what a fun little museum!! 🐟🐟🐟 the staff are very friendly and happy to answer questions - I myself joined a small group of children being led through the history of the bluenose. ive heard there used to be an aquarium on the main floor, now there are only a handful of fish left. i understand why this is the case, and there are still plenty of things to see :) Miss Bluenose II was out sailing while we were visiting but we got to see her as we arrived. what a beautiful boat! definitely worth visiting!! 😋
This museum is fantastic. There is so much info and history it was great. I truly enjoyed everything. Hard to talk about something in particular… all the staff had lots of info and easiness to share their knowledge… on thing I have not seen anywhere else: a tribute to the real history with the indigenous and the intact in the Africa slave trade. I was very happy to see that but my perception is that it should of been at the beginning of the museum before we enter. It is such a profound statement and being of mikma’k and Haitian descent, it made me feel seen. Also because we don’t carry money anymore, maybe another system we could use for donation….
A neat little place to learn a little about the local history of the fishing industry. Way more interesting than I thought it would be. Traveling with kids (age 3-8) and there's enough to keep them engaged for a couple of hours including a Funky Fish Facts Scavenger Hunt.
Very interesting and comprehensive summary and explanation (w lot of great exhibits) of the Nova Scotia fishing industry. Guides were helpful and friendly. Gift shop had a nice diverse collection of items and reasonable prices. I hope to go again if I am around here in the future.
The staff were so knowledgeable and kind! I loved the marine life exhibit on the first floor and I really appreciated the displays mentioning irresponsible fishing, pollution, and its effects on the environment
Had a great time at the museum. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. A fun experience to see and learn more about the bluenose, the fishing industry, and the history of Lunenburg and Nova Scotia. We were lucky to get a discount with our CAA membership.
It was a truly enriching experience. The museum offers a deep and engaging look into Nova Scotia’s proud maritime and fishing heritage. The atmosphere was both welcoming and educational. The exhibits are well-organized and informative, covering historical fishing techniques and boatbuilding to marine life and the history of the Bluenose it really brought the stories to life.
I love it. There's exposition about schooner Blunose and Blunose II - Nova Scotia symbol. The children took part in "boat launch" - a theatrical reproduction of this process in the past.

The event of our summer vacation! A three hour morning cruise in excellent windy conditions was a blast. Crew were fantastic, knowledgeable and ever present for questions and to help. Advice: 1) Dress for cooler the expected conditions. 2)Book early (months seriously) as space for only 67 passengers and large waiting list and walkups turned away.
Very rude - My husband was interested in a cruise and signed up for one for tomorrow morning. As they were boarding today, he told a crewmember if there were any cancelations, hed be happy to go now. The female crew member held up her extended hand to his face and said "No! were good!". A kind simple "sorry, we're full" would have sufficed. I was just in the Bluenose store and spoke to the cashier for a second about the chocolate by Peace by Chocolate. No smiles from her at all. I guess it's true that when you can't give one, you probably need it the most. They must be horrible employers.
We came here to check in for our sail on the Bluenose and to buy some souvenirs. The staff is very friendly and great ambassadors for the Bluenose and Nova Scotia in general. The gift store was very well stocked and the prices are very reasonable.
My wife, daughter and I drove from Greenwood to see this beautiful ship. We were not disappointed we were able to board and take pictures in front of her iconic bow. Our only regret is not being able to sail on her serving as one of the deckhands. Hopefully next year. My family has had a love for this ship all my life as she is known as "the pride of Nova Scotia" and we are proud "Bluenosers" thank you for keeping as I remember.
There were so many options to choose from. I love the quality of the souvenirs.
Came here to check out the Bluenose 2 merchandise. The company store is a nonprofit. The proceeds that the store makes goes to funding the Bluenose 2. I saw some traveling YouTubers go to the Bluenose 2 Company Store and get some t-shirts. I figured that this store would have hoodies too, so I came here to get a hoodie. And I have successfully gotten a white light hoodie with the words Bluenose 2 and Nova Scotia written on it. Merchandise gotten. It was expensive lol. It came to a total of around $57.
Great store, lots of things to buy at a good price. Friendly service. You can buy tickets there to take 2 2 hour bluenose ride. So fantastic
Great trip on the Bluenose II! The store had a nice variety of merchandise ranging from the kitschy to the ornate. I left with a bulging bag of gifts and souvenirs and some lovely memories.

