Such a phenomenal place here in Staunton. Got such a great bourbon selection and the food is absolutely fabulous. The flat iron was cooked to perfection and those carrots were next level. So Andrea the restaurant manager it seemed came and checked on and we had a great conversation and she seemed to absolutely Love IT here. Amanda the bar tender was super nice and gave great suggestions. Such amazing customer service. Love IT

Ate here for a birthday dinner, great fresh food! Service was on point and friendly. I would encourage a reservation as I saw many guests get told they are fully booked. On a great street with lots of local stores snd restaurants. The soup was delicious, salad was colorful and flavorful. Had local pork for the entree and enjoyed that, it was served with 3 ways. If you’re in Staunton, you must try this place! It’s best to have a reservation but if you don’t mind waiting, you will get a table. We walked in on a Sunday evening and had to wait about 10 mins at the bar. We were seated soon enough and chose to go for the ala carte. They also had a chef’s tasting menu, jfyi. For the appetiser, we had initially only ordered the potato croquettes, but after the first bite, we decided to go ahead and order the beef tartare as well. 😬 The potato croquettes were flavourful and the beef tartare was soooo good. The combination of the beef tartare paired with the dijon mustard, the baguette, and the sweet pepper was divine!! So delicious!! For entrees, we got the slow roasted chicken and the grilled pork loin. Both were yum — the chicken was tender and tasted simple but soulful and the pork was cooked perfectly and paired very well with the peppers and the sauce. It was such a superb meal — honestly, one of the best I’ve had in a while. It is slightly on the pricier side, but the taste, the ingredients and the whole experience just elevates it and makes it worthwhile. To top it all, their service was top notch. Our server, Sarah, was super sweet and recommended some amazing dishes. :) All in all, I loved the whole experience and I hope to drop by again whenever I’m in Staunton. :)

I had an incredible dining experience at Zynodoa. From start to finish, everything was spot on. The apps were outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The drinks were fantastic, creative, and balanced, with just the right amount of kick. My steak was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor, easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. And to top it all off, the service was absolutely top-notch—attentive, friendly, and seamless throughout the evening. This place really nails it on every level. Can’t wait to come back!

We were excited to try Zyndoa after hearing great things and having it recommended by a friend. The menu was a little different than what we saw online, but that was fine since I like when restaurants switch things up. Service was a bit slow, though our server was very kind. We started with the cornbread, which was excellent. The disappointment came with the steak. We ordered it medium, but it was served raw in the center and even undercooked on the end. We were seated outside, and as it got darker, the small table light wasn’t enough to see just how undercooked it was until we held it directly under the light and even used a phone flashlight. We asked to get it cooked longer, but even after being “cooked longer” it was still raw once we checked it again at home under proper lighting. Unfortunately, it was not edible and really took away from the whole meal. It may have just been an off night, but the steak left us let down. We might give it another try someday, but it will be a while before we return.

Our waiter was great! We had a great time! The food was excellent except my NY strip was cold due to point that they sliced it for presentation! It was cooked perfectly, but excruciating cold! I told the waiter it was won't except it was cold. He offered to take it back, but after waiting over 30 minutes for it, I just didn't want to wait! I also didn't like the excuse the waiter gave me! The issue is that it sat in the window too long! No one was monitoring the time once the steak was slice! The window of the temperature of this delicate main course was tempered by the lack of execution! I expected better, but didn't have the patience to wait for a mulligan! I also noticed that most of the dish was cold ! The old hot dish was the corn bread! It was delicious! The oysters and okra is a great combo but some of the oysters were very small. They also forgot our side of Edwards sausage for $8 two links Cooked very normal. Not really impressive but good! I love this place and everyone was great! I did get a constant upscale by the waiter and noticed he tried to under-sale the table next to us! lol! We have had his service before at other establishments! He is wonderful and very knowledgeable! I was just disappointed about the steak! It's just not the standards I expected! My back was away from the kitchen and I don't think anyone was watching the food as it came from the kitchen. Please don’t get me wrong, it was a good experience and we enjoyed our service!

Great Bloody Marys, nice weekend brunch menu including Saturday. Salad was kinda bland, eggs Benedict was excellent, fantastic thick bacon, Hollandaise was slightly below average. Definitely recommend and would come back!

Really good meal and service. We had the duck and lasagna. The side salads were excellent, as was dinner. Starting with homemade bread with an amazing maple walnut butter and ending with complementary peppermint ice cream. Yum!

Everything was amazing, so glad we decided to eat here. Sorry we didn’t get a before pic of the cherry bread pudding, we dug right in. Would definitely recommend.

Tonight's dinner was at Mill Street Grill in Staunton, VA! The lights were a bit dim, so the picture quality isn't the best. The bread is always tasty and is free. It had pumpkin butter on the side. I had one of their specials! I had their barbecued beef ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and collards! They are known for their ribs here and also their prime rib. The sauce was nice and caramelized as advertised and really good. The beef ribs were super tender and delicious! No complaints at all. If you are in the area, swing by! You also get a little free peppermint ice cream for dessert.

Poor quality food. Mediocre service. Overpriced. $138 for two (one shared appetizer, two entrees, one beer). I had shrimp and chicken pesto pasta. The whole meal was swimming in grease and tasteless. I'm pretty sure had I eaten it, it would've passed straight through. Yuck. Mrs H had $50 lamb cutlets that were served cold, and pretty tasteless. They came in some type of brown sauce with vegetables, but swimming in water rather than grease. These meals were on the "specials" menu, so "chef" should've been able to cook these well. I raised the issues, and our server just said "sorry for the food". I'm left with the impression that this place thrives on passing crowds, and little competition in Staunton. I cannot recommend this restaurant That said Taste of India just round the corner is brilliant, and half the price.

Had the burger and was able to swap out the sides and have garlic mashed potatoes instead... I'm very happy about that. Loved the bread - 3 breads in one pot with apple cinnamon butter. The burger was average, but big points because they served it rare like I asked❤️. The booth cushions were super comfy. Our server was just right. Got there at 5pm on a Monday and had no wait, but there were lots of people waiting by the time we finished up.

Traveling through Staunton, pulled in on a Thursday around 6pm. It was super busy but we got seated, no wait. Food and service were 5 star. Bread and ribs next level good. Portion sizes were jumbo.

Excellent service and awesome food. Customer service that is truly rare these days unfortunately! And the complimentary small scoop of peppermint ice cream after your meal is a nice touch.

Byers Street Bistro in downtown Staunton is a local favorite with a strong following, and I can see why on the surface. The location is great—right along a charming street with a relaxed indoor space and a dog-friendly outdoor patio. The staff was welcoming, and the service itself was friendly and attentive. They’re doing a good job on that front. However, for me, the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. I found it average at best—well-presented but lacking in freshness and flavor. Ingredients didn’t feel particularly vibrant, and a few things tasted like they’d been prepped well ahead of time rather than made fresh. Nothing was inedible, but nothing really stood out either. For a place with such a strong reputation, the food felt more like generic pub fare than thoughtfully prepared bistro dishes. I understand that others may have had better experiences—reviews seem to praise dishes like the pork chops, crab dip, and fried green tomatoes—but my visit didn’t hit those marks. With some tweaks to sourcing, prep, or menu execution, I could see this place rising to meet its ambiance and service. 📝 Final Take Great location, warm service, and a laid-back vibe—but the food didn’t feel fresh or distinctive enough to make it memorable for me. I’d return for a drink on the patio or to give it another try, but based on this visit, the kitchen still has some work to do to match the setting.

Looking for good food on a road trip is so hard! So happy I chose this gem! We got a Prime Rib sandwiches w/ fries, an Italians w/ pasta salad, a Tavern burger w/ fries and a build your own pizza. Everything tasted fantastic!! Food tasted fresh and well seasoned! Saved it on my favorites in case we ever drive through again. Service was great! Staff was super friendly.

I truly love this place. Its clean and cute atmosphere. Service is always good. Been here several times. Price is reasonable, food comes out quick. Bathrooms are clean. They have outside, bar and 2nd floor seating. I always get the bacon bluecheese fig burger and their balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts.

On our road trip, we stopped by Staunton. This was the only restaurant open at that time (2pm). We walked in and were seated right away. Our server (Stephanie, I think) was so kind and helpful. Everything was delicious, especially the Steakhouse Burger. My parents who only eat Chinese food LOVED the burger (and they usually do not eat them)! It was very juicy and cooked perfectly. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Melt, which had too much sauce. The brisket, however, was very tender, but the sauce did not do it justice. My side Cole Slaw was very good. The Shrimp Tacos had 3 large pieces of grilled shrimp per taco. Loved the shrimp but not a fan of the actual taco. It was messy to eat and lacked flavor. Good place to stop by for a casual lunch! There is a lot in front of the restaurant and a parking garage nearby.

Great dog friendly patio in this historic town in the Blue Ridge Mountains! We had 3 apps for lunch - sprouts, fried green tomatoes and corn fritters. All nicely done. Kiki gave us great service and found a treat for our pug!

I went with my family, and everything was exquisite! The staff were super kind and extra attentive — I truly recommend this place.

The Shack is the ultimate lowkey date-night flex — that perfect mix of coastal charm and “we totally just stumbled into this amazing spot” energy. The monkfish was unreal — buttery, delicate, and cooked like the chef had a personal vendetta against mediocrity. The salmon crudo? Silky, bright, and almost too pretty to eat (but obviously, you still do). And the pastas — wow. Each bite felt handmade and heartfelt, like someone’s Italian nonna moved to the coast and started experimenting with sea air and vibes. The Shack hits that rare balance of refined and relaxed — dim lighting, killer playlist, and food that’s quietly unforgettable. Absolute must for anyone who likes their date nights a little elevated but still effortlessly cool.

Extraordinary. Worth a detour if you get my drift. Service was impeccable. Kind attention to detail in every way and the very best flavors of the season. An absolute pleasure. The fixed price menu was extremely reasonably priced and the best way to enjoy the experience. Tunes playing were also tasty. An intimate gem.

My husband and I dropped in without a reservation and were lucky to be able to grab a table! The waitress we had was so nice and welcoming and helped us make some decisions food and wine wise. The atmosphere is so charming and cozy and the food and wine was stellar. We loved being able to share our plates and enjoy a little bit of everything. We felt at home while enjoying a higher dining experience. We will definitely be back!

This was our first time visiting since they changed concepts and it did not disappoint. Every single dish was great and some were spectacular. The agnolotti was one of the best pastas I've ever had and I'll dream about the cauliflower. As always, the service was excellent. Can't wait to come back and try out new dishes as the menu changes.

