Beautiful serenity......a must visit. We made the drive to Sedona to see this beautiful sanctuary. Very glad to have made the drive as pictures do not do it justice. The gift shop was a plus to purchase some memorable souvenirs. There are candles to light with their suggested donation amount for the candles ($1) which is so reasonable. The parking is limited so either go earlier or later to beat the crowds if yiu plan to sit and enjoy it and pray!! Happy prayers 🙏 ✨️
Easily one of the most wonderful stops we made on our trip. We spent time here enjoying the views and peaceful vibe. Everything from the drive in to the walk up the ramp was stunning. Once you reach the entry you are greeted by friendly staff. I can understand why it has so many good reviews. We picked up some items from the amazing ladies in the gift shop and enjoy part of a mass. The gift shop had things packed into every available space so take your time and you’ll find something for sure. Most are religious items, however there are many items that were not. So many people showed for mass, they placed chairs outside to maximize the amount of people who could enjoy it. Parking is a bit tricky, with only a few handicapped spaces, and the walk uphill once you find a spot made people a bit frustrated - I would suggest trying to find a slow time. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty busy. I have to assume earlier weekdays would be better. You can drop people who can’t do the uphill walk at the top of the hill but getting a vehicle turned around and back down can be tough and take a bit. They have team members on golf carts if you can get one! Take a small car if you can!
Major shout out to Chapel of the Holy Cross you’re truly setting the bar for excellence thank you to all those that maintain the grounds and for have handicap accessible parking. This Chapel is alive with the energy of God, beautiful place to come and pray and see very beautiful scenic view.. if you’re doing cross country trips or just visiting Sedona, Arizona I highly recommend that you put this on your bucket list of places to see as well worth the trip
Parking is very limited. As well as safely getting a good picture. Be safe taki.g photos below the road. The insode of the church is very small. They do allow you to come inside and talk to God. There's a smal gift shop below. The views of sedon is beautiful at the top of the church
Beautiful place with stunning views and a well-known tourist destination. Parking: Free parking is available either right outside the chapel or at the lower level, with golf carts available to take visitors to the top (free service, accept tips). You can drive up and park if a spot is open, or return to the lower lot if full. There is also a Sedona shuttle connect service that takes guests to the top, providing another great option. Kudos to the staff for their excellent efforts in managing and assisting visitors despite the limited parking availability.
Super grateful my husband took us here on our return trip from California to Chicago. Shout out to Chapel of the Holy Cross you’re truly setting the bar for excellence thank you to all those that maintain the grounds and for have handicap accessible parking. This Chapel is alive with the energy of God, beautiful place to come and pray and see very beautiful scenic view.. if you’re doing cross country trips or just visiting Sedona, Arizona I highly recommend that you put this on your bucket list of places to see as well worth the trip
I went on a busy Saturday, but still found a parking spot in one of thier 2 small parkings lots. You park below and walk up the street or the labeled dirt trail, and there is about 5 disabled parking spots at the top..... plenty of room to get in and walk around the Chapel and gift shop downstairs, without waiting. You can walk up the the front of the Chapel, once inside and see the Jesus footprints in Bronze. Be sure to get lots of scenic pics on both sides, when outside by the Chapel. Worth the quick stop, it was free and it took me about 30-45 min. Worth of time to see.
Nice place to stop and visit. It was packed with people so we ended up parking on the lower section and took the trail up to see everything. Short little hike but not all that difficult. Nice walking path to get to the Chapel. Amazing location / views with all that surrounds it.

Wow. What a beautiful experience at Cathedral Rick on our trip to Sedona, Arizona. The climb gets tougher as you go higher, and make sure you remember the trail going up. A bit slippery on the way down. Also, a beautiful stream if you hike to your right and flatland to the left.
There are no words. The emotions I felt getting to the top are indescribable. I truly felt the energy. The climb was difficult but well worth the entire experience. Don't forget to go to the left at the end of the trail for another part!
Loved our experience hiking there. To be noted it is pretty steep going up and coming down, and yet totally worth the climb. 💕Beautiful scenery from the top!
Got there on a Tuesday morning in late Oct at 7 am. Found plenty of spots in the additional parking. The hiking is very fun and challenging! Don’t be scared of the little tunnels at the tail! It’s only a small portion of the whole trail. If you can climb up, then there is no problem going down! Turn left to find the platform at the end of the trail!
