A perfect stop close to the highway if you come from North or Northwest and travel to Adria coast or Toscana/Central Italy. Lots and lots of parking spaces, shops of all kinds, restaurants, cheap gas stations here. There is also a giant coop grocery supermarket.

Beautiful clothing, sportswear, electronics, jewellery, personal care, and home décor stores may be found here. A wide range of food and beverage options are available, as are almost all mobile phone service providers. Having a large supermarket with affordable pricing and a wide variety of deals has made it my go-to shopping destination. Taking a stroll with your family or friends is also a fantastic idea because of the large corridors. Take a shot at it!

A quaint park. Very degraded and run down by OECD standards. The lake water was soupy green but had thriving turtles, introduced Castorino (large rodents), ducks & coots.
It's quite a relaxed place but could do with a bit of money being spent & refreshed infrastructure considering its a major park in a decent sized town.

Park seems strangely built,still sort of trying to figure out the layout but nice park, perfect for getting in shape, a lot of runner space. Kids play areas/football areas and little cafes with seating areas. The pond is also a nice addition to completing a day to the park.
Nice place for baby to play and know about nature. But unfortunately, some of toys has broken, need comune to fix it soon, so baby can be more enjoy...

Galleria Estense is a must-visit attraction in Modena, Italy, showcasing an impressive collection of 14th to 18th-century Italian paintings and sculptures. Housed in the elegant Palazzo dei Musei since 1894, this art gallery features four large halls and sixteen rooms filled with diverse art collections amassed by the Dukes of Este.
Wonderful gallery with a lot of really good paintings. Imagine how great the famous Estense collections were before Napoleon looted them The library is also worth a visit.

We were in Modena for a few hours, so we decided to stop by. The AC was very strong, which was a relief since it happened to be a very hot day.
Entry is free for minors (under 18), €2 for people aged 18-25, and €6 for normal visitors. There are also free (and clean) bathrooms, which are very hard to find in Modena!
I easily spent 45-60 minutes inside! The gallery has a small collection of Egyptian artifacts and many terracotta sculptures, oil paintings, marble busts and more. It has a good selection of religious art too.
Well organized modern gallery with a collection of some note, though you’ll have to travel to Dresden to see the heart of the collection, which was sold off in the 18th century. Nonetheless you can see masterworks by de Roberti, Tintoretto, Velasquez, Veronese, Bassano, Dossi, Spada, a great selection of Guercino paintings, and probably the world’s largest collection of Lelio Orsi paintings.
Very large well presented gallery lucky for us. We had a docent who was lovely and explained a lot of the important pieces to us. Highly recommended. It’s air-conditioned in the gallery. They have four museums there. Under the same complex.
A very interesting gallery that is worth visiting when you are in Modena. Paintings, statues and objects from different time periods are presented. Most of them are works of art, related to the region. There are some very impressive specimens.
Quality, rarity, paintings from the 13th century through the 18th century. Friendly, warmth from the associates. Well worth the 6 Euro fee for those outside the European Union.
A very old collection that has aged beyond beauty. Superb. Do not miss the Gallery Estense. Check hours in Italy, they are there for amore not the money. An easy walk on the main road, Via Emilia from the tower in the center of Modena. The entrance is too the left. On viale Vi Veneto.
A very beautiful gallery. Many impressive and very colorful religious paintings but also some statues and musical instruments.

Trattoria Aldina, located at Via Luigi Albinelli 40 in Modena, offers a taste of traditional Emilian cuisine. Tucked away inside a building with other businesses, this restaurant may be easy to overlook but is popular among locals for its authentic homemade dishes and friendly staff. The cozy atmosphere resembles dining at a relative's home, giving off a comforting Sunday meal vibe. With its unassuming appearance on the first floor, Trattoria Aldina provides an authentic Italian dining experience.
It is recommended that you go as soon as it opens, otherwise you may have to wait for an empty table. The pasta and meat were very good. The panna cotta prepared woth amarena cherries was excellent.

