Geologic Formations
Tallulah Gorge State Park is a 2739-acre reserve located in Tallulah Falls, Georgia. It features a 1,000-ft. gorge, waterfalls, campgrounds, and a former Victorian resort town. The park's creation was inspired by a highwire walk that garnered significant attention three decades ago.
I visited Tallulah Gorge State Park and went to the Suspension Bridge from the South Rim trail ( the north trim stairs were closed that day due to fallen tree ) . The views were absolutely breathtaking! The hike down included a lot of steps (around 300 one way), but it was well worth the effort. The bridge gives you an incredible view of the gorge and waterfalls, and the sound of the rushing water makes it even more special. The trails are well marked and the park is clean and well maintained. Be ready for a workout on the way back up, but it’s an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend visiting!

Absolutely worth getting there early and going through the permit and class procedure. Take notes on the map provided by the instructor. The gorge is breathtaking and making your own way across expanses of boulders is an experience unlike any other in this entire region. Pick a day and hope for good weather. I suppose it would be just as beautiful in cooler temps, but playing in the water is where the true joy is at.
Adam G — Google review
Tallulah Gorge State Park is an amazing adventure! The hike through the beautiful trails and down to the breathtaking waterfall is unforgettable. The stairs add some excitement and challenge, but it’s totally worth the effort for the incredible views. For anyone with health concerns, I’d recommend skipping the stairs, but everyone else should definitely experience this fantastic place!
Sarath T — Google review
This campsite is very nice! The bathrooms were clean and spacious, which we really appreciated. There was some construction happening on the other side, and it looks like a new bathroom facility is coming soon, which is great to see. The trails were beautiful, and all the overlooks had amazing views — perfect for nature lovers. My two fur babies had the best time exploring and enjoying the outdoors! Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We’re looking forward to coming back!
DhongDhong T — Google review
The trails are well maintained and the overlooks have some phenomenal views. The only thing I will say and that is displayed on a sign before you go down, is the trail to the suspension bridge and hurricane falls below that. That trail is VERY strenuous so think twice about taking it, but it is worth it. The view at the bottom is just as pretty if not more so than the top.
Chelsi — Google review
Tallulah falls is a bit underwhelming compared to other places for example, Linville Falls in North Carolina. The exhaustion of the steps def was not worth the view at the end. Parking wasn’t free. Overall the trails were maintained, a great amount of diverse people on the trail. Very family friendly. Bridge was nice. If you’re under an hour way I’d recommend but if not, I’d put more time to the drive and go somewhere nicer. I’m from the mtns of North Carolina and NC’s mtns are free and definitely worth the drive and views. If you’re reading this now, it isn’t fully “fall” colored yet just slightly.
Avy V — Google review
It’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have seen in and around Georgia. Went there during the fall season and oh boy what a view it was from there. The hanging bridge over the waterfall is all worth the steps. There are many viewpoints and all of them are beautiful.
TANVEER A — Google review
Beautiful trails and education center. The trails are well maintained and the scenery is breathtaking. If you don't like or can't do stairs, this park may not be for you. All together we climbed 1099 stairs.

Hurricane Falls is one of the stunning waterfalls in Tallulah Gorge State Park, Georgia. Along with Tempesta Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Oceana Falls, and LEau dOr Falls, it offers a breathtaking natural spectacle. Most of these falls are visible from rim overlooks and can be reached through hiking trails that lead to prime viewing spots. The 2.
Everything about this park is beautiful and you’ll definitely want to check it out yourself! The entire hike to the top is well worth the time. If you like to be in nature, go here!
Cristal B — Google review
Very beautiful location, but keep in mind that the hike back to the top is extremely steep and strenuous. They have a staircase to make the ground stable, but it still gives you a serious workout. Remember to fill up a water bottle to carry with you.
Jtally — Google review
Tallulah gorge State Park was great. Awesome hiking experience...310 steps down and up from the bridge, not for the weak. Sights were so much better from the over looks 1-10 than pictures will show.
Drea E — Google review
Nice falls at the bottom of the gorge. I didn’t count the steps but there must be at least 1k. Make sure you’re ready for the exit up. Check out the overlooks on the parking lot side then travel down the steps to the bottom. No permit needed for that overlook either. Then travel back to the top on the other side. Check out those overlooks then continue to the vehicle bridge for the great view of the full gorge.
Greg B — Google review
Hurricane Falls is absolutely breathtaking! The powerful waterfall surrounded by lush greenery makes for an unforgettable view. The trail leading there is scenic and adventurous, with great photo spots along the way. A must-see for nature lovers! 🌊💚

An incredibly beautiful place! A tall suspension bridge! I highly recommend it! But be prepared to climb 625 steps down and back up—it's not easy...but it's worth it!

