What a cool park. You pay an entrance fee, and you have 2 choices to go to the bottom of the falls, walk all the way around the park, over the suspension bridge down this cool set of 478 stairs down to the bottom incredible views all the way through or option number 2. Take the cable car down to see the bottom of the falls. And take the cable car back recommended for people who do not have good mobility. We chose to walk over the bridge and down the stairs to the bottom of the falls, where we saw a rainbow, which was super cool and then took the cable car back up. We saw a lot of people trying to walk back up the stairs. And were heavily winded, so we decided to take the cable car up either way. It's a great day, incredible views front on top of the bridge from the bottom of the right. The falls you can even walk down all the way to the water. Super cool, highly recommended. We will return.
I visited this place in September, a rainy day & public holiday. Paid parking (all day parking). If you pay entry fee, you can visit the falls, boardwalk & long stairs to the top. The boardwalk is very long, atleast 30min walk to the bottom of the falls. Stroller, dogs are allowed on the boardwalk. Has a playground & benches. Kid friendly, dog friendly. Foods are allowed inside. If you want to ride the gondola ,you have to buy another ticket for the ride. You can ride both up & down multiple time for whole day with single gondola ride payment. At the top, there's a party house ,available to rent for private occasion which was under renovation in September; a vegetable garden & a bridge on the falls. You can watch the whole area from the top. It's a must visiting place for tourists in Quebec City. You can spend your whole day with family & friends there. However ,the gift shop isn't enriched with various souvenirs. Many people visit the place, number of washroom is limited. Overall, nice place.
Amazing! You can find free parking on top of the waterfall. Please take a walk on the river ahead of it....are somme amazing million years old rocks on the river. The waterfall make you feel energized and amazed ( the stairs have 480 steps so....maybe a little tire after). Check the Citadel and the downtown as well. A lot of activity and fun! It is an amazing town! Love it!
We went here November, the stairs up to the falls is CLOSED. We walked near the falls then proceeded on going up to the bridge in our car. We parked at the nearby Mcdonalds. Still a good experience! No entry and parking fees during winter.
Absolutely breathtaking! Montmorency Falls is a must-visit if you’re in Québec City — taller than Niagara Falls and just a 15-minute drive from downtown. The suspension bridge offers stunning panoramic views, and you can really feel the power of the falls up close. There are multiple ways to experience it — by taking the cable car, hiking the stairways, or viewing it from the bridge above. The trails are well maintained and perfect for a short scenic walk. If you visit in fall, the colors make the landscape even more magical. Parking is around $12, and you can easily spend 1–2 hours here exploring and taking photos. Definitely worth the stop — especially for photographers and nature lovers!
The waterfall is really beautiful, but the view is a bit spoiled by the bridge and zipline. I wish it looked more natural. The suspension bridge isn’t really “suspending” it doesn’t move at all, it’s very solid. Overall, it was still a nice experience and definitely worth visiting once!
This is a really great attraction spot! There’s a park, trail, falls and a suspension bridge. You can buy tickets for a lift if you don’t want to take the stairs, beautiful viewpoints along the way up.
Spent about 4 hours here today. Beautiful and peaceful. Lots of great photo spots. Ride the cable car. Walk the stairs. Check all the paths and views. Wonderful way to spend a morning in nature.

Great History! A must visit place. The place itself is so beautifully preserved and maintained. The paid tour is so informative and the tour guide did a great job and answered all questions. The guards change is a masterpiece to watch and enjoy their band music.Got to see the great views of st Lawrence river!
Must seen. Amazing historical site. Its an active military zone so you will need to go with a tour guide. Tours are available both in french and English for one hour. We took the English tour. The tour guy, Oliver, was funny and friendly. He guided us through several buildings, provided info and let us took loads of photos and videos. Highly recommended
Must visit place while in the Quebec area. Historic 19th-century fortress still in active military use. Home of the Royal 22 Regiment. Guided tours are highly recommended and praised for being informative and engaging (tour guides are very informative). Changing of the Guard ceremony is a must see. Panoramic views of Québec City and the St. Lawrence River from the top Pros: Great guided tours, Scenic location Cons: Limited self-guided access and tickets may run out very quickly, vehicle parking can be tricky due to the narrow roads and limited space Highly recommend visitors to book tours ahead and wear comfortable shoes. ( note that the tour is offered in French and English)
A very well worth experience to visit the Citadel of Quebec . Book tickets in advance for the tour . We did the English speaking tour and it was very well paced and informative . Our guide explained every stop on the tour with details and answered all our questions. The tour lasts approximately one hour and makes stops along the various buildings and places of the Citadel. Breathtaking views of Quebec City despite being a cloudy fall day . Make sure you end your tour at the well maintained and highly educational museum indoors . It covers a historical span of the 22 regiment throughout the years up until recent times.
Great place to visit for a quick guided tour which is an hour long. It’s a historical place and still an active military site. Has some good views of the Fairmont Hotel and the river. It’s about $22 to visit. The change of the guards only happens between may/june and September.
Really nice place to visit. The staff are friendly and very informative. They explain everything clearly and are happy to answer questions. The guards were interesting to watch and made the visit more engaging. The museum has some recent military items too, not just old history, which was a nice surprise. Worth checking out if you are in Quebec City.
Very interesting one-hour tour. Great history lesson, with gorgeous views from an elevated position. Definitely recommend!
Interesting buildings, changing of the guards was neat to see, there's a canon fired off at noon, and some neat exhibits, you do need a guide and can't explore by yourself as it's still an active base. Our guide was very good but the tour itself is a bit short as there's several going on at the same time, more time to explore would have been nice.

