Next, we walked a little bit and entered the military museum. All these places are highly recommended. We were four people and it took almost 7 hours to complete. Not everything was written in English so we were quick to skip some of the things we did not understand the importance. You can take pictures and video without any restrictions. Just a quick tip, there is a nature reserve just 9 kms away from the castle. We had a picnic by the lake and surrounded by trees.

I found the Jukka Korkeila exhibition particularly disturbing—not really my taste and not something I’d recommend if you prefer more traditional or uplifting art. Overall, it’s an okay stop if you’re already in Hämeenlinna, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.