Such a beautiful church. It tells the history of the fire that the church has that destroyed everything and there’s a tour guide there to tell you more if you ask. Stained glass is on all walls and the balcony has the Lords Prayer and the 10 commandments written down. Definitely recommend if you love history & religion. The glass is absolutely beautiful
I happened upon this spot, and noticed a bell out front that had been damaged in a fire. It was difficult to conceive that this old looking church was actually rebuilt only 20 years ago. After consulting with the tour guide inside the church, I learned about the sad history of the fire, but more importantly the restoration of this historic property. It mixes the old and the new quite in a unique and lovely way and is definitely worth a short visit.
Absolutely beautiful and well preserved church. A must visit
The guides were awesome! They were able to tell us so much about the already fascinating building, making it even more interesting! So much cool history to be learnt. If you stop in, I 100% recommend asking the guides to show you around!
Terrific acoustics. Have seen several different concerts here. Always beautiful. Highly recommended
Stunning Architecture & Rich History We only stopped into St. John’s Anglican Church for a brief visit, but it completely blew us away. The architecture is absolutely beautiful—so detailed and full of character. It’s one of those places that instantly feels special. We also got to learn a bit about its fascinating history, which added even more depth to the experience. If you’re exploring Lunenburg, this spot is definitely worth stepping into—even just for a few minutes.
There is a donation box at the entrance, and each person donated 5 Canadian dollars. This is a must-visit place in Lunenburg, right?
Love this beautiful church and its history. Amazingly, there are still lots of people who come to join the worship. We were surprised to see how the 10 tuned bells sang different songs at noon for half an hour. Don't forget to check the "Vinegar Bible" downstairs.

Great historical venue, amazing products and huge range. Meg looked after us very well, telling awesome stories about how each of the products came to be. Definitely worth a visit! We visited in Feb during Winter and needed the warm up, but that also meant no wait. I will presume that it is very busy in the summer though. Thanks team, I'll be back and will be ordering from you to replenish my supply!
Fantastic tour with Meg. She is so good. Very good products. Their 10yo rum and rum on the boat is very good. The vodka is exceptional. Their whisky has lots of potential and a couple of their expressions even though young are actually worth buying
We are from Connecticut, USA and visited here for our Anniversary. We did a tasting and everything we tried we enjoyed and subsequently bought to bring home. Some of it made the entire journey where others didn't make it through the night. Wish we could get your product delivered here as I would buy frequently. Keep doing what you're doing.
Ironworks Distillery is such a unique gem in Lunenburg! Housed in a historic blacksmith’s shop, it beautifully blends local history with the craft of distilling. The charm of the old building adds so much character, and you really feel the story of the place as soon as you walk in. They offer fantastic tours where you can learn about the history of the distillery, their traditional techniques, and how they use locally sourced ingredients. The guides are passionate and knowledgeable, making the whole experience engaging and fun. The tasting is the highlight — from rum to vodka to their famous fruit liqueurs, everything is top quality and bursting with flavor. It’s not just a distillery, but also a cultural experience that connects Nova Scotia’s heritage with outstanding craft spirits. If you’re in Lunenburg or nearby, a visit here is an absolute must. Highly recommended for history buffs, spirit lovers, and anyone looking for something memorable!
Had a wonderful tasting! Fantastic host & lots of great product. Highly recommend popping in & doing a tasting!
At a cute-small-unique town as Lunenburg, visiting the local distillery is just... magic. Many tourists, as myself, get fascinated by stories and this distillery has plenty. They have great selection of spirits and rum. For me, that was born in one of the most famous rum producers in the Caribbean, tasting the quality of their rum is just a high-end experience. Don't miss to come here when you are visiting Lunenburg, you'll love it!!!
Fun tour. Very in-depth and historical. Lots of tastings with a good variety of liquors. There was even "sweet" Maple rum and Maple Cream tastings for girls like me who don't like the strong stuff !!
Cool.history behind the building, some neat relics still there as well as the history and antiquity of the building itself. Really friendly staff, knowledgeable, personable, welcoming. Really interesting spirits, unique methods, loved everything I tried.

