Imposing, medieval, Romanesque monastery & church ruins set on a mountain top.

The Monastery truly conveys its history and helps one imagine how life must of been in the medieval ages. A few tips to know before visiting for the first time like we did. There are three parking areas as you get close to the monastery, the last one is where the road ends. There is also a castle and a church to visit while there all short hikes from the monastery. Bring a jacket as it’s cooler and windy depending on the weather. We went on a cloudy rain and it was very dramatic with the fog and clouds but also chilly. Will try again when it’s warmer. The gift shop has unique local made gifts. The restaurant cafe has incredible views of the valley below and prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly.
Fascinating to learn about the monks and villagers who lived here long ago. The monastery has one of the most impressive Romanesque churches ever built, I can only imagine what it would be like to have a beautiful Mass there. There is an old wine cellar where the monks made wine in later centuries in order to sustain their life in the monastery.
Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is a delight — both for the eyes and for history lovers. Perched on the Verdera mountain overlooking the Bay of Llançà and El Port de la Selva, the monastery offers sweeping Mediterranean views that are nothing short of spectacular. Overall, I’d say it’s more than worth the trip. The mix of dramatic landscapes, architectural beauty, and historic atmosphere makes Sant Pere de Rodes a highlight of Catalonia.
An hour’s drive from Girona reveals fantastic views, plenty of hiking trails, and a monastery. The Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery is a wonderful place. The Mediterranean landscapes visible from here are simply breathtaking. One of the most remarkable sights in Catalonia. My family 's favourite place. Definitely recommend it.
Beautiful building that was visible from our vacation home. After seeing this monastery for a week standing across the water we decided to visit it on one of our last days. We drove up the mountain and walked from the parking area which was about a 5-10 minute walk. At the entree we paid €6 p.p. to enter the building. Once inside we walked around and made some pictures of the building and our group members. The visit was definitely worth it, as it shows quite a beautiful piece of history.
€6pp to enter (€4 concession). Great monastery, free audio tour accessible on your phone (wifi provided), wonderful history and experience with lots of different parts accessible to visitors.
Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery is an enchanting gem that surpassed all my expectations. Its ancient Romanesque architecture and serene ambiance create a captivating atmosphere, while the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea add to its allure. Exploring its historic corridors and tranquil cloisters was an unforgettable journey through history and spirituality. Additionally, visitors will find convenient facilities including toilets and a restaurant, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience at Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery.
Nice to see, not only the monastery but the amazing sea views from there.

Best Diving Center in Port de la Selva. Thierry and his team are very professional! Diving spots are just fantastic.
The place is very beautiful. BUT first thing: we arrived at the center and we did the dive at 14.45 and they told us at the phone that the boat is leaving by 15. So we waited in front of the shop at 14.30. We waited and waited and waited. In the end I looked at the Harbour and said to my friend, maybe they are expecting us to go to the boat directly? So we went and yes. They would have just left without us if we didn’t checked the boat. The moment we told them that nobody told us, they laughed. It was all very hectic, we prepared the gear and on the boat (which is a big one so also fine, but in my opinion Stress before a dive is never a nice situation). On top of this, I don’t understand Catalan, so they spoke mostly to my friend even tho they were able to speak english. Not could if you don’t feel super comfortable under water. (Which I am luckily) About the instructor: she was very friendly, but as I said, maybe also bit stressed so I had to ask my friend a lot of times what she said. Because she was only talking in spanish/catalan. She also touched a lot of the underwater world, I hope in the future she might take care of our precious world a bit more :/ especially the corals. On top. There was this French guy. (The boss) Somebody else wrote about him already. He was really talking with us from above and in the end we asked him for the QR code to certificate our look book. First he didn’t understand what we want and there were people behind us waiting to pay so he said: what ever you want but it has to be QUIK. So we went to the shower first and came back and asked again, this time he aaid: “Never heard of this, you are the first who asked me about it” but in a tone UFF! Chicos. We just payed 60€ for a dive with you, please be a bit more respectful what’s going on??? I’m super sorry to feel the need to write such a long post. But no. Not again!
Child review: We had a great dive for just getting to ten meters we saw an abundant amount of fish at around seven or eight meters, also another awesome bit was the cave at approximately eight meters we got to a cave and when we swam though it when we looked around the walls were stained red with coral all in all i had a great time. Thanks Thierry and Marco From Seb from New Zealand 🇳🇿 Mum review: What a great dive! I wasn’t so sure about doing a dive, as spoilt with diving in Fiji and the pacific and didn’t think we would see much in the Mediterranean. But my son was super keen. We had a unexpectedly amazing dive, the boat was fantastic, equipment excellent, and the fish - we so saw so many shoals, some great coral, 🪸 I felt safe for my young son, and we got to explore a cave with beautiful red coral - it was exhilarating, plus experience thermalclines. The rest of the family had a lovely snorkeling trip on the boat. Thanks for the memories. Highly recommend these guys if you’re thinking about diving here. Ruth - New Zealand 🇳🇿
I’ve spent a wonderful diving week with my club in El Port de la Selva thanks to Thierry and his crew. The boat is incredibly comfortable (the elevator is a true delight after a dive !), the team was very nice and made sure we had everything to enjoy our dives, and they’ve brought us to amazing sites (I can’t wait to go back to Massa d’Or, it was one of my best dives ever). Thanks for those memories !
(Translated by Google) A great club that we love to come back to. Thierry has a great organization with a great boat and a great team. They're very professional and super friendly. We had a great Ascension weekend. Thanks to Thierry, Marco, Didier, and Nicokas, with whom we dived several times. We'll definitely be back to dive with you. Hoping for better visibility to better enjoy this magnificent reserve. Plus, for the last dive, we were even treated to a visit from the dolphins on the way to the "Farallons."
I enjoyed diving with Thierry, Marcos and the entire team!

