A very cool theater with unique architecture. It seats 915. The floor is slanted to help everyone have a nice view. We sat by Door 2, Row G, Seats 6 and 8. Two seats off the aisle and 7 rows from the stage. Our seats were great. We had an amazing view of the stage. It is a big stage so many musicians can fit on it and easily move around the stage together. We saw Howard Jones and Haircut One Hundred. The sound was very good and anywhere you sat you should be able to hear the performers. We very much enjoyed our show and will definitely look for other shows to enjoy here in the future. The theater is very cool and has nice charm about it. There is a balcony too. Snacks and beverages and adult beverages can be purchased and enjoyed during the shows. Convenient and clean bathrooms are in the lobby. The theater does not have parking BUT there is street parking and many parking garages. We parked at the Hyatt Regency Hotel parking garage. It was a short walk to the theater. We paid $20 for parking for 4 to 6 hours. There are many neat restaurants around the theater to try. We also enjoyed looking for all the many art pieces of Seward Johnson from Grounds for Scuplture placed around the sidewalks. We didn’t have much time to look before the show but we found 3. Someone at the show said he found 12. Very cool!!!! Many neat buildings surround the theater as well as artwork. This is definitely a must visit venue for enjoying a musical band up close and personal rather than from far away and lost in the crowds.
Great theater for shows, performances and ballets. They have amazing wheelchair accessible seats for my disabled daughter who needs to be up close because of her visual issues. The staff and ushers at the theater are so nice, warm and accommodating. The only issue is the theater does not have any area to accomodate an adult changing table so there was no place to change my daughter (she's incontinent). I called the box office and they referred me to use the family companion restroom which we would have to lay her down on the floor to change her. I really hope the NJ state theater would consider modifying one of their companion bathrooms to add a folding adult size changing table which can be used by us and other families.
Nice sized theater for a show. We sat in orchestra area, all seats seemed good. We saw the Vampire Circus & had a good view of everything. They were very interactive with the audience. It was easy to get in & out without a wait, restrooms were large so there wasn't a long line. Parking is in garages or on the street, but mind the meters bc we saw 2 tickets on cars plus 1 ticket bc they weren't even in a parking spot. Many restaurants around.
A beautiful little theater holds up to 1000 in ground floor, clean good sound but needs updates
Had a great time. Seated are tight if you are plus sized. That's the only thing that's bad. Very clean nice staff
Recently my two friends and I went to this theatre. We’ve been many times in the past and always had an enjoyable experience until this last trip. We had balcony seats. We got there maybe a tad bit late and we used the bathroom upstairs that said all gender rest room as far as I know we were the only women in the room of about 12-15 stalls. After the show one of my friends needed to use the restroom the ladies room to be specific so she opened up the door and lo and behold here are both men and women waiting to use the restroom surprisingly no urinals, and I have to say I am shocked, disappointed, and outraged that you would allow men and women to share a bathroom. We’re not talking about a family bathroom that you see in airports we’re not talking about a single bathroom that you see but this is just outrageous. So the three of us will not be back again because of this. We left and we went to a restaurant and we used their facilities which they had both the men’s and women’s restroom so this is really more of a WARNING that if you have balcony seating and this offends you as it does, I either use the facilities downstairs, don’t go or find a restaurant close by. There are plenty of other venues in NJ that would appreciate your support
This is a great venue! Easy to get too and parking isn't awful like other places. There isn't a bad seat in the house and its very clean. Highly recommend this theater. They have awesome events, something for everyone.
The theater itself is nice, but our experience had some downsides. My daughter had a hard time seeing because the person in front of her was tall. We got her a booster seat, but it was very uncomfortable, and she stopped using it after just a few minutes. Given the high ticket prices, boosters should really be provided free of charge—other theaters offer them for free and with better quality. On a positive note, the bathrooms were clean, but the seats we purchased were just okay overall. Not sure if I would return to this theatre.

