It was a gigantic statue of geese and my family loved it. There was wonderful mesmerizing view to Lake Superior. And a list of all tourist spot. At night we stayed in Motel HWY 17. It was located right next to OPP. And we felt safe to stay there and the quality was better than many five star ⭐️ hotel. There was a free parking and petrol station 🚉 right next to it.
The Wawa Goose is a good stop off highway 17. The visitor center focuses on the history of Wawa. Signs outside highlight history, but also current ways to enjoy the area. There's information about fishing derbies, the Lake Superior Circle Tour, and the Voyageur Trail (among others).
Nice stop for a break and a look at a goose that won't attack you. There is a tourist center here that has WiFi and bathrooms; however, it is seasonal. Not much here, but it's worth a stop. Don't forget to drive further down the road to see the original... I definitely forgot to.
We stopped by after the tourist center and gift shop closed. However, there was lots of helpful information on signs spread throughout the area. There were a few places that provided a good view of the area, and some picnic tables by the trees along the edge of the parking area.
Nice parking lot, lovely history. Always loads of weird bugs here trying to eat you, lol. A piano inside for anyone to play! VERY cool historical artifacts & info.
Stopped in Wawa Ontario to check out the Wawa goose. Photo opportunity with the goose , friendly and knowledgeable staff in the visitor center, which had some local information ,little gift shop , bathrooms, large parking area, ( capable of truck with camper ) , and free !
The Wawa Goose Monument is a quick and iconic roadside stop that’s hard to miss! 🏞️🪿 Even if you're just passing by, it's worth pulling over for a memorable photo with one of Canada's most famous geese. The monument celebrates Wawa’s name—"Wawa" means "wild goose" in Ojibwe—and has become a well-loved local symbol. There’s a small parking area nearby, making it an easy stop on your road trip! 📸🇨🇦
What they say is, you weren't been to Wawa if you don't have a photo with the Goose. But aside from the goose 🪿 you must spend time at their beach. Wawa maybe small but wonderful!

Beautiful park. Probably the best we’ve seen in all of Canada. The Agawa bay campground is best though…. But hard to book! There are waterfalls, hiking to top of mountain, beaches that are breathtaking. But the water on a calm day is unbelievable! Katherine cove stunning with bathtub island
A nice visitor center with a park information desk, art, a gift shop and other facilities. Firewood and ice can be purchased here. There's a cart to help move that firewood too. The dog exercise part of the beach is near the visitor center too.
Our visit to Lake Superior Provincial Park was in late June. We were lucky to get a reservation with a beautiful site close to the lake. The beach was breathtaking and very quiet. The facilities were clean - we opted to use the flush toilets ;) The staff were friendly and helpful in suggesting hiking trails.
Great views, a large beach and the visitor centre has an informative exhibition which is good for kids.
It's starting to show its age but it's a really nice centre and the staff are always super knowledgeable and friendly. There are a couple of picnic tables for a quick bite and the beach is nice to dip your toes in the Lake.
Friendly staff and great exhibit
Beautiful Park with glorious sunsets and beach! Their visitors center is great; but needs to have some money put back into it, to have the 3 dimensional water display of the great lakes refurbished, and some of the videos digitized to ensure they are of better quality. I'm sure nobody complains about Ontario Parks toilet paper being too thick, so I won't either. How do they make it so 🤔 thin???
Visited on a extended Labour day weekend trip from the GTA. The visitors center was open in limited capacity. The staff was very helpful in providing information on trails etc. The trail in the park were well maintained. Be careful on some trails, Apparently some people find it to take trail markers. The wood was dry and burned well. We stayed at Agawa Bay. Sleeping to the sound of waves crashing was awesome!