This traditional trattoria was recommended on many blogs we read and the lonely planet book, a lot of hype. It was absolutely incredible - bustling with locals and serving delicious traditional pasta cooked perfectly. Some of the best food we have had in Italy. Left my husband speechless. Do the pasta tasting menu - we had tortellini with butter and sage, and the gramigna sausage ragu both were highlights!
If you’ve searched for an authentic Modenese dining experience, Trattoria Aldina will have certainly appeared in your search results - and for good reason. The obligatory queue before opening time is richly rewarded for its patience. This bustling and efficient trattoria packed full of diners anticipating their meal has the atmosphere of a big family occasion. The food is sooo good - obviously home cooked and freshly prepared. The accompanying wine options are fitting and everyone leaves with a feeling of satisfied contentment. Make sure you get to dine here at least once during your visit to Modena.
Very pleasant visit. Friendly service even though it was very busy for lunch, locals and tourists. Delicious food and reasonable prices. A bit challenging to find, I’ve included pics of the entrance and stairs up to the door. Definitely make your way here for an authentic experience.
Great place to eat, very authentic with just as many locals as tourists. The place was super busy at lunch and the food was very good, staff was very polite despite being slammed with tables. Worth the visit is in Modena. My wife and I had pasta, split a secondo and a side with small bottle of Lambrusco, dessert and 2 caffes and it was 56 euro, a solid deal for all we had.
Some of the BEST food our whole trip. We were recommended to come here after our balsamic tour and were soooooo glad we did. If you’re reading this review do your best to get a reservation, otherwise jump on the waitlist ASAP! We’re vegetarian and they had plenty of options and every dish was delicious! Also the owner was so accommodating and we appreciate how hard he worked to make sure people could get a table and eat the amazing food!!!
Located just up a staircase this delightful place with most delicious food is definitely worth a visit. I’d love to come back here and will be dreaming about the gnocchi for a while. Service is quick.

Bottega Mamma Puglia is a small, intimate Italian bistro with an energetic atmosphere. We visited Modena today, stopped in for lunch at Bottega Mamma Puglia. We enjoyed Pocce, Nostrana sandwich and the meatball Pocce. Amazing! From the bread to the caramelized peppers and Burrata, tender meatballs Delicious Italian sandwich. The service was friendly and charming. We would highly recommend having a meal here while in Modena. ❤️

Immediate addiction with the bowl of scrumptious Tarallini All'ol'io (we bought two bags to take with us). The meatballs/polpette were sooo good and the vegetable plate burrata e sapori Della Terra was amazing. Mozzarella was incredibly fresh/young and delicious.
Absolutely loved the place. The food is simple, yet the taste is incredible. Good quality ingredients and so much flavour. We went to try the sandwiches for lunch and went back for a bottle of wine and dinner too. The one dessert they have on the menu was a very nice surprise. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for classic Italian cooking with a bit of a twist, this is the place to go in Modena. The food is delicious and the atmosphere charming - perfect for a romantic evening out.
Hidden gem in Modena, exceeded our expectations. The tortellini en crema was amazing and the hamburger was over the top. Excellent wine selection and very reasonable prices. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Great lunch, lovingly prepared with top ingredients. Very nice waiter who gave good recommendations. The tartare di manzo (handcut) was beautiful, pickled red onion - ansjovis and mustard to spice it gave great tasting sensation. Scallops nice as well. Then came beautiful lamb for my husband who loved it. I had the spaghettone which was a fantastic dish, raw red shrimp tartare on spaghetti was a revelation. Accompanied by a nice bottle of red wine advised by the waiter. And the dolci were also great. We sat outside as weather was nice, but inside looks great as well! Thanks for a memorable lunch guys!!
We were in Modena on a Tuesday night and decided to drop by here for dinner. Since it was white truffle season, I had the poached eggs with white truffles and the pasta with truffles.

We had the paradelle with ragu, their “special” pasta, a fish tartare, and their fried seabream with green beans and the custard with blackberry sauce.
The ragu was slightly salty, but my kiddo loved it and devoured the entire bowl. I don’t care for the raw tuna and shrimp in top of the special pasta, as I didn’t think it added much to the pasta. However, I love the el dente-ness of the pasta and the sauce. There was so much flavor and depth. Easily one of the best pasta dishes of my life.
I thought the seabream with crushed pistachio with green beans was delicious! And the custard was amazing! Not overly sweet and very creamy. It was so good, we had to order another one to share.

We were very much looking forward to stopping for lunch in Modena on the way to bologna. We came a very long way, and Unfortunately, this was the only experience we had in this town. We ordered two pastas, very clearly stating which ones and it was confirmed by the waiter. We got a bottle of wine, and received the first pasta after 20 minutes. We then waited for over an hour and no one had checked on us. No bread, no one asking if we were okay or if we wanted something else… no update us on when to expect the ragu. We finally asked after an hour and 30 minutes for an update on the second pasta and found out it was never put in. We left still hungry and having no more time to explore the city. There were only 7 tables so I don’t think it was an issue of being too busy and it was not due to a misunderstanding or gap in translation. We did enjoy the first dish, which almost added to the frustration because we would have liked to try more. They tried to make it right by putting it in once we asked after an hour and 30 minutes of not being checked on once in a tiny restaurant, they still did not offer to make it complimentary. It’s a shame as this was our first and likely last experience in Modena.

