Beautiful shrine in the middle of the city. Very cool and calm place. Good surrounded and nature gives Divine vibes.
The Warabi Shrine was newly built at the end of the Meiji period (1868-1912) when the Hachiman Shrine and 18 smaller shrines were merged.
Nice shrine with pretty goshuin
Quite place, good for do me time.
(Translated by Google) I visited Waraku Shrine. Just a short walk from the Chuo 4-chome bus stop from Warabi Station on the JR Keihin Tohoku Line. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from Warabi Station. It was founded in 1901 by the combined enshrining of 18 nearby Mukakusha shrines. The precincts are quite large, and you can cross the first torii taiko bridge, pass through the Kagura hall, and reach the large torii gate across the road. There is a pond to the right of the Mikoshiden and Chikaraishi, and a number of shrines are enshrined in the back. The shrine is profound and wonderful. If you go around the back, you can visit the main shrine. At the shrine office, you can receive both handwritten and written stamps. I also received both.
(Translated by Google) The main shrine is equipped with a mirror, and enshrines various gods. The god of sweets is also enshrined here. There is also a portable shrine, a rice container (is this a local belief?), and a chikara stone.

Please note that the parking lot entrance is a little narrow. It's very well maintained and feels good. The area around the water purification facility was surrounded by trees, and I felt a difference in the atmosphere. There were many turtles drying their shells in the pond next to it. It was a very nice shrine.

