Founded in 1937, the 265-acre resort offers ski runs for all levels, terrain parks & a base village.

As a recent transplant to St. Louis from California, I was skeptical about finding a ski area within a day's drive that could offer real vertical and fun runs. After doing some research, I decided Granite Peak, Wisconsin— a seven-hour drive — was my best option, and it didn’t disappoint. This was my first time skiing at a Midwest resort, and I spent three days there during Christmas week. It was absolutely worth the trip. The snowmaking and grooming were excellent, with about three feet of snow on the slopes, and there were plenty of great cruisers to choose from. I’m an advanced-intermediate skier, and while none of the runs were overly difficult, they were still a lot of fun. I was able to lap runs easily and rack up a lot of vertical throughout the day. The terrain is steeper at the top and mellows out nicely toward the bottom, offering a good variety. Night skiing is included with the day pass, which makes it an even better value. The staff was friendly, parking was easy, and the resort sits right next to Wausau with all the accommodations and dining options I could want. The whole area felt like a winter wonderland, and the views from the top — looking out over the flat Wisconsin River Valley and the lights of Wausau — made the experience even more memorable. While I was a little disappointed that the entire mountain wasn’t open (it opened fully the week after Christmas), everything that was open was fantastic. I did notice a lot of beginners near the base area, so it’s important to use some caution where all the runs converge. However, once the full mountain is open — including the two chairs on the west and east side of the mountain that serve primarily intermediate and advanced runs — the skier traffic will spread out significantly. This will help minimize congestion at the bottom and provides more options to avoid beginner areas altogether. Overall, I had an incredible time and plan to make Granite Peak a bi-annual trip, fitting it in before my yearly two-week ski trip out west.
WOW I love this Ski Area!! There are so many hill to go down hill from beginner to expert ski. I love the one hill with long and very steep hill because I go down REALLY FAST!!! AWESOME!! I did see one hill have for Snow Skier to do jump trick. There is one lift chair (next to building to left) go pretty steady and slow. While the other lift chair (next to building to right) was going pretty fast. I like that speed so I can get going. I do like their Ski store they have with variety ski outfits and magnet. The tickets line was good but I wish I didn't have to go to window to get my ticket. It would be nice to have a machine outside to scan QR code then it will print ticket out. When I get to ski lift gate to scan my ticket I sometime have problems to scan my ticket thru my Ski coat. I like their Bar restaurant and Cafe place to eat. It seems pretty expensive. I thought it was interesting Cafe offer DISCOUNT for season pass when order foods or drinks. While Bar restaurant doesn't offer one. lastly, one strange fee cost is that at Cafe I don't get E&A FEE at all. While Bar Restaurant does charge me E&A FEE.
We had a spectacular day weather wise for the fall lift ride. The crew running the lift were friendly and very courteous. Very helpful to anyone who needed assistance seating on the lift or exiting the lift. The young lady that was at the ticket booth was very friendly and helpful as well. We will definitely be back again next year!
Always come here in March or April when closer resorts are done for the season. Usually after a snowstorm. Always great conditions. Newer amenities. Fast lifts. General atmosphere reminds me of DH which I also love but bigger, with faster lifts and newer everything. These pictures taken on March 20th
If was great. This was the first time on the Lucy without skis. You can get on on top and walk a few trails.
Had to switch plans at the last minute because Cascade was sold out and I now say we are lucky that was the case. Granite Peak was a lot of fun. Great variety of runs, low wait times, friendly staff and a beautiful area. Indoor facilities including dining and bar were decent quality and good service. Will definitely go back.
Nice base area, fast lifts Granite is a great Wisconsin ski hill. Can get a lot of skiing done with the fast lifts and one with mid mountain load/unload so you can lap the steeps or lower mountain. Paved parking lot is a plus.
The fall chairlift rides are a must! Beautiful views.