My daughter and I spent 3 nights here over the long May weekend. This hotel is a very affordable option for those who appreciate a historical building in the most prime location with a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence. We booked a balcony room which was furnished with lovely antiques. Unfortunately we didn't have any balcony weather, but it was still useful to be able to open the door to check on the weather! We didn't bring a car, so it was great to be within 15 minutes walk of everything we wanted to do. Postcard pictures everywhere you look! Loads of dining options, shops and art galleries close at hand. Check in was easy, and staff was friendly and welcoming. If you expect chain hotel amenities, you should book elsewhere, as you may not like the rooms with character, no elevator and minimal soundproofing. But we wanted to experience that Old Quebec City vibe, and it was perfect for us. Lots of towels, a mini fridge, microwave and basket full of snacks on arrival. I will definitely recommend to friends.
My family of 5 had an absolute lovely stay at the hotel. Perfect location and short stroll to all the city sites. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. They kept our room stocked with coffee, snacks and clean linens daily. Everything was just wonderful.
I feel I need to justify my rating of 4.5 by noting that for the class of the hotel, the hotel Terrasse Dufferin is very good, and we would happily stay there again. Comparing it to hotels of all classes, it would be about a 3 -- mostly because it could use some updating. The building is more than 200 years old, and very charming, so it is to be expected that it won't be modern with the latest and greatest. I suspect how happy you are with it depends on the room you get and how recently it was updated. Being at this hotel felt to me like staying in a friend's guestroom -- in a good way. Our room was nice, comfortable and spotless. The mattresses were of good quality and newer. The portable AC was a bit awkward, and we had to guess at some of the controls. The bathroom fixtures definitely need replacing soon but were in perfect working order, and a towel bar there would be welcome. The staff were excellent and very helpful about what to do and where to eat. Parking is available for a fee. And can we please talk about location? A charming storied hotel wth an affordable view of the river, more or less next to the famous hotel Frontenac on one side and the toboggan run on the other, just outside of the terrace Dufferin, and in the heart of old town can't be beat.
Perfect little hotel on the edge of everything! Just steps outside of the Chateau Frontenac, this quaint little gem is a trip through time. The building is old but well kept. The rooms are small (Ours was) but very cozy, updated and clean. The staff was super friendly and fantastic and spoke their best English when they heard my horrible French🤣. The room had a portable fridge, air conditioner and a small, but snuggly bed. Parking is available for a small fee. Everything Quebec City has to offer is just steps away (Literally! Be prepared to climb some stairs in Quebec!! The city is built on a hill) If you are looking for a cute, little French house, with a perfect view of the St. Lawrence River, this is ideal! If you are looking for a big hotel with elevators, lounges and upscale amenities, maybe not for you. Also, not for disabled travelers due to the flights of stairs. Well worth the money! Will definitely stay again when I am in QC.
The location is amazing, right in the heart of Old Quebec. The staff is also outstanding, great communication and super helpful during our stay. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the hotel due to its cleanliness. We stayed on the third floor and there was a serious ant problem. There were small ants all over the room and even about 15-20 on our toothbrushes in the morning. I advised the staff upon leaving and seriously hope that the management team looks into resolving this issue as otherwise the hotel is great.
Perfect location. Rooms with balconies overlooking the boardwalk and right next to the Frontenac hotel. The staff is incredible! Amelie was extremely helpful and even gave us tickets to the music festival. The rooms are very clean but small. Decor could use updating. I’d definitely stay again!!!
I stayed for two nights in an inner room. The room was spacious, but it seemed like the signs of age were unavoidable. Nevertheless, the friendly staff, the parking space, and the prime location for traveling in Old Quebec were all so good! Especially for Koreans who have memories of the drama "Goblin" (Dokkaebi), I think this would be the best accommodation.
A Charming Home Away from Home in the Heart of Old Quebec I stayed at Hôtel Terrasse Dufferin for two nights, and from beginning to end, everything about the experience was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Quebec City. The hotel has a warm, boutique feel—like a European-style family home where you have your own private space but still feel incredibly welcome. The rooms are not overly spacious, but they're very comfortable, clean, and charmingly decorated with enough space to move around easily. It felt cozy and chic, with an unbeatable view that added so much to the experience. The location couldn’t be better—right in the center of everything and easily walkable to all the main attractions in Old Quebec. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival, which really set the tone for the rest of our stay. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist without being intrusive. The hotel also has lovely lounging areas and offers thoughtful complimentary touches like snacks and coffee in the room, refreshed daily. The bathroom was spotless, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. I didn’t use the TV, but it was there for those who want it. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, and the room stayed perfectly quiet at night once the windows were closed. It’s a great spot for solo travelers, couples, families, or anyone looking to soak in the charm of Quebec City in a peaceful, beautiful setting. And for the price, it’s absolutely worth it.