Insolito Bar is a great place for good local food with a view over the Ferrari Park. It's casual, relaxed and has great service. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a drink or meal with friends.

Locals-only experience in Enzo Ferrari park one breath away from Modena’s Centro Storico. We loved the vibe and the laid back ambience of this spot and the gnocco was outstanding! Like a cloud of happiness that melts in your mouth with delectable cold cuts, washed down with a good glass of Lambrusco. Doesn’t get more Modenese than that!

A simple place with great local food. Go for the gnocco fritto & tigelle with mixed cold cuts. As the owners describe it theirselves: "la forchetta è di plastica, ma il gnocco è d'oro", "The fork is made of plastic but the gnocco fritto is made of gold".
Good range of tigelle, gnocco fritto as well as piadinas. Best if you escort this yummy food with some local wine like lambrusco, in one of the several available variety. I'll be back there, next time I'm in Modena

Da Oreste is a down home cooking restaurant that takes its inspiration from the 1950s. The menu is extensive and it was great to only have been there once as there were many dishes wanted to try. The food was delicious, authentic and affordable. The staff were friendly and the restaurant itself was very atmospheric.
You can feel the warm and friendly service as soon as you enter the restaurant, with the rich and delicate menu even regulars will not be disappointed.
It located in Piazza Roma, the restaurant specializes in traditional Modena dishes, making it an ideal choice for family and friends to enjoy!
The chef's respect for the cuisine is evident in the care that he takes great care in selecting the ingredients.

This place has amazing potential. The service was great and the room beautiful. The kitchen seemed a bit young or with a less experienced staff. Some dishes miss the balance in acidity and flavor. My fillet was rushed, undercooked and was not allowed to rest so it resulted in mediocrity. I would love to watch this place grow into something special with all the history it brings.
Made a reservation online via the website months ago, but did not get a confirmation. No email address on website. Messaged via instagram to follow up- got no response. Went to restaurant tonight and door was locked at 7:50pm despite Google saying that they were open - everything looked dark inside so we left.
I was the only guest -- I guess 8 pm is too soon to have sinner for most people -- so I received the full attention of the very attentive staff. The food was really amazing, simple but perfectly done, just as real Italian food should be.
We spent a lovely night dining in the square in the front of the restaurant. Truly cozy and romantic environment with live music (piano and violin) in the background (rent by the restaurant) in a sixties style environment. Delicious dishes both classical of the region/city as well as innovate. The service was truly gentle. Definitely recommended!
Final note: do not forget to try the dessert named Oreste, the preferred one by Enzo Ferrari.
Really nice traditional restaurant. If you want to immerse yourself in a time where pavarotti was still alive you should go and eat here. Excellent pasta dishes, all hand made and very delicious. Nice staff, affordable, timeless. Loved it.
Slow, old, but food was ok. Homemade pasta!
Charming Restaurant where nothing changed since the 70'ies, including an old jukebox with italian songs. The quality of the ingredients is very high, most items on the menue are home made. Nevetherless the price is way too high for what it is. Maybe we payed a tourist price, but 9 euros for a really small salad as a side dish is too much. The whole bill for the meal for 2 persons was around 100 euros. Compared to other restaurants with similar quality this is almost the double price. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Enzo Ferrari Museum, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Centro Commerciale La Rotonda. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Definitely a Must! The scenography of the cars, the presentation on the big screen, the location, the Supercars exposed…. Could have spend more time there but had to leave for the rest of the journey after a good 2-3 hours visit! We loved it!!! Will come back to admire art on wheels!
The Ferrari Enzo Museum continues to be one of the most rewarding stops for any automotive enthusiast — and an absolute must for anyone who loves Ferrari. On my latest visit, I was pleased to see how much they’ve improved the main display hall. The new layout makes it far easier to walk around the cars and appreciate them from every angle, which really elevates the experience.
The tribute film dedicated to Enzo Ferrari remains a touching centerpiece of the visit. It’s beautifully put together and adds emotional depth to the museum, reminding you of the passion and vision behind the brand.
The standout for me this time was the F40 LM — an icon in its own right and an unbelievable sight up close. It alone is worth the trip.
Overall, the museum is a fantastic place for any car fan, and for Ferrari enthusiasts it’s nothing short of special.

