Tallulah Gorge State Park is an amazing adventure! The hike through the beautiful trails and down to the breathtaking waterfall is unforgettable. The stairs add some excitement and challenge, but it’s totally worth the effort for the incredible views. For anyone with health concerns, I’d recommend skipping the stairs, but everyone else should definitely experience this fantastic place!
This campsite is very nice! The bathrooms were clean and spacious, which we really appreciated. There was some construction happening on the other side, and it looks like a new bathroom facility is coming soon, which is great to see. The trails were beautiful, and all the overlooks had amazing views — perfect for nature lovers. My two fur babies had the best time exploring and enjoying the outdoors! Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We’re looking forward to coming back!
An amazing state park, with great waterfalls, views, and hiking areas. I lucked out and got to visit on a perfect fall morning with high water flow earlier this month. Great loop trail. If you go down to Hurricane Falls, your legs will be burning by the time you complete the stairs back up to the rim, but it’s 1000% worth it. The suspension bridge is another iconic point in this park. A few notes - after overlook 1, I didn’t find the view at Inspiration Point to be better; it’s not that far further down the trail, but it’s also not necessary. And then the parking area has a gate that isn’t opened until close to opening hours for the visitor center. I showed up early and was surprised to find a locked gate.
Tallulah falls is a bit underwhelming compared to other places for example, Linville Falls in North Carolina. The exhaustion of the steps def was not worth the view at the end. Parking wasn’t free. Overall the trails were maintained, a great amount of diverse people on the trail. Very family friendly. Bridge was nice. If you’re under an hour way I’d recommend but if not, I’d put more time to the drive and go somewhere nicer. I’m from the mtns of North Carolina and NC’s mtns are free and definitely worth the drive and views. If you’re reading this now, it isn’t fully “fall” colored yet just slightly.
Absolutely breathtaking views! This is a must see, photos don’t do it justice. I would recommend good hiking shoes and walking sticks if you plan to go up to the higher look outs. The suspension bridge is awesome although the trek down and back up is definitely a workout. One of the best State Parks I’ve been to! Get there early on the weekends as it fills up and there will be a line to get in.
Tallulah Gorge is absolutely gorgeous, and the hike itself really isn’t difficult if you’re a pretty active person. I kept hearing how challenging it was supposed to be, but it felt super manageable and not intense at all. The trails are well-maintained, the views are amazing, and it’s an easy hike to enjoy without feeling worn out. That said, if you’re more of a beginner or not used to hiking, some parts might feel a bit tougher—but overall it’s totally doable. It’s the perfect spot for soaking in scenery without a crazy workout.
Had so much fun here! Just a heads up... it only cost $5 for us to get in...but the gate at the entrance only accept cash, and ofcourse this was a time we did not have cash. So we had to wait in line to pay using a card at the gift shop. It wasnt terrible, but it did take about 15 out of our time. We did the north and south trails which had amazing views. The trails weren't too difficult... just ALOT of stairs. But it was totally worth it to me. I will be going back to explore more. We spent about 3 hours there, but I would love to just spend a full day there.
Beautiful place to camp. Lots is great trails and if you’re up for it an amazing step machine aka.. the gorge stairs. Nice campground with extremely clean amenities. The gift shop ladies were super helpful and the interactive center is a must!

I am new to the southern states. I went and traveled around Georgia and traveled a bunch of different places. This was one of them. This was an awesome store with tons of good shopping, great views and very friendly staff. The lady even knew the city I was from because she lived there. Great staff, great shopping. Great views equals they must stop if you’re in the area.
Amazing place! We stopped and shopped, not your typical low end tourist trap. High quality merchandise at great prices. The owner just has the landscaping done so the view from the porch was amazing!!! Its posted that the porch view is free with a purchase or $2.50 per person without TO HELP KEEP THE VIEW MAINTAINED... it was well worth it. The porch had great photo spots and an old time viewing machine (no quarters necessary!) which gave us a SUPER close view of the gorge. There is a second floor for viewing as well but we didn't go up (the view on the main porch was AMAZING enough) If your looking for a "pit stop" just to use the bathroom, this is not the place. They do not sell penny candy/no ice cream- they have NEHI pop in glass bottles and moon-pies for a touch of nostalgia💕 LOVE LOVE LOVE this place and the owner did an amazing job with transforming an old building into a beautiful spot.
Very nice people, had a guy even playing live music and some folks dancing when we pulled up! Views are nice when you enter through the store and go upstairs. Their was some history information inside regarding a gentleman that crossed the Tallulah Gorge on a tight rope in this vicinity.
We’ve been coming to this site for over 50 years and we were excited to see that it has reopened after being closed for a period during the Covid years. The quality/variety of the merchandise and the prices is very good. Best of all, the observation deck is open again and free. Definitely will stop in again on our next visit.
Beautiful views! Lots to see and do here. Ice cream, nick nacks, bottled drinks, and a cozy comforting atmosphere. A great place to just stop and stay a while.
Wonderful views, great shop full of trinkets to soaps. Upstairs sells ice cream, fudge, and other treats and there is a food stand on the side of the building past the restrooms that sells peanuts and other items. Definitely worth a stop before visiting the Gorge. Beautiful views.
The store is fantastic!!! Brings you back in time with the gifts and items you will find, such as soda in bottles!! Love it! Never ending gobstoppers...kids say YES!!! something for everyone! View...don't see much but trees...some water in distance.
Awesome customer service! Plenty of memorabilia to choose from and purchase! Has a telescope for .25 on an outside porch overlooking the Gorge

