So much litter 😭 we didn t stay at all. I was speavhless. Sooo sad. When I asked why so much litter was told the rain bringst it. Then I said but nobody is cleaning it also or do something. Then I got no reply anymore. Really sad. We love Indonesia but how the government is dealing with all the plastic litter in Indonesia is devastating. Sooo heaven in front of the eyes and hell in the back. 🙈

About 30 minutes from Ternate city. The location is very calm, the water is clear, and it is home to hundreds species of fish, marine animals, and coral reefs. A great place for swimming and snorkeling. Many local stalls around the area, there are public toilets that can be used.

Must visit in Ternate. You can have instant noodles at 15-20k rupiahs at nearby warung. Some warungs provide snorkle, goggles, life jacket and small canoe for rent. The water is clear, best place to unwind on the weekend.

One of the most famous beach in Ternate. If you walk a little to the bay, you can enjoy snorkle and dive here. Around the beach there are many place to take a rest and gather with your family. There are also few sellers that offer simple food or coconut drink.

lovely beach in Ternate. You can snorkeling at this place too. The underwater view is good enough. Dont worry if you don't have any snorkeling gear, you can rent on the spot (the mask, snorkle and fin).

God create this heaven with smile, thats why everytime when we step our foot here, you will see how beatiful thia place, how beautiful our country Indonesia, even though the terrain steep enough but it all pays us for the view of the bay...we can also jump in!

The lake itself is magnificent, but the area is unmaintained, a bit forgotten and neglected. We went on a weekend and it was very unappealing, no wonder it was quiet. You can't go down to the lake, it is surrounded by a sheer drop down on jungly vertical cliff. There's a warning about crocodiles but we didn't see any; we saw a wild boar though!

One more fortress in Ternate is Fort Kalamata. A historical and unique place. This fortress is build by Portuguese and place next to the sea. Locals said that this fortres is design to trick the enemy at the battle. This fortress is managed well, so clean. But at the daytime, this place is really hot.

Small Star Fort in Ternate. Free entry. Built by Portuguese in 1540. Front wooden gates gone. Walls only about 12 foot high. You can walk around Fort. It's worth a look before you go and see Fort Oranje.

The shape of the fort is unique. The fort was build in the 15th century by the Portuguese, and was contested amongst the Spaniard, the Dutch and the British.

One of my favorite places in Ternate. The views to Tidore are superb, especially when you climb the walls. The perfect place for me to unwind, chillax, enjoy the view, soak up the atmosphere, and watch the boats/ferries traveling by :)

Its a small fort but has scenic 360° view where you can see the top of tidore, other islands and the port. MAGNIFICENT! They make the fort look good, clean and green. Cozy! It has guard and you need to pay 5k idr for motorcycle.

This is one of the relics of the Portuguese colonial era in Indonesia, especially Maluku Isands. This Fort of Tolukko remember us how The Portuguese came to Maluku for spices and defending it from other invaders like Spain and Dutch. The view from the top of fort is beautiful. You have to pay entrance ticket to vsit this place, just for managing the cleanliness of the fort. The fort location now is surrounding by cluster housing area.

One of the historical buildings in Ternate where we can learn about the history of the city itself. We can see the gamalama mountain and all the city of ternate from the fort. It's a nice place to visit look into google or wikipedia and read it's history before we go.

Ngade Lake is located in Ternate, which is one place that you can visit if you visit Ternate. this place is not far from the city center. a very beautiful view of the lake between the lake, mountains and the sea is a beautiful landscape. if you go to ternate dont forget to coming here and take a photo 😁

This is the iconic place of Ternate. Danau Ngade is special, because its water is freshwater although it located close to the sea. When in rainy season, the lake water is little bit cloudly. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy the view of the lake and Gamalama Montain as a background, really beautiful. This picture of Gamalama Mountain also printed on Indonesian banknotes in the IDR 1K denomination.

Great place

I have never seen so much trash in the water before, more than I have seen anywhere else in all of Indonesia. Especially on the northern side of the island. It was extremely heartbreaking and saddening to see. I couldn’t even swim as I would have been wading through trash the whole time.

Incredible - beautiful place with some of the nicest people you will ever meet. 4nights, 5 days allowed us to climb Mt Gamalama, snorkel, go diving, visit all the lakes and forts whilst getting a chance to visit hiri island. Can't emphasize how amazing and generous the people of Ternate are. A must see!!

Amazing city island that have great view and very friendly locals. Your visit here will keep reminding you that there are still many more beautiful, eastern part of Indonesia that you will need to explore and enjoy their scenery and culture.

