beautiful island ❤️ I was there for one day tour. I tried snorkeling for the first time in my life. I was super happy that I made it. there's no words that can describe how beautiful the sea is. I love to see all the animals under the calm water. I will definitely be back soon🏝️
Gili T is truly a dream! The water is a beautiful turquoise and you can snorkel right from the beach. The coral is unique and I saw countless beautiful fish and turtles. The sunsets are also gorgeous! I rented a bike and it was great! The island vibe is unbeatable – no stress, just sunsets, palm trees, and happy people.
Would highly recommend if you’re looking for an island with some nightlife! Lots of live music on the main road and great atmosphere all around. The only issue I have with the island is the unethical treatment of the horses here. I would not advise you use them as transport unless you absolutely must, lots of them are severely overworked and dehydrated.
My experience on Gili Trawangan, spanning four days, proved to be highly informative. The island's offerings, including bicycle exploration, local cuisine sampling, and snorkeling excursions, were exceptional. The scenic beauty of the locations was particularly striking.
There’s no frills in this review — just the real deal from my trip to paradise! Let’s dive right in 👇 Pearl of Trawangan This one’s a dream — from its gorgeous aesthetic to its perfect location. I didn’t get to stay here (it was sold out), but I wish I had. It’s far enough from the noisy main strip to feel relaxed, yet just a 10-minute walk if you want to join the action. Beach is right across the road. Pro tip: Don’t go to Gili T without swimming shoes — your feet will thank you. East Side of the Island (in front of Laguna Gili Beach Resort) Hands down the best spot for swimming and turtle spotting 🐢 The sand is soft and comfortable to walk on — no swimming shoes needed here. Rent a bike for 24 hours (around Rp50,000) and explore the island at your own pace. The full loop is about 8 km — take your time, stop for a drink, chat with locals, swim with turtles, and just enjoy the island vibes🏝️
A beautiful island with great diving opportunities, but unfortunately it's all very commercialized. Unfortunately, there are a lot of electric scooters driving around here now, and some of them are going very fast. You really have to be afraid of getting run over because you can't hear them.
Beautiful Island with Breathtaking Waters – But Know What to Expect Gili Trawangan is undeniably beautiful — crystal-clear waters, white sand, and stunning sunsets. It’s a fun island with a great energy, but it’s very geared toward tourism, which takes away a bit of its original charm. There’s a big backpacker and party crowd, mostly younger travelers, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying it as a family. It’s still very family-friendly if you stay in the quieter areas away from the port. We highly recommend booking a private boat for a smoother and more comfortable arrival. Once there, rent bikes and cycle around the island — it’s a lovely way to explore. Also, make sure to visit the nearby Gili islands for a day trip — they’re perfect for beach clubs, snorkeling, and a more laid-back vibe. Gili T is what you make of it — full of life, beauty, and adventure if you plan it right!
Beautiful island with scenic beaches and hotels. I loved it there. The only thing that really bothered me was the way poor working horses are treated - pulling wagons all day in the heat, with no water and food. Left standing at the sun. It's heartbreaking and animal cruelty. Local government must ban it and take care of the poor horses! It's 2025, there is no excuse to use horses!

Don't waist you time there to look for a swing nearby the harbour. You will find only one there, but the really nice one is exactly on the other side of the isle take the short cut or a 'taxi', the nice hotels are also on the other side of the Isle - beautiful sunset, very good customer service. They played some movies in the evening.
Someone told me they moved the turtle hatchery somewhere else post earthquake. Could even see some wreckages. Still a very nice beach regardless. Remind me of what most beaches in Bali used to be.
Gili island is all about nature. Go snorkeling for around 150-200k IDR inclusive of food. It's really worth every single penny. They will take u to 🐢 turtle Point, Super Statues, Gili Air followed by lunch. I personally suggest you to of public snorkeling rather then the private one.
We took a day tour for visiting all three islands of Gili. I must say it was worth it. The guide was really fantastic. One of my friends didn't know swimming so he took my friend with him to ensure that he saw the turtle and the statues and the fishes. Totally, totally loved this place.
Nice island. Recomend! Spent there 3 nights with family.
Im sure they are treated very well but seems like a bit too much of a tourist attraction really which is unfortunate
Clear water, Fresh Air, Great Vibe, It's always great to come and enjoy Gili Trawangan
Good bar/lounge, great rocky beach not for swimmers, but snorkeling

Thank you to all the brothers who help and care for me in visiting this legendary mosque. thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will remember this day for the rest of my life. Friday prayer and endless love from each person. TERIMAKASIH BANYAK SEMUANYA
I feel like they have turned the volume right up yet again. I actually live quite a distance from this mosque, yet every morning I am woken up by the call to prayer. I do respect religion however you could turn it down slightly. I am half deaf and when I pass you mosque I still have to cover my ears for potential damage to my good ear.
People complaining about the call to prayer should do some research before traveling to the biggest muslim country by population. It’s like traveling to the vatican and complaining about the church. If you find the call to prayer annoying then don’t come. It’s easy.
Mosque on the island with loudspeakers in the tower through which the prayers are broadcast over the public address system and spread throughout the island. They are usually played five times a day (at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, dusk and night). I disagree with the complaints that have been published, one as a visitor should inform oneself and respect the local customs.
find it absurd to read negative comments about the mosque in Gili Trawangan. Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, so it’s perfectly normal to hear the call to prayer even at 4 a.m. Complaining about this is like going to Italy and being upset about church bells, or visiting India and being offended by temple mantras. It’s part of the local culture, deeply tied to religion, and exactly what makes travel authentic. If someone isn’t willing to accept the traditions of the country hosting them, perhaps they should reconsider their choice of destination.
I don’t understand the reviews saying that the call to prayer is too loud and that they can’t sleep. Sorry guys if it bothers you looool are you serious? You’re on a Muslim island please show some respect for the local life, the local people, and their religion. You love coming here to enjoy the low prices and the beautiful landscapes, but if you’re not happy, then simply don’t come. A little respect, please.
Its really annoying that you Muezzin have to 'sing' at loud everytime. I think that the religion prospective must change for respect of everyone. I you want to pray, you can do it anytime but without disturbing anyone. At least not at 4 am!!!.
This mosque is not respecting the legally established noise-level limits in Indonesia, which is 100 dB. Islam is a religion of love, but the noise level from this mosque is extremely aggressive. I respect traditions, but the traditional way is to sing without using loudspeakers.
