Water & Amusement Parks
Theme park
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a renowned resort offering an array of thrilling rides, rollercoasters, and attractions for younger kids. Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment, shows, and dining options. For a different perspective of Blackpool, tourists can explore the area by bike using Cycle Blackpool's 24-hour urban bike-hire scheme with numerous locations across the town. The flat terrain and well-signposted routes make it ideal for cycling enthusiasts.
Very nice theme park directly at the coast. During our stay, most of the rides were operational and they only had to close "The big One" due to high winds. Both Valhalla and Icon were absolute highlights for us and make the trip to the park worth it by themselves. The park was spotless and the employees were all very friendly and competent. Food, drinks and souvenirs were reasonably priced. Souvenirs were often unique and of high quality. The entry fee is quite steep for a single ticket but get SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper when you buy multiple tickets online. We parked directly at the North entrance, which was pricey, but there's cheaper parking available nearby. We were not aware that we could not bring food I to the park, which was slightly annoying and we had to put it into a locker outside the park that costs 8 pounds for the day. Check what you can bring with you before you come here! We had the VIP speed passes, so wait times were a non issue for us - but these passes are enormously expensive (we only got them as the visit was a birthday present for our two sons). However, you can buy speed passes for single rides directly through the excellent app if waiting times turn out to be too long. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend the park to friends and family, should they ever travel to the area (and have an interest in excellent and exciting coasters).

The pleasure beach is very much reduced since we last visited. I believe you have to buy tickets to ride before you can go inside. There used to be lots of stalls games food etc. That s all gone. That end of the town is pretty much shut down. No open businesses on the promenade. The illuminations are really nice they've been dramatically updated
Goldbargurl — Google review
Really enjoyed the day not been since I was younger although I live in the town! Bought tickets in advance so had an e-ticket which was no problem. As a resident you do get a small discount. Think we payed £35 per ticket. Lots of rides to suit all ages. Small rides had pretty much no queues , the large rides like The big one, avalanche, Icon had to wait 30mins, but worth the wait! Love the old fashioned wood rollercoaster unfortunately the big dipper was closed but the grand national was open. There is a hog warts train which goes round the park , which is great for little ones and grownups. The station is a good replica of an old fashioned station. Park was very clean, toilets spotless and attended always cleaning the loos. Staff great happy to help and very friendly. My only complaint is not enough signs telling you where rides are. You can download app and there is a map on the app, which is easy enough to use. Arcade on site with traditional 2p machines and others, small stores like hook the duck and basketball ball games. Burger King , Cafe, and other stalls selling chips ect. Well worth a visit if your in Blackpool

Even though it was windy, cold, and wet at times, we had a great day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The queues weren't too bad, and the rides were great. To be honest you really need longer than a day to get around all the rides, and next time we will attend for 2 days. At this time of year its getting dark around 4pm, so you have a few hours riding in the dark 👌 I went with 4 stars due to 3 main issues. 1. The on-site carpark is £18 for the day 🤯 Ouch! I feel that is a little steep, but it does keep the carpark quite available, and there are other carparks available nearby if you don't mind a little walk. 2. They only allow bottles of water to be brought into the park. We turned up with 3 small bottles of pop and were told we needed to either throw them away or store them in a locker on the external side of the park. The only reason for this is to encourage you to buy drinks in the park, and no other reason. Personally, when there are 3 paying guests, all with 1 small drink each I find it inappropriate, and not like we were all bringing in several 2-litre bottles for the day. We didn't take any food with us, as we intended to buy food inside, but you will also find no food is allowed to be taken into the park either to encourage you to buy inside the park 🤷‍♂️ 3. The price for the lockers are also ridiculous. £6 for a small locker, £8 for a medium sized locker, and I believe the large lockers were a tenner 🤯 We found out that only medium lockers were still available, so we paid £8 to store our contraband pop in 😂🫣 All in all we had a great day, and next time we will come more prepared 😊👍

Staff are friendly and helpful. Rides are amazing. Food and drinks are good quality and not quite as expensive as you might think. Getting in when you arrive can take a bit of time but security is there for everyone’s benefit so you just need a little patience. If you’re visiting with family, I’d strongly suggest a go on the Alice in Wonderland ride as it’s looking fantastic this year! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
David K — Google review
This park was THE surprise of my UK tour. On our visit, the park luckily wasn’t very crowded, so we got everything done including re rides. All of the major attractions were open, even though it was looking like we would miss out on the Big One, but they got it open. Operations on all of the rides were quick, the Burger King inside the park allowed for cheaper food options, and the park was well kept. I was especially surprised by the atmosphere of the park, and by the super kind staff. I highly recommend a visit to this underrated park, and I highly recommend trying out Enso, it’s worth the extra money.
Johan P — Google review
Absolutely love it. extreme thrill coasters like The Big One (a hypercoaster) and Icon (a double-launch coaster), numerous historic wooden roller coasters (like Grand National and Big Dipper), and the immersive Valhalla water dark ride Family friendly environment.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 We visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Saturday 18th October and had a good day overall. The park was nice and quiet so we managed to get on all the main rides several times which was great. The queues were short, the fast lines worked well and most of the staff were friendly and polite. It was also good that the rides stayed open right up until the last riding time as stated. There were a few things that let the day down a bit. Not all of the rides were open and the park looked quite run down in places. There were some rubbish bags around and quite a bit of litter which made it feel a bit untidy. It also looked a little tired and could really do with some care and updates. Food options indoors were very limited too, with only Burger King open and the staff there weren’t the friendliest. It’s still worth a visit, especially when it’s quiet, but it would be nice to see the park given a bit of TLC and for the website to show clearly which rides are closed before you go.

The Blackpool Tower

Mentioned on

The Blackpool Tower is an iconic Victorian structure that has been a central part of the seaside resort's history. Alongside other notable buildings like the Winter Gardens and Pleasure Beach, it has contributed to Blackpool's popularity as a holiday destination. The Tower features attractions such as the Tower Ballroom, Circus, and the thrilling SKYWALK offering panoramic views of the North West of England.
So much better than I thought. The 4D cinema was great. Staff were lovely! All explaining and answering any questions we had. We're a big group of 14 but it was never an issue. The views were great. Wish id set aside more time for here!
Kelly O — Google review
Fantastic experience all round. Loved the 4D experience and reading the history behind it, as you walk to the 4D and lift to go up. All staff were more than friendly and the views were phenomenal 😊 only bad thing was that the engineers were late to test the lift and we couldn't go at our normal time, as it needed work doing to it. We then had to rebook. We were only here for the night so had many more things booked but thankfully, they had a slot much later in the day.
Lyndsey R — Google review
I last went up the Tower sixty years ago this month, so it was a very emotional and poignant treat. I LOVED the viewing platform, last experienced on the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon near Las Vegas on our honeymoon. Great photo opportunities at the top of the tower, but I was sorry I didn't have time to read the boards depicting the fascinating history of the Tower. Loved the quirky beachhut themed loos!
Karen W — Google review
Fun days out here over the weekend. The multi attraction ticket is great value and you can easily spend 2-3 days enjoying the tower and sights. The weather wasn't great so we sheltered in the Ballroom for a couple of hours and it's a very comfortable, pleasant way to chill and pass time, watching the dancers and enjoying the atmosphere. The circus was as great as ever and the kids really enjoyed it, the water finale seems to be a bit lackluster compared to times gone by though sadly. - make sure you queue up at least 45 mins before your timeslot to get a good seat. The tower eye had great views and helpful staff on the elevator - but it took us nearly an hour to get up there in the queue which was a bit of a drag. The dungeon was brilliant, wonderful actors and amazing atmosphere - really enjoyed this attraction and the people running it should be proud.
Adam T — Google review
Had a great time at Blackpool Tower! We did the 4D cinema and then the Skywalk — the views were absolutely amazing. The staff were really nice too. Honestly, it’s a must-try experience at least once. Standing that high up and looking out over the city was incredible. I’d definitely recommend it! Tip: book your tickets online to save time and make the whole visit smoother
Warda B — Google review
I've not been up Blackpool tower in years, so I took my 2 youngest to sample the tower 😂 All the levels at the top were open so we were able to get as high as possible. I wouldn't have minded a look from the crows tower, but that's not allowed 😂 It's a simple experience, but great to jump on the glass floor looking down 😂 then you can navigate the spiral staircases up to the open tops 👌 Great views and an experience. Not too costly, but a definite attraction to visit when at Blackpool! We did Dino mini golf afterwards, again cheap, only 9 holes, but worth a go. Thanks Blackpool! 😊👍
Steven L — Google review
Very smooth process when you purchase tickets in advance, upon arrival our tickets were scanned. 4D experience was great really enjoyed something different. Absolutely loved our trip up the tower fantastic views of Blackpool and famous landmarks. Would recommend.
John G — Google review
Fantastic attraction. Loved the views from the top and the glass floor area. Bar at the top was great too. Simple selection of drinks but a nice touch to have a pint at the top of the tower. Before you get to the top you get a photo taken bit on the pricey side bit still a nice memory. The 4d experience was really good and would recomend placing yourself somewhere near the middle to get the full experience. Lifts were what you would expect from an attraction over 100 years old. Slow... But it's worth it when you get to the top. They should offer a better option to view the whole of the tower experience. The ball room was closed for a private event when we visited. Great place to visit for the whole family.

