A great experience to be able to inhale “salty” or “sea like” breeze that is produced off of the grassy twigs where the water trickles down from. The current entrance fee is €1,50 for adults. It is easily accessible. There is also a small elevator inside so that those who have walkers/strollers could easily access the second floor without any problems. There is plenty of free parking nearby. We visited during the week, so it was absolutely a wonderful walk without having to fight through the crowds.
The last time we came to Bad Durkheim the gradiation tower had been destroyed by arson. Seeing this fully repaired and working is fantastic.
Well preserved ancient place. More to learn for me. Fresh air, gardens, past irrigation systems. Well maintained. Kudos to the team maintaing. Bring level 8 reviewer in Google that too from India, this is outstanding.
One of my favourite places in the region to chill out either alone or with a friend! The „sea- like“ breeze is great and fresh! The entrance fees costs less than 2 Euros ( 1.50) and no time limits which is reasonable.
Very beautiful and healthy area. Also recomended make a promenade in park and city. Already 5 visit and still enjoy it ;-)
This was my second visit to the Salinen wall. We were here in 2017. So this time, we made sure to visit. The wall is about a mile walk all the way around. The water off the salt grass is good for your lungs. Highly recommended
Intetesting place, nice suroundings. Worth for a short visit. The village is not something special
What a great area. Tons to do and loved the relaxed atmosphere. Stopped to stretch our legs and let the dog out. Went for a little walk and explored the area. From a stream to the work out area and a pool, pretty much everything you need and could want. Interesting seeing how the water is filtered. Can’t wait till everything opens back up and we can go in and see how it works.

Beautiful area and great food. Service was nice and it was worth the hour drive. Robe the bike up here and it’s a climb just be ready for that. Great views and many more remains in the area
This is a beautiful ruin with plenty to explore, as well as a restaurant in/adjacent to it. We came here thinking it was only accessible by dining there, but we weren't even able to due to a concert and a wedding happening that day. Nevertheless, there was still a ton to see and appreciate on the outside of the abbey and the inner courtyard of the abbey, though I would have loved to climb the tower if that's still allowed at all, as well as go into the crypt. We parked immediately next to the abbey, though the walk from the nearby town seemed like it would have been fairly easy and beautiful, as well as well shaded and stroller accessible. Highly recommend, and may come back again to see if we can explore more on a week day without other events happening.
After a long hike through the forest, we stopped here to look at the ruins of the abbey and stumbled across the little restaurant. Most excellent! We felt immediate hunger. So, in we dug. Coffees were excellent while we waited for the food to arrive. The soups were delicious. I had the beef broth with a sliced liver dumpling (Leberknodel); others (without the refined palate required for liver), had the potato soup. We then tucked into the spatzle with cheese and onions. We were well looked after by the staff and, re-invigorated, set forth once again into the woods.
Very good restaurant to enjoy good food outside under old remarkable place
Cool place to check out. Nice lawn on the back side to picnic. Resturant and separate drink stand during Non COVID times. Public restrooms on site as well.
Very tasty, but took quite some time until served
Beautiful medieval Abbey with the grave of Gunhilda of Demark, consort queen of Germany that died in the year 1038. Lovely view and tall walls. Currently the crypt is closed as the repairs of the restaurant building are being repaired from a fire a few years ago but should reopen sometime in around June of 2020!
Quiet, relaxing atmosphere with excellent food and good views to boot!