Musical theatre depicting historical stories and folk stories of Lunenburg in a really fun way. Educational and hilarious! I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I'm usually not a musical fan, but I was extremely entertained! Huge range of people in the audience, from 5 to 101 years old! Doors open at 6.30. Arrive asap after that you ensure you get a seat as it's hugely popular. Donation of $10 per adult encouraged.
This was a great way to spend an evening leading about the culture and history of Lunenburg in a fun and music filled way. Costumes, while simple, added to the ambiance of the acting and singing. Good for locals and people from a far.

Incredible talent. Well worth the visit. I've been to the gallery at least 7 times and never tire of it. Something different every time. You must see Laurie's work...should be on everyone's bucket list.
Beautiful textile art. Too pricey for me but absolutely gorgeous.
Top quality selection of her pieces, and some contemporary art by other Nova Scotia artists. Knowledgeable and professional gallerist. Marvelous.
We'll organized gallery; Laurie's quiltwork is incredibly well crafted and highly representative of Nova Scotian scenery.
Amazing quilt art. A must see if you are a quilter or into fiber art of any kind.

Excellent museum built in 1793 British simplicity, give a donation and get a tour ! Outstanding guides take 30 minutes max and soak up the history. Ask about how they deeded land initially and the children’s shoes to ward off spirits. 7 fireplaces, numbered beams from England to reassemble… go for it !
The museum was amazing. The way they curated the history especially their research behind it was well done. The young woman, Sibin, was great at walking down the stories to me. Definitely a must-visit.
We came upon the museum on a day trip to Lunenburg. The staff that provided the tour were very helpful and informative. So much history to absorb. The tour only takes about 20 minutes and is worth the time if you visit this wonderful town.
Loved visiting here for the first time. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Would super recommend to check this house out while in Lunenburg!!
Fun little free museum (they do accept donations though)! Learned and saw some really cool things here. The guide was so nice and informative. Love learning history!
The young woman who took me around the house was amazing. The museum is bursting with great displays and is fascinating. The tour is free but they accept/need donations. I left with a much better knowledge of this incredible town of Lunenburg.
We had a tour with a young gentleman. He took just myself and my boyfriend through. Such a wealth of information both from our tourguide and all of the displays around the house. Well laid out and they cover a bunch of different time frames and owners of the house.
The young lady who took us on a tour through the house today did a wonderful job telling us about the history and answering all my questions. It was a highlight of my day trip to Lunenburg.

The thought and detail put into this place is simply outstanding! A great place for kids and adult train enthusiasts to experience model trains while stepping back in time. The owner is extremely knowledgable and gives you a real experience, like giving you a real ticket, stamped and everything. They even had a mini gift shop at the end with train conductor hats and model train cars. Our kids had a blast and we will absolutely be back!
Neet little museum. A great model train that is exact replica of the days of old of the South Shore. Owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great with the kids. Lots of cool train artifacts to see also. I highly recommend! Our family loved it.
Such an awesome place. The staff are so wonderful. I could spend hours here, and I have!
This museum is a labour of love of one man and a team of volunteers who help him. Make sure to arrive just before the museum opens at 10AM to get a thrill as the train whistle is blown. The detail in the models is incredible and the fun addition of cartoon characters to find is great.
Great place of you love trains! Very good experience about the history of the railroad in Nova Scotia
A labour of love and dedication from a team of hardworking individuals who want to accurately preserve history. It's a very cool little museum with lots of models and artifacts but you also get a whole experience of boarding the train as well. It's worth a stop if you have the time. Duane is so passionate and interesting to talk to.
Loved it. We almost drove past it and gave it a shot. You can tell there's a lot of love and effort put into the experience right from the start. The interconnecting model is fantastic and the experience in transitioning from the day to night and back in the model was great. It was my son's highlight of our Nova Scotia trip. My daughter loved it as well.
Great small museum. Kids enjoyed the model railroad and playing a scavenger hunt. The two individuals showing us around we very personable and good with the kids. Definitely worth a stop to keep the history of the old railroad alive.