We started at the Baldwin trail. Parking was $5. It was lovely, shaded and refreshing.
Watched the sunset here with my sister and it was such a memorable experience. Beautiful scenery, great views and a really nice hike. Loved this trail and the views cannot be beat.
The breathtaking sunset views up there are absolutely worth the effort!! It wasn’t super difficult as I was hiking in a group and I only needed to follow the footing of people in the front which helped a lot. If I were to figure out the submitting route myself, it would have been horrifying. It’s about half a mile going up with 600+ ft elevation gain. It took about 30 mins to go up and about 20 mins to go down so I recommend start descending right away after sunset(if you are here for the sunset view) to have enough date light while scrambling down. I highly, highly recommend wearing shoes with good grips as that will make this adventure much safer. Parking becomes impossible within one hour of the sunset time.
It is a short but demanding hike up some steep sections, including some rock scrambling up to the base of the cathedral rock… Spectacular views and great workout .. I highly recommend go early morning and beat the crowds…

Stunning area overall, but truly magnificent at sunrise. Clearly marked trails and several options to choose from. There isn't a lot of shade on the trail, so bring hats and water!
A short walk in a beautiful red rocks landscape (though probably not the best one in Sedona!). Hike up a little higher other than the base path and be blessed with sweeping views of the area.
Just came back we really enjoyed it majestic view and it gives you a sense of calm and peace. Couldn’t make the hike because of knee injury but next time will do
Breathtaking vistas, a calmness that is hard to describe. If you have any appreciation for geological features… This is a must see.
It was beautiful! Peaceful and serene. I highly recommend buying your park ticket ahead of time. Also, get up early to go visit these places. Parking fills up quickly.
Great place to hike! Some paths are easy and others are more challenging. Parking is a bit of a challenge. There are a couple of lots ($5.00/day) but all were full with cars coming in constantly. We lucked out by finding someone leaving.
Great hike but park in north parking if you intent to climb. The climb was good. Surprisingly at the top I felt tingling effect in my feet and legs. After coming down my wife told me about vortex at bell rock. I don’t believe these but I felt something, kind of interesting.
Great walk, stunning views and clearly indicated. Bring enough water, it gets hot in summertime.

We were driving along Highway 89A and unexpectedly found ourselves winding through Oak Creek Canyon—and wow, what a stunning drive! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, with dramatic red rock cliffs, lush greenery, and the creek weaving alongside the road. As someone who loves nature, I instantly felt drawn to the landscape. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to pull over at every turn just to soak it all in. I wish I had planned more time to actually stop and explore the area—there seemed to be so many trails, lookout points, and hidden gems along the way. It’s definitely going on my list for a longer visit next time. If you’re into natural beauty, this is a must-see spot.
Canyons are always awe-inspiring, and it’s remarkable to think how nature has shaped and preserved them over time for us to experience today. This beautiful red rock canyon is no exception, with green accents adding contrast to the dramatic landscape. Though I didn’t visit in the early morning, I imagine that would be an ideal time for birding. The bridge connecting Sedona and Oak Creek Trail is especially breathtaking, a short span, but perfectly positioned to take in the views. It also serves as a convenient access point for several excellent hiking trails, including the Huckaby Trail and Wilson Mountain Trail, both offering stunning vistas and immersive nature experiences. A scenic spot well worth a stop.
Stunnninly beautiful place!! Wouldn't go fish there again but def will hike down. The access point is marked with a sign that states "water access" and then there are steps half concrete half boulder
Stumbled across this great hiking area totally by chance. There are several crossings where it would help if you had a hiking stick. Trail markers are generally good but having alltrails app def a big plus. End of trail a bit anticlimactic but the way there is super exciting and moderating challenging. Plenty of mini water crossing on wood or ice depending on time of year. Would def come back again.
It's fall, ya'll! I think I missed the peak by a week, but it's still on and poppin' out here.
Great place to go swimming and do family water activities. The water was quite clear, and very cool. There were other people there but not so many it was crowded, we went on a Monday.
Beautiful got first naturally caught rainbow trout, nice keeper

The bridge is spectacular. It takes more than an hour to walk from the parking lot. The scenery is beautiful.