July 2025. Beautiful cathedral. Uniquely decorated altar (that I've seen). We were sad to see that the holy door wasn't open.
It’s a beautiful cathedral, but if you’ve visited some of the grand cathedrals in Europe, it might not feel as impressive in comparison. That said, it’s still a must-visit when you’re in Montréal. Tickets are $16, which feels a bit pricey. The square in front of the cathedral is especially charming in the evening, often filled with live music and street performers. It’s a lively and memorable spot to soak in the city’s vibe.
Visiting the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral in Old Quebec City was one of the most peaceful and inspiring experiences of our trip. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by an overwhelming sense of history, faith, and beauty. The architecture is breathtaking — every detail, from the ornate gold altar to the intricate stained-glass windows, tells a story of centuries past. It’s incredible to think that this is one of the oldest cathedrals in North America, and yet it has been so beautifully preserved. The quiet reverence inside contrasts perfectly with the lively charm of Old Quebec just outside, making it a wonderful spot for reflection and calm.
My husband and I didn't think we would see a church in North America that would rival those in the United Kingdom. This Bassilica is awesome inspiring and spiritual. We highly recommend that you stop in.
Beautiful church. We parked nearby. Near everything in old quebec. Had small chapels, a bit of history and a Holy Door. I was a bit disappointed with tye door being closed. We came from Toronto after seeing someone post a photo of the door open. But the person at the gift shop said it isn't open despite being the Jubilee. But the church was clean, Beautiful stain glass windows, amazing architecture, definitely pop in if you can.
The Notre Dame of Quebec City is an Ornate and historic Basilica with a majestic altar covered in gold. The tomb of Francois de Laval is located here and a museum dedicated to his mission is located in the back part of the Basilica . Worth stepping in and spending some time inside .
This is a beautiful church with a lot of history. When you enter, you sense the centuries of prayer that have occurred there. The sanctuary evokes a spirituality that makes you want to linger. We also visited the crypt where bishops and archbishops from the founding of the church were buried. The guide mentioned that there are over 900 people are interned in the crypt.
Construction Scaffolding on the exterior. The inside was gorgeous and majestic like nothing I've ever seen. No entry fee, only 10 or so other people present. Quiet and reverential. Such beautiful statuary, ornamentation, stained glass windows. Very moving. They ask for $2 or $5 to light a candle, the cost to replace the candle.

It was very interesting and beautiful. We enjoyed walking along the path and the wooden stairs going around and watching the amazing scenery. Spending some quiet and relaxing time at the plains was very nice and freshening for both us and our little doggie too. The plains were perfect for some wide-angle photo shooting too.
Currently a breathtaking exhibit on the first floor that is the conclusion to the museum. Be wary of the video on the top floor if you get motion sickness for videos easily. SKIP VIDEO IF epileptic. I did not see any warnings ahead of time. Other exhibits were interesting but short. The headset and Ipad accompanying the first floor exhibit, hosted an animated main video was not my favorite. I would recommend watching the artist video within each section and reading about the more details tab. Staff was friendly. Great for kids 7 and older.
We had an amazing time at the Plains of Abraham! The museum visit was enlightening, and the bus tour was a great way to explore the area. The scenery and lush green spaces were breathtaking. We enjoyed lunch together as a family at the picnic tables, soaking in the fresh air. It was wonderful to learn about the citadel, towers, and rich history of the place. The museum and bus rides were interactive, making it a fun experience for the kids. We were thrilled to share this historic spot with my parents, who were visiting from India, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely one of the best spots to visit!
A great starting point before exploring the Plains! The Plains of Abraham Museum offers a fascinating look into one of Canada’s most important historical battles. The exhibits are interactive, well-designed, and do a great job explaining the 1759 Battle of Québec and its impact on Canadian history. The multimedia presentations and scale models make it engaging for both adults and kids. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the museum is clean and easy to navigate. It’s located right next to the park, so it’s worth visiting before you walk through the actual Plains — it really helps you appreciate the historical significance of the area. Entry is reasonably priced, and you can easily spend about an hour here.
The 30 minute video was well done. The exhibits were interactive and well done. Good family time.
Great experience. Wasn't crowded. You're able to touch some of the exhibits. Uniforms, weapons, and more. Great to learn the history.
Mixed feelings about this museum. Not a lot of artifacts, but some good amateur historians to help you understand the events. Not a necessary stop along your way fir the price.
We dropped by only because of the rainy weather, but it was a great decision. This museum has abundant contents and resources. We had a meaningful experience. It must be fun to come with friends and family too. You'll learn and also play around the contents.