Great views, not possible to capture the experience in a photo. Keep in mind you must get there before noon during hot weather as they close the steps.

Tallulah Gorge is a stunning natural wonder stretching 2 miles in length and plunging 1000 feet deep. The area is rich with lush vegetation and protected wildlife, including towering pine trees. Visitors are treated to breathtaking views of white rocky cliffs descending into the sparkling teal waters of the Tallulah River from various overlooks. The gorge features a popular suspension bridge near its floor and multiple viewing platforms along its rims.
It is a workout because there are so many stairs, but it is SO worth it. You can go at your own pace and take breaks. Breathtaking views, you must go.
Zaira G — Google review
The view spot from the power plant is good but you need some binoculars to enjoy it even more. There is not a lot to do there other than enjoying the scenery. We came here by mistake while searching for the Tallulah Gorge State Park, that one is more recommended IMO
Humberto M — Google review
Amazing location. Be organized though on your parking as I missed the south side of the gorge and went straight to the park. But you can walk the bridge over to that side too! Beautiful. Plan to spend a good half day if you really want to enjoy it!
Jim R — Google review
Very beautiful area with a big river, 1000 foot deep gorge with a hanging bridge, and lots of trails and waterfalls. I highly recommend you don’t miss this stop on your vacation.
Stuart — Google review
The views were amazing! Thank you for the information about the 510 steps it is from the bottom. I would not have been able to make it back up. I did like the fact that you had several other trails and view points of the area. I could still walk the trails and enjoy of this beautiful area. I would like to make it my goal to return and complete the full trail down to the bridge and cross the gorge. We had an amazing time.
Teddy's A — Google review
The short class you take at the visitor center to receive a permit to hike the gorge does not prepare you for the actual hike down to Sliding Rock and back out. It took my wife and I about 2 hours to get to the bottom. We hung out for about an hour, swimming, sliding and chilling, before starting our "70 degree" rock climb to the top. It took us about 45 minutes to reach the top moving at a steady pace with the cliff of death about 15ft to our right. Then it was about 2 miles to get back to the visitor center by unmarked nature trails. Pack out what you pack in and be prepared for dangerous conditions at all times.

Tallulah Gorge is in the mountains of N GA. We stayed at the campground in the park which had electric and water hookups. Choose your site carefully - some are near the road into the park. Nice clean campground, average size sites. You can hike to the rim of the gorge right from the campground. There are many viewing platforms along the trails which were busy on a Saturday with good fall color. You can make a reservation to go down into the gorge, 100 per day, first come basis. There are several back country sites as well as 2 trails that are off limits without a permit. The town of Tallulah Falls is nearby with one old timey type general store and one restaurant that we noticed.
Hiker S — Google review
Wow. Get ready for some flights of stairs, it’s quite a trek to go in and out of the gorge but the views are pretty spectacular. Ask about a floor permit when the weather is not freezing. The last bit of the trail takes you basically on the sidewalk of a pretty busy road which felt fairly unsafe. I would try to avoid that part in the future if possible.

Beautiful lake and great walking / hiking / biking opportunities! Even though it was ultra-cold and I didn't see any on my visit, I'm told it's a great place to kayak and paddle board. Gorgeous scenery!

The Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center serves as the starting point for two trails, including the North Rim trail and the suspension bridge. It is a popular welcome center within Georgia State Parks, featuring a mini-museum that appeals to visitors of all ages. The center offers educational resources, souvenirs, snacks, and restroom facilities. Additionally, it provides informative permit classes for activities like hiking the sliding rock trail.
A great place with great staff. My partner and I hiked sliding rock trail and the required permit class was informative and quite necessary, but the process was easy. The facility was also amazing. I would definitely recommend.

