It's the center of the city, around here you will find great places to eat and drink, always can have a visit in the cathedral.
Really beautiful city centre, has a square with beautiful trees, walkways and benches. Church is stunning. Whole place is very family oriented with regular events for all ages with streets closed to traffic. Which I really loved as traffic fumes in Santa Cruz can be quite overwhelming..
Very nice landscape, colonial buildings around. Many pigeons and children playing around. I would recommend it for a quiet day outside. There are many restaurants and ice cream places nearby
It amazed me how Bolivian people occupies their public spaces. This is a beautiful plaza close to a lot of dinner options.
It's like to back in time. Nice to seat for a little meditation and enjoy the view of the old cathedral
Very nice plaza. There are many benches to sit on and chess tables to pass time. The park has many coffee vendors that walk around and sell cafe con leche (local specialty). It was very nice to enjoy a cup of coffee and gaze at the surrounding architecture of buildings and cathedral
The main place to start visiting the city. Only extreme bad weather will empty it... always with visitors and locals enjoying the pleasant weather, even at early hours of the morning. Coffee runs around in little carts for sale to amenize conversations and just to take a minute in the simple pleasures of life, like friendship and a good company. Locals meet regularly and some take the challenge of a chess game, others find their spot to refresh from the heat of the day, but all soak in the warmth welcome that this city has for everybody.
Heart of Santa Cruz. Great people watching. During the day it is nice to enjoy an ice cream or a cocktail nearby. You will see older men reading the paper or playing an intense game of chess. Families and groups will come out and walk around. Vibrant space during the weekend.

It's very difficult to describe the feeling when you walk into this cathedral. You can definitely feel the spiritual weight. I highly recommend checking out this cathedral and being at peace.
A stunning cathedral, positioned in the centre of the city centre. Standing in front of the main pity plaza. It's definitely worth visiting.
Beautiful cathedral filled with history, I was there at night and the plaza its very safe to walk around. There were some people asking for money but they were very polite and would walk away.
It’s very original architecture example of the country and Santa Cruz dela Sierra and located in the 24 de septiembre square. It’s huge and sophisticated. You can make a return around at the right side of the building at the night to many small hand crafted sellers around and in the small square some street art or dance that you can see.
You can climb the bell tower too. This beautiful church added to the magic that was sitting in that plaza almost every night.
Beautiful old brick church. To go up in the clock tower it's 3 Bolivianos, well worth it, and hundreds of steps in a spiral staircase. The views are wonderful. Be careful if going to the top where the bells ring on the hour, very loud! There are two other floors to stop and take pictures from. The church itself doesn't have gold inside and has cobwebs on the wooden vaulted ceiling, but nice anyway.
Sadly enough, the Catedral Metropolitana Basílica Menor de San Lorenzo (1845) is about the only sight to see while in Santa Cruz.
Nice place to walk, apparently it’s safe during the night too.

Its a very nice and lively place, many good restaurants for all ages and tastes!
Everything is overpriced🤨, a typical westerns styled mall with brands costing more than in Europe. The environment is nice though.
I would love to give the mall 5 stars however there is a store called H2O that schemes people out of their money. I should have called the police. They give you one price when you enter then a different price when it's done. They target people who they feel have a lot of money. I will never use this location again. Very disappointed in management and the translator. This makes me not want to visit Bolivia again, authorities should investigate this operation.
Seemed very nice, with a lot of light, a lot of stores, and many options. The food court was very nice as well and with multiple interesting alternatives. I'd say the part I didn't like from it is the street side that isn't so clean and has a lot of beggars and kids sleeping around...
Very nice place, the best shopping center that exists in Bolivia, highly recommended to visit. 🤍
Absoulte overpriced mall, the goods are even more expensive than in Switzerland. A complete tourist trap.
Must visit! Loads of shop options, great food court as well as gaming floor
Great place to take your kids and do shopping. You'll find many stores (clothes, house furniture, electronics, shoes, groceries, etc), the only thing that it is missing is a hair and nail studio. There is even a tattoo studio here. The prices are fair you'll find many sales and food options.

