We saw A Christmas Carol and it was great! The production far exceeded our expectations. We hadn’t seen a show there for many years. This is a definite must do when in Central VA. Note: As a recreation of the original Globe Theater in London from the year 1599, it does not have the most comfortable seating. Get over it and realize that we have become soft.
Have been to see 2 plays. The first time we saw Pride & Prejudice and we loved it. Second time, we saw A Winters Tale, and while I didn't enjoy it as much because of the heavy Shakespeareon dialect, but it was still very good. I did not enjoy that they had draped the outside in anti-American/anti-family flags, and the person at the door was outfitted with nose rings and anti-family pins on her uniform. I would recommend visiting if you have the ability to ignore the extreme Liberal influence.
What a fun place to go see a play! My three high schoolers and I went to Sense and Sensibility this June (2025) and we loved it. We were offered the chance to sit on the stage, which was especially cool, and we loved the live music before the performance and during intermission. This was one of our summer highlights this year.
We had the pleasure of seeing their modern interpretation of Romeo & Juliet! It was AMAZING! A little live music from the cast at the beginning of the show and returning from intermission, so fun! The actors are all first rate in delivering a true to form Shakespeare dialogue, while bringing the dress and characters into modern day. Loved it!!!
Another tour-de-force performance by Angela Ianonne as Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol. We have loved each and every show we have seen at the Blackfriars, but this one-woman show was truly amazing. Sadly, just one performance this year, but I hope the ASC brings her back next year so we can see it again and bring friends!
My husband and I spent the weekend in Staunton, celebrating our anniversary. We love history and the arts so we thought it'd be a good choice, and seeing Julius Caesar performed at this theater was a wonderful addition to our weekend plans. The staff were great and the actors were amazing. They really stay true to the Shakespearean experience and it's something to behold! Everyone did a magnificent job. My only complaint is that we sat in the second row on the second level and there was absolutely no back support. It's just a bench, which can be uncomfortable after 2+ hours. It appeared that the other seats had at least partial backs. Just something to make note of if you're making seat selections. Other than that, terrific!
This is a gorgeous recently renovated theater in Staunton, Virginia. We went to see The Tempest by William Shakespeare on a weekday. The acting was excellent. Bonus points for labeling the gender-neutral bathroom and for the actors telling us their pronouns in the talk back about the show. This was my first time in Staunton and my first time at the theater. We will definitely come back!
love it love it love it!!! saw the preview of the TEMPEST and it was amazing!!!! definitely go see a show when you are in town. staunton va was such a pleasant surprise! amazing theater and cast. a must do

Brilliant. We hired the golf buggie for $25 to speed us up as we were on a long drive after, it was brilliant and a great way to get around the museum as its 2 miles to walk it. All staff so engaging and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed and highly recommend. The houses are really great and it was very interesting.
A great place to go, we were very pleased. The staff were informative and nice, the exhibits were interesting, and everything appeared well maintained. For the price this is a very good deal. Plus water bottles are priced reasonably and there are fountains throughout the site. Be prepared to walk alot and have at least 2 hours to walk through the entire site. When we were there construction was occurring for additional buildings. This did not disrupt the experience once we entered the site.
This is the sister Museum to Colonial Williamsburg! I have not yet been to Colonial Williamsburg - so I'm not sure if it is similar or just related- but The Frontier Museum is AMAZING! You literally walk or drive a golf cart (for rent, $25 I think) through history of American Imigrant history! Live character actors, for lack of a better term. The black Smith is literally a student studying to be a blacksmith! He had an answer for every question we could come up with! The German house was staffed by a wonderful young girl who was born in America but raised in Germany - she could speak German fluently and legit knew all the history! We worked with flax and learned how it is cleaned and brushed and spun into thread at the Irish house. There was ALOT of walking - but it was an awesome experience! Highly recommend!!! I was told they do special days where they will sheer sheep live, spin wool, milk cows, churn butter .. unfortunately, we were not there during a special event but even on a regular weekday in November - even my kids loved the Frontier museum! I can not say enough good things about this place and I will most definitely visit again! Also, I was told sometimes the character actors or demonstrators from Williamsburg come to thw Frontier Museum for special events!
So beautifully laid out. Every person we encountered was cheerful and SO knowledgeable! You could tell they took real joy in telling us about the history. We loved our visit so much!
