Beautiful area. Three major falls, Upper, Middle and the biggest, Lower. Not too bad of a hike to visit all three and one smaller one above the Upper Falls. Some steep areas, but nothing terrible. Would not recommend for anyone with walking issues. Construction going on while I was there. Limited parking.
So cool. Parking was full so waited a little to get a spot but not too long. There’s a path to walk to the falls or you can take the side of the mountain natural path. We went that way with our two little kids it was pretty strenuous but really fun! There’s a few places to see the falls. Beautiful
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A hidden masterpiece of Tennessee’s natural beauty! Burgess Falls is one of those rare places where nature feels like art in motion. The cascading waterfalls, surrounded by lush greenery and rugged cliffs, create a scene so breathtaking that it almost feels painted. The trail leading to the main falls is scenic and peaceful, offering plenty of spots to pause, breathe, and soak in the serenity. For photographers and artists, this place is pure inspiration — it’s one of the best locations in Tennessee to draw or capture portraits. The lighting through the trees, the mist around the falls, and the natural textures make every frame look picture-perfect. Whether you’re into nature photography, sketching landscapes, or just enjoying a peaceful walk, Burgess Falls will not disappoint. There’s ample parking space and it’s well-maintained, making your visit smooth and stress-free. You can even enjoy camping nearby, which turns your day trip into a beautiful overnight adventure under the stars. Every sound of the rushing water and chirping birds reminds you why nature is the best artist of all. Burgess Falls isn’t just a destination — it’s an experience that reconnects you with nature’s creativity and calm. A must-visit for every nature lover and art enthusiast!
Fairly simple yet natural hike to see all three falls. They are beautiful. You can get into the river near the parking lot/Pavillion use area. There is a gravel road to the lookout for Burgess Falls. RV park right next to the falls and hiking trail. Our Starlink would have worked nicely at the RV park due to minimal trees around the sites.
The creek and 3 waterfalls were so beautiful! The trails were medium skill level. I only say that keeping in mind those who may have ankle or knee issues. The height of steps on the trail are different heights and lots of tree roots. Parking is HORRIBLE though, hardly any parking!!!
Beautiful, with trails that are highly accessible. There are steps and rocks on the trails, if you have any issues walking. But there are grated roadways for those who don't feel like hiking. I didn't see anything wheelchair accessible, but if you can walk on mostly flat surfaces, you can get to at least two of the falls from the parking area. I'll do more exploring today because I got into town late and didn't have much time before the park closed last night. It closes at 6. I don't know if that's all year round, out just for the fall and winter months.
Absolutely stunning!! We went to the cascades as well as all of the falls, and it was well worth the hike. The cascades are right off of the parking lot, but there is a trail to periodically reach 3 falls. It is 3/4 of a mile and mixes inclines and declines + lots of stairs. I would rate this a 15/10
We went on a weekday so it wasn’t so crowded. Even for a popular spot it was impressive. Lovely walk and it seems like they support swimming at the falls nearest the parking. The large fall they say no swimming at and looking at the climb, it seems epically dangerous to get to the base of the large fall 😞🚫 Don’t forget to check out the old dam!

What a cool place. Great beer, great hosts, great location to just hang out. I had heard about this place from a friend who said it was a must see. He was right. And if I'm ever in this area again, I will make sure to visit.
This funky cool craft brewery is a combo of great beers in a fantastic hang out. Outdoor seating galore, wonky parking lot, limited hours, food truck and tons of crafty swag for sale made this a must visit if you're close. The beers, small selection, were all good. Rita and Brandy were awesome (even though i messed up my Brandy joke) and the whole place has a diners, drive ins and dives feel. The brothers who own the place were pretty cool too. Here's the Breakdown: Killer beers in a funky cool spot with friendly staff and owners +5 stars. This is like a Michelin Star restaurant - if you are within reasonable driving distance and are cool with 10-4 hours you've got to go.
Wish I could give 10 stars! What an amazing place. Beers are delicious and unique. This is the heart of what craft brewing has always been about imo. Rita is an absolute gem and a true brand ambassador. Can't wait to go back.