So many different flowers, trees and vegetable gardens in a beautiful garden. This is such a nice place to spend an evening. We found benches everywhere we went in case we want to sit down and relax for a few minutes after taking in all the breathtaking scenery of absolutely beautiful flowers and perennial arrangements. Lily land, vegetable gardens are closed when we were there. Some of the spruces and firs looked like they were there for hundreds of years.
This was a lovely place for a walk and to enjoy the flowers. Next time, I’ll plan my visit earlier in the season to catch more of the spring blooms. I had hoped to have a picnic during my visit, but the website didn’t make it clear whether that was allowed—so I held off and gave it four stars instead of five. However, I saw others enjoying snacks and meals, so now I know it’s perfectly fine to bring food along.
A Great Free (Donations Accepted) place in Jersey to Discover. Nicely Kept Grounds to take some nice pics. The Trails are uneven, stone paths, Some grass and can become slippery if wet. Nice place for small gatherings and picnics. Even tho there is no official Picnic area and the Rest rooms are Portable type .. All Trash you Create should be removed.. Respect for keeping it Nice and Clean.
Great local resource. Relaxing setting and nice trails to walk around on. Grounds were clean and felt safe the entire time. Cool that so many trees and plants had placards. Plenty of parking and good mix of roads and fields to wonder around.
Still alot of plants in bloom and beautiful large trees. Plenty of things to do here, be sure to bring plenty of water if it's a warm day. Be mindful that there are dips and some holes hidden when walking on the turf grass.
Lovely spot to relax! Lots of pretty gardens, benches...bring a lunch or a book. Composting toilets out of order and portajohn in rough shape. Garden/potting store closed.
It's always enjoyable to wander around the gardens. The little paths that wind under the canopies of trees into little secret gardens always evoke childlike wonder. The bamboo forest, the pine forest, hellyar woods, open fields of grass, and the flower gardens are all very lovely.. its a gem.
Rutgers Gardens is a beautiful and peaceful place filled with colorful flowers. Each flower has its own unique name, making the walk through the garden interesting. A perfect spot to enjoy nature!
George Street Playhouse

Showcase for new & established plays, presenting both on & Off-Broadway theater productions.
Slide 1 of 8
We went to all the performances of the George Street season this year. Hard to say which performance was the best. For a small local theater, we are very impressed with the show selection and how each production is different and true to the show. Highly recommend this theater! This past week, we saw The Shark is Broken. The acting was superb, the script was funny and having a "like real" boat on stage was amazing. Very impressive!
As someone who is hearing impaired I found the sound from the loop system very poor; I suspect from poor sound design that resembles that of a tunnel. While I appreciate the fact that a loop system was incorporated into the design of the theater it did not function well at all for myself and the hearing impaired person who accompanied me. I will hesitate to attend the GSP again.
First time visiting the George Street Playhouse, and we were very impressed! We saw Sally Struthers as “Mrs. Peck” in An Old-Fashioned Family Murder — the acting was excellent, and the theater itself is beautiful and welcoming. For a small local theater, it truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back for more shows!
What The Constitution Means to Me was an outstanding play. The acting was terrific, all 3 actors superb. Saw it October 13.
AVOID THIS PLACE! Notorious for putting on low budget versions of productions. The tickets come at a beyond premium price ($125 - for comparison, Broadway tickets cost $75 or less even), but the production is anything but. We saw 'The Shark is Broken'. The play is about JAWS. Before the play even started, the person speaking upfront beforehand who seemed to have some role in the production stupidly said "I haven't even seen Jaws". We were baffled. This was the first major red flag. The production starts and it is 3 dudes arguing, that's it. No set changes. No jokes. The props (or should I say, singular "prop") were bare minimum, and after about 20 minutes we had had enough. I asked the person at the front if we could have a refund, and to top things off, they were very rude to me. A snarky grin and a "Ohhh no no, we don't do refunds". AVOID. THIS. THEATER. Grab a train into Manhattan for cheap and see an actually good, award winning play for half the price. By the way - they kept pushing back the "debut night", and when we finally got to go, the very small theater wasn't even all the way full. The warning signs were obvious, you can feel it when you walk in. We were waiting on this, and to describe our experience even as a 'huge disappointment' is a massive understatement. I would give George St 0 starts if I could.
Just saw "An Old-Fashioned Family Murder" - it was amazing! Everything was great - the theater, the stage production (gorgeous set, with great sound effects) and of course, the acting! One of the best plays we have seen.
I just saw the Steve Guttenberg show. The set was constructed poorly as we had an obstructed view of the stage. I found the show lackluster. Steve was pleasant but this seemed to me to be a puff piece that leaned towards a vanity production. The other cast members were real troopers who worked furiously to perform 90 characters over the 90 minutes of the show. It was adequate at best.
I went to see ‘the Shark is Broken’ last weekend. Horrible experience and 125$ I’ll never get back. The host meant to kick off the show was cynical and unfunny; capping it off he proudly stated he had never seen Jaws and basically talked down to the audience for watching fictional movies. The play itself was boring, 99 of it was just the characters arguing. Me and my friends walked out before the half way mark. We were refused a refund and only after an exchange of emails we were offered tickets to another show. After our experience we would much rather have our money back then go through the same thing again. Terrible experience, this venue really needs to get their priorities in order.

