite chewy. • Several service details were off: dessert arrived before a spoon, espresso was forgotten until prompted again, and glassware for the same wine course varied noticeably between tables. • I asked to revisit the tortellini offer mid-meal, but no one followed up. • The seating was notably uncomfortable, and pacing between tables seemed inconsistent (dessert was served to a neighboring table while they were still on their palate cleanser). Overall: Franceschetta 58 is absolutely worth a visit for the food alone. However, for a restaurant presenting itself at this level, the service needs more consistency and finesse to create the truly seamless experience that diners expect. With some attention to detail on the hospitality front, this place could easily shine even brighter.

Well, the few bad reviews I see are people who probably cannot be pleased even with a golden pot at the end of the Rainbow. I think everything was fantastic, except Asking for tips when paying (what the heck is this, USA??), the bigné at the end where way too salty, the zuppa inglese I thought the chocolate overpowers everything in it and I know this changes based on taste buds but the Tortellini with 36-month Parmigiano reggiano was a little be too strong of a flavor for me. The burger comes in a little box like at McDonald's, but being so small I call it "unhappy meal" lol Not the best restaurant I've ever eaten at (and especially not for the high price) but overall excellent and excellent service.

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience. We started with the mini burgers, perfectly cooked with extraordinary flavor. The kind of starter that immediately sets the bar high. For the main course, we each had the fusilli pasta with shrimp, red vermouth, and lime. Truly mind blowing! Flavors we’ve never experienced before, perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection. To finish, the chocolate dessert simply melted us away. Hands down one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. This restaurant is a must. Words don’t do it justice. You have to experience it yourself. Highly, highly, highly recommend!

We had the "we ❤️ Modena" menu with wine pairing. The wine pairing was great, really well chosen wines and delicious. The food all looked beautiful, but seemed like an interesting idea rather than something made to be delicious. There wasn't a dish that we loved.. we really enjoyed the overall experience, but found the food very disappointing.

I am still trying to understand why Bottura would offer food that borders on inedible. We’ve been to Francescana as well as many outstanding restaurants like Le Bernardin many times and Rezdora in NY and Bocuse in Lyon, Alma in Lisbon, fantastic meals in Paris, Rome, San Sebastian but never have I experienced food where the flavors were so extreme like in the tortellini with parmigiana cream or fussilini in shrimp reduction the alla diavola chicken makes me wonder what he is trying to convey with such harsh flavors. Is this supposed to challenge the customer? Sure the bread basket was quite good as was the pancetta and burger but that is where it ended. The primi and secondi were almost inedible. If I had not taken a train and taxi from Bologna to get there I would have walked out and gotten a slice of pizza down the block.

A place really special. Most of foods are really good and delicious yes. Specially tortellini alla parmigiana like most people say. As a dolce that cake more delicious than zuppa inglese.! Also all vines were so good. Prices are high of course you should know that but must be tried once.

Dishes were objectively tasty for a sister restaurant of a world famous Michelin restaurant. Strangely, however, it was not memorable. Not sure if the missing ingredient was love. While service was good, I did not feel warmth or sincerity. Staff were rattling off the description of each dish as if they were robots performing a parody of a typical fine dining experience, where servers mumbled a string of complex words and diners pretended that they understood everything. Good to make a reservation esp on a public holiday and the weekends. Parking was quite challenging (I parked about a 10-min walk away at Garage Italia). Anyway, glad that I tried Franceschette58 to check off my list.