I love coming here. They are always rotating the exhibits so every time you go there is something new. Staff are friendly and the building is always clean and looks very well taken care of.
This museum is a gem. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s free but a donation is always appreciated. My 8 year old granddaughter was with me and liked it. We did some crafts in the kids area. In addition to the galleries inside there is a rooftop and sculpture garden.
Wonderful! My first time visiting and it was during the Birds in Art exhibit. I'm a bird watcher so I absolutely loved it! I may have to return again before I leave town. If I'm ever in Wisconsin again I hope it's during the Birds in Art annual exhibit. Love that it is free admission too.
I've been going to the Leigh Yawkey Museum since I was a kid. I've always enjoyed my visits. Heck one time I even had some of my art hanging on the walls there. Maybe it'll happen again sometime. I've seen lots of cool things there over the years. My favorite thus far has been the M.C. Escher exhibit. Today I saw a real Basquiat. No lie! Go there and check it out. Here are some other cool things I saw today!
Simply stunning and the lecture series is so worth the trip! Spend plenty of time strolling the roof top sculpture gardens to grounds and a study of mediums in the vast collection inside. Hard to pick a favorite.
Beautiful museum, Inspiring exhibitions and recurrent creative events! I’d go everyday if I could
Lovely grounds, statues and artwork of 50 years of beautiful birds! It was a lovely afternoon!
Wow 50 years of birds on display.. I wish they would add artist from Amish, indigenous, Hmong, community

I've seen multiple shows here -ballets, concerts and Broadway shows- always have a wonderful time. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful. The building itself is well laid out and beautiful! I don't think there's a bad seat in the whole place. I'm so very glad we have such a wonderful venue that brings in a wide variety of amazing shows right here in Wausau! Leave early for parking, though. Sometimes you have to park quite a ways away, especially if the shows are sold out.
Great venue for music. We went as a group and saw The Nitty Griity Dirt Band farewell tour.
This is such an amazing theater. Gorgeous decor in the theater. Nice seats. Modern bar area with lots of space and outside patio for smokers. Just be prepared for finding parking. Might have to walk a block or two. Can’t wait to come back here.
The last few performances I’ve been to here have had horrible sound issues. One live band ( The Wallflowers) had such loud bass and vocals were so quiet. Could not hear the vocals, the mic was screeching a few times And the bass was blasting for an acoustic rock band set. Tonight we saw cirque Christmas and there was a 1 hour delay because of the sound cutting out. We had to leave at intermission because it was so late. I’ve had friends go to other shows this year and had similar experiences. Not worth the money- which is unfortunate because the people they book are talented but their performance is affected by the sound. And lighting is often too bright and shining in your eyes when u are trying to see these talented acrobats do their thing. The
Fabulous show! Fabulous venue!! A delightful place to hear great music
Wonderful concert! Beautiful venue! Everyone was so helpful and kind!
Really enjoyed seeing Teresa Caputo at the Grand Theater in Wausau! What a beautiful venue. The ushers were plentiful, courteous and helpful. Really appreciate this iconic theater.
Iconic local theater with a rich history. I've been attending performances here all my life. The acoustics are great, last night's show was an amazing Johnny Cash tribute. Can't wait for Manheim Steamroller next month!