(Translated by Google) The Former Arakawa River, which was the main stream and raging river before the Arakawa River was created by the Ina clan's flood control efforts during the Edo period, was located to the east as a natural fortification, and the castle was built in a marshland similar to Oshi Castle with earthen ramparts and dry moats typical of the Kanto region. The original castle was quite large, and is said to have stretched as far north as Kuizu Shrine and as far west as Iwatsuki Station, and as Kuizu Shrine, which was worshiped by the Kisai clan, one of the Seven Clans of Musashi, is located here, it is believed that the origins of Iwatsuki Castle were here during the Muromachi period.
The ruins are barely visible and nothing special. The park is spacious and full of beautiful nature. The highlight of this park was the huge number of Japanese cranes nesting in the trees. I’ve never seen so many in one place before.
(Translated by Google) Iwatsuki Castle Ruins is located in Iwatsuki Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. The visit included fishing, ramen, and a tour of historical sites. The exact year Iwatsuki Castle was built is unknown, but there are various theories. First, the original owner of the castle is unknown, and the castle was built before the middle of the Kamakura period. The name ``Iwatsuki Castle'' can already be seen in this area in an old document dated 1246 from the middle of the Kamakura period. Therefore, it is said to be at least before 1246. Another theory is that the castle was built in the mid-15th century (mid-1400s), as stated on the instruction signboard in the castle ruins park. ①The theory is that the castle was built in 1457 by the father and son of Ogigatani Uesugi Mochitomo and his senior retainers Ota Sukekiyo (Michizane) and Ota Dokan. ②Furthermore, there is a theory that the castle was built in 1478 by Motonaka Narita (Masashi Narita), the father of Narita Kenhata, the lord of Oshi Castle. (*The Narita clan and the Ota clan actually lived at Iwatsuki Castle for a time.) There are various historical theories...it's fun to imagine all sorts of things. I'm wondering if the first castle was built by one of the local powerful clans who were the vassals of the Kamakura period? I guess. This is just a personal guess. And were the Narita and Ota clans renovators of castles in later times? I think so. but… However, I believe that both the Narita and Ota clans were retainers of the Kamakura shogunate during the Kamakura period, or perhaps one of these two clans was the first to build Iwatsuki Castle before the middle of the Kamakura period. That's also possible. I don't know... (*In particular, the Narita clan, under Minamoto no Yoritomo, went to the front to subjugate the Fujiwara clan in Oshu as a retainer, and as a reward they received the area of present-day Kazuno City to Hirosaki City in Mutsu Province as their fiefdom, and their second and third son's lineage There is also a history in the Kamakura period when the lineage migrated and settled there, and it was divided into two parts, the Honkan area in the northern part of Musashi Province, which also included the Iwatsuki area, so the Narita clan has long had ties to this area.) In the castle ruins park, remains such as the black gate, back gate, earthworks, and dry moat remain. It was a relatively simple plain castle ruin. However, I have attached a map of the castle's territory from the past, and you can see that this castle ruins park is just a small part of the castle's territory. The Honmaru, Ninomaru, and Sannomaru areas that existed on the north side have become residential areas. Oh, and as I wrote earlier, the Narita clan, who lived in the castle from the end of the Muromachi period to the Sengoku period, served Minamoto no Yoritomo and the regent, the Hojo clan of Kamakura, as retainers of the Kamakura shogunate, as I wrote earlier, and then had the Koga Kubo Ashikaga clan and the Shogun Ashikaga clan as their lords, and after that, the Gohojo clan as their lords, and I think they owned Oshi Castle and Iwatsuki Castle. During Toyotomi Hideyoshi's attack on Hojo, he fought as a member of the Gohojo clan. The Narita clan's Oshi castle was the only one that did not fall during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's attack on Hojo. wonderful. Incidentally, the Gohojo clan itself resided at Iwatsuki Castle for a time, and the waffle-shaped shoji moat, which was a specialty of the Gohojo clan, was also discovered during excavations. Also, from the territory map, you can see that this area was once a vast natural stronghold surrounded by wetlands like a castle. You can imagine what it looked like in the past in your head. Please come and visit us. It's not bad.
(Translated by Google) **Iwatsuki Castle** is a flat castle located in Iwatsuki Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture from the medieval period to the early modern period. It played an important role in the Sengoku history of the Kanto region and the shogunate system of the Edo period. 1. History of Iwatsuki Castle Castle construction and the Sengoku period It is not clear when the castle was built, but it is said to have been around the 15th century during the Muromachi period. The most popular theory is that it was built by father and son Michizane and Dokan Ota, who served the Koga Kubo (Ashikaga clan). During the Sengoku period, it became an important base for the Hojo clan, and the Iwatsuki Ota clan (such as Ota Sukemasa) served as the castle's lord. When the Hojo clan was destroyed in 1590 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's conquest of Odawara, Iwatsuki Castle was also surrendered. Edo period After Tokugawa Ieyasu entered the Kanto region, the castle came under the control of the shogunate and functioned as the domain office of the Iwatsuki clan. The feudal lords of the castle have been successive feudal lords such as the Abe clan and the Aoyama clan. It was a strategic point protecting the northern part of Edo and was an important base for the Shogunate. After the Meiji period The castle was abandoned in 1873 (Meiji 6), and most of the castle was demolished. Currently, it is maintained as Iwatsuki Castle Ruins Park. 2. Characteristics of Iwatsuki Castle It was a flat castle with defensive facilities built around it using a natural river (Motoarakawa) and a moat. The scale of the castle was large, and in addition to the Honmaru, Ninomaru, and Sannomaru, there were many Kuruwa. During the Edo period, it developed as a castle town and also served as a transportation hub. 3. Current Iwatsuki Castle Ruins In Iwatsuki Castle Ruins Park, the remains of the main enclosure, earthworks, and moat remain. Nearby is the Iwatsuki Local Museum, where you can learn about Iwatsuki Castle and the history of the area. It is also known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms, and is crowded with people as a cherry blossom viewing spot in the spring. Iwatsuki Castle is an indispensable castle in the history of the Kanto region from the Sengoku period to the Edo period. You can also study for the Japanese Castle Certification Test, so we recommend visiting!

Really nice park with a grass field and cherry blossom trees in the spring. There a nice walking path along the perimeter as well as a small exercise area near the office/bathrooms. For the kids there is a playground with a mini athletic area. A nice place to have a bbq and parking is free! There is a big supermarket just down the street so this is a great place to have a picnic or bbq.
Nice place to enjoy with family. There is a big grass field to enjoy picnic. There is also playground for children and river where they can play in water. Also very beautiful in cherry blossom season.