Hiking area
Inspiration Point is a top spot for observing kayakers on whitewater weekends. It's the #1 overlook on the North Rim and the #9 overlook on the South Rim. The ascent to Inspiration Point is about 1/4 mile, but the stunning view of people enjoying Bridal Falls and looking down into the gorge makes it worth it. The hike isn't too strenuous, as even toddlers have completed both rim trails.
Bridal falls was not producing much water but that’s normal for the time of year. Hike up to the point can be hard for those if not in shape, but take it slow, have water and you will be okay, not a far hike at all just some elevation gain
Dani M — Google review
It’s pretty much 1/4 mile of ascending, but it was worth the view! We got to see people playing at Bridal Falls while we were looking down into the gorge. That was pretty cool! My toddlers completed the entire loop and both rim trails, so it’s not that bad of a hike. There are places to rest if you need to. What are you waiting for? Hike up to Inspiration Point!!

Stopped by Tallulah 1883 Café and everything was excellent! We ordered an iced latte, the brown butter brown sugar drink (loved that it came in a big mug), a caprese sandwich, and an omelet. Great spot! Excellent service and food. Highly recommend the Duck Cuban (amazing flavors). We also enjoyed the BLT, steak nachos, and the sangria on tap...crisp, cool, and delicious. Enjoyed our lunch before a hike! Great place, great people and fresh, delicious food. Plenty of healthy options and local draft beer! Loved the bar seating overlooking the green area, but the day was so gorgeous it was hard to pass on one of the seats around the rocks. Has that modern brewery vibe, yet is very family friendly with plenty of games and activities available.

We really enjoyed our relaxing meal at The Edge while visiting Tallulah Gorge on a weekend! We tried the Duck Cuban & Italian Sandwich which were both really tasty. They have jalepeno queso chips as a side which were fire 🔥. There is a large outdoor covered sesting area as well as grassy area for activities, kids to run around, and gatherings. The hydroelectric facility, Tallulah Falls Dam, offers picturesque trails that provide stunning views of the gorge. The weather is usually perfect, making it an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can explore both the North and South Rim trails, with the Hurricane trail being a particularly challenging option due to its numerous steps. Picturesque wildflowers add to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Additionally, on select weekends each year, extra water is released from the dam to create rapids for kayakers.
Pretty cool spot to stop and check out nice views. Certain weekends each year they will let out extra water from the dam to increase the rapids for the kayakers. There's good parking right next to the dam and you can walk the rim trail from there.

The south rim trail crosses the bridge that goes over the dam. It’s worth the hike to at least overlook 4. Very beautiful scenery! The lake and the gorge!

We had a pretty good walk on the trails overlooking the gorge. Perfect weather too. We did the North then the South Rim trails. We ended up going to the Hurricane trail which has a lot of steps. 😅 But it was all good. Took a lot of pretty pictures of the beautiful wild flowers. Keep hydrated!

This is actually a nice dan on Tallulah river, it has like 10 gates which were closed when we went there. The dam is right by the 441 highway and but you might not be able to spot it while driving. They have several adventures and attractions here. They also have several trails around the falls.

