Been here twice. Neat that they have the air force one plane and helicopter in the museum. Lots of facts about the presidency under Ronald Reagan. Special exhibits that get changed out regularly. Once was an exhibit on the Dead Sea scrolls (recently) and last year on “Star Wars”. Both very interesting. Would highly recommend for museum and history buffs and nerds! Bring your own food. Kind of not a lot of choice and over priced food inside. They have a complimentary shuttle that can shuttle you from parking area to the front door. Also, if you pay a little more, you can go back to any or the presidential libraries for up to one year.
I recently had a rare and wonderful opportunity to visit this inspiring and educational site with two good friends What an incredible place! The library is tucked back into the hills of Simi Valley with breathtaking views of beautiful Eastern Ventura County. Upon entering the premises of the Ronald Reagan Library, I had the special opportunity to view the Scrolls. Very informative and educational . The docents and the staff at the Library did an incredible job of making me feel welcomed. The Library is also a tribute to a wonderful and great human being, Ronald Reagan. There is a large gift shop as well as a cafeteria that has a pretty good selection of burgers, pizzas and salad. I had a delicious hamburger outside and had the wonderful opportunity to dine outside overlooking the hills of Eastern Ventura County. If you ever have a chance to visit the Ronald Reagan Library, please do, you won’t regret it.
What an amazing experience! We came specifically for the Deas Sea Scroll exhibit while it was here. And it did not disappoint. But for that matter the all of the exhibits throughout the facility we're great. Getting to walk through the Air Force 1 display was pretty cool. I would absolutely recommend a visit!
I am glad I bought the year long pass & I recommend it to anyone that can make the visit twice or that plans a visit to any of the other Presidential libraries. My first trip here was mostly visiting their temporary exhibit but I plan to make another trip this month. I love how the exhibits are set up in different rooms and it is like walking through a timeliness of Reagans life. Getting the opportunity to walk onto Airforce One was a highlight of this trip. Make sure your phone is charged if you take a lot of pictures. 😀
First visit and the experience was amazing in several different ways. The extensive exhibits on the life of the president and the political moments during his terms in office are thorough and well documented. Since it is his presidential library, there are very few references to negative decisions made during his years in office including long term effects of economic decisions. The aircraft exhibits for Air Force One are stunning and the tour of the aircraft is excellent, although I found the design of that portion of the exhibit space to be confusing and difficult to find the exit path from the bottom level of the aircraft exhibits.
Never been to a presidential library before. Learned about a former president. Walked through Air Force One and Marine One. Experienced history in the best way. Do something different and go see a presidential library if there is one near you.
This is my happy place. Simply stated it is dripping with history, inspiration and hope. And when you enter the flight deck of the incomparable Air Force 1 you are transported back in time to a world full of challenges that was hungry for leadership. President Reagan answered the call.
Went to our 4th exhibit at the Library. Dead Sea Scrolls was the featured subject. Very cool & ancient stuff. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Our previous exhibits were FBI, NASCAR & Harley-Davidson. The next one we'll see is the Cowboys!

March 2023 The nice lady that works there explained to me so much. The buildings are still the original and still intact. It is fascinating to see how historical building have been preserved and to see how much society have changed. It is a BIG outdoor area. In certain days you can also tour inside the buildings
I love local history, this place is very important as far as how it used to be. I bought the book on Simi Valley History. I plan to return with friends to introduce them to a wonderful experience. They have an audio tour.
I attended a wedding at this location. It was a beautiful backdrop location for the bride and groom. Outdoor ceremony by the gazebo area. Reception in a larger style "barn" on site that was decorated with lights, tables and and a catering area for the appetizers and entrees. Lots of historical information on this park. Guided tours are offered by local docents. Nice parking lot across the street you can park also. The weather was cooler on this day, so the reception area was a bit chilly. 🌺🌟
My grandparents used to be docents there and used to live there for awhile. I spent most of my early childhood there, I remember racing my grandma from the house to the gate trying to catch up to my mom's car as she would have to go to work and drop me off there. My handprint is there on one of the legs of the windmill. I was only 2 years old at the time when I got to do it back in '97. It's cool to be a part of history and have so many memories of that place, only to realize that it's a historical part of Simi Valley and California but at the time when I was a kid, I just thought it was my grandparents house. My grandparent's handprints, my mom and older brother's handprints are also on a leg of the windmill. Grandparents are Norman and Neva Helmuth. I visit this place every year on my grandma's birthday and the day she passed away in remembrance of her since she passed away 10 years ago. This place has changed so much since my grandparents had worked there and lived there but I can still remember how it used to look. Beautiful place. Amazing memories. I'll be visiting in a couple of hours today since today would be my grandma's birthday
It's free to roam around but I strongly suggest to pay for the tour. It costs just $5, you will know the history of the place and get inside of all historical buildings. Almost everything is original and well preserved. I had an absolutely amazing time! Dorothy, the tour guide was the best, I've seen lots of historical artifacts, furniture and clothes.
Strathearn Park is beautiful, but it's especially so during Christmastime and during special events. We enjoy our trips there. Most recently, we attended a concert performance by the Simi Valley orchestra and choir. During Christmas, they have various choirs singing Christmas songs, visiting with Santa and taking photos, and Christmas goodies and other food for purchase, If you haven't been, it's worth the trip.
We only had time to see two building, but we will be back! Fantastic historical tour.
Absolutely amazing Park a real step back in time incredible buildings and a great variety of true 1890s Western culture here in the Simi Valley area great for venues of any kind