The zoo also provides train tours and offers discounts for members. In addition to the zoo, Blackpool has plenty of attractions such as the iconic Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach Resort, three piers, Winter Gardens, and Grand Theatre.
Fantastic afternoon out with the wife, lovely and quiet (early Oct visit). My wife went round in her mobility scooter and she found it easy to get round. Very accessable into all the enclosures. All the animals are well looked after and nice to see ongoing improvements around the zoo. Looking forward to returning next year with our grandson
Bazza 2 — Google review
10/10 brilliant day out. We spent about 4 hours here. Loads to see, lots of animals. We even saw the baby elephant too. Food was handsome bit quite pricey, we bought online lunch tickets so turned out a bit cheaper. Take your walking shoes though.
Kelly F — Google review
Great zoo, lots of animals to see, and enclosures are well designed to allow outdoor and indoor viewing. It was quite cold and wet when we went, but we were still able to see all of the animals even if they were sheltering inside. We were told that a baby elephant had been born very recently and were really lucky to be able to see her in the afternoon when it was quieter. Lots of maps and well signposted so you can easily see where each animal habit is located. Quite a bit of expansion and improvement work on some of the enclosures (giraffes, wolves) so some areas were closed off, but still plenty of places to see those animals. Only seemed to be one main food area on the site, which got very busy because of the weather. Lots of picnic benches but very few under cover. I think there are a few other little food and coffee booths but they were closed when we went past them. Halloween theme for Half Term, lots of skeletons and spider webs added to the trees and walkways, clearly a lot of effort made to create the atmosphere, was a lot of fun trying to spot the little things that had been hidden away. Wizard themed event trail for the kids to follow. We had paid for tickets through a promotion at our hotel, but there was only a separate queue for members, everyone else waited in the same line so no apparent advantage for pre-booking online.
Steve E — Google review
Really fantastic zoo, went in with lower expectations as have enjoyed some of the larger zoos in the UK, however this one packs souch in while remaining fairly small to walk around (which is a huge plus, especially with kids!). Good range of different animals, the gorillas and the baby orangutan especially were great to see. Big plus that the restaurant has decent options plus a Subway inside so you're well served for a quick lunch too.
Andrew D — Google review
Hand down my favourite zoo! Clean, fantastic range of species and great layout. Absolutely amazing and a great day out. Only just managed to see it all in a day but had to rush near the end end. Will definitely be going back!
Chris A — Google review
A great place to visit, just the right size, so you can spend quality time with each exhibit. Loved seeing the baby elephant, amazing. Each enclosure looks well looked after & new things going on. The only thing which I would like to see is somewhere enclosed for people who brought packed lunches, it was raining at lunchtime when we went & not any dry places to sit & eat. The zoo is good value & great if you have Tesco points to swap. Would recommend a visit to this lovely zoo.
Helen D — Google review
This is a smaller zoo that is making big improvements to the animal enclosures. Membership is reasonable and visited October during wizarding and Halloween activities. The staff are friendly except staff member on train who was making it clear he wasn't happy with the train not working correctly. The tigers are beautiful and recent baby elephant is worth the trip alone!!
Rachael G — Google review
Brilliant zoo. The elephant house currently has reduced opening hours to support the wellbeing of the new baby. Loved the Halloween pop up shop and quest. Can get busy but there is ample parking and once inside there is enough space to not feel busy. Beware of seagulls trying to steal your bucket of chips!

What a great experience me and my family had here today. all the models are amazing, the rovers return was great to stop and have a drink in this iconic British pub. the staff were great it's a must see attraction at Blackpool.
Blackhatter1980 — Google review
A great place to visit while in Blackpool, well worth a visit and good value when brought as part of turn blackpool days out pass. We spent around 2 hours here looking around, and the kids enjoyed it too. Even met Taylor Swift while we were there, she was a bit needy and kept asking for an autograph. Thor needs to hit the gym, hes let himself go.
William W — Google review
Its been a while since i last visited the wax works. we decided to go and give it ago and for £48 for the family ticket it was not the cheapest. We enjoyed our time here seeing the different people and having phots with them. it was not too busy at the time so we did not have to wait long to get a good look at each wax work. the whole walk around was around 2hrs with a stop in the rovers pub mid way.
Mark P — Google review
Had such a fun visit here, was fun for all of us. It was very clean, including the toilets. Appears very accessible too with lots of lifts (not that we needed to use them. But worth mentioning for those who do). Staff very nice and helpful, always smiling. The wax figures were so good, I had to look up close to so many of them because you couldn't tell that they were wax. Now history doesn't usually interest me, but I loved reading the history behind Madame Tussaud. So many different areas inside and a place to sit, drink and eat. The marvel area was incredible, and our favourite by far! Lots of photo opportunities, including paid ones to purchase if you'd like to. The gift shop at the end had a little bit of everything in there. It was very clean and well kept. Would be nice to see a few more people added in there like Luke Littler and Luke Combs.
Adele J — Google review
Absolutely brilliant!. We loved it, seeing all the celebrities up close is wicked and strange at the same time. There's someone for all the family.
Debbie L — Google review
Better than expected, and the waxworks were actually really good. Definitely worth a walk around with more celebrities than I realised there were. Not too costly, and especially great if the weather is rubbish outside 😂👌👍
Steven L — Google review
Had an ok visit on a Saturday morning. Wasn't too busy as we went in just after opening. The waxworks are pretty good likenesses and the theming around the attraction is good. There just isn't enough of them. The models are very spaced out and there is a lot of empty space in some areas where it looks like some have been removed. They could really do with adding a lot more to make the walk around more eventful - sad to see a big lack of sports stars, just a handful of British ones. Likewise music and film are very underrepresented. Was cheap to enter as part of the Blackpool multi attraction ticket though. Took us around 60 minutes to get through.
Adam T — Google review
First time attending and was really fun. Free photos by the staff on the way around and some really cool picture spots to take for yourself. The wax hand bit was also cool with the staff being very patient and friendly.

Such a lovely park. Plenty of different areas, lovely to walk around with or without dogs. Lots of different paths, park never feels too crowded. So many beautiful places to have picnics. I absolutely love coming here. Staff in cafe and ice cream stalls are lovely too. Lovely wildlife there too.

Nicely kept park with a feature fountain, gardens, lake and trails. Nice cafe for refreshments, toilets and a car park. Lovely place to walk and see wild birds. A little ice cream stall sells bird feed and the birds will eat from your hands. Sug at the bird feeding station at the lakeside and watch them feed and the squirrels raid the bird food too. A few rats as always when by water but of no bother as thrh ketp their distance. If you're like me you'll still enjoy seeing everything and a few rodents. Boats to be hired. Looks available but charged sadly, something that should be free in a park really but otherwise great.