Hiking area
Tallulah Gorge Rim Trail is a 2.5-mile loop of moderate difficulty, offering breathtaking views and the chance to cross a narrow suspension bridge with stunning vistas of the 1,000-foot-deep gorge below. The trail features numerous waterfalls along the way and includes around 300 steps down and back up, with an additional 200+ steps each way if you choose to descend to the base.
Took the trail down to the suspension bridge. Views were great. Hike was strenuous, so don’t ignore the sign! Going down was fine, but had to sit at benches to rest when going back up. My 5 year old managed to climb up herself (thankfully). We enjoyed the gift shop. Has cute trinkets and some snacks, but closes at 5pm.
Nazia K — Google review
June 18, 2025. If you want to go all the way down into the Gorge, you must get a permit. Unfortunately, it was closed the day we went. We did the north and south rim trial. There are over 1000 steps, so be prepared. In the heat, this is a long, hard walk. It is definitely worth walking if you are in the area. We would love to come back and get down in the Gorge.
Tj M — Google review
We really enjoyed the views. We didn’t hike to the bridge this time but it seemed like at almost every outlook you could see a different waterfall. Really nice.
Karen L — Google review
Very nice experience. My husband, myself, 16 year old niece, and 6 year old daughter walked the north rim but didn't do the stairs or suspension bridge. The place was ridiculously crowded, so we felt rushed. They have a gift shop where they sell drinks and snacks. Picnic tables were limited at the museum-information area. We made sandwiches on our truck bed and ate in the sun. So that was disappointing. We planned to relax and eat. More tables are needed, in my opinion. The waterfalls are breathtaking and worth the walk. You can see the dam too from one overlook.
Velinda I — Google review
My family and I just went there and by luck, it was one of the weekends when they were releasing water from the dam. It was amazing, the difference of having been there Saturday late afternoon (when there hadn't been a release yet) and Sunday morning. I remember thinking, "the water sounds a LOT louder today" when first getting there Sunday 😄 It really was an amazing place! We loved the views and the north/south rim trails were not challenging but had great payout!
Gregg L — Google review
Awesome place to hike but do be ready to go down and back up a lot of stairs!!! The views from all of the different lookouts is amazing. We did the loop and on the other side of the gorge you are able to see the lookouts we were on earlier and it was amazing at how high up we were. Will defiantly be back to walk on the gorge floor when they open it back up and it is warmer. They only give out 100 passes per day and the ranger we spoke with said that one the weekends passes “sell out” in a mater of minutes.
Travis E — Google review
TONS of verticality here. If you plan on seeing the waterfalls, prepare to go down and back up a couple hundred steps. It's a lot! But it's really worth it. There is a rim trail that goes along the top of the gorge that offers neat views from above if you have children, or are looking for a light hike. There are signs that clearly show the difficulty and length of each route, which is helpful. The welcome center is really informational, and gives a good background on the geological features and the history of the gorge. There's a few rangers that can answer questions, a gift shop, exhibits, and a theater. It's a really cool preface to the hike, and isn't too overwhelming.
Trenton A — Google review
Death by stairs! ☠️ It was great! Absolutely stunning views and so much fun using the suspension bridge to cross the river. The stairs really aren’t that bad for anyone in decent shape. We went to all the lookouts and even explored down at the gorge. I would have loved to be there on a release day to see them open the damn. Will definitely be back for more adventures.

Lake Tugalo is one of the six lakes created by Georgia Power's damming of the Tallulah River in the early 1900s. It is situated between Lake Tallulah Falls and Lake Yonah, with the stunning Tallulah Gorge spanning between them. The lake offers a beautiful setting for kayaking and swimming, and there are rural camping spots available for those who want to enjoy its natural beauty.
Most Beautiful lake. Have camped here many times in rural spots since I was a kid.

This overlook is also where you can find the Suspension Bridge, known for its breathtaking views. Keep in mind that there is an entrance fee of $5 for parking at this location.
Very beautiful & scenic views. Most of the overlooks are easily accessible. Overlook 2 is a bit strenuous but the suspension bridge at the end is an amazing experience.

Pictures don't do this place justice. Come and visit, $5 easy parking, clean facilities and store. Bring good walking/trekking shoes or sneakers and light and comfortable clothes, and your bottle of water or Gatorade. From the visitor's center to the Falls it's a 10 minute walk. But it'll be a few hours if you intend to hike the entire trail, and well worth it.

The General Store in Tallulah Falls offers a nostalgic experience, transporting visitors to a time when sodas came in glass bottles and toys sparked imaginative play. The store features an eclectic mix of local and non-local goods, including hand-dyed ice cream, Nehi sodas, fudge, crafts, and gifts. Visitors can also enjoy a milkshake made with local dairy while exploring the attached art gallery where artists create new pieces.
What an ultra-charming place!! It literally has it all - groceries, souvenirs, gifts, an art gallery, locally handmade jewelry and crafts, including amazing soaps, new and gently used camping gear, an ice cream parlor with milk shakes, old fashioned candy and sodas, snacks, retro and new toys and eclectic art pieces - in the same storefront as the original Tallulah Falls General Store that began in the early 1900s. Mary Beth Hughes has brought this Tallulah Falls staple back to life with a flare that is all her own! From the colorful rockers and handmade wind chimes on the front porch, to the stained glass pieces, everything about this place says "Come on in and stay awhile!!" You won't be sorry!

What a treasure! This place is adorable and packed full of great stuff with super friendly staff that make you feel welcome like an old friend. Many, many local artisans (pottery, glass, windchimes, handmade soaps, jams, local honey and more) are featured, as well as new vintage toys and nostalgic candy, and even some hiking gear.

On our visit to Tallulah Falls, we dropped by this well-laid-out historic store. The store features a broad selection of clothing and unique souvenirs to take home, in addition to an assortment of old-fashioned candies, fudge, ice cream, canned foods, and various other appetizing snacks and drinks. We took a break to sit outside in the rocking chairs, snacking and savoring the fresh air. The store's atmosphere is quaint, historic, and rustic, as well as the few other surrounding buildings. The young lady who assisted us was very kind and helpful.