This ruin was a wonderful surprise. We came here as a party of two adults and three children ages 5,3,1.5. I wore the baby and the kids walked. The parking lot was easy to find, and signs to the castle were not very obvious but got us there, and once on the main path up, there's no way to get lost. It is uphikl but not grueling and both my older kids were able to do it without assistance,if a little complaining. That path is stroller friendly but the castle, of course, isn't. There is a little lookout right before you enter the castle which has an ok view and some seating. You enter the gate and come into a courtyard and see the ticket office, and from there you can enter the main body of the castle once you buy tickets (we only paid for the two of us adults, as the kids were free). This is when we were astounded - this castle is HUGE, with so much to see and explore, and in pretty amazing shape considering. The tower is a long climb but worth it. There aren't a ton of seats or any picnic tables throughout and I think the only bathroom is near the ticket office. There are frequent signs saying what each room was, and if I remember correctly there is a map giving more detail. The exhibits in and near the ticket office Are all in German. Nevertheless this is one of my favorite ruins so far, especially given the easy access from the parking lot. Bring snacks and water as you might be there a while. Of note, there is an awesome biergarten behind the castle, a 5 minute walk past it after you go through the courtyard and make a left UP the hill (not down). It was closed the day we came but it has ample outdoor seating and a great little play area for the kids; I hope to come back just to eat here.
Sadly, a big part of this is closed for renovation. Nonetheless, you do get some beautiful views up here. It costs nothing to visit, parking is free, and the climb us easy, so come visit.
Great Schloss! It is a short hike, so not too much walking, but there is a lot of walking on the inside it due to the large size. This is one of the better ones in the area and I highly recommend. There are some lunch tables available, if you bring your own food or there are a couple awesome restaurants that are right there.
There's a parking spot right next to a hotel/restaurant and the trail starts right behind it. A bit of a steep hike up but it's a clear gravel path Very well preserved. Unfortunately, when we went the castle was closed so we could only walk around outside. Still great views and will have to return when it opens back up. Other trails around the area.
Beautiful visit, thank you so much. Actors in the castle, telling the story dressed up in medieval times. °German and English only° No restaurant.
Quite interesting castle ruins just outside Bad Dürkheim. Some beautiful views and panoramas. Wear good walking shoes as some paths can be slippery.
I would not follow the GPS because that takes you too far. There is a hotel on the right that has parking with the trail right there. Easy hike up. Beautiful views and if you schedule a tour you can see more of the castle.
Beautiful castle ruins and scenery. Sadly it is closed and you can only walk around the castle. Parked down by the hotel and walked up. You can also walk behind the castle as well. Overall it is a must see.

A lovely hotel located in beautiful gardens & park, 2 minutes walk from the centre, bars & restaurants. On entering, there was parking (at a charge) & an EV charger. Only 22kwh but charged overnight at a flate rate of €30 which is reasonable. The receptionist was very helpful & made us feel welcome. The rooms, while didn't have air con, were very spacious & although looked somewhat dated, they had more of a cool retro vibe to them. Almost Ikea-ish if that makes sense. The view we had was excellent. All toiletries, towels etc. were provided as expected & the beds were very comfortable. The building itself is extremley impressive & a wonder around the grounds gardens is a must. The breakfast was good & with plenty of choice. We sat outside as it was a lovely warm summer morning & watched the small birds jumping around in an attempt to pick up scraps. Very relaxing. To sum up, the hotel was excellent & we well definitely be returning. 5 stars!
To be absolutely honest, I'm not sure how the hotel is a 4stars. Firstly , the room is clean but the kettle was disgustingly dirty and the table fan (yes table fan and no aircond for 4stars hotel) given was broken so I had to call the reception to change it. Reception couldn't understand my English although I understand she clearly wanted to help but took a while and a few repeats of explanation to address my complaint. the in room tv was all germany channels and a hint of some English channel but it says no satellite connection thru my 4days stay.Like comments from the others, the hotel feels dated and 80s and can smelly musky. The restaurant services were great and friendly however, being a 4stars hotel , the morning and afternoon buffet spreads are limited choices for hot dishes , cold spread having a little more variety but for someone that doesn't like cold food , I'm only limited to a 3-4 trays of selection.
Spacious hotel in center of town, private parking , friendly service. They revamped the place but some parts still feel a little dated Located next to a big park, good wellness accomodations, generous breakfast buffet. Some rooms have a little balcony with a view of the park. Our room had a little bit of a dusty smell which reinforced the dated feel
We expected more but it was quite alright. The food was good and the pool was great to relax. The fitness room was poor.
I booked this hotel for my birthday. The room was more out dated than the pictures online made it out to be. I booked the “romance/couple” package which included a spa massage and oil bath + a candle light dinner and other inclusions. The spa is its own business in hotel, but they booked my appointments and never notified me of the times. I planned on a late check in because me and my husband had to work, and they booked our oil bath the day we arrived at 5pm even though online i posted a late check in between 8-9pm. They just hit me with the “we’re booked sorry” and made no accommodations. I just thought it was rude because i called twice before we arrived and asked about booking the spa appointments and they kept telling me to “call back later” because no one at the desk could help me. The night we checked in he called and said we could ask the morning of because our massage appointments were booked the next day in the morning. The front desk at the spa again was like “we’re booked, sorry” and never tried to help. I felt frustrated because I paid for it this “package” and never received some of the services but was just “out of luck”.
Having obvious walking problem but still sent to the furthest room (others were booked for the same group, dispatch done by the hotel receptionnist), besides having a half bed in addition. Meeting room on the first floor with no elevator highly inconvenient to attein for me
Wonderful. A very interesting building. The Pfälzer know very well how to host. A perfect getaway feeling.
The hotel backs on to an amazing garden with a lovely park down the road. Very central to the town. The buffet breakfast has a great variety foods. Parking at the hotel for us was about £12. Would definitely stay again.