This park is where they shot some old movies and TV shows. You can see exactly where the Lone ranger reared his horse in the theme song. It was so cool
this park is a long dirt trail with many paths. 70% of the time i didn’t know where i was going, i wish there was some directional signs. however this park does have some fun unique features, signs describing the old movie sets here as well as nature facts, and there’s an old horse stage? and a labyrinth i liked. wasn’t a personal favorite of mine but is still interesting.
Has a nice single track trail across from the train tracks that leads to Rocky Trail across the bridge above the freeway about 1.5mi away. Sign says the gates open at 6. Got here at 6:25 and no one around. Saw many cars parked near Rocky Trail roads near the freeway entrance and exit area. Portapotties here but no water fountains.
This was a beautiful park to hike in. There was a labyrinth you can walk that is very relaxing and you can meditate or just have a quiet moment. The hiking trails were nice and the scenery was spectacular. There were also placards throughout the trails that described were movies were filmed. So, a lot of fun if you are a film buff to see all these filming locations. If you are in the area definitely visit here. I had a great time.
This is a fun family experience. We went to see the poppies that have blossomed this spring following a rainy California winter. We traveled to the Antelope Valley last year to see the poppies, but this is much closer. Nature is beautiful here, and there's movie history to see here, too. There are several easy walking trails that are stroller-friendly. The poppies are at the end of the main trail that leads out of the parking lot, on the side of a hill adjacent to the east-bound 118 Ronald Reagan Freeway. We took snacks and rested at a picnic table. There are many beautiful and shady oak trees around.
Such a hidden gem in Simi! Free easy parking, tons of hiking trails, and it's gorgeous all year. My favorite place to take my clients for photos! In Spring if there's rain there's gorgeous mustard flowers and sometimes poppies. In Summer even the dried foliage is really beautiful, and all year there's the incredible rock formations and ruins of movie sets. My Photos:

Very nice place with open trails. Parts of this area were actually movie sets from the early 1940's, Dog friendly. Make sure that you bring water and some good footing. Fantastic Trails I would highly advise. Have fun be safe.

First time with my pup, oh he LOVE IT!! Love that they have two sides for dogs. One side for large dogs 🐕 and one for small dogs 🐶. My pup had a so much fun. He was nervous at first but that all went away right away 😲☺️🥰. Can't wait to come back again 🐶🥰
Honestly have never really have a bad experience at this park. It's always greeted my dog amd I very warmly, the owners are very friendly and the dogs tend to be very playful and friendly too! If there's ever an exception the park is quick to let the owner know so they can correct their dog and if the bad/aggressive behavior continues then possibly get kicked out too. My dog is a super playful and energetic 1 year old Dobie and he's never really had a bad experience there. People and dogs love him and other than a few nips or weird humper dog incidents, nothing crazy. Would totally recommend as it's also really grassy, it's well kept and it tends to be year round!
Simi Dog Park is a fantastic spot for dog owners. The park has separate areas for large and small dogs, giving pets plenty of space to run and play safely. The open layout and shaded seating make it comfortable for both dogs and their owners. The park is clean and well-maintained, with water stations available for the dogs. There aren’t any playgrounds or picnic areas since the focus is mainly on pets, but it’s a perfect place for dogs to socialize and exercise.
great for dogs, humans don't expect a bathroom. My suggestion is to bring an umbrella or two (if you don't like sun or heat). Only one covered bench, 4 benches total. Has an area for small dogs too. Bring s container for 'dog' water, theirs water there for them, humans bring your own drinks, no food. Have fun.
5/15/24: Little windy and chilly today compared to yesterday but no matter what, I always bring my Kiki here. FYI, dress accordingly but since we are at a bit higher altitude, make sure u bring a jacket in the car. FYI#2: When it rains, they close it, even on the following day, so if you are coming from otherside if the valley, plan wisely. 1st time today and we loved it! Clean and ample space for both Big Dogs and the Little Ones with water. Will be back soon.
Really great dog park. Generally you get good owners. Sometimes there are a few bad apples and dogs that reflect that, but most everyone is nice and pays good attention to their dogs while they are playing (We mostly use the small dog side, things are a little more chaotic in the big dog side). It’s well maintained and you can’t beat the views!
Large park in a super quiet and picturesque location. The maintainers really try to keep the grass in good shape. The dog owners seem nice and attentive and remove their dog waste quickly. My only gripe would be more watering stations but I understand the limitations given the area.
One of our favorites so far. Very sociable crowd, both the humans and the dogs. Always helpful having bigs and littles separate. There's some large-dog puppies trying out this whole dog park thing on the small dog side -a great and safe way for a puppy to learn! - owners are very careful that those puppies don't get to be too much for the smaller doggies ☺️. Overall the park is beautiful and has a very spacious and unique layout - on both the little and big dog sides! It worked out well, we were pet sitting a shyer dog who needed some space occasionally, and it was easy, even on a more busy day, to find a quiet corner for her to cool off before going back to play. Can't wait to go back! Ducky and Chloe had a great time😃