I have been a patient at WCTC for almost 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with my sobriety and progress. In all these years I have met almost every single employee that has come through the clinic doors and I have to say that they are there to help us in anyway they possibly can throughout our recovery. I have had a couple amazing counselors that I could honestly come to with literally anything going on in my life and feel comfortable and NOT judged by any means to do so.. I have been to multiple clinics around WI in the last 5 or so years and even 1 in IL and WCTC is by far the BEST clinic I have been to with the most caring, reliable, helpful, and nonjudgmental staff. They have been on my side and there for me ever since I walked in the door 3 years ago. They never cease to amaze me STILL after all this time. I could never thank them enough for saving my life and being one of the best support systems I have. Thank you again WCTC! 🙂
Wausau CTC is an amazing place to help one start the road to recovery. They have guided me through my journey in recovery and I'll forever be thankful to the staff. They offer many different types of groups to help clients learn how addiction works and how to overcome different situations and stay living a healthy balanced sober life. The counselors are amazing and very understanding as well as helpful with finding different resources in the community. I am very grateful to everyone there that has had a part in my journey. I would highly recommend someone to get help from Wausau Comprehensive Treatment Center if they are struggling from addiction. You will be welcome with open caring arms.
CTC comprehensive treatment center is one of the best facilities for helping with maintenance medication and counseling. Plus group counseling. They really do care about what they’re doing and they’ve received plenty of rewards to prove it. Please do check them out if you are struggling with opioid addiction, they’re easy to get into with next day appointments as long as it’s not on the weekend . They are extremely helpful in every way possible and offer resources for other things that they don’t necessarily have the answers too They’re helping me maintain a much cleaner lifestyle that I would not be able to do without them. I’ve struggled with herion use off and on for Years it but how you work the program depends on whether You wanna put in the work If you just go there for the medication so you’re not sick and spending all your money on drugs all the time then it will help you do that but you’ll spend Every single day going to the clinic just to Dose, you do not get a level when you are using . you go up levels If you stay clean, and you’re in compliance with your Counseling if you’re thinking, you can’t afford this just chill because they do offer gas mileage , Reimbursement and medical transportation through a company called Mtm and the clinic will also help you with getting all the gas mileage forms for trip logging to send in for payment and they will even fax them in for you ! Completely helpful This is if you have forward health/Medicaid state insurance they also take private insurance’s just give them a call to see if they take your private insurance but don’t worry if you don’t have any insurance at all and no state insurance you can also pay cash and $20 a day or 16 something it depends on what you’re on is a lot cheaper than paying $100 a day a bag . so don’t come up with the excuse that you can’t afford it and try to get put on state insurance if you don’t have it and you qualify they are really one of the best for rated methadone clinics around That’s not to say that they don’t offer methadone they also have Suboxone and subulate which is the shot that last of to a month if you really don’t wanna do all the driving but again it’s a situation where you have to stay clean for a while and on Suboxone and if you’re pregnant and using, please a call CTC you can be put on Subutex or/methadone , They have different option Depending on your sobriety from your drug of choice And the level of your addiction,, I recommended if you can stay off opiates for a few days you’re better off getting Suboxone way less Dependency So if you’re tired of your life being chaotic because of your hopeless addiction and tired of always being sick Give CTC a shot they won’t disappoint!!!5 stars for saving my life!!!
My family and I have attended this program for well over 30 yrs between here and appleton and I can say it has saved our lives. I recommend this treatment center all the time. My cousin was the first person to walk through the doors and my parents less then 10 others. I hope this program works for everyone that walks thru the doors.
I love how friendly everyone is at the clinic and how my sobriety has brought me closer with my kids and with myself I'm finally able to be back to my sober self. And I have an amazing counselor without her I wouldn't b where I am today she has been through so much with me and she always says the right things to cheer me and help me make sense of things that r going on in my life that I don't understand.
Wausau Comprehensive Treatment Center has changed my life,I have been dealing with addiction issues most of my life. Since I started attending WCTC I have not just reached multiple sobriety time goals, but also lifestyle changes and my outlook on life and outlook on people in general. I no longer feel alone,or trapped, judged and misunderstood. I am forever grateful for all of the wonderful staff there who have and continue to improve my life! Thank you! Ashley Johnson
This treatment center is amazing if your looking for help with your addiction I've been clean 5 years theyhave a easy tapering plan to each individual to help get off and the counslers are amazing along with the doctor I have been switched a few times from counslers which was anxiety inducing and caused to go back to being leary of them, but so far I've ended up with all amazing counslers and the one I didn't no longer is there. my favorites are starting with my first counsler who came back is brittney then there was Shawna and my current Amelia they have gotten me through alot are always there to listen and help there amazing I really love my counsler she makes me feel safe to open up and talk about anything, and helps in all the best ways she knows. If you decide to taper like I have been they still allow you to do counsling with out the medication, but it also gives you the option of going back on if you need or relapse. My expiernce has been amazing my significant other also went for his addiction but, I'm not happy with his results or his counsler but that's one person and I don't know the full extent of his experience, and I feel like his counsler failed him, but he has stayed in counsling after stopping the medication.
If another facility opened in wausau i would be gone. Never have i seen a business run based on like/dislike. 90 days between levels is ridiculous...much less to do if you keep patients at level 1 or 2 then w a shoddy system in place take levels for stupid reasons. Out of all of your staff only john, Michelle, Kaitlyn, and Karen are worth keeping