The Devil’s Bridge Trail leads to natural sandstone arch in the Sedona area. It’s a popular must to do hike and one can go on the bridge for the views. We did the Mescal Trailhead and keep hydrating thru out the hikes
My favorite place in Sedona. The trail is long and we went there with 7 years old. I recommend to go there as early as you can, so it will be not hot, not crowded and you will see sunrise 🤩. The trail is not very hard except last 5 minutes. There are some high steps over there, but the view is amazing. The line to take a picture is long but it goes pretty fast.
The trail itself is absolutely beautiful and there are many scenic spots to stop and take photos of the whole valley below. The only unfavorable thing was the lack of available parking, even on an overcast day during the off season. The bridge itself was majestic though, and the trail is not too difficult until the very end (which was mostly because the rocks were slick with mud). Overall, the hike definitely won't disappoint, nor is it too difficult for non-hikers to do.
Beautiful hike; we went at sunrise. Saw some wild pigs and a tarantula along the way. Went early in the morning, so light crowd. The hike was easy; the climb up to the bridge was moderate. Take plenty of water.
What a hike! One of the best. Did it on a weekday late evening so it was very less crowded. The views are amazing and the hike is medium to hard.
One of the best easy hikes. I came with my family, and it’s a good hike with kids. My nephews were able to do it, and they’re not outdoorsy kids, but they were able to walk. From the parking lot all the way to the bridge, we took about 3 hours total (round trip). I've got to say it's worth the hike, bro, with no water, snacks, or proper hiking shoes.
From the closest parking lot the bridge is about 4 miles round trip. The bridge has a long line to take a photo so be prepared to wait. I got their at sunrise and there was already about 15 people in line. Great hike with amazing views the whole time. Can’t go wrong!

We went twice! First the day we came in to see the sunset but it was cloudy so we just saw a shadow and the 2nd time the evening before we left and what a spectacular sunset! Abundant Vortex energy. Easy parking at the top for $3. The lower area has only about 6 spaces and is free. Worth it! Oh and that same night we came back for amazing star gazing.
Cool loop hike, with good views of Sedona and the surrounding rock from the trail. It's a nice way to see the area from a higher viewpoint while on a hike. Very urban, you don't ever feel you are really "in nature" but I would still recommend it as a way to get a quick visual tour of the area. Another nice place to watch the sunset without having to go very far. You can just hike up as far as you want and then sit down on the grassy hillside (some parts are more tree-covered that others).
Beautiful. We ended every day watching the sunset and started every morning watching the sunrise. Breathtaking every time. Must do both at least once. It gets busy so show up early for both.
Beautiful at sunset. Get there early so you have time to park and hike up to the top. We really felt the energy of the vortex. My friend and I were sitting beside each other and had a completely different experience. Highly recommend! When it gets dark, it gets dark so bring a headlamp. Perfect spot for stargazing!
Pretty view. Lots of people there to watch the sunset. Can see the whole town and miles into the mountains.
We really enjoyed this hike! Not strenuous but a great easier hike with gorgeous views.
Best place to catch 360 degrees view of Sedona. Hike is pretty easy.
Get there early for sunset or don't bother. Awesome place to get a great view. Best at sunrise or sunset.

A great place to cool off from the heat. Cold water despite the warm temperatures! You can go in the stream/river and kinda slide downstream. It is pretty fun. The rocks look really cool too! You also can get ice cream there for a reasonable price after your swim :)
Slide Rock State Park is a Sedona gem! The park offers stunning views, ample parking, and a lovely picnic area. The walkway to the natural water slide is easily accessible, making it perfect for all ages. While the water was chilly for swimming, the scenery is breathtaking and the park is well-maintained. One suggestion for improvement: updating and cleaning the bathrooms. Despite being a bit busy, the park's beauty shines through – don't miss this Arizona treasure!
Slide Rock State Park is an absolute must-see when visiting Arizona. The natural red rock setting is breathtaking, and the creek that runs through creates a unique, fun experience unlike anywhere else. Sliding down the smooth rock formations into the cool water is exciting for kids and adults alike, and the surrounding scenery makes it feel like a true desert oasis. The park is also great for hiking, picnicking, or simply soaking in the incredible views. It can get busy, so going earlier in the day is best, but the experience is well worth it. Slide Rock is a perfect mix of adventure and natural beauty — a place you’ll never forget.