One of the better zoos I have visited. There is an aquarium and a herpetarium. All the species are native to Bolivia. The gardeners do a magnificent job.
Beautiful place, mostly clean with lots of flora but still a long way to become a good zoo. Animals need more space and a better environment according to their natural place of origin. Also more signaling needed, signs are too old or non existent.
Clearly the communist regime and the mediocracy of the native people have taken their toll. Lack of maintenance and almost half the variety of animals aren’t there anymore. Many farms could give you the same animals to see in better conditions
Cleanliness could be better. Average waiting times when I visited. Animals look stressed (perhaps because of the large crowd). Overall a good educational experience for everyone but you can tell animals are not having a great time surrounded by hundreds of people
Diverse little city center zoo that has much to offer, especially if you wish to see different things than in Europe. Good for kids with a couple of playgrounds. You can even get diapers at the toilets. A great afternoon stroll with a hand ful of highlights such as sloths, jaguars, tocans... Recommended!
Every major city has a zoo. This one isn't that large but they did have a significantly large exotic bird exhibit. My kids are crazy about birds so I thought I'd take a look and share the pics with them. It's nothing to write home about but if you are in need of an activity while there it's an excellent option.
Best tourist attraction in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. It has more than 100 different species that can be found only here in Bolivia. Great guides throughout the zoo, and an overall amazing experience.
Don't go there!! Worst zoo I've ever seen. Animals are mistreated, they have no place to move in their cages!! Horrible

It is a priceless experience where you can enjoy nature with your beloved ones. Children love to see and enjoy the beauty of wild and protected animals in wide and clean areas.
Beautiful Place with a vide variety of plants and wildlife in general. It is really worth it to take a long stroll in there since there is just so much wildlife to discover once you just start looking around you. I hope that they will be able to better their upkeep but taking the huge space in mind they are doing ok.
Foreigners pay Bs.30 to get in, and you can stay until 6pm. If you're looking for a beautifully-manicured garden, don't get your hopes up, but it's a good shady, green place for a stroll, and deeper inside there are hiking trails through some very nice tropical forest (beware of mud and out-out-control mosquitoes). There are big tortoises living on the lawns not far from the entrance, and you can sometimes see caimans in the big pond. If you're a little lucky, it's possible to see sloths and howler monkeys around the pond area or a little farther in.
It's a nice place to walk around. The from off the park is quite pretty. The mosquitoes are very hungry. They get really bad the further back into the park you walk. The large open roads have fewer mosquitoes. The paths that are further back can get very muddy as they are not paved. Several items/ areas are off-limits for repair. The whole place could be gorgeous if more attention/ work was given. Overall we saw a cayman, a Tegu lizard, and a few birds.
I went on a Monday when they were supposed to be closed but they were open and there were other people there also, but not many. This is a great place to explore the local flora and fauna. I saw monkeys, turtles, even alligators! I also saw some big lizards but they like to hide from people and are difficult to see. I enjoyed a few hours here exploring the trails. It was hot and sunny and so I didn't need bug repellant, but I did need a LOT of sunblock, so if you go on a hot sunny day, ditch the repellent and slather on the sunblock. Unfortunately, a huge part of the park is closed due to "maintenance" and you're not permitted to enter, though there's also nothing to stop you. I erred on the side of caution however and didn't venture past the posted sign (see photos). There's a tall lookout tower you can climb that offers some views of the surrounding area. There are also some activities for kids. Overall, it was a nice place to pass a few hours. It's quite far from the center of Santa Cruz - $6 - $7 by Uber each way. Entry was $10Bs. I wish the rest of the park was open, but I'm happy I went. I think it's worth checking out if you have some time to spend in Santa Cruz.
A botanical garden of a different kind. A bit wild but original. Make sure to bring insect repellent even in dry season. Entrance is 10 BOB, kids are for free. Uber is a good choice to get there. No wifi for the way back... Recommended.
5 star because -price is only 10 bs -many buses that bring you directly front door 2 bs each eay -mini zoo( lovely birds, turtles, crocodiles, etc...) -Garden is so so but you can get a private guide from personal for free or tip) -map of the place disadvantage: those damn musquitos destroyed me & no food but you can pay 20 bs and use their bbq facilities
El Jardín Botánico de Santa Cruz, is a big lovely and very cheap place to go for a whole day with your family and friends. Specially if you like plants. Entry was only £1 pp. you can also take your food and drinks there as they don’t have a restaurant working at the moment. There was a bendy machine thou. You can ask for the bbq area and take tents ⛺️ and do camping. Be aware of the mosquitos 🦟 🌱