Best brewery ever!! Have been here twice so far and both times were great! The atmosphere is gorgeous - so many neat spots to sit in a treehouse lawn vibe. The staff are friendly and provide great service. The beers are super tasty And affordable!!! They usually have a food truck on the weekends, too.
The most beautiful outdoor beer garden!!! So pretty in shade under big beautiful trees. Lots of tables and chairs. Beautiful setting. Great friendly staff! Great beer! Cool decor and local artwork. One of our favorite breweries ever been to!
Relaxing and chill atmosphere, their beers are unlike any around, top notch products. Sign up for a tour, lot of fun! Their staff is incredible, friendly and knowledgeable! and the Saturday food trucks are always great!
First visit for us. Loved it! Visiting our family and was invited here by our grandson. 🍺 Good call! The owners and staff are so friendly 👍 The beer is SO good! The food truck served delicious brisket along with other goodies 😋 We will be back.
Had a phenomenal time here. Toni the bartender was a joy! She took us on a tasting tour of their four beers and we liked all of them. Great vibe - outdoor and indoor space. Loved this place and will definitely be back!

I was immediately welcomed by Rick. He was brimming with knowledge and passion for the Rock House. What really prompted me to write a review was the kindness he showed when I was gone far too long wandering through the road/trail that is at the head of the carriage house. He stayed several hours after to make sure I made it back. I returned to the sound of my name being called and law enforcement checking for me. I can’t thank him enough for being concerned and looking out for me; especially considering what I later learned has taken place in the woods in that area. So thank you again to Rick and the Rock House. I will never forget his kindness and I am sorry for the ruckus I caused!
A true gem! Fantastic guide! The gentleman who leads you through the journey in time is an historian and a great storyteller. My husband’s family had a role in the history of the Rock House and artifacts from my family are on display inside. I didn’t even know!! This Little Rock House is well worth a visit. I plan to return with friends from around the country and from other countries when they visit us. This place is a real glimpse of America’s early development.
We were created by Rick. He is a very knowledgeable historian. He gave a full detail on the history of the Rock House and answered all our questions (which were many). Rick also gave us directions to another water fall that was close, Lost Creek. This historical gem is worth stopping to check out.
Does not look like much from the outside, but it's loaded with history. I definitely learned a few new things. Thanks to the man taking care of the site, he's a wealth of information.
Rick is a very good historian and storyteller. Very welcoming!
This can be somewhat easy to miss if you're not paying attention to the road signs. There is a guided tour for the house. The man there was extremely knowledgeable and helpful while I visited there. There is no cost to have the tour. They do ask for donations to help for the cost of their liability insurance and electricity, however they do not put any pressure on you whether or not you donate. Unfortunately I did not have much cash on me but I did donate. I think it best if everyone donated $5 or $10 though. It's a small part of Americana history that would be an absolute shame to lose. If you're traveling through, don't be afraid to stop by. It'll be worth it
All kinds of history , the guys who give tour are so informed and enjoy their position , we walked the property ( the old stables and barn area and where the stage driver's grave

We stumbled across this great little winery and pizza spot in Tennessee and are so glad we did! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the wine was absolutely delicious. The owner and his sweet dog made the experience even better, along with the wonderful lady who guided us through the tastings—she was so knowledgeable and kind. The pizza was the perfect pairing with the wine, fresh and flavorful. Such a hidden gem! We would totally recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
Very friendly staff. A good variety of wines and ciders. Easy spot to fine. Tastings available. Plenty of space.
Great little place to do some tastings. Many of the wines and ciders are on the sweet side, so if you like sweet wines, you won't be disappointed. We spoke with the owner, and he talked with us about sourcing grapes and how he makes the wines and ciders. There is a small gift shop with unique items. We left with a white, red, and a growler of cider. Plus, there's a great great Dane named Bo!
The vineyard was the perfect place to stop on our drive to Nashville. The owner was welcoming and knowledgeable. The wines were all very good and the pomegranate cider was the best cider I’ve had. The property has nice outdoor seating with great views.
We found an absolute gem tucked away in the rolling hills of central Tennessee. Just a few minutes south of Cookeville and I-40, you’ll find one of the area’s friendliest wineries.
