Place of worship
St Davids Cathedral, a 12th-century edifice, is a place of medieval pilgrimage housing the shrine of St David and a treasury. Nestled in the valley, the cathedral's beauty is revealed as you wander through the city's quaint streets. This ancient site has been drawing pilgrims for centuries. Inside, visitors can explore its cool and quiet interior before heading to nearby St Davids Bishops Palace.
Finally got round to visiting the famous cathedral in the blazing sun today. Not the biggest (it’s like a very big parish church), not the most glamorous, but awash with history and tranquility. They suggested a fiver donation to get in which is very reasonable compared to many cathedrals. If you’re a bit of a miser you don’t have to pay. Nice cafe, shop etc. Short, steep walk to the tiny town. Plenty of pubs and ice cream shops (great on a hot summer day; less ideal in the winter). Not great for parking.
Paul W — Google review
One of my favourite places to visit whenever we are in Pembrokeshire. A beautiful cathedral offering peace and sanctity. Information boards throughout the building. A lovely cafe. Parking is not too far away with several blue badge spots. The cathedral is wheelchair friendly.
Dave R — Google review
So easy to find and car park literally across the road, though it is small and may be an issue at peak time. The cathedral grounds are amazing, and you can access all areas. Lots to see and learn and the cathedral is stunning inside and out. Also can take your four-legged friends when touring the grounds so a fab few hours out for all.
Joanne B — Google review
Walking tour with very well informed guide. Ked us down the path to the Bishops Palace with a walk by the grand cathedral. Details about the times, job description of the Bishops and the work entailed in the buildings. Wonderful opportunity
Marla W — Google review
St David’s Cathedral is breathtaking—a place rich in history and full of tranquility. Walking through its ancient stone walls, you feel the weight of centuries of worship. The peaceful atmosphere invites reflection, making it a truly special and spiritual landmark to visit in Wales.

First time visiting. Wow just wow, fantastic cathedral. Really beautiful. The village/town has lots of nice shops. Completely worth a visit. Will be going back
Matt H — Google review
What a cracking place to vist we live a cathedral tbh but this was well worth it. Nice staff loads of information and we also had Cadw membership to get into the Bishops palace for free. Well worth seeing as well sadly we missed the gate house but still a cracking vist do worth it.
Robert P — Google review
An absolute stunner of a cathedral. Parking is a little way away from the city and there isn't a huge amount of spaces which could be a problem at busy periods. The cathedral has different time periods and architectural styles. There is so much to see, so much history to learn. There is also a cafe on site with toilets. The bishops palace is nearby, (also worth a look (charge)) do be aware its a working church and there are private services which can restrict entering, so do some homework before you go

Island
Ramsey Island, located off the coast of Pembrokeshire, is a nature reserve covering 640 acres of protected land. It's known for its dramatic cliffs, caves, and diverse wildlife including birds, seals, and porpoises. The island offers safe nesting grounds for various bird species such as chough and peregrine. Visitors can enjoy boat trips to observe the resident Atlantic grey seals and may even spot whales and dolphins from May to September.
The walk is so fun! On a hot day its perfect but make sure to bring enough water.
Cerys L — Google review
Great place to explore the wildlife, boat trips leave at 10 and 12 return at 1600, we did the 10 till 1600 and just about did the whole island, definitely worth it, don't forget food and drink as there's not much else there, just wildlife 😁.
Pete H — Google review
Brilliant island for those interested in nature photography! I visited in September and there were hundreds of seals. I do recommend a telescopic camera as the largest beach with seals is not accessible by foot.

Whitesands Bay is a coastal paradise known for its golden sands, stunning sunsets, and excellent surfing conditions. The beach offers amenities such as a shop, cafe, seasonal lifeguard, and tent-camping site. Surrounded by green and gold fields, the area holds historical significance as the departure point of St Patrick's journey to convert Ireland in the 6th century. During low tides, ancient remains and fossilized stumps of a prehistoric forest are revealed on the beach.
Fantastic open beach with great backdrop of hills. Some interesting rock formations too. Dog loved this beach. Very close to St Davids so good to combine with a "city" visit. Very good facilities in car park although very disappointed you had to pay 40p to use the loo!!!
André M — Google review
Beautiful beach ideal for surfing and body boarding. £6 parking for the day. Toilets cost 40p and there is a cafe on site. Lovely walks across the front to some shallow caves.