I was confused about what this was exactly based on the Google Maps location information and reviews; I figured it was a ruin of a Roman villa and winery, but there were opening hours and a type of building that most ruins don’t have. Indeed, it is “JUST” a ruined Roman villa and winery, though there is a closeby winery, which seem to be a separate establishment from the ruin. That building is a covered/enclosed part of the ruin that that is inaccessible for entry unless you have a guided tour (though you can see inside pretty well), but the outdoor section is freely accessible 24/7. I came here today on this hot August Monday afternoon with my three kids ages 6, 4, and 2 years. We parked at the lot about 100 meters south of the ruin - it can be seen on Google Maps via satellite view, but there is no Google Maps location there (though I did request the addition of one). The lot is large but very sunny with little shade. There was a paved path leading up a slight incline to the ruin; a stroller would have been fine but the walk is quite short, and my three kids did it in about 15 minutes (I'm sure less than 5 minutes for many adults). Once at the ruin, there are stairs you can climb but I think you can see most of it without, though the stairs and halls through the ruined foundations are quite fun to navigate through, and there are informational signs hidden throughout the ruin. There are tons of diagrams showing what things looked like back then, and lots of information only in German (I haven't yet had a chance to translate them, which is hard to do on the spot with three small kids). The area is quite sunny but has some shaded spots. An unexpected, very interesting find were the coffins with a listing of the bodies and accessories found in them. You could look into the inside and see most of it, if not read the signs on the walls - it looks like it is meant to show what the interior of the villa might have looked like. There was not much in the way of seats in terms of benches or picnic tables, but plenty of rock walls and stones to sit on. We spent about 30 minutes there (including having a snack that we brought with us) before moving on to the Romankelter, which was the Roman winepress maybe 100-200 meters along the path (I don't remember if signs pointed to it, as we used Google Maps, but it was just had to go down through the grapevines one section and make a right and there it was). There is an enclosed building there that you can look into to read the signs and see some artifacts. That was a very short visit, about 5-10 minutes, though I didn't take the time to translate all of the signs. Again, plenty of rocks to sit on to rest or picnic. We had the fun opportunity to see some alpacas being led along the path as we went back to our car. Overall it was about a 1 hour visit for both together, including having snacks and walking; it may be shorter for people who walk faster than my kids or maybe longer if you take the time to read all of the signs. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are close to the area - I'd drive up to an hour for this as it was beautiful, informative, and fun to explore. Or drive farther and make a day out of it visiting nearby wineries! There is also another Villa Rustica about 15 minutes north that may make a good addition to the day, though I haven't been there myself yet.
Free to get in and walk around. It's OK. Allow 10 minutes. Good views. Information boards are all in German. Good light show when there is a festival.
Looks impressive from distance with Roman columns standing against the sky. Am I in Tuscany? Closer, the reconstruction looks quite cheap, almost plasticky. Still, there are the remains of walls, a selection of Roman sarcophagi and lots of information boards. Not worth a massive diversion, but nice to spend 30 mins. Offers grest views across vineyards.
Nice place surrounded with wine-valleys and delicious wine from the region.
Great place to be during the Weinbergnacht festival... great wine tasting and hood local food.
Short day trip…
Small site with a history behind. Splendid views of the valley make it a nice bike or walking destination. They should post the info in at least on other language
Went there during a wein festival and this is the photo you see. Looks ok.

