Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Miniature Village. Very reasonable cost of £4 per adult to enter which gives you access to the Miniature village established by a husband and wife team and run by themselves. The houses look brilliant, enhanced with information plaques to tell you about the majority of them. Great fun for the family. A must for anyone in the area
This is a small attraction built by one man in his (very generously sized) garden. The exhibits are done well and he does a fantastic job to maintain all this by himself. I think you would get more out of your visit if you know a lot about the Lakes and the buildings which he has replicated although he has placed information at a lot of the pieces. This isn't a long exhibit though and children should be supervised at all times. The ground is uneven in places and we had some issues with a member if our party who has mobility issues. Some areas would not be suitable for wheelchair users.
Very interesting and so much wotk has gone into each one, years and years of work. Fascinating. Very chatty friendly owner who obviously loves what he does.
It’s a quirky little place, we visited out of season and had the place to ourselves. There’s obviously a huge amount of work been put into the place and it has a real charm. The effort that’s been put in is worth the £4 entry fee. It’s as quintessentially British as it gets.
Had a lovely time at the model village. So much love and attention has gone into the buildings. The Japanese garden was a nice surprise too!
A nice little stopover after a visit to the South Lakes Safari Zoo. The miniature buildings are very detailed, lots of years of love and effort on display just in his back garden. We stopped over 3 years ago and again today, as our girls remembered and had asked to go back.
Words can't describe how amazing this place is! Such hard work has been put into these models. They are lovely to look at and the creator is happy to answer any questions you have
Cost 12 pound for 10 minutes visit for 2 adults and 2 kids, so not really good for value, but OK if your into small houses. If your not.... I'm pretty sure it's not for you.

A really friendly team here. Everyone is helpful and thoroughly professional. I would recommend anybody who is thinking of doing a skydive to use these guys. Also the views over the lakes are fantastic on the way up in the aircraft and when you are descending under the canopy. The instructors are able to help you relax and enjoy your whole experience .
The guys and girls here make you very welcome, and work so hard, from safety training through to the jump and afterwards they look after you and make sure you have the ultimate best experience, top skydive centre. I jumped with Ralph, he was talking me through every step right up to plane exit then we just enjoyed the thrill of the fall with my lovely cameraman Radek (I think that's how its spelt) Absolutley amazing experience - 2 jumps completed with these guys - 100% fabulous!!! (I said this was my last jump, it's not! Already plotting next years trip!) 😉
Unforgettable Experience Many thanks to all the staff at skydive northwest. From Dennis (The menace) who checked us in to Leanne in the office and George for the initial training in the hangar. They put myself and my son at ease from the word go. The dive was booked by my son as an Xmas present as a father (67 years) son (27 years) experience. I think it was a Breaking Dad moment!! I must say everything was done very professionally and what was going to happen explained to the last detail, and we were put at ease by all the staff. Dennis in particular was always available for a friendly chat with 2 nervous first timers. Most of all, thanks must go to my dive buddy instructor (Peter Connor) and my son’s instructor (Danny Coultrup). They went through everything meticulously in the hangar beforehand and double checked everything onboard before leaping out. It was very professional. Yes I cannot deny I was nervous but I felt safe in Peter’s hands so did my son with Danny. Everything went exactly to plan as described by them. It was a beautiful sunny day and the views were incredible from 14,000 feet. Special thanks must also go to cameramen Sion and Steve. They lightened the mood with a bit of banter but most importantly took some incredible photos and videos of the whole experience from kitting up, walking to the plane, onboard, skydiving and landing. Memories we will always have on film. Can’t recommend skydive northwest highly enough. A great day out. Rod and Theo
What an amazing and wonderful experience. I had a fantastic day from start to finish everybody I met was so nice from the gentleman taking our names to the girls in the office the gentleman who took us through safety procedures and what we needed to do. I have to say my camera 📷 man, Owen, did a fantastic job. I am so pleased with the way the video and photos have turned out. Last but not least, my instructor for the day John Howard. He made my whole tandem Skydive fun and enjoyable. I don't think we stopped talking and laughing until we moved to the door edge of the plane. Oh, and there was no chance of me backing out, we were at that door as quick as a flash and before I knew it, we were out free falling. I felt so free. Seeing the underneath of the plane grow smaller as we fell away from the plane was amazing, definitely a wow moment. Then Owen came towards us, and John did a spin around a couple of times. Then time was up, and the parachute was opened, and how quiet it all was up there. He let me have a little stear with him and then a few spins. I loved it and embraced the whole experience. The ground was quickly coming towards us, the landing was soft. I smiled, laughed, and giggled all the way through. John definitely went above and beyond to make my experience so great, making sure I was OK all the way through. A big thank you to Owen and John for making my day so magical ✨️ 🪂☀️📷
Skydive Northwest, located at Cark Airfield in Flookburgh, Cumbria. My skydive experience is unforgettable! Special shoutout to Ed, the incredible instructor, and Radek, the skilled cameraman, for making it even better than I could have imagined. You guys are amazing!
