Waterfalls
Burgess Falls State Park boasts of four waterfalls that cascade into a large pool via foot trails with varying levels of difficulty, ranging from moderate to strenuous. The park is incredibly beautiful and also features hiking trails, a butterfly garden, a playground for children, and a store in close proximity. Visitors are encouraged to visit the park at least once as it is an absolute must-see destination for waterfall enthusiasts.
During our last visit, in July 2025, there was construction going on to improve the experience for visitors but what that does is severely limit parking availability. We arrived just after opening on a Saturday and there were already several cars parked. When we returned from our hike there were cars circling the parking lot waiting for a spot to open up. The hike was very nice and there were some steep parts, especially down to the top of the lower falls, but not impossible by any means. The trails were well maintained and we really enjoyed our visit.
Tim B — Google review
Beautiful area. Three major falls, Upper, Middle and the biggest, Lower. Not too bad of a hike to visit all three and one smaller one above the Upper Falls. Some steep areas, but nothing terrible. Would not recommend for anyone with walking issues. Construction going on while I was there. Limited parking.
MITCH C — Google review
So cool. Parking was full so waited a little to get a spot but not too long. There’s a path to walk to the falls or you can take the side of the mountain natural path. We went that way with our two little kids it was pretty strenuous but really fun! There’s a few places to see the falls. Beautiful

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A hidden masterpiece of Tennessee’s natural beauty! Burgess Falls is one of those rare places where nature feels like art in motion. The cascading waterfalls, surrounded by lush greenery and rugged cliffs, create a scene so breathtaking that it almost feels painted. The trail leading to the main falls is scenic and peaceful, offering plenty of spots to pause, breathe, and soak in the serenity. For photographers and artists, this place is pure inspiration — it’s one of the best locations in Tennessee to draw or capture portraits. The lighting through the trees, the mist around the falls, and the natural textures make every frame look picture-perfect. Whether you’re into nature photography, sketching landscapes, or just enjoying a peaceful walk, Burgess Falls will not disappoint. There’s ample parking space and it’s well-maintained, making your visit smooth and stress-free. You can even enjoy camping nearby, which turns your day trip into a beautiful overnight adventure under the stars. Every sound of the rushing water and chirping birds reminds you why nature is the best artist of all. Burgess Falls isn’t just a destination — it’s an experience that reconnects you with nature’s creativity and calm. A must-visit for every nature lover and art enthusiast!
Aditya A — Google review
WOW! The Burgess falls are most impressive. Be prepared to be in awe of this spectacular view of these majestic waterfalls. Make sure to bring a backpack with a light lunch, water, and proper shoes as the hike to the top is somewhat strenuous. Parking can be a challenge on busy weekends.
Dragonfly A — Google review
The creek and 3 waterfalls were so beautiful! The trails were medium skill level. I only say that keeping in mind those who may have ankle or knee issues. The height of steps on the trail are different heights and lots of tree roots. Parking is HORRIBLE though, hardly any parking!!!
Shine R — Google review
This is one of my favorite park. I really love the trail but can be little busy during weekends and summer. If I get a chance I will surely visit again.
Archana N — Google review
A must visit! Easy hike down the length of the trail and see all four waterfalls. Go after a rain and you will be treated with heavy flows of water with roaring sounds only nature can offer. 20' Cascades: A small set of cascades near the start of the trail. 30' Upper Falls: The second waterfall you will see on the trail. 80' Middle Falls: The third waterfall, which is a significant drop. 136' Lower Falls: The tallest and most dramatic waterfall in the park

Visitors can enjoy a variety of delightful wines and tasty hard ciders while taking in the beautiful outdoor seating and great views. The property also features a rescue Great Dane, adding to the lovely experience. Guests can take home bottles of wine, jam, or even a wine glass as souvenirs from this lovely location.
We stumbled across this great little winery and pizza spot in Tennessee and are so glad we did! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the wine was absolutely delicious. The owner and his sweet dog made the experience even better, along with the wonderful lady who guided us through the tastings—she was so knowledgeable and kind. The pizza was the perfect pairing with the wine, fresh and flavorful. Such a hidden gem! We would totally recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Very friendly staff. A good variety of wines and ciders. Easy spot to fine. Tastings available. Plenty of space.
Jeff S — Google review
Great little place to do some tastings. Many of the wines and ciders are on the sweet side, so if you like sweet wines, you won't be disappointed. We spoke with the owner, and he talked with us about sourcing grapes and how he makes the wines and ciders. There is a small gift shop with unique items. We left with a white, red, and a growler of cider. Plus, there's a great great Dane named Bo!

The vineyard was the perfect place to stop on our drive to Nashville. The owner was welcoming and knowledgeable. The wines were all very good and the pomegranate cider was the best cider I’ve had. The property has nice outdoor seating with great views.

We found an absolute gem tucked away in the rolling hills of central Tennessee. Just a few minutes south of Cookeville and I-40, you’ll find one of the area’s friendliest wineries.

Amazing owners...hosted a baby shower here, and the setting couldn't have been more perfect! If I lived closer, this would be my go-to place for other events, especially a wedding! They have free tastings of their yummy wines and hard ciders and the cutest little store with all sorts of goodies!