I've lived in AZ for a long while now and lived in Flagstaff for 5 years but never visited Slide Rock. It was a very nice and quiet November afternoon when we visited. The weather was perfect at 70 degrees and sunny. Parking is about a quarter mile or so from the steps down to the rock stream but its a beautiful walk. Nice grassy noles and red rocks towering over you. They have restrooms on the way there and throughout the park. There is a small market that has a good variety of product such as swim shoes, hats, sun sunscreen, snacks and drinks. Well stocked, clean and nice staff. There are BBQ picnic areas to enjoy lunch with the family as well in the park. The rock is very smooth and with a little moisture is slippery. There are steps and some rocks you need to traverse while making your way down but its not too bad. Be very careful stepping as there is uneven ground in some areas. We enjoyed the park and the scenery was stunning.
Possibly the coolest state park I've ever visited. You'll be tempted to plop your stuff down immediately because it's a long haul from the parking lot down to the creek. Keep walking to where the canyon walls will provide some afternoon shade, just past where the big kids are jumping off the ledge into the water. Whatever time your GPS says you will arrive in the morning, add 30 minutes for the added traffic trying to get to the state park. They start letting you in at 8.
This place is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. Very peaceful. It wasn't busy at all. Nice little walk to the water. Beautiful sights everywhere. There's a little market/general store as well.
Slide Rock is one of my favorites. The scenery is absolutely stunning. Also has a unique opportunity to learn the history of the property. It's fascinating.
Sliding Rock State Park is a beautiful and relaxing spot to enjoy nature with the whole family. The natural water rock slides are so much fun, especially for kids and anyone looking to cool off in a unique way. There are plenty of picnic areas and bathrooms available, making it really convenient for a day trip. They also have designated spots for grilling, which is perfect if you’re planning to cook out. The views of the surrounding mountains and the sound of running water make it a peaceful and scenic place to unwind. Highly recommend for a fun and refreshing outdoor getaway!

The park is very nice and underrated. Tons of nice trails and a nice mini museum inside the visitor center. Bring tons of water or gatorade, as the hot weather plus the hiking trails can make you exhausted. Nice scenery. 100% would recommend to a friend or family to visit. Nice wildlife too.
Great state park, just a heads up it is $10 per person not per car so the can definitely get pricey. Every day at 10am they have a ranger guided nature walk that takes about an hour. We chose to go on it and enjoyed it. This is a park you do have to walk, it's not one you can drive around and see things. Make sure you drive down to the creek, it's beautiful.
Came here for hikes twice with my wife. Really love how secluded it was as you hike outward. The views are truly spectacular as you can see a lot of the main Red Rock formations from here. Trail was well maintained and relatively bug free. We did see some private property along the way but generally well marked. If you are into moderate hikes with great scenery then this is definitely the right place. Just be sure to bring a few bottles of water.
Excellent drive with places to stop off for pictures. The park itself has 5 trails including on just .4 miles along a stream. Others are 1 to 3 miles long. Possible wildlife sightings but we only saw some birds. Peaceful environment. Picked up a cool new ornament in visitor center. Trails are not paved.
Only had a short time so we took a drive up to red rock State Park. We did an easy 2 mile hike and it was gorgeous!
This state park charges a $10 per person entrance fee and NOT per car. Unless you are into hiking around the park, the views of the surrounding mountains are no more spectacular than those you get from the various roadside lookout spots. There is a museum here with some displays.
Red Rock State Park was absolutely stunning! My friends and I visited recently and were blown away by the natural beauty and photo-worthy views at every turn. Even though it rained the whole day and we couldn’t stay long, we still managed to capture some amazing pictures and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The only thing we wish could improve is the parking—it felt a bit limited and tricky, especially on a busy day. But overall, it’s a must-visit if you’re in Sedona. Hoping for better weather next time because we’ll definitely be back!
Beautiful place to hike. I suggest starting early to stay out of the sun. The place is well kept and there are many trails.

Sedona Airport Road is one of those highlights that feels like a must-do for anyone visiting the area. We’ve taken this road occasionally at night just to stargaze, and every time it’s been magical. The Sedona sky is breathtaking after dark — even if you don’t have a fancy camera to capture the stars, the experience of seeing them in person is unforgettable. Beyond stargazing, this spot is also perfect for watching the sunset. The colors across the red rocks and horizon are truly stunning. If you have a little extra time, take a short hike around the area — the trails are easy enough for most people and offer incredible views from different angles. What makes this place special is how accessible it is while still offering those “once in a lifetime” kind of views. Whether you’re there for the stars, the sunset, or just to soak in the Sedona landscape, Sedona Airport Road is something everyone should experience at least once.