If you are passing near Talullah Gorge State Park be sure to visit the nearby town of Talullah Falls. Not much of the town remains today however the General Store is not to be missed! It is housed in one of the only original surviving buildings and is well over 100 years old. Even many of the shelves and fixtures are original. It is an operating store and has a wonderful traditional appearance. An excellent mix of new, traditional and antique merchandise. I met the owner and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local history of the town. Be sure to take a break and step back in time with a visit to this amazing store. A Nehi soda and an ice cream treat will brighten any day.

Tallulah Point, located in Tallulah Gorge State Park, offers a nostalgic experience with its old-school candy, drinks, and souvenirs. The scenic beauty along the shores of Tallulah Lake provides a perfect backdrop for picnics and leisurely walks. While the small store at the overlook has closed down temporarily, visitors can still enjoy the beautiful views of the gorge. Additionally, there are various hiking options available in the park for those looking to explore further.
My family and I last visited this area 29 years ago, and it's more stunning than I recall. Unfortunately, the old general store on the cliff had to be relocated due to the 2-story building falling into disrepair. Tallulah Gorge stretches two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks or obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor. A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, offering breathtaking views of the river and waterfalls. There are several lookout areas around the park with secluded camp grounds available. We enjoyed the exhibits in the park's Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center showplacing the rich history of this Victorian resort town. The displays were very interesting and educational. A gift shop offers snacks, jewelry, toys, books, walking sticks, clothing, and more. We also visited the relocated general store and purchased a few souvenirs. Tallulah Adventures and the Edge Cafe are a sure stop before leaving the area. A family with children will have a delightful lunch and can sit outside under a pavillion and watch the kids play various games, including rock climbing. There is an outdoor bar as well. We loved our day long visit and hope to return soon.

Campground
Terrora Campground, located in Tallulah Gorge, is a family-friendly spot with a playground for kids. While some sites like 41, 42, and 43 have long driveways, they may not be suitable for large vehicles due to narrow roads and low branches. However, site 44 has an unusual setup with the table, BBQ, and fire pit on the same side as the water and electric hookups.
Clean and peaceful campground. There is plenty of space between sites. Hiking trails everywhere. We enjoyed our stay.
Mr. G — Google review
The campsites are pretty close together and our site’s (#44) fire pit was awkwardly situated for a tent. The comfort station near the front of the campground is very well kept, the one in the middle, a little less so, but still decent. The campground seems smaller than it looks on the map. The park is pretty, most of the sites are shaded, and there’s an entrance to The trails at the back of the campground. You can hear traffic all day. Still, We had a lovely time over Memorial Day.
Kris B — Google review
Used to be great. Now gate doesn't always work. Bathrooms by playground are closed entirely, and the other isn't open till well after at 9am and who knows when they close it after.
Jessica R — Google review
This was a nice campground. We spent three nights total here in a popup camper, and we enjoyed every bit of it. If you are wanting super spacious camp sites, we'll it's not exceptionally so. Yes, you can see your neighbors, but that said you aren't crammed in like sardines (and yes I have actually been to "camprgrounds" that have you just that close together with your neighbors sewage right next to your picnic table so this is loads better). Each site is fairly roomy, most have gravel to flatten the spot, every site I saw was nice and shady, and there's at least a few feet between sites, some more than others. Honestly, the distance between sites is fairly standard for state parks, at least in GA. The campground itself has very friendly staff and campground hosts. We were treated great the whole time. All of the sites were very clean. I actually saw the campground host going by recently emptied sites to check them and clean up anything left behind. Located at the campground is an entrance to the Tallulah Gorge State Park trails, conveniently located to access the main trails. Within a short walking distance you can view the dam and just a little further the beach at the lake. Personally, we opted to drive to the Interprative Center to walk the trails of the actual gorge because we didn't want to be tired already before we even got to get to the bridge, let alone coming back. But you can get there from the campground trail access. My only real complaint was that the bathrooms were not great. The stalls, especially for the showers, are so small you can't really even wash yourself without bashing your head while trying to bend down. There was nowhere to put you clean clothes and towels in the outer stalls, so you just had to either place them on the floor 😬 or lay them over the outer stall door and hope everyone is as honest as you. Even the outer stalls are so small that getting dressed after your shower is a chore because you can't really bend down. This was true for the men's and women's bathrooms. The cleanliness could have been better too. My husband said there was one toilet stall that was unusable our whole stay because it was clogged and never cleaned up and they had another stall run out of toilet paper for a whole day. The women's restroom stalls weren't that bad, thankfully, but it did not appear as though anyone ever came and cleaned it, just replaced toilet paper and the trash. Overall, the site was lovely and well kept. It has easy access to both the state park and town with plenty to do nearby. The bathroom situation could use a little work, but otherwise I have no real complaints. I wouldn't be against staying here again as there is so much to do and see, even in three days we couldn't get it all done.
Rebecca B — Google review
very picturesque trails, better to come on weekdays, there are fewer people
Veronika K — Google review
Enjoyed our stay. Hiked all the trails in two days. The gorge bottom was not open, it had rained yesterday. Not much in the town, but Walmart is only 10 minutes away.
Todd J — Google review
The park is beutiful and we'll worth the visit, but if you're tent camping and using the showers they're not the cleanest and could use an upgrade. All the sites around us had new gravel added to smooth them out and the cement picknic table was sunk in the ground lower on one side than the other.
Anthony S — Google review
Sites 41,42,43 are long drive ways, but the road to the site can't accommodate a big rig. There is a tight turn with a narrow road and some low branches. So if your big and tall think twice and do some digging into more reviews of some who may have done it. So far there isn't anyone in these sites bigger than 32is feet. Site 44 is weird with having the table bbq and fire pit on the same side as the water and electric. The bathrooms are old but aren't as filthy as previous reviews. Maybe the park is finally getting the hint after 2 plus years of bad reviews. I would stay again.