Super great wide open area and facilities! the staff are a bit strict on dogs being off leash during operation hours, but I guess that's a good thing 😅 there is no bin (that I could find) and sometimes people leave chicken bones and stuff for dogs to find, but other than that a beautiful and tranquil park. I'll be spending a lot of time here in summer!
Good for regular jog, walk & exercise
Big play structure was very exciting for our children, although it was quite crowded on the weekend. We just stopped by but would love to go back with packed lunch and outdoor play gears.

Wonderful temple. Well kept and where you can find the peace
A quiet temple complex with some beautiful scenery and buildings.
Very ancient and bold Japanese religious architecture
Peaceful Buddhist temple with beautiful pagoda.
(Translated by Google) Founding year unknown. The principal image is the Eleven-faced Kannon. The year of its founding is unknown because records were lost due to a fire in the past, but the principal image, the 11-faced Kannon, was made in the late Heian period, and it is said that the temple was built around that time. In any case, it is a temple with a very splendid temple, so I believe it has wielded strong power since ancient times. In 1591, Tokugawa Ieyasu, who became the feudal lord of the Kanto region, issued a red seal to this temple, giving it 20 koku of temple territory. Today, this temple still houses the red stamps issued by successive shoguns up to the 14th shogun, Iemochi. In 1942, the Japanese military stationed in Nanjing discovered the remains of Master Sanzang and handed them over to the Wang Zhaoming government (Nanjing government = Japanese puppet government) that was in Nanjing at the time. The Wang Zhaoming government offered to erect a relic tower and donate some of the relics to Japan. At that time, the temple's chief priest at the time, Hidemine Wagami Kuramochi, as a representative of the Japan Buddhist Federation, brought Sanzo's spiritual bones to Japan. Even now, the relics of Sanzo Hoshi are kept in the reliquary of this temple. There are many cultural properties designated by Warabi City, such as the wooden eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva statue, the red seals of successive Tokugawa shoguns, the child-rearing Jizo, the Rokujizo stone Buddha, and the Mewari Jizo. Great okonomiyaki, but be sure to order some appetizers as well! Just as good if not maybe a bit better! No English menu, but staff is very patient and helpful. The location is a little hard to find. It is not on street level. Soft bank is at the street level, Hassho is on the second story. Customers will line up early on the stairs leading up to the restaurant. I queued up at 4:20 PM, forty minutes before opening. I was able to snag the last seat at the counter in the first round of serving. So be prepared to wait. But the seats directly by the griddle are great. The chefs will hand you a little plate and spatula, which you use to move your meal off the griddle, which is directly attached to the counter.
One of only a few Hiroshima style okonomiyaki places recognized by Hiroshima's okonomiyaki master. Good service and good selection of teppan goodies.
One of the best place to eat Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki. Most of the time are clowded and need make a booking or wait for a moment. Portion of Okonomiyaki is kind of bigger than expected if you never tried Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki but you should try Okonomiyaki with Soba Ikaten and chopped scallions topping.
30 years in Tokyo and have tried okonomiyaki everywhere. This is the best there is. Been going for 15 years plus on a regular basis. Great sake. Let Master choose one for you. Great teppanyaki too. Everything is excellent!
Perfect move of chefs. A little bit salty but tastes good
Very popular with the locals, they serve delicious Hiroshima style okinomiyaki, they don't have an English menu though
It’s Hassho. It is literally the best Okonomiyaki in the world.

(Translated by Google) Warabi Station: This station is nicknamed Warabistan. Because the station is close to the city center, it is crowded in the evenings because there are many people getting on and off the train. Both the east and west exits of the station are thriving because there are many restaurants and izakayas operating there. Pachinko, izakaya, snacks, and karaoke are more common in the east exit area. At the east exit, there are a lot of foreigners, and you can see a lot of them. Information on the internet says that it is unsafe, but that was not the case. However, there were some areas of concern such as the roof of the bicycle parking lot in front of the station was torn and the warning sign was dented. This may be the reason why it is said that the security and local characteristics are not good.

