Discovery Bay, California: A Unique Waterfront Community Discovery Bay is a charming, one-of-a-kind town located in Contra Costa County. Known as a “waterfront community,” it’s a haven for those who love outdoor activities, water sports, and a relaxed lifestyle. What Makes Discovery Bay Special 1. Waterfront Living: • Most homes are located along a series of man-made lagoons connected to the California Delta, allowing residents to dock their boats right in their backyards. • Perfect for boating, fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying stunning waterfront views. 2. Outdoor Recreation: • Proximity to the California Delta offers unparalleled access to 1,000 miles of waterways. • Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the Discovery Bay Golf & Country Club. • Several parks and trails provide opportunities for walking, biking, and family outings. 3. Community Vibe: • Discovery Bay is a tight-knit community with a small-town charm. • Local events, like farmers’ markets and holiday parades, foster a sense of belonging. 4. Dining and Amenities: • While it’s a smaller town, Discovery Bay offers a mix of casual and fine dining, particularly with waterfront restaurants where you can enjoy meals with scenic views. • Nearby Brentwood provides additional shopping and entertainment options. 5. Proximity to Major Cities: • Located about 60 miles from San Francisco and 40 miles from Sacramento, making it a great option for those seeking a quieter lifestyle within commuting distance of larger cities. Things to Keep in Mind • Cost of Living: Waterfront properties can be expensive, but they’re a worthwhile investment for those seeking a unique lifestyle. • Rural Feel: While picturesque, Discovery Bay may feel a bit isolated for those who prefer urban conveniences. • Traffic: The main route, Highway 4, can get congested during peak hours. Overall Impression Discovery Bay is a paradise for water lovers and those seeking a serene, community-oriented lifestyle. With its picturesque views, abundant recreation options, and welcoming vibe, it’s an excellent place to live, visit, or invest in a vacation home.
Came here for an event, but what a beautiful property. Haven't eaten here, but all the staff helping so we're very friendly and helpful, and look at it...it was a gorgeous day to enjoy the scenery! The gold course itself seems laid out in a pretty easy-to-follow path. The driving range is in a central location. The downstairs area has bathrooms and places to fill water bottles only (sign says not to fill coolers). Parking sends adequate but not much shade, so plan ahead with a towel on your seat or a sun shade...those seats will be hot! 😬🥵
My nephew just got married there. It is an absolute dream of a venue. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It made the day .
Golf course is very nice but my poor experiences are with the pro shop staff and policies. They signed on with an outside vendor that states tee times can be reserved 5 days in advance. Not once, not twice but several times they tell me to call the next day to make my reservation. Why tell the vendor to advertise 5 days in advance when they won’t honor what they say? Mind you this doesn’t happen all of the times, it’s been like 60% of the time. Edit … So I guess they use a different concept of counting days. To which I reply, if I were told one day in advance … wouldn’t that be the day before? Not the day of … working backwards from let’s say a Friday. Thursday (would be 1), Wednesday (2), Tuesday (3), Monday (4) and Sunday (5). They will tell you to call on Monday …
It is very beautiful and fun course and have a lot of water. I really like this course 🌷🌷🌷🌷😀
As DJ Rockalot I recently performed for a wedding here. The backdrop for the ceremony is beautiful and interior of the country club is elegant. I definitely recommend Discovery Bay Country Club for your next event!
The best club in the area. Fairways are pristine; greens are perfect; the people are over the top nice. Very happy to able to play this course!