Great place to know and to walk. The price to enter is just US$3. You can go just to know, taking on a 4x4 jeep, or you can walk for about 2 hours (7km) since the entry of the park, where you can arrive taking a "micro" in the city.
Can take a local micro to get there easily. We took bus 109. When we came it was rain season so all the roads were so muddy you couldn't walk. But we still found a nice river and could relax and picnic. Would not recommend in rain season unless you go with a jeep. Found frogs.
I was at this park about a week ago. I had not read the reviews on google carefully (A mistake from my side and just want everyone reading this review to be aware). I was using a taxi to do sight seeing in Santa Cruz and surrounding areas. The driver mentioned that he has been to this park about 10 or 12 years ago. So, I took it for granted that he knew the area. From the main entrance it is about 3 Km walk or drive (normal cars are allowed in this stretch of the access to the park. However, it is better if you have a a four wheel drive). The sand is very soft but we did not have any issues driving this 3 Km to the access to the park. This access is manned and only four wheel drive vehicles are allowed beyond this point. The entrance fee per person is 20 Bolivian currency, which is roughly 3 US$. The name and details of persons entering is registered in the entrance log (however, when we returned, there was no one at this gate and our exit was not recorded. Not sure what happens if you get lost or have an issue while walking to the sand dunes). I had asked my taxi driver about how much is the distance to the sand dunes and he said it is about 2 Km. It actually was 4 Km and it took us one hour to walk to the foothills of the big sand dune. Did not have the energy to climb up this sand dune. We had made the mistake of not carrying water and snacks. I was tired but we did not rest, we walked back to the gated entrance, which also took us about one hour. Pls be aware that there are no shops / stores within (There are cabanas and accommodation for tourists in the area) this area to buy water or food. Pls pack water and snacks before to start this 4 Km walk. If it is a sunny day, then pls also do what you have to do to protect yourself from the sun. The sand is very soft and your shoes (foot) does dig a bit into the sand as you walk this 4 Km.
Lomas de Arena is a small natural wonder of 3000 hectares of sand dunes located 17 km (45 min drive) from the city of Santa Cruz Bolivia. Take your water and hat for the sun.
You have to overcome tough access road in order to reach marvelous&unexpected desert area in Bolivia. 4WD vehicle is must to navigate Worth to & must visit place in Santa Cruz de la sierra if u stay few days or live there
We took the bus micro to the beginning of the park. It was raining a lot for 2 days so the roads that lead to the park were too muddy to properly walk.
It's amazing. But there are no kiosks, trails or any kind of services.
Surely the four-wheel drive is necessary. 4륜구동 필수!

Nice little spot to watch birds. Shame about all the trash in the lake. Needs a good clean out and get the fountains working
Parque El Arenal is a peaceful, green oasis located in the heart of the city. Its lush landscape, featuring well-maintained walking paths, fountains, and diverse plant life, offers visitors a serene escape from the urban hustle. The park is ideal for morning jogs, family outings, or simply relaxing in nature. There are also playgrounds for children and plenty of benches for those who wish to enjoy the surroundings. Additionally, the park hosts local events and cultural activities, making it a vibrant part of the community. Overall, Parque El Arenal is a lovely spot for both leisure and recreation.
nice park close to Plaza 24 but always pay extra attention for phone or bag snatchers
Nice peaceful relaxing just watch out for the pigeons
very entertaining park. lots of shows and activities. close to many restaurants less than 3$. cop station within park. safe and entertaining.
Nothing exciting, too bad there's not much to do there. but I do like the fact that there's water in the middle of the park.
Stopped by the park briefly when I saw I was near and I'm glad I didn't set aside some time for a specific trip. Seems a nice enough place to sit down with a bit of atmosphere but that's it.

It was quite nice, we had a good time with our nephews and nieces. They jumped on the trampolines, and rode one of the many carts. There are paved roads for pedestrians and several kiosks for refreshment. The many trees give shadow on hot days, and you can enjoy a picnic under them.
This park is huge. From one end to the other end, walking along the paved walkway in the center of the park, is about 0.5 Miles / 0.8 KM. I found this park a nice place for my morning walk. The walkway in the center of the park is covered by trees, which means that you do not need a cap / hat if you are walking on a sunny day. There is a jogging / walking path around the park, which many people were using. People do bring in their dogs also for walks / training in this park. Outside the paved walkway, you need to be careful as not everyone picks up after their pets. I saw most of the dog owners cleaning up after their pets but did find some waste in the grass, out side the paved areas. Although Google says that the parks opens at 0800 Hrs, I found the place left open at 0700 Hrs. Looks like it is left open 24 hours, but I cannot say for sure. But I have been walking in this park from 0700 Hrs. There is a BBQ area within the park. Not sure about the rules of using these BBQ areas. This park also has basket ball courts.
Parque Urbano is a modern, spacious urban park in Santa Cruz, offering a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. With expansive green areas, well-maintained walking paths, and recreational facilities, it’s ideal for outdoor activities such as jogging, cycling, and picnicking. The park also features playgrounds for children, sports courts, and tranquil spots for relaxation. A large artificial lake adds to the park's appeal, attracting visitors for boat rides or peaceful strolls along its shores. With its diverse amenities and lush surroundings, Parque Urbano serves as a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike.
A dog will be happy to come here is beautiful to run and play. Families come here to share their time together, I'm happy to came here, I will back (I recommend to visit at nights personally it's better 🧡👍🏼)
This park has been big, with full trees and real nature for wasting your time with friends or pets
Nice park. Lots of stuff to do. Lots of things to see. Great treats you can try.
Kinda boring, dry and actually nothing really to see. Neither saw many people there or people playing sports. Could be that I was just unlucky
Very average park. Really not worth visiting, but great to stroll around if you have time to kill. Snacks and drinks are offered and there's a bathroom inside the park.