Going to this museum I did not expect anything special, but it was a real holiday of emotions! I met wonderful enthusiasts, charismatic storytellers! All these objects, collected with love, reflect life several generations ago. This is a wonderful place to visit with or without children. I will come here again with my friends!
Best depot tour. The docent's enthusiasm and love for the depot is so enjoyable. He gave the best tour, with opportunities to use the telegraph and pull the train horn. I'd recommend stopping here if in Simi Valley. It is a short but enjoyable tour.
Had the most incredible time at this very unplanned and very unexpected perfect museum. The docents were so knowledgeable and took you back to the time period when train travel was making the growth of this country possible. The model trains were so detailed and fun to watch. Highly recommend this stop, not only for kids but adults as well. So good!
Take the tour. The station served the railroads up until the mid-1970s. The historical information and movie memorabilia are worth your time.
If you're a train enthusiast like me or just love historic hot spots this is the place to come. This was not just a depot, but also living quarters of the family station agent and his family. Built by the Southern Pacific railroad and completed on March 1903, closed in May 1974. The museum is now opened to the public, donations to the museum are encouraged as you exit. The conductor will give you a tour of the entire station and living quarters. My photos can speak for themselves.
Saturday July 8th, 2023 Afternoon Great place to bring children and explore the depot and watch trains go past too. Much history of the Santa Susana railroad and area can be found and learned here and there is a model train set too. Tours are available as well. The station is open from 1 to 4 PM.
Amazing hidden gem! My friend and I went here to kill an hour or two and we were not disappointed. Firstly, staff was super nice and eager to educate and answer any train related questions. Lots of very cool history, pictures, maps, and model trains everywhere. One of the members even gave us a tour of their 500-foot long model train set that follows the California coast and up towards Redding. They had their own system of working switches and software to manage it all. The depot itself doesn’t see much rail traffic pass by anymore apparently other than from Metrolink commuter rail and the occasional freight train on the weekends; but we were told in its hayday there were 40+ trains passing through daily. Overall, it seemed like a fun and inclusive place to hang out on a weekend. Definitely would recommend a visit and be sure to bring cash if you want to donate to their museum!
Great for big train and model train enthusiasts. Great docents, interesting history and story of a family, and the model train is a tour in itself. Don't miss.

Camped here for 2 nights. It was nice and quiet except for the peacocks. Showers were good but you have to pay with quarters. Parking spots were large, easy to back in, and a good amount of space in between.
Tapo Canyon Regional Park is a beautiful outdoor spot with wide open space and great scenery. It’s perfect for camping, picnics, and outdoor gatherings. The picnic areas are spacious and shaded, making them great for families. The park is very dog-friendly, and there’s plenty of room to walk or hike with pets. Restrooms are available and well-kept, which makes long visits or camping much easier. While there isn’t a big playground, the main attraction here is the peaceful setting, nature, and open trails.
In route to San Diego from the north ... this was a good stopping point. Park was just a bit out of town in Simi Valley. Site was concrete and very level; had full hookups. We had site #11 which was tucked in the corner among eucalyptus trees. It was a very nice & private site. Bathroom was very clean and they had showers. Seemed like there were people there that may not have been 'camping' per se ... more like temporary housing. Lots of people and cars at some of the sites. We had no problems; it was just an observation. It's a fairly small park, I'd recommend either site #11 or one on outside of loop.
Waste of time, gas, and a parking fee. Google maps shows some very promising trails - which is what I went to check out - but it doesn't show that those trails are only available to the members of the archery club. So for my $5 parking fee, I got to... park. That's all, just park. And it wasn't just me. A few other people who arrived about the same time I did, left about the same time I did, for the same reason I did. I suppose I could write the five bucks off as a charitable donation to Ventura County parks, but I could've done that by mail. And then driven somewhere else for a modest hike...
Beautiful, quiet little campground, in immaculate shape. the sites are large and we'll spaced apart, with great hookups. Very friendly camp host. You'll find it hard to believe it's only minutes away from civilization!
Amazing campground, extremely quiet. Only down fall is theres no wifi or cell service
Found this campground to be quite and clean. Playground next to the camp sites great for the children to play at. No cell service, thankfully we had Starlink for Internet access.
Very nice place to camp and rv. No phone signal although. Bathroom and showers on site. Definitely would go there again.