Love this museum! Small, but big enough for a few hours. Our 7 year old enjoyed the (few) activities. Our 3 year old enjoyed the many animals (mounted). Excellent price.
Was a very nice place. Kids had a great time, parents as well. You can look through microscopes at different bugs and other objects which is very interesting for young children. It looks small from the outside but once you get inside there is lots to see and experience.
Nice little museum witch has a spider exhibition at this moment. Most spider's are hiding during the day but you can make it into a little game who can spot it first. What surprised us the most was the beautiful special stone collection, it's amazing what nature can produce. It's cheap but it's cash only.
A place to remember! 🌟 Fun activities, beautiful souvenirs, memorable experience.

I don't gamble. I just went with my friends. It's clean and nice. But I can't give any other feedback
I enjoyed quite a few nights while I was visiting the area for 3 months. As far as casino staff is concerned this may be the best group of staff I have ever encountered in any casino in the world. I became familiar with the staff pretty quick and they made the experience better. Even on the days things weren’t going to well. The staff earns this place the 4 star rating. Water is more expensive than beer by the way! Lol
A very nice place. Watch your wardrobe. The surrounding is great and at late evening this place has a big charm. You feel like you're in a movie. Great!
This is a nice casino with a few roulette tables and blackjack. They tend to keep all the tables crowded, so be prepared to get to know your fellow players.
Not sure if there was a funeral going at the same time however if not this possible happen soon taking into consideration the average age.
Cannot believe I lived here a year before finding out about this poker room. Nice place
Fun and easy to play the slot machines.
Poker tournaments are a lot of fun.

The picturesque, historic architecture of the location immediately enchanted us and our guests. The romantic courtyard in particular was the perfect backdrop for our celebration. The organization was exceptional - everything ran smoothly and lovingly, always on an equal footing. The tarte flambées were delicious and the Bioland wines were simply indescribably delicious! A real highlight was the covered wagon tour, where the cultivation of the wines was explained to us in an exciting and humorous way. It was also an item on the program for our guests that will be fondly remembered for a long time. All in all, a day that we wouldn't have wanted to celebrate anywhere else. Absolute recommendation for anyone looking for a special place for special occasions! Thanks! Danke!

Starting from the Bronze Age, the Celtic camps and graves, the Romans with quarries and villas, the Franconian princely finds right up to modern times. Entry is free. What we liked best was the information about the graduation tower, which we had visited shortly before. Very interesting and informative. There is no entrance fee to the museum. (Translated by Google) After the renovation, the museum provides a didactically well-prepared view of the city's history (it's worth taking a tour in 2018 and coming back too, because all areas will be accessible again from spring 2019). The diverse finds from the Celtic period are particularly fascinating. Bad Duerkheim's citizens were and are traditional "citizen scientists" and today's museum also benefits from the pleasant aspects of a lived, educated citizenry. Bad Duerkheims Buerger waren und sind traditionsreiche "citizen scientists" und auch das heutige Museum profitiert von den angenehmen seiten eines gelebten Bildungs Buergertum.