A delightful open green space with lots of features that could keep the whole family occupied for hours and offers a complete contrast to Blackpool's town centre and sea front. There is free car parking within the park, a variety of themed areas, boating lake and extensive children's playground, plus a cafe. Worth a visit!
John D — Google review
I loved walking around Stanley park and it took me backvto my childhood days, when i last came here. I did want to get on one of the lions for a photo opportunity, but i was worried id get stuck and a air ambulance would be called to help get a guy, in a denim miniskirt off a lion! I didn't get chance to go on a boat on the lake, but it did look fun. The cafe was excellent and the lady who served us was really nice. The cheesecake was to die for.
Shaunie “ — Google review
Haven't been to Stanley Park since I was a boy - despite regularly visiting Blackpool! Visited the park today with wife, daughter and two dogs - little girl loved it, especially the play area and the lake. Grabbed an ice cream, fed the ducks, geese and swans (bird feed available for £1 from the ice cream stall near the boating lake). Lovely park and kept exceptionally clean and tidy.

The park also features facilities such as snack outlets and arcades to keep everyone entertained. Visitors can enjoy discounts by booking tickets in advance online. One of the highlights is the Master Blaster, known as the world's longest indoor roller coaster water slide.
Oh my. What a beautiful place. I love it, the wife loves it, the kids don't want to leave and want to come back everyday. Excellent value for money, loads of fun things to do and what a good way for families to spend time together on the budget. The changing room is clean, the temperature is absolutely conducive and there is at least one thing for everyone and suitable for people with disabilities as well. Love it
Oluwaseun P — Google review
Great place to enjoy family time and relax. Great facilities and fun. Staff are also okay, some are ready to assist and prioritise safety. The spa section is good but the tags given doesn't work, even after complaining and getting another one, it still did not work. The locker technology and safety measures are quite impressive.
Oyeleke O — Google review
We came here during the holidays and we had a decent experience. The queues weren't horrendous and we enjoyed the wave pool. However, the place was absolutely slammed, it felt quite claustrophobic. I also feel that this is a place you would enjoy more if you have kids, less so for a group of adults.
Anna J — Google review
My kids loved the experience. Very huge waterpark we definitely going back. Very warm inside lots of activities
DJ J — Google review
Totally Worth It! We booked our tickets online when we reached the park, and even though it was a bank holiday weekend, we managed to get them easily. There was a rush for the later slots, but we chose the 9:30 AM slot—and that turned out to be a brilliant decision! The early slot is definitely the best choice. Later slots had long queues, with up to 30-minute waits for slides. In the early slot, we enjoyed most rides with no waiting. Early arrivals also get the best parking since it fills up quickly as the day goes on. The water felt noticeably warmer in the morning session, which made it even more enjoyable. Facilities like lockers and wristbands worked perfectly, and you can access your locker as many times as needed. You can add money to your wristband for food, drinks, and photos, which is super convenient—and any unused balance is easily refunded at the end of your visit. There are eating facilities inside with a decent variety, though prices are a bit on the higher side. The wave pool is fun, but the wave session felt quite short—probably under 2 minutes. A longer wave time would definitely improve the experience. For rides, start with the big thrill ones—Aztec Falls, The Sidewinder, and Master Blaster are must-tries for adults and thrill-seekers. The Splash Zone is a definite highlight, especially for kids and families. Once you’ve done the main slides, take your time to relax in the pools and explore the rest of the park. Swimwear rules are clearly listed online, so it’s worth checking in advance. You can take some pictures inside the park, just be mindful of other guests' privacy. Overall, we had a fantastic time. The only things that could make it better? Slightly lower prices, longer sessions—and definitely a longer wave pool run. Because honestly, the fun never ends!
Ashish P — Google review
We decided to visit the water park on a very wet and windy day in Blackpool, This is not the cheapest attraction around at £76 for the 3 of us, but it dose offer 3hrs of pool time which we found to be clean and warm the slides are good and an good amount of them. The lazy river was our fav. My only down side was not been able to ride the master blaster due to a weight limit. i do wish that this was better posted and the signage was small and behind you when stood in the queue. I was asked to stand on a scale which went red for me and i am not a small fella nor am i a big one too. i felt so embarrassed to be told that i was over weight and could not ride, i then had to wait at the bottom while my son and wife went on the slide. i asked the staff member if this was for all the rides but lucky it was just this one. this really needs to be better advertised as body shaming people in public is not a good thing to be doing. After this we did go on the other slides and enjoyed our time here.
Mark P — Google review
We had a fantastic day at this waterpark! The selection of slides is excellent, with something for all ages. Our little one especially loved the splash area designed just for younger kids, and the lazy river was a highlight for the whole family—relaxing and beautifully done. The entire place is brilliantly themed, with lush decorations, jungle vibes, and even real olam trees outside that add to the tropical feel. Staff were lovely—friendly, helpful, and attentive—and there were plenty of lifeguards on duty, which made us feel safe. There’s even a water photographer around to capture those fun moments, which is a nice touch. A couple of things could be improved. There are no separate male and female changing areas, which felt quite uncomfortable and a bit surprising for a family-focused venue. Also, lockers cost £2 to use and the fee isn’t refunded, which felt a bit steep on top of admission. One frustration was with the medium slides (the green and red ones). We queued up with our 7-year-old, who was wearing a life jacket. The staff member managing the queue could see this, but didn’t mention that these slides weren’t suitable for non-swimmers or those in life jackets. Clearer signage would have saved us a good chunk of time and disappointment. Overall though, it’s a fantastic place with a lot to enjoy—we’ll definitely be back, especially once a few of these small things are improved.
Heych X — Google review
Me and the two kids went on Monday in October half term. We booked in advance and went for 10:00 entry. £75 for three and extra for a locker? Perhaps a little steep but seems the going rate for any attractions these days! The changing rooms were clean and there are loads of lockers - we booked in a single wristband in advance and a large yellow one was was plenty big enough for our stuff. We managed to take advantage of the quieter potion of the visit between 10 and 11:30 to get on all of the slides. Would say at this time, probably 5 to 10 minutes wait for them. Longest wait was for Master Blaster, but time was getting on by the time we decided to go on. Only thing to improve would probably be the brown spiral steps up to the yellow and blue thunder falls slides - notably rusty in places but can be avoided if watch your step. Didn't bother eating there so cannot comment on that. All in all great fun but we left after 2 and half hours as all the queues had increased substantially in length and didn't want to wait for any.

We managed to go when there was some airplane show around so the place was very quiet which was amazing as the other one we visited was in London and that was very crowded.. This time we got to take pictures and walk around without feeling rushed. Simply beautiful and peaceful. Great for people with anxiety as that place calms you down somehow.

Out of everything we did on our day trip, this was most definitely our favourite. Had no wait to get in and staff very helpful on the desk. Lots of different areas to look in and very well themed. There wasn't a second that any of us were bored. The star fish part was my favourite, they were very strict on hand washing before the rock pool experience. They were regularly giving the creatures in the rock pool areas breaks to refrain people from constantly touching them. The staff appeared very knowledgeable and didn't seem like they were script reading. Considering it was quite busy, no one was rushing people around and barging people. Everyone was taking it in turns which made the experience good as at Blue Planet we experienced the opposite. We sat down for a talk infront of the very large tank, and the spokesperson kept us all intrigued. So many different aquatics to see, including corals and also some spiders and cockroaches. Lots of photo opportunities, including paid ones.

Initially weren't very hyped up about it, mom was disappointed, but the further we go in the better the experience is!!! We had loads of fun! Baby loved it! The hands on experience in the beginning was great too! They saved the best for last, I won't spoil it for people looking for this review but it only gets better!! Also the shop had very cute souvenirs!

Amazing place. Sat at the big tank at the end, just watching them all swim around. The music made it so peaceful. Think we sat there for a good 20 minutes and the staff member was offering small shark teeth. Took one for my son, he's going to love it. He can't get enough of sharks. The whole experience was great, watching the different creatures and I loved the added Halloween decorations too. I will definitely be bringing my children next time.