First time here and visiting from Minnesota. Vicky, who was our server was amazing! She was so much fun walking us through the wines and ciders. We definitely found some good wines and ciders. Pizza was good and we were happy to support a family business.

Drive-in movie theater
Sparta Drive-In Theater offers a nostalgic and unique movie-watching experience, allowing visitors to enjoy current films from the comfort of their cars under the stars. The theater provides a range of concessions including hamburgers, nachos, and popcorn for an authentic drive-in experience. With affordable prices and the opportunity to watch two movies in one visit, it's a great option for families or couples looking for a fun night out.
The Sparta drive in is an absolute gem. I love this place with all my heart and I have nothing but good things to say about it and the kind people that work there. I can't wait to go again and again and again again! ❤️ We love you, Sparta drive in!
Callazandra Z — Google review
I was just there tonight and this was the worst experience ever. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. We got there tonight at 6pm around 6:30 I realized that the movie wasn’t going to start until 8pm. This was partially my fault because I didn’t check sunset, but from past experience it usually happened at 7 & is when they would start the movie. Well I went up to speak to someone with plenty of time. The movie didn’t start until 8:30 so I spoke to someone two hours before the movie even started and asked for a refund to leave. My kids were already getting antsy and would not have made it another two hrs. I was told there was nothing they could do about it and I was not able to get a refund. So I stuck it out, got out of the car and let my kids run around to kill time. A little before the movie started we made our way back to our car and got settled in for the movie. The movie didn’t start for another 30 minutes or so. During this time they had already started to play commercials etc and my kids and I were finally settled down and comfortable. Well right as the movie starts this guy next to us decides to bang on my car and tells me to turn off my lights. My lights aren’t automatic so the lights were already off, but the bottom orange lights were on, I couldn’t figure out how to turn them off and while I was trying to figure it out this guy gets up and decides to complain about me. Well then the manager comes out to tell me the same thing that I need to turn off my lights. While we are trying to figure out how to turn them off the same guy complains yet again that my engine is loud! This guy decides to wait until the movie has started to make all these complaints. After everything I went through to get my kids settled and comfortable, we couldn’t even enjoy 5 minutes of the movie and now I was being told to turn off my car when I had my car on to listen to the movie on my radio and stay cool with A/C on. Now I’m being completely inconvenienced because we can no longer hear the movie, it’s hot outside with a 12month, 2year old and 5 year old. I then again ask if I can just leave and get a refund since we can no longer enjoy the movie and once again I am told no! Well we left either way, because there was no way we would’ve enjoyed the movie and I will definitely not be going back. Sparta drive in, you have ruined drive ins for me! Sad to say because the several other times I went with my kids I thought I found a loophole to finally being able to enjoy movies with littles, I guess not.
Keila A — Google review
I recently visited Sparta Drive-In, and while I always enjoy the nostalgia and charm of a drive-in theater, this experience left quite a bit to be desired. First off, I was genuinely surprised by how small the screen was. I've been to other drive-ins before, and this was by far the smallest screen I’ve seen. It made it harder to really get into the movie, especially from farther back in the lot. A drive-in is all about the big-screen experience, and unfortunately, this one fell short in that department. The concessions were also underwhelming. I got a hot dog that tasted watery and bland—it honestly felt like they used the cheapest ones possible while still charging the price you'd expect for something much better. The onion rings were the one bright spot; they were freshly made and actually quite good. But overall, the food felt like a missed opportunity. One major issue was the blinking light down the road that kept shining onto the left side of the screen. It was incredibly distracting and took away from the movie. I actually took a video of it because it was noticeable. Something like that really needs to be addressed, especially since it impacts the viewing experience for anyone on that side. The restroom situation was probably the worst part of the night. At one point, the line to the bathroom was over 30 minutes long. When I finally got in, the place was dirty and completely out of paper towels. For a venue showing two movies in one night, they really need to be cleaning and restocking the bathrooms multiple times. It was just unacceptable. I will say that the one redeeming quality was the affordability. Ticket prices were reasonable, and if you’re just looking for a low-cost night out with a nostalgic vibe, it might still be worth it for some. That said, there’s a lot of room for improvement—from basic maintenance to the overall viewing experience. With a little more attention to detail and care, Sparta Drive-In could be a much better destination.
Kate L — Google review
Price is great. Staff at the gate was so rude and unfriendly and this place has gone to crap. Between the constant cars coming in after the movie started to people leaving their lights on and having no regard for other folks. The place smelled of horse manure. Someone was burning near by so the place was filled with smoke and apparently someone had ran over a skunk before pulling in. So needless to say we won't be returning nor recommending anyone.

The White County Fair Association hosts an annual event in Sparta that offers a lively experience with carnival rides, live music, agricultural exhibits, and delicious fair food. The fair is a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy a fun-filled day. While parking may be limited, the well-maintained venue features various outdoor locations for horse events. Although there are no ATMs on-site, nearby gas stations provide convenience.