Amazing! Easy 30 foot walk even for people with handicaps. Amazing views! Worth it. The drive up was a bit scary for a couple people in our group because of the steep drop on the right side.
This is a beautiful lookout option if you are unable to hike up to the vista at Airport Mesa down the hill or if that parking lot is full. They charge you $3 per passenger vehicle (more for RVs or commercial vans) to park here and walk over to the overlook. It’s nice there is a metal sign that labels the peaks and rock features you see from the overlook. Would give 5 stars if parking was free, lol
Such a great hike! The views of the other vortex were absolutely stunning, and the surrounding scenery had an almost uncanny beauty—like nature showing off. I love taking a quick jaunt up to Sedona for those iconic red rock vistas, breathtaking landscapes, and that grounding touch of desert magic.
This was a 3 hour hike for us with 2 to 3 stops for water. We started at the top of the mesa where parking was 3 dollars. If you get there early enough, there is free parking for about 15 cars near one of the overlooks. I highly recommend this hike for first timers to Sedona to get a great view of the city and surrounding topography.
Cool little spot not too far from our hotel to check out the rocks. Nice view. Parking is $3 which is super reasonable and lots of parking.
The place is on top a hill overlooking the city. It has a sweeping view of the red rock formations. The parking fee is minimal. It can get busy and full during the peak hours, at sunset.
Wonderful view of the Sedona skyline. An easy accessible location with plenty of parking. Lots of different perspectives of the city. This is a must do in Sedona.

This is the go-to place to shop or just browse. There is something for everyone. The earlier you go the better as it gets busy really quick in the afternoon. We saw paintings, spices, spirits (small batch), sculptures, clothes, hats, jewelry, books, and wind vanes and we were there for about three hours and only got to see the left side. Across the road on the right side you could spend another three hours easily if you so choose. It is very nice and tranquil. Check out the videos as they will do more justice, than my talking. Great times!!!
Such beauty in every turn throughout Tlaquepaque. From art to amazing water fountains, beautiful flowers to restaurants and chai spots. There is something for everyone, but let me tell you most items will cost you a pretty penny here. It is an amazing photo op area for any budding or professional. If you’re in Sedona and have the time it’s must stop at-least once. I highly recommend d checking out the chapel. While small it is beautiful.
When your in Sedona, it's a must visit!! Beautiful architecture, outdoors with trees abound. A great time is fall, leaves are changing to fall colors, 60 degree weather under sunny and partly cloudy days. Several shops and a couple good places to eat in this center. I ate at Oak Creek Brewery and Grill when I visited, which was absolutely wonderful. I walked leisurely throughout the center and popped in a few of the art shops, rug stores;etc. Even on a Wednesday it was busy with people visiting and shopping from all over the world. A great experience.
Dude this place is awesome, if your a video gamer and love the experience of exploring those cool artsy districts this is totally the place to visit I love how the architecture here is "intimate" and different, it was raining outside when I visited too which totally added this wonderful relaxing moody vibe There's definitely plenty of places to visit here as well, a few places to eat also. Id say if your looking for a romantic spot to hang out then this is a great place. It is very walkable which is always a plus for sure! I visited the spirits place and ended up spending a good amount of cash but, the drinks are very unique and the staff is very awesome!
Very unique and beautiful buildings to walk around and enjoy the Mexican architecture here. Love the flute musician playing by the secret garden cafe. There was a newly opened underpass connecting the North and South mall, it was a nice short walk by the water.
This is a beautiful shopping center! I loved the architecture and gardens. There were so many things to see. Most of the shops were too expensive for me but they were happy to have you just look around.