Absolutely love this place. Very good presentation. Really clean and the fish were absolutely pristine condition as were the tanks . And loads and loads of different types of fish. I really loved it there. Well worth the money

We visited for the escarium event. It was absolutely brilliant and a great price of £12. The actors are amazing at their job, have they come over from the tower dungeons for the event ? Every single one of them was so perfect and professional and they really made the event. The lady on front desk was fantastic, very customer focussed and did a great job of getting everyone through the doors… she said it was your first Halloween event, a very well deserved round of applause… it seemed to go smoothly to what I saw…. We came dressed up as we visited the dungeons an hour before coming to your event, as I wandered around, I got mistaken for an actor several times haha , absolutely brilliant!!

Great experience to go see when visiting Blackpool. Staff are friendly and really knowledgeable. The sea life is really cool to see up close and some rare species as well!

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Blackpool Illuminations is a must-see attraction, featuring six miles of dazzling displays along the Promenade from September to January. The free light show includes illuminated tram tours, festivals, fireworks, and switch-on events. This annual 66-day festival boasts over one million bulbs lighting up the seafront with new installations each year. The Big Switch On event is a highlight, often attended by pop bands and celebrities.
Great every year, the lights are great to walk and drive through, especially with a light up sword. There are so many different illuminations, for example nickelodeon ones. The tower looks good in day, but even better in the dark with the illuminations. There are also moving illuminations if you travel north of the tower which are great to see. Great if you go near the tower!
Jack — Google review
Try and come earlier in the week as there is far less traffic and you will get a good drive around the illuminations. If you go later in the week/weekend then you will be lucky to see it all. Using the public trams (not heritage ones) is a good cheap and easy way to see the illuminations and at the top of the town (furthest from stargate is a lot of the old illuminations which are great to see) just a shame Blackpool as a place is so horrible
Dean H — Google review
Was very quiet when visited this week..not much change since 15 20 years ago..still a lovely drive down..like the little installations dotted on the front. Liked the dragons which were interesting and interactive and moved and made sound and had smoke etc. Needs something to life it up still..if never been a great trip if been before. Pretty much the same

Braved gale force winds to visit this year's illuminations. They may not be quite as elaborate these days as I remember from childhood (no illuminated trams sadly) but enjoyed them anyway!

Wasn’t disappointed - so many light displays make the Golden Mile look like Christmas! The Tower and the Big Wheel lights were amazing
Geoff S — Google review
Was good to see the light this evening, my daughter loved it, traffic was pretty slow but I expected that anyways. I have a disabled mother that can’t walk very far so parking was not great for that so we stayed in the car the hole time.
STEFAN G — Google review
I’ve been coming to see the lights from 1985! I still love them now. They are a MUST SEE!!
Elaine C — Google review
Travelled from the other side of the Pennines to see these, on a coach trip. I'm sure they were great, but it's not the ideal way to see them travelling on the back of the coach. Very limited viewing and impossible to get any real decent photos at all. The folk at the front of the coach had prime viewing though and I'm sure that they got good pictures. But from where I was sat, it was like looking down a long dark tube with a small screen far away, with peoples' heads and mobis obstructing, so had to really crane to see anything. Disappointing. Left coming away feeling as though I hadn't really experienced them at all, quite deflating. I had seen the lights only once before, decades ago and we walked along the prom then. That is still, to my mind, the best way to view them, not from the back of a moving coach.

Circus
The Blackpool Tower Circus, located at the base of the iconic Blackpool Tower, is a must-visit for families seeking entertainment. Established in 1894, it's the oldest permanent circus arena globally and showcases acts from various countries. The interior of the tower provides a unique backdrop during performances, and some seats offer bird's-eye views of the ring. Additionally, visitors can enjoy breathtaking stunts and comedic performances by renowned clowns Mooky and Mr Boo.
The circus is great. Really talented performers. We went using our Merlin annual pass. Entertaining for adults and kids. My three year old found it a bit too long for anyone with very small kids. Would highly recommend.
Rebecca O — Google review
Absolutely fantastic!! I first saw mooky over 20 years ago and he did not disappoint this time either. Legend! Show was unreal, great comedy, great acts, a definite mist see for everyone. The laser show was amazing, tough on the eyes at some points but absolutely brilliant to see. I would recommend taking cash for face painting, plate spinning toy and the program. Also, they have the best popcorn I have ever tasted! We bought v.i.p tickets so we're sat at the front and got free popcorn and drinks aswel (u do pay extra when u buy your tickets but it saves a bit of chew in the long run).

An excellent traditional circus experience. Our first time seeing the circus in the iconic Blackpool Tower. Several amazing acts and great hosts.
Philip G — Google review
Myself and my boyfriend visited 12/10/2025 and we were almost disappointed by the show... Didn't understand the point of Mr Boo and Mooky, they really dragged the show out with poor humour/awkward jokes. No real talent from them two? Performers were unique but a hoola hooper, dress changing and limbo - really??? The lady hanging from chains and the bikes were good... Weren't overly impressed by the laser show, didn't understand the need for the water, which absolutely stank... There was ALOT of time wasting from the presenters MrBoo and Mooky like an invisible dog, birthday shoutouts and a complete waste of time seesaw act!?! jesus... very low budget and poorly executed. even people around us mentioned how poor of a show it was. very disappointed. on the plus side, you can take your own snacks into the show :)

Great Circus. Well worth the price. All the performers are amazing very talented and professional. The actual building itself is outstanding. So beautiful and lots of space. Highly recommend. I'll be returning very soon

An incredible show . It's a must see ! For anyone who is visiting Blackpool or even live here. It's funny, entertaining and heart in mouth stunts. Even small jokes for the adults which kids won't get. Great for families, friends , couples

We attended The Blackpool Circus on a weekend get-away and honestly, it was our favourite event we had planned/done the entire weekend. It does get quite busy when getting into the blackpool tower, we turned up 30 minutes early and the queue was already starting, we could not take our pram in so had to go find the buggy park (which was quite difficult to find) and we went through entrance B. The seats were quite a squeeze, it is an old building just to keep in mind. My kids were aged 3m, 2y, 4y and 6y and all of them equally loved watching the circus, even my 2 year old sat still the entire time and was amazed by everything that was going on. The acts were incredible, and so talented. It was also very loud, which I did not anticipate, so if you have children who cannot cope with loud noise, I would recommend ear defenders and learn from my mistakes. I would happily come here again, and I think so would my 4 children.

Saw the High Jinx act at the Blackpool Tower Circus with my husband and two 12yr olds. It was mainly magic and illusion. For the cost I thought it was quite good value and something a bit different to just trawling the many amusement centres. It's held in a beautifully ornate setting, set up like a circus ring. Traditional magic and illusion starring one magician with a troupe of dancers. Audience interaction was encouraged. Good atmosphere. We all enjoyed it.

It is part of the Merlin Blackpool group, which offers visitors a Pick N Mix pass to enjoy multiple attractions including the ballroom. The ballroom is known for its stunning decor, featuring ornate designs, sparkling chandeliers, and opulent balconies that transport visitors back to the 19th century.
Fantastic visit for an afternoon tea. Very friendly staff and a beautiful building that we loved exploring. Afternoon tea was lovely and it was fun to watch all the dancers taking to the floor while the organist played in the background (the organ and organist sink into the stage when they finish playing). Recommended as a very different way to experience Blackpool. You can reach the upper balcony from within the ballroom for a different view.

My friends treated me to afternoon tea at the ballroom whilst on a weekend trip. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful, topping up the teapots when they were empty. The food selection was amazing. Delicious sandwiches with lovely fillings, excellent fruit scones with individual pots of jam and cartons of cream, and a beautiful selection of little cakes. We spent a good few hours enjoying all the dancers twirling round the floor and a couple of our ladies enjoyed joining in the Gay Gordon's. A lovely afternoon was had by all.