They do a great job the fair is something families look forward to all year. My wife grew up in Chattanooga and they didn't have anything like this. The fair they had was more crafts. Here it's kind of like getting a six flags in your town for a week.

A great location unfortunately it does have limited parking.. I had a table at a gun show and the clientele was very respectable. The building although old is still in good shape. There are several different outdoor locations For horse events. Unfortunately there are no ATM's at the location but there are several gas stations nearby.

I go because I have kids, and they have friends. I don't have any friends, but I did have a job, and that job makes money, and some of that money was used, that week, for admission, food, and stamps. I didn't talk to anyone. I just sat there. Sad. Alone. Crying in my cotton candy. I didn't eat it. I was hoping that it would be a colorful conversation piece. It wasn't. I dropped it. A kid yells out, "party foul!" I smile at him, he called me a loser. I went to the petting zoo. I bought food for the animals. They didn't even want the food I bought for them, and wouldn't let me pet them. To beat all, my brand new, white New Balance shoes got stained up by the red clay.

Not too bad. The stadium seats were all dirty with red dust. The only fair in the surrounding counties that had a demolition derby. Interesting to see, but not very exciting. Seemed like everything was in slow motion.

Great golf course and worth every penny they charge. Grounds crew does a great job with upkeep and the staff was very friendly. I talked to the woman at the pro shop for awhile after my round. I got there at 8am and nobody else teed off until 9am, so I basically had the place to myself. Is it a bit pricey? Yeah. You pay for what you get though and that's a great golf course! I'll be back soon!
Derek B — Google review
This course was a hidden gem just a few years ago. You had to drive out of your way to get there, but the price was fair and the views stunning. Staying overnight in their condos was a reasonable $90 for accommodations in the country. Fast forward a couple of years, new ownership has tanked any credibility this course had. Rates tripled, overnight lodging rates are more than tripled (for the exact same accommodations). Totally tone deaf to the region around them. Unfortunate what golf is becoming in TN.
Thomas G — Google review
We had lunch at the clubhouse prior to golfing. The service was fantastic. We had sushi that was really good. The Mac n Cheese balls were fantastic. The burgers were charred and over cooked but they have the best crinkle fries I’ve had. The golf course is expensive. It was $125 per person and they don’t have any amenities. We golfed on a Saturday afternoon and it felt like we were the only ones on the course. Fairways and greens were in good shape and there is some beautiful views. They also don’t accept any cash. Everything is card only and they charge an automatic 18% gratuity and that includes the drink cart.

Ryan B — Google review
Riverwatch sits perched high above Tennessee’s largest body of water, Center Hill Lake. The course is cut from the natural landscape and the holes tend to follow the contours of the land. The rolling hillsides and picturesque plateaus paint a picture on each hole and do a great job of melding golf and nature. No two holes are alike, many of the holes are tree-lined, with sharp drop-offs if you push your shot beyond the tree line. Dramatic elevation changes, testing doglegs, well-manicured Zoysia fairways, and well-placed bunkers lead to Bentgrass greens. Bunkers have been strategically placed and come into play off the tees and around the green complexes. Many of the bunkers are still a work in progress while the greens are incredible; lush, well-maintained and roll true. Each hole seems to get a little more challenging as you make your way around the course. This 18-hole championship golf course was designed by PGA TOUR professional Peter Jacobsen and his course architect partner Jim Hardy. The original owners deviated from the course’s original routing: what is currently the 3rd hole was designed to be the first hole and the current design’s first and second holes were added to the layout. When you play the course the integration is seamless; it’s hard to believe the first two holes weren’t part of the original plans. The 3rd hole is one of the tougher holes on the course. It’s an uphill par 5 dogleg right that requires an accurate tee shot and a layup shot that finds the narrow tree-lined fairway. Had this remained the first hole, I think it a lot of golfers would have been extremely challenged right out of the gate and it may have soured them on the rest of their round. Riverwatch has several memorable holes. The front nine ends with a testing par 3 that plays 183 yards from the gold tees. There’s water and sand left so if you’re going to miss, hit it right. The green sits at an angle and the difference between a front and back pin can be 2 or 3 clubs. Holes 11 – 15 can make or break your round and includes two or the course’s three toughest holes. Number 11 is a 329-yard, slight dogleg right with a blind tee shot. Hit a good drive down the left side, catch the downslope and you may find your drive on or close to the green. It’s a great chance to put up a low number and get the back nine going early. Number 12 is a 500-yard par 5 with a slight dogleg right. It’s a semi-blind tee shot and anything left is probably gone. You can bail out to the right if need be but if you hit it down the hill on 13, pack a lunch; it’s a long hike back up the hill! Hit a good drive, avoid the bunkers on the right and you can conceivably get home in two. The green is protected by a single pot bunker front left. Par or better is a great score here and gets you ready for what’s next. Number 13 is Riverwatch’s toughest test. The hole plays 416 yards downhill off the tee and the entire fairway slopes right to left. Play down the right side and it’s pretty much a given that you’ll be playing from the left side of the fairway. Anything hit down the left is pretty much gone. A good drive will leave a mid to short iron uphill over a stone wall to an elevated green protected in front by bunkers on either side. Take a par – or bogie – and run! Number 15 is a dogleg left, 375-yard par 4 that is the course’s #3 handicap. The hole starts to turn around the 200-yard mark so unless a draw is in your shot repertoire, you may want to consider something less than driver off the tee. Your approach shot plays downhill to a medium-sized green. Finishing the hole with the same ball you started with goes a long way in posting a good score on this hole. Your round ends on another scenic Riverwatch hole. Number 18 is a 458-yard par 5 that requires tremendous accuracy off the tee. Hit a good drive down the middle of the fairway off the tee and you could find yourself with the opportunity to get on in two. The green sits at an angle to the fairway and is protected by a large bunker front right. Par – or better – is a great way to end your round.
David T — Google review
Beautifully maintained with amazing views. The routing was a little weird. The 9th hole ended roughly a half mile from the club house, so it was a trek to get any food between 9's, and 18 plays away from the clubhouse. Also no restrooms on the course. No gps or pictures of the holes on the scorecard so it was your best guess as where to play to. I had a skycaddie but it had Riverwatch on it which was the previous name of the course and a different routing, so it was useless to use. The only reason it gets 3 stars is for how well the course is maintained and the views
Mike M — Google review
Great menu. Everything was on point, except the oysters. Crack, dip in water, open, dip again, then separate the muscle. Im not paying retail for grit and shell in my mouth boy. Bland too. Coming off like new money on Friday. Other than that this place is money.