Amazing service, amazing food. We waited around 40 minutes for a table of 3, but it was worth it. Our waiter was so kind and funny - definitely made our experience better. We ordered 2 appetizers. Shrimp tempura and cream of snail. The shrimp was perfectly crispy and the snails were great with the provided bread. The 3 main courses we got were fish and chips, steak and fries, and mushroom ravioli. The fish and chips were also crispy and the fries were delicious. The steak was average, but very juicy, nothing too special there. If you love mushrooms, definitely get the mushroom ravioli. We ended the night with the maple syrup cake. It was warm and melted in the mouth. If you’re ever in the area, you have to check out this bistro. I would recommend getting a reservation beforehand if you don’t want to wait.
We travel a good amount, and typically avoid "tourist areas" because the patrons are essentially "captured" due to proximity. This is especially true for cruise ship ports. We were pleasantly surprised by this Bistro. Staff was friendly, the service good, and the food above average. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying themselves, which also helps. I had the fish and chips, an easy favorite. The fish was thick enough (about 1.25") to be flaky inside, crusty outside, with a tasty tartar sauce. Fries were similarly crispy. My wife had the French onion soup with garlic bread, both quite well executed.
Amazing! The food was great and the waiter (I didn't get his name) was superb! He energetically interacted with every table and was just an overall great waiter. The place is nice and cute with great food. I enjoyed what I had, which was the snail stew for an appetizer and the duck for my main. I washed it down with the sangria. All were good. I would recommend this restaurant if you're ever in Old Quebec City.
Located in the picturesque, quaint district of Petit Champlain, you can take a stroll before or after enjoying a delicious meal here. Bistro Sous le Fort is an amazing little restaurant that just exudes the warmth and goodness of mom's kitchen with its homey charm. We started out with some buttery snail stew. Lusciously good. For our main dishes, we ordered the sweetbreads; of which I've never had and was curious, but still a little wary. It was remarkable!! Beautifully prepared with the most delightful gravy I've ever had. We also ordered the duck confit dish and it was delightful too. The food was well paced. The service was great. This is a must if you're ever in Old Quebec City.
Great food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. The food is delicious, and well worth the price with a variety of options. I opted to have to appetizers for dinner and my husband had the duck and elk meal and we finished every bite. This is a busy spot so a reservation is recommended.
Best food ! Lovely host, great location and great ambience. No second thoughts. French onion soup and wild boar spring roll for the appetizer. Mushroom ravioli and deer for main course. Every single dish tasted so so good
Worth the wait! Best salmon dish I've ever had - thanks to the host for recommending it vs the steak. My daughter had the warmed chicken salad and loved it - said the chicken was so tender it just broke off with her fork. My other daughter really enjoyed her elk burger and my wife loved the quiche. All that was topped off with a melt in your mouth chocolate cake dessert. We're planning to go again!
So good we came back twice! We enjoyed the laid back and romantic atmosphere and Melodie was the best waitress we could have hoped for! Their chef prepares your food to perfection. We had the French onion soup, red deer burger and tasty sangrias at one meal and we loved the deer medallion in blueberry sauce and duck confit with elk sausage at another. You want to save room for their maple cake! Unreal! Merci!

Amazing experience! There was a free show for kids! Loved it! Titanic exhibit was so worth it and must watch. It’s for a very limited time. “ This is our story” exhibit about the Indigenous people was good and sad at the same time. There was another exhibit on one of the refugees which was deeply moving & made me grateful and appreciative of what I have, which we forget at times. This is #1 museum of all museums that I have visited. There’s a free guided tour in English and French for some of the exhibits. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The personal audio guide is a great way of going through some of the exhibits and helps in really feeling and understanding the work. I loved my experience in this museum. My 9 year old loved it too. Totally recommend a visit to this museum!
The Titanic exhibition was on here. Very interesting exhibit with personal headphones for the audio. In addition to science exhibits they have one on Quebec's history and another one on the indigenous Peoples of Quebec. Boutiques and restaurants inside plus seating for eating. Great for kids.
We came here in April 2025 and my 8 year old loved it as did we. I was a little bummed out that the wrestling exhibit had ended up the inventions part was very cool and unique. We also loved the history of Quebec part and all the animals. There's also a pretty epic gift shop on the premise in a awesome historical building. Definitely check this museum out if you're in Quebec City. 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
An amazing place to visit! So different than other museums, yet so interesting! In “This is our story” section, it manages to communicate what is a Quebec resident: un Quebecois! A story of diversity, solidarity, a moving experience! Despite its small size, it seems huge. It a real experience!
I went to see the Titanic exhibit. Very well done and so interesting. The had letters from people who received after the ship sank. They has some relics had been salvaged. Also full recreations of state rooms. I was there 2 hrs just for that. Wandered alittles after , a very good museum I thoroughly enjoyed. plus I am partially disabled and entry was free.
I wanted to buy tickets online, but this place is free to Quebec residents on the first sunday of the month so I had to buy on site. The wait was quite long - around 15 minutes. However, this museum is phenomenal! I bought the ticket that included the titanic exhibit (temporary exhibit) and wow, it was so worth it! I spent like 1.5 hours in there! The Crowd exhibit was also worth it! Very interesting take on crowds. I didn’t get to see the rest of the exhibits since time was short! I would recommend a whole day here! Tickets were $25 for me! I heard if you bought it online you can get $3 off!
A terrific museum, with excellent exhibition on thought provoking contents, including the history of Quebec, and other temporary exhibitions such as that about Titanic. It was One of the most impressive and enjoyable exhibitions I have ever had.
Amazing Museum, covering history and identity of Quebec and of its native population. The Museum of Civilization was a fun and informative experience!!! I would put this museum at the top of your list while visiting Quebec.