Solva Woollen Mill, located on the banks of the River Solfach near Solva village, is the oldest working mill in Wales. This family-run business specializes in crafting flat woven rugs and runners from 100% British wool using traditional skills and original equipment that has been in use for over a century.
What a delightful place to visit! We have been meaning to pay Solva Woollen Mill a visit for a fortnight. Today’s rain made us do just that. It did not disappoint: a lovely cuppa in the tea room, a look in the studio and some purchases from the shop. Just Gorgeous!!! 💚 🐑 ❤️
Mo S — Google review
What an interesting place and in such an idyllic place. There's a wide range of wooden goods for sale, working looks, a lovely waterwheel and a cafe. One lady member of staff is particularly friendly and attentive, rushing between till and café. Well worth a visit.
Simon — Google review
We visited Solva Woollen Mill when holidaying in Pembrokeshire. We wanted to take back local woollen items made with Welsh wool, and this place was just the perfect place. We bought a runner for our kitchen, a rug that we think will go very well in front of our fireplace and a couple of jumpers and ponchos. Very happy with their collection and the absolutely lovely staff. My dad is a retired textile engineer, so I’m definitely visiting again with him.
Vijay R — Google review
Absolutely lovely place! The beautifully woven textiles, rugs, jumpers, and various wool products are a true testament to the craftsmanship at Solva Woollen Mill. The oldest mill in Pembrokeshire. The coffee, adorned with traditional patterns, adds a special touch to the visit. I also loved that you can purchase bags of thrums for just £5, allowing you to own a piece of this heritage and support the mill. A must-visit for anyone in Pembrokeshire!
Ke H — Google review
Well worth a visit to this small mill, shop and tea room, to marvel at the craftsmanship and dedicated work involved in weaving and to sigh over (if not purchase!) the beautiful rugs, carpets and blankets sold from its shop. Really cute tea room too with very tasty cakes.
Hilary C — Google review
Really enjoyable visit to a working woollen mill. You can watch the rugs being made, the overflow wheel working, visit the charming shop and enjoy a delicious cake and tea. Well worth a visit.
Lynne H — Google review
It annoys me when people write reviews and say the place is expensive without doing due diligence on looking at the costs of similar goods in similar places (not that there are many working mills outside of Yorkshire or Lancashire tbh though). Yes you can buy an artisan product here - hand woven using Welsh and English wool - and they are expensive but have a look at an Emma Mellor or if you think they're expensive a Jaipurrug and you'll see what value they actually represent. I'm also irritated by those who say you can't learn about weaving but the fellow I had a chat with who was working the loom (an ex-journalist re-skilling and keeping these beautiful old machines running) was super knowledgeable and told us lots about the wool, how it's worked and where the textiles they make end up; my suggestion is always ask if you wanna know! Anyway, a beautiful little diversion, nice brew and some very nice postcards - well worth an hour of anyone's time im humble opinion.

We dropped into Solva Woollen Mill and ended up seeing a piece of history at work. It’s tucked just inland from the coast in the village of Middle Mill and claims the title of Pembrokeshire’s oldest working woollen mill, in operation since 1907. The 'vintage' pieces like the timecard machine were really cool to see!

The vibrant Raul Speek Gallery in Pembrokeshire is a colorful haven showcasing the works of the renowned Cuban artist, Raul Speek. The gallery not only features his pieces but also exhibits art from international artists. Visitors can also participate in art workshops to unleash their creativity. Housed in an old chapel on Solva's main street, the gallery offers a quirky coffee shop with delicious homemade cakes and a selection of gifts and jewelry.
Belated review but me and 3 girlfriends came here a few years ago and I still think about it! Such beautiful, otherworldly artwork. Raul was a pleasure to chat to and listen to on the piano too. Wish I lived in the area but next time I’m nearby I’ll definitely be back x

I went in and was ignored by various staff present, even when trying to greet them. Having visited many similar galleries in my time, I always value when artists take time to greet customers and perhaps even chat about their artwork. I will be sticking to those other galleries in future. Felt very unwelcome and will not be returning.
Fin C — Google review
What a haven!!! Such a lovely atmosphere. Raul and Heather are fantastic gallery hosts. I felt able to view the artwork in my own way without feeling any pressure or that I was intruding into their space. And a genuine pleasure to see Raul working on his current piece.
Sue H — Google review
Leaving 3 stars, as to not reflect badly on the other artists. However, when visiting I took a quick, general photograph of the space (not of any specific artwork). Instead of politely explaining the no photo policy (of which I did not see any signage), I was rudely confronted by a lady sitting in the cafe area. This left me feeling patronised and uncomfortable, will not be returning.