Lots of history to learn about here. It made you feel like you were traveling from Africa to England to Italy and more. The exhibits were awesome. There is alot of walking so I recommend renting the golf cart as we did. The staff and "Characters" dressed as though they were from the time period were knowledgeable and answered my many questions.
Interesting place. Houses representing Europe one direction, representing US the other. West Africa on one end and a black church on the other end. Shuttles to the European side were very nice. Since the American side was not a loop and more hilly, wish there had been shuttles there. Drivers were very nice. Worth the money. More info on differences between Indigenous nations/tribes needed. All Eastern tribes were lumped together and that misrepresents them.
My family and I loved this experience. It's roughly a two mile walk, there are plenty of places to take breaks and sit down. There are golf cart shuttles and or you can rent a golf cart if walking is not possible. Each section is very informative, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be returning!
Great place to learn about frontier culture and early American history. Guides are knowledgeable and friendly and exhibits are fun! Recommend going when it’s not super hot outside for the best experience, as you’ll do a lot of walking.

It was not a very busy day so the fact that we had to circle the block to find the parking lot and I was a bit winded by the walk up the stairs to the entrance was part of the experience. I wish I had spent more time in the museum. The WWI exhibition in the basement was well done. Especially since I had just seen All Quiet on the Western Front. See the house he was born in as it was in the 1850’s was fascinating.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Very informative exhibits for both World War 1 and Wilson’s life. Worth the little side tour of his birthplace.
I loved the little group of buildings that made up this museum. The grounds were nicely maintained and the gift shop had some very nice items. There are 3 floors in the house where Wilson was born and all but the top floor was accessible for wheelchair users.
Very nicely-curated museum and historical birthplace of President Wilson. Guided tours offered about every 90 minutes included with admission. About $20 per person, with some discounts for seniors, students, etc.
We loved our little tour of the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Museum! What a man he was. The collection of historical items was very interesting. Most especially the Pierce Arrow limo. Also the WWI trench exhibit was very poignant and fascinating.
My husband and I are very interested in history and we made a special trip to Woodrow Wilson's presidential library and his childhood home. We had a great docent who knew a lot of period and family. Even the gift shop was great! There was a wonderful employee there who also informed us of other historical information. She was very charming. Probably spent too much money there, but we bought some unique Christmas gifts. Highly recommend!
Nice museum. It's not very big which was nice. Great WWI display and tour.
Your admission price gets you into the Woodrow Wilson Museum and a guided tour of the house his family lived when he was born. Parking is free. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Our guide was Linda, fun and personable. If you enjoy going through old houses, you will enjoy this.

It is the most beautiful duck pond I have ever seen. The swans are beautiful. There is an Exon almost in front of the park where you can buy bags of food for $1. For the fish there are dispensing machines for $0.25. It is a super large park for walking, relaxing, it has an exercise area, a small stream and a small train station for children.
Great park with activities for everyone. Dog park, pool, train for the kids, picnic tables, duck pond, and so much more. **Bring your quarters if you want to feed the wildlife, they have feeding stations dispensers around the pond area.
Very NICE family friendly park for any age group! Great area to walk, walk a dog, exercise, or sit and watch the fish, and even feed the fish etc. Peaceful area. We love their train! The staff for the train are just super friendly and sweet! A nice lady took our picture. We have so much FUN!
My daughter and me love taking my granddaughter over there to experience all the park goes
Fun pool with slide $3 per person cute park, pond, playground and train to ride for the littles.
Beautiful park around a lake with many small shelters to rent for birthday parties and well maintained bathrooms and playgrounds. Google maps needs updating as it led me to a closed access road. The park could use a little more signage directing to various shelters from back entrance.
We had a lot of fun! Google maps didn't take us close to this playground though, so be careful. We had to search around for it. It took us in to the dog park/skate park area, but this playground is in a completely different entrance. Look for the big lake with ducks and geese (you can see the Royal gas station) and then look up on the hill above the fitness area. That's where you'll find the playground next to a large building. There was a winter bathroom open which was great. The toilets don't have seats though, so if you have any mobility difficulties, you'll want to use a bathroom elsewhere.
The park is very nice for walking, exercising, family and friends gatherings. I especially like the park in the fall. I've never been here in the summer or winter, but I see that there's a swimming pool and an event pavilion in the park.