I was pleasantly surprised—Tlaquepaque doesn’t feel like a mall, it feels like stepping into a charming Mexican courtyard. With cobblestone walkways, vine-covered walls, fountains, and shaded courtyards, it’s serene, beautiful, and unforgettable. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🛍 Shops & Galleries The selection is amazing. From jewelry and blown glass to fine art, pottery, and textiles, every shop feels unique and carefully curated. This isn’t about souvenirs—it’s about discovering authentic, meaningful pieces. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🖼 Atmosphere & Design The setting is what makes this place special. Serene courtyards, trickling fountains, adobe-style architecture, and sycamore-shaded walkways make you slow down and enjoy. It’s peaceful yet lively, the perfect balance. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🍴 Food, Tea & Drinks I enjoyed food, tea, and drinks here, and it all matched the atmosphere perfectly. From El Rincón’s authentic plates to The Chai Spot’s cozy tea lounge, dining feels like part of the cultural experience. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🤝 Staff & Service The people here really add to it—friendly, polite, and knowledgeable staff in both the shops and restaurants. They treat you warmly without being pushy, which makes the visit even better. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🚗 Parking The only weak spot. While parking is free, it’s limited and fills up fast during busy hours. There are overflow lots (like across at Tlaquepaque North), but you’ll likely need patience and a short walk. Rating: ⭐⭐ ✅ Overall: Tlaquepaque is one of Sedona’s true gems—a place that combines authentic Mexican courtyard charm, outstanding shops, serene beauty, great food, and welcoming staff. Parking is the only challenge, but once you’re inside, it’s pure magic.
We loved exploring here! It’s so unique and immersive. We had fun exploring all the little shops and stopping for a chai. Definitely recommend.

Come 2x per year..A gorgeous place to hike for all fitness levels. $12 per vehicle or $3 per petson to enter. Gate opens at 0700. Parking lot IS limited, so early arrival is best. If no spots available, parking on side road is allowed & walk in about a 1/2 mile to gate. 4 Bathrooms at TH are clean.
Absolutely one of the most beautiful hikes you can take in Sedona. While most people only venture a mile or so in, the canyon really gets more beautiful the further you go back (and more peaceful!). Between the creek that you cross several times, the towering cliffs, and the lush trees and ground cover you really can't ask for more. Take a lunch and go back 3-4 miles and you will have the place to yourself. Take time to sit down and take in your surroundings as the canyon is overwhelming. My favorite time of year is fall and time of day is mid to late afternoon. That time of day really allows you to take in the beautiful colors of the surrounding cliffs as the sunlight sneaks away. Make sure to wear good shoes and be prepared to fall in love with this place. I would give this trail 5 stars but the $11 fee to park is a little high in my opinion and your regular red Rock passes that everyone stops and buys in town do not work there. Also the fact that they only accept cash is a little inconvenient as there is now where close to go and get it if you forget. So make sure you have money before you take the drive up. Plan in spending at least a few hours and make sure to look around, as there are hidden ruins and things to see everywhere you look!!
Absolutely gorgeous and easy hike. Very family friendly with amazing views to take awesome family photos. There are restrooms and parking at the entrance. The trail is 3.3mi one way and has 13 stream crossings.
Parking is cash only, so be prepared! A stunning hike once you get farther from the start and the road. It can be crowded at the beginning. When theres water, its a fun place to find slide rocks and get your feet wet! There is plenty of shade to keep cool in, and though certain river crossings can be more precarious, kids would be fine. Be prepared to pet some adventure doggos too! An awesome hike if youre looking for something a little more shaded than cathedral rock.
Unfortunately we missed the fall color by two weeks but this was still an amazing lil adventurous hike . Suggestion get to trailhead early. This place gets packed and no other place to really park around other than parking lot. Also you may get wet at one of the many water crossings
Stayed in Sedona for 2 weeks. Hiked many trails, this being my favorite. Easy casual walking, lots of shade from vegetation. Historical architectural ruins along the path. Take a walk in the creek, sit on the rocks, and be present with the ravens, singing birds, butterflies, dragon flies, and little fish swimming at your feet. Locals hiking around me verbalized Fort Creek Trail was their favorite too.
Excellent place to hike, beautiful scenery and very calming atmosphere. People are friendly and helpful when you’re unsure as to how much further you have to go. Highly recommended for the photo opportunities and for a place to bring your significant other.
Absolutely gorgeous hike! Be prepared to cross the creek numerous times. My watch showed 7.33 miles round trip.

Did the stargazing yesterday. This was my favorite thing that I did while visiting Sedona. Thoroughly enjoyed getting to listen to Dr Schaffer’s Insights and learned a lot. Highly recommended. Book this.