Amazing owners...hosted a baby shower here, and the setting couldn't have been more perfect! If I lived closer, this would be my go-to place for other events, especially a wedding! They have free tastings of their yummy wines and hard ciders and the cutest little store with all sorts of goodies!
First time here and visiting from Minnesota. Vicky, who was our server was amazing! She was so much fun walking us through the wines and ciders. We definitely found some good wines and ciders. Pizza was good and we were happy to support a family business.
We are traveling through and had some time. Stopped here to try some wine and hard cider. Wow! What a great experience! Bought a good bit and wasn't expensive! Thank you!

Great location for just about any hiker. Trails from easy to difficult. Beautiful mountains, gorgeous water fall. Abundance of natural elements for anyone wanting that environment around them. The great thing is that this is now a state park. With some 30+ miles of trails, with more to come, I'm sure. Don't forget to visit Welch overlook. Overnight hikes are available by appointment. What more could you ask for. Go ingulp yourself in nature. You will not regret this.
Beautiful place, but don’t underestimate the difficulty of the hike. Slippery rocks, plenty of mud & steep climbs. We returned by the newly opened Hemlock Springs trail- a nice way to return. This park is very popular but offers seclusion as well. The campsites are also beautiful but require preregistration.
Great park with beautiful waterfalls and a nice network of trails and back country campsites for backpacking. Be warned there's lots of poison ivy along most of the trails so take proper precautions. Best time to visit is after a good rainfall so the waterfalls are pumping. We got lucky with some great volume going over the falls.
Absolutely pristine area—nature at its finest. The hike is definitely strenuous, clocking in at 9 miles round trip and taking about 5 hours total, including a well-deserved lunch break at Virgin Falls. The waterfall is breathtaking and made every step worth it. A challenging but incredibly rewarding adventure!
Hiked virgin fall loop as part of a 2 night camping trip. Camping is available by reservation in designated campsites. Besides the viewing point for the fall, you can hike to the top and bottom of the fall. Water from the fall wasn’t too strong on the day we went (end of July) so we were able to go behind the fall. There is a large hole on the left side so keep to the right. Hike back to the parking lot is uphill and considered hard by many hikers. I hiked this my wife and kids ( 9 & 10) in full backpacking gear. Leave early enough to explore sheep cave and , time permitting , hike to caney river and swim at the rope swing.
Very beautiful waterfalls. It is moderate - difficult hike. You will find 3 waterfalls along the hike and you'll be walking along the valley. It is very scenic. Around 4.5 miles one-way. It might take around 4 to 5 hrs to compete the hike( to & fro)
Not for those with mobility or balance issues as there are plenty of areas with narrow paths and/or large rocks and boulders to climb. However, this has been my favorite middle TN hike so far, with a rewarding 110 foot waterfall at the mid-point. You will burn a lot of calories and will need plenty of water (at least a liter per person), so come prepared. With a relaxing lunch break and stops for photos, it took us just over 5 hours to do 9.3 miles.
One of my favorite places to hike. Strenuous hike for most. Great in any season with overlooks, river and waterfalls.

Great scenic overlook off of highway 70. Has a covered picnic table. A few parking spaces too. Excellent for stargazing watching sunsets and getting fresh air.
Beautiful scenery. Graffiti on the rocks behind is horrific. Also the picnic area could stand to be cleaner.
Everyone should see this beauty at least once in their lives! Absolutely breath taking!
Great spot to see a sunset. Graffiti is rather unfortunate.
Very beautiful views of the plateau. Not too far away plus it's an easy drive up the mountain. Definitely worth a visit!
Beautiful stop... be awesome if people would not spray and write graffiti on property. Else wise breathe taking views.
Beautiful but can’t take any pics with our nasty graffiti being everywhere I moved here just as they were cleaning it for it to open an nasty trashy problematic hood rats ruin this beautiful place
Very pretty view, even on a foggy, rainy day. Some trash on the ground though. Easy stop and a waterfall down the road.

Wonderful tour! The ladies were so knowledgeable and engaging. So many details throughout the history of White County. We truly enjoyed visiting.
So many things to look at! You can definitely can spend over an hour here. The ladies who worked here were knowledgeable helpful and friendly. Our daughter loved the schoolhouse room and train!
