I visited this course to evaluate for my Leadingcourses profile. Last time I was there was exactly 10 years ago. I say it upfront no need to read whole, I recommend this place, good price/value ratio. Not much change only the trees grow longer and course is more mature. Parking and training area few steps from clubhouse, so perfect. Clubhouse is just average building nothing spectacular, but it has all what golfer need, from clean toilets through good showers to good reception with friendly receptionist to good restaurant with great service. We quickly checked in and went to 1st tee. Front nine starts next to driving range and line up around it. Honestly saying first three holes are not the holes you came for. They are dry and not spectacular. However if you will be patient next holes will reward you and it start with hole number 4, with shot over the water to uphill fairway. After this hole, the real Franzensbad golf gems will pop up. Prepare yourself for technical and long shots. Especially par 3 there, are not easy, all over 150m long, quite challenging, quite similar to German style courses. Front nine is finishing with uphill par 3 hard to score. Back nine starts with long par 3 over the water around 185m. After this hole you should refresh at halfway house well maintained with cold beer. I want to highlight stretch of holes from 12 to 17th. Keep your A-game for end of the round, you will need it. Signature hole for me is par 5 hole number 16th, beautiful hole requiring strategy thinking. We finish strongly shot +1 on front nine and +13 on back nine :D. So 86 is not bad at all there. What I would highlight is hospitality there, everyone super friendly, lowlight is that some fairways and around greens it was a bit dry, but understand the reason weather takes the tax. We finish strong with lunch in restaurant and chat with staff, we will come back for sure.

Hrál jsem zde po dlouhé době a tohle hřiště mě vážně baví! V letošní sezóně, tak jako ostatně na spoustě dalších hřišť, se na hracích plochách dosti podepsaly vysoké teploty a nedostatek vody. A to i přes obrovské nasazení a snahu údržby, za což si celý team zaslouží DÍKY! Jako plus mohu hodnotit velice vstřícný přístup recepce. Pokud to nestihnu ještě letos, příští sezonu určitě Hazlov zařadím na můj seznam MUST PLAY!