Was so so excited to dine at The Shack since recently moving to the area, and so booked a reservation a little over a month ago for me and my S.O. to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived a few minutes before our reservation time slot, every table inside was full and those with reservations had name cards at their table. Ours was nowhere to be seen, and after checking in, waitstaff told us we could sit on the outdoor porch and we’d be brought inside when a table opened up. This never happened, but we decided, no worries, we’ll enjoy our time outside. Server kindly offered us a glass of wine on the house (which we were very grateful for, but did note it was the cheapest wine on the menu), and when asked if there was a different wine I was wanting to try, I was told they were out of the one I wanted. Again, no worries, the glass offered works great. Food was delicious, but portions were definitely small — we even went to another local restaurant after since the meal left much to be desired. Even our server could tell we were frustrated, because after finishing our pasta tasting, she didn’t offer us another dish or dessert, instead asking if we were ready for the bill. None of these issues are dealbreakers individually, but all together, made it a difficult night. I’ve worked in similar restaurants and completely understand a hectic night with lots of covers, but why accept walk-ins or fill a table that’s been reserved for 5 weeks? So, if you’re wanting to dine at The Shack — no point in making a reservation. You’ll end up sitting on the porch (and getting an email 45 minutes in that your reservation was canceled).

We were a party of 4 and we all had excellent food, perfect service and we enjoyed the entire experience. I am a very critical diner and I was very happy with my meal and how we were treated. The food measures up to the cost and we found the atmosphere very comfortable. I didn't take photos. Too busy eating! Seasonal menu, beautifully prepared. My speckled trout was flawless! If you can afford to go, you should! Casual, comfortable and delicious!

A tiny restaurant with huge flavor — modern Appalachian food with real heart. I had the cornmeal-crusted trout with pickled ramps, and it was perfection. The menu changes constantly, but everything feels seasonal and local. Cozy, creative, and quietly world-class.

Sooooooo creamy, so delicious, not too sweet and just the right amount for dessert. Imo, the pistachio and the espresso biscotti were amazing. :)

So, I had just had a big lunch before I walked by this shop. One look at the flavors and I had to go inside to see it for myself. The decor was like a 50's ice cream parlor. The case had so many amazing fluffy gelato and sorbets flavors to choose from. The staff were friendly enough to let us try as many flavors as it took until we chose the right flavor. I will add this into the rotation of stops when visiting Staunton. Fair prices and amazing flavors!

We seriously love The Split Banana! They’ve got so many fun and tasty flavors—it’s hard to pick just one. Every time we go, we try something new and it never disappoints. Their waffle cones are amazing—super fresh and crispy, and they make everything taste even better. Big fans of the nondairy options too! It’s awesome that they have great choices for everyone, and they actually taste incredible. The outdoor seating is a nice bonus. It’s such a chill spot to hang out, especially on a nice day. If you haven’t been yet, definitely check it out. It’s one of our go-to dessert places!

We were told that we needed to try the ice cream here if we were to stop by Staunton! We visited yesterday and really enjoyed our Split Banana Co. ice cream! I enjoyed a scoop of their Coffee Toffee and Pistachio ice creams!

I've had a lot of ice cream places, but most of them seem to somehow stand out, and split banana is no exception. They had so many deliciously sounding flavors and the person who served us was polite. I would recommend this place to others.

Our visit to Aioli restaurant in downtown Staunton, Virginia off of Main Street, was a wonderfully calm and peaceful dining experience. Something about the atmosphere of this fine dining experience is soothing while also somewhat elegant. I have the parmesan truffle risotto with roasted vegetables why my partner had the pan seared duck breast with butternut squash and sauteed vegetables. We split a side of mushrooms crimini. All of the food was absolutely delicious and the staff was polite and courteous. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation as seating is limited. This restaurant is LGBTQ friendly and welcoming.

Amazing experience! Husband and I had the bacon wrapped quail, bruschetta and the bread with cracked pepper in the olive oil (didn’t get a chance to get photos of the tapas- they didn’t last that long!) he got the filet mignon and I got the special of blackened chicken breast risotto and veggies, all of which were above expectations! What a wonderful way to celebrate our two years of marriage! Will certainly be back again!

Garden salad is wonderful and very fresh Quail is amazing with the cheese Mushroom is loved by everyone But the scollops from seafood paella is not fresh and we almost throw up this is why the 4 stars

If you’re younger, and asian with different hair color, do not come here. DO NOT GO! HUGE WASTE of money!! What separates a restaurant from the rest is the service. EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE!! We have to wait 35 mins. for just salad and soup. Also, if you look at their menu, the food options are very limited. The style, presentation, texture IS NOT MEDDITERANEAN! Do not go! We were here 4/30/24, Sunset time, who ever was scheduled at the front desk and the server, it was a guy, I told him its my husband’s birthday, the 2 tables sitting right next to us left and right had a surprise candle, and he didn’t do this for our table. He even said Happy Birthday to our table right after we paid for the check. Very discriminating as well. The charcuterie board that we ordered and waited for 45 mins. has 4 pieces of crackers, 2 slices of goat cheese, one tiny portion of chutney for $28 not worth it!! Also, the server didn’t even bother to check us in between while we were having dinner while he checks the tables around us. Racist, ageist!! we are young and minority, but we don’t deserve to be treated that way. We are DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE! WORST RESTAURANT IN STAUNTON, VA!!

My husband & I enjoyed our New Year's dinner here recently. Everything from the restaurant itself, to the food & wine list, and service was excellent. With the mixed reviews online regarding poor wait times and service, I was unsure on whether to book, but I am so happy that I did! Service was very personable & fast - everything we ordered came out in appropriate time. I enjoyed the Parmesan Truffle Risotto with roasted vegetables and it was fabulous! The creamy truffle flavor was delicious! Highly recommend. We enjoyed our entire experience and will return with our next visit to Staunton.

Cool spot! Sat at the bar and ordered the crab dib to start. It was pretty good. My boyfriend got steak medallions with mushrooms as a side and said they were fantastic. I got the prime rib and baked potato. Prime rib came out cold but was perfect when they brought it back out. Baked potato is as expected. All in all, great experience!

The place is nice enough and the staff is friendly. Then comes the food…. Basic menu and the waitress has never tried the burger?? Tried the crab dip which came flanked with the crackers found in the Keebler trio box. At least warm up some Nan or Syrian. Order the mushroom and Swiss burger medium since the waitress said it’s pink. Came out grey and dry. At least the Coke was cold.

The food was ok. The service is overall great. One of our drink, mermaid, was super sweet. Our steak was a bit overcooked and dried. The salmon was one of the best parts of our meal. The pecan pie is ok ( per mu partner - i didn't eat it ) Plenty of seat and they do not take reservation.

Food is absolutely delicious and well presented. I had the prime rib and my wife had salmon. Both were excellent. Entrance for older people is difficult if you have trouble with steps.

We were in town for my daughter’s wedding and randomly picked your restaurant. From the greetings we received to the ambiance of the restaurant our dinner was perfect. Sam our waitress made the experience exceptional. She patiently answered a lot of questions about the food, described menu items in a way that made you not want to miss out on them. She was very attentive to our needs of a party of 8 including two toddlers. The food was delicious. Couldn’t have been a more perfect way to start our weekend in Staunton.

The place is appealing with its appearance and the traditional phone ordering method. The service is friendly, but the food is quite average, too greasy. I would definitely recommend improving the coffee. Regular coffee is more like hot water than coffee. Nevertheless, good luck with the family tradition.

We came for the soft serve ice cream and weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is very nostalgic, and the service was friendly. Both the hot fudge sundae and the wrights wheelie hit the spot.

Very cool place! I've never seen a restaurant with phones at the table. Instructions on tables for how to order depending on where you're sitting. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend the club sandwich.

Classic drive in diner. We stopped in for a special treat after a day of exploring. Our milkshakes and freezes were delicious!

We were visiting from out of town and stopped by Wright's Dairy-Rite so glad we did. The food was tasty and affordable, and the service was super friendly. Loved the classic diner vibe too. We'd definitely come back next time we're in Staunton.

Never a disappointment. I visit sometimes when driving from DC to TN. This place is worth the extra time vs a mcds stop. Their version of Big Mac and blizzard is spectacular. Fries are crinkle cut which generally isn’t my fave but they’re still good. They gave my little dog a pup cup of ice cream and she was in heaven.

Wrights Dairy Rite is like a charming glimpse into the past. It's arguably the most kid-friendly and family-oriented restaurant I've ever visited. Everything about it is simply delightful. If you decide to eat in—which I highly suggest—make sure to sit on the left side upon entering. You can place your order directly from a telephone at your table, and it's just the cutest experience! The tastiest dish was the onion rings! Yummy! We will be back.

I’m OBSESSED with this place!! Nu-Beginning serves the most delicious coffee/lattes and hot breakfast you’ll ever have the pleasure of tasting, not to mention their customer service and kindness to the community is outstanding. if you’re looking for a local grocery shop with fresh made baked goods and delicious coffee to feel at home, you’ve found the right place!

I wasn’t a customer of this business, and never will be now. I was outside this business recently and witnessed something really upsetting. A young woman parked in the spot after hours (they were clearly closed) for just a couple of minutes to pick up a pizza from the shop next door. The male business owner came out and began yelling at her for it. She apologized several times and calmly tried to explain she didn’t realize it would be a problem since the business was closed, but he continued to be rude toward her. It was genuinely upsetting to watch, the woman looked visibly shaken. What made it even more unacceptable was that his wife(i’m assuming) stood silently nearby. I understand the importance of parking rules during business hours, but this was not during business hours — and there was absolutely no need to treat someone with such hostility over something so minor. It was disappointing and unsettling to witness a local business treat people in the community this way, and if i’m not mistaken It also looked she was wearing scrubs of some sort, so to treat someone like that who is in the medical field makes it even worse.

Great place to have a nice lunch either alone or with your significant other. Always fantastic service, lovely workers and amazing food. They have live music, organic foods, farm fresh ingredients, tea mixtures, coffees and so much more. Highly recommended.

They have a great variety of beers and wines and also a good selection of sandwiches, appetizers, and cheese/meat boards. The staff are very nice. Will definitely be back. We shared the loaded tots which were absolutely delicious and a ham and butter baguette sandwich which was divine!

Delicious food, great beer/wine/cocktails. One of few places open on Mondays. We were wow’ed by everything we ordered.

A very chic and simple place to pop in for a snack, drink, or a meal. We love coming here before heading to dinner downtown. My personal favorite drink is called the Moped. The cheese boards are also super good and fully customizable. I've only came in the evening and you can usually find a spot to sit. The staff is super helpful in answering questions and friendly when coming and going.

What a fantastic experience! I really enjoyed the atmosphere... ever-so-slightly elevated without being stuffy at all. The space is a rehabbed historical storefront with expertly curated drinks and tasty small plates. My partner and I enjoyed the charcuterie platter, and I’ve included a picture of the menu as we found it last weekend. Gluten-free friendly! And the staff is accommodating and friendly. 10/10, would visit again.

This is a decent home cooking style restaurant with some very good fresh baked breads. Started our meal with the pies, so that we knew we wouldn't be too full. They were well prepared, tasted good, and they have a nice selection to choose from. The burger and sandwich were also nicely constructed with sufficient quantity to make for a very filling meal. The side dishes were pretty good with decent seasoning. The most stand-out part of the meal was the fresh, home-made bread.