Electric funicular cableway opened in 1879 & rising 195 ft. between the upper & lower towns.

While in Quebec City for vacation, we walked all around looking at the historic sites which are everywhere. In front of the Frontenac Hotel, is the funicular which will take you from upper QC down to lower QC. There is also a long stair climb. Cost about $6 per person. Only holds a few people so a bit tight with all the tourists. But fun and a must do thing!
A fun experience to try at least once . It is a 6$ each way . The ride only takes a few minutes and while the stairs are free , it is worth the ride for the views at night and the experience. It runs until 9pm on weekdays and if you are the last one taking it up at that time of night on a weekday it’s very quiet and enjoyable.
The funiculaire is a quick and easy way to go up to Old Quebec but sometimes there’s a bit of a line, especially when going up. It costs $6 per person and they only accept cash, no cards or digital payments. You don’t get a receipt either. Going down is always free which is nice. It’s a short ride but saves you a steep walk.
Each tram holds 15 people. I know the stairs are free but this is a really fun experience. It's worth it to try it once! When we went it was 6 Canadian. The line can be long when it's busy but it goes pretty quick.
Worth the trip back up the hill to not walk it. The view is also very beautiful. The only thing is the price is kinda hefty for a short distance.
Alternative to taking many stairs... 6 CAD per ride, only accepts casi but there are ATMs at the place. You might wait a few minutes depending on whether there is a line. It wasn't the case for me.
it has terrific view but the ride was too short and it costed 6 per person good but a bit expensive
Not sure if it was really worth the price but did the experience. Ended up walking up the hill the next day

Historic Walking Areas
Picturesque cobblestoned square flanked by cafes, shops & a 17th-century stone church.
Slide 1 of 8
Place Royale is like stepping into a postcard from the past. This historic square is beautifully preserved, with charming cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and rich French colonial architecture. It's where Quebec City began, and you can truly feel the history here. The Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Church adds to the timeless atmosphere. There are lovely little cafés, shops, and street performers around, making it a perfect spot to soak in the local culture. A peaceful and picturesque place you can’t miss when exploring Old Quebec!
Lovely town, many art galleries, restaurants, and tourist items for gifts and such. Decent prices. Good quality, very nice people 😁.
Place Royale is one of the most beautiful and historic spots in Old Quebec City. The cobblestone square, surrounded by well-preserved stone buildings, feels like stepping back in time. Every corner showcases the city’s rich French heritage, from the charming architecture to the detailed façades. The atmosphere is lively yet peaceful, making it the perfect place to walk around, take photos, and soak in the history. It’s a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the true charm and character of Old Quebec.
The birthplace of Québec City and a must-visit historic square! Place Royale is where French America began — beautifully preserved with cobblestone streets, stone buildings, and charming cafés that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s surrounded by quaint shops, local art galleries, and the stunning Église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires right at its heart. Every corner here is picture-perfect, especially in the morning light or during the holiday season when it’s decorated with lights and festive charm. A must-see stop for anyone visiting Old Québec — full of history, culture, and postcard-worthy views.
We took the funicular down to lower QC to look at all the historic sites. Walking around we found the Place Royal with the old church and statue of Louis XIV. Very peaceful area.
A historical and architectural gem. Full of re-construted buildings in the original location of the first settlement in this area. There are restaurants and shops throughout. It was such a lovely place to visit. The Museum of Civilization is nearby.
Place Royale is a charming historic gem in the heart of Old Quebec. Cobblestone streets, beautiful architecture, and a timeless atmosphere make every step feel like a journey back in time. A perfect spot to soak in the city’s heritage and take unforgettable photos.
My favorite place in Quebec City: heritage building, beautiful stores and restaurants. You can feel European vibe there.

Terminal for a 12-minute ferry ride across the Saint Lawrence River between Québec & Lévis.
Slide 1 of 8
If you happen to be in Quebec City, consider taking a ferry ride - it's an enjoyable experience. The terminal is well-maintained and tidy, and the ticket prices are reasonable. The ferry itself is spacious and impeccably clean, with the bonus of an outdoor deck that offers a breathtaking view. Additionally, the captain is highly skilled, and it's impressive to watch them navigate the ferry into the dock. So, don't miss the chance to hop aboard a ferry and take in the sights!
Enjoyed winter landscape. The ticket is cheap and ferries are coming every 30min.
Quebec-Levis ferry is lifeline for many people who commute between both cities. There are two Bridges in the south side but no direct connection in old city. The ferry operated on St. Lawrence River -it is tidal river so flow both way depending on low and high tide. The ferry can carry more than 550 passengers and 55 cars. The frequency is 30 mins and ride is just 10 mins long. You can enjoy nice view from the ferry. Summer time it is quite busy. You can view the both cities from each shore. During winter, you can see ice blocks floating on the rivers. Accessibility score is high as there is gondola to reach ferry and also you can take strollers on top deck.
For many years I have been using the ferry to quickly go between Lévis and Québec City. Fee is pretty cheap for a nice and romantic round trip day and night. Doesn't last long, but works year round and is nice and efficient through almost any form of bad weather. Fare is included if you have a monthly Opus bus card that you paid for the current month.
An inexpensive Ferry ride which allows you a great view of the Quebec City skyline. We got off the Ferry at Levis but quickly re boarded. Would like to have done it at night but didn't get the opportunity.
Best location to see both Quebec city and Levis is on this ferry. Cost less than $4 for an adult, $5 for a driver and a car, why drive? Take the ferry like a local.
Best way to the the hotel Frontenac from the river for only $4 ride. Better then a $65 toured cruise
Tried the roundtrip ride from Quebec to Levis and it was 7.1$. Decent view for the price, and it's usually not that full. However, you honestly don't see too much of the city, and mostly just the fairmont chateau frontenac. Took the ride at sunset, and the distance is actually quite short. I don't think the actual length of the ride is even 15 minutes.