I am a partner at a local accounting firm in the Halifax area and am pleased that Dan's art has graced our offices for over 20 years now where it is admired by clients on a regular basis. His techniques result in images that glow in any light and the coastal themes resonate well with our location. Where else can you get a landscape of Cape Split that spans 12 feet above our entrance? Thank you Dan for sharing your works with our firm.
I visited Dan's gallery in Lunenburg in September of 2021 and it is one of the best galleries I have ever seen. His thoughtful and dramatic presentation of his work in his gallery is stunningly impressive. His artwork is amazing and I purchased 2 pieces of Dan's work that same day. His pieces look stunning on the walls of my home. Furthermore, Dan is a lovely man to deal with and he is exceptionally friendly. I could not have had a better experience with Dan and I am a true fan of his amazing artwork. I highly recommend him and his work.
It was the summer of 2021 that I happened to find myself in Dan’s gallery. My husband and I are not art connoisseurs, and typically we are in and out of galleries within minutes. But we both found ourselves mesmerized by the space and the pieces on the wall. What we loved was that this wasn’t just about art, but it was a full experience. Dan had curated rooms and spaces that included words of wisdom and little touches of magic. We found ourselves slowing down and taking in each room and message. Finally, at the end of our tour, Dan asked if there were any pieces that stood out. There were a few, but one in particular caught my eye. After connecting with the man behind the art, I felt that there was a deeper connection and with his help, I was able to make my first art purchase. The piece now rests above our fireplace in our new home in Nova Scotia. When asked about it, I recall the overall experience of the purchase and the magic behind it. Thank you Dan for your art, your words of wisdom, and the experience, now a memory.
When you visit Daniel’s gallery in beautiful downtown Lunenburg, NS, you are welcomed and hosted as a guest of his home. As he took us through his magical gallery full of exceptional art installations, he shared with us his history with the Art Gallery of Ontario and his transformation into the study and implementation of luminosity into his art form. The transition of his art as viewed through varying levels of light is truly extraordinary. Daniel is a quirky character, and we thoroughly enjoyed his many enchanting stories. We are delighted and truly honoured to have a couple of his dynamic pieces gracing our home
Visiting Dan Richards's gallery was the ultimate highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. I am a professional designer, with some art training, and I could see immediately that Dan's art is next level. When I walked into the gallery, my immediate reaction was, "Wow, this art is amazing!" and that initial reaction has held up. When the art arrived, it sucked me into the detail, composition, and beauty all over again. And our framer with a degree in Fine Art had the exact same reaction. As we unfurled Lloyd's Landing, Blue Boat, and two of Dan's incredible black and white works, each and every time, he gasped "Wow, that's beautiful!" But even more amazing that the art is the artist. Dan Richards took more care that my art professors to explore my own perception, reaction, and appreciation of each image. Art is an act of putting one's creative and personal energy into the world, and each of Dan's works if full of his spirit.
The art was beautiful and the artist was inspirational! Dan took us around his gallery himself and made us see his art through different perspectives. The experience was incredibly memorable and the piece my husband and I bought will forever be a significant artwork in our life. As Dawn said we’ll have a story for years to come!
Dan's work is gorgeous and my husband and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Dan to pick out art that we'll love forever. He was incredibly thoughtful, helpful and kind and gave us amazing insight about life and how to pick out art that we'll carry with us always. We're so honored to have been able to visit his thoughtful, beautiful space and have a piece of his collection for the rest of our lives.
We love our art from Daniel Richards Studio. His paintings add character, life, and color to our home and have become great conversational pieces. We feel fortunate that we stumbled upon his studio while on vacation. We enjoyed the educational aspect of his studio and were delighted to actually talk to the artist himself. He explained his methods and inspiration and asked us if we would like to own a print for our home. We embraced the process of selecting our favorite works and negotiating a fair price. We eagerly awaited our prints and were pleased with Dan's responsiveness to our questions after the art arrived.