We were heading to Cracker Barrel and saw this place on the way in. We’d much rather eat at a local place over a chain. We also love the nostalgia of an older place. We believe it was actually Mrs. Rowe who seated us! 😊 it was 8:00 on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t very busy and I hate to see that! I’m hoping it was just an off day or we missed the rush. Our waitress was a lovely young lady and she did a great job. The food came out quick! Coffee was good and they leave a carafe on the table! I had 1/2 order of creamed beef over toast with a side of grilled hash brown potatoes and my husband had a full order of creamed chip beef over biscuits with a side of fried apples! It was all good but the only reason I’m giving 4 stars is my potatoes were Luke warm and a little dried out like they had been sitting there and just warmed up. The potatoes would have been excellent if they came out hot and fresh! I did mix them in with the gravy and ate them. I forgot to take pictures of the food!

Got tired of fast food on the road trip so stopped at Mrs. Rowe's. It was fast and friendly and delicious. My only reason for less than 5 stars was a limited menu. You can't blame a small place off the beaten path for keeping it small, and I don't know what I was hoping to get but maybe more sandwich options. The reuben sandwich was loaded and made perfectly. Id definitely try again and it is a great alternative to fast food. If I was hungrier I'd try the peach pie, it looked great!

We've been going to Mrs Rowe's for many years, so I figured it's about time I provide my take :) This is a family restaurant that has a story all of its own ( the story is cool, so look it up :) The place has feel unique to the valley, offering traditional favorites, outstanding service and good prices - This particular pic is from my recent birthday, but they offer so much more I didn't get a pic of ( but should ) Want Some Food Suggestions? The club sandwich is a meal in itself, the fries are always crisp and delicious. Like burgers? two words : Mushroom + Swiss burger ( ok, 3 words ;) Huge real beef burger, giant size bun, tasty mushrooms, and a thick slice of real Swiss cheese ... I'm pretty sure the desserts are made on-site with real ingredients and the coffee is so good .. What else can I say? Go there yourself and expect a real slice of local history you can taste :)

I stopped here often years ago when I was in the Staunton, Virginia area. The food was always delicious. Definitely taste like grandma’s cooking. The food here os much better than the chain restaurants. Also the prices are very reasonable it’s about 90 miles from us we will be back. So glad seeing they are still in business.

By & By nails the whole “slow morning done right” vibe. The breakfast bagel sandwich was next-level — soft, chewy, perfectly toasted bagel loaded with melty cheese, fluffy egg, and that savory hit of sausage that just makes everything better. Simple, but done with total precision. The hot latte? Smooth, cozy, and exactly what you want in your hand while people-watching from a sunlit corner. There’s tons of seating too — the kind of place you could hang for hours with a good playlist and pretend you’re writing your next big idea. By & By just gets it — calm, delicious, and effortlessly cool.

My only complaint is about the coffee itself. The latte I ordered completely lacked the rich, silky texture that a well made latte should have. Instead, it tasted more like hot milk with a coffee flavor. As a lifelong latte lover, I was disappointed. If I rate it, I'd give it 2 or 3 out of 10.

Such an awesome spot for coffee and treats. Sandwiches were so yummy and there was such an inviting atmosphere. Love IT I’m editing this because I absolutely love this place. IT definitely embodies the Staunton atmosphere. The staff works to make sure you love your experience. Jada is mixing it up perfectly and super nice. Tessa gives the place an eclectic feel and gives a great smile. Love IT 100% and the owners should be proud of people like Jada and Tessa.

I had breakfast and coffee here 10/10. Best bagel in town and best coffee in town! I’ll be coming back to try there extensive beer menu later :)

This is a cute little café with a great space outside in a little courtyard. The service was excellent and the food was great as they accommodated our gluten-free needs with a smile. Great place for a coffee or a beer stop by you’ll love it.

We stopped in on a Sat morning g in October. We were able to order almost right away at about 8:20am. The young woman taking our order was very pleasant and efficient. We ordered 2 lattes and 3 bagel sandwiches. The barista made our lattes right away and they were brought to our table. They were very delicious. However, it took 40 minutes for us to get our sandwiches! It was not that busy, there were several open tables. We asked several times but we were not given explanation of why it was tsking so long. No offer to refill our cups with coffee, which by then were long empty. I can say that I will not be returning to the By and By.

This is a charming little breakfast spot with a nice staff. The food was very good, but did take about 15-20 minutes to get our food. We might have been there at a busy time. If you’re not in a hurry it’s worth the wait.

Amazing service and atmosphere. The food was mostly delicious. But overseasoning has ruined the taste. Also, I feel like bacon (meat) addings to the seafood soup must be mentioned in menu.

The atmosphere and service are excellent. The food was just not great. The grilled haddock sandwich was saturated in grease, to the point that it was difficult to eat. The crab cake sandwich was good, but the sandwich was soggy. The Tuna was overcooked, and the dish was plain. The appetizers were amazing!

Nice restaurant, friendly staff. Second time visiting. Had the Beverly oysters as an app and they were delicious. Blackened catfish with rice and Potomic tower as main dishes. Catfish was extremely salty and rice was very dry. Shrimp was good, but lobster was chewy. 1 app, 2 main dishes, 2 sodas = $120.

Had lunch here on a busy Monday when a server had called out. We had a party of 6 which included a handicap person so we needed quiet and comfort away from main dining area. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating! Put us in a back room and we of course waited patiently and were given wonderful service and fabulous food! Waitress was friendly and efficient even tho she was in the weeds. We had a delightful lunch and a wonderful visit in a room where we could hear ourselves. Yummy food!

Our waitress was amazing, I can't spell her name but it was a cool Irish name. The raw bar was great, the crab cakes and shrimp were both amazing. But, the real star of the evening was the hand made don't holes, possibly the best donut of my life.

There is absolutely no excuse a nickel sized plastic in the drunk noodle. Food was disappointing. The entrance to this location is in the back and was difficult to locate. The condition of the building is very poor. I am shocked health inspectors and building inspectors are allowing this establishment to stay open. Did not feel safe and we ended up trashing the food. The outside and inside are in poor condition. Do not recommend.

Ubon never disappoints ❤️ This is place is one of my favorite restaurants in Staunton and I recommend it to people all the time. The food is absolutely delicious and Ubon, the owner/chef and her husband are so nice. They make my favorite pad thai, I am typically a noodle person but their rice items are good too! We went today for the Thanksgiving Buffet since we celebrated with family on Sunday and it was the BEST turkey I have ever had. Seriously, I will come back every year for as long as I am able so I can keep eating that turkey. I have also recently discovered I am allergic to gluten and this place is very safe to eat at. She said that she makes sure to have as much variety as possible for gluten free customers because they visit just for that reason. Eating here feels like eating at your friend’s family’s house :)

The food here is delicious! I got the: #24. Red or Green Curry: Bamboo, onions, coconut cream & Basil. I got it with the green curry with tofu. I requested for the gentleman make it SUPER SPICY for me, and he did just that. The #10. Pad Thai: rice noodles w/egg, green onion, ground peanuts, & sprouts is one of their popular dishes here. I had it years ago, and it was very good. They also have a food truck that is located downtown, in the parking lot of the Staunton Junction gas station. The employees at both locations are extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have a sort of inn that you can spend the night at. The atmosphere of the restaurant is extremely cozy and welcoming.

It was such a pleasant surprise to find delicious authentic Thai food on our drive to DC! Ubon is the real deal and such a sweet lady. Her husband Dan was very friendly and welcoming too. Definitely stop in and try the food!

They only had one staff (a sweet guy!) so there was a wait but it was so worth it. The food was really delicious. We were so glad we stopped by. Will be back again!

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was authentic, fresh, and delicious. The homemade freshly squeezed lemonade and Thai tea was a great refresher. We couldn’t help ourself without fresh cut watermelon and homemade funnel cake. Best food we’ve had in a long time and It wasn’t expensive. Highly recommend

I love Newtown! Their tofu sandwich is the best tofu I have ever had prepared in a restaurant. At night, their pizzas are amazing, easily the best pizza in town. I just wish they were open more often! Great coffee, great beer selection, and a great atmosphere with a gorgeous garden out back.

Newtown Bakery is for the relaxed but appreciative crowd. They may be slow to order or particular about seating but there is a reason why. Every dish they serve is made with care. This place is an experience to cherish. I would suggest one of there many delish pizzas! Go with relaxation and stomach fulfillment in mind and you'll leave happy!

I have not been to Newtown for breakfast or lunch, but their dinner is fantastic. The regular menu items are consistently good (especially the chicken wings, which are incredible), but gave 5-stars because of the Specials. Variety, quality, and quantity of the specials (usually include various salads, pastas, and a special pizza) push Newtown into another realm. Would much rather eat dinner (especially the specials) at Newtown instead of some other higher-end restaurants in town (although they are good, too).

We got a few loaves of bread and some sweet treats here. Not the biggest selection, but everything was delicious. The staff was lovely and very helpful. Especially loved the Rosemary bread. The cinnamon twists weren't our favorite but everything else was super tasty! Reasonably priced, too, for fresh made bread and treats.

Such a great local bakery. The pastries are made from scratch every day and are beautiful. They have New York style bagels that are served toasted with a generous side of cream cheese. The bread is baked fresh every day and they have half a dozen options for loaf size and flavor. They have brick oven pizza which I have yet to try but I haven't met one I didn't like.

A nice bakery with lots of choices for everyone with the usual muffins, brownies, etc, but also sandwiches, pizza, and a bunch of other stuff. Prices aren't too bad and at least the coffee and scone I had was excellent. The cashier was very professional and helpful. It's a good place to meet up with friends.

Just go. Baked goods in the AM, delicious pizza in the evening. Outdoor seating on pleasant days. Staff is superb. Gets a bit busy at times but excellent food with excellent service can cause that. Worth it.

I loved this place, the owners makes it even better, they are kind, lovely and knowledgeable. I had the best rose wine by their recommendation, the tapas were amazing, as well as the charcuterie board. Is a beautiful, well taking care of, and high quality food place. I recommend it 100%.

My partner and I are Staunton locals, and somehow we had never been here before — but after our visit, we’ll definitely be regulars. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by Angela, the amazing owner. She chatted with us like old friends and helped me pick out the perfect sour beer for my mom. We felt so at home that we came back that evening for dinner — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made. We did the wine tasting, and it was such a special experience. Angela personally selected and poured our wines, sharing thoughtful insights about the origins and flavor profiles of each one. (We later learned she studied to become a Sommelier in France — and it shows.) We also had the chance to speak with her husband, the chef, who told us about the rotating, fresh menu offerings. Every detail of the experience felt intentional, warm, and personal — like being welcomed into someone’s home. And the fact that the wine tasting is free with a bottle purchase? An added bonus.We can’t wait to come back — Staunton is lucky to have this gem.