Fabulous place, quirky and friendly. I was booked a suprise workshop with Raul, what a treat! Totally inspired and ready for the next phase of my life journey "retirement" with lots of art! The Bishops is a charming pub and restaurant located in the heart of St. Davids, a seaside village. It offers a seasonal Welsh menu in a rustic interior adorned with wooden furnishings. This establishment has been popular among locals and visitors for years, known for its family-friendly environment and occasional live music nights. The bright and vibrant atmosphere, spacious dining area, and beer garden make it an inviting spot for families to enjoy traditional Welsh dishes six days a week.
Everything was great! To be more specific, the food was very tasty and filling. The burger was especially good — juicy and full of flavor. The second dish we tried was also excellent. Portions were generous, which was a nice bonus. Overall, the place has a really pleasant and cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed it a lot and would happily come back.

We enjoyed a few nights in the Bishops whilst staying the week in St.Davids. We had fun and the food is decent. The beer selection is broadly similar to the Cross and the Farmers, great for cask beer not so hot for craft beer. Usual selection of lagers and a couple of ciders . The outside seating area is really nice with great views and it makes a great sun trap! ☀️ The people here were all super attentive, and very efficient. Never had to wait long even when busy.

One of the best pubs we have enjoyed on our travels across the UK. Lovely atmosphere (wood beams, low ceilings, wood burner perfect for a cold October evening), plus a lively local clientele. Situated just across the street from St. Davids War Memorial (town square) and minutes from the amazing cathedral. Real ales on offer and the best burger I've had in some time. We enjoyed it for dinner on our first night in St. Davids and came back for after dinner drink the next night.

Beautiful place we stopped for lunch (did not stay the night as was already booked somewhere else). Warm welcome from friendly and open people. Seating outside with plenty of shade if needed. Mouth-watering menu. Food was delicious. Best lobster. Dog-friendly, and could also buy some chews for the dogs. There is a little park near-by for children and a moderate walk to the lovely beach. What a fabulous pub! Ideally located in the coastal town of Solva, Pembrokeshire where you can pop in for a drink or something to eat after taking a walk along the beach or woodland path with beautiful views. My family and I celebrated my 70th Birthday there with an excellent buffet for 30 guests, prepared by Robin and his very helpful team. We stayed three nights, eating in the restaurant [14 people], and breakfasted each morning. The food was super and service excellent throughout. A short walk takes you past some interesting shops, good pubs and down to the harbour which is very picturesque.

Wonderful food and a fantastic dining experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and full of positive energy. We especially loved the décor with the hop garlands adding a cosy, characterful touch. The food was clearly made with care, served in generous portions, and full of flavour. One review mentioned the menu not being large enough, but a more focused menu usually means higher quality, which is certainly the case here. We visited in July and would be delighted to come back again.

had the most incredible soft life reset thanks to this beautiful couple. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcomed, cared for, and nourished—body, mind, and spirit. Every detail was thoughtful and intentional, creating a space that felt safe, restorative, and deeply grounding. I left lighter, calmer, and filled with gratitude. A true gift.

Went last night with my partner for some food Booking was fairly easy and staff were accommodating The room we sat in was quite full so very loud. Wait time was okay for food.. didn’t bother with desert and the wait time got out of hand so left to go elsewhere for desert Waitress didn’t know much about what was on the menu or what was in certain drinks etc so had a coke instead , had the lamb cutlets which were nice but not very filling so had to order sides with it as it seemed to just be two bits of lamb in a sauce Unfortunately the menu wasn’t very large and not that much choice like it used to be back in 2016 There is now only 2 fat burgers in 2016/17 there used to be so many choices in burgers and they used to be SO good! Price quite good £60 for 2 people just mains and sides and drinks Such a shame about the menu choices and lack of burgers now on the menu as they used to be me and mg friends go to just for the burgers alone!! Don’t think we’ll be returning any time soon gone down hill since a few years ago