A kayaking-hiking-campers hobbist paradise. Great selection of all kinds of gear. Stopped over for a quick browse - found a few products to be a little pricey but great selection and quality. Got some ideas for our next trip to the Smoky Mountains or camping around and may stop by- hopefully and hoping for a better customer service. The two sales ladies kept a very straight face with us - uninterested and they were generally not talkative to us or other customers. A quick greet to others and they missed us altogether to our delight at entry and exit. No thank you or have a nice day type greeting at all while they stared at our exit. Usually customers have a lot of questions in these kind of stores and the attendants should be attendant and helping them decide on large ticket items.

Amazing service!!! So artful and intimate! The owner was so pleasant and taught me new things! The space is so amazing, the music is amazing, the kava experience is very traditional and oh so good! Highly recommend coming here!
Aurora B — Google review
We had just hiked to the bottom of Tallulah Gorge, which is an excellent hike, and were seeking local food at 3:10 in the afternoon. The hostess at Kava told us they close between 3 and 4 to clean the grills, but that she could offer hamburgers or the day's special of short ribs with rice and vegetables. She had me at short ribs -- and also for agreeing to seat us. (The night before I had experienced the bizarre food hunt at a Black Walnut in Norcross GA. The place was empty and the service was, by design, non-existent. When 7 people came in 10 minutes before closing, the staff turned them away -- and Black Walnut was OPEN!) The ribs were terrific and the people charming. The entire bill including two drinks came to about $25. Back in Atlanta tonight, I ate at a Seasons 52 where I noticed the price of just one plate of ribs was $25.50. Kava is rustic -- or maybe artsy -- but it is a perfect pairing when exploring Tallulah Gorge. What a terrific meal and lovely service.
Glenn P — Google review
For starters this place is plastered with beer signs everywhere only to sit down and they don’t serve beer at all, something about fake IDs is what the girl told us. They were out of pork so we couldn’t get the nachos so we got two burgers instead (they ran out of buns) and our burgers came out well done instead of medium, they were also out of mash potatoes and Cole slaw. After we got our food we had to go and get our own napkins and ketchup. We were never checked on. The quality of the food (what they had left) was ok but the customer service is lacking.
Thefoodie _ — Google review
My friends and I came here for a quick bite to eat before we hiked at Tallulah Gorge. Little did we know that we would be here for 1.5 hours. After we finally got our drinks and ordered, it took about an hour for all the food to come out— with the last to come to be the kids grilled cheese. Multiple people had to ask for our sides to be brought out and couple of the orders were completely wrong. The food itself was greasy and undercooked. When we were ready to pay (after the 20 minute wait for our checks) we were told that the owner had to come to bring cash for the register. Needless to say it was a very disappointing trip with no redeeming qualities other than the staff seemed to be good natured.
Caroline W — Google review
We enjoyed our dinner on Memorial Day! The staff was warm and friendly. The food was yummy! 3 of us had shrimp and chicken skewers and one had the chicken BBQ. The restaurant is casual. We sat outside on the screened porch. We would go back sometime! It is a wonderful addition to the area! You can't find a menu like that nearby.
Rennie S — Google review
Skip this place if you know what’s good for you. There’s tolerable fast food only about 30mins away. You’ll be glad you waited. Kava House Grill doesn’t seem to be the cleanliest of places. The food was not good. The service wasn’t good either. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy dining here after or before a gorgeous hike at the gorge.
Jane R — Google review