As two people with a low budget, we came in hoping to grab a cheap bottle of wine and take it with us for the night. We were stepping into the wrong environment for that. Despite our conditions, the owner generously helped us find something that would fit our tastes and price points, even letting us try some things before hand. The pear semi-sweet cider that we ended up with was incredible. We had a great conversation and ended up very pleasantly surprised despite feeling out of place in the beginning. We thank her for her hospitality :)

What an absolutely charming wine bar on the main street. We sat outside, on a beautiful evening, and enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Chardonnay (recommended by the owner) and a small bowl of olives. It was a wonderful start to our evening. Definitely will return on another trip to Staunton.

This place is truly a shining star in this town. My partner and I were visiting from out of town to got dinner at another place, and we wanted to just continue the night with a bottle of wine and some conversation. We are not the most well versed with wine and the owner (Angela) immediately talked with us and found the perfect wine for our preferences. What stood out was her willingness to chat and she made sure that we were not in a rush to finish considering it was getting late. Towards the end of the night multiple groups walked in that had obviously formed a connection with Angela through wine tasting classes and she welcomed them with open arms. We also paid and left but struggled to find an Uber back to our hotel so we came back in to get another bottle to take home with us. Our only regret is that we didn't come here before our dinner! If we lived closer we would be coming here regularly! Any time we plan to visit the south side of Shenandoah we will be coming back and recommending this place to anyone visiting!

I seen the reviews and good ones an a couple so so. The food wasn't that bad and the restaurant itself is clean and well lit. Service was alright. I think it was alittle pricy, but it's 2025. Wife and I decided at least we try it because of the good reviews, everyone is different. We will be back though.

I thought it was great. We had mixed reviews from the rest of my group. Definitely one of the better restaurants in town, but it still needs something I can’t put my finger on.

Food was very good, portions were large and background music was not overpoweringly loud. I liked the restaurant and would definitely go back if I lived in the area but we stood an excessively long time waiting for someone to notice and seat us, with servers walking by seemingly oblivious to our presence. A “Hi, we’ll be with you in just a minute” would have made for a much better first impression. Eventually someone came and seated us and after that service was great but I’m going to have to knock off a couple of service stars because of that.

Much to our delight, this is not just another Mexican restaurant. To be honest that's what we thought when we first heard about it. The restaurant surprised us in many ways. First, the decor is beautiful, very tastefully done and is not tacky. And the interior is much larger than it appears from the outside. We were there in the afternoon and the atmosphere was very welcoming and I imagine the lights make it very romantic at night. Our server Medium was a delight and added her lovely personality to our dining experience. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the portions given. We ordered fried Chimicangos with chicken and vegetables and Tacos El Pastor. You can see from the pictures the beautiful plating and from the empty plates how good it was. The food is not your regular Mexican food normally found in other restaurants. This is authentic recipes and ingredients cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back and we highly recommend it. It is so much more than it looks like from the outside so go inside for a great dining experience.

Their food is perfect. Like, I was literally served the best quesadilla I've ever had north of the border. The kids menu is generous with both authentic Mexican dishes and the stuff for the picky eaters. The lunch atmosphere was quiet and private. They even have an adorable space for anyone who wants to be seated outdoors, surrounded by small elevated flower beds. Also, our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. My new favorite spot to grab authentic Mexican food, for sure.

I advise cheese dip. If you get the taco salad you can add the cheese dip and free salsa to the taco salad. I would advise against getting beef unless you want to pay sit-down prices for beef as bland and processed as Taco Bell. Overall, flavor is just not there to me.

Great food, excellent service, good price. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa was tangy and full of flavor. The Fajita burrito was bigger than I thought and was loaded with flavor. Don’t forget to ask for the homemade hot sauce. Most Mexican restaurants have one, but don’t advertise. The homemade hot sauce here had the perfect heat to flavor balance. I enjoyed everything. I just wish I could have eaten it all.

Great spot to grab a slice. My server accidentally forgot to place my order but was upfront about it, which I appreciated. To his credit, the place was packed and he was clearly doing his best. He offered to comp a salad to make up for it, which I gladly accepted since I was starving. Honestly, if he hadn’t mentioned it, I probably wouldn’t have noticed the delay. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for good pizza and friendly service!

Got the pepperoni peppadew and cheese pizzas and they were both delicious. You can tell fresh ingredients are used and the pizza doesn't feel too heavy. The chocolate chip cannoli was also great. Overall the vibes were good and the customer service was friendly!

This was my first time there. I'm in town visiting a friend and they made it known we had to go there. We got the #1 pepperoni peppadew and the #7 spicy soppressata and hot honey pizza. Both were fantastic and I wish I could have shared them with my Italian grandparents. We also got their orange and pistachio cannoli. The cannoli was delicious, with the filling to be light, and fluffy rather than dense and overly sweet. I found that to be a perfect dessert for a great meal. I cant wait for my next trip out here to try more of their food. Sadly the cannoli didn't last long enough to get a picture of it.

The crust hits that sweet spot—crispy outside, chewy inside. The sauce is vibrant without being too sweet or heavy, and the cheese is clearly high-quality, applied generously but with balance. I tried several pizzas that really stood out: Margherita Pizza – Simple and elegant. The basil was fresh, the tomato sauce flavorful, and the mozzarella melted into the crust beautifully. A go-to classic done right. Pepperoni Pizza – Crisped edges, a nice char on the bottom, and plenty of cheese. A solid, satisfying version of a crowd favorite. Specialty Pizza with Kale and Meats – A creative combination that worked surprisingly well. The kale added a bit of bite and freshness, while the savory meats grounded the whole flavor profile. During our visit, a couple entered through a side door and sat down at an open table. Instead of gently redirecting them or offering a quick explanation, they were asked to leave. It was an unfortunate moment, especially since the restaurant wasn’t full and there was no sign of confusion or line issues. While policies are important, how they’re communicated can make all the difference. Apart from that, general service was a bit uneven. It wasn’t rude or inattentive—just slightly understaffed or undercoordinated. Water refills and check-ins took longer than expected, and a few small interactions felt a little off tempo. That said, it’s also worth noting that every place has its off moments. With a bit more front-of-house polish, Lucas Pizza could easily elevate the full experience to match the quality coming out of the kitchen. 🛠️ Suggestions for Growth To complement their strong food offering, a few light service adjustments could go a long way: Handle guest situations with a welcoming tone – A friendly “Next time please use the main entrance” would’ve preserved the experience without confrontation. A must stop when we visit Staunton! The Caesar salad and pepperonis peppadew pizza are amazing (we ate one pizza there and got a second to-go) - and don’t forget a pistachio orange cannoli for dessert! Both sad and glad we live 3+ hours away (my wallet and waist would suffer too much if closer!).

In town for the day, we decided to try Pizza Luca based on the Google photos of the brick oven. We were not disappointed!! The personal pizzas with drink for the lunch special were fantastic!! We tried the meat and also the sausage with kale (add arugula) and loved everything. Just the perfect amount of char on the crust, light fresh -tasting tomato sauce, and quality toppings. Combined with the friendly staff, artsy patio and clean, modern aesthetic it was a perfect meal. Pull up, and treat yourself.

Excellent shop for organic and holistic products. They have everything from supplements to organic gummy bears. Their kitchen serves up delicious plates and amazing artisan coffee.

Today was my first day here and the customer service was amazing. I didn’t quite know what I want but there was a really nice lady working and she helped make suggestions. The food was DELICIOUS. It also came out pretty fast. I definitely will be coming back again. Thanks again for the great food and even better customer service

Great little market, and the food and coffee at the cafe are good, just don’t go if you’re on any kind of schedule. I feel bad complaining, but I had to abandon my order because a breakfast sandwich took over 40 minutes. I realize it was busy, but if the workers get this overwhelmed, maybe either hire more people during peak hours, or reduce the amount of variations on offer so that more items can be prepped ahead of time?

Food was average, service was good and attentive. Atmosphere was quaint enjoyed the meal. Would definitely go back when in town convenient walking distance from hotel 24.. If looking for anything holistic, this is the store to find it all kinds of interesting foods and olive oil. Love the store and his atmosphere.

I really like their coffee. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is their to go orders. I ordered a New York bagel to go for the first time ordering food from there, expecting to be able to eat a delicious hot bagel slathered in cream cheese when I walked out but it wasn't ready to eat. They give you two tiny packages of cream cheese, enough for one side of the bagel, and a plastic knife so you can do it yourselves which is kinda inconvenient when you're trying to grab a bite on the run. I would not have ordered a bagel if I had known I needed to finish prepping it myself. The coffee is good though.

A favorite breakfast spot whenever I visit Staunton. I enjoy the freshly made options and the slow vibe. Despite the small space, extra tables are tucked into corners and even on the staircase landing offering a bit of privacy, if you want a private conversation. I really enjoyed my dirty chai and crustless spinach cheddar quiche. We picked up a few extra high quality groceries on the way out. Definitely take a look.

The café is pretty good. Sometimes it's hard to find products that you want and they can be a touch pricey. The book spice Selection is small but I'm grateful for what's there. Probably the best spot to grab breakfast in downtown Staunton.

Excellent food. We ordered so many things and every item was absolutely delicious. Heidi, our waitress was attentive and kind. She made you feel like family right away. Highly recommend trying this place for breakfast or lunch!

My wife and I recently tried Kathy’s while on vacation and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a very long time! Good old fashioned country cooking at its best. And, hard to beat the prices for how much food you get! I regret that I couldn’t remember our waitress’s name but she was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The whole restaurant is a 10/10 with a great old school vibe, friendly staff, and excellent food.

Really wonderful breakfast - easily best biscuits and gravy I’d had. Eggs were nicely done and bacon thick and flavorful. Only down side was when the waitress asked if I wanted whipped cream with my pancakes, and I accepted, it was actually cool whip. Big disappointment.

This is my favorite place to eat breakfast!! 10/10 service, atmosphere, and FOOD!!!!!! Great place for holidays too, they are open most always! Lovely staff to be around, everyone works so well together. My favorite omelette is the Country Club omelette!

This is a wonderful little joint, and I do appreciate the staff to constantly check on me even though the restaurant was swarming with people. This little restaurant feel like a warm hug from your mother. The food was delicious but I do feel the home fries need onions and some garlic powder other than that I loved this place

Really cute and eccentric diner! Service was friendly and quick. I ordered the corned beef hash which was definitely from a can but otherwise the pancakes and breakfast potatoes were tasty.