Monk Botanical Gardens is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The gardens are full of colorful flowers, trees, and walking paths that make you feel calm and relaxed. It’s the perfect place to take a break from your busy day and enjoy the beauty of nature. One of the best parts is how the gardens mix nature with art. As you walk through, you’ll find creative art pieces that make the space even more special. It’s a great place for all ages—whether you want to take pictures, go for a quiet walk, or just sit and enjoy the view. The whole atmosphere is calm and welcoming. It’s very well taken care of, and you can tell a lot of love goes into keeping it clean and beautiful. I highly recommend Monk Botanical Gardens to anyone looking for a relaxing and inspiring place to spend time. Whether you go alone, with family, or with friends, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and happy.
Pleasantly surprised. Being that there's no entry fee, I was expecting a real small, quick in and out place, however, we spent over an hour and walked nearly 2 miles. Love the clean paths, variety of plants, wildlife and sculptures throughout. I have already recommended this to several others.
Really cute place. We stopped to stretch our legs on our way to Rhinelander. Spent about an hour just enjoying the peacefulness it offered. Nice easy walks anyone can do. They have a nice variety of flowers and garden sculptures. Only cost was a donation.
I absolutely LOVE this botanical garden. It was very quiet which allowed me to take in the beauty. This place is stunning. Its also dog friendly which I appreciate. Other dog owners were responsible because we didnt see any dog potties on the grounds.
On Friday evening, I had the chance to experience Pizza in the Garden at Monk Botanical Gardens, and it was unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by fresh air, beauty, and a sense of community. The highlight was making our own pizzas with ingredients gathered right from the garden itself — fresh herbs, vegetables, and toppings that couldn’t have been more flavorful. We built our pizzas and then watched them bake in the Kitchen Garden’s wood-fired stove. The smell alone was incredible, but the taste was even better, warm and smoky, enjoyed under the open sky. As we ate, I noticed a young graduate taking photos in the gardens. It was such a sweet reminder of how this space is more than just a garden — it’s a backdrop for milestones, memories, and celebrations. Polito’s was wonderful, and Danni from the Gardens made the evening welcoming and special. What I left with was more than just a delicious meal — I left with memories of peace, joy, friendship, and love. Monk Botanical Gardens truly is a place where food, nature, and people come together in the most meaningful way.
Monk Botanical Gardens is such a hidden gem! The variety of scenery from lush gardens to winding trails makes it the perfect backdrop for both family and maternity photos. Everywhere you look there’s another beautiful spot, and the natural light is incredible. It’s peaceful, well-maintained, and offers so much variety without having to walk too far. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gorgeous, relaxing place to explore or capture special memories!
I like to visit Botanical gardens everywhere I travel and Monk was a great find! I love that it's free so EVERYONE can enjoy, but please donate generously if you're able.

Wow! Just. WOW! The woodwork and stained/leaded glass are exquisite. The stories behind this family are even more divine.
We were on the last tour of the day I believe. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and you could tell he was very enthusiastic about the history of the house and the town in general. The house is in incredible shape and the people in charge are doing a great job keeping it that way. Would recommend taking a trip to see it for yourself.
The house is absolutely stunning and our tour guide was the best! He was so polite and knowledgeable! Would highly recommend!
Absolutely beautiful. They have a great program the second Thursday each month of the summer with themed books and crafts in the beautiful pergola by the gardens and the carriage house. It can be a bit hard to hear with the traffic and fountain noises but it’s just a gorgeous atmosphere and so fun to explore the grounds! So grateful for this awesome program. It can be a bit long for littles since they read two books, but it’s low key enough you can give them a break walking around and rejoin.
What a beautiful garden!! It was a perfect place for a wedding cocktail reception. Great staff and everything came together perfectly!
A tour I won't forget! Stunning house! The curator knew so much about the history and also shared suggestions for other "house museums" in Wisconsin to visit.
Ben was our tour guide and he was amazing! The house was so cool! Great to see that people care about historical buildings!
A very interesting tour. This was not a typical tour with a lot of added pieces. This house had mostly original pieces and the tour guide was very interesting