Absolutely stunning falls. The fall is accessible by car with few parking spots near the fall. You have to take the stairs down to see the full view of the fall. The fall season is the best time to see some wonderful colors of the fall. There is a portable toilet if needed. Great fall with clear signs.
Great little place to stop to see the falls...the path was not completed and there was no really great place to see the full falls.
A lot of trails under construction but what a great little gem of a public park! Its just a short drive from the main road to the parking area then a very smooth level path to the main viewing platform which has a bench and picnic table. Great spot to have a family picnic.
Lovely spot for swimmers and nature lovers. Few walking trails and setting arrangements for family and friends, who wish to enjoy their picnic.
DO NOT follow the directions given by Google. Trust me! You will end up at a dead end dirt road in the middle of nowhere. The actual physical address of Indian Falls is 585 Newburne Road, Lunenburg, NS. Your GPS will lead you to the correct place. There is a blue sign at the entrance to Indian Falls Park. When you get to the end of the road, there is a closed gate. Just turn left and you will see a small parking lot and some port-a-potties. Walk past the port-a-potties to the left and you will see an observation area at the top of the falls. To the left of the observation area is a nice, well traveled path that will lead you to a staircase with 42 stairs. That will take you to the bottom of the falls. I was there today (July 11, 2023) and the falls were very strong. Be careful at the bottom of the stairs that you don't slip and get swept away. The falls are very beautiful.
Lovely spot for a picnic or a swim (for a strong swimmer). This isn't really a 'hike' since it's fairly small but cute for a view of the falls or for a quick bite at one of the 3 picnic tables.
Its one of the Nova Scotia’s high flow waterfalls. This fall is in well maintained park. Because of high flow of water it could be dangerous. The water looks yellow black coloured, doesn’t seem to be good for drinking. Its in the county of Lunenburg. The county looks to have made a small dam on it to assist fishes to breed. Fishing close to the dam is prohibited. Small bridge is also closed for the public. At the bottom side it has serene wide space to sit and relax.
Easy parking. Brief walk. Easy to find. Stairs down to the falls, they were closed around September 2023 but you can still walk down the hill and see the falls.

This art gallery is amazing. They are focused on local artists, so all the art pieces in the wall will always be holding Lunenburgs history with it, this is an amazing place to see how locals see their own place! It's truly amazing!

One of the places to visit in Lunenburg Nova Scotia if you are travelling to this area.I went to this place last year.It was an awesome trip with my friends.Staff were very friendly and informative. They explained us everything about the farm.We could take same amazing pictures from here. This was the first time i saw a cranberry farm. It is really worth to visit..
Terra Beata makes the BEST blueberry juice I have ever had. Most other "blueberry" juices sneak in apple & grape as filler & that totally ruins it for me. I want blueberry ONLY & that's what Terra Beata makes. Blueberries, water & a touch of sugar or you can buy w/o sugar if you prefer. For some people, being able to adjust the sweetness is key. The stuff is just plain delightful, I don't know how else to say it...Im ashamed to admit it but it's so good that when I open a bottle I lick the cap before I rinse & recycle because there's maybe 2 drops on that cap that I don't want to miss out on🤣 If you love blueberries, you should definitely try this juice!
I visited this farm for open farm day and had a wonderful tour with Evelyn! I loved the fact they've worked so hard to accumulate all of their technology and equipment over the years. They really have some high-Tec stuff that does wonders. The processing facility also helps process berries from local farms nearby and it's an awesome family run farm in general! It's cool the craisins are made with 60% less sugar than regular. I bought some undiluted cranberry juice too and loved it!! So sweet! Their doing an awesome job, check them out in the grocery stores.
I just bought a bottle of cherry and a bottle of blueberry from Foodland. They kept my receipt unfortunately. They were both absolutely disgusting. Tasted like blue water and red water. All the other reviews I've read definitely don't describe the "juice" I just threw money away on as they wouldn't refund my money because they were opened...
Only tart juice I have found that works this well on gout. Also does amazing for endometriosis pain. The taste is so good. I absolutely love this product and recommend it to everyone.
This place makes the best cranberry and blueberry juices that you can buy anywhere in Canada. It's nice to find a cranberry juice that isn't from concentrate. I know of no other company that makes cranberry or blueberries juices not from concentrate
Their's is the best cranberry juice I've found. 100% cranberry juice and 1/3 less sugar than other popular brands. Check the label. Makes buying local easy.
The farm has a small U-pick cranberry patch. It was by chance open on the Sunday we went. The lady running the store met me as I was walking out of the parking lot, she provided me with a bucket and some instructions on how to pick. We picked cranberries for about 30 minutes and got 3/4 of a bucket. Cranberry picking is hard, the bushes are low to the ground so you have to bend over to pick cranberries. Additionally the cranberries are small so it takes a while to fill the pail. I believe it's a cash only operation, so make sure you bring cash. We got our 3/4 of a bucket for under $5. After leaving we ate quite a few cranberries on the drive home - they are sweet right off the bush.