Absolutely brilliant day at the tower ballroom. Fantastic staff serving afternoon tea, they were so helpful and polite. We went to watch my dad dance who’s 75 with his dancing team, I’ve not been since the age of 3 & what a place. Recommend it to anyone. 🌻😀

I have been coming to Blackpool since I was a little girl , the ballroom and tower are still as utterly magical as I remember I haven’t danced for many years and it was Amazing to be able to take to the floor again with my daughter …. The staff were absolutely brilliant , service was second to none especially Frances ……it really did bring a tear to my eye to hear the magical wurziltler play and see all the other dancers take to the floor …….. I hope to be coming back here for many many years till I’m old and grey Blackpool tower - there’s no place like it ! A magical experience for young and old 🥰🙏♥️✨

An experience like no other!! My wife and I along with our little one came to the ballroom for cream tea, and had an incredible time! We stayed so much longer than we intended as we were mesmerised by all the ballroom dancers, organists playing and the general architecture and aura across the space. The cream tea was delicious, but the stand-out for our visit was simply watching around 40 (mainly 60Yr olds plus) dancing a range of traditional ballroom dances on the dance floor! Amazing!! Our toddler loved it too!!

The Bank Bar & Grill is a laid-back establishment located in the heart of Blackpool's town center. Housed in a former bank, it has quickly become a local favorite since its founding in 2008. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with internationally inspired dishes, including British classics like fish and chips, Italian favorites such as pizza and pasta, and American influences like fluffy pancakes and burgers.
Didn't book, but they made the effort to find my son and I a table. This is the second time we've been. It's absolutely the only place to eat in Blackpool if you want a nice meal. 10/10 Thank you.

Came for a date night tonight, arrived for our reservation at 6.30pm. Was greated and seated quickly by welcoming and very friendly staff. Customer service was excellent. The aesthetic and atmosphere was fun and energetic, there was a various collection of different music playing but it wasn't too loud. Our starters; Sticky BBQ spare Ribs, Halloumi Fries and Breaded Mushrooms. Our mains; Lamb Shank with Garlic buttered mash and Roasted vegetables. Honey and chilli Spare Ribs with chunky chips and sautéed mushrooms. Our deserts; Chocolate fudge Cake Tiramisu with cream Boyfriend got the Mudslide from the drinks menu and said it was sooo good! Food was absolutely delicious, tasted as good as they look on the pictures. Will definitely visit again. Thankyou Ric and the team, had an amazing night X

Our first visit to the Bank. You will need to book in advance if you want a good slot here. We arrived on Saturday at 4:15 and within an hour it was pretty full. You can see why. Excellent food, very pleasant staff and lovely modern design. We shared a garlic/cheese bread starter and both had steaks with sauce and extras. They were cooked to perfection. No room for desert. A couple of things to note is that they allot you a 2hr dining slot, which was not a problem for us. They also add a 10% service charge to all bills. You can have it removed, should you wish. However, the service we received was worth more the this charge. A very nice enjoyable experience and we will definitely be returning.

We had an absolutely fantastic meal at The Bank Bar & Grill! The staff were so friendly, attentive, and really made the whole experience even better. I had the Cumbrian beef bacon and cheese burger with black pudding added, along with paprika fries – absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the same burger with salt and chilli fries, and when he asked for jalapeños on his burger the staff not only made it happen but also suggested trying a chilli and honey sauce to go with it, recognising he liked spice. Such a thoughtful touch, and he loved it! The food was top quality, the portions generous, and the service was brilliant from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend The Bank Bar & Grill to anyone looking for amazing food and fantastic staff.

Nestled in Blackpool, Stefani's Pizzeria is a charming family-run eatery celebrated for its delectable wood-fired pizzas and classic Italian desserts. The cozy venue takes pride in crafting traditional pizzas with a modern twist, using hand-stretched dough as the perfect canvas for an array of fresh, high-quality toppings.
I'd been meaning to try this place for some time, finally had lunch here just after the New Year, and am so glad I did! It's an excellent family run pizzeria in a good central location close to the Winter Gardens. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. It's only a small place, and although it was quiet when I arrived around noon, it soon filled up! It has all the rustic decor and homely atmosphere of a small family run restaurant in Italy. Good selection of starters and garlic bread, and an amazing variety of wood fired pizzas. You can create your own pizza from a choice of toppings, and there's also a vegan menu. I chose the Little Italy pizza (with homemade sausage meat, black olives and peppers). It was cooked to perfection, the base was crispy at the edges and softer in the middle, and the topping had a delicious authentic Italian flavour. They offer a good choice of Italian craft beers, ciders and wine, but I tried the pink lemonade cocktail, and it proved to be a tangy and refreshing accompaniment to the pizza. Finished with a very light and delicious tiramisu and a cappuccino. Quick service and a very attentive waitress who kept coming back to check that everything was okay. Prices were reasonable too. Would certainly recommend!

Amazing, amazing place. The staff are magnificent and caring. The pizza was so good. It was fresh, generous toppings and so good. I also had the chicken thighs and I don't know what seasoning they used, but it was succulent, crispy, flavoursome. Just a great place.

And the Malteser cheesecake is TO DIE FOR! Grab it while you can and thank you to everyone at Stefani’s for a magical evening!

Had this place on my list of places to eat during our recent holiday along with places like umamis and armenia kebab shop etc. Got 1 margherita and 1 salt and pepper chicken pizza, 1 nutella pizza for the kids and 4 cannolis (1 of each flavour) to takeaway, £45.55. We were staying a 10 minute drive away. The pizza was meh, but the doh was really chewy as if it hadnt been proofed long enough or something. Very light pizza's in weight and not the biggest. Had some leftover nutella pizza the next day, put in over for 5 minutes and the kids didnt even want it after trying a few bites, doh extremely chewy to not being really edible by this time. Was really let down by this meal as I had been looking forward to it. I make my own pizza's at home so have a bit of pizza knowledge. We dont like eating chain pizzas but i think we would have enjoyed a dominos more than this. The connollis were also not great, the pastry was quite biscuit like and I expected fresh cream but got like a preformed cyclinder of solid cream inside, again meh. Service was great and very fast considered they looked busy inside. Also looked like a nice atmosphere inside although we didnt sit in. To claim you are in the top 50 pizza places is the let down, because it was just meh and was still hungry after 1 pizza and 2 cannollis.

Renowned for their exceptional pizzas, Pizza Grazie offers generous portions of delectable food. The ambiance is delightful, featuring live music and attentive staff who provided excellent service. Me & my husband went for a meal here last night. Wow what a great meal we had. We decided to try here as 1 we love pizza and 2 we really love the idea of the charity. They didn’t disappoint, the pizza was amazing 👌🏻 staff were really friendly and attentive and we really enjoyed our meal. Portion sizes were great too, we couldn’t eat it all so boxed it up and ate the rest the next day 😋 Would highly recommend 👍🏻

Lovely spot run by a team who are giving back to the community. The venue is a little quirky, but it is a lovely building being put to good use. The menu was limited to a selection of starters and pizza on our visit. The mushroom starters we outstanding, and the garlic bread was very tasty if large. Our group sampled several different pizzas. The food was very fresh, and arrived at the table piping hot. We brought our own wine, which was was kept cold for us. This place is 1 road behind the seafront, it is well worth the detour. More visitors will help this little gem really fly! If you are in town please pay a visit and support Mark and team, you won't be disappointed.

If you're on the hunt for a culinary adventure in Blackpool, look no further than Twisted Indian Street Food. This award-winning gem, located near North Pier on Clifton Street, has earned accolades like the prestigious Street Food Restaurant of the Year at the English Curry Awards 2022.
We were in Blackpool for one night and found this restaurant through Google. What a find!!!!! It said reservations were required but we turned up hopefully. No problem, and we got a table for the two of us. The food was absolutely superb. I had a jhalfrezi which was one of the best I have ever had. My wife had the butter chicken which again was fabulous. I had a pint of Cobra which was perfect and my wife had a red wine, which was, again, very, very good. If we lived in the area, rather than some 300 miles north this restaurant would definitely be a regular haunt of ours. We can recommend Twisted Indian without hesitation. Absolutely fantastic!!!!