Nice selection of craft brews offered. We had good friendly service when out for a Sunday Cruze. Looks to be a fun place for a packers game. Would not hesitate stopping by again when in the area.
I was introduced to microbrewing by my husband 12 years ago at age 19 as he owned a micro brewery, we have traveled the US and the world, most recently Europe, tasting micro brews and this place has by far the best black lager and higher quality beers we have experienced. If you’re in the area, you must stop! Very family friendly and fun atmosphere!
Great beer (wide selection) and tap room - Super friendly staff - I can't believe they're for sale and/or about to go under (from what we were told...soon if nobody buys it)...love their beer and it's a shame they never distributed in the Madison area...hope things work out because we'd love to come visit again
Belgian strong, Maple porter, bock, nut brown, dark lager, Octoberfest, English ale, coffee lager, oatmeal stout, Munich lager and a hefe....they have some lighter stuff too but why would you? This is some of the best old school brews and they do a really really good job. It is fantastic. I think I am going to plan future trips to Wausau based on there tap room hours. You should too.
I came here as it's my parents favorite neighborhood bar. Megan is awesome and she took excellent care of us. The beer is awesome. The owner was here and is very friendly. Highly recommend.
Brew Club meeting tonight. I really like what updates have occurred architecturally. The clientelle were sublime. I drank the helles all night great beer, Dustin! A10 warthog pilot, boom!
I have been craving to stop here since I stopped in a very tiny wine store that is located just outside the National Forrest north of Green Bay that was selling single cans of the Amber Ale. This beer tastes so darn good that it just really works for me. Very impressed with the facility but the relaxed atmosphere won me over. You guys really need to market your stuff in Racine better. Even the good liquor stores here don't have it. Kinda a bit of a drive for a 4 pack.
Great outdoor area, good beer and loved the live music! Well done new owners!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Lisa a few times at her and her husband Paul's shoppe and I honestly just blown away! They have this authentic extra virgin olive oil that comes from Greece and has the most delicious flavors! There is one that we bought that tastes exactly like butter, but with the health benefits of the olive! The wines are lovely and the environment is beautiful! You feel like you're walking into a European store. Lisa showed us yesterday, for only $20, you can rent out a beautiful cozy room for you and friends or loved one. I'm posting pictures to show and then a larger room for parties! I cannot recommend this shoppe enough. Lisa and Paul are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. A true gem in the community!
The Lil’ Ole Wine Maker is a special place where you can buy delicious wines, kits to make your own wine and brew kits too! They have all kinds of gifts and decor it’s the coolest place to visit or come by often! I have made amazing friends sipping delicious wine at the wine bar, I’m thankful for the hospitality of the owners Lisa and Paul thank you for all you do! Signed, One happy customer
We were in town for a wedding and are so thankful we stopped here! We ordered a large flight and were extremely pleased with all of our pours, so much so that we also bought three bottles of wine! We ordered a cheese plate to accompany the wine, which was an excellent choice! The owner was also our server. She is so knowledgeable about the wine and super sweet! We’ll be ordering more wine!
My son loves the wine!!! They are always very kind to me I ordered over the phone for my kid!! Best tasting wine ever were his exact words!! Thank you kindly!! Great customer service would definitely recommend!!! Very reasonable prices!!
The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. The fruit flavored wines were a twist to the normal. The Pinapple Pear was awesome!
Glad we stopped here. The owner is very friendly and ager to please, very attentive to everyone even with full bar and customers in the store. The wine is refreshing and unexpected to say the least. Every flavor is true to the name, and fruit/grape is imported from the origin. Our favorites are the Gerwatzamier and White Cranberry Bog. First 3 tastings are free, so we recommend sharing. There is a lot of events and a patio to enjoy. Its on the list for repeat trips.
Lisa and Paul are simply amazing! Always good wine and the meat and cheese board is so good 😋

Game was decent. Even though it had so much rain. Plenty of things between innings.
I thought instead of going to a park and making a barbecue why not come to this park where they already have them made and I can watch a show.
Had a great time, this wasy first time here. Thank you for a great experience.
Awesome experience, will definitely be back.
Went for a baseball game with a group, parking was hard, food and prices were good and they did a nice job with entertainment during the game
Great place to check out a baseball game with plenty of food options that change from stand to stand in the park as well as a area for the kids to burn off some energy