MamGu Welshcakes, located in the picturesque harbor village of Solva, is renowned for serving some of the best traditional and alternative flavored Welsh cakes. The shop offers a variety of sweet options like cinnamon, honey and lavender, as well as savory choices such as cheese and leek. Additionally, they cater to vegan and gluten-free preferences. Visitors can also enjoy Pembrokeshire tea and excellent coffee while indulging in these delectable treats.
I am IN LOVE! I had the bee sting bap and oh my… I have never been so satisfied by a meal ever! Absolutely delicious. You think £8 is a lot but you get a huge bread roll, 2 big halloumi slices, a lovely hash brown then two big bits of bacon. PLUS - a delicious Welsh cake on top. The hot honey is so unique! I highly recommend! In terms of everything else: staff are friendly, lovely cafe area (nicer than the last cafe that was in the cathedral) and they even have trivia cards whilst you wait. Lemon, mint and plain water ready for any table. Even grabbed a bag of their coffee grounds on the way out - excellent idea! Will be bringing that back to the plant shop I work in to show.

BEWARE Tourist trap cafe. Hyped up prices for basic food. A sausage roll and 2 ham sandwiches with one coffee came to £20. No value for money here and nothing special about it. The prices on the wine, Welsh cakes, and coffee beans were also crazy. Go to your local Londis beforehand and get yourself some sandwiches there. Save yourself 50% Edit, due to the reply. You're not a restaurant, you're a cafe within a cathedral whose main customers are tourists many of whom are the elderly. People don't want artisan anything in a cafe, or if some do, there should be other options for those who don't. A choice would be a better way of doing business. Your main customers are those who visit St David's for the cathedral and not to visit an 'artisan' cafe with extremely high prices. I saw the map on your wall where you get your produce from. No different to how far the Londis is or a local Premier store is, which people will pass on their way through to St David's. I make my own wine and mead, none of which could ever cost £35 a bottle, especially when it's made in bulk. Maybe your supplier is mugging you off? Also, you're not a coffee shop, so again, you're using other businesses prices to justify your own. The ham sandwich I had was certainly nothing special and overpriced. It certainly didn't feel or taste 'artisan'. One thin slice of ham in a bread roll. Shocking. And how about supporting local butchers? Try sourcing your sausage rolls from Motts in Pembroke ( less than £2 for 1) £3.50 for 1 sausage roll is scandalous. St David's is tiny and without the tourists you wouldn't be able to survive. Try using less staff too and pass the savings onto the customer. And lastly, Welsh cakes cost pennies to make. Again, why do you have to match other businesses in terms of costs to justify your own? Hi, I just wanted to review this awesome place! Went here on Saturday with my friend for breakfast and got chai latte (delicious) and my friend veggie breakfast while I had loaded veggie bun. We both have enjoyed our breakfast. I liked the bun itself but also the Welsh cake that been added to the top of it. The atmosphere is very nice. The only downfall was the waiting time despite of not being very busy.

So I accidentally visited the actual bakery in the industrial estate (another review going there!) but got to briefly visit the cafe and had the soup of the day - tomato soup with leek Welshcakes. After tasting the original that day, I didn’t expect savoury ones and holy moly it was delicious! Worked so well. I ended up buying 5 packs of different flavours to take home and this is a review from a friend I gave a pack to - he chose the triple chocolate: “Love the welshcakes :) It's like a cookie and bread and cake had a kid” Thank you for my first (and surely not last) Welshcakes. The people and atmosphere were just a lovely as the food I had the pleasure of eating. Kept me happy on the drive back to London!

We went there for breakfast and had a great table with delicious food, friendly service and the best welshcakes! The atmosphere is very good. You don’t have to enter St David’s cathedral to get there, if you don’t want to. But the cathedral can be recommended as well! Really impressive and interesting!

Had delicious coffee here and the welsh cakes were great. Lovely warmed up. We tried one of each flavour. Would be nice to have a larger variety as there were both chai and cinnamon welsh cakes which we found had a very similar flavour. The cinnamon ones were our favourites along with the traditional. Cafe is in a lovely setting - would definitely recommend a visit.

I really liked the way the café combines modern design with ancient architecture. We tried the Welsh cake breakfast with tea, which was delicious.

Nice cafe inside St David's Cathedral (no direct external access). Focusing on Welsh Cakes, but also with Rarebit, toasties, soups. It's in the old Rectory which is nice. Mushroom soup was a little thin. Rarebit tasted better than it looked. Ham and cheese toastie was a bit anemic and not very toasted. Welsh cakes are not my thing, but my partner loved them. They have sweet and savory varieties. Coffee and tea was good. We had no problem getting a lunch table on a rainy weekday. Trivial pursuit cards on every table are a nice conversation starter Neat idea.