Very well organized. The astronomers were knowledgeable and helpful..but it you had a picture in mind of the sky filled with stars then thisay not be it. One reason was also there was full moon. The astronomers said that it has to be a lot darker to enjoy that. We went in December. Be prepared for extreme cold temperatures
The photos on the website do not portray what you will see. I have a telescope at home and I stargaze on my own time but I was hoping this would show me something I couldn't see with my own telescope at home but that was not the case. I was hoping for actual surface views of the planets. But, the sky view is amazing in Arizona, the telescopes on sight are great quality and you also get binoculars to view other things in the sky while you wait to view the telescope images. They also provide blankets and chairs and that is a great amenity especially for a chilly night. I did learn a lot and did learn how to locate certain star clusters and the milky way so that when I gaze at home I can find them without digital telescope help bc I do not have a digital scope. The astronomers are wonderful and informative and answer any questions. I think the advertisement on the website should be altered to show ppl what you will actually see. Overall I was disappointed in parts of the viewing experience for the price but I was satisfied with the concept and knowledge that I am able to take home. This is definitely for city folk who don't have star viewing at home, if you are a city dweller with no dark sky knowledge or the ability to see dark sky this would be a good experience.
Did not deliver what was promised. We paid for two private tours and we were promised two astronomer guides. We got one person who was anything but an astronomer. What they delivered was not worth the price paid. We paid $100+ per person and we didn’t feel valued as customers. On a cold Sedona night this company offered nothing to comfort their guests. Even our astronomy club offers hot cocoa to guests at their free monthly stargazing nights. The best part about the evening was looking at the amazing Sedona sky with the naked eye.
Beautiful skyvure from the capsule, very cool experience:). Might be slightly overpriced, since amenities are shared. Dan and Cathy are lovely

Beautiful trail. Bring plenty of water! Turn off to Subway Cave is ~2miles in. See my review for the Subway Cave for detailed instructions. Come early, y’all. Parking fills up quickly. It’s $5 (as of 2025) to park for the day. Trail is easy to moderate. Views are fabulous. Bring 2-4L of water!
Gorgeous place and a great hike! Taking off a star because of way too many people around, which unfortunately, inevitably means at least some inconsiderate people. That also means that it would be hard for anyone seeking solitude to fully enjoy this hike. But then again, anyone considering this hike should already know it is a very popular hike which draws a lot of people. All of that aside, it really is a hike that shouldn't be missed!
Excellent hiking trails. This is an out and back trail with one side trail. Side trail is a must. Can be abit long if its a hot day. There is lots of tree cover in the seccond half of the trail. The end is very nice.
Absolutely fantastic hike! The walk itself is really pleasant — you wander through a tiny forest on a well-maintained, comfortable path, surrounded by stunning canyons on all sides. It feels like you’re walking through a hidden valley, enjoying the beauty of the red rocks from different angles as you go. The highlight, of course, is the Subway Cave. The short climb up is a bit tricky, but absolutely worth it — the view and the atmosphere inside are breathtaking. Honestly, it’s hard to put into words how beautiful it is. Definitely the best hike I’ve done in Sedona!
The Boynton canyon vortex is absolutely beautiful. The views are fantastic, and notes very peaceful. We got there at about 8:30 on a Tuesday (Verteran's Day), but the parking log was full, but we parked about a half mile down the road. I'd say the difficulty is moderate - the trail is easy but it turns into a bit of a scamble to get up to the vortex.
We hiked this trail to find the Subway Cave, saw some mule deers along the trail. It was easy for about 2 over miles until the entrance to the cave. The steep climb up to the cave requires scrambling and was a little nerve wrecking. There was a less steep trail on the left side of the cave that many people used as well. But once you get up from there, you would need to walk along narrow rock edge to get around to get the view of the subway cave.
Somewhat of a nature walk, off the Enchantment, into the canyon. Lots of bugs in June and if you are the first to head toward the subway cave, you'll also be the first to clear the spiderwebs created the night prior. All is worth it, and the influencers may thank you. Epic views with magical properties await.