We had a great meal at Shenandoah pizza and tap house. For the price, it is probably the best pizza downtown. To be fair, there is more pizza to try, I'm sure, but I will be hitting up this menu again soon! The pizza we ordered was thick with cheese and toppings. The sauce was good, as well as the crust. We had a medium Wright's pizza with an order of cheese fries to start. The fries are waffle style and well cheesed and seasoned. A little over cooked for my personal taste, but the flavor made up for that bit. The inside was nice with plenty of seating, even a second level of seating. The gals and guy who took care of our order were fast and friendly even bringing our dog a bowl of water. That's right, outside dog friendly seating on the weekends! This pizza joint is fantastic! I loved how the menu was organized by different base sauces. Everything we ordered was perfect (see the pictures). The pizza dough was definitely the highlight of the meal. The service was friendly, though a bit less attentive than I would have liked. I definitely plan to return and try more pizza flavors, yumm! 😋

I had not been here in a year but I used stop in several times per year. I was asked to go to the Harry Potter event and we went on Sunday because of the rain the day before. After a long day of running and then the festival we went here for dinner. Some pizza and a few beers was very much needed. The menu was not what I remembered but I believe it was adjusted for the event. Good food and yes, beers was a nice close for the day. At $30 or more per pie and drinks it added up but no regrets. Very laid back atmosphere and staff that had to be exhausted. I will be back and hopefully the full menu will be as well.

This is a no frills pizzeria. That being said, the pizza was some of the best I've ever had. We've traveled to all the pizza places. New York. Chicago. California. Italy. This was right up at some of the best. Great balance of toppings sauce and cheese. Sauce is seasoned really really well. Highly recommend. We will be back

Excellent pizza, amazing service, and the atmosphere was so nice! We sat upstairs and everything was simple but nice. The couple that owns it are really nice as well! Wasn’t too pricey either. This was our first time and we will definitely be coming back.

We really enjoyed this place. I had pepperoni pizza and really liked it. They have a house made hot sauce if you want it on the side, and it is pretty hot and tasty (vinegar based, I believe). Our party had: fried pickles, salads, and wraps. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the service was very good (Kyle). The atmosphere is nice and the bathrooms clean. It is in a historic building and the framed photographs on the wall are for sale. I am very glad we went and hope to visit again.

That was by far the best pizza I've had in longer than I can remember. They have outside seating in you want or you can eat inside the beautiful old restaurant, the service and server were also excellent. Very reasonably priced. I will definitely enjoy another pizza next time I'm in Staunton, VA. This was a pleasant unexpected find,we were deciding between this restaurant and one down the block, glad we made this choice.

We enjoyed our meals. Chorizo was good. Service a bit inattentive & margaritas came with salt when we asked for none. It does affect the flavor. Interesting that "happy hour" doesn't extend to restaurant patrons, only the cantina area which had no seats available. Complimentary chips & salsa. Nice location, clean inside & would stop again.

Just picked up a to go order lunch just after they opened while visiting some family who lives locally. At least the food came out quick because the whole place reeked of cigarettes . Friendly service !! that’s the only saving grace . Everything had been microwaved or reheated obviously, all dry and tasteless. Rice was undercooked and crunchy. Ordered the three different fajita burritos and tacos . We Couldn’t eat even half of each one of the orders. Such a shame, I knew it wouldn’t be authentic and more Tex than Mex but , just cheese microwaved on top of chicken for a taco and some lettuce thrown on the side ? pretty disappointing.

This was a last minute stop after a long day shopping and walking downtown Staunton. We had some cold beers and a light dinner. I had steak street tacos and added the beans and rice with their diablo sauce as well as a habanero and carrots sauce. They were not great but not bad either. The others were all fairly happy with their meals as well. The sauces were a great addition if you like flavor and heat. The stand out here was our waitress. Extremely attentive and a very cool demeanor. This was early in the week so not really busy, the bar had the most people and they appeared to be regulars but we were far from ignored. I remember going here for live music years ago and would love to do that again soon. I will go back again so that says enough I hope.

Nice place with inexpensive Mexican food and some vegetarian options. Service was very good at 2:00 in the afternoon. We were 2 vegans so ate the vegetable fajitas with an extra side of guacamole and extra tortillas. The complimentary salsa was delicious with the chips.

We found this place on Happy Cow when I was looking for vegan options in Staunton. It looked like they could do a few things with vegan options. But ... most of those couldn't be made gluten free. And since I'm both, it was difficult to find something that worked. Ultimately, working with the woman taking my order, we came up with a bowl with the sauce removed and subbed guacamole for the regular avocado instead. This bowl said that it has quinoa in it on the menu, but I was hard pressed to find any. Because of it having no sauce, it wasn't very flavorful. It could have used some beans of some sort also to bulk of the protein and fiber content so that I was more satiated. Overall, not my favorite find of the trip, but it was better than the alternatives, to which I couldn't really find any. I did appreciate that they tried to find something to fit my dietary restrictions though. So they definitely deserve kudos for that!

Nice spot if you're in the downtown staunton area. On the weekends, the street is closed down, and local restaurants have outside seating along with seating indoors. It's great if you like to go out and about with your dogs. The waitress was super nice, the food was good, and fairly priced for the area. What more could you want? We had the street tacos and they were super tasty. The salsa was fresh and a little sweet. The honey Diablo sauce was jamming! The inside is nice with plenty of seating. They also have a bar on one side, but we will check it out next time. If your shopping around the many cool stores and feel like a great taco, stop by the Baja bean.

We had grilled tacos and bayou burrito, both great. The service was awesome and the chef told us they come in every morning so everything is fresh. Also noticed the decor was pleasing, music fabulous and the entire place was incredibly clean. Well done!

This was an unexpected surprise. We were in town for an annual guys trip of golf and breweries. Didn't expect to find this diamonds in the rough. The owner and staff were amazing. They catered to our group, like we had been loyal customers for years. I'm not sure we were their normal clientele. 😀 It was awesome to see the owner interact with her staff. We stopped here for lunch on a Thursday after arriving in town 15 minutes earlier. A friendly face greeted us with a warm smile and seated us with menus. We ordered 2 beers and 2 sandwiches. Our beer was refreshingly ice cold and delicious. We ordered 2 different grilled cheese sandwiches, that were grilled to perfection! The outside of the sourbread was crisp and well-browned while the inside was a delightfully melted and flavorful cheese. I would highly recommend The Yelping Dog!

We had a good day in Staunton, until we didn't. We strolled Beverly Street, made purchases in some shops, and had a nice conversation with the women in the visitors center. During that conversation, we told them we wanted a light meal before going on the scenic railroad. Upon their recommendation, we went to the yelping dog. Our experience was the same as reviewer Judy Henley. The waitress seemed to have an attitude from the very beginning and it only got worse. After serving our food, she never returned to see if everything was okay, or if we needed drink refills. She not only didn't return, it was very obvious she intentionally never looked at our table when she went by to check on tables beside and behind us. The four of us were totally at a loss for the behavior of this waitress. Maybe she doesn't like elderly people.. we're late '70s to '80. We all agreed we have never experienced such behavior by a waitress / waiter. The grilled cheese sandwiches were very good but we would definitely not return, or recommend this place because of the extremely unfriendly service.

I've been here multiple times, but this review is based on my visit on 1/07/21. For starters, the staff here is always super friendly and on top of things, and today Sarah was our server. We ordered "The Dragon Hook" plate which includes Red Dragon English cheddar (infused with mustard & ale), Deer Creek Wisconsin aged cheddar, apples, walnuts, pretzels, sweet pickles, and on top of that, we added charcuterie. Throw in a couple of nice white wines and it was the perfect late snack after a big breakfast and spending time shopping in downtown Staunton.

We visited with friends and found a great selection of wines, however the service couldn’t have been worse. The only woman working when we first got there was less than welcoming, had an attitude that appeared as through we were an inconvenience to her. Our friends are locals and visit this place frequently, so needless to say we were all highly disappointed.

What a gem! Delicious food and wine, amazing staff, great ambiance... what more do you need? I was shopping for wine and cheese when I sat down and looked at the menu. Ended up having "The Godfather" grilled cheese sandwich and some Viognier. Perfect and delicious! I recommend both of those, and I'll be back for sure.

This place has absolutely the best tacos, just wow !!! They offer a decent variety to choose from, and I think we've tried a few of them. My goodness, they were delicious. I. Love. This. Place. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and I've always left satisfied and happy. I'm usually a carnitas person (and their carnitas is top notch) but I want to put a shout out for the sweet potato and black bean taco... holy cow... it's a marvelous bit of magic! Add one to your order just to give it a try - and leave even happier.

Tacos are meh, overpriced and the tortillas weren’t great. Chicken isn’t very good. However the nachos were very good, and worth the money, definitely can be shared by two people. The steak fajita filling was the best one, and the only one I’d really think about getting again.

At one point, was stopping in at LEAST once a week. 😅 This restaurant never disappoints. Get the chicken bowl, greens instead of beans, with the cruda salsa (if you can handle the heat). Side of chips and guacamole too! Truuust meee. Sweet potato black bean and the tofu tacos are fire too!

Today was my first experience with Salvadoran food, and my first time at Gloria's Pupuseria. I absolutely loved it! They have a large selection of kinds of pupusas, their jalapeño sauce was delicious, and top each bite with a little bit of their curtido (slaw)... ¡Delicioso! The place had really nice atmosphere, the staff was informative and very welcoming, and I loved the artwork on the walls. I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be going back!!

My first visit to Gloria’s and I gotta say - I’m completely blown away! The Pupusas were amazing, and I look forward to my next visit to try other specialties on their menu. The decor and overall atmosphere is warm and inviting, almost like dining with relatives. I would give this hidden gem 10 stars if allowed! I’ll be back real soon!

i’ve loved gloria’s since they first opened. i was so happy when they expanded into a larger environment after that horrible flood, and have been very impressed with their continued growth and consistently outstanding food. i’ve had many pupusas in my day, and gloria’s has always taken the cake. i decided to branch out this time, and i found my new favorite with their yuca chicharron dish. wow, wow, wow. the papas fritas was the perfect app, and the horchata was so fresh and creamy. the server was very pleasant, helpful and kind, and their outdoor seating is super welcoming. i’ve been here dozens of times over the last several years and i’ve never left unsatisfied. i’d give them 10 stars if i could. just delicious. :)

We didn’t know what pupuseria’s were and honestly didn’t even know how to pronounce it correctly. (poo-poo-seh-ree-ah) After trying a little bit of EVERYTHING, we can’t wait to come back.

After a very long day of driving across many states, we needed to find a special place for dinner as it was my daughter’s 9th birthday. We went to Gloria’s based on their high rating and we were not disappointed! EVERY SINGLE thing we out in our mouth was so flavorful and delicious! From the chips and guac, the fried yucca, carne asada, pupusas, and their horchata- it filled our belly in the most wonderful way. But beyond that, they went above and beyond to make my daughter feel special on her birthday with singing and their incredible tres leches cake. A little girl at the restaurant even gave my daughter art to celebrate the occasion. Experiences like this make me realize how much good there is in the world and the kindness of strangers that instantly feel like family restores my faith in humanity. Thank you to Gloria’s for a birthday my daughter will never forget.

Gloria’s Pupuseria in Staunton, VA is amazing! I’d never had pupusas before, and they are absolutely delicious—homemade, unique, and full of flavor. The service is fast, the prices are very reasonable, and everyone there is super friendly. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, and the bar looks awesome. Even though I don’t drink, I loved their non-alcoholic Atlética Copper with a lime. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you just had something truly special.

giving it no stars because i ate here at 9pm thinking it would be easy to pick up late at night and it ended up making me sick chicken fried rice tasted like it came out of a dollar tree rice cooker soaked in soy sauce and salt. I had diarrhea all night. On top of this the workers were rude and made the entire process of ordering food difficult. horrible run down ugly building that has many reviews of bugs in the food.