I’ve played 50 courses in the last 3 years. That being said, there’s no way in hell this course should be the same price as Sequoya National. There’s plenty of good golf in the area, no point over paying for a mediocre course.

Good morning, I have been a Domino's customer for over 30 years and a loyal customer at the Sparta Tennessee store from the time we moved here 7 years ago. The management of the staff exceeds my expectations. There are always ready to serve and meet me with a "hi Tex" did you place an order?" They always show me my pizza. If I ever need an employee any of this particular management staff would be hired immediately. It's been said employees reflect the attitude of management and owner. Keep up the good work and attitude. Tex

After a hiking trip to Burgess Falls, the decision of where to eat was uncertain. However, upon leaving the park, an American restaurant called Chestnut Oaks Farm Store and Kitchen caught their attention. Intrigued by its outdoor seating and pet-friendly policy, they decided to give it a try. They ordered a burger, patty melt, and grilled cheese with various side dishes to sample.
We enjoyed our visit here so much! Cozy, friendly, and the food was yummy! My kids and I played games, checked out upstairs, and my kids got grilled cheese and cookies, and we got the pimento porky, and brisket, ended with ice cream and milkshakes! It all felt homey!

The atmosphere at this charming farm store in a converted barn was fantastic! Fresh milk and beef products are available as well as a good selection of ice cream and menu that is perfect for a light lunch. We had a Patty Melt and Brisket sandwich with a margarita key lime pie for desert. Every thing was good at a fair price. The pie was definitely our favorite. Complaint are minimal, the brisket didn’t have a smoked crust or flavor but there is a smoker behind the kitchen. I just didn’t see or taste the characteristics of smoked brisket. The service was good but seemed unorganized considering most of the menu is premade. Also only one stall in the restroom and the hikers from the near by falls were in a hurry to get their chance to use the restroom. I assume people preferred to use it instead of those provided at the falls. I was raised in Texas so brisket is a staple for me so I am a tough critic I know but it was still a decent sandwich and the bun was delicious. We really liked the charm and freshness of the this place a lot.

Really cool place! I had been wanting to check it out for a while and finally was able to stop by. The atmosphere is awesome, the food was great, the prices are right, and everyone is very nice. Fried green tomatoes were excellent. Lots of little table games to play with the kids. Definitely want to go back.

The food here is very good. The menu has a lot of variety. This place is sitting in the country in a beautiful shaded area. We will be back soon.

The food was great and the staff were very friendly. We got there late with a largish group and they served us with a smile. My kids got the pork and pimento sandwiches. The bun didn't stand a chance with that much goodness on it. The picture is their regular pulled pork BBQ.

Decided to finally try this place and I am so glad we did. This is a hidden gem tucked away near Burgess Falls. This farm to table restaurant is a breath of fresh air. It's located in the cutest barn and they offer a small store of local handmade goods. I ordered a cheeseburger, onion rings, and coleslaw. You can tell that the ingredients they use are of quality. The burger was flavorful and hit the spot. The onion rings although they were fried had a unique batter and wasn't greasy as all. They were some of the best onion rings I've ever had. The coleslaw was the star of the show though. It is by far the best coleslaw I've ever had. I would bathe in this coleslaw lol. I would literally go back just for the coleslaw alone. After all this food I wanted a sweet treat so I ordered a strawberry ice cream made with real strawberries. It was unlike any strawberry ice cream I've ever had. Most have an artificial taste this didn't at all. It was so creamy and delicious and was the best way to end a great meal. I will definitely be going back!

Dined for lunch here while visiting Burgess Falls. Nice quaint family run cafe. Reasonable pricing. Great patty melts, fries, slaw. Homemade BBQ sauce at tables very tasty. Also sold in their store. In Sparta TN. Hour & half east from Nashville off I-40. Good ice cream stop.