Fantastic relic of history and faith in Downtown Staunton!! Love the brochure and detail inside and graveyard! A must visit
Stuart Hall School's 2023 graduation ceremony was held in this church on a Friday evening. Our daughter was one of the graduates. It was a grand and memorable affair, & particularly the atmosphere elevated the overall experience. The church is historic and stunning both inside and out. I've visited cathedrals in Europe, and this church is on par in its beauty. I hope to attend a religious service in the future.
Thanks to a tip from a local we chatted with while visiting Downtown Staunton, we came here to look at the Tiffany stained glass windows from the outside. It was a Sunday and services were just ending and a few members of the congregation who saw us invited us inside the chapel to see them up close. It is a gorgeous church and I wish we’d known earlier as we would’ve come here to attend Sunday services at 8:00 or 10:15 AM. During weekdays, the church is open from 1:00 - 4:00 PM (M-F) for visitors.
Very nice place to visit... great gardens, historic cemetary and the architecture of the building is amazing 🙂
This is a nice church with beautiful Stainglass.
Don't miss this gem with Tiffany windows, a locally built pipe organ, gorgeous architecture, a historic cemetery, and friendly members.
This is more than just a beautiful, historical church. It's also a place that actively feeds and clothes the underprivileged regularly, offering all kinds of support. The volunteers that dedicate their time, love, and compassion to the people in this community are absolutely fantastic. There is also a playground behind the church that is a very safe and quiet place. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Unbelievable and must see to appreciate. You’ll find this in downtown Staunton, VA.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this gem of a museum. The museum's collection is incredibly impressive and the history behind the cameras, prints, and priceless daguerreotypes is so fascinating. The collection of miniatures was among my favorite to view. This beautiful collection and history is a must see and well worth a visit. ☺️
A wonderful walkthrough of camera history. We had an excellent discussion with the owner, David, who is deeply knowledgeable from both his life experiences in the industry and from curating this staggering and magnificent collection of historical cameras. It's well worth your time to visit for an hour or more.
Very unique and a must-see museum to visit in Staunton! Features cameras from all historical periods and brands, very informative about their use and photo processing. Owner was helpful and nice. Only thing I would say is that the exibits are a tad difficult to follow, but it isn't necessary since you don't have to follow in order and owner is there to help! Price is very reasonable and recommend donating!
With only 20% of the museums collection you still get to experience so much history in this amazing place, the history of cameras throughout many significant events in American, Virginia history and the world! Take the curated experience when you come! You can tell the passion this man has for preserving and enlightening anyone interested in photography and the history of photography, worth it a must when visiting! They accept donations and are looking to expand!
Amazing museum, featuring one of kind cameras from history’s biggest moments. This is a must see for any history or camera lover. Dave is truly one of the most knowledgeable historians of cameras. I’m glad I finally got to check the museum out. I choose to do the self guided tour so I could go back and listen to the information over again. I ended up spending hour and a half maybe longer in the museum but allow yourself more time cause this museum is 50+ years of hard work and dedication to the preservation of one of greatest art forms ever created. I wish I could’ve stayed longer! If you can donate to this non profit and help them secure a new bigger location which will hold even more history! Thank you again everything!
My visit to The Camera Heritage Museum was a camer-awesome! The sheer amount of history within this little place is incredible. The curator was a very kind, interesting man as well. He gave us great context that really fleshed out what it was we were looking at. A picture is worth a thousand words, but being there in person is another experience all together. Definitely go and visit!
This is a fantastic visit and if you're interested in cameras, photography, or even just history it's well worth a visit to Staunton just for this museum. A truly unique collection; I highly recommend the curator tour.
My partner & I visited the Camera Museum back in July and agreed it was a highlight of our stay. We were so glad that we asked the owner to give us a guided tour as we only would have had a fraction of the context and details without his guidance. We came away with a much better understanding of the history of photography and a greater appreciation for the technology of cameras. I disagree with the customer who did not like the questioning part of the tour. I found it kept me engaged and helped me to track the history. Delightful time!