Indoor & outdoor space with roughly 10,000 animals, including fish, marine mammals & amphibians.
Slide 1 of 8
One of the popular go to places in the capitol region, this facility houses polar bears, artic foxes, plenty of fish from sea and lakes, owls, rays, seahorses, jellyfishes. They also have plenty of info and educational session, videos and activities. It took me 2 hours to visit almost all locations, no break, and enjoy some of this beautiful animal, specially the polar bear. Would recommend 2.5 to 3 hours to slow down and read all fun facts. Parking is free in this non-free parking city, so the admission is cost efficient. Highly recommend. Some of my pictures shown, which cant fully justify or show the true beauty.
A reasonably nice aquarium to visit - perhaps more family/child oriented than average. The interior exhibits were pretty good. The polar bear exhibit was more expansive and interesting. The seal enclosures seemed small and empty. Difficult to get to without a car, especially as the current construction in the area seems to confuse local taxis. Probably not worth it to visit unless you have a car and kids (or a lot of time to kill).
Great place for kids. Not only is it educational, they also had a lot of playgrounds for kids to get their wiggles out. There are naturalists who give talks about the various animals and that is really appreciated. Most displays are fine. It's not the fanciest aquarium I've ever seen, but it's decent. Unfortunately there was a mess with construction at the parking lot and on top of that a very large section of the aquarium was closed for renovation. Maybe once these two projects are finished, this will be a 5-star site.
Better than Ripley’s Aquarium. This aquarium provides great views of aquatic organisms such as seahorse, fish, stingrays, and shark I think. Would highly recommend for tourists because you get to touch stingrays which is cool and very amazing experience. I didn’t know stingrays were that soft. It’s like baby skin?
It is a small but lovely aquarium. Indoor and outdoor areas to visit. The polar bear is so fun to see, especially when they are active - worth the walk, and even with the construction going on. The place is clean and generally well maintained. Visited one restroom which was uncomfortably warm. We will definitely visit again, if we are vacationing in the area.
The Aquarium of Quebec was amazing! We saw jellyfish, stingrays (you can even touch them, which is super fun!), and three polar bears that were very active around 10 a.m.—playing and moving around a lot, so that seems like a great time to visit. The aquarium was partly under construction, which made it a little harder to walk through in some areas, but it was totally worth it. Everything was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. It took us about an hour and a half to see everything, and it completely met our expectations. A great experience overall—highly recommended for families or anyone who enjoys marine and Arctic animals! 👏🐻‍❄️🐠
We absolutely loved the aquarium, we spent 2 1/2 hours there we took our time and we enjoyed everything about it. We thought it was very well organized, and we loved the Bears, the seals, the owls the jellyfish and truly everything about our visit. We highly recommend it.
We spent a good part of the morning at the aquarium and had lunch at the restaurant inside the compound. It was a great experience, especially with a 19 month old. There's a bit of construction happening, expansion i would assume. Parking spaces are being upgraded with electric charging etc. The staff was friendly and spoke English as well. Apart from the construction noises, it was a great. It is stroller friendly minus a few steps inside some buildings. Lots of parking available as well. Cheers!