A very cozy and beautiful individual cabin room, I loved the kitchen and cooking amenities. The place is decorated with taste and is very well situated. The environment is relax and they accept dogs which is a big plus. You feel like in a real little cabin in the forest. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. My only two suggestions would be please put 4 pillows per bed not two because those are really thin and maybe 2 bar of soaps in the bathroom, one for the hands and one for the body. All the rest was perfect!
We had a wonderful experience at this place! The cabin was gorgeous, spotlessly clean, and the kitchenette was really well-equipped. It was also incredibly quiet — perfect for a relaxing stay. Our only small suggestion would be to add slippers for walking on the carpet. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Would 100% recommend!
We were so happy to find this place as a perfect haven for three nights in November's bluster. Greg and Bo offered warm welcome, reasonable rates, and comforts of home. The cottage is clean and cosy. Wifi and tv reception worked great. Location is quiet, picturesque, and only 5 minutes outside town of Wawa. The kitchenette served us well., with full fridge and stove. (If the stove and fridge location could be switched about, it would be less challenging, but I suppose there is a reason relating to outlets.) We take no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to travellers in this beautiful area on Lake Superior.
My husband and I had wonderful stay! The owner is very friendly and kind, he went above and beyond. He brought me a baggy of ice from his home for my eye which was swollen from gnat bites. He made us feel very welcome, showing us around! The cabin was beautiful, spotless and well-maintained. We had a fantastic experience, and we truly appreciated the outstanding hospitality. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to stay in Wawa!
Such a great place to stop for a good night's rest on our journey home from Manitoba. We arrived quite late due to heavy fog on the trip and the gentleman on duty was very kind to help us into our cabin. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The showers were hot and everthing exceeded our expectations.
Our first time staying here. Easy to find. Gorgeous location. We were in one of the rooms. It was a delight to see a stove , microwave and toaster. Not many places have them so we didn't bring food with us. Next time we will. It's a home away from home. The couple that have it are very nice. We will definitely be back to stay on our next visit to Wawa
Very friendly accommodating staff. Reasonable price. Excellent rooms, clean, comfy and cozy. Rooms are private, quiet, include a kitchenette and everything you need to make your own meals. Really wish this business was larger with more locations. I would stay there exclusively if there were more.
High Falls Motel and Cabins is a lovely place to stay. The couple who run the business are friendly and welcoming. The location is right off Highway 17 and a few minutes drive from Wawa. My first visit was in a cabin. The more recent stay was in the motel portion. Both visits were comfortable and relaxing.

Wow, this place has a little bit of everything! We enjoyed an ice cream while browsing. They are known for their yummy sausage, and while it is a tad expensive, it didn't disappoint! So many things for sale, but I suggest stopping in to see for yourself... we enjoyed it!
Employee was very nice when I was having car issues. Her boyfriend? Or friend? Helped me find the oil I was looking for. Great shop too, plenty of neat things to buy!
This is an authentic smal town general store, stocked with items from indigenous and local merchants from clothing to household items. Foods such as homemade delicious beef jerky (oh my YUM) , their famous pickle barrel. Check it out the old artifacts amongst the store is also enjoyable to look back in time of this town of Wawa
Amazing 🤩 place. If I could, I would like to go back. Friendly staff and ownership. Delicious ice cream. Super fudge. Great place. You won't be disappointed 👍
Great stop in Wawa. Free RV sani dump! Store has a bit of everything. Restrooms are outside the building. Picnic area adjacent.
This place is an adventure! Grab some pickles out of the barrel, peruse the souvenirs, check out the beautiful Moccasins, and just have fun looking at everything. I love this place!
Good ice cream. Don't be fooled by the outhouse-looking outdoor washrooms, they've got real toilets, running water, soap, and paper towels ;)
Top notch selection of souvenirs, mugs, clothing, fishing and moccassins. Has a real unique historical feel to it!

The best falls out of many I visited on the trip to Lake Superior PP. The Falls can be seen from the road but the trail is a must. Go to the top to see 5 small falls at the same level. It was a great hike and we loved it.
These waterfalls look pretty, but they’re pretty far away from the closest viewing area. It’s a bit underwhelming, but maybe worth a quick stop. It’d be nice if you could get closer though.
The falls are beautiful however kinda hard to see the parking lot is off to the side, and to get a good view, you need to stand on the road/narrow bridge. Be mindful of cars driving thru the area and wouldn't recommend bringing small children here.
Silver Falls is beautiful, there is a short hike (about 5-10 minutes) to the top of the falls. On the hike there were plenty of animals (birds, chipmunks, and even beavers) It is a must see if in Wawa, Ontario
Great little waterfall here in Wawa, On. There is a small trail on the left side of the falls that will take you up to the top of the falls (what you would see from the bridge) but there is tons more to see if you follow the trail even farther upstream. Pros: Beautiful views! Easy trail Fun activity for a short amount of time Cons: Lots of mosquitoes and black flies so bring some bug repellant. Can get muddy on the trail during spring
Beautiful falls and easy to see. Small parking lot on right just before bridge. Best views are from the bridge
Very beautiful! Great spot for a walk and to take pictures
This is the 2nd separate Waterfalls near Wawa, Ontario, the Other being Scenic Falls! Silver Falls, you drive closer to Wawa, go on a industrial road, through the 1st Nations Towmn, and the Sign is on the Right, with a small parking area but a Muddy, pothole filled ATV road! Walk through about 1/2 km and You will be Rewarded! Lots of Bugs when I made my Way with the Wife!

