What a delightful place to visit! We have been meaning to pay Solva Woollen Mill a visit for a fortnight. Today’s rain made us do just that. It did not disappoint: a lovely cuppa in the tea room, a look in the studio and some purchases from the shop. Just Gorgeous!!! 💚 🐑 ❤️
What an interesting place and in such an idyllic place. There's a wide range of wooden goods for sale, working looks, a lovely waterwheel and a cafe. One lady member of staff is particularly friendly and attentive, rushing between till and café. Well worth a visit.
We visited Solva Woollen Mill when holidaying in Pembrokeshire. We wanted to take back local woollen items made with Welsh wool, and this place was just the perfect place. We bought a runner for our kitchen, a rug that we think will go very well in front of our fireplace and a couple of jumpers and ponchos. Very happy with their collection and the absolutely lovely staff. My dad is a retired textile engineer, so I’m definitely visiting again with him.
Absolutely lovely place! The beautifully woven textiles, rugs, jumpers, and various wool products are a true testament to the craftsmanship at Solva Woollen Mill. The oldest mill in Pembrokeshire. The coffee, adorned with traditional patterns, adds a special touch to the visit. I also loved that you can purchase bags of thrums for just £5, allowing you to own a piece of this heritage and support the mill. A must-visit for anyone in Pembrokeshire!
Well worth a visit to this small mill, shop and tea room, to marvel at the craftsmanship and dedicated work involved in weaving and to sigh over (if not purchase!) the beautiful rugs, carpets and blankets sold from its shop. Really cute tea room too with very tasty cakes.
Really enjoyable visit to a working woollen mill. You can watch the rugs being made, the overflow wheel working, visit the charming shop and enjoy a delicious cake and tea. Well worth a visit.
It annoys me when people write reviews and say the place is expensive without doing due diligence on looking at the costs of similar goods in similar places (not that there are many working mills outside of Yorkshire or Lancashire tbh though). Yes you can buy an artisan product here - hand woven using Welsh and English wool - and they are expensive but have a look at an Emma Mellor or if you think they're expensive a Jaipurrug and you'll see what value they actually represent. I'm also irritated by those who say you can't learn about weaving but the fellow I had a chat with who was working the loom (an ex-journalist re-skilling and keeping these beautiful old machines running) was super knowledgeable and told us lots about the wool, how it's worked and where the textiles they make end up; my suggestion is always ask if you wanna know! Anyway, a beautiful little diversion, nice brew and some very nice postcards - well worth an hour of anyone's time im humble opinion.
We dropped into Solva Woollen Mill and ended up seeing a piece of history at work. It’s tucked just inland from the coast in the village of Middle Mill and claims the title of Pembrokeshire’s oldest working woollen mill, in operation since 1907. The 'vintage' pieces like the timecard machine were really cool to see!

Belated review but me and 3 girlfriends came here a few years ago and I still think about it! Such beautiful, otherworldly artwork. Raul was a pleasure to chat to and listen to on the piano too. Wish I lived in the area but next time I’m nearby I’ll definitely be back x
Nice gallery and coffee shop In Solva high street just down from the small bridge.
I went in and was ignored by various staff present, even when trying to greet them. Having visited many similar galleries in my time, I always value when artists take time to greet customers and perhaps even chat about their artwork. I will be sticking to those other galleries in future. Felt very unwelcome and will not be returning.
What a haven!!! Such a lovely atmosphere. Raul and Heather are fantastic gallery hosts. I felt able to view the artwork in my own way without feeling any pressure or that I was intruding into their space. And a genuine pleasure to see Raul working on his current piece.
Leaving 3 stars, as to not reflect badly on the other artists. However, when visiting I took a quick, general photograph of the space (not of any specific artwork). Instead of politely explaining the no photo policy (of which I did not see any signage), I was rudely confronted by a lady sitting in the cafe area. This left me feeling patronised and uncomfortable, will not be returning.
Fabulous place, quirky and friendly. I was booked a suprise workshop with Raul, what a treat! Totally inspired and ready for the next phase of my life journey "retirement" with lots of art! Thanks Raul excited to now get out the paints and have fun 🎨definitely recommend. Also big thank you to Heather for organising the workshop, and your coffee is superb ❤️
Amazing place, amazing artwork and amazing and lovely people!

What a lovely shop! We got carried away by the scent of the soap selection. They have an excellent selection of local souvenirs, soap, throws, scarfs, mugs, creams, clothing, shortbread and fudge. Park in the harbour area and walk across the road. A favourite of ours.
This shop is so lovely! There is a huge range of items and really is something for everyone. My 4 year old was overwhelmed by it all and couldn’t stop touching the stock but the staff didn’t mind at all and were so kind to her. They chatted to her, let her look at everything and understood her excitement. For this reason alone we would absolutely come back!
Lovely shop full of lovely things, crockery and clothes. We come here a couple of times a year for the last 20 years.
Super cute shop with absolutely everything you may need for a souvenir from South Wales ! Two ladies who served us were so lovely and it's dog friendly
A lovely (I would say little but it's not!) place, spanning 3 townhouses and 3 floors! Many beautiful and quality items, but the star of the day for me was the massive range of lovely jewellery and the incredibly friendly staff! A truly lovely place to wander around!
Lovely store with a variety clothing and gifts/souvenirs. There was a great choice of clothing from several brands, and fitting rooms for trying on. Plentiful choice of greetings cards at reasonable prices and beautiful glass and china too. Something for everyone!
Great little shop. A tardis of fun and funky stuff
Thank you so much for sending my son his replacement pair of gloves - we received them today, before I had actually paid for them over the phone. He's so happy to have them! I was very touched that you had sent them to me before receiving the payment - fantastic customer service skills and faith that I would phone with my credit card details - very unusual nowadays to come across such faith in customers. Wishing you and the rest of the "Window on Wales" team a great rest of the year, a wonderful Christmas and successful New Year! ❤🧡💛💚💙💟💜