Gorgeous park with amazing views! The playground is nicely fenced and well maintained. The park is so pretty and clean. This is a very quick getaway near Semi Valley that has gorgeous views of the valley and hills. The baseball fields are nicely maintained as well. Really enjoyed our day here at the playground. Very relaxing and perfect for families!
Very nice park! It has a beautiful view, a gated playground, bathrooms, basketball area, a couple of picnic tables, a few benches, softball fields. Also there’s a dog park up the road. Free entrance, free parking.
Simi Valley Girls Softball. Great fields with lights and snack bar. Spectator benches are covered for shade. Not enough parking sometimes, be careful tickets are given. A little playground is close by with basketball courts. Bathrooms are okay. Dog park is right up the hill.
I love visiting this park. It's quiet. Up in the hills and offers great views. The air seems more fresh up here. It feels 10 degrees cooler than the hot SF valley. Bathrooms are clean, and always have soap.
Great quiet park. Usually there is no one at the playground when I take my toddlers early in the morning. It’s always clean and has amazingly nice views.
My favorite place to let my dogs run up and down the hills. I've been going here for years. There's a lot of very nice people who come to visit.
Gorgeous park with ample space and great view and facilities. Only issue is that the sign says closes at 10pm, but the park ranger comes and kicks people out at 9:15. Or at least when I was there. The photo is the view from the top dog park.
This dog park was not bad. It was really large and had plenty of room for dogs on both the small dog side and large dog. I only saw one pile of poop so pretty clean. Negatives are that it does not have enough parking to accommodate all the patrons. It is also split level and small so a little tasking parking and avoiding dogs and people. There is also no where for alternate dogs. I brought both of my dogs and one is not a dog playing dog but will walk around or play ball. On the website it made it sound like there was space for that outside of the off leash area but there is not. You have to drive back down to the baseball fields for that.

This is a great place for Musical Theater and other types of performers. They have an eclectic array of guest performers who perform here. The musicals put on here are top-notch.
What a delightful surprise. I’ve lived in Simi Valley for over 60 years and attended the Methodist Church that was once located here. We decided to go see a play here one evening, Ragtime, acting, and costumes were excellent. Out of coincidence the very next night they had a comedy and the headliner was excellent. Small and quaint so all the seats are wonderful.
Very nice venue. Many stairs so it is a challenge for anyone who has trouble with them. Live orchestra for the musical Hunchback of Notre Dame. Acoustics are great. Chairs are comfortable and there are refreshments served during intermission. One bathroom at accessible level (just one). People are friendly and they take volunteers.
Hidden gem here in simi. They put on amazing musicals! Just saw Hairspray and what a talented group. Highly recommend. We also attend the comedy night once a month.
I love this place!! We are so fortunate to have this gem of a theatre in our community. I come here often, never had a show that wasn't enjoyable.
Beautiful Place with great cultural activities that are performed in the city at various times for city entertainment. I highly recommend the Theater Arts for everyone!
This is a great price ($40) to see a magnificent production. My GF and I saw Hairspray, we both thought very highly of it. 👍💯🔥

Fascinating place. Well worth visiting. The docents had fun stories about her. Grandma Prisbrey was way ahead of her time.
Not much to see from the street. Unfortunately, their web site lists tour dates from 2019, nothing more recent than that.
Bottle Village IS Simi Valley. The stupid city council and mayor have allowed it to become destroyed. Thank God I don’t live in the city of Simi anymore. Bottle village was and what’s left of it is the very example of what culture exists in this city.
I live next door to Grandma; in fact, in 70's I used to drive from Moorpark all the way to see her. She was always sweeping the front sidewalk and she would always wave the motorists driving by. Some of the neighborhood kids used to tease yell at her calling her "crazy". Typical from unsupervised kids!
It wasn't open, but from what we could see this is a gem that could use a little polishing
I've been walking or riding a bike by it for years.