Such a great find! We had been out all morning hiking the local waterfalls and were looking for some lunch to fuel up for our afternoon hikes. We drove by this cute red barn perched on a hill just outside of Burgess State Park and smelled something delicious and we had to stop. We ordered the burgers, BLT, potato salad, ranch bean and sweet tea. Everything was delicious! The ladies behind the counter were so friendly and the service was quick and efficient. Finished up our lunch with some homemade ice cream. AAA+++ Highly recommend

American restaurant
Huddle House is a casual 24/7 chain that serves all-day breakfast and hearty American dishes. The food selection is good, albeit a little pricey. Despite some delays in service, the Pecan waffle was praised for being loaded with nuts and delicious. Customers were pleasantly surprised by the use of real eggs for their scramble egg whites.
First time at the huddle house! Our waitress Tiffany was exceptional. Best service we have had on our travels on our vacation. Delicious food and Tiffany made it extra special!!

Destiny was our waitress. She was phenomenal! Working with one hand due to right being fractured in several places, she still flew around seeing to everyone! Best waitress I've had anywhere in a long time. The food was fantastic too! The cook, Anna, did a great job. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today! Thank you!

Destany has done an amazing job on numerous accounts!! Every time my family comes in she welcome’s us so graciously, the food comes quickly and our drinks never go empty. Shes the kind of waitress you want serving you and your family!

I love coming here to eat, and I continue to every weekend. Even when busy, we all are taken care of. Anna and Michael (management/owners) are incredible people. To work along side their employees and treat us as family. They truly go above and beyond and not many restaurant owners do. Love love love it here and I hope to keep returning for years to come.

I stopped in at 6am to grab a quick bite to eat and had two of the greatest waitresses, Destany & Tiffany. They are awesome! Keri is the cook and it's some of the best food I have eaten! The owner is named Anna and she's running a great management. 10/10 will be back!

Destiny was the star. They were extremely busy. Never seen it so busy. All the staff had an amazing demeanor and attitude. They were helping each other. These folks needs some recognition for their service! Will return soon!

Edit: visited here again, and they've upped their game. Our server was prompt and friendly and the food was wonderful. I got another chocolate chip waffle and they'll actually put the chips inside the waffle unlike similar places. They also give free meals to Vets on Veterans Day. Service has always been lacking. Out of the two times I've been here, both times they've forgotten part of my order. The place is short staffed and they do what they can, but they desperately need some new management. The food I did receive was good. MVP with a chocolate chip waffle, sausage, and biscuit 'n gravy.

My husband and I went to huddle house for dinner tonight around 5:00pm and Julie and Rachel on 2nd shift was the cooking and server. It was great service great food, and my husband said that it was the best hamburger steak he's had at this huddlehouse.

Nestled in the heart of Hillcrest, Flour Child Bakery at Hillcrest Restaurant is a charming family-run establishment that has been revitalized by Marisha Webb, who took over from her father. This delightful spot offers an array of homemade dishes featuring freshly milled grains and pastries. Guests rave about trying Kolaches for the first time—soft bread enveloping savory meat and cheese—a true treat! The menu also boasts comforting classics like lasagna and hearty soups.
Great delicious homemade food with amazing service. Highly recommend. Had the hot ham and cheese with homemade tomato soup. And fresh homemade carrot cake for desert. There are tons of desert options, all made in house. Will definitely be back!

Marisha Webb has taken over Hiillcrest Restaurant from her dad and has created Flour Child Bakery. The menu has fresh milled grains and pastries. My husband and I each tried a Kolache for the first time, which is homemade soft bread wrapped around meat & cheese. Wonderful! !! She also has other homemade foods such as lasagna & soups. Then, we splurged and ordered homemade Cherry Cobbler and homemade Vanilla Ice Cream!!! Delicious isn’t even a word that does it justice!!!! Finding homemade foods has truly gone out of style, so it’s so nice to find someone dedicated to how things USE to be! 🥰

Visited this restaurant this past weekend while staying on centerhill lake and had the taco burger. It was so good and the fries were great! The girl that works there is super sweet and I loved the music videos they were playing on the TVs lol. Great place! Would love to go back next time I'm in the area. :)

We had the best home cooked dinner! The owner, who cooks and is also the server, was great! We definitely chose the right time to go. As soon as we placed our order, the little restaurant was full! So, get there early! But if you're in the area, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The food (including dessert) was delicious!
Chelle S — Google review
Quaint, family-owned and operated little restaurant. Friendly and personable waitress (the daughter) serving up delicious homemade food by the local cook (the dad). If you get bored, there’s a steady stream of music videos playing on the several wall-mounted televisions with a playlist of very eclectic musical taste. The restaurant has funny hours, but if you can catch it when they’re open, you won’t be disappointed.

Try the Tennessee Toothpicks. The photo I posted was after I lost control after the first bite. The ground hamburger plate was great. This has to be the best home cooked meal we have had since hitting the road 9 months ago. The only thing better than the food was the friendly staff. We will be back while we are staying at Ragland Bottom Staye Park.