OMG what an experience..... it was my first time, probably not my last. great photos and video by Sam. My instructor John Howard was amazing, very reassuring and made the whole experience memorable.
Had the absolute pleasure of experiencing a tandem skydive at Skydive Northwest yesterday (27.04.25). Arrived at time slot selected and booked in. Staff friendly and efficient, had first training instruction with team member George who was lovely and put us at ease. Later we were called through to meet our professional tandem partner. I was with a guy called 'John Howard ' a really nice guy who then got me suited up and gave further instructions and put me at ease about what we were about to do. I chose to be filmed for a keepsake and this was done by Katie who not only filmed us but was also an amazing skydiver. All the way through the experience John was amazing and i couldn't thank him enough for an incredible skydive. Thank you Skydive North West, your staff are a credit to you and to anybody would would love to try this adrenalin rush experience I would fully recommend it. Tracey x
An absolutely amazing experience! My first time. You have to experience this! Ralph my instructor was amazing! Made me feel really comfortable and at ease. Sam made a lovely film for me and took some amazing photographs. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. From the check in with Dennis all the way to the end. On the plane making jokes to keep us all laughing. They really look after you. I am in awe of how efficient and smooth everything is run. I will definitely be back! Thank you to everyone at Northwest Skydive. You are awesome!

Fun day out for the family as kids help feed the animals.
If you are stopping at the Haven next door, then do make the effort to spend a day at the farm. We went with our 3 children and they had a fantastic time. Opens @ 10:30am til around 4:30pm. Closed on Tuesdays though. Different events timed throughout the day, inc bottle feeding lambs and meeting animals. Food is available at very reasonable prices. But plenty of picnic tables if you bring you own. Park on site to and a soft play area for younger kids. Plenty for everyone.
The kids always enjoy Duckies....age 2, and 7. The play area is superb, and the seating is laid out in such a way that you can generally keep watch of the younger ones. Food is fine, and staff are helpful. Pricing is a bit off-putting late in the day, as you have to pay for farm and play area access, even if its raining or late in the day and you just want to let them have a quick play.
We drove a fairly long way on the basis of a flyer advertising the farm as open all year except the Christmas period. When we got there we found a barrier was pulled over the entrance and a woman explained they hadn't bothered opening that day as no one had visited the day before. Absolutely rubbish, if they don't want people out of season they shouldn't advertise as being open. I wouldn't make the effort to drive even half a mile to visit it now.
Fairly quiet day , so we got access to everything easily. Lots for all ages , and some great areas to interact with farm animals. Two large zip lines, indoor and outdoor play. Reasonable price.
Took my family and friends had an amazing day. So much to do, indoor play, huge out door play area, feed the animals or take the barrel ride. The choices are extensive xx
Very disappointing. This place used to be a great place to take the kids when it was duckies farm. Cumbria World are still changing full price for a half open facility. It's even worse than last year with tractor ride not even on this year. Save your money and give it a miss.
Lots to do, petting and feeding animals, soft play and outdoor play. We really enjoyed and were there for hours. Our favourite bit was the big bus
