Amazing views. The trail can be pretty wet at times depending on the time of year and recent weather. The summer time is humid as can be back in the bush so bring water.
Went here April 18, trail was still covered with snow and ice. Recommended to wear tall hiking boots as the snow is deceptively deep in multiple places. My leg went knee deep into snow while walking on the trail at multiple places. The end product is definitely worth it, what a sight!
The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful 😍 but the cliffs are very dangerous 😳. Be responsible and extra careful when shooting your photos to find that perfect angle. There's a reason why it's named The Devil's Rock.
Stunning views formed over 200 million years. Serene and peaceful and enjoyed the trail leading to the peak point. Also this is not a high traffic tourist spot which makes it even more enjoyable.. definitely recommend checking this grm out
Great trail very nice views of the water .
Remarkable views! Although, I will say that this lake's water is quite brown, I'm not sure if that's related to the soil, the water's depth or what but it was a bit surprising. Even still, looking over the edge of the 300' cliff is really quite exhilarating and it's certainly worth the hike.
Wanted to come here for such a long time! The views will not disappoint. Trail A is very well marked. It was a bit muddy in places and you have to watch your steps because loose stones. But it's so worthy!
Great little hike to Devil's Rock, also known as Spirit Rock. The name was changed when the Christians came because they associated the native spirituality with the devil.. This hike has some rugged terrain of mostly compacted soil with some areas of stones and rock. The scenery at the end of the trial is spectacular, with a beautiful view of Lake Temiskaming from the cliffs edge. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Visited in May 2024, luckily under guidance of Charlie Angus MP with his silver mine tunnel tour, which was a feature program of Cobalt Mining Museum. This place is far beyond our expectations, if you want to know more about what built the trait of Canada as a nation, you shouldn’t miss this place
We were camping in the area and happened upon this as something to do. The museum was much bigger than I had expected and had a lot of information on various topics related to local mining history. They also have the tour in the mine which was an unexpected addition. Both the museum staff and tour guide were friendly and knowledgeable. I'm a vlogger and was able to take lots of great footage inside the mine as well! The museum also has a map available of all the different mine sites and some locals recommended we check that out and it was super cool as well. I highly recommend doing all the sites, especially if you don't know much about the areas history.
Super friendly staff lots of great historical mining equipment and history of cobalt. Loved it! Dog friendly as well!! My pup loved it here
We visited Cobalt due to the rich Canadian history it holds. What a fabulous education it was. We loved everything we learned about the town and the mines. A very special place for sure. Definitely worth a visit.
If you're looking for a cool thing to do with your family, consider the Colbalt Museum and mines. It's an educational tour, that takes you back in time. Entering the mine is such a treat, and may not be an option in years to come; as many of the mines are closed to the public. The tour in the mine is only takes about 15 minutes, however, the guide is highly informative. You'll be amazed at the amount of work miners did with their bare hands, and astonished at their working conditions. When we visited, our family received a private tour, as we were the only guests. This allowed us to ask many questions. After your tour with the guide, take a drive and check out the other mine sites. You can visit a mine that is so cold that it perpetually pumps out a fine mist on a hot summer's day and another that has crumbled to ruins. Look for the metal dragon and sculptures in the rocks. Visit the museum where you will find old relics and a room with glowing rocks. The museum sells souvenirs, and the little town offers a small downtown shopping district.
Great little tour, Nothing fancy but makes you feel like it was in 1920. The fact that they kept some of the drifts the same is the way it shows history. The only thing I would suggest is that they make other sites available to visit underground and start the tour at the museum with a the head frame and explain from there.
complete waste of time. staff don't know the components of their own museum (I asked how to activate the audio for the section at the very back and received blank stares), and it was about 15 minutes before the tour was meant to start when we were informed that if we didn't have our own vehicle, we were out of luck. purchasing the tickets an hour before touring wasn't enough time for someone with, allegedly, 5 years of experience to confirm that we had our own transportation as they assume all customers come from out of town via car and they can't bring you in their company vehicles. we spent the money instead at the haileybury fire museum and had a fantastic time.
The mine tour was great. Highly recommend!

Chat Noir is one of my favourite places to spend time. Great selection of books, games, and puzzles. Delicious coffee and very friendly staff!
We were in the area for a work trip. Cute little town. We tried the S@&$?@“ks but it was the worst ever. So happy we found Chat Noir Books coffee shop!! It is a gem! And the BEST Latte we ever had, no joke. I have had many Latte’s, it was the best!! We browsed the store, many cool items, loved the vibe! Staff and customers were all cool. A must stop if you are ever in town!
Chat Noir is such a lovely local bookstore. It is my favourite place to be during my leisure. They have local books, books of national and international interest. Interestingly they also have a small section for francophones which is rare to find in big chains. They also carry a variety of interesting board games. Needless to say, the owners and staff are so personable and serve delicious snacks and beverages. Cheers!
Very wonderful & welcoming shop. Tons of great reads, games, gifts & delicious coffee. Stop by & you might find that hidden gem
Fantastic shop with a little of everything and a lot of D&D. Something for everyone and lots of unique books and games. Everyone in our family found something. Had a great latte from the coffee bar too
Great, fun store to go to. Could spend hours in there looking at all the great games and books.
One of the greatest hidden gems in all of Ontario. I never pass through the area without stopping in at Chat Noir. If I could give it 10 stars out of 5 I would!!!
Great shop....Great to see shop like this, way better the shops in the big city. Keep it up!