Specializing in South American fauna, it provides a safe haven for native species, many of which are endangered or threatened. Visitors can see a variety of animals, including jaguars, capybaras, monkeys, and colorful birds, all housed in naturalistic enclosures. The zoo also plays an important role in conservation and education, offering informative displays and activities for both children and adults. With its lush surroundings and diverse animal residents, the Zoológico Noel Kempff Mercado offers an educational and enjoyable experience for nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
Nice zoo, but the big cats enclosures seemed much too small. Looked for the wild sloths but didn't see them. Staff were friendly & most were helpful.
Very clean and organized place . A big diversity of animals
Good price but kind of depressing, the big cats have tiny cages and are clearly frustrated just walking around in a circle for hours. There is a huge place that you can walk through full of birds, tortoises and a reptile or two which was amazing but then we saw the exact same birds separately in tiny cages. The zoo looks run down and needs a lot of work and TLC for the animals.
Peaceful and full of comfort, But need to supplement more animals and renovate some attractions for kids to attract more people
Santa Cruz zoo is a place to visit if You like to walk and SEE wild animals from south america. Birds, monkeys, turtles and other small animals are free in the zoo. There are restaurants, and candy bars. There are guides but You can walk without one.

Waterfalls

This is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen, natural fresh and very clean water, great & peaceful, the local people are super friendly. It’s a bit far from town but that’s what makes it special. You must bring food before going in thou because when I went during the week there wasn’t any food inside. It is also dangerous, rocks are very slippery and you must be careful but it is a must go.
The waterfall is very nice. It was on national holiday so there were so many people but almost all locals. It was nice to see those people. You need to take a truck to get to the entrance after the bus ride. It was 15bs. If you prefer less people, i recommend that you go on the weekdays.
Took the micro that good to El Torno. The driver told us where to get off. We bought water and then went on a truck to los Espejillos. It was probably an hour on a bumpy dirt road. When we got there, we walked back in, about half hour, and it was gorgeous! It's not a difficult hike, yet it's not easy for the elderly.
(Translated by Google) They charged 4 tourists' tickets without providing the service of letting them access the waterfall. They refused to refund the money. The place is beautiful and if it weren't for such people, we would bring hundreds more tourists. But there are many other tourist attractions in this beautiful country <3 (Original) Cobraron 4 entradas de turistas sin brindar el servicio de dejarlos acceder a la catarata. Rechazaron la devolución del dinero. El lugar es bonito y si no fuera por tal gente, llevaríamos cientos de turistas más. Però hay muchas otras atracciones turísticas en este país hermoso <3
(Translated by Google) A must see if you are in the Santa Cruz area. Admission costs 20bs and on Tuesdays they do 2x1. I recommend leaving early, since it takes 1.30 hours to get there from the city by car, and the park closes at 5:00 pm sharp. The place has barbecue areas and grills for grilling. Beautiful waterfall and many smaller waterfalls to cool off and play in the water. A very beautiful and quiet place, surrounded by birds and sounds of nature. I recommend bringing sunscreen and insect repellent.
(Translated by Google) Natural waterfall, the complex is managed by a community with a large garage for vehicles, you can camp or rent rooms to spend the night. You can bring food to prepare or coordinate with community members to get food You can get there by road to Cochabamba km 23 or so or by the road that leaves from Porongo, recommended for 4x4 vehicles. To get to the waterfall you follow a natural path, you must be careful because there is a lot of humidity and the path tends to be slippery (Original) Cascada natural, el complejo está administrado por una comunidad con amplio garaje par a vehículos, se puede acampar o alquilar cuartos para pasar la noche. There are deep and deep pools up to 11m so it can meet all the expectations of many people, adventurers, families, children. It would definitely be ideal to accommodate the road as soon as possible so it will be a more sought-after place by people. Another issue, I think there is a need for more facilities, restaurants, accommodation, with a little increase in the level of service, definitely a more emblematic place will remain here🇧🇴👍the only shadow would be since the place is not so spacious if it becomes saturated with people will not be able to enjoy bathing well 곳임.
(Translated by Google) Adventure tourism; the drive there is like navigating a rally-style track—the road is in terrible condition, with numerous streams crossing it, and you'll endure a constant rattling before arriving. Once there, you pay the entrance fee and parking fee, and then it's a walk to the main waterfall, passing by a series of natural pools and trails with wooden railings, and even crossing some rustic bridges. It's a good place to explore, take a dip in the waterfall's crystal-clear water, and snap some great photos. There are restrooms and a few food stalls.