Amazing Indian food cooked on order. Genuinely the nicest Indian meal I've had in a long time. You can taste all the fresh ingredients and the effort put into each dish. Lamb chop were fantastic and Chicken was cooked to perfection unlike other restaurants that just reheat or cook in bulk. We had 4 different main curries and they were all delicious. My new favourite Indian restaurant in the county.

Went here for evening meal before going to the theatre - the service was great (although we were the only ones in) Our waitress was kind, friendly and helpful but also gave us space. We only had 2 main meals - Biryani and Karahi with rice 1 coke and 2 lemonades - Came to £54 so for 1 curry and a drink costing £27 seemed a little excessive. The food was amazing though. Just not really worth that price. Don't think I would go back which is a shame. I am also aware that we were in a restaurant and not having takeaway.

Absolutely delicious food! All freshly made when you order and the quality was perfect! The guy who served us was really kind and helpful, he happy advised us on portion sizes and recommendations and knowledge on some of the items we didn't know! They had some issues with card payments and could only take cash which they told us before we seated and were happy for us to order then go draw money to pay for the bill once we knew how much we would need. Would highly recommend, the atmosphere and staff made the meal that much more enjoyable! Ordered the cauliflower pakoras, hands down the best thing I've ever had and a chicken masala
Beth S — Google review
Taking into consideration the recommendation and the prices of the food I was expecting a high dining experience. What you expect and what I actually received were mile apart. Yes we were in a party of 30, however if a restaurant takes the booking then you’d expect to receive service where your food is delivered all in one for individual meals. Chips delivered to the table and then had to wait for my curry for another 15 minutes, Chapatti never arrived. 3 other family members had their meal whilst I sent mine back. Worst curry meal I’ve ever had, this is not a place to visit. I can’t comment of the taste of the food as I didn’t have it.
Gareth A — Google review
We had a decent experience overall, but a few things held it back from being great. The starter was excellent and set a high expectation, but the mains didn’t quite match up—my chicken was a little on the dry side. For the price point, we expected a bit more in terms of quality. Service throughout was very good, and we had no issue paying the full service charge. However, there was an uncomfortable moment when a conversation—possibly between the owner or a manager and a younger staff member—took place within earshot of customers. These kinds of discussions are best kept behind the scenes. All in all, it’s a 4-star experience from us, but with a few small improvements, it could easily be a 5.

Twelve Restaurant and Lounge Bar is a modern dining spot located near Blackpool, opposite Europe's tallest working windmill. It offers an escape from the town center's hustle and bustle, providing an idyllic dining experience under the sails of one of Europe's oldest working windmills. The restaurant features innovative local cuisine inspired by regional produce and culture, with a menu that changes regularly to incorporate the freshest ingredients.
we had our tasting menu for our wedding recently and everything was impeccable. From the range of food provided, to the quality of food and the service we had, everything was perfect. We struggled to decide on an actual wedding menu as the choice was so great. I particularly like how flexible they were with catering to specific needs or allowing you to swap parts of different menus which so many other venues and caterers will not accomodate. Aaron served us; he was polite, friendly and so knowledgeable about all the dishes and gave us some great honest recommendations. we honestly couldn’t recommend the restaurant enough, especially if you want them to cater to your wedding. We haven’t even got married yet but already know we’ll be back here soon!!

Had high expectations about this place. Came on a quiet night so didn't have the lively buzz about it. Was surprised to be plonked next to the fire exit despite it being so empty. (Perhaps that's down to my ugly mug). Tried a set menu so much in way of choice. I did enjoy good quality food with nice modest portion sizes. Customer service was the best bit. The waitress smelled really nice. Not in a weird way, we did tell her and she agreed that she did.

Had the most amazing food at this restaurant last night, the staff were very friendly and really helpful and it had a great atmosphere. The scallops that I had were the best I have had and my fillet steak was cooked to perfection! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back

Twelve did the catering for our Wedding at Browsholme Hall. The food was incredible, we went for the BBQ menu served as sharing platters. All of our guests were talking about the food after with many saying it was the best food they had had at a wedding. All of the many dietary requirements were catered for easily. The staff on the wedding day were amazing, everyone was happy, friendly and professional. The food was served seamlessly. We can't wait to return to the restaurant in the future.

Visited Twelve not for the first time on Thursday for my Dads 70th. The restaurant is located on Fleetwood Rd Thornton, just best to the Oldest working Windmill in Europe. Very slick and modern inside. A lovely seating area on right as you enter with plenty of natural light. Awards clearly placed on the walls as you enter, shows to me how proud they are of the restaurant. I had pork pie to start which was first class. Mains I had the beef, not completely my favourite but it was ok. Staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable about the dishes. Twelve is on the more expensive side of other restaurants but still very much worth a visit.

Excellent Sunday lunch. We all opted for the Topside Beef. Gravy was rich and flavourful. Almost as good as how my friend Dave makes it. The cauliflower and roast potatoes were yum and just the right portion. For a Michelin listed restaurant the portions were generous.

We visited for an anniversary this weekend just gone and the food was lovely. The portions are on the smaller side but this means you can have 3 courses which isn't a bad thing! The staff were attentive and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We had the August menu and the food was so good and excellent value for money for the qualitty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would've been 5 stars for atmosphere if there'd been more people there, get down and fill this quality restaurant up.

What a lovely little restaurant :) great food, lovely atmosphere and excellent food. Very impressed with our visit. Food is cooked fresh near enough in front of you. The smells and spices certainly make you hungry! Thank you for a lovely dining experience :)

First time I've been to this place. And first time in a proper Spanish restaurant. The food was amazing, well cooked, and presented. My wife and I dined here for our 1st wedding anniversary, and we both went away thoroughly satisfied and full. The staff were very helpful, professional, and courteous. Loved the atmosphere as well, and was a very clean and fresh look. I would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful food served by very friendly staff, in a lovely restaurant. Would recommend the lunch time special, as it's great value and the quality of food is fantastic. Next time we are in the area, then we will certainly be going for an evening meal here.

Nice place in Blackpool for Spanish tapas. There is a good variety on the menu, though some of the dishes are a little pricey. The service is very good here and we're always visiting!

Brilliant Spanish food and outstanding service. Stop the fish and chips, burgers and hotdogs of Blackpool front, get in a taxi and up to bispham. All the hot meat dishes are fabulous, the authentic iberico ham carved fresh of the leg is really high quality. Johnny (Cash) is an outstanding server/waiter/host, get yourselves here... Oh and have a bottle or two of the Faustino red wine 😉

Michael Wan's Mandarin is a well-established restaurant in Blackpool, offering a mix of traditional and modern Cantonese cuisine. It has been serving customers for over 55 years and is highly regarded by critics and visitors alike. The restaurant provides a warm oriental welcome and features set-price banquets as well as weekly live music events, creating a vibrant dining atmosphere. In addition to its delectable Chinese dishes, the restaurant boasts excellent decor, staff, and service that contribute to its great vibe.
The best service of any restaurant in Blackpool. We had four courses on the banquet menu. Which consisted of soup, starters, three mixed dishes with rice and sorbet to finish. The food was excellent and service is second to none in Blackpool. The staff are amazing. We will be visiting again

Brilliant staff, asked for recommendations and the waiter clearly knew what he was talking about. Made some excellent recommendations. Good food allergy information and good awareness of gluten free requirements. Best atmosphere in a restaurant I've been in for a long time. Thank you for a good night, will be back.

