Our CLASSROOM today.... The only underground cemetery in the country 📍 Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery Bambang, Nagcarlan, Laguna National Historical Landmark and Museum It was built in 1845 under the supervision of Franciscan priest, Fr. Vicente Velloc as a public burial site and its underground crypt exclusively for Spanish friars, prominent town citizens and members of elite Catholic families. During the Philippine Revolution, the cemetery served as a meeting place of revolutionary leaders of the Katipunan in 1896. Pedro Paterno and Gen. Severino Taiño of the "Maluningning" command held a meeting at the cemetery where they planned the historic Pact of Biak-na-Bato in 1897. It also served as hideout for Filipino leaders during the Philippine–American War and of guerillas in World War II. The Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery was declared as a National Historical Landmark by virtue of Presidential Decree no. 260, date August 1, 1973 with amendments by Administrative Order 1505, dated June 11, 1978. Since the declaration, no more burials were allowed in the cemetery. It underwent renovations before it was again opened to the public during the unveiling of the marker on October 24, 1981. The oldest tomb is dated 1886 while the last interment was in 1982 when it was formally declared as a National Historical Landmark #natureisourcurriculum #homeschoollife #learningtogetherasafamily #learnedexperienceisthebestteacher #anywhereandeverywherewithjesus #kindergartenclassroom #KwentoNiKali #WindsorHillsAcademy #homeschoollookslikethis
My former visit since I was in 4th year high school was 2002 about the Underground Cemetery of unknown heroes in Nagcarlan. This crypt is temporarily closed as of my revisit on March 21, 2025, due to renovation.
Very easy to find as it is located along the main road. No parking slot available but most tourists leave their cars across the street specially if they won't be long in taking pictures. Bring your umbrella or hat to protect your eyes and skin from the sun. Not so much to see. Just plain tombs placed on top of another.
I went there, but somehow it's still under renovation. I just took a picture at the side of the walls. Will be back here once opened.
The feels about this cemetery are nostalgic, serene, and creepy, but in a good way. Tombs there were not updated anymore, as the last entry were in 1960s, more than half a decade ago. But the place was well-maintained, which makes it more than worth it to visit. Two ways you can commute: from Santa Cruz City, Laguna or from San Pablo, Laguna. For the former, just be on the Pedro Guevarra St. in Santa Cruz, where the fastfood chains lie, jeeps there bound to Nagcarlan should pass there. For the latter, you can ride a jeep in the San Pablo Fire Station, where jeeps there bound to Nagcarlan-Liliw should be accessible.
Today is September 23, 2025 It is closed for renovations, but as usual in the Philippines they are not able to organize themselves and do not give notice.
Historical place, ancient, and full of great stories. This lovely place is for people who likes to listen, feel and live with the past and how people has interacted from one another and live.
Surreal place, will take you back in time. The surrounding, wall cemetery is more impressive than the small, underground main attraction. Good to explore and experience once. Limited parking but visitors were scarce when we went during a holiday. Very good place for photos.

Went here for a Christening event . The place is good. The structure of old catholic churches really amaze me. It's full or historical figures. The only problem here is the parking space is limited. And going to this place is a bit hard if your new to the location since there are alot of roads that are one way, which is typical to old towns in laguna and quezon
If you love old buildings and churches then you should visit San Bartolome Parish Church in Nagcarlan, Laguna. This church is one if not the oldest church in the province of Laguna. Parking is not a problem since there's a lot of available parking space in front of the church. You just have to pay a parking fee of P 20.00. The people who manage the church are friendly. Will definitely go here again and attend Mass.
CHURCH OF NAGCARLANG THE FIRST CHURCH WHICH WAS OF LIGHT MATERIALS, WAS BUILT BY REV. TOMAS DE MIRANDA, 0. F. M., WHO WAS ASSIGNED TO THIS TOWN IN 1583 AS RESIDENT PRIEST THE SECOND CHURCH OF BRICK AND STONE, WAS BUILT IN 1752 BUT WAS PARTLY DES- TROYED BY FIRE IN 1781 A CHOIRLOFT WAS ADDED TO THE RECONSTRUCTED CHURCH IN 1845 BY REV. VICENTE VELLOC, WHO BUILT THE NAGCARLANG CEMETERY AND ITS UNDERGROUND CRYPT REV TOMAS DE MIRANDA WAS PIONEER IN THE SUCCESSFUL CULTIVATION OF WHEAT IN THE UPLANDS OF NACCARLANG.
The altar is beautiful. The congregation was particpative. It's ok to visit the Church on ordinary days. On a Sunday, you'll get caught up with parking and traffic jams problem.
Beautiful and relaxing place
I so love this place 😍 One of the oldest and historical churches in Laguna. 1st built San Bartolome de Apostol Church in the Philippines. Feast Day is August 24.
Nice historical church for the town. Just the local folks do not know the importance of preserving. The place is so dirty.
Church is well preserved. They have parking area at 20 pesos.

The water was cold and refreshing. 10 minutes away from the road. Some places for sitting and keep your things but take care of the ants bites. So far the place is nice and beautiful. But sorry to see garbage which not cleaned from the visitors
We were the only visitors when we arrived. No guides were there and the cottages seems like they weren't used for some time. Pretty peaceful but we chose not to swim.
The place is good for family bonding especially this summer. The water is cold and refreshing. You can bring foods there. The cottage are free to use. But make sure you have a pocket money because there is environmental fee of 30 pesos per pack and another fee for parking.
The falls is ten minutes from the road upon going to the falls. It may take twice the time going back to the road since going up.
Nature lovers this place is suited to your beautiful soul. The twin falls is the main attraction here. The chirping of the birds, , the scent of the greens and the bamboos, the calm and peaceful place.. is pretty relaxing! Locals are now starting building cottages. No bathroom yet, understandable! Entrance fee is 30 pesos per person. Parking for motorcycle is 20 pesos, tricycle for 25 pesos. Cars for 65 pesos. Weekends are normaly busy. Bunga falls is at Brgy Bunga Nagcarlan Laguna. The twin falls is instagramable😍😍😍😊😊😊 come and go south!
Bunga Falls in Nagcarlan is a fairly known swimming spot which is fed by the Santa Cruz river. Locals and out of towners flock to the waterfalls and shacks provide shelter for those who want to have a picnic. There is a trail that leads to the falls and there is usually an entrance fee imposed prior to entering the premises.
Fun experience to swim at. It's my first time to swim under a natural waterfall so I had to get used to the rocky, uneven bottom of the water. I also need to be careful as to not slip on the rocks outside the water, including the makeshift rock stairs leading down the falls. We paid the people that helped, but it's very cheap (about a dollar). Thankfully, there are life vests.
Maganda ang View , although water is not so clear because of the rain but most of the time we enjoy so much staying , They have Lifeguards , salbabida , and life vest to ensure the life of their guest.