Interesting campus museum. We only saw the top floor, as we had an agenda with our child that will be attending in September. There were very cool exhibits. Enjoyed the experience.
Top level museum for Soviet nonconformist art. Very well presented and explained. Some high quality European artwork and a few photographs as well. The entrance is free. It’s pretty chilly inside, so bring a sweater if you tend to get cold indoors.
Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University is a true hidden gem, beautifully curated, peaceful, and impressively diverse, with collections ranging from 19th-century European art to modern and Soviet nonconformist pieces. The atmosphere is welcoming, never crowded, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. With free admission and regularly changing exhibitions, it’s a perfect spot for students, families, or anyone seeking an inspiring and relaxing cultural experience right on campus.
It’s a wonderful museum. We really enjoyed it with our family and my nephews.
Eclectic collection but I just wish there was more to see. Only 2 floors but they make up for it by frequently rotating the galleries
We visited here while the Museum was having a Latinx event and it was really fun. They had some activities for kids to participate in and several exhibits. My kids and I had a great time walking around and seeing the different art.
I took a free museum tour here, as I am a student at Rutgers, New Brunswick. The tour itself was awesome! I like museums in general and the artifacts they hold. The guide herself was a delight, she was kind, polite, and most importantly: really informative. She explained things in great detail and made it really interesting. It was fun looking at the various paintings and statues and learning about the stories behind them. It was overall a great experience and one I will never forget.
Every one can visit this museum for sure and free. Guys at front information desk is so welcoming and helpful. Staff around are supportive. Coming to museum art display I personally liked majority items. Starting from kids gallery to Russian artist display. Most of the art types are first time for me to see and understand. Overall it’s good museum with all facilities in 2 floors. Photography is allowed. There is enough parking behind the building for visitors to park. We visited on Sunday and it’s not much crowded.

Went to the Christmas choir concert. The chapel is very quaint with its red colored walls, old portrait paintings, and stained glass windows. The Choir was amazing along with the conductor who kept everything in harmony. I recommend visiting this place at least once in your life. Just thinking about how many people have congregated over the hundreds of years just gives you some good vibes. Merry Christmas 🎄!
We come every year to see Christmas in Carol and Song. The church is beautifully decorated and the performance by the Rutgers students is always top notch.
Beautiful chapel, elegant stained glass windows. Worth a visit for the beautiful architecture. Entrance is typically locked though it seems, ask security guard in the booth at the front gate to let you in.
Kirkpatrick Chapel is non-denominational. I was not aware that it is also referred to as Rutgers University chapel, and was built in 1872. It has been built in a Gothic Revival style. The stained glass is by Tiffany! The construction is very sturdy and will last for a long time. Cooling probably is non-existent but it has some heating. There is plenty of parking if you are attending weddings, which are very common here.
I enjoyed working with JJ Cooper and his staff at The Kirkpatrick Chapel for our non-denominational wedding. If you are looking to have your ceremony with a traditional church feel but don't necessarily want to jump through administrative hoops for a mixed-religion ceremony, this venue is the best solution. It's a beautiful historic chapel in the heart of New Brunswick, and you can provide your own music and officiant. No regrets here. This ceremony venue was perfect. Fair warning--this venue is better during the fall and winter months (has heating) vs the summer months (does not have central air system).
We had an amazing experience working with Kirkpatrick Chapel for our recent ceremony. J.J. was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process and was always prompt answering questions. The ceremony went off without a hitch and looked absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend! Thank you J.J. and team!!
Went here for a wedding, the wedding was absolutely beautiful!! You can tell it's an old chapel which adds to the charm bit the acoustics were off because they tried to modernize.
In regards to planning your wedding at this chapel the customer service is incredible! Responsive, easy to work with... highly recommend!