Visiting friends in Blackpool and they raved about this place. And oh man was it justified. We got the Mandarin Banquet and had the best meal I've maybe ever had. Food was top quality, four courses of beautifully cooked heaven. The service was top class, all servers were so kind and helpful and friendly and we even got complimentary shots at the end to celebrate my friend's graduation. Amazing experience, top class food and just sad that I don't give closer to Blackpool to come again!
Matt J — Google review
First time trying the Mandarin after hearing so many positive things for a long time. We had the Banquet A menu which is a starter platter followed by 3 mains and fried rice. Everything was excellent, really high quality, very fresh and tasty. This is about as good as Chinese food gets in Blackpool. The restaurant is very nice, service is good, everything is done to make your experience special. I will add, as this is a review, that you do pay for that extra quality. For the meal for two plus a drink each and prawn crackers as an extra, our bill with service charge was just short of a ton. I will definitely return for a special occasion.

Nice. Is it the best Chinese I've ever had. No. Is it good. Yes. Is it expensive. Yes. Is the decor nice. Yes. Would I go again. Probably no. Just because I've had better and a better value. It also didn't help that the waiter told me what i came in for wasn't recommended and most people leave it aside.

On holiday in Blackpool for a few days. On my birthday we decided to go for a meal here on arrival there was already a birthday group there celebrating. I said to the waiter oh I see I'm not the only one with a birthday today. He wished me happy birthday and took our order. The food that we ate was absolutely amazing and to top the evening off after we had eaten the 2 waiters came up to our table bearing a small birthday cake ice cream with a candle singing happy birthday to you. An amazing evening and what wonderful staff and food

Yorkshire Fisheries

Mentioned on

Fish & chips restaurant
Yorkshire Fisheries is a long-standing, family-run fish and chip shop located on Topping Street in Blackpool. Established in 1905, this traditional chippy has been serving up classic fish and chips for over a century. Known for its king-sized cod, mouth-watering homemade pies, and daily freshly sourced haddock, Yorkshire Fisheries takes pride in offering high-quality seafood and perfectly chipped potatoes.
Walking into Yorkshire Fisheries feels like stepping straight onto the set of an old-school British gangster film – think 1980s café vibes with no frills, no fuss, and all the charm. It’s the kind of place where you half expect to see a geezer in a sheepskin coat sipping a brew in the corner while the fryers sizzle behind the counter. The menu is as classic as the decor – fish and chips, mushy peas, gravy, and of course, a proper cuppa tea served in a no-nonsense mug. This is British seaside grub at its finest. The fish? Spot on. Perfectly fried with just enough batter to give it that crunch without drowning out the taste of the fish itself. None of that greasy overcoat nonsense – just a clean, golden crisp. The chips were thick, plum, and fluffy inside – exactly how they should be. Drenched in gravy or dipped in peas, either way, they hit the spot. Yorkshire Fisheries isn’t trying to be trendy or flashy – it knows what it is: a solid, honest chippy with decades of soul. And for that, it’s a gem.

Best fish and chips in Blackpool. Fast, friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable, welcoming environment. The food was excellent, cooked to order and the fish batter was beautifully crisp. Star of the show has to be the in house curry sauce. Will be back again and again. Go no further, this is the place you want your fish and chips from

Drove from Blackburn for this after looking at reviews, wow exceeded expectations in every way. The restaurant itself is large and clean, we arrived at tea time and was shown to our table, we asked for cod n chips, mushy peas , a slice of bread n butter and a drink all for a very reasonable price. Food arrived within 10 mins, and wow this is an amazing meal, the fish was perfect, lovely batter and not dry in. The middle, chips perfectly cooked. And mushy peas delicious. We went here because of the reviews and so glad we did, can honestly say best fish n chips ever, highly recommend
Steve H — Google review
Wow, this is definitely the best fish and chips I have ever tasted! I ordered the £15.75 cod special that came with a large piece of cod fish, chips, a side, a slice of bread with butter and a cup of tea or coffee. For the side I opted for the mushy peas which is typically not found on menus in the U.S. I am not a fried food person and definitely prefer my fish raw as sashimi or cooked any other way than deep fried. However, I enjoyed this succulent piece of cod fish and even ate some of its batter which I usually don’t do. I walked by several fish and chips eateries before getting here, so I know this place’s price is a bit higher than others’. However, the quality of its food made it justifiable. The friendly staff’s quick attentive service and their impressive efficiency from seating you quickly after you step inside, bringing you a menu immediately, taking your order quickly, serving your food as soon as it is done, and bringing you your check definitely give you an overall 5-star dining experience.

Found this chippy on Google highly recommended. So made a point of visiting here from Edinburgh.I ordered a reg cod and chips £8.90. And two childrens fish and chips at £5.50 for takeaway. The fish and chips were made fresh to order. I waited roughly 10 mins . Unfortunately we didn't eat them till after 20 mins. The kids got side tracked by the arcades. But the meals were still piping hot. Good sized portions, no greasiness, light crisp batter , fresh fish. Reasonable pricing. I would definitely try this place again and try and sit in .

Food was delicious and very reasonable - but what stood out to me most was the service. The wait staff were brilliant - couldn't do enough for you and very professional. Would recommend the curry sauce if you like a little spice with your fish :)

Excellent fish and chips from Yorkshire Fisheries with equally great service from its staff. We were starving and they gave us great portion sizes, even for the non-king-size option. We were actually pleased that it didn't come with peas or any other frills, and we end up never eating it. As a result, our plates were cleared for a change!

We had been in search of the best fish and chips for over a week from London, Manchester Northampton, Bath, we were met with mediocrity. It wasn't until we landed in Blackpool the we were visited by the holy angel of tasty fried nosh "Alona" who served us quite possibly the best fish and chips we've had in either the UK or America, with an undeniably sweet table side manner that had us back 2 in one day. There's tons of chippy's in Blackpool, but only one of them is so far above the rest I'd recommend you save the time and go straight to the best, Yorkshire Fisheries!!

Visited this quaint neapolitan pizzeria/restaurant situated in Cleveleys Town Centre (between Blackpool and Fleetwood) last night to satisfy our cravings for Italian food and they did not disappoint. We sampled their Prezzo Fisso/Set menu which is only £22 for 2 courses. 》Anatra | 6hr Confit Duck leg, braised pak choi, mash potato and plum glaze 》Seabass | Pan roasted Seabass fillet in herbs butter and Parmesan Risotto 》Rotolo | Duck confit rolled in crispy filo pastry 》Fritto Misto | Arancini, fried pasta, potato croquets 》Garlic Pizza bread | Olive oil, rosemary, roast garlic & sea-salt 》Tiramisu and Bread & Butter Pudding The starters certainly whet our appetites which had balanced flavours while the mains were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The fresh seabass complimented the delicate risotto and the tender duck just fell off the bone. An exceptional meal, very satisfied with them. The signature desserts were so addictive, quite impossible to say no to their heavenly tiramisu and bread & butter pudding. Their seafood/meat are locally sourced, freshly made pastas and they only use the best quality, imported ingredients. Overall, a buzzing spot with attentive staff and an extensive food & drinks menu which won't break the bank. Please do check this place out if you're in the area, I highly recommend them. Looking forward to try the other items on their menu on our next visit.

We rang up in the afternoon hoping that we could get a table & we did. We have been here quite a few times & it never fails to impress us. It’s a lovely setting & the staff are good at what they do. We didn’t have desserts on this occasion as we were both full.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience here. The food was well made and beautifully presented. I had a livornese fish stew. It was full of a variety of seafood which was nowt special, unseasoned, and from the freezer but well sourced. However, it's the depth of flavour you get from the tomato sauce that is worth writing home about. And, of course, the people were wonderful. We'd gladly recommend this one to anyone

I wanted to share some very disappointing feedback regarding the service we received last night. Unfortunately, it fell far below the standard we were expecting. From the outset, the service was appalling. At no point were we approached to be asked if we wanted drinks – instead, we had to keep going up to the bar ourselves throughout the evening, which was not what we anticipated given the setting. It felt disorganised and inattentive. Adding to our frustration, there was a waiter who spent a significant amount of time – on and off for well over an hour – chatting to one customer at length, rather than attending to the rest of the guests. This only highlighted the lack of attention the rest of us were receiving. The wait for food was unacceptable. It took nearly an hour for our starters to arrive, and it was close to two hours before we received our main courses. By that point, the evening had become more about waiting than enjoying the meal. Overall, it was a deeply frustrating experience and certainly not what we expected. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the level of service needs urgent improvement.