Beautiful small town, we took the trolley for $0.25. We walked around downtown and ate at the Clocktower restaurant, on Wednesdays you have wings for $0.50 and happy hour starting at 3.00pm. You cannot leave without visiting St Francis of Assisi Catholic, it is beautiful, you also cannot miss the ground of Mary Baldwin University, The Wharf where there are a variety of restaurants. It is a very beautiful and cozy town
We passed through Staunton on a road trip and were delighted to visit such a nice historic district. Beverly street has a section blocked off for pedestrians allowing easy access to the many restaurants and shops. To our regret we could only visit for a limited time. Definitely an enjoyable place to visit.
Shout out to Karen! She is a great representative of this lovely town. Karen is so kind & knowledgeable about Staunton and truly wants guests to have a unique and awesome experience. We went back to see her and let her know how much we enjoyed our stay. Will return again and again & hope to see Karen’s smiling face when we do!
Lovely lady at the desk was super chatty and knowledgeable about the local shops.
It's a wonderful historical place. Nice place.
The lady we dealt with was delightful and very helpful. Lots of great idea for our visit
We were lucky enough to join the Trolley Tour and learn more of Staunton's historical context. Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a good job pointing out specifics while offering an inclusive sense of the town's history (e.g. the content went beyond white history to speak to black experience). We stopped at a beautiful church (Trinity Episcopalian) with fine carvings and stained glass. My only complaint was the price: $20.00 per person felt exorbitant, but we learned a lot and enjoyed the A/C respite on a hot July day.
What amazing people! Gloria and a gentlemen who I didn't get his name were amazing! You can definitely tell they love Staunton... and we do too!

I had a wonderful, safe ride with my 6 and 9-year-old grandchildren. We really enjoyed the beautiful, mellow terrain with gorgeous butterfly birds and four deer. Our all-time favorite was riding through the water. We couldn't have asked for a better guide than Ms. Riley! We rate our adventure 5 stars and will make this an annual summer break excursion going forward! Thank you, "Star B Stables"!
Very well managed and taken care of establishment. The horses looked to be well trained and looked after. The trail was simple, but accomplished what we were looking for. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If we are back that way again, would definitely return to Star B.
Was able to call the day of and fit in a ride. Ride was truly 1hr (came ~5 minutes early for instructions). Easy to mount and horses only walk. Beginner friendly and horses are very well behaved. Very pretty trail, especially around fall. I appreciate that helmets are provided if you wish. Overall, had a great time and looking forward to returning :)
What a great experience! First time for my husband and I and it exceeded our expectation. Friendly and helpful staff and the horses were beautiful and beginner friendly.
Had so much fun trail riding here! It was really easy to call and book and easy to find on Apple Maps even with bridge construction on Barterbrook. The horses were super friendly and it was a very calm and peaceful ride. The horse I had George was very funny and kept giving the horse behind me the stink eye but he was great at following the line. Just take note they take cash/check only! Would return next time I come to Staunton.
Riding the trail was easy and smooth. I got to ride George. He was wonderful. This was a great time had by all, and the instructor was very kind. He stayed after and answered all questions we had. The horses are very cared for. The pricing is very fair. I'd definitely go again.
Had a wonderful time with my 3 children! (8,10, and 12)The trail guide was great! The horses were all so sweet! We can’t wait to go back. Hopefully I’ll get my same horse, “velvet”. 😀 Definitely recommend for all abilities. This was only my kids 2nd time on a horse and they didn’t have trouble.
A really nice place to go on a trail ride. We had a girls trip and you get to go up and down a hill like mountain and cross river/ creek twice. And the price is reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Don't miss the Saturday morning walking tour to start your visit in Staunton -- I did the tour on 8/26 with a knowledgeable and interesting tour guide who provided a great overview and ideas of further points of interest I visited later in the week. Highly recommend!
Interesting exhibits, often about local history, but also art exhibits. Historic Staunton Foundation has a workroom with resources where residents can research history of local architecture and properties (by appointment). A lovely garden in the back, great for sitting with your coffee.
A great bistoric facility, saved from the wrecking ball and used for three galleries and offices for several non profits. The art and other exhibits are well worth a visit.
Excellent facility. Not wheelchair friendly, but beautiful place. Good gallery and changing exhibits. Great resource for local history.
This was the second art gallery we'd visited that day and it was my favorite. I love that they had more options and artists to admire and even small prints of the art for sale!
A nice secluded spot near the Bakery and other shops.
Had coffee in the garden with ftiends...it was lovely.

