We have been here with family few weeks ago. The ZOO is very nice and big. All the animals have very big place for life. Looks that they are so satisfied wit it 🙂. If you are going there in the middle of the day, you have to calculate in that there is not a lot of hideaway from the sun. If you are coming with little kids or baby, better to take a stroller with you, because there is a long-long way to walk (for us- 3 adults- it was almost 3 hours of walking). The very best thing was, that we should see all the animals, because the enclosures of the animals are well built, so if they are hidden from the sun, we can still see them. There is a Dino Park as well (there is no need other ticket to buy, is included the ticket at the entrance). The other cool thing here is, that they have a lot of refreshments buffets and next to all of them there are toilets also. The ZOO in Veszprém is a good journey for families or friends trip as well. Congratulations for the ZOO team!
Absolutely stunning Zoo. Better than the Budapest one for sure! A good 3-4 hours strolling through it. Loads of activities for the kids, big or small. We've really had a great time! Thank you Veszprém Zoo!
The animals look incredibly well maintened. Also the surrounding is perfect. Wide range of animals. Huge amazing outdoor playground for children. It's really a must to visit zoo in Hungary. Especcially I recommend for families with children.
The Veszprém Zoo welcomes visitors in a wonderful, well-organized, and clean environment, reflecting the dedicated care given to the animals, even behind the scenes. The zoo is home to a wide variety of exotic and local species, including big cats, bears, king pythons, turtles, and many mammals, all showcased in naturalistic enclosures and themed areas that make the experience especially enjoyable. A special highlight is the dinosaur park, featuring over 50 life-sized dinosaur sculptures and interactive experiences that transport visitors to the fascinating world of prehistoric creatures. Open year-round, the zoo is set in a picturesque location between Gulya Hill and Fejes Valley, making it a perfect spot for families and animal lovers to explore and relax. More than just a zoo, Veszprém offers engaging community programs, animal feedings, and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. Continuous improvements, a spotless and orderly setting, and diverse animal collections ensure an unforgettable visit. In summary, Veszprém Zoo is a carefully maintained, clean, and friendly place where extraordinary animals, a well-designed dinosaur park, and a natural setting all combine to create joyful and memorable experiences for everyone.
Very big, one of the best zoos I've ever been to, definitely recommend it
Very nice ZOO, a lot of new expositions, you neeed min. 3 hours to pass. Food , drinks, toilets available, possible pay in €. Free parking.
Fantastic zoo, we visited many zoo around the world and this one is one of the best. Lots of space for animals and same time easy to walk and see. Very well renovated
Nice ZOO, clean areal, parking for free.

This year (2023) Veszprém is the cultural capital of Europe. Assuring a really colorful cultural and gastronomical programs. Prepared for this plentitude of events the old part of the city is renovated carefully giving a nice experience for travelers who like historical walks in small cities around the lake Balaton.
Beautiful castle district but we could only see facades - a huge reconstruction project is underway, due for completion in 2025. Still nice for a stroll. It was a Monday so the few things that do open were closed.
Ver nice location, we couldnt visit the entire castle, because of an ongoing renovation
My pics are so ugly but Veszprém is such a hidden masterpiece of Hungary. I rarely see Veszpém in the list of beautiful cities in Hungary to visit on the Internet but its beauty with nature and lovely architecture can blow your mind. Definitely worth a 2-day visit because the vibe there is suitable for relaxing.
Lovely castle hill. Romantic old streets, with authentic historical buildings. PLUS: You can enjoy the absolute unique, beautiful vista from the old fire tower..
I love this place, a quiet and picturesque, historic castle district of Veszprém. The buildings are mostly beautifully renovated, the streets are kept tidy. I'd love to see more places to sit here with a coffee and a biscuit...
This is the focal point of the town. Situated atop a hill, you get great views of the surrounding areas. There are some gorgeous buildings around, moat of them still owned by the church. Well worth a visit.
Historic place, part of the world heritage. Since the founding of the state, the seat of the rulers, burial monuments in the original early Christian churches, royal tombs. It is the scene of many traditional cultural events and exhibitions. Here you will find the Episcopal Palace and the institutions of the Hungarian Catholic Church. From here you can access Mount Calvary to the Staties, at the end of which is the same statue of Christ as Rio de Janeiro.