Pulcinellas seems to be an all male service and is a rarity in the world of Italian eateries as it's LGBTQ+ friendly. This visit is only a 'fair' overall food rating in that the fish and shellfish stew contained a large piece of 'off' fish. I spat it back onto the spoon and informed the staff. I was told I had already eaten half so I could pay for the half of the dish I'd eaten. Okay. We totally understand there are fraudsters out there. We aren't those people. In the end we were not charged for the fish/shellfish stew. Such a shame about that one piece of fish (assuming it was just the one as lits left on plate) but these things can happen. I chose the stew with expectation of a delicious soup base with carefully placed high quality seafood. A light hand from a confident, calm chef might have seriously helped the food experience overall (every diner is a food critic). My stew would have been improved by a 'less is more' approach - less pink trout/rock salmon and gungho plating to start with, and more use of the human nose to detect rancid fish prior to cooking. The shellfish were seriously overcooked which was such a shame. Pulcinella has an early doors set menu 'tho we preferred the full menu options. Other half said the hand made pasta was lovely but the weird addition of crunchy demerara sugar on top spoilt it. I sampled and had to agree. Ask to leave that out if you do choose to eat here. House white was lovely - shame I left the undrunk wine behind whilst paying. Oops. Asked for and got a crispy canoli as dessert, which one of the waiters said I was very lucky to get so I say thank you so much for going to that extra effort. My review is based on personal experience of dinner service on 19/07/2023. I pride myself on giving reflective and fair reviews.

First time visiting here. The service was lovely. There was a bit of a wait for food but if you want fresh cooked food you need to be patient 😁 The food was very nice and the only reason I have given it 4 stars is due to own preferences l. So the steak and burgers are flame grilled which is nice but a little over powering, chips was nice a crisp. The chicken and mushroom pie was full and crisp. The children enjoyed tye desserts.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport

International airport
Airport
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is located in a city known for its rich history and cultural significance. The airport offers a convenient gateway to explore the birthplace of The Beatles and home to renowned football clubs. Visitors can enjoy a quintessential British gastropub experience at The Monro, which features a charming courtyard and an inviting atmosphere. In addition to exploring the city's vibrant arts and culture scene, travelers can indulge in diverse dining experiences, from dockside eateries to fine-dining restaurants.
Great airport! It’s a small one terminal airport so if you land there, you’re out very quickly with clear signage about how to get away. Leaving is super nice as it’s mainly Ryanair and Easyjet. There’s a Greggs before you enter the secured area and it’s quite cheap compared to after security. Security was busier than I expected for such a small airport but it was fast, highly efficient (nothing had to be taken out of the bag and barely any bags got pulled out) and everyone was courteous and friendly, very welcoming! Gates are announced close to departure which I don’t like and there’s a small waiting area with some food options in the secured area. WiFi wasn’t strong enough for me to still have it in the gate area 3 and above. Overall, really enjoyed that airport!
PheNom603 — Google review
This is my first time flying from Liverpool airport, and I must say, it is far less stressful than a certain other airport...beginning with M! Nice, small terminal. Check in with Jet2 was quick and easy, as was security control.
Small G — Google review
Liverpool Airport is small but quite modern. If you’re feeling hungry, I’d recommend grabbing a coffee or a drink at Greggs. The bag checks are done quickly – you don’t need to take things out – and the whole security process is quite high-tech. Do arrive early though, as they tend to have fewer staff around lunchtime, so things can slow down a bit. Bring a jacket – you have to walk outside to get to the plane and it’s often quite chilly with the wind, though it doesn’t take long. Overall, my experience at Liverpool Airport has been a good one – the staff are friendly and everything runs smoothly
IGOR — Google review
Never flown from Liverpool before. It was easy to get to. The meet and greet was straightforward and easy with a short walk to the terminal. Checking in the bags and security were quick and efficient. Our plane left on time. A great experience going and coming back. So much more pleasant than the bigger airports I've used.
Laura R — Google review
Several free water refills (before and after security) would be great. Very limited options to eat or drink pre-security. If you have check-in luggage you must stay in pre-security area for several hours for any connecting flight. Apparently you can drop off your luggage 3 hours until departure time.
Arunas B — Google review
Great efficient airport. Much much more organised than Manchester. Simple layout. One floor check ins and exit and top floor gates. Plenty of choice. Starbucks burger king etc. Smoking area easy access. Large selection of duty free. Good security

Ample parking right next to arrivals/ departures - pricey of course at 12 pounds for an hour's stay! Quiet and with a few shops and coffee places available.

That’s a really nice airport - friendly staff, cool design, and posters with The Beatles.

Manchester Airport

International airport
Airport
Manchester Airport (MAN) is a bustling 3-terminal airport with national rail connections and flights to various destinations worldwide. It offers a range of facilities including shops, self-check-in kiosks, and parking spaces, although parking can be pricey. The airport provides quick check-in procedures and an array of dining and shopping options. While it may lack some staff for inquiries, the new Terminal 3 has improved convenience and reduced queues compared to other terminals.
Passport control has been massively improved since my last international trip a few years ago. The flight arrived early, we got through passport control super quick and my baggage only took 15-20 mins to show up on the carousel. Express pickup area was convenient and made it easy to get the Uber.
Baz P — Google review
It was a great Airport especially Terminal 2! The interior design was great and it was fascinating to be there. The only problem is that when I was collecting my luggage they would only send out 2-3 luggage every few minutes or so and that nearly made me miss my train! Great experience though.
Fabio S — Google review
Came on a train four hours before the flight so no rush. I had to walk to Terminal 3 but the signs were clearly displayed so it was easy to follow. Used toilets twice and although both were reasonably clean, it was smelling really bad in one of them. Waiting area after the security check was packed, so I had to wander for a few minutes to find a seat with enough personal space around me. Plenty of places to eat and drink.
Vintage K — Google review
Arrived at Manchester Airport with time to spare — parking was easy to find and clearly signed. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were helpful and polite. Security took around 20 minutes, which felt reasonable for a busy weekday morning. Once through, Terminal 2 was bright, clean, and full of decent food and coffee spots. Grabbed a quick bite and found plenty of seating near the gate. Boarding was well-organised, and staff kept things moving without fuss. Overall, a solid travel experience — efficient, comfortable, and much improved from a few years ago. Just arrive early, especially during peak times, and you’ll be fine.
Abdullah A — Google review
I've been here 4 times, and it's been a good, straightforward journey getting to and from the gates. My favourite terminal has to be T2 as it has a good variety of shops and the gates aren't too far away.
Connor C — Google review
Well what a change in Terminal 2 now the renovations are just about complete. It no longer feels like Luton airport in the 1970s. Lovely modern spacious ambience, fast efficient security, clean and tidy with a fast train link. Great shopping and eating too. What more could you ask for.
Martin F — Google review
It’s a good airport. Modern. Well appointed. Good facilities and amenities. Not much in departures before security. There is a WH Smith and a Starbucks. Protip: nowhere to sit in departures really so might not want to arrive too early. Can sit on the cement blocks outside if the weathers ok. After security the Duty Free is epic. The eatery options decent. Seating options are significantly better. Adequate. Another Protip: Boots is a really great store in my experience for travel amenities and snacks. Good variety of options and so many of the things you may be looking for at a reasonable price.
Kris T — Google review
Manchester Airport is a very smooth, very well organised airport. Being one of the busiest airports in the UK, it's absolutely amazing. There's a lot of car parking by the airport and it's a very affordable price. Manchester Airport has a humongous selection, and 3 terminals make it spread out, and the ATC knows how to make sure the runways are running smoothly. Absolutely amazing airport, and I would highly recommend it. It's also got a great planespotting place with a British Airways Concorde on show!. P.S. : The planespotting area costs £5 for entry, but it's worth it.