It's here. Even though I had explained that it was a mistake on the station's part, I was suspected and criticized in a harsh manner. It was my first time to experience something like this, and the thought of going to Warabi after that made me feel sick. I have to go to my husband's parents' house next week, but I'm already feeling unwell. I hated going to Warabi even if I used other means of transportation. I wonder why that old lady is working as a station attendant... she's not suited for it, so she should quit. I haven't used Warabi Station for a while, but I hope they've stopped using it. The west side, where Warabi-juku, one of the five main roads along the Nakasendo Route, was located during the Edo period, prospered. However, Kawaguchi City began actively rezoning the area in the 1950s, and the east side has now caught up in urban development. Until the Saikyo Line opened, Warabi Station had more passengers than Kawaguchi Station, and even now, the last train runs late. went on 3/25 after booking through instagram about 3 weeks prior. i recommend booking as soon as possible since spots fill up quickly! i stayed at the shibuya tobu hotel and it was a 2 minute walk, so very convenient. the salon is on the 3rd floor and you take the stairs on the outside of the building i loved the salon interior and atmosphere, and everyone was really kind :) my nail tech was kaori and she did a great job, i loved my set! 🤍 i will definitely be back next time im in tokyo 😊
I first knew about Disco through a TikTok post and have been booking appointments with Kaori for quite a while now. Kaori is super friendly and experienced. She is fluent in English, so it's very easy to talk with her as I showed her some inspo pictures that I have. I just let her do whatever style she wants on my nails based on the inspo pics and always end up in love with how my nails look in the end! So my experiences with Kaori have always been a blast! ^^ Everyone at the studio is lovely, highly recommended!! 😊
I'm so glad to have discovered Kaori. Booking was simple through the link on her Instagram and the nail salon is tastefully designed, in a great location in Tokyo and the music creates such a nice vibe. I'm very happy with my nails and I've received loads of compliments - "they look like a work of art". Sad that I have to take them off!
I had the best experience getting my nails done by Kaori at DISCO! Her attention to detail, creativity, and precision are unmatched. Every nail was a mini masterpiece! 💅 Kaori is warm, professional, and truly takes the time to understand what you want, while offering her creativity that elevates your style. I loved how she blended soft, neutral tones with bold chrome accents. My nails felt modern, polished, and so me. The salon itself is clean, calming, and stylish. You can tell they care about quality and the overall vibe. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about their craft and client experience, Kaori is the one. I can’t wait to come back when I am back in Tokyo. Highly recommend! ✨
Nagisa is an artist! She is so talented and made my nails look like a work of art. The manicure alone was so thorough and gentle. So happy and will definitely come back every time we’re in Japan Thank you Nagisa!
I got my nails done at Disco's second location ROOT (also in Shibuya) by Kanako! Booking through their link was super easy, even as a foreigner. Kanako was quiet but very detail-oriented and efficient. I showed her the colors I wanted and an inspiration photo, and she took it from there. It’s not the cheapest; the prices are comparable to Los Angeles, but the quality is excellent. I wish I lived nearby so I could get my nails done by her regularly. I highly recommend Kanako and DiscoROOT for your nails in Tokyo!
Had a nice and lovely gel manicure experience here. I was able to book an appointment 2 months in advance with Kaori Yamada as my nail artist via instagram. I chose to use inspiration photos and Kaori was very skillful in interpreting and transforming them into nail designs. Highly recommend her with the quality and effort put in for the results. Absolutely love how they came out!
I had such a great experience at Disco Nail! I booked the 90-minute omakase design with Kaori-san, and it was amazing. The shop is super clean, cozy, and has such a welcoming vibe—it made me feel relaxed right away. Kaori-san is incredibly sweet and talented. She created a beautiful, one-of-a-kind design that I absolutely loved. I got so many compliments on my nails, and they lasted perfectly for over a month—no chips at all! If you’re looking for top-quality nail art and a chill, friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend Kaori-san at Disco Nail. I am coming back every time since then :) I’ve became a regular client ever since my first visit to Disco Nail. It’s always been hard for me to find a nail artist who truly connects with me—not just in personality, but also in style and quality of work.