(Translated by Google) I would have given it a 5-star rating for the boat alone. It's designed for comfort, with its elevator, the fact that the gear (except for tanks) stays on board, and its restrooms (the ladies particularly appreciated this), but also: beautiful dives, decent accommodations considering the price, and attentive staff. Amazing spot to learn how to wing foil! The classes go in a certain sequence. The instructors were kind enough to take a few photos of me during the Wake Foiling part to get my balance down before bringing everything together for Wind Foiling. If there is no wind I definitely recommend trying out wake foiling, such an amazing experience in a beautiful scenic place. Highly recommend this spot!
Our little one @11 had the best windsurf and catamarán course ever. J is the best tutor, kind and passionate, hopefully he’ll be around next year too🤞. Highly recommended school.
We went for two hour windsurfing lessons as a family. We had different levels of experience coming in with me having surfed a lot 30 years ago, but my wife and son had no experience. Our instructor was great in accommodating our different experience levels. At the end of two hours my wife and son made great progress and had a lot of fun. Ideally we should have had follow-up lessons but unfortunately we did not plan this well as we had to travel to Madrid the next day. However this is highly recommended as a top experience if you want to invest the time to learn a new skill and have fun.
Rented a prehistoric Hobie 14 that was literally falling apart in front of us. Beautiful town, great beach and friendly guys at Windiscovery but that Hobie needs to go into retirement

(Translated by Google) The beach isn't bad, but with all the beautiful beaches around, they have to let us use the parking lot. I know we've complained about being so far away before, but it's really annoying to turn around and have car wheels on your nose (because the beach is narrow). And how do they explain that they let us use a beach where we can't swim???
(Translated by Google) Very quiet stone/sand beach where you can go with dogs. Very close to the town and accessible. It has a free parking lot right above it. Crystal clear water. Very accommodating. Pera (Peter) was our personal tour guide and he was so much fun and patient. Took us kayaking and told us many stories about his adventures and Spain culture. Take care Pera! We will visit again sometime😉💪
Very helpful and friendly staff. We rented the kayaks and had a great time in the bay.
Best place in Port de la Selva for Stand up Paddling, Kayak rentals and to learn how to Windsurf. Friendly Staff and Instructors 🏖🚣🏽‍♂️🏄🏽‍♂️🤙🏻
Vacations begins in the moment you enter the very well organized shop of Albert. One of the nicest surf-station owner making your stay very agradable. We rented Windsurfing material and did some Wing foiling. Albert gave us great advices, showed us some important moves and makes us enjoy our stay to the fullest. Sails and Boards were all up to date in new conditions. He even has JP Slalom boards.
Awesome place! My partner and I booked a 90 minute Stand Up session with Albert - we’d never done this before - and he was great, very helpful and patient, and stuck with us for the full session. We got a lot of paddling done, it was an amazing experience and loads of fun. Recommended!
I highly recommend this rental / school. The equipment is new, ideal location in beautiful scenery and great service! Albert (owner) is a great teacher and knows how to pass on his passion.
Good equipment and service. Windsurf, SUP and kayak. Skilled and friendly owners and staff. Adosveles is the place to take windsurf lessons, also for advanced windsurfers.
Very kind team and excellent service. Our kids really loved the windsurfing course.