Nice, quiet place with wonderful food and a great choice of drinks! Service is great and every time I've eaten here, the food has been great! My favorite item is the hamburger steak and the grilled potatoes. The seasoning is wonderful on both of them. We will continue to eat here any chance we get!

This restaurant is a Gem. Their food is excellent, service great, prices are very reasonable. Had the Grilled Hamburger steak w/onions, grilled potatoes and salad with homemade Bleu cheese salad dressing. Great desserts. The owners take care of their customers well. I will definitely be back. What an absolutely fantastic lunch and little gem of a restaurant in Sparta. Jack's Top BBQ and Home Cooking has the real deal USA Catfish and my hoagie was absolutely phenomenal. Ultimate baked potatoes and Ruben were also very good. They have fresh soups and just a huge menu. Spoke with the owner and they make all their food fresh and homemade. One of my absolute favorite small town spots! The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, and the hospitality makes you feel right at home every time you walk through the door. You can always count on getting some amazing home cooking here. The burgers are my personal favorite — consistently delicious — but today I decided to branch out and try the BBQ baked potato, and it was just as wonderful. Everything they serve is full of flavor and made with care. If you're looking for great food with a cozy, friendly vibe, this is the place to go!

Truly a southern spot in the heart of Sparta. Upon entering there's an inclosed outdoor seating and dining area. Very clean and upkept. The menu had several options and price is very responsible. I went with the cheeseburger topped with pulled pork I was very indecisive because seeing the friendly server walk out to other tables and everything look appealing. I kept it simple for lunch and was not disappointed.. stop by if your ever in the Sparta area.

It's a BBQ shack. Those are the best kinds. It's like the flavors are soaked into the walls. 😆 I am rating against my Memphis BBQ standards. Meat: Moist and not over cooked. But it needs more smoke. Tasting that smoke is what can set a place a step above. Sauce: Points for not being vinegar or mustard based. It's a thick molasses base. It's good. If it was thinner and had some heat to it, it would be more in line with a Memphis style. So it's not my favorite, but it's a good bite. Serving Size: It's not a tiny bun like some places. It's actually a normal sized bun. So, points there. Overall: If the meat had a little more smoke, the sauce was a little thinner and had some heat, this would a a 5☆. But they are definitely a solid 4☆. Well, worth a try, so stop in and help Jack retire young. PROS: Friendly service, fair prices, Moist meat. Cons: Lack of smoke, sauce is thick and needs heat.

Jack's never disappoints. The patty melt is the dish today. It is so hard to pass up. His food is always great and flavourful. When eating out in Sparta Tennessee, this is always where I go. I can never get enough of the hamburgers or any of the smoked meats. It's always fresh. The staff is always very accommodating, and Jack is very personable. I always love talking barbecue with him. If you're in or around Sparta, you need to come and eat here.

The Coffee Collective in Sparta is a cozy and nostalgic spot that's a must-visit for both locals and visitors. The friendly and professional staff create a fun atmosphere, making it an enjoyable place to grab some carefully made food and unparalleled fresh roasted coffee. Sitting by the windows allows you to take in the charming sights inside the shop as well as outside. Additionally, on select Saturdays, there's an opportunity to join a men's Bible study group upstairs.
This place is a hidden gem. The coffee is amazing. It is honestly the best coffee I have had since I left Australia 4 years ago. We just moved here from Florida a few weeks back and it’s mostly inundated with Starbucks and average coffee shops there. This place roasts their own beans which you can also purchase to take home. The sandwiches are also delicious. And the staff are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

We were leaving Sparta, TN headed back home and this was a great end to a trip. I love coffee shops and the ladies that are working definitely know how to put together a great cup of joe. I tried the vanilla lavender latte and I was very pleased on how smooth and tasty the latte was. It had a nice buttery and creamy flavor. I paired the latte with the cannoli waffles. They were a specialty as listed on their board and they tasted so good, not too sweet, and the cannoli cookies gave them a nice crunch with added strawberries and cream. With that being said, you must stop in this beautiful gem of a place and experience everything that is being cooked.

Another hidden gem. I was surprised at the quality of coffee at this place. I mean not to take away from Sparta but I was not expecting a top tier quality coffee shop sitting in downtown. I was suspicious when I first saw all the reviews. However, the coffee is incredible, the breakfast Sandwiches are next to ton, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Plus, the environment is a great place to get some work done. Amazing place.

Nestled in a charming alley, the Fragrant Mushroom Gallery is a treasure trove for pottery enthusiasts and art lovers alike. This delightful shop offers an impressive array of handcrafted pottery, including unique coffee mugs and ceramic coasters, all at incredibly affordable prices. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a spacious layout filled with vibrant colors that showcase the artistic creations lining the shelves. Each piece is not only functional but also serves as a work of art made by talented local artists.
Absolute favorite pottery shop! I come here and get at least one mug/bowl every year when I’m in town visiting family. I prefer the mug style they made about 5 years ago, it was perfect for hugging my coffee when it’s cold outside. Now they’re flatter on the bottom and too wide at the top. The bowls/plates are amazing and really elevate the table scape. They moved locations, now they’re in the alley. Just follow the signage. I like how you can see them doing the work now, that’s cool.