Great little museum, quite a bit to see. Donations only, don't have to buy tickets. Didn't have to wait to enter, but also went on a week day. People very friendly.
Please visit this amazing museum. It is a must-see when you are in the area. Ask for Morgan professional polished young gentleman who knows very well the history of Haileybury and the areas around it. He creates history by gathering together historic items. Morgan Thank you a million. Keep up to good work and your passion to conduct the wonderful and detailed tours in the museum. Thank you for the newspapers and for picking the books of Canadian authors. Wishing you success in everything you do. Giannina Valencia🌷
Visited in July 2018. Excellent and friendly staff. Had great tour. Focus is on the tri-town area and Haileybury specifically. Lots of interesting artefacts and historic documents. What is the link to the author of the Hardy Boys books? Well, you will have to visit to find out! Worth the stop.
We were at the Spring Pulse Poetry Festival and stopped in here and at the Cobalt Mining Museum. Not far from each other. Amazing history.
Lots of interesting facts, friendly staff. Good small town museum
A great site with excellent indoor & outdoor exhibits and a nice locally used older Tugboat
Very historical knowledge and nice staff

Lifeguards until 6pm, they were very nice, respectful, friendly and attentive. The slide is a real bonus kids loved it and so did I. Really organized. Clean bathrooms. Water was cold and refreshing, amazing. Huge floating dock where its deeper, fun, so much room. There’s a little splash pad which was also fun and a nice park. The beach was clean, there’s music which is a little loud and maybe not the most appropriate music for kids, but that would not deter me from coming back, I’d sit a little further from the speakers if I was with the kids. Amazing beach can’t wait to visit again.
Nice carpet for wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and wagons. 2 lifeguards today, who will open the slide for free use. Some shade in the afternoon.
Fun place to go too what if you like swimming or wanting to go for a scenic walk or a picnic on the shores you will have an amazing time
Absolutely love this place, it's definitely a hidden gem for sure. Great beach with lifeguards, water toys for the kids and changing rooms too. Its extremely close to all amenities, ice cream and a motel just down the road. Clean, friendly with lots for the kids, what more could you ask for.
It’s a nice place to visit. It’s very relaxing!
Stopped for a quick swim on a hot day. Beach wasn’t too busy as it was the first September after kids went back to school. Great location. Very nice. Very clean.
Great family beach with life guards and a snack shack.
Love biking to The beach to have a swim. Beautiful beach, beautiful area.

Amazing assortment of all cheese. If you are looking for curds, look up and you will see a big sign 🙃. Wonderfully helpful staff. Thanks
The staff was friendly and patient lwith my ever deciding children lol.The cheese curds are awesome, dill flavor is the family favorite so far. Kids loved the ice cream, lots of variety! We will definitely be back through out the summer!
Small store attached to the factory (couldn't tell if you can get tours?) with good variety of cheeses and specialty cheeses. We went for the flavoured cheese curds and the award winning blue cheese.
Decent selection of local cheeses and gourmet products. Loses a star cause fresh curds are only available once a week.
Would be awesome if they updated there website to show there Permently closed. I
Great road trip. Cheese is excellent. Will go again. Paid lots less than expected.
We stopped there on the way back from our trip up North. It was my first time there. It's a small but cute cheese factory. We tried the regular fresh cheese curds and the flavored ones too. We loved them. We got a bunch of different cheesesrthat I can't wait to try. We will be stopping there on our way home again next time.
The cheese here is amazing, we had some in Timmins and had to stop on the way back home to get some fresh to take home!

