Worth of hiking to the top of the hill. The guide was very friendly in the museum. Ticket price only 2€/person. The road is not very steep, yet you better get a bottle of water and refresh yourself in a hot weather. The views from the castle are thrilling and the entire area is well maintained, green and clean. The museum is not very big, yet it stores mayne thousands of artifacts. One of them is a small ceramic place showing a battle in the sea, which is supposed to be the oldest artifact that proves such type of battle. When in Lamia or nearby, definitely pay a visit to the castle and museum. The management MUST work pretty much in promoting it as it is a national asset.
Nice museum. Well organised and maintained. It has exhibits with displays and artifacts from 3000bc until 150ac from local region. It is really interesting and you need 1hour to tour yourself around or a couple of hours if you want to explore the details.
Wonderful collection of archaeological finds--especially impressive display of pre-classical (1700-500BCE) artifacts from the Mycenean and Geometric periods. (Do install Google Lens to translate; a lot is Greek-only.)
It is not opened! I don't know why they don't let people know here but it is under renovation as of may of 2025.
Amazing museum! One of the best we have visited all arround Greece. They have a lot of pieces from diferent ages and they are in a great state of conservation. Do not miss jewlery, glass and ceramic collections! Great museum with great people working there!
Still closed, sadly not announced online …
I enjoyed visiting this local museum as it introduced me to a people and culture I was previously unfamiliar. The artifacts are housed in a restored hilltop fortress. Items are plentiful and although there is not much English, I was still able to appreciate the craftsmanship and historical value. I spent over an hour here and I practically had the entire museum to myself. The views from the museum grounds overlooking Lamía and the surrounding countryside are spectacular.
Really nice museum to visit - worth it!the employees were very nice to speak to & friendly as well.

Nowadays, this stadium probably has one of the best football fields in Greece. Also there you can enjoy watching the football team of Lamia, which competes in the Greek Superleague. The stadium becomes better day after day because of the football team of Lamia, as there is money being invested. Also it has a capacity of 5.500 seats.
Not much of a good stadium but it gets the job done.