Just moved down from Northern VA, and that may have an influence in my review. Being close to DC and Maryland that offers a variety of food &restaurants full of flavor. The front desk was friendly, my to go tray was packed! The food was hot and fresh..but zero flavor. Steak,chicken, vegetables absolutely no seasoning. I guess I should have figured when I saw the drive-thru. I've never seen a Sakura Japense with a drive thru, but I just wanted to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I do not recommend.

What a great location and setting. You can tell they took careful thought in the layout of the cafe and seating with plenty of places to sit. You can also watch the roasting happen as you get some work done on their high speed WiFi. But the star was the seasonal drink I tried the perfect balanced drink not too sweet and the coffee really shines through with the perfect extraction and roasting. Plus the waitstaff was so cheerful I was there for awhile getting work done and I just couldn’t stop smiling at the interactions between the baristas and customers. I definitely will make a point to stop in here anytime I’m in town for work.

A quiet, cozy, and relaxed coffee shop with its own roaster. The black coffee that I got was super strong, and match was unsweetened, which I much appreciated. There are chairs and benches inside and outside. The stream and stone bridges were beautiful!

Stunning gem, tucked away in a cool little town. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and cheery. Locals nestled in and doing work, fresh bagels and pastries ready to be served. Wide variety of drink options, but a fresh pour over (when done right) is hard to beat! Definitely pinned as a place to come back to in the future!

Such a nice place to grab a morning coffee and a baked treat. I’d love to return in the warmer months. They offer abundant outdoor seating. My cappuccino with oat milk was really nice, smooth, well prepared. Alongside a slice of tasty lemon poppyseed cake, I was well supplied. The star of the show was the young women staffing the store that day. So cheerful, friendly, attentive, patient.

We stayed nearby and my family loves a good donut so naturally we had to check it out. The shop has a tiny storefront where you place your order from trays of incredible looking donuts, some flavors are constant and some change (daily or weekly, I'm not positive). Everything is even better than it looks. The plain cake donuts are superb, the cream filled is amazing, the cinnamon cake donut was just the perfect hint of sweetness without being overwhelming, and the sourdough cinnamon roll donut was incredible. I have no pictures of the donuts we bought because they were devoured so quickly! The coffee is a really decent cup of drip coffee. Prices are great; $1.30 per donut, can't remember the price on coffee but somewhere around $2.00 for a 16oz cup. Definitely worth a stop in but make sure you go early! They sell out fast!

These donuts are AMAZING! They are creme filled, cake and yeast; fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Locals already know, but if you're in town and they're open....GO! Make sure you get there early as they sell out. You will not be disappointed.

So excited to have good donuts in the area! Both the cake and yeast donuts are great—especially the chocolate creme stick and powdered sugar cake donut! Yum. Update-June 2018: The cinnamon stick is also super delicious along with every donut I’ve tried here (most of them).

Hands down best donuts in Staunton and Augusta County! I’ve always loved D&L and asked them to do donuts for my wedding. They were able to provide me with a huge order of delicious donuts for a very reasonable price. Dave was very easy to work with and provided a high quality product. We barely had any donuts leftover the guests loved them so much! Highly recommend if you’re looking for just a tasty morning treat or a big catering order! D&L is the place to get great donuts.

Excellent customer service. We got there before 9am on a Saturday but the apple fritters were all ready gone. Super disappointed since I wanted to bring one home for my Apple fritter loving dad, we ordered some other things. While talking to the very sweet gentleman behind the counter, his wife(?) heard me asking about when I should call ahead for fritters and grabbed a broken one they had set aside and sent it along for my dad, no extra charge! My dad said it was the BEST fritter he had ever had. My girls thoroughly enjoyed their pick and my carrot cake donut was amazing. So glad we made the 25 minute drive and will definitely be back!

I ordered a supreme Sicilian pizza with extra mushrooms, which cost an additional $3.00. Upon arriving home, I found the pizza had a negligible amount of mushrooms, despite being assured by staff, after a call to the restaurant, that it contained a double portion. Furthermore, the sauce was unevenly distributed. While the pizza was tasty, it did not justify the $30 price.

My partner and I stopped in on a Sunday around noon and were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of items on the menu and was able to answer all of our questions. She checked in just the right amount of times and brought refills without needing to be asked. We ended up getting an order of bread sticks, stuffed shells, a small stuffed pizza, and a side Caesar salad. Breadsticks: *Crunchy outside, soft inside *Plenty of dipping marinara *Definitely recommend Salad: *The croutons on the ceasar salad are made from the breadstick bread and are so good. I don't normally like croutons because they're usually ridiculously hard, but I ate every single one of these!! *The dressing was different from most other ceasar dressings but still tasted good. It was a little sweet and less tangy. Stuffed pizza: *Very much like a calzone, overall, it was good. You are able to customize the ingredients. There is no sauce inside. Stuffed shells: *2 to a plate. That seemed like it was not going to be enough food, but they were surprisingly filling with lots of cheese. *I enjoyed the marinara, and the pasta was cooked well. *They are about $11, so take that into consideration when you order. Other random thoughts: *Plenty of seating *Plenty of parking *Bathroom was clean *My partner stated that he would have liked the bread items to be slightly *less* cooked/crunchy and it seemed like the oven may be too hot or it was left in a bit too long? I had no issue. These are just our personal preferences, obviously, so take everything with a grain of salt :) Overall, I'm pleased with our meal and the service received. If we are ever in the area again, I would be happy to stop in and try some other dishes and maybe even a dessert!

Barely any meat on my cheese steak also super small portion of fries, mozzarella sticks are way over cooked and kinda burnt. I looked up best reviewed pizza place near me , first time trying it. I dont think they'll be a second.

Very good all around the only reason I didn’t give it 5 star was because my shrimp scallop and clam was because it was a bit bland. However the dish was very generous lots of seafood. I would recommend this little gem. Service was outstanding.

We love coming here. The owner is a wonderful and hard working person who has done a fantastic job building repeat business. The place is always extremely clean and the food is consistently excellent because good food and service is her priority. Today we dined in, but we also pick up and use their delivery service. We're never disappointed.

Ordered takeout from here via Slice and was really surprised. If you know Staunton, you know there are a ton of pizza joints in and around the area and they all seem about the same to me. Not this place, the food was extraordinarily good. They had it ready and waiting when I arrived, staff was polite, restaurant was very clean and well kept.

Absolutely wonderful. The building is very cool. (Love the bar top). The food was FANTASTIC! Caponata Formaggio is to DIE for. My husband got the Tuscan Salmon that was delicious! We got a Root Beer Float (added rum) to share, that was very yummy. The service is exceptional! William was our server and he was fantastic! Attentive without being intrusive. Perfect combination for a waiter! Chef Tom is a very talented chef and we were delighted to meet him!

I had the braised short ribs and the dish was perfect - more than I could finish. My daughter had the Copanata which she enjoyed, as well. Her boyfriend enjoyed the Rigatoni and gave it high reviews. We’ll be back soon!!!

The Queen City Bistro had outside seating and a friendly welcome on a Friday night, with the roads open to pedestrians only. Really enjoyed just sitting at the bar with a cocktail. The Cobb salad I had was yummy and filling. Relaxing and comfortable dinner vibe.

What is it about Staunton, VA, that has attracted so many good restaurants? They close Beverly St on the weekends for outdoor dining and have block to block dining experiences that are exceptional. Queen City Bistro was as advertised. The service and the food, and the drinks, and the decor, made for an experience to remember. The cocktails were first class, the wine list and beer selection was above par, the menu could please everyone. The gnocchi Brunswick stew was a hearty meal; the short ribs were excellent.

Cosy atmosphere for anniversary dinner! Not too loud but close quarters. Small menu which included more appetizers than main courses. Cost was a bit high but for event diner well spent and expected. Would go back.

As you may know I'm just a bourbon guy, the misses though, loves her some ciders. this was our first stop and all I can say is that She loved the cider flight! what I can personally attest to is the super chill vibe and the awesome staff of this establishment! these guys were very cool and helped send us on our way of places we should check out from there personal opinion, something I value and am quite grateful for when humans decide to show this hospitality. So yes, if ciders are your jam, stop in and indulge! and grab some great merch as well

My parents and I were visiting from out of town and decided to stop in this unique cidery in the historic downtown area. From the moment we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised at how inviting, airy, and trendy the vibe was here. We truly enjoyed our conversation with the kind server who was so friendly and engaging. We opted to try a flight of ciders, each with a different twist on flavors. Super fun! It was hard to choose my favorite one since they were all good and unique. It was overall a great experience.

Very impressed. Went late on Saturday night for after dinner drink with my wife on our anniversary. Scott was behind the bar and a great host. Ciders were all spot on, very clean and thoughtful and well executed. Budhoney was hands down favorite, top shelf for sure. Scott made the experience even better, very cool guy. We'll be back with friends.

They have a funky cactus 🌵 and fun night lights. A good bar with a nice outside space. Great service who was friendly and attentive. Oh yeah, and the ciders were amazing 😍

After returning to Staunton after 5 years, this is my favorite new addition to the drinking scene. The manager was super nice and gave me several recommendations for other new restaurants to try. I don't understand why this place wasn't packed with customers because it should be. Their bourbon infused cider IS from Mars. Amazing.

This place is PHENOMENAL!! The staff are knowledgeable and VERY friendly! They offered great suggestions regarding the flights and even food that was available in the area. I had one of the greatest evenings of my life here! What a GREAT atmosphere and there is an awesome selection of Ciders. The employees (Beth, and unsure of the other lady's name) we're super attentive and knowledgeable with everything they offered. What a GREAT experience and such a fun time! I cannot wait to return! I LOVE this place! Highly recommended!!

We ordered six dishes, and it took 45 minutes to serve them completely. The food was so great that we forgot to complain about the slow service. The atmosphere was good; inside was noisy due to a barely working fan, and the restrooms were not very commendable.

Overall the food is good, but everything else needs work. Atmosphere is bad, layout is strange. Servers are nice, but not enough of them. Very loud, hard to talk. I did enjoy the food though.

Stopped here after a good day in Lexington, VA. We were seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the fried plantains, street tacos, Pupusas and finished with an order or churros. Everything we had was delicious. I would highly recommend the chorizo and cheese Pupusas, as well as the steak street tacos. Be aware the sauces that come with the tacos have some spice to them. Definitely worth stopping and checking out if you are in the area.

First time visiting. Nice patio. Quiet. Burrito and potatoes were very good. The biscut and gravy was dry biscut, cold gravy with no meat. Overall would visit again and try something else.