We had a great time there, go right when it opens so it's not so busy. 3 curveball hills on the left were slower and not as fun as the hills on the right side. They clip you up and you just sit in the tube and go up for a minute or so. You can go down the hills in clusters of tube's or by yourself. There's a fireplace, bathrooms and concession stand upstairs.
Nice trails. Very clean. Saw some Bats...they were nice Bats.
Kids and adults can have a great time on the tubing hill. A great value for a bit of fun!
It's absolutely beautiful! Great hiking and biking trails. Scenic and peaceful. Could definitely spend a day with your family and friends. Picnic areas and a playground for kids.
Overall a fun experience, the staff was friendly and occasionally cracked jokes. The bottom of the hill didnt have snow but their was wood chips to help you slow down... the inter tubes are wrapped with a canvas material on top with handles and have a stiff plastic material covering the entire bottom of the tube. It was so nice having a pulley system to take you to the top of the hill.
I love going here with my younger brothers. Expect to get wind burnt quickly going downhill so bring snow goggles and dress warm. I recommend bringing 5$ per person because you are going to be cold and hungry when you are done.
Great tubing hill, kids had a blast. No issues getting pulled back up on the rope line. Warming house was a nice break when the kids got cold.
The workers were friendly & helpful! We had a great time with our friends having fun! $10 for a session is an amazing value!

Nine mile is such a fun place to mountain bike. It’s beautiful with a variety of trails for different skill levels. At the beginning of each summer there’s an awesome inexpensive program for kids to learn to mountain bike. It can be a bit difficult to navigate if you aren’t with someone who has been before, but there are signs.
Cool Park just don't get run over by a bike. Write down the road from Rib Mountain this place is pretty neat lots of mushrooms.
Well maintained and lots of terrain variety. From chunky technical to pure flow, you can fine a segment to suit your skill and ambition.
Awesome for mountain biking except one trail was all rocks and stumps
We have done the cross country ski trails here, but the snowshoe trail is also a lot of fun. I have posted several pictures below of the snowshoe trail taken in 2017 when there was actually a lot of snow
Incredibly fun place for mountain biking with intermediate and expert trails. Bathrooms and chalet (not sure if the chalet is open in non-winter months) available along with public bike work station. Small fee is required for riding.
Lots of great mountain biking trails that are maintained well.

Wow! What a great place to walk, hike, or take a bike ride! There are also small rapids just up the riverwalk. Very cool. This weekend is a national free-style white water event. I saw them practicing today! I'll stop here every time that I come to town!
This was our first time visiting. You walk across a bridge to an island that has views of the water and some trails, with a few little wooden bridges. There's a large open space as well. We visited in March. So trees were still bare and no greenery yet. This place would be beautiful in the fall! We encountered many leashed dogs on our walk. People were fishing, and kayaking. There was a nearby playground that was pretty popular on the nice day we visited.
Beautiful Park mini amenities please look at photos and videos
This park is beautiful!!! It's pretty small but it's absolutely beautiful! It's like you're in a magical fairy garden. Wish I had a kayak to launch off their little dock to explore the park that way. Only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is we stopped to enjoy the view of the river at one of the little beaches hidden in the trees and there was garbage, used toilet paper and a needle floating in the river. Absolutely disgusting. I hate people. This isn't the parks fault but something to pay attention to if you go exploring off the trails. The trails and the rest of the park were very well maintained and clean!
The bridge has a classic feel with its strung lights. Nice walks, would definitely come back EDIT: I’ve come back here a few times since my first review in 2019, and still really enjoy this location. Spent a lot of time here in winter and spring and have since been back in the summer and now fall. I recommend this park system. Please enjoy photo update
A small island park with a nice short trail, and some absolutely beautiful water views. Ample parking at the entrance which is adjoined to another park. There is a large open space with street lamps, and a few picnic tables, but not much else on the island itself (no restrooms, grills, trashcans, or shelters, though you will find those at Oak Island Park). We had a great time hiking the trail. Lots of birds and other forest critters, and several areas with beautiful flowers. There's a real sense of peace here. Be sure to see the rest of the Riverwalk while you're here! There are a few Pokestops on the island, and MANY more (and gyms) in close proximity.
The playground was pretty big and had a lot of fun stuff to play on. But the playground equipment was mainly for bigger kids. They had a tiny slid and baby swings but the rest was more for big kids. Hard to climb stuff that is. The merry go round was neat it had stuff to climb and hang on. The walking trails are pretty well maintained but I did have to walk over a couple of down trees. They had a few little beach areas to stop at with picnic tables. And it was dog friendly as long as they where leashed.
Beautiful walking area, too many mosquitos!