Agawa Rock Pictographs was one of the places I planned to visit on my trip from Winnipeg to Toronto, and it was absolutely worth it. The cliffs are stunningly high, and even the short hike to get there is beautiful in itself. The trail is rocky, sometimes slippery, and can get pretty cold, so make sure to wear proper shoes when heading down. At the site, you’ll see Agawa Rock—home to 400-year-old ancient art painted by the Ojibwe people on the granite cliffs of Lake Superior. These pictographs were created using red ochre mixed with animal fat or fish oil, which is why they’ve survived centuries of exposure. Among them is Mishipeshu, the legendary Underwater Panther—a powerful spirit in Anishinaabe mythology, believed to guard the waters and command the storms. For me, this spot was a highlight of the trip. It’s not just a beautiful natural setting, but also a powerful cultural and historical symbol of the Indigenous people of Canada. If you love history, culture, and nature, this place is a must-see …
worthwhile checking out if you are able to do some climbing. wearing non slip shoes is highly recommended. saw people wearing flip flops... it was a warm dry day but the rocks are still slippery.
So many beautiful sights to see here. From the lush woods to the pictographs, this is one of the most beautiful places I've been. The pictographs were powerful and emotional, it had felt like their spirits were there with us.
Easy on a dry day. Stay a few feet off the rock wall so you're not tempted to touch the rock wall. Please be mindful and respectful of this sacred site. Recommend kayaking from the nearby dock for the best views.
Very cool place. Short but steep walk down to the water line and then you better have some good shoes so that you can walk along the rocks without falling into the water to see the pictographs. Make sure you have your vehicle pass to park anywhere inside the park
Very cool place and we saw the photography. It was very beautiful rocks are very slippery. You have to be very careful wear the non-slippery shoes… I was going to tender Bay meanwhile I stopped at this place. It’s really cool. I loved it.
Once in a lifetime experience. The hike and trail to the water is abit ruff with huge rocks and trees. Well worth it though. Be careful when out by the water as the chains are no longer there to help guide you.
Lovely spot! I would definitely encourage to go only when is sunny because it can be challenging when is either cloudy, rainy or snowy because if you want to climb the rocks it can get slippery and could fall. There are several notices about being careful, overall the view point is also nice but you still need to go through some climbing down but only for few minutes.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It’s not for everyone, but if you love adventure and kindhearted people and getting off the beaten track this place is for you. Every meal was simple and delicious. The lodge manager is so kind and personable. The guides were kind and wonderful (especially Morgan!). Our trip had to be canceled because of wind/swells but we had a wonderful time doing day trips from base anyway. This is the kind of place you want to return to every year and I hope I can.
I just completed a multi-day paddle tour with NSA. The trip was 98% excellent. Great guides (Lolo and Mike), wonderful fellow travellers, superb scenery, logistics (food, campsites, etc) were perfect, and 90% great weather. So why only 4 stars? The website description: "The lake is mostly calm in summer, but when it gets rough we enjoy the view from shore, so experience paddling in surf and big swells is not necessary." Not accurate. Our situation required that we head out one windy day (a decision made by the guides but agreed upon 100% by all the clients, myself included). We knew what we were up against. And we came through unscathed. But we did have two stretches of very rough water. A "washing machine" some of my companions called it. The NSA description should state that "Though Superior can be calm much of the time, the big lake is a capricious body of water and experience in big waves and swells is a must."
Two friends and I used their shuttle service when we hiked the Lake Superior Coastal Trail and we have only good things to say. They communicated well, were on time and provided a great service for us and our gear. They were especially helpful when someone in our group left something behind on the shuttle and they were able to accommodate a drop off so we could regain our gear without delaying our hike. They went above and beyond and I would recommend them highly when looking to get around the park!
this is my third year already in this magic place. Of course i would like to keep it magic and secret to myself only but we all know it doesn’t work like that so let me share the love!!
Austin and Morgan were great guides and instructors for our course. Made modifications to the trip plan due to weather and provided a great adventure for our group of 9.
It pains me to give Rock Island Lodge 4 stars and not 5. We adore this place. We have stayed in the Patterson Suit before (great option), but this time around the only accommodation available for our dates was the glam dome (pro tip: Book well in advance!). We booked based on our previous awesome experience. But the dome, in all honesty, is not at all glam or luxe. Nor is it near worth $160 a night. The furniture is worn, old, and stained. Like all domes, this one becomes a furnace during the day and is uninhabitable (though it cools down quick). Another irk is that communications with the lodge are godawful - I emailed and called multiple times weeks ahead of our visit to book a canoe trip, no one ever answered or responded. Such an odd thing to do, it feels as though they are actively thwarting business. Anyway, all that is to say that booking the lodge (if it’s available) is the way to go. And maybe wait until you get there to arrange tours. Regardless, this place is a slice of heaven.
Stopped for one night during our travel. Stunning view, good food and friendly staff.❤️
Rock Island Lodge has it all. We stayed for a mere single night late July '23 but what a joy. We hiked, boated, swam and had one of the highlights of our 2 week Superior vacation. Facilities and staff second to none and fit so pleasingly in the natural beauty of the point. Off the beaten path just enough to make it quiet and private.