I tried the carne asada based on recommendation of the wait staff. The best part was the sauces you could tell they were made in house with care. The presentation was nice too. Unfortunately the skirt steak was wayyy overcooked and tough and all they give you is a butter knife. When I asked for a steak knife the waitress brought me another butter knife and told me to try that. When I told her that wouldn’t work any better she said she would go look for another knife. By the time she got back 15 min later It was too late. The place was dead and yet it took a good 30 min for my food to come out. I really wanted to like this place but I’m not sure I would try it again.

We truly enjoyed everything about this place! Food was delicious, owner/staff is friendly, atmosphere was great, and kid friendly! We had the pupusas and the carne asada plate, both were so flavorful! Also had a mojito which was amazing! Definitely check them out if you are in town!

good breakfast spot right on the creek/river. Food was very good and the service was some of the kindest and very hospitable young folks I have encountered in a while. so if you need somewhere to go in your comfy clothes to throw some wholesome food on last night's alcohol driven extravaganza, then look no further. oh and trust me, it will be very hard to find a place that is such a bang for your buck! all of us aren't rolling in the 💲💲, so we need a good meal that's easy on the pockets, and this is it!

Fantastic little restaurant! Christina has new soups and desserts every week and everything is made fresh in house. The atmosphere is so cute and delightful, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The perfect place for a lunch with friends or a romantic dinner, or even enjoying a solo date with a book.

I LOVE everything about this charming bistro in our neighborhood! We walked there for lunch today, and the ambiance, food and service were just perfect! The Creamy Tomato Basil soup as well as the White Bean, Kale and Sausage soup were delicious! The Orange and Feta Salad with Champagne vinaigrette were such a wonderful flavor combination and so well presented. Loved the decor and the obvious attention to detail throughout. Clearly a labor of love which shows! We didn’t have time for dessert, but will be back for the Vanilla ice cream drizzled with Bourbon balsamic and olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt!

Bijou is a phenomenal food experience! The soups and salads are so fresh and delicious. Such nuanced and satisfying dishes. The cafe is charming and the owner and staff are warm and welcoming. Worth the visit!

We had a bachelorette luncheon- so easy to make a reservation, food was divine. Couldn’t have had a better experience! Easy to navigate allergens, and plenty of beverage choices alcoholic or not. Just found this place today -- wonderful store with a great selection of wines from around the world. I had the Italian sub -- Wow what a sandwich. Fresh made roll, very generous portions of meat. Lettuce was very fresh, and the hot pepper relish added a nice touch. Now I don't have to go to the NY Deli in Williamsburg to get a great Italian sub. I will be back soon. Thank you

Came across this place while looking for a local "farm-to-table" restaurant. We had a small group coming from different corners of the US and everyone found something they really enjoyed! Really cute place. I like the way it's set up with the wine market on one side and dining area on the other. Service was top notch and the food was fresh, inventive, and tasty! I really praise whoever came up with these flavor combinations!

We visited for the first time a few weeks ago. The staff was very friendly and we got right in to a table at lunch. The food was excellent and they had quite a few healthy options. I would say the only downside was I ordered a sandwich that was delicious but it was only a sandwich and it would have felt like more to have perhaps some fruit or veggie or chips added to the plate to make it feel like more. But overall we were happy with the experience.

Seed to Tail were wonderful to work with for catering our wedding reception! They had it all beautifully set up as promised in time and were punctual arriving to clean up and take the stuff back. The dishes were lovely, food was absolutely delicious and was ample for everyone, and they were easy to work with.

I loved it! I visit them quite often but I've never been there early enough to check out their farmer's market. I had stayed the night over so I decided to check it out. I'm very glad I did because there were numerous vendors with a variety of produce baked goods and a lot of other things. People are very friendly in the prices were extremely reasonable. Found quite a few yummy options!

One of those local prize venues easily overlooked until you go. Well worth it! You'll find excellent local grown and/or prepared foods as well as various food trucks that swap out each time time last but not least, several craft/makers sellers. If you haven't made time to go, make time.

Had a great time here on Saturday. We bought a nice loaf of spelt bread from Grain Story. The flavor of the whole grains is amazing and goes great with just a smear of butter! We also liked the empanadas and pastries from Magdalena's and the coffee from Happ. Last but not least, we picked up some chestnuts from a local farmer and are really looking forward to roasting them in the oven soon!

I visited the Staunton Farmers' Market a few weeks back and was delighted with the amount of options available for things to purchase/do. Each vender that I visited was amiable and polite even when I didn't buy their product. I especially enjoyed the large selection of plants/flowers to choose from! This is a very well run farmers' market and if you're in town, you should definitely stop by on Saturday morning!

We had a wonderful fall (mid-Oct) visit to the farmer's market. The number of vendors may be down, but the quality was great. Fresh eggs, unusual produce, pumpkins and gourds, local cheese, herbs and spices, a variety of meats, some game, lots of pastries including fantastic gluten free! And a hand puppetier. Loved our time there.

It was just an ok experience... Nothing special... I can't understand why everyone gets so excited about a place that only opens a few hours one day a week.. I visit the Philippines regularly and the open air farmers markets there open at 5am to mid afternoon...7 days a week and you can buy anything from Very Fresh fish and meats to produce... live animals (chickens, sheep and lambs and anything else from Soup to Nuts .. So this place was not very exciting to me ..

Great food and great service! I got the Boozy Chai and the Fruity Boy and couldn’t have been happier. The Boozy Chai tasted just like a regular chai (my favourite!) with just a touch of the Bailey’s. The crepe was amazing and sweet, and all the fillings complimented it. The staff were all incredibly kind and fun, and the food was amazing. Can’t wait to try more!

So so yummy! Mr J’s bagels are the best and we were ecstatic to see them on the menu! Super yummy breakfast Sammie’s at a great price, and everything is presented beautifully.

I came in for a late brunch yesterday, and happy to say I enjoyed the food very much! The Tuna Tartine hit the spot, and the Asian Cucumber Salad was quite delicious. I could have eaten just the salad and been pleased all by itself. Thank you! We will be back ✌️

Pannukkau? More like PannuWOW! I'm not sure where else you can get this dish so if you're checking out this review, you should just go ahead and order it. The eggs and bacon that were cooked to order were also very good. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is very chill. Of course my wife and I were the only customers at 9am on a Thursday morning so I cannot speak to the atmosphere on a weekend when I'm sure they get quite busy.

Service was a little slow, but the crepes were SO GOOD! 10 out of 10, highly recommend. Also, very nice atmosphere, very much checked the cafe box, and my mom had the coffee (I don't know which one she got,) an she said it was DELICIOUS! 100% going back the next time I have a chance.

A cute little place but… it’s way overpriced for the food you get. My husband’s potatoes were still raw. My plate was $15 for a crepe with some deli ham and cheese in it. Fairly bland. My coffee hit empty and stayed there, but it was decent coffee… Overall the meal wasn’t worth the cost, we could’ve done the same thing at home and made sure our potatoes were cooked and seasoned properly

**I only write this review so that the owners can hopefully make adjustments to improve** Almost all of the food we got here was terrible. The Bella Ciao crepe had some of the worst prosciutto on it that we’ve ever tried. It was tough, and the amount in the crepe was gross, serving it cold and in the quantity they did with just a slice of cheese and a tomato just doesn’t work. The hash menu item had zero flavor. The size of the bell peppers was odd, and the scrambled eggs were also not good. The French toast was good. The ideas were great, but the execution of the food was so poor not a single person in our group ever wants to go back.

Had a smash burger for lunch here. The burger was really tasty. It had a special sauce that was delicious. They have a couple tables outside to eat on, no indoor seating. In addition to the takeaway lunch, there is a deli counter with locally sourced meats and cheese, as well as other boutique products for sale.

Had a great experience! The staff was super friendly, great selection of local hot sauces, spices, and meats. We tested out a few of the sandwiches- absolutely amazing. They were all 10/10, but the Tissy was particularly good! Definitely will be stopping by again soon!

Our go-to for the best wine, charcuterie, cheese, local meat, fresh pasta, and staple items you can't find anywhere else. The sandwiches are creative and one of a kind. The smash burgers are crave worthy! And they have the strongest Vietnamese Iced Coffee in the Valley! You can't find this stuff anywhere else and no one beats this place on quality and friendliness. If you haven't been here yet you've been missing out! Get yer butt in there!

While shopping, the question was casually pitched, “want a ham biscuit?” The answer was yes, of course, even though we’d only stopped in for some cider. On down the day’s road, it turned out to be the best biscuit I’ve ever had. Crispy bottom, lively middle parts, not greasy, not dry. Buttery ham. Beautiful store. Wonderful host. Killer biscuit. Happy customers.

Finally made it here today, and I just wish I hadn't waited so long. The staff member was so genuinely kind and inviting. The selection of local goods ranging from bacon, fresh house-made pasta, Autumn Olive pork, oils and more was really great. There are few places that leave you with an energy that you carry with you after leaving, but this is one - possibly because I'm a food nerd, but mostly because it's a gemstone.

Classic and authentic. A wonderful find just off of Interstate 81 so if you're traveling, use this exit as your pit stop. It's authentic in every way including portions. So, go in realizing that American super sized portions are not the same as Europe and traditional cooking. You get enough but not too much. The prices were a bit high, but, if it supports this family -run restaurant, we're good with it.

Loved the cozy atmosphere for lunch. Extremely helpful wait staff navigating the menu and offering suggestions that fit our preferences. Jagerschnitzel was amazing!! We split a couple of entrees to get the full experience. I am not usually a gravy fan at all but I could not get enough of the mushroom onion gravy. And the black forest cake is a must. Thank you for the hospitality, will definitely be coming back to sample more great food and music.

German themed restaurant with live music. (at least on the weekends.) The food was good. I haven't ate a lot of german food so I don't have much to compare it too. The theme was well done. The service was fast and friendly. I will definetly eat here again.

When we stopped for gas along I-81 I Googled top rated restaurants and this place popped up. The food is uniquely delicious, the servers are polite & timely and the decor is spot on for a German restaurant. Highly recommend!!! We’ll be back when traveling through this area. FYI, they had live music on a Sunday evening 👍🏼

Took the picture after starting to devour the delicious food. What a wonderful place to have dinner. Everything we had was delicious. We had the sampler and the sides that came with made it a perfect meal for 2. We both said we left full but not stuffed. Our son loved the Oma’s special as well. We love this area of VA so we will certainly be back and plan on visiting this restaurant again. They also seemed to be very dog friendly for those sitting outside of course. I’d only say if they could clean up the front on the way in just a little it would make the place even more welcoming as you walk up.

I never had authentic German food before. The pictures don’t do justice. The food is amazing, taste great. Lots of flavor, good digestion. Then there’s the beer, omg I’m a big guy. I put down three liters of beers in no time. This is a hidden jewel.

This is a great place. There are so few German restaurants now, and even fewer that are good and traditional. The food is great, and plentiful, sides are served family style, even for 1 person! Service is stellar. There’s outdoor seating and dogs are welcome. Kinda in the middle of nowhere, but worth the drive, and adds to the charm.