7 miles total in and back, but worth it! Places to stop off along the way and enjoy the creek and scenery. Packed a lunch and stayed all afternoon. Great day hike idea.
Great experience. The new bridges make the experience better. It’s a pretty moderate hike, with some short areas being the hardest part. There is some walking on rocks and walking through tree stems, but overall worth the hike. About 8M to the waterfall
Great hiking area! Good parking, beautiful falls. Good for all levels, just a little long. Many campsites / picnic sites to use for the fam!
This trail has it all we really enjoyed it ,the falls at the end makes the effort worth it!!
Truly loved the park. Multiple sites to access the creek within a half mile of the trail. Picnic tables, bathrooms and ample parking. Wasn’t too crowded, and very easy for two six year olds to have an absolute blast without worrying they’d fall in or get pulled away by any fast moving creeks. Will be returning!
It’s 3.5 miles to the waterfall itself, all downhill going there. The trail is heavily traveled and there are two water crossings with no bridges because of the flood. Anytime after noon you will see at least 50 groups of people. Even at 10 am the place is crowded. Very beautiful, but too many people to enjoy the nature side of it.
Great hike with great views. The last two times I’ve been the bridge has been out when crossing the river so keep that in mind.
This spot is such a fern gully escape from the busy lives we tend to lead and even an hour here is enough to rejuvenate your working spirit. Lots of places to explore off the main trails, a bit rooty, and narrow in places and the climb could be a bit difficult for bad knees but I highly recommend it.

I want to express my sincere appreciation for Chief Elrod’s outstanding communication and dedication. Despite being short-staffed and managing a heavy workload, she took the time to address my concerns with professionalism and efficiency. Her ability to clearly communicate and resolve my issue amicably and promptly was truly commendable. It’s reassuring to know that our community has a leader who prioritizes effective communication and resolution. Thank you, Chief Elrod and Linda, for your commitment to service! Sarah
Avoid Tallulah Falls, Ga.by all means possible! This Town is the text book definition of a SPEED TRAP. It has Photo Cameras and Speed detection devices provided by a for profit Company by the name of Blue Line Solutions out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Blue Lines Solutions and the Tallulah Falls Police Department share the profit of each ticket generated. There are no Flashing Warning signs to give you warning of this speed zone. My husband Bobby recently received a $100.00 ticket for keeping with the flow of traffic while traveling through this crooked little Town. My husband was staying with the flow of Atlanta weekend traffic when he was cited. He was going 56 MPH while staying with the flow of Speed.
Received my photo speed ticket like everyone else that reviewed this place has. What an embarrassment for North Georgia. I can only imagine how many tourists this trash town has gotten with this scam. I read 3 reviews in here saying they were clocked at 59mph. I was also clocked at 59mph, but I have no idea how to validate this. The Police Department phone number does have an option to select for photo tickets though that sends you to an automated third party. Went up there to pick up an order from a meat processing company. Won't be using them again thanks to their police department's speed scam. Good luck.
I will drive 60 miles out of my way to avoid this city the next time I head north. Did a little research and records request and the ticketing in this town in pathetic. All out of towners "speeding" in a school zone with no flashing lights. I haven't received a speeding ticket in 30 years. I would give no stars if allowed. I really hope my $100 is used for something besides the new police chiefs salary. Maybe repair those flashing lights so they work....Dishonesty at it's finest.
I was hit with this camera speeding violation, as many have said. I seen the school speed zone but again as all have said. The lights were not flashing, so I continued on at 59mph. Got my driving award in the mail and was shocked. But I didn't freak out about it. I called Chief Elrod and left a voice mail. She called me back the next day. Very courteous and professional. She explained to me about the flashing lights and again very courteous. I am willing to bet that not one person who had this happen to them really studied the violation with the picture of thier tag number on it. I did and found a flaw, and now my ticket is voided. Again, Chief Elrod was courteous and professional during the whole conversation. So b4 you call and leave a rude voice mail with her. Remember, disrespect goes both ways.
I got a camera ticket in Tallulah Falls at 9:57AM on a Friday morning for speeding in a school zone. No lights flashing, no nothing, hard to believe they truly care about kids safety with no flashing lights when entering the school zone. Stay away from this area and town! Also, the ticket is for $75 but there's a $25 PROCESSING FEE!!!! Yeah, try to convince me this isn't a money grab without laughing...Looking forward to the class action suit and getting half my money back!
**Beware**Hwy 441 at Tallulah Middle School is a no joke speed trap!! 45mph all day, every day, not just during school hours.
Talk about donut eating wastes of space. They'll charge you with a moving violation in a school zone even when school isn't in session. They sit doom scrolling all day while the cameras do all the work. No talent leeches.