I wish I had the kind of experience as the other people who wrote wonderful reviews. My wife and I were there last weekend and had the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. We were seated on the porch and waited to be asked what we wanted to drink. It didn't happen. After 15 minutes I went to the woman at the register and told her we haven't been acknowledged. Shortly after, a nice young girl took our drink order, then she took our food order. Then we waited and waited and waited for at least 45 minutes. Other people who came in after us had been served, eaten their food and left. We were still waiting. I'm not a complainer but I went to the woman at the register again and asked about our food. Shortly after the waitress came and told us our food was coming right out. I think she forgot to put the order in. We waited and waited and waited for another 20 minutes. A second group of people had come, been served and left and we're still sitting there waiting. At this point, we're ready to leave when she shows up with the food. We were there more than 2 hours. My food was mediocre and my wife liked hers but I will not go back there and I will not recommend this place. Oh...and the bathrooms were nasty so imagine the kitchen. :(
Dana F — Google review
Overpriced and poor quality. Took my family to hike the gorge, then stopped in to eat here. I ordered the layered nachos, had the nachos not all been burnt to a crisp it would have decent..granted mine was the only edible meal. My wife couldn't eat her chicken skewers, my mother in law ate her meal, but said it was awful, and my son hated his burger. All in all, I spent $70 for a terrible family meal. We could have gone to ihop and had something decent for nearly half that price. Next trip to Talullah, we'll find something else.

Nestled in the stunning landscape of Georgia, the Georgia Power Plant Tugalo is part of a remarkable series of lakes formed by damming the Tallulah River in the early 1900s. This engineering marvel created six picturesque lakes, including Lake Tugalo, which offers breathtaking views and a unique opportunity for exploration. The nearby Tallulah Gorge adds to the area's natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking scenic vistas and adventure.
Definitely worth the explore. Great views.

Park
Overlook 7, located along the South Rim Trail, features a spacious shaded pavilion. However, dense vegetation obstructs views of the gorge. The overlook is situated near Highway 441, which runs parallel to the trail and creates some noise pollution. Just a short distance north from Overlook 7 is the final lookout on the South Rim Trail, offering one of the most picturesque views in the park.

7 miles total in and back, but worth it! Places to stop off along the way and enjoy the creek and scenery. Packed a lunch and stayed all afternoon. Great day hike idea.

Great experience. The new bridges make the experience better. It’s a pretty moderate hike, with some short areas being the hardest part. There is some walking on rocks and walking through tree stems, but overall worth the hike. About 8M to the waterfall

Great hiking area! Good parking, beautiful falls. Good for all levels, just a little long. Many campsites / picnic sites to use for the fam!

This trail has it all we really enjoyed it ,the falls at the end makes the effort worth it!!

Truly loved the park. Multiple sites to access the creek within a half mile of the trail. Picnic tables, bathrooms and ample parking. Wasn’t too crowded, and very easy for two six year olds to have an absolute blast without worrying they’d fall in or get pulled away by any fast moving creeks. Will be returning!

It’s 3.5 miles to the waterfall itself, all downhill going there. The trail is heavily traveled and there are two water crossings with no bridges because of the flood. Anytime after noon you will see at least 50 groups of people. Even at 10 am the place is crowded. Very beautiful, but too many people to enjoy the nature side of it.

Great hike with great views. The last two times I’ve been the bridge has been out when crossing the river so keep that in mind.

This spot is such a fern gully escape from the busy lives we tend to lead and even an hour here is enough to rejuvenate your working spirit. Lots of places to explore off the main trails, a bit rooty, and narrow in places and the climb could be a bit difficult for bad knees but I highly recommend it.