Such an amazing display. The video presentations and abundance of information was fantastic. Photos documents and history in the 2nd part of the exhibit has hours of extra enjoyment for the Ferrari enthusiast who really wants to see the details. Just amazing. You can drive a virtual Ferrari or enjoy walking through the cars on show. Arrived by bus from Bologna, it was easy enough to find with google maps. We purchased tickets when we got there. We only did the one museum but a 2nd extra one is available when you purchase your ticket. Price was fair. Access to this museum was easy by bus but I’m not sure about the 2nd one so research ahead.
The visit to the Ferrari Museum left me underwhelmed. Given Ferrari’s storied legacy, I anticipated a richer exploration of the brand’s history and Enzo Ferrari’s life. Sadly, the museum lacks depth, with sparse details on the iconic founder and the company’s evolution. The car collection, while sleek, is a bit limited, featuring fewer models than expected. Interactive experiences are minimal, with just two small exhibition halls that feel underwhelming for such a legendary brand.
Amazing display, emotional atmosphere with very rare hyper cars. Allow 1.5 hours for a proper visit of both buildings.
Parking can be found most days on the surrounding streets.
Beautiful display of Ferrari supercars, but that's all this museum has going for it. For instance, they have gutted and not restored Enzo's original workshop. Literally no trace of it remains. They have a small (possibly restored) version of his office, but that's it. Tons of history is missing. Gift shop is ridiculously overpriced. If you want to see Ferrari supercars (and are willing to spend 27 euros apiece to do so) then go. If not pass.

Incredible palace. One of the best that I have ever seen. Great art work on the walls and other sculptures inspired by Ancient Greece. Also there is a part of the museum for kids! It’s a must visit in Manitoba. We were staying in Verona and family that leaves in Verona told us that we have to go! My daughter who is 4 1/2 years old loved it

A lovely little playground tucked beneath the shade, perfect for kids to enjoy without the midday sun. The park is filled with the unmistakable buzz of cicadas, giving it a true summer-in-the-south feel. It’s also a great spot for a stroll, featuring a picturesque pond teeming with hundreds of vibrant koi. While it was fairly quiet during our morning and early afternoon visit, it’s easy to imagine the place coming to life in the evening—there were areas clearly set up for live music and beer taps waiting to flow. Looks like a fun community hub later in the day!
Great place to spend some time when visiting Modena with children. There is a playground and a marry-go-round (single ride goes at 1.50 EUR, discount is available for multiple rides) as well as a nice bar with outside seating and small live music stage. One star off as the restrooms were further from both playground and bar.
I found it while walking through the city, it was really surprising to see such a beautiful garden with spectacular fountains and statues well shaped. Also there qre green spaces with nice flowers and some water turtels and fishes in the artificial lake

Pleasant park which I came across while walking from the train station to the town centre. Contains the attractive Palazzina Vigarani. Not exceptional, but much better to do the walk through greenery than along busy roads!
The park is very helpful to clear your mind and relax. Parks are missing in many old Italian cities with historical centers, so it can be hard for the eyes and soul with all the old things around. Beautiful in autumn!

Best of the best in all of Italy in my opinion. I’ve tried all kinds of gelatos in Venice, Florence, Bologna, and Rome. Bloom is the best. On top of that, you can go across the street and have balsamic vinegar added on top ;)

Gelateria Bloom offers both gelato and granita for sale. You can tell they make a good product by their smell, feel, and especially taste! You don't find much gelato in Modena so I'm glad this place exists. Gelato aside, the granita was especially fun! Off beat flavors like passion fruit really show their creativity. Staff does speak English and an English paper menu was available at the counter. Prices are about as much as you'll find in any other gelateria. I'd happily return any time.

Had an excellent experience eating at La Lanterna. The menu is available only in Italian, but our server was gracious enough to help us through ordering. If you don't speak Italian, I would recommend brushing up on a few simple food words. Pizza was 10/10 delicious and a great value for your money. One pizza should be enough to satisfy two people but it is so good you may want to order extra for left overs. It seemed to be recommended to call ahead but they were able to accommodate two of us walking up no problem. Maybe on a busy night that wouldn't work as well? All said, this pizzeria was an awesome treat for our fist night in Italy!