I had a fantastic time at the parliament building. The building's walls featured an impressive array of statues, each honouring a significant political in Quebec's history and the on-site restaurant was a lovely addition. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making the whole experience truly enjoyable.
A beautiful building in this beautiful city, governing the province. It offers free admission to enter to see our democracy and some historic, highly important objects as well as history preserved in the walls.
A stunning historic landmark in Québec City! The Parliament Building is an architectural gem with beautiful Beaux-Arts design and an impressive façade. The grounds are well-maintained, with statues, fountains, and gardens that make it perfect for a stroll or photos. Guided tours are available for free and offer fascinating insight into Québec’s history, politics, and architecture. Even if you don’t go inside, the exterior views — especially from across the boulevard or from Dufferin Terrace — are worth seeing. A must-visit spot for history buffs, architecture lovers, and anyone exploring Old Québec.
We had been walking the city and seeing the sights when we came upon the lovely parliament building. Was able to go in and visit the various rooms and shop. The building is beautiful with a great deal of care taken into keeping it accessible. We even got to sit in on a session of the provincial assembly.
The Parliament Building in Quebec is truly impressive—rich in history, stunning architecture, and surrounded by beautiful gardens. A guided visit brings the province’s political heritage to life, and the interior is just as striking as the exterior. A must-see landmark in Quebec City!
A stunning and historic landmark in the heart of Québec City! 🇨🇦🏛️ We had a wonderful time visiting the Québec Parliament Building! The architecture is absolutely beautiful — elegant, detailed, and rich with history. The gardens and fountains surrounding the building make it a lovely place to stroll and take photos, especially on a sunny day. We joined a guided tour inside, and it was both informative and fascinating. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the history, art, and significance of the Québec government in an engaging way. Even if you’re not into politics, it’s worth visiting just to appreciate the craftsmanship and the sense of heritage that fills the halls. The area around the Parliament is also very walkable, with cafés, parks, and Old Québec just a short distance away. It’s the perfect stop if you’re exploring the city and want to learn more about its culture and history. Highly recommend visiting the Québec Parliament Building — it’s a must-see attraction that captures the beauty and pride of Québec! 🌿📸✨
Beautiful place to visit. There is guided visit if you order your ticket in advance from the web.
Nice and free place to visit if you want to take it easy and away from the cold outside. Employees were friendly and best of all it’s free. 7.7/10 would recommend

Every member of parks canada was deeply knowledgeable and helpful with are their displays...very informative and fascinating! Great job !
The park contains a renovated complex of fortifications that the French originally began building in 1712. Construction was paused when a treaty was signed with the British the following year. Subsequently, the defenses were replaced by more formidable fortifications at the top of the cliffs and the buildings were converted to barracks 30 years later. The current site includes the foundry and arsenal that produced artillery shells and other ammunition for the French, the British, and through World war fought by the Canadians. The current building provides a history of the site. The first floor has a recreation of the crowded French enlisted men’s quarters in which they cooked and ate their meals in the same room as they slept. The second floor, meanwhile, is reconstructed as the British officers’ quarters with a comfortable lounge with comfortable chairs and mahogany gaming tables, a large, formal dining room, and a hearth manned by a cook who officers hired to prepare their meals. The third floor houses the officer’s sleeping quarters and the apartment of the superintendent of the foundry. It is furnished with early 20th-century furniture and furnishings.
We walked here from Lofts Les-Billie, and the kids enjoyed it so much. There was a re-enactment of the war between the French and the British, I believe, the Brits were being “hammered” in the narratives. The crowd loved it, but hey, this is Quebec, they can say what they like, but the French took a whopping from the Brits. The process was light hearted and lots of laughs. There are very good restaurants around the place, with lots of ice cream parlours to me meet every sugar craving taste. I found the prices in the restaurants quiet reasonable, and services fantastic all in all. We ate in a different restaurant and tasted varying ice creams almost every other day on our five day stay.
This is an excellent park, we were walking around here and about to go into a house when we realised we had to pay! There is a fee to explore this area but it’s a small fee which gives you a lot to look at. There is a lot of places to see and to learn if you are into this sort of history. We loved the views of the city from the different areas above. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.
This little museum and its grounds do not get the attention they deserve, which may be bad for the govt folks that track numbers of visitors, but is good for the weary tourist seeking a quiet place that lacks hordes of tourists. That is just one of its merits, the other for me was that it has so many exhibits showcasing reproduced paintings of how Quebec developed over the centuries. A diorama of the fort is the centerpiece of this endeavor. It becomes obvious, if you were not already aware, of just how much use of the upper town's natural environment in terms of the cliff faces were used to provide a natural defense. And in turn the town and many of its defensive walls grew up around the original fortifications.
Great, small museum, hosted by the Government of Quebec’s Park Services, detailing the history of the fortifications and armaments used to protect the city. Many interactive family events, artifacts, and re-enactment movies in both English and French. The Park Services employees were very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of Quebec and were eager to answer any questions. When visiting Old Quebec City, take a moment and drop by this museum.
It's such a pretty and peaceful park. The flowers were beautiful. From the park you could view the Ottawa River and the parliament building as well as the back of a luxury hotel.
Had a great time here, only 8.5 bucks for an adult pass. Very interesting historical landmarks, impressive scale models, and cool preserved artifacts. The on-site guides and actors were fun and informative, with a bunch of great anecdotes and also local recommendations!