OK, so we went in expecting some kind of head shop from the 60's...the name doesn't exactly fit the category of the store, which features a vast selection of hand-crafted pottery mugs and original art created by local artists. The mugs are excellent quality, signed by the artist, and the variety of available glazes is really quite good. Be ready to be greeted by the sweetest (and very agile) Calico cat when you come in. We enjoyed browsing around; I love seeing the arts represented in Sparta and I hope the town continues to host creative events and support the arts.

This is a really cool shop for pottery lovers and features a nice selection of mugs, bowls, and other items. Drove by and randomly decided to stop in. They happened to be doing trivia for Father’s Day so I ended up hanging out and joining on with the bar team. Everyone was super friendly and made me feel very welcome. Both beers I had were great, I tried the blackberry sour and rock hop IPA and would happily recommend either. From the sounds of it, the food is also very good, but I did not end up having any myself. I will definitely be making a stop here again if I’m driving through Sparta!

Super place to come for a beer, food & anything else you want. They not only make and have 8-9 of their own on tap, but guest taps & cans too. As good as the food is, time to step up to real plates & silverware for civilized meals. Paper & plastic worked during COVID - but not for me. If I were local here, I would find reasons to come in and hang out. Alas, not local, not even in state. But take the path less travelled and come here for great beer & sandwiches. ADA compliant & clean restrooms.

Pizza restaurant
Marioochi’s Pizzeria On The Square is a hidden gem in Sparta, TN that offers an authentic Italian pizza experience. The pizzas are perfectly cooked in a stone fire oven and the menu includes specialty pizzas and high-end cocktails. Visitors can also enjoy delicious appetizers like spinach artichoke dip and garlic rolls. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations to enhance the dining experience.
My husband and I ordered 2 pies to go - the Hey Mikey, and the Goodfella (pictured). They were both DELICIOUS! Despite being busy, our order was ready very quickly, and the staff was incredibly nice! We definitely have found our new pizza spot!

My husband and I finally made it to Marioochi’s in Sparta, and we’re so glad we did! We were greeted right away by a friendly hostess and offered the choice to wait 20 minutes for a table or sit immediately at the bar. We chose the bar—and it was perfect. The first thing I noticed was the peaceful atmosphere—no TVs in sight, which made for a relaxing dining experience. The open view of the brick oven was such a nice touch, and the remodel is absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t help but snap a few photos! Our bartender/server, Andy, was fantastic—he gave us a little history of the place, offered great menu suggestions, and made us feel like we were his only guests. We shared the spinach dip and each ordered a pizza (which made amazing leftovers!). The food was delicious and came out fast—thanks to that high-heat brick oven. We can’t wait to come back and try the calzones next time. Highly recommend checking this place out!

A great Italian restaurant. Authentic pizza the way it is made in Italy, especially in Rome. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, thin crust and delightful. Try the garlic knots appetizer. Excellent. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Get there early for dinner, they were very busy by 6:00 pm.

I wish I took a picture of the pizza before we started to eat it but this pizza was sooooo tasty. We tried the Raquel and the Hey Louie, plus the double chocolate cake which is not pictured. The Raquel was incredibly delicious. The highlight of the pizza was the pesto chicken, which was very flavorful. The Hey Louie was great as well. The Italian sausage was very fresh and tasty. Both pizzas were executed with perfection in my opinion, the best pizza that I have tried in my entire life. Lastly, the chocolate cake was very moist and not overly sweet. We ordered our food but once we entered this establishment we were greeted with excellent customer service. Thank you to everyone in this place.

Husband voted for a 5 rating, I was going to do a 3 rating so we compromised eith a 4. The bruschetta was odd to me, others might like it. The bread was thin & small loaded with diced tomatoes, no balsamic. The Bobby was ok, husband liked it. Pepperoni and cheese pizza with the same tiny diced tomatoes as on the bruschetta, no sauce. The chocolate cake was large, ice cold, dense with a rich bitter dark chocolate frosting. The service started well then tapered off significantly.

This restaurant is AMAZING! The food is delicious and the service is always top notice. Such a classy place. When we visit Sparta we always try to stop by for lunch or dinner. Thank you for providing this gem. Oh, and the coffee shop next door and the specialty cheese shop around the corner are a must to visit as well! 😉

First time experience: I placed a pickup order and even the phone interaction was amazing to start. Got there, proceeded to the bar, food was hot and ready. Immediately attended to. Now the food.... Was out of TN level delicious. You will absolutely not find better in this area. I demolished the Caesar salad and Bruschetta I got before I even remembered pictures were a thing. Seriously, must try this place!

Absolutely amazing pizza! Not your traditional pizza with red sauce but oh my was it AMAZING! My husband doesn’t even like pizza and he LOVED this! Our favorite was the Chio Ryan! I also had the Old Fashioned and it was the best the one I have EVER had! Worth the price!!

The place is great! If the food doesn't match their expectations, they fix it. We had the grouper sandwich and the grouper strips. Very delicious food. And the broccoli side order!! Best broccoli i have ever had! Server was super sweet and attentive. Prices are good too.