What a special place this is! We were privileged to be guided by Ms. Peggy, one of the founders of this incredible museum. She has so much passion for keeping local history alive and sharing stories that would otherwise have been forgotten. The museum is well-organized and maintained. It is a small museum, but with the stories behind some of the artifacts that she shared with us, two hours flew by and we had such an amazing time! Please ask for a guided tour when you visit :-)
Came here with my neighbor. It is small, but well worth the trip. The different rooms have memorabilia from different wars and conflicts, so great to see the hand-written letters, photos, and newspaper print. Great place.
Great place to learn about.White County's history . #kelliejollyharper #davidculley #ethanroberts #lesterflatt #bennymartin #earlwebb #dalefarley #stanmitchell #terrybradshaw #blakewilliams #yert
Really small, but very informative museum. The people who manage it really care. Free admission too.
Great place with lots of local history and one of a kind artifacts. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Talked to one of the owners and she was a plethora of knowledge andinformation. Definitely worth more than one visit and it's great for kids, especially those that like trains.
We took our 2 grandson's, they were redoing some stuff, But we're going back as soon as possible!!!But what a grand time we had,Please everyone should go at least once,or like at least 10 times, I love it,and U Will Too!!!!

Great golf course and worth every penny they charge. Grounds crew does a great job with upkeep and the staff was very friendly. I talked to the woman at the pro shop for awhile after my round. I got there at 8am and nobody else teed off until 9am, so I basically had the place to myself. Is it a bit pricey? Yeah. You pay for what you get though and that's a great golf course! I'll be back soon!
This course was a hidden gem just a few years ago. You had to drive out of your way to get there, but the price was fair and the views stunning. Staying overnight in their condos was a reasonable $90 for accommodations in the country. Fast forward a couple of years, new ownership has tanked any credibility this course had. Rates tripled, overnight lodging rates are more than tripled (for the exact same accommodations). Totally tone deaf to the region around them. Unfortunate what golf is becoming in TN.
We had lunch at the clubhouse prior to golfing. The service was fantastic. We had sushi that was really good. The Mac n Cheese balls were fantastic. The burgers were charred and over cooked but they have the best crinkle fries I’ve had. The golf course is expensive. It was $125 per person and they don’t have any amenities. We golfed on a Saturday afternoon and it felt like we were the only ones on the course. Fairways and greens were in good shape and there is some beautiful views. They also don’t accept any cash. Everything is card only and they charge an automatic 18% gratuity and that includes the drink cart.
A MUST STOP We went in yesterday and we're BLOWN AWAY!! The service is on point 👉 The food VERY 👍 The atmosphere GORGEOUS Can't wait to play a round on Tuesday. Very excited to have a top notch golf course and restaurant only 20mins from the house. I've been back since my first visit to play golf. A MUST PLAY GOLF COURSE ⛳️ So beautiful WOW
Riverwatch sits perched high above Tennessee’s largest body of water, Center Hill Lake. The course is cut from the natural landscape and the holes tend to follow the contours of the land. The rolling hillsides and picturesque plateaus paint a picture on each hole and do a great job of melding golf and nature. No two holes are alike, many of the holes are tree-lined, with sharp drop-offs if you push your shot beyond the tree line. Dramatic elevation changes, testing doglegs, well-manicured Zoysia fairways, and well-placed bunkers lead to Bentgrass greens. Bunkers have been strategically placed and come into play off the tees and around the green complexes. Many of the bunkers are still a work in progress while the greens are incredible; lush, well-maintained and roll true. Each hole seems to get a little more challenging as you make your way around the course. This 18-hole championship golf course was designed by PGA TOUR professional Peter Jacobsen and his course architect partner Jim Hardy. The original owners deviated from the course’s original routing: what is currently the 3rd hole was designed to be the first hole and the current design’s first and second holes were added to the layout. When you play the course the integration is seamless; it’s hard to believe the first two holes weren’t part of the original plans. The 3rd hole is one of the tougher holes on the course. It’s an uphill par 5 dogleg right that requires an accurate tee shot and a layup shot that finds the narrow tree-lined fairway. Had this remained the first hole, I think it a lot of golfers would have been extremely challenged right out of the gate and it