This may be the loveliest lake I ever visited. Gorgeous rocks and incredibly clean, clear fresh water. We actuality drank the water, as it was so clean and fresh! We spent ages wading out and looking at the rocks as it was very calm and shallow.
Bathrooms were decent, definitely well used. Parking is excellent for a large camper if it is not busy. Beach is good for dogs as the water is shallow for throwing a ball or Frisbee into the water.
Beautiful beach with amazing views of Wawa lake.
Absolutely beautiful! I've never got to enjoy the fog rollin like that before and it was amazing ! Just such beautiful scenery, Sun, rain and fog
This is a great beach for small children because the water is usually calm and it is shallow for a long way out. There are lots of different colours of rocks to find. The location is also super convenient.
A lovely place to relax, admire the views of the Boreal forest and have a quiet picnic.
So incredibly beautiful. Visited this beach when I was on a road trip and got the best views with little to no crowd. There’s many benches to sit on and enjoy the view.
Clean beach. Shallow beach that kids can walk in for a long distance. Quiet. Has free parking. Has green port-a-potty. They were clean. Location was close to down town.

Beautiful golf course. I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area. I will definitely come back for another 9 holes. The scenery if just beautiful. The club house is top notch and the staff is very friendly and professional. They seem to go out of their way to make sure you have the most enjoyable experience as possible. There is also a lot of other activities you can do in the area. They have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from and if you’re into having a few cocktails, there is quite a few different spots to choose from. This was my first time playing this course but it definitely won’t be my last time. The course itself is very well maintained and the views are excellent, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. We are already planning another trip here for next year. It is one of the best golf courses I have played at, although I am fairly new to golfing. Some of the guys I went here with have been to many more golf course than I have, and definitely have a lot more experience than I do, but they all agreed that this was one of the finest courses that they have played at also. They all said that they can not wait until next year when we can do this all again. We were all so glad that we decided to just pick a random course in Canada and ended up playing at this beautiful golf course.
Wonderful beautiful course
Decent northern golf course. Too many geese on fairways but a good layout for a nine hole course. Pro shop has most supplies available for golfers
Great 9-hole course, well laid out and cared for, with lots of water, sand, and fun awaiting. Clubhouse serves food and beverages.
Always a great experience. Staff were very helpful and positive during these pandemic times.
Nice little golf course. 9 holes.
Nice course and friendly staff, a must stop.
Course is great. BEST GAME EVER!!!