Quaint apartment in an excellent location for Quebec City, minutes away from all the main tourist spots. The studio is tight for 2 people, but perfectly manageable. Downsides were the stairs- there is no lift (a vommon for the area) and it is non manned so be prepared to carry your luggage. It was also very noisy, could hear every other person open doors and climb stairs and talk in the hallway.
Great location! Space was roomy with brand new appliances. The Murphy double bed was small for us but adequate. Our view was two windows looking at brick walls. Lack of toiletries in the bathroom and no coffee for the coffee maker was very disappointing. We couldn’t buy the coffee with filters used for the machine anywhere. Check in experience was difficult!
This was my 3rd visit to Quebec and my first visit at this property. Not a good experience. There was no hot water on the day of check out(Winter - end of December). Reported it to the staff but they couldn’t fix it on time. I noticed that there were not many guests probably at the property on the day and a day before checkout. Not sure if that was a reason for hot water to be unavailable assuming low usage or if there was actually a heating issue :-( We waited for a while for the issue to be fixed so we could shower but we had to follow up ourselves to know that issue couldn’t be fixed anytime before scheduled check out. Requested the staff to have an extended check out due to this issue but was granted only 30 mins (that too on request) because the heating apparently couldn’t be fixed till afternoon. The manager gets in touch through a message after check out which was disappointing. Would never come back and wouldn’t recommend.
Room was clean, the little kitchen has utensils and pots - that’s great! Nice old style house but finding the room was a bit tricky. You have to open the doors on the upper floors to get to the actual room and to see the room numbers. Having the numbers on the main door itself would be much better… but other than that everything was great. No problems with the code for the main door and room either.
Good location! Very small but very clean rooms! The kitchen is also very small but equipped pretty good. The bathroom is in a very clean and good condition but there is the smallest sink I've ever seen. There are small stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, some dishes. Unfortunately we didn't find tea and coffee despite of there was coffee maker. So we weren't able to have coffee or tea. But finally, I certainly recommend this place for travelers.
We have good impressions about our calm room No 10 with four little windows on the last floor. I enjoyed feeling the natural materials and to see the preserved charming details of that historic building (matt finish parquet, grey stone sections of the walls, round solid wood table, large hugge windowsills where I could seat with my cup of tea in the morning sunshine and look at the narrow street, trees, sky and roofs...). At the same time, all the modern comfort we needed was there: fully equipped kitchen corner, sparkly clean bathroom, immaculate white bedding. The location is great: you are in the old city, but the street itself is very calm. The communication by phone with the team was efficient. They organized an earlier check-in and allowed us to choose between two available rooms. Suggestions to the owners: 1) not forget to return the $100 deposit (I waited for 4 days and had to call); 2) to announce correctly the quantity of beds for that room (instead of 2 beds, there where 1 bed and 1 short sofa...); 3) to provide some tea/coffee/cream/sugar for more welcoming touch.
Avoid Le Haute Ville! Bait & switch. Our "studio apartment" was a very cramped dump, not what was pictured & described on line. Not enough room to open the closet all the way. Dead bugs & curly hairs between the sheets! Seriously. Owner didn't bother to shovel or chop the very slippery sidewalk at the entrance. Never again!
What a dreadful experience. My wife and I took our first vacation with our ten-month-old daughter in the middle of March, and the promise of staying in Old Quebec was completely enchanting. In reality, our stay at Le Haute Ville was so miserable that it forced is to end our vacation early. What could be worse? Upon entering the suite, we were struck by two things: first, that the room did not appear to be the one we had booked online; and second, what would turn out to plague our stay, a window was left open and the temperature in the suite was nearly that of the outdoors - a few degrees above zero. We tried warming up in the described "queen-sized bed" but guess what? It's actually a double! We actually had to turn the oven on to warm up the room for the sake of our baby because the radiators were incapable of heating the space sufficiently. In the middle of the night we woke to the sound of the wind howling through the suite. I got out of bed, absolutely frigid, and discovered that the window had been blown open. The latch was in such disrepair that a strong wind could readily open the window and let all of the precious heat escape. Our daughter was freezing. We did what we could to warm her up, but two adults and a baby do not at all fit comfortably in a double bed, so I lay shivering on the pull-out bed with the totally insufficient extra blanket the establishment provided. We had booked three nights but agreed that we couldn't endure staying another night. In the end, Le Haute Ville reimbursed us for two of the three nights. I'm still shocked that they didn't refund us in full after the nightmarish stay we had. The deception is right from the first. I would not recommend giving your money to a business that is sleazy enough to lie about the size of beds they provide. Shame on you, Le Haute Ville.

One of the most beautiful place in Canada. I would highly recommend visiting here. All the streets give you a very easy european vibes. Very colourful during summer. Excellent restaurants options. Very happening place for couples, friends and family.
Huge walkway As a tourist Hotspot there must be multiple information desk for information related to historic attraction Or if you are traveling you must spend 3 days to walk and find the historical sites I liked the ambiance and walkway Very hard to find parking Spaces Unfortunately there was protest for wages which really disturb the traffic Overall the experience was good and worth full
My favourite place! Really nice place to visit. Good place for site seeing and lot of monumental sites to visit. Wonderful place must visit if you are coming to Quebec. I feel like old montreal
Visited Quebec City in mid-October. Love the city, especially the old town. A lot of historic sites, cobblestone streets, interesting shops, and nice resturants. Weather was pleasant, average temperature was 50-60F, not too old. Fall fiolages was awsome.
There's a lot to do in and around old port. From the ferris wheel to paddle boats. If you want to experience it all, it may take 2 days.
We were here last year summer as a family and we still talk about it. We absolutely loved it, especially the old town. There is a lot of history in those steep cobblestone streets, interesting stores, great views and amazing restaurants. not sure during other seasons but the weather during summer was just perfect.