may have soured them on the rest of their round. Riverwatch has several memorable holes. The front nine ends with a testing par 3 that plays 183 yards from the gold tees. There’s water and sand left so if you’re going to miss, hit it right. The green sits at an angle and the difference between a front and back pin can be 2 or 3 clubs. Holes 11 – 15 can make or break your round and includes two or the course’s three toughest holes. Number 11 is a 329-yard, slight dogleg right with a blind tee shot. Hit a good drive down the left side, catch the downslope and you may find your drive on or close to the green. It’s a great chance to put up a low number and get the back nine going early. Number 12 is a 500-yard par 5 with a slight dogleg right. It’s a semi-blind tee shot and anything left is probably gone. You can bail out to the right if need be but if you hit it down the hill on 13, pack a lunch; it’s a long hike back up the hill! Hit a good drive, avoid the bunkers on the right and you can conceivably get home in two. The green is protected by a single pot bunker front left. Par or better is a great score here and gets you ready for what’s next. Number 13 is Riverwatch’s toughest test. The hole plays 416 yards downhill off the tee and the entire fairway slopes right to left. Play down the right side and it’s pretty much a given that you’ll be playing from the left side of the fairway. Anything hit down the left is pretty much gone. A good drive will leave a mid to short iron uphill over a stone wall to an elevated green protected in front by bunkers on either side. Take a par – or bogie – and run! Number 15 is a dogleg left, 375-yard par 4 that is the course’s #3 handicap. The hole starts to turn around the 200-yard mark so unless a draw is in your shot repertoire, you may want to consider something less than driver off the tee. Your approach shot plays downhill to a medium-sized green. Finishing the hole with the same ball you started with goes a long way in posting a good score on this hole. Your round ends on another scenic Riverwatch hole. Number 18 is a 458-yard par 5 that requires tremendous accuracy off the tee. Hit a good drive down the middle of the fairway off the tee and you could find yourself with the opportunity to get on in two. The green sits at an angle to the fairway and is protected by a large bunker front right. Par – or better – is a great way to end your round.
Beautifully maintained with amazing views. The routing was a little weird. The 9th hole ended roughly a half mile from the club house, so it was a trek to get any food between 9's, and 18 plays away from the clubhouse. Also no restrooms on the course. No gps or pictures of the holes on the scorecard so it was your best guess as where to play to. I had a skycaddie but it had Riverwatch on it which was the previous name of the course and a different routing, so it was useless to use. The only reason it gets 3 stars is for how well the course is maintained and the views
Great menu. Everything was on point, except the oysters. Crack, dip in water, open, dip again, then separate the muscle. Im not paying retail for grit and shell in my mouth boy. Bland too. Coming off like new money on Friday. Other than that this place is money.
I’ve played 50 courses in the last 3 years. That being said, there’s no way in hell this course should be the same price as Sequoya National. There’s plenty of good golf in the area, no point over paying for a mediocre course.

Drove by and randomly decided to stop in. They happened to be doing trivia for Father’s Day so I ended up hanging out and joining on with the bar team. Everyone was super friendly and made me feel very welcome. Both beers I had were great, I tried the blackberry sour and rock hop IPA and would happily recommend either. From the sounds of it, the food is also very good, but I did not end up having any myself. I will definitely be making a stop here again if I’m driving through Sparta!
Super place to come for a beer, food & anything else you want. They not only make and have 8-9 of their own on tap, but guest taps & cans too. As good as the food is, time to step up to real plates & silverware for civilized meals. Paper & plastic worked during COVID - but not for me. If I were local here, I would find reasons to come in and hang out. Alas, not local, not even in state. But take the path less travelled and come here for great beer & sandwiches. ADA compliant & clean restrooms.
If you're in Sparta Tennessee, you need to stop by Happy Trails Brewery & Taproom. This place was very cool. Staff were friendly and answered any and all questions I had. My choice of beer was the Warrior, very good. The pretzel bites were very good.
Love this spot. This is one of my favorite breweries. Great place to grab a drink, something to eat, and hang out. Always fun events or live music going on here. Great selection of beer and hard cider. Great atmosphere with spots for indoor and outdoor seating. The service at the bar and in the restaurant is great!