Good place for lunch or dinner just outside downtown Staunton with a vast menu of Thai cuisine. My mother and I had an early dinner here and found it pleasantly quiet and spacious. The Thai iced tea was excellent and the Pad Wood Sen delicious with a cellophane noodle cooked perfectly. The ramen pad Thai and duck salad were a little heavy on the shade and the duck salad was especially fishy. However, recommend as a solid lunch or dinner place near Staunton.

We visited this little spot while in town. It was amazing ! The owner and staff are so friendly... This was my first authentic Thai food experience . They set the bar very high... They let me taste different Sauces. Very fun and family like atmosphere.... I'll definitely be back when in town ... Definitely recommend..... 14 / 10....

We stopped here on a roadtrip with our dogs and had a great time! It was warm and a little noisy on the front patio, but the staff were very friendly and brought out a big bowl of water for our dogs. I got the Pad Thai lunch special with tofu , which came with a small salad, a cup of soup, and a spring roll. It was all very good and I still ended up with enough left over to bring home. I’ll stop here again if I’m ever passing through the area!

Best Thai food iv had around. 3 spicy hits midway through plate. Had me sweating. Pad Thai always a go to favorite. Kid didn't like it so had a chicken nugget reorder.

Great atmosphere and not too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. No wait to be seated, and food was ready in 15 minutes. Kind and courteous staff. Nice location, especially if you just want to stretch your legs or walk and animal. Behind the store is good RV and trailer parking. Entrance is somewhat tight but just need to be careful making the right turn exiting the parking area.

Always love my Cracker Barrel! Heather was an awesome waitress! They allow overnight RV parking here. Waitress said they have had RVs all the way around the parking lot before when they came to work! Courteous, friendly staff.

Best CB to boondock @ ever. The place is 3 minutes off the interstate exit, but its @ the top of a hill & is surrounded by woods. Outside of the train tracks with a freight coming through once a night (no horns) it is dead quiet after CB closes. The food was average. Pot roast was tender, gravy & mashed taters good, & biscuits were the best biscuits ever. I was a little disappointed with the biscuits beignets, though, as they have gotten' a LOT smaller, but other than that we had a good meal, too. Place is very clean, too.

Eat after church on Father’s Day, Restaurant was very busy. Service was good, food was hot and all came out at the same time for a party of 8.

Our visit to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store was a pleasant experience from start to finish. The warm, rustic atmosphere gave us that classic Southern comfort feel right when we walked in. The country store in the front was inviting, filled with unique gifts, nostalgic candies, and seasonal items it really set the tone before we even sat down to eat. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making sure we felt taken care of throughout our meal. Service was attentive without being rushed, which we appreciated. The food came out fresh, hot, and exactly as ordered. True to Cracker Barrel’s reputation, the portions were generous, and everything tasted like home-style cooking. Between the cozy dining room, the rocking chairs out front, and the chance to browse the store before and after our meal, the entire visit felt more like an outing than just dinner. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy comfort food, and share good company.

Wednesday lunch; about 40-50% capacity, lots of open tables. So they weren't slammed or anything, but we waited nearly an hour for our food. We also had a very inattentive server & part of our food tasted like it had been sitting under heat all day. Extremely dry. I didn't bother sending it back because it had taken so long to get it initially. Can't say I'll be back to this location.

All the food was good except the meatloaf. It was the end of the loaf and way overcooked. My wife tried to eat it but couldn't find any that was edible. We brought it to Shalya W's attention and she immediately told the manager and her meal was taken off the bill! She is a very friendly, hard working young lady! Great with conversations and very attentive, checking after food was delivered. Cracker Barrel you have good one in her!

Excellent customer service, food, ambiance, very clean, sanatized, well-kept uniforms, attitude was superb. Very caring and humble waitress (Rebecca S.), caring person and taking care of us very well. The food was well cooked and presented at the buffet. We enjoyed Sunday Brunch Breakfast choices and lunch items at the same time. Lavish salad and fresh cutt fruit bar were excellent with many healthy choices. Breakfast was awesome 👌 with many choices and unbelievable. We were celebrating our last meal for our anniversary and it was a good meal to remember it by. The manager at the cash register was nice and sweet also. Hats down to the cooks and management also, good team work.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The seafood buffet was deicious. Oysters were breaded and fried perfectly and the fish and shrimp was delish. Everything was well seasoned, would love to go back again soon

Wow this is such a great place to stop and eat while out in Staunton. 3 people eating steak and seafood buffet under $100. The place is super clean and everyone is working so hard to make sure all the customers are happy. Truly a down home feeling and meal. I wasn't going to stop here but decided I was just a bit hungry from a 12hr drive. I AM GLAD I DID!!! The breakfast buffet was really, I mean REALLY good. Came 20 mins before the lunch buffet so I had the choice of both for the same price. A+ on everything.

Staff is personable I enjoy getting a pile of bacon at the breakfast buffet... then some fresh pineapple and strawberry banana yogurt to balance it out. They also have French toast, sausage gravy, cheesy potato hash and grits, eggs with and without ham and veggies, cottage cheese, cantaloupe, oranges, rice with sausage onions and peppers, you should not leave hungry. Lunch and Dinner Buffet has fried and baked chicken, beef steak, green beans, potatoes, greens, salad bar, several options. Fridays and Saturdays there is a selection of seafood like clams and shrimp and fish. It is definitely worth trying.

Can't say enough good things! I stopped in for a quick, healthy lunch while here on business and the place was clean and neat. Prompt, friendly service...polite and helpful. I ordered vegetable tandoori and it was sizzling hot... the portion was really for two, but the price was very affordable (especially for the amount)! Furthermore, the food was fresh and delicious...very tasty, and I asked for a #4 (out of 5) spice level, and it was right on: could certainly feel the heat without overpowering. I can't wait to come back here on future trips! Thank you!

Really delicious Indian, some of the best I’ve had in a while. The butter chicken was extremely rich and flavorful, same with the chicken korma. Also the price for the portions is very good. I will say, the ‘medium’ was very mild, I would’ve like some more spice. Oh, and they had fennel, which my partner loved!

We went to stay in Staunton after Luray Cavern visit and found this good place very near to our hotel. We ordered daal, paneer masala and chicken makhni with tandoori breads. The food is really tasty the service is top notch and the atmosphere is very well decorated. It’s quite spacious restaurant as it’s housed in an old factory building. Finding parking can be a little challenging in busy hours.

I ordered take out here on a Thursday evening, my first night in Staunton. My wife wasn't feeling well so I walked over from our hotel. The menu was very extensive. I had to wait a few minutes to place my order. It took about 20-25 minutes uses to prepare my mixed grilled Tandoori. Pricing was reasonable for the amount of food I received. When I got back to my room, I was pleasantly surprised by well cooked and tasty my meal was! I was also surprised by the large quantity of food I received! My meal was so good, that my wife and I went back on Friday night and ordered more! My meal was just as good the second night!

I am writing this review, because we had some special experience in this restaurant. We were traveling from one city to another and we were super tired end of the day and I was not keeping well. We wanted to have simple Indian food, and being aware of Taste of India's standard, we walked in here. It was almost the closing time for the restaurant. They were doing EOD chores. But despite of that, they served us with the warmth. The taste of food was so good and fresh. They didn't hurry us even once. I definitely felt better after having good dal rice and Raita :). Sometime small gestures matter the most. Thanks team!

Dropped in for lunch after a ride on the Virginia Scenic Railway. What a treat! Very friendly staff, nice setting, and the food was delicious. My wife and I shared the Chicken Tikka (tandoori), the Saag Paneer and naan. All was well presented and delicious. A must stop for us when we're next in Staunton.

Here we go again… I don’t know how diverse this city is, but they definitely need some improvement. I ordered take-out and was waiting for my food. I initially provided them with my government name at, then remembered I usually abbreviate my name for take out. You would’ve thought I was trying to steal something the way the older guy came over questioning me asking what name was on the bag as if I didn’t JUST tell you it was my order. The energy was unnecessary. Never again. And I’ll definitely make sure people know about my experience. Wrong customer.

Saturday evening after Valentine's Day and everywhere else was really busy, we found room for 4 of us here. We tried the 3 for me and the burgers were cooked to perfection, juicy and delicious. The beer was cold, the margaritas were frozen and the salsa and chips were very tasty. Good fries!! Prices were well worth the food and drinks. Thank you Chilies!

We arrived to a packed restaurant Friday evening around 6pm but were seated within 10minutes. Our waitress was very attentive, and the manager was making rounds. He checked in when our appetizer was served to make sure everything was ok and we were pleased. We had never had their nachos before, they were delicious. Our main course was wonderful!! All team members were busy, but happy and the teamwork did not go unnoticed. Great experience.

Went with my son and 2 of his boys on the way to TN. 2 orders of chicken tenders fries, and 2 sodas for the boys, smashburger and a beer for my kid and a burger patty no bun for me. All came with fries and we got the burgers on the 3 for me menu so we also got chips and salsa. All together it was $75 plus tip. Not bad! The burgers were off the charts good, but the fries were seriously lacking, unfortunately. Chips were crazy good, super thin, crispy and plenty of salt. Worth the stop!!

Natalie is an absolute diva! I was in a group of 8 on a busy Saturday night before homecoming and Natalie took such good care of us all! She connected with our group so well and made sure we got our food and drinks as quickly as possible. Please give my girl Natalie a raise 😻 I love her

Horrible Experience! My friend and I have visited Chili's in the past and they were alright, but this time it was horrendous and we will NOT be returning. We came here after work for Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. They were both subpar - the quality has gone downhill considerably. But this isn't what I am complaining about. Your Ziosk did not work properly and I was charged twice for both mine and my companion's meals. When attempting to explain this to the staff, they ignored me and directed their conversation to my friend. Why? BECAUSE I AM DEAF AND COMMUNICATE VIA ASL. So they faced her, talked to her, directed their questions and so forth to her, and treated me like I was a child incapable of speaking for myself. I was furious and insulted at this behavior. What makes this even more infuriating is that the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind is just a few miles away from this restaurant. There's no excuse for this lack of cultural awareness and communication sensitivity. Clearly your staff needs training. When I did get the chance to speak up, I requested a refund and was told I would receive such within 7-10 days. So far that hasn't happened. Thanks for ruining my day, Chili's. You could have been a little more respectful and made more of an attempt to work directly with me rather than dismissing me simply because you think I am a "Deaf Idiot" who cannot communicate (by the way, I can speak and lipread when necessary, even though both my friend and I are fluent in sign language). Like I said, we won't be coming back. And that this happens in a city with a School for the Deaf nearby and a considerable Deaf population as a result? Shudder...

Last night we ate at Chili’s in Staunton around 8pm and our server was John. John was excellent and very attentive making this one of the better time we are there. The restaurant was busy, as there was two buses of students also there. This did not in anyway hinder John from making sure everything was taken care of.

Great food, service and the 3 For Me meal deal is a super value. Background music was just that, in the background and not overpowering like some places. Chili’s as a brand seems to have stepped it up lately.