First time in Sedona. We were short on time so we came here for a quick hike. Small parking lot that requires small fee so we parked on road where so many others were parked. Walked to the parking area where the trail started. There was a big sign showing trail system. We chose an out and back. The only thing at the parking area was a single unisex bathroom. Not a flushing toilet. Smell was horrible. So bad. No ranger or park employee. Kind of like a self serve. The trail we chose was very easy and no difficulty. It took us through the valley floor with the rock formations all around us. So incredible. A no frills area with million dollar views! Just outside the city limits of Sedona.

Archaeological site in a red sandstone canyon, home to ancient cliff dwellings with pictographs.
Slide 1 of 8
Palatki Heritage Site: an archaeological site. One of the largest cliffs dwelling with plenty of pictograph and sacred artifacts. It’s a tour that needs to book for $1. The road to the site is bumpy, we to drove high clearance vehicles to get to the place. I think regular cars are doable but need to dive slow. The volunteers are very knowledgeable, kind and friendly.
Awesome!! Worth the trek!! It's a bit of a hike. They say it's about 60 steps. It's pretty uneven and could be difficult for some. However, we had a 78 year old who is not very active who made it fine. Not easy but not too difficult. A must see while you visit Sedona. Amazing views. Amazing heritage. The Visitors Center has excellent displays and historical information. Park Rangers are very knowledgeable , friendly, and very nice. The only complaint is that it feels a bit rushed as they release tour groups every 30 minutes. I wanted to spend more time but felt a little rushed. However, it's probably necessary due to the number of tourists. Groups are limited in size. Ours had 6. You must make reservations, but it's about controlling the number of people. Very inexpensive. Plenty of parking. We had someone who has the America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass which is all you need for parking. However, in Sept 2025, the cost for parking was $5.00 (without the Pass) and you can pay at the kiosk in the parking lot. Porta-potty type bathroom at the parking lot but not on the hike. If Google tells you it will take an hour, I recommend adding at least 30 minutes. The dirt road is very rough and you must go slow. I would say most cars can make it but not low cars like sports cars. You can rent a jeep in town if you prefer. There are two ways to get there. One has about 6 miles of dirt road (Highway 89A) and the other is around 3 miles (Boynton Pass Rd). Roads and the park may be closed when it rains. Several areas would not be passable if it's raining heavily.
The drive is easy if you take your time, even a sedan can make it as the road is maintained though it has some rough spots. Once there the staff was great, very friendly and full of knowledge about the area. The hikes are short and you don't have to rush and can take your time if needed. There are some rock stairs. The indian art/pictures on the rocks was my favorite part. And the guide took the time to point out most of the drawings and what they were for or ment. Great history here. Enjoyed every minute off it.
Awe-inspiring experience. So grateful we visited. The volunteer guide crew at Palakti Heritage Site were incredible and their passion for the history at this site was inspiring. I found myself completely captivated by the petroglyphs (carvings) and pictographs (paintings) due to the depth of the explanation given by our incredible guide. I had my mom (75 y/o) and her partner (82 y/o), both of who have some functional mobility issues (advanced knee arthritis). They did not make it up to the cliff dwellings due to the uneven steps that were too treacherous for them), but could still see the dwelling from the flat path and the volunteer staff were so welcoming and accommodating to have them sit at the picnic benches or in the visitor center. They did make it up to the grotto site for the petroglyphs and pictographs, which they loved. They were also able to enjoy the scenic awe and pure beauty of the setting surrounded by these huge red rock structures. Give yourself extra time to get there due to wanting to drive slowly on the gravel road. Our guide also said that excess dust from the road erodes the pictographs, so slow it down to preserve the site! Thank you to all the volunteers who made our day special!!
Amazing, beautiful and great docents. Horrible roads though. going in from Sedona is bad, but not as long as going in from Cottonwood. Bought the very expensive tour tickets online ($1 each) easy to buy through the AZ gov website. The docents, were so very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Loved the stories they had. The place is beautiful. Not too strenuous, they have some walking sticks you can borrow which were helpful. Bring some water, it's not a long hike, but there are some areas along the tour that have little to no shade.
Amazing box canyon spent 2.5 hours and could have stayed all day. The folks running the preserve are fantastic. All I needed was a hammock
Worth the drive (probably best to have an SUV or off road vehicle). Our guides were super knowledgeable and offered to let us extend our tour. Last tour starts at 2pm so get there early!
Personalized tour of cliff dwellings and pictographs and petroglyphs. Tour guides are very knowledgeable about the history, with some pictographs dating back 10000 years.