This museum is a hidden gem. Hidden away in the small northern town of cobalt, it’s a must see. I was in town and I message them on FB. Although they were closed during my time there, they went out of their way to meet me and the kids there. I was blown away! Such great work done in there! Be going back again!
Well equipped WW2 museum memorabilia & everything else military related in quaint Cobalt. Wonderful attendant, but bring cash to pay the entrance.
Great museum; especially if you are interested in military history. It is very clean, well organized and some different and unique displays and presentation of the information. My kids loved trying on the military uniforms and seeing the uniforms from different countries and military branches. The artifacts are interesting too and well displayed. The whole family enjoyed it and it was good value too. We were the only people there when we came.
Amazing collection of artifacts, well displayed, and fully accessible
Really enjoyed our visit to The Bunker! Riley took us around sharing amazing details about items on display and sharing with us the back stories of some amazing peices donated and on display at the museum. Worth a visit!
Stunning Military Museum. It is a must-see when you are in the amazing Cobalt town. Riley is a professional young lady who knows so much about the 2nd war. The Museum displays letters from The King to Uniforms from many European countries everything is in mint condition. Riley thank you very much for the great job you do by showing the tourist this gem. I wish you the best in anything you are planning for your future. Best Regards, Giannina Valencia
The Bunker is a great little military museum. If you have an interest in military history it is definitely worth a visit. For such a small museum, it has a very impressive collection of artifacts, particularly uniforms. There is a good local focus on the Algonquin Regiment too. The Bunker is just a few doors down from the Cobalt Mining Museum ... also a excellent place to stop. All in all, a great place to spend a couple of hours learning about military history and local history.
Such a great experience. Margo was nice enough to open the museum during the holiday for my girlfriend and I and give us a tour. She is very knowledgeable. Thanks for everything Luc B

Great for kids, performers and young spirited adults. Most of the kids want to sit in the front row to interact with the performers on stage. The also have bands play on a regular basis. Sometimes the entertainers will greet us at the front entrance into the building. Be sure to check out their website for Facebook page with performing shows.
What a lovely experience . The Cobalt Classic Theatre never disappoints. It always brings back memories of our SOS benefit concerts back in the 90’s. I have so many cherished memories from that theatre . And the productions that come into that place are as great as the big City theatres. So worth it 💖🌸🫶🏻
Had a great time at a catered event on the mezzanine level. Service was excellent and kudos for supporting local artists!
The building that has shared talent, history and culture for over a century ❤
The Classic Theatre is an essential community resource. A wide variety of Canadian talent come to perform here. It is always exciting to see what the next set of shows is going to be.
Went here for the first time in my life to watch blooms a cobalt documentary. What a amazing little spot. I loved the chairs with the plaques on them. Very nice
Classic theatre was awesome as a kid I want to see more concerts come to cobalt.

Love Laura's Art Shoppe - So much local art, beautiful clean environment, and run by a wonderful artist whose passion for creating art is apparent! Worth the visit; a northern gem :)
Laura has created such a beautiful showcase. This is one stop you surely don't want to miss!

The Best Summer Spot!! Located beach side this is the ultimate spot to spend the day! Have an awesome experience Mini Putting, topped off with fresh poutines and ice cream! Great Food and portions! After that adventure to the park with the children that are always busy!! Clean Public Bathrooms are available, also located beside the boardwalk that circles the shores of Lake Temiskaming. Had a wonderful day! Will be back again next weekend!!!
We had a blast at the mini putt! It's a challenging and fun course that the children enjoyed! It's decorated well and is right beside the beach. You can get something to eat from the canteen there, plenty of picnic tables to use. Washrooms are located in the building and The boardwalk connects directly to the building. You gotta check it out!
Its fun place to go to. Its a tiny bit challenging and a fun activity for the weekend. The best part is its pretty affordable ($7/person)
Loved it as a younget me. They took away the wooden barriers and replaced with cement. Not the same feel as a kid.

Great course with great staff! Couldn't ask for a better neighbour haha!
Played here as part of recent road trip in August. My playing partners and I were pleasantly surprised and will definitely stop by again on our next drive ( will actually make it part of the plan). The course is 2 very different 9s and obviously the back 9 is the preferred 9 for the local folks. We started on the front and not a soul in site so we thought this would be a quick turn around. Front 9 was in good shape but fairly open and in need of some maturing but still a fair challenge. When we got to the back 9 there was a small back up but the locals let us play through which was very appreciated. Big thumbs up to the locals here... Back 9 was the gem of this track and provided some very memorable holes which will bring me back next time through. Overall the course was a good playing conditions but the bunkers could use a little work. The staff was awesome and helpful and to the gentleman who when back to his house to get more hat options for my friend it was extremely appreciated (Even if it was a Leafs hat).
Played here a few weeks ago with a club member. Noticed a group of 6 playing a few holes ahead, so brought it to the attention of the club manager. That was ignored, as nothing was done about it. Left a message on their Facebook messanger, also went ignored. Ignoring your paying customers is definitely not the best way to get repeat business!
Great course in Northern Ontario. The driving range is a total plus. I will say some amazing golfers at this course staff is always willing to help.
The course is beautiful and very well maintained. As an intermediate golfer, I struggled and lost a lot of balls partly due to the extremely deep rough. Other than that it's a great course.
Course in good shape. Friendly staff. Beautiful views of surrounding farms. An enjoyable round. Bruins golf balls in Pro Shop!
My husband's retirement gathering was hosted here. Such a lovely spot.
The course is in pretty good shape this early in the season.

This modest museum is a great portal for history of pioneers who developed the agricultural of the CLAYBELT - basically a prairie in the middle of the Canadian Shield. From a former Board member.