I came here with a group of boys from a residential treatment facility here in staunton. Mr. Bryan, the owner, was kind, courteous, patient, and SO informative for all of our kiddos! They had an absolute blast talking about the cars and getting to hear the engine on one of them! They are already asking if they can come back another time to see the cars again. This was such a great treat and proves to show how great of a community member Bryan and his employees at the Bruce A Elder dealership are!
Loved it. Great place to spend looking at old cars
Do yourself a favor and take the tour. Brian is absolutely awesome and extremely knowledgeable. My wife could honestly careless about cars, however with Brian’s vast knowledge of not only vintage vehicles but local history and the building , she was engaged and entertained. His storytelling abilities are superb and he listened to and responded to our particular interests. This was such a special afternoon. Time well spent.
Great spot to shop for, or just gaze at, classic cars. Staff is very knowledgeable, and will take the time to talk to you about any of the available cars. Highly recommended for the car enthusiast
Not a huge collection but interesting. You're likely to see some cars you've never seen before. It's not the Petersen but Brian provided a guided tour and many automotive facts, both local and industry related. Well worth $5 and an hour of your time.
Seller of very nice vehicles. Owner is happy to explain and answer questions. Wish I had more money to buy some of the nice stuff he has. Inventory is always changing.
Thought it was a museum but it's actually an antique car dealership in an antique Ford garage. Brian the owner is very friendly and welcomed us to browse. He's got some great antique cars he sells on consighnment.
If you’re a car and/or history nut and you’re in the area this is a must-visit tour. I accidentally found this place while walking around Staunton. Bruce gave us a wonderful tour, full of great trivia and history.

I love our local library! The kids' area is amazing—there’s a play area where my 4-year-old can play and interact with other kids while my 9-year-old can browse the books. It’s such a great balance! Plus, the staff is always so friendly and helpful. It’s definitely one of our favorite places to visit.
A good library, fairly well stocked and with the latest technology. If I have a complaint, it's common. As most readers are women, the stock reflects that, and caters to it. Completely understandable and the right thing to do, but difficult if you are looking for books that cater more to men. I was looking for certain particular books by Jon Clinch, Pete Dexter and Dennis Lehane and would have to do an inter-library loan. Easy enough, but I wish they were on the shelf.
Very professional staff that will always greet you with a smile and welcome and good bye take care enjoy the rest of your day when you leave who actually care and want to make sure your question is answered and whatever help you may have needed your help and they will go above and beyond to do so ... In layman's terms they simply the best ...
The staff here are some of the nicest people I’ve met in Staunton. The library does double as the local homeless populations hub and can smell bad.
This library has a lot to offer. Great handouts and materials for you to take on their services and programs. Several newspapers to read daily, quiet reading room, self check out, and quick internet computers if you have to use a computer fast.
Very nice library. The ladies who assisted me were very kind and helpful.
Easy to navigate, and the librarians are always friendly and helpful!
I adore the Staunton Public Library. It's my second home!

We were here to play a round of disc golf and thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was a good mix of wooded and open holes, was well kept, and with multiple basket placements was challenging enough for those with some experience but approachable for those earlier into their disc golf enjoyment. Definitely a course we will be back to when we are in the area.
Lots of great walking trails with heaps of wildflowers. It was refreshing to see so many people walking their dogs and not seeing any dog poop anywhere in the park.
Great spot for a shady picnic, running up and down the hill, and nature play. Playground is great for bigger kids, but younger kids did better in the shaded nature playground/story walk area. Sand pit there has some trucks and pots and pans. A little run down/well-loved, but it’s outside and to be expected.
Beautiful, clean, safe Three story playground with three huge slides, tire swing, several rope climbing options, pool, swing set, sandbox, balance obstacles, rock climbing wall... picnic bench, merry-go-round, monkey bars, educational and creative play-set area for younger children... it was a beautiful time here.
This is a fantastic park that has both a traditional playground and a natural playground. There are several grassy areas with beautiful trees. There is a disc golf course, pavilions at the top with grassy areas and trees, and a few lovely hiking trails. Just make sure you pay attention to the trail map as it is easy to get lost.
Very nice park I was in the White House so everything was in there kitchen bathroom, big area that the reunion will be back next year. Thank you guys.
Great park with lots to do, it's not as crowded as gypsy hill and my kids absolutely love the playground.
I bring my son here all the time, really tall play set and a few interactive things. The other natural play area is awesome as well!