It has a nice little park which is worth a quick look while you are in the castle area. You can also buy a ticket to climb up the tower which gives a great view of the town, but nothing special to anyone who has already seen a central european town.
Very nice view and walk in the city.
Amazing architecture for the tower, same as the history of the place. Unfortunately we were not able to climb the tower, but still the views over the city from the stone walls are spectacular.
A must see historic part of Veszprém. You can see the whole town from the tower. There is a very nice, well maintained park below the tower. Perfect for a calm afternoon stroll.
My mom always said that I must not watch fire or else I'll pee myself at night. Yet, here they built a whole tower just for that, what you can now visit for a fee.
Cool spot panorama view on the city
Best spot to explore the town. Closed though, but the wall around tower also offers a great view.

(Translated by Google) 2025.05. Very nicely renovated main cathedral and statue. Fortunately, it was possible to go inside the church. I was greeted by a very beautiful, calm, intimate interior. Currently, renovation work is underway around the castle, the buildings are on scaffolding. There is construction material everywhere, but there is no dirt or mess. Unfortunately, the statue of King Stephen I and Queen Gizella cannot be visited because it is barricaded with a screen. (Original) 2025.05. Nagyon szépen felújított főszékesegyház, és szobor. Szerencsére be lehetett menni a templomba.

A plaque on the wall commemorates the battle of István and Koppány near the castle in Veszprém, another plaque commemorates those who fought against the Turks, but we can also see other interesting commemorations. At the base of the gate, Ernő is also guarded by the Kolodko mini-statue. Falán emléktábla emlékszik meg a veszprémi vár közelében István és Koppány harcáról is, egy másik tábla emléket állít a törökök ellen harcolóknak, de láthatunk más érdekes megemlékezést is. I hope the renovations liven up this space again. The place is clean, there aren't too many people in the stores, but there's also not a great urge to go shopping here.
It is a small mall, placed on Budapest way.Parking is easy and cheap. We had lunch at pizzeria the daily special was very nice. Staff were nice too. Thank you
Simple plaza (mall) with a few good stores depending on your taste. Lots of parking. Downfall is the lighting in the parking area, it’s poor and not many lights on. This could be a safety factor… Parking is a paid parking by the time. Couple of places to eat. Mostly deep fried food. Not to many healthy options. Mall was cold. Hence why stores had there heat turned on high.
Hello everyone. Today 2022.12.03 we visited the hairdresser. Usually it's a good haircut and customer service, but not today. It didn't work out the same. Fortunately for us, the master corrected the error. It is always necessary to check the result.
You can get acceptable food for reasonable price, the cinema is OK. There is a tobacco shop. There is paper and soap but other than that the toilets are awful. There is usually parking space here, so it is good for free parking when you are going to see the town. A great grocery will open soon.
The stores here are great, everything you need, there are 3 shops in construction aswell. You can buy clothes, books, toys, shoes, video games, but you can also watch a movie or eat at one of the restaurants.
The plaza has a great underground free parking, lift as well as stairs, H & M,Decathlon , Aldi , Amnesia ,Libri , Cinema City a few restaurants, clothe, shoe, jewellery, handbags and other accessories shops to choose from. However Shop Stop on Cholnolky Street is a far much wide shopping area one can choose if looking for competitive prices and wider range of products
I stopped there just to eat something. The parking garage was in the dark - there was no lights. At the same time since I spent just 30 min the parking fee was 0.

The museum is small, but it's very interesting. It's definitely worth a visit.
Visiting the museum was a disappointment. It has a 3000 HUF entrance fee and it only had 1 small room with traditional uniforms and urban items and a 3 room art gallery. I understand that the art gallery was a temporary exhibit, but still - how can you call yourself a "history museum" and show 1 tiny room of artifacts. For this entrance fee, this museum is a scam!
Well-maintained museum and great staff.