A little gem. Worth a stop. The place wasn’t completely open but the owner made us lobster rolls (which were much better than the lobster from a nearby restaurant) and then we tried the homemade ice cream. The best ice cream I’ve had in Canada and beyond. What a wonderful authentic taste. Had the roasted coconut and the orange and pineapple ice cream.
Almost drove by when we saw the home made ice cream sign! Had a great chat with Donald and got the scoop on the Blue Rocks! He told us exactly where to go to see them. Ice cream was amazing and we probably would have had a lobster roll if we hadn’t just had lunch. Impressive collection of cameras in his gallery! So glad we stopped in!
What a funky little gem! This place is a fish and chips shack meets photography gallery, owned by a local Blue Rocks couple. We ordered the fish and chips, the bbq brisket sandwich and some homemade ice cream (coconut + strawberry rhubarb), and everything was incredible. You can tell it’s all homemade with fresh fish and ingredients. It felt like we were at a family bbq with Donald grilling things up on the spot for us. Donald has his photography and his wife’s art in the gallery, and he has an impressive collection of film cameras for sale! Donald also has some great stories to share of Nova Scotia and Canada, so we enjoyed chatting with him. Definitely don’t miss this spot when you’re in Blue Rocks.
Wholesome little shack run by a lovely couple! We stopped by for ice cream and the owner served us even though he had just closed. Their homemade lemon and pineapple ice cream is the best fruit ice cream I've had. What a talented couple with their art too! Such a place of love, care, and passion. Definitely stop by!
We almost drove by but luckily we stopped. The food was excellent, the owner gave us great tips for the next leg of our trip, the gallery is unique with photography memorabilia and lots of framed art. The owner offers homemade ice cream. He had rum raisin and strawberry rhubarb available on the day we visited.
We originally went to Lunenburg but felt it was too busy. Driving just out of town we found the Blue Hog. What luck to find Don and his gallery. He was happy to spend time talking with us and his photographs of local scenes are amazing. The bonus was his fish & chips shop where his own smoked salmon was delicious. This stop was one of the highlights of our trip.
Ice cream delicious. Interesting fellow and simple art. Beautiful quaint spot.
What a terrific find!! We're visiting from Dallas, Texas and were driving toward Blue Rocks when we came upon this little gem. Don and his wife were terrific hosts and the food was spectacular...not to mention the water view. If you want to experience something a little off the beaten track I suggest dropping in. We had fish and chips and smoked salmon. By the way, Don smokes it himself.

It was so beautiful there the water was nice there's a beach and walking trails outhouses are clean , very beautiful place
Cute little spot for a picnic or jus to take in the view. The beach was fairly rocky but still lots to explore.
Cute and quiet place for a picnic. One washroom and no playground area. Rocky and pretty waterfront.
If you're looking for a beach, then head down the road a bit further. But if you're looking for a secluded, rugged, and peaceful place to have lunch or go for a stroll, this hidden gem is worth the trip.
A local favourite of ours, though it's probably a little plain for someone just passing through. The beach is pretty, but rocky. Good picnic spots throughout with well kept Tash bins and outhouses. Often wildlife around, including hares and owls. A great spot if you're looking for a peaceful stop.
Nice pick-nick area. Walking around we spotted an owl.
Quiet spot for a walk or picnic lunch!
What a charming little tuck away. The area is very pretty with an amazing view of the water. We went early in the morning to collect shells (such a tourist) and were happily surprised by the cleanliness of the beach and no fish smell. Spent a couple hours walking the beach, met others doing the same and noted the clear water out as far as we could see. Rolled up the pant legs and walked in. Very nice and quiet. Great way to start a day with our Tim Hortons.