Excellent customer service and very clean place, they only serve beers 🍻 and some coolers, they have outdoor seating and indoor. They had a country singer with guitars 🎸 playing, and they enjoyed the entertainment and drinks. They do not have a kitchen to serve food. Restrooms were nice and clean. Croud was nice and friendly. It was easy to find street parking. Price was reasonable for 2 drinks we had.
We were guided to check this place out by a local. She thought they would have something gluten free for me and that they allowed dogs inside. They don't allow dogs inside, for the record. Dogs are allowed outside in the beer garden, which would be fine if it weren't raining. As for gluten free, they make an in house Lemonade Seltzer, but it was definitely much too sweet for my taste. My husband tried one of their IPA's and said it was okay, but morning he would try again. On the upside, the bartender was great, very friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, we're glad that we stopped in to give them a try but wouldn't go back again, even if we lived in the area.
I absolutely loved this place! Great selection of original hand crafted brews. You absolutely must have a flight (or share a couple of flights among friends) to experience the variety they have. The barkeep was friendly and knowledgeable. The warehouse space had a lot of ambiance with hand painted murals on the walls. My favorites from this visit oct 2025: Bowman Nutella S'mores 10% Imperial stout aged six months in bourbon barrels Graham cracker forward (hazelnut & pralines with toasted marshmallow). Bourbon mid pallet. Finish is soft cocoa that ends with a nice high gravity bite. Blue Ridge Breakfast stout 6.5% Milk stout aged on local breakfast blend coffee beans. Aged 10 months on roasted coffee beans. Pronounced coffee nose Soft lactose forward, beautiful smooth coffee mid pallet, no bite finish. Stargazer black IPA with toasted rye 7.8% Rye nose Forward Dark and rich toasted rye flavor Just a hint of bite at the finish. Saison 5% Belgian golden ale lightly spiced with ginger, grains of paradise and citrus peel. Ginger nose. Soft citrus peel forward. Grains of paradise mid palate and soft finish. I love the area, the history and the museums, but I’ll return just to visit Redbeard Brewing. Loved every single brew I tried. The brew meister(s) are true artisans.
Great place! Large indoor area to sit and try all their beers. Staff is super nice and very informative. Talked my wife through a number of there brews and let her try some samples, so she could find one she really liked. They have a beer garden in the back, with some covered seating. Looks like they hold a lot of events. We saw a couple guys playing D&D it looks like they even have D&D nights, which is pretty cool. In the back toward the restrooms they have a few video games, one of my all-time favorites Pole Position 2 which naturally I got the high score! They do have a vending machine that has sodas and sparkling water in a few different type of foods you can purchase. It's a good place, we stopped because we're working on our beer trail passport to get our free shirt which is a great thing to do because it introduces you to a lot of great breweries and wineries. But you definitely need to check them out. Also they did have a food truck located outside on the side of the building.
This is a pretty good brewery. I had 2 flights and I have to say the beer was great! Hoping to be back soon.
It’s been too long since I’ve stopped in but very glad I did. The atmosphere is great and I love the beer garden out back. The guys behind the bar had great presence and personality. You can really tell they enjoy what they do. I felt very welcome and enjoyed the stop. Both beers I tried were really good. I highly recommend you stop here. It’ll become one of your favorites!
Well appointed selection of beers from the lagers to the Belgians and IPAs. I sampled about half the menu and was really impressed by the thought they gave to how they executed their beer styles. Even the saison, which is so often a style that is mistreated or ignored, was fun and yeast phenolic forward. Impressive work and a nice hidden gem (hidden to me at least) of a brewery that delivers great quality in smaller batches.
What a great little find… We were just passing through but one good beard loves another. Beers were exceptional and we took a few home with us. The gentleman behind the bar was friendly and even offered us a couple of quarters for the kids to spend in their OG arcade. A must stopping spot for us from now on. A leg lamp, Dungeons & Draughts night, a bad movie night??? These guys not only offer some amazing choices for the adults beverage connoisseur, but some great entertainment to top it off.