I thought it was great. The spinach triangles are amazing, my husband and I loved them. I had the combination kabob platter which was delicious and my husband ordered the burger with bacon. He said that the burger patty was a bit overcooked but still tasted good. We also ordered baclava and carrot cake. The theme inside was lacking something, maybe just some decor since it is a new establishment. Since they have so many Greek items on the menu maybe they should run with a Greek theme and smash some plates occasionally and yell out Opa. I really enjoy the food, service was great and food came out quick even though the restaurant was full. Will definitely be back.

Shrimp skewer was so good! I can have two more. Greek salad was huge that can feed three people actually. Buffalo wings was juicy and flavorful. Pork chop was seasoned perfect and I like it. Friendly server and chill atmosphere, recommended.

Opa! Wowza! And How do you do! We were given a recommendation from a friend of my husband. How happy we are that we listened! As you walk in the first thing you see is a beautiful brick wall that I believe is part of the original building. Eyes upward and you will see beautiful tiles from days gone by. The aromas filling the dining area start making your mouth water in eager anticipation of what’s to come. With local brew, Calfkiller, on tap, you can never go wrong. I can never remember the names so I simply ask for the darkest brew available. The lit shelves in the bar area proudly display the wide array of spirits on hand to quench any thirst . We are so excited by the menu items we can hardly wait to get back down there! Grouper! Souvlaki! Pastas! Steaks! And desserts oh my! Run don’t walk to see for yourself, you won’t regret it! I also recommend asking for Ms Cayleigh, she is smart, attentive and courteous. I promise she will treat you right!

First visit to Brothers, and everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. I had buffalo chicken wings and they were fantastic. Nice crispy skin and great flavor. They also have a good selection of craft beers and one of our party had a margarita and said it was great. Will definitely return to try other items. Our server was very good to make suggestions based on our dietary restrictions, greatly appreciated!!

My fiance and I decided to try this place out. And we are so happy we did! The food was delicious! Our waiter was awesome! Since we had never been there she helped us with what was good there. And she definitely knows her stuff because wow was what she recommended good! I definitely recommend giving this place a go! You won't be disappointed!

Husband ordered cheeseburger, fries & fried mushrooms. Husband loved all of it! Cheeseburger was very flavorful and perfectly cooked! I ordered the NY strip, broccoli & mac and cheese. All of it was perfect. This was the best meal out we've had a months! Everything was clean and the service was great.

Yanni's Grille is a highly recommended family restaurant that offers delicious food and excellent service. It is known for its wide variety of dishes, including catfish dinner, pizza, lasagna, grilled cheese, pork kabobs, strip steak, and Chicken Parmigiana with added mushrooms. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a wonderful dining experience. With a smooth operation led by a talented chef, Yanni's Grille stands out as an impressive spot to try when visiting the area.
I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding—warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. You really feel like family here. The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional Greek dishes, and everything we tried was full of flavor. But the real surprise? The pizzas! Absolutely amazing—crispy crust, generous toppings, and that perfect blend of cheese and sauce. You can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients. On top of it all, the prices are very reasonable. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both top-notch food and fantastic value, but this spot nails it. Whether you're craving Greek specialties or just want the best pizza in town, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Well staff group of employees who kept thing humming. Food was delicious. Had the New York strip steak and gumbo soup. My wife suggested we come back on our Anniversary.

A friend told me they made a good pizza. They were correct. It is a very good pizza. I ordered the 9ne called the Warrior. It's a excellent 3 meat pizza. Cheaper than most in the area to. Definitely would recommend to others to try. I'll be going back to try other things on the menu. They are always pretty busy which usually means good food also.

Do not go here and order a salad. You will be highly disappointed! We ordered 2 salads to go and swimming in dressing like to the point just had to throw it away. Seriously its not that hard honestly they should have just put it on the side like we asked but nope they just rather pour a whole bottle in it. Plus the salad itself isnt worth what they charged. first and last time going there. Took pics im gonna try to find a way to post them.

If you are looking for good food, Yanni's is the place to come! Have eaten here every time I come down this way! I had the catfish dinner with a baked potato and salid. Excellent! Other people in my party had pizza, lasagna, grilled cheese, and pork kabobs. All enjoyed their food. Would recommend this restaurant.

This place was great. Highly recommended!! Couldn’t have asked for better service!!! Our server was excellent and food was great. A lil warmer than I like inside but well worth it
Lorie B — Google review
We found this on Yelp, I selected it because I felt it would have a Greek owner and I associate good food with Greek owners. My husband had the prime rib in loved it, We both had the tomato basil soup We enjoyed it but we did not really like the macaroni in it, I had the grilled shrimp dinner and it was delicious and plentiful.
Debra P — Google review
A pretty good lunch stop in town. The service was good and the food came quickly. The Patty Melt had a good flavor, but the cheese wasn't melted at all which was disappointing. The Bean and Ham soup was delicious, as was the Grilled Chicken Salad. The fries were terrible: frozen, with little flavor, and a horrible texture.
