Love this place ❤️ Secluded, quiet, and beautiful. We went via Mauban Port (not sure if there are other routes), it is a 45-minute boat ride. The waves are strong. If you want to disconnect with the city life, this place is for you. Beach is amazing. It's white sand beach. On the main island, the sand is fine (not Boracay fine but fine). But on the sandbar, the sand was finer. On your Island Hopping: - bakawan forest for photos - snorkeling - sandbar Please note: • Electricity is only available from 7 pm to 7 am • There is no wifi. • Bring Cash • The market is located at the Mauban Port, so buy and bring the things that you need before boarding the boat. At the place where we stayed (Doña Choleng), there's an option to have your food cooked; There's a sari-sari store, so you have options.
I really love this Island. White sands, star fish, beautiful sunrise and sunset, great corals and fishes for snorkeling. The place is for those who loves to partially disconnect on the city. It's only a 4 hours drive including the boat ride from the metro. All resorts are recommendable. Please be advised that electricity is only available between 6pm to 6am. Also, for the first timers, you'll need to secure bookings first for you to be able to ride a public boat on the Mauban port for registration.
Cagbalete has some of the better beaches out there in the Philippines from my point of view. +White and fine sand +Very affordable +Not crowded +The locals are very kind +Easy to get to as long as you don't mind the 40-minute boat ride +Sand bar -Weak mobile phone service
Went here without the best plans - just a quick glance through the reviews and dos and don'ts. My mistake. I should've planned better because you won't be able to take full pleasure of the island and it's beauties without preparation. Bring food with you, or at least a big budget to buy prepared food from the island. Otherwise, you'll be eating canned foods the entire time. Rest well before coming here. If you'll arrive in the morning at around 11am, you'll see that the beach is almost dried up. You're going to want to take a lot of pictures of this beauty by then and explore the rest of the island after. Pick the best resort for you. There are a lot of options here that offer rooms, or if you prefer pick one that has the best deal for tent pitching. I'll definitely be back! 🏝👏😇
This is one of the best secluded, virgin island I have ever been in the Philippines. It was like we rented the entire island just for us. There was almost zero tourist when we visited Cagbalete. Never rain, sun was shinny and the ocean was calm. From the sand, beach, food, and locals, this amazing place is heaven. Went here for a 4 nights trip with my wife. We didn't ate in our resort, what we did was asked local fisherman to cook for us and dine together at their house with their family. The feeling was amazing. Their local adobong pusit, and fish something was super delicious. Would highly recommend doing the same as it also helps local people in getting up from their feet.
Resorts and fine beaches. Effects of low tide is obvious on some beaches. Friendly local government. Follow rules especially with your trash; keep the island clean as always :) white sand beaches are present here. Careful though, lots of corals and stones around when taking a swim.
What's amazing about this island is that the locals is too nice! Food is completely awesome and you need to feast your eyes with the scenery. I would like to point out the Sun Rise and Sun Sets were stunning. Go for snorkeling if possible.
A beautiful island that is near Manila. One can simply go on a day tour in this island but it is highly suggested that you stay overnight. Overnight stay here is affordable. Make sure that you call in during the peak season though.

Great location nestled in lots of tall trees. They have rooms or you can bring a tent or hammock and camp out.
We met their coordinator in Mauban Port around 7 am, it was smooth and I expected that it will the same when we get there. Upon arrival - it was a disaster. They looked for the deposit slip paper (which i forgot) - asked us why did I deposited the fee to their coordinator - ( which they said we shouldn't have) and they won't let us settle in without transferring the photo of the slip to their unit. Then - the rooms... As much as I want to show photos as proof, I won't be able to because their very short hallway leading to the 3 bedrooms and the comfort room inside the main house is very dark. My sister and niece bumped their head on their way to bedroom 3. Electricity runs 6 pm to 6 am only and the resort did not provide lighting for the hallway. WORST - if you will use the toilet and bathroom inside the main house on DAYTIME, YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN FLASHLIGHT. Funny right? Trust me, if you have kids, it is so uncomfortable. ALANGAN NAMAN NA BUBUKSAN MO ANG PINTO NG KWARTO PARA LANG MAKITA MO ANG DADAANAN MO? They only have 1 toilet and bath for the main house guests which would count as much as 20 person. Hahaha When you knock on bedroom 2, the person inside the CR would think that you are bullying him to finish his business and leave the bathroom asap. By the way, the photo in this google map is not aguho playa... Take note : AGUHO PLAYA IS BETWEEN THE TENT PLACE RESORT AND JOVEN'S BEACH RESORT. If tent pitching is your ideal vacation accommodation, it is a good place. But if you opt to a private room or cottage, you will get disappointed.
Reclusive and much more quiet if you want to relax.
(Translated by Google) Very disappointed, 4-10 persons is 3,500 but rooms are very tiny, it's like a small box, and it would be ok if it was made of bamboo, but it's not good, there's not even a hook for towels. The surroundings are dirty. It's not recommended. They should at least improve the facilities because the facilities are old. Aside from accommodation fee, there is an entrance fee of 100 pesos per head., which is not a good idea at all. (Original) Very disappointed , 4-10 persons is 3,500 but rooms are very tiny , parang maliit na box lang, at ok lang sana kung made of kawayan kaso di la maayos wala man lang sabitan kahit pako para sa mga towels. Madumi ang paligid. It's not recommendable. They should improve man lang ang facilities kasi ang luma na. Aside from accomdodation fee may entrance fee 100 pesos per head., which is not a good idea sa lahat.
(Translated by Google) Literally a hidden beach :) very nice place, you won't get hot because there are many trees. Nice place. (Original) Literal na hidden beach :) very nice place, hindi ka miinitan kasi maraming puno. Ganda ng place.