+JMJ Very many fond memories of this Church. The parishioners are welcoming and hospitable. My visits afforded me the opportunity mainly to interact with fellow members of a lay apostolate called the Legion of Mary. Even though I wasn't able to participate in the Holy Mass, I was able to meet the priests at those Legion of Mary meetings. They were always inspiring in their spiritual talks given at meetings. The transcendental beauty of the Church surrounds those who enter into an atmosphere of peace, serenity. Also, there is a side Chapel devoted to private prayer and a visit with Jesus truly present in the Holy Sacrament of the Alta. If in the area, a visit paid, will be a visit full of blessings. This church is a beautiful building that reminds me of European churches as it is ornate with stained glass windows, blue ceiling arches and an array of statues. I especially like the Stations of the Cross. When I was there, Mass was packed, and the pews are comfortable. The Priest delivered a thoughtful sermon and greeted people as they left the building. One surprise was during Communion, parishoners knelt at the altar and the altar boy held a paton for those who wanted to receive in that way, like in the old days. I, however, stood to receive the sacrament as my knees are wobbly. The Priest did not object. I look forward to going back some day.
Beautiful church with a visiting priest that took his own time to meet with me when he could have been doing other things. Also has a Marian prayer garden and beautiful grounds.
Great traditional catholic church!
Beautiful old church we found during our walking tour. Loved the architecture.
Absolutely beautiful old church in downtown Staunton.
Beautiful church. More traditional Mass. Parking can be difficult, but there is plenty of on street parking in front. The new renovation made such a noticable difference. Friendly staff and parish. Easter service is simply STUNNING!!
Wonderful place to attend on Sunday's

I love going to this park its so unique. Its a single almost untouched mountain top surrounded by the town. At this point you definitely need a higher clearance vehicle to get to the top. You can hike or bike up but there but parking is really for the residents that live around the bottom. I would not take a regular car up there. Mornings and sunsets are beautiful and youre still in town but with a wonderful view.
I wanted to love this trail but honestly it kind of freaked me out. I took my two kids up to explore but the drive was a little sketchy (even in my SUV). There's parking up at the top but the road is up and back, no loop, so passing cars on the way up/back down is terrifying. The view was very pretty.
Narrow road , with washout rut running down it that leads to the top, where there are a couple of picnic tables and trash cans . A cut out of timber to see a view in two different locations- view is eastward and southern . Nothing extraordinary, nothing to worth making a special trip for or bucket list. Although it's very good that least this area has been PROTECTED from development. As the entire lower perimeter around the little mountains/ big hills have been. If it had an observation deck above the trees , you would get a 360° view of the valley and mountain ranges on the Westside and Eastside , along with valley floor mountains like Massanutten mountain. Toilet facilities are needed , imagine having a picnic without , reminiscent of the the Roadside Tables of the 1940s to early 60s that once existed along all the US highway system. The surrounding woods was the bathroom, watch your step !
This place would be hard to find. If it didn't show up on Google, I wouldn't even know it existed. The signs are no joke. It was quite a rough two track up to the summit, low clearance cars be careful. Though it is a single lane road up there, there are places to pull off to allow others by, so keep an eye down the road. Though Google maps showed the "road" to be a loop, it only appeared to he a down and back from the parking area. Parking area near the overlook could hold 3 or 4 cars. I think there was a mountain trail starting point up there too. If you aren't up for the bike trail, the overlook is a bit underwhelming, especially trying to peer through the overgrowth.
I would like to give it a better rating but the road is so rough that unless you have a 4x4 you probably shouldn't take it. It's narrow and badly rutted. Once you get to the top it's nice. The observation deck needs to be repaired or replaced. There are picnic bench seating up there as well. You do need to be careful, you are on the top of a mountain and chunks of granite are sticking out of the ground and you could easily stub a toe or twist an ankle. I bet it looks amazing when the leaves are green or even in the fall when the colors change. There's no playground, there are no restrooms, but there is a bit of a picnic area. I assume it is dog friendly, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Beautiful overlook of the area. However the road leading up to this is not for the average car. Would not recommend for any compact car or sedan. Full of ruts and washout. City should definitely look at paving this to make it more accessible.
Nice smaller patch of wild to explore in the middle of Staunton! Some trails on the Mary Gray Park side and the road to the top of Betsy Bell wilderness is pretty cool. Great lookouts at the top to see Staunton from above. I do wish you could see the downtown area better from up there though.
Very nice views from the top, and you can even see all the way to the nearby interstate, but the road up here is definitely a fixer upper. There are a ton of different holes and cracks in the ground. The observation platforms might also need some patching up too.