Gud Island... Wonderfull Place to Relax...😊

Great views, crystal clear beaches to go diving and go mountain hiking. Overall a good island except for the drivers. Almost everyday I face drivers who could get me killed, from not having headlights on in the middle of the night to just plainly stopping in the middle of the road of rushing traffic just because its their ‘god given right’. Even by Jakartan standards its appalling, to the point I have to get an extra insurance. Please for your own safety always wear a helmet when driving motorcycles, wear your seatbelt and even if you think you are going slow go even slower. Abiding by the law and even practicing basic common sense won’t guarantee you of your survival here.

Nice day trip from Morotai. There is a ferry every day leaving the harbour, stopping at Kolorai and then Dodola for 50k both ways. It leaves around 10am and comes back around 5pm. Some of the people at the harbour will tell you there is no ferry so you take a charter boat for 800k but keep asking other people! On the island there are nice beaches, ok snorkeling, you can rent bicycle or kayak and you can walk around the island. At the time I was there the wooden bridge going into the mangrove was broken and quite dangerous. There are also people selling drinks and food. It’s also a nice anchoring place for sailing boats. I wouldn’t do the trip with a charter boat as it is too expensive for what it is but with the ferry it’s totally worth it.

Love the islands but very limited facility. The passenger ferry crossing was broken therefore not many visitors; good, but there was no choice for food apart from grilled fish and fried bananas. Bicycle rental is Rp. 25k per hour. But you can easily circle the islands on foot. The mangrove walk was closed due to broken bridge/footpath, shame (Aug 2022). If going during midday sun, bring a hat, umbrella or something to cover your shoulders. There are quite a lot of sunflies, so cover up if you can. It's lovely to walk across to the small Dodola, make sure you cross back before the tides are in. The white sand reflects the sun and can be too bright to the eyes, good for photography though . The older cottages are already run down. Generally no maintenance on the facility. The loos were dirty. There are plenty of gazebos to sit around or just have a mat/towel on the sand also good

STUNNING....paradise...best views...Warmest clearest water...total tropical island and so quiet...Dodola is so worth a day trip...ferry goes at 10 and returns at 4 or grab a speed boat if you are not on a budget....YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT....only pot noodles and snacks on island and 1 resort apparently...amazing backdrop for photographers....exquisite birds there also...simple unspoilt paradise

Dodola Island is just unique and wonderful. No more words, but it's just enchanting. Blue Sea, White Beaches and Sand, Beach Line, and more you'll see in person. ❤

It's a small seaside park with shade trees and kids play ground. There are swings, monkey bars, slides, seesaws and merry-go-rounds. There is also a deck to see the sunrise. It's a good place to bring your kids.

A park located at the seashore with a nice view of speedboad traffic, fisherman activity, and some seagulls/crabs. There's many indonesian streetfoods here. It's pretty clean but there's some damaged/unrepaired facility. The park is located close to Ternate's landmark and Al-Munawar mosque

One out of 7 park's in north mollucas, have a great view, and also have a clean place so you can walk around there without anymore junk along the way. This was a very busy park, because so many people came here with their child also family. Overall it was a nice place to visit

Nukila Park is about 3 kilometers from Sutan Babullah Airport, Ternate. The place is easily accessible by vehicle and is in the city center. Taman Nukila also provides a playground for children. Many children play slides or swings in these places. While parents wait for children while looking at the sea view. The name Nukila was taken from the name of one of the queens who had ruled in Ternate, namely Ratu Nukila (Boki Rainha Nukila), the wife of Bayan Sirullah (Bayanullah, Bolief) at the Ternate Consultant in 1500 to 1522. Nukila, Indonesia's first female warrior to fight imperialism in the 16th century. Until exiled to Goa, located in India. Nukila Puteri Ibnu Mansur (Almansur) Sultan Tidore showed a harmonious relationship with the Sultanate of Ternate and Tidore. As a form of appreciation, its name is enshrined as the name of a marine tourism attraction in the city of Ternate. Google translate : Taman Nukila berada sekitar 3 kilometer dari Bandara Sutan Babullah, Ternate. Tempatnya mudah dijangkau akses kendaraan dan berada di pusat kota. Taman Nukila juga menyediakan tempat bermain untuk anak. Banyak anak-anak bermain perosotan ataupun ayunan di tempat tersebut. Sementara orang tua menunggu anak sambil melihat pemandangan laut tersebut.