The town hall was a great place to host a bridal shower. It was light, airy, and the space was more than adequate for a small gathering . The food was fresh and delicious. Their staff is professional, very friendly and was very busy with another event the day we had ours. I would recommend Willow Springs Garden hands down for any event you may be interested in hosting.
Beautiful place to experience so many different events. From weddings, to fall cornmazes, to kids tea parties, to puzzle competitions, to private birthday parties. Always a fun time, wonderful service and excellent food!
Great place to visit and relax! We came for the all you can eat pizza with live music. Price was less then $20 per person, and we ate till our stomach exploded.
My daughter’s wedding and reception were fabulous! They thought of everything and helped us make decisions by asking questions of her and her new husband. Everything was organized, food was yummy and the set up was beautiful! They had the wedding of their dreams!
This is a really beautiful place to visit. Whether you're visiting for the gardens, the history, a wedding, fireworks, or to have a meal, everything is top-notch! We stopped to take in the views and get some pictures. They were setting up for a wedding, but were kind enough to allow us to wander around. If you've never been, or if you are planning an event, Willow Springs should be at the top of your list! Be sure to make your way through the hedge maze while you're here. (We have a lot of corn mazes in our area, but this is the only place I know of that has a hedge maze.) Several Pokestops and gyms in the area, though you may have a difficult time staying connected.
This is the go-to place for any event they offer. Staff are friendly and dedicated. They have their own 4th of July event every year offered on the Sunday before. Abe Lincoln and Georgia Washington have even been seen walking the grounds! I think I remember Paul Revere there sometimes too. They offer pizza nights, wedding venue, a Christmas event I went to with dinner, and a horse-drawn hay wagon ride to the barn to see antique Christmas decorations. And, yes great food! I could go on but it's worth checking out their schedule of very well-designed events.
I went here for the family movie with pets night and it was so lovely. I drove over an hour to attend! The inside of that Round Barn would make the loveliest wedding venue I could imagine. It has a bar inside and also like a counter to serve food and the wood beams with tulle and Christmas lights was beautiful!
My baby shower was hosted here. Beautiful location, but not a spot for summer events if you have small children, elderly or pregnant women. The building doesn't have AC and we were not made aware of that while checking out venues. Unfortunately, with a 94 degree day, we didn't get to do everything we wanted to do because of how hot the room was. The frosting melted from the cupcakes even! Thankfully, we go with the flow and still made the best of it! The babyshower was for me so I'm not sure on pricing or experiences with working with the staff. Pros- Beautiful scenery and large spaces for events. Food on-site to order for parties . Cons- no AC, you are responsible all clean up including taking garbage to dumpster. Additionally, someone working there asked me my due date and said " your baby must be measuring big!" A warm pregnant woman's nightmare of a comment. It's 2025, as a society we need to understand it is never okay to comment on anyone's body shape or size under any circumstance.