Enjoyed this microbrewery. They offered a wide selection of microbrews brewed regionally along with some others, naturally including their homemade varieties. Sampled the Pale Ale and ordered a cheeseburger and fries that were quite yummy.
You know, for bar food this place was quite a suprise! We frequent Sparta a lot ant typically go to Marioochi’s Pizzeria On The Square but the wait was almost an hour and we were hungry. The burgers were great the menu was nothing extensive but thats not always a bad thing. We also got the tader tot app which was good! Id definitely go back. The cider was great and the beer was nice too!
Super cute outdoorsy brewery, nice atmosphere and friendly staff!
Nice atmosphere to show off tattoos. It’s a microbrewery with a walk-up kitchen. The burgers were okay but both way overcooked. There’s an up charge for fries or onion rings. We will definitely come back to try other items.

Great place for the family to see together..
A great place that helps preserve history within the coal miners realm. All the members are wonderful and put so much care and concern into what they do.
One of the nicest places to visit. Lots of history and the people that run it are very knowledgeable of the area.
Only problem is you have to be a member to get in anytime, or wait till you catch it open to public

Nice little off the map spot for some really good food. Ordered two large pizzas, one hand tossed and one thin crust. While waiting got a sample of the cornbread salad and it is very good. The wait on the pizzas was about 20 minute but they were very busy. Staff was very attentive. Pizza was pretty pretty good. I liked the thin crust over the hand tossed but the crust on both were proper. The cheese and toppins were of good quality. The sauce was not too spicy and was tasty but needed a little add of salt to my tasting. Overall I give the little country gem 5 stars as they met every mark for delivering quality food and quality service.
After spending the afternoon at Red Clay State Park yesterday, my boyfriend and I stopped by this cute little hole in the wall Deli. The food was amazing and the people were so sweet and helpful. It’s off the beaten path but totally worth the trip. I had the meatloaf sandwich and he had another sandwich, but they were both delicious. We will definitely drop back in when nearby.
Aloha Teriyaki pizza for the win!!! It’s so good, but all their food is really good. Thank you Grey Flower Deli
We had pizza and side salads. Very good food. The people working there were friendly and helpful. My only issue, like many restaurants and other businesses, is the lack of restroom facilities. One toilet for all customers and employees? Employees should have there own restroom, in my opinion... which is what this post is all about!
All I can say is YUM 👯 We drove down from Charleston, TN after seeing a sign on the back roads coming home from Chattanooga a couple months ago which caused me to Google this place. Everything online looked so good and It totally lived up to the hype!! We got a bunch of dishes for our family to share and we ate so much 🤣delicious pepperoni pizza, garlic bread with sauce that was absolutely some of the best and super cheesy with a sweet tomato sauce, a Reuben that I only got a bite of because they all devoured it (love that they use boar's head meats), and 3 kids ham and cheese sandwiches that were all gone by the time we left. The kids portion sizes were spot on! The staff was so friendly and came out to ask how the meal was and the environment was very comfortable, like dining at a friend's. We are gonna try and go back once a month ❤️ worth the drive ☺️
This place is awesome. First of all... they have Southern Hospitality to a 10/10. Second... their pizza is great. I had the all meat pizza and the topping portions were excellent with great flavor and the right amount of cheese. We were given breadsticks and they were fantastic. My wife ordered a BLT Sandwich which she said was delicious with the right amount of ingredients. They were incredibly busy the entire time we sat there but still made it a point to talk to us occasionally. We also noted that they had more friendly customers than many similar places... everything just felt right. We will definitely be coming back to try the wings and also having pizza and wings delivered in the future.
If you are looking for a good old-fashioned, home cooking made with love kind of restaurant.. this is it! They had smoked a pork butt this morning and we had delicious barbecue for lunch. Everybody here was extremely happy and it makes you feel like home. In one picture they are cutting me freshly baked cake for a customer and I love the fresh flowers on the table! Definitely worth the drive if it's out of the way!
Absolutely LOVE this place! Soooooo delicious. Fresh ingredients, great service, in a down-home, small town atmosphere.