Cute park in the center of town. Close to the theater and the Hyatt hotel. Very nice area to explore. There are many restaurants in the area. Upscale to casual. There is something for everyone in this area. Definitely recommend exploring George Street.
NY 2025 fireworks! Nice display, it seemed a little quick this year. They had a DJ but the volume could've been louder. Also the crowd didn't stick around for more music, they dispersed pretty quickly. But it is January so it was pretty cool out.
Excellent place; been there for New years celebration.
Beautiful picturesque square! Pleasant spot to soak up some sun in the city center of New Brunswick, offering a time capsule, 2 monuments, bench seating, and a magnificent photo opportunity!
Calling it a “park” is a bit of a stretch, this tiny location in downtown is a good place to sit and people watch, but not exercise as you can walk the length in just a few feet!
A pleasant place to hang out. It's clean and beautiful
Small park, good for sitting and relaxing or walking a small pup around. Great spot for photoshoots though always windy even when it's not windy elsewhere in town. New Brunswick City Center hosts their annual Christmas Tree Lighting here every December as part of their Winter Wonderland. Also the home of their Summer Car Show in June, July, and August on the third Thursday of each month.
Very nice chill spot to people watch

Everyone was very inviting, and when I started to sing a hymnal, I literally felt like my whole body was tingling from head to toe, andi have been in many churches and that was a first, so I would say the spirit was present.
Beautiful church! Very friendly staff! We met the organist and he gave us a history of the church!

What a beautiful, and history filled place this is. You can feel the history when you are on the grounds. The cemetery holds the remains of people from the beginning of our country and inside there are pictures showing the church in its glory during it's long history. The church part is only a fraction of the space in the original sanctuary as the rest is used for a different purpose. The parishioners I met were very kind and pleasant and I was a joy to learn much of the church history from them. I wonderful place to visit and I recommend it for anyone looking for a new worship place.
This is a beautiful and historic Dutch Reformed Church in the center of a tiny town named Blawenburg. The rich history of the surrounding area dates to pre-revolutionary times. A great community to worship with. All are welcomed.
We are a small congregation, it feels like a nice family. We are open and affirming and all are welcome!

I call this church my home and feel blessed that it provides me the teachings to nurture my faith. The church is Bible based; with openness & diversity; and a welcoming congregation with the culture of a family. We have been blessed with anointed pastors who do a great job in helping us digest the word of God; and relate it to our everyday life. I leave service feeling inspired and filled with God's spirit ready to face the world. "We are a diverse, welcoming and united congregation that serves the local community, praises God in innovative ways and inspires a deeper connection with Jesus Christ." Sunday service starts at 11AM, on Summer at 10AM.
My home church is housed in a huge building on Monument Square in New Brunswick. There are stained glass windows, a beautiful, historic pipe organ, a grand sanctuary with high ceilings and balcony on three sides. On the other side of the organ is the Sunday school building with a few floors of classrooms, offices and upper & lower fellowship halls. During the week, the Sunday school doubles as a day care center and self-help groups use the halls. But what makes a church is its congregation. Ours is very diverse, with members originating from many European, African, Asian, Caribbean and South American nations. Our music program reflects the diversity of our people. We have a chancel choir, a bell choir and a spirit band that contribute to Sunday worship and special services. We are very active with charity programs, supporting Elijah's Promise, donating loaded backpacks for needy children in the fall, warm hats & mittens in the winter. We join with other New Brunswick churches to provide overflow shelter to the homeless when temperatures drop below freezing, and our young people volunteer at a mission school in Africa. Our pastor, Cyndi Stouffer, is so warm and loving! Right now she is with a group on a trip to the Holy Land, but most Sundays find her in the pulpit offering inspirational words for the heart-sick . We have prayer warriors, a Devotion in Motion dance troupe, weeknight Bible study and recreation programs. And with such a diverse congregation - many of whom are terrific cooks - you know our potlucks are not to be missed. Come and join us! Sunday worship at 11:00, children's Sunday school during worship and adult Sunday school at 9:30. (We don't have our own parking, but the Morris Street parking deck offers vouchers to church -goers.)
Pastor Cyndi is awesome! Must visit. God loves you. Jesus is Lord!
Great people, very helpful and they give out delicious food every night.
this church is doing amazing service to the needy… 🙏🙏🙏
A wonderful, multicultural place to worship! ❤️
Just go there for a group meeting
Great place to get your God on