We did an art class for toddlers at the center for visual arts and I was so impressed. The building is absolutely beautiful and it was wonderful for my little guy to be exposed to so many mediums of art in the galleries and also to be able to create and explore during the class.
Hosting our wedding ceremony at the Center for the Visual Arts was an absolute dream. The Loft Art Gallery provided the most stunning, intimate setting for our ceremony, with its beautiful space and unique atmosphere that perfectly complemented our vision. Vicky and the entire team were beyond incredible to work with. From the moment we first reached out, they went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Their professionalism, creativity, and personal touch truly made our day unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we’re so grateful to Vicky and the team for making our ceremony so special. If you’re looking for a venue that offers beauty, elegance, and exceptional service, the Center for the Visual Arts is the place!
I've taken a couple art classes here and loved all of them! They also have a really cute gift shop.
Very Interesting displays and prices. We were there to see a window display of our great niece's Cranberry Tree by Author Kathrine Yets.
The Wausau School District Art Show on the 2nd floor is amazing! There are various peices of art in the gallery. From paintings, to quilts! They also feature a gift shop! 4 out of 5 stars!
I love the CVA. My kids do their Saturday program every year, and it's wonderful. One of my sons also did a week art camp with them, and he was so sad when he had to stop. They run wonderful programs, and thank you to everybody who has supported them especially through the pandemic
The CVA is a wonderful community location. They have beautiful art and wonderful lessons for children. Each year they have a Saturday expressions art day for children, which has several different projects that children can choose from. It's well priced, and my kids love it!
Having just returned from a CVA ON THE GO trip to Minneapolis I am still profoundly impressed by the level of professionalism on the part of Caroline and Rose whose planning and scheduling of the trip was downright awesome from start to finish. The tours of the Russian Museum of Art, the Walker Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Art were mind blowing. The food at the"Moscow on the Hill" restaurant was superb. And the hotel - the Renaissance Train Depot - was A+ - from the feathery beds, clean rooms, to the scrumptious breakfast on Sunday morning. I am still processing the most wonderful experience and being an artist myself my inspiration is full to capacity from the art at all 3 museums. Kudos Rose & Caroline! Thank you for making this trip fun, flawless and flabbergasting!

The portrait exhibit was better than I expected. Some fabulous work. This is a small museum, less than 30 minutes needed but well worth the stop.
Drove over three hours to see Jennifer Balkan’s show. Website online said it would be open, phone recorded message of Museum said it would be open, Google said it would be open, Museum was not open. We retuned three times after it was supposed to open to locked doors. My husband and I were not only disappointed I have to admit we were upset.
Great place to get out of the heat and check out some cool art, or purchase a painting or two
The website and Google listed the museum as open, yet the doors were locked and no one answered the phone. There also was not an option to leave a message. I am disabled and had a terrible time walking around the building and waiting outside unable to go inside or get an answer as to why they weren't open when they should have been. Extremely disappointed.
This museum is a hidden treasure that needs to get some of the light of day. They are having a wonderful show until December 29th 2018 of the most talented artist I have ever seen. There are 57 of them! Anyone who lives near here or is traveling through should make time to see this show! Amazing!
The museum just opened this past fall. They have put a ton of work into a historic building which is worth the visit alone. Based on my observations of the first showings this museum seems on track to provide a much needed cultural venue for contemporary art in north central Wisconsin.
We were doing a chilly walking tour of downtown Wausau today on our way back from visiting family in Eagle River. This museum was closed, but the director, David Hummer, happened to arrive just then as he was preparing for the next exhibit, Joyce Polance's Exchanges. He graciously invited us in for a sneak preview. Her work, some of which was not yet hung, but instead was still lying on the floor, is quite beautiful, and was made even more interesting by Hummer's account of these pieces representing an earlier stage of Polance's work, and his explanation of the relationship between representational and abstract art. Hummer explained that he is everything from director to resident artist to janitor there, and his wife is the administrator. Seeing these works and hearing Hummer share his vision for this new museum was a treat. I recommend the Polance exhibit to all who can attend.
May of the pieces on display here are incredible. Some drawings and paintings could almost be mistaken for photos. Plenty of space to view the work from different perspectives. The gallery is very welcoming and there lots of places to have a seat while taking in the art

Many memories have been made here. If this truly is the last season which is what it's currently looking like. This will be missed by many along with another place for teens to go safely going away in our area.
Iron bull run was fun! Helps raise funds for mental health
Some very great entertainment on a little track in Wisconsin for sure. First time ever seeing something like that and loved it.
First time racin there. Very fun track till i crashed.will come again
Very nice place to race. Very family friendly also
Great racing, can't wait to go back!
Fun place if you like to watch some racing!
My dad and I love coming here for Race Day. The crews and announcers are fun and engaging, and they are always doing something fun! Fundraisers are often held here as well. After the races, the pits are opened to the public to go and meet the racers, which is always a blast! I think our favorite part is the Bear, however, the man on the track telling people to "Pick a Lane!" Highly recommend visiting this place for good fun.