Well preserved christian ruins from very early period of building constructions of the site.
(Translated by Google) The rotunda was built here for the relic of St. George, which King St. Stephen received from the Byzantine emperor Basileus, probably even before the construction of the cathedral. It was rebuilt in an octagonal shape in the 13th century. It was a well-known and famous place of farewell pilgrimage in the Middle Ages. Bishop Albert Vetési (+1486) was buried here. As a result of the battles and fires of the Turkish era, it was already destroyed at the beginning of the Baroque era. In 1957, thanks to accidental luck, its ruins were found. Inscription engraved in the threshold stone: "In limie no sedeto" (don't sit on the threshold). According to legend, Prince St. Imre took his oath here. (Original) Szent István király Basileosz bizánci császártól kapott Szent György ereklyéjének épült itt a rotunda, valószínű még a székesegyház építését megelőzően. A XIII.században nyolcszögletűre átépítették. A középkor ismert, híres búcsújáró helye volt. Vetési Albert püspök (+1486) ide temetkezett. A török kor csatái, tűzvészek következtében már a barokk kor kezdetére megsemmisült. 1957-ben a véletlen szerencsének köszönhetően bukkantak romjaira. Küszöbkövébe vésett felirat : „In limie no sedeto” (a küszöbre ne üljetek). A legenda szerint itt tett fogadalmat Szent Imre herceg.

My friends and I visited Veszprém last weekend for my birthday and decided to check out this party of town which in all honesty, we found by mistake. What a great mistake. This cathedral and the monuments found in its vicinity are simply beautiful. Highly recommended.

A popular meeting place for young people here in the castle. (Original) A téren található Szent háromság szobrot Padányi Bíró Márton rendelte meg 1870. Nagyon illik ebbe a környezetbe. It was a super camp this summer. Great aria and friendly, creative actors-teachers. Thank you so much 🙏🏻💕
(Translated by Google) On December 28, my 5-year-old grandson and I went to the Pig and the Goose performance. In short and concisely: it was TERRIBLE!!! Neither ears nor tail, no round story, the best part of all was the duration, the only 40-minute performance. According to one of my acquaintances, its content is a bit "abstract", which I couldn't really articulate even with a 70-year-old head! I don't dispute it, maybe I'm too conservative?!?! The environment and the speakers were great, I don't know if I will take one of my grandchildren there again!
(Translated by Google) Kabóca is one of the best places in Veszprém for both adults and children. Approx. we were at most of the performances and maybe there was one that didn't go over so well. My favorite is Miú and Vau de a Tenger Unnepe, Szélkötő Kalamona, Csalimese, László Vitéz, Sebestyén Sárkányölő, The Fisherman and the Ambitious Wife, The Girl Who Didn't Speak are all lasting works, and I could list more. Fun for children and adults, sometimes makes you think or touch you. The company is like a theater family, and we are almost "going home". Everyone is very nice and the place itself is tastefully decorated. Five stars.
(Translated by Google) Today we were at the Sélkötő Kalamona performance. It was very scary, especially the part with the turtles. It was not clear that they defeated the Kalamona in the end and did not just drive them away. We are used to plays that are less scary for children. But I really liked the previous show. (Original) Ma voltunk a Szélkötő Kalamona előadáson.
(Translated by Google) It's a baby-friendly building with very, very nice employees who show infinite patience for scattered mothers. And the shows are always great fun, not just for the kids! It can be a real quality family joint program!
(Translated by Google) The figure of Kalamona was very memorable for my 5-year-old grandson. After the performance, I had to talk to him a lot to erase the black terror from his thoughts. I liked the rest of the performance. Great sound, good acoustics, wonderful show by Katie Melua!
Great place for watching sport events such as the Veszprém Handball competitions as well as training for sports. In addition there is Thaibox club as well and Brazilian Jujutsu classes for kids as well as for adults during evening/weekdays .In addition the place holds workshops during different times of the year, career fairs e.tc
Easy free parking. Great crowd. Really enjoyed the game
Venue great. We saw Tom Jones here. He was fantastic. On form. Only problem was the camera man kept swinging the camera back and forth. Right in our eyeline blocking our view to Tom's face every five minutes. There was no formal introduction for a megga star. Also the overhaul sound was poor.
