My family of 5 just did the intense rafting package and our guide was named Monte. He single handily made our experience unforgettable!!! We enjoyed our raft flipping countless of times and appreciated his hospitality & patience. He treated us with respect. And we pushed him to do jumps and tricks he hadn’t done before. The water park access at the end was amazing! We were definitely exhausted by the end of the day but safe to say we made great memories! Thank you Monte and wilderness tours! Highly recommended!!
We visited Wilderness Tours at the end of July and had an amazing experience! This was my kids’ second time visiting and my fourth, and every trip just keeps getting better. The new inflatables on the water were incredible — my whole family had an absolute blast with them. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere throughout the resort was wonderful. A special shoutout to our rafting guide, Andrew, who was so friendly and full of great stories. He made the family rafting trip extra fun and memorable. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and we can’t wait to come back again!
We (2 adults & 2 children) shared a luxury cabin. It was great - really nice having our own bathroom. We visited during a heatwave - the little air conditioner was much appreciated, even tho it was still hot under that metal roof 😊. The food was good enough and plenty of it - lots of fresh veggies & fruit, which I appreciated. Mostly tho, our rafting guide Rob was exceptional. He was very skilled and very sweet, and he kept us safe while making sure the trip was still a thrill. He was also knowledgeable about the natural world, if you are the kind of person who wants to know - which I am. Just a lovely guy. The overall trip leader young woman was also great. The location is spectacular. Lastly, the kids (11 years) adored the inflatable park in the water by the beach - kept them busy for hours! I would highly recommend - we visited mid-week.
Our wilderness rafting trip was such an incredible experience! Jordan, our guide, made the adventure even better – he was hilarious, easygoing, and really made everyone feel comfortable from start to finish. He struck the perfect balance between keeping us safe and making the whole journey fun and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend this trip if you’re looking for both adventure and laughter!
I had the most amazing experience with Wilderness Tours on September 7, 2025! I had always wanted to try whitewater rafting, and finally got the chance to go with my friends — it was absolutely unforgettable. We were lucky to have Lenny as our instructor, and he was fantastic. He taught us everything we needed to know in a fun, clear, and professional way — from what to do if you end up in the water, to how to swim safely, rescue each other, and even how to jump off the rocks! Every moment was exciting and full of energy. The whole day was so much fun and gave me memories I’ll never forget. I’m sure all the instructors are great, but Lenny was definitely the coolest! My friends and I are already planning to come back and do it again next year for sure. Highly recommend Wilderness Tours to anyone who wants adventure, laughter, and an incredible outdoor experience!
Had a blast! It was just our group of four plus our guide in the 6-person. Spicy good fun rocking the rapids. Fantastic guide. Had the option to jump from a cliff (about 20-25' high) into the river at one point, so of course we did lol. Highly recommended :)
We stayed at Wilderness Tours August 2025. I specifically booked accommodations with air conditioning and paid a lot for the accommodations. When we arrived our room was sweltering hot. I thought perhaps they forgot to turn the air on. We turned on the unit but it was blowing hot air. I went to the store to let the know of the problem and they said that they would send someone to look at it. The people who came said that they have had many complaints this summer about the air conditioners not working in the cabins. They said that they brought the complaints forward to the owner and nothing was done about it. They said the air conditioners are to small to cool the cabins. Ours was actually broken as the hose came out from the back of the unit when they checked it. I asked guests in other cabins if they were having issues with their air and yes they were experiencing the same issues. I even heard someone on the beach complaining about the lack of air in their cabin and let them know this was happening in our cabin as well. It was actually warmer in our cabin then it was outside which is saying a lot as we have had an extremely hot summer. When I checked out I voiced my concerns to the person at the desk. She told me to write out the complaint and she would give it to the owner. I wrote out my complaint and explained that I had paid a lot for this cabin specifically for the air conditioning and that it wasn't working. I explained that I was willing to pay the rate for a non- air conditioned unit with a washroom but that I didn't feel that it was fair that I had to pay $249 dollars a night for a unit with 'air conditioning' when I wasn't getting what I paid for. I still haven't heard from the owner about my complaint and it's been almost a month. I normally do not like to give bad reviews but I don't want other people to have this same experience. The food was okay and the rafting tour and lazy river were great. I would recommend staying off resort and coming for a day. Save yourself a lot of money and get an air conditioned hotel off site.
We deployed with 2 group's although quite windy, we enjoyed the day thoroughly- professionally done and friendly tour guides, lots of background information had been offered. Physically demanding - so quite Tiring by the end. A great day overall. Facilities are top notch for families

So much fun for our whole family! We organized an extended family trip with OWL including a two-night stay. Our group was split between low and medium intensity rafts, and everyone had an incredible day. The staff is well organized and on their game at all times, confidently guiding passengers at all levels through the rapids. We felt safe and relaxed because of their hard work. Back at the resort, it's a happy summer camp vibe with lots to do, and terrific meals prepared for us. Our RV site was clean and well-situated with water and electricity hook-ups. We definitely plan to do this again!
We had a great time white water rafting with them. We came all the way from Windsor and absolutely enjoyed our trip. Our guide Alex was amazing! If we could, we would give him 10 stars. It was a birthday present for our little guy, and I am sure this trip will be a great memory for him! Towards the end of the rafting session, he was getting tired and needed some help. Alex was super kind and understanding and tried his best to make him feel comfortable. Other guides were also very friendly. The surfing experience was great. Alex made sure to keep checking on all the team and making sure all safety measures had been taken care of. Booking was easy and smooth. Outdoor showers were great with hot water. A lovely video of our trip was already edited and shared upon arrival to the base station. I am a photographer myself, and that's super amazing how fast they processed it, so big shout out to the photographer! Thank you, everyone from OWL white water rafting team; we will be back again next year! 😊
Terrific rafting trip. I went rafting with 2 adults and 2 children, 13 and 16. The rafting was super fun, the guides are friendly and make this rafting experience great. The place is family friendly and they are very concerned about your safety. The food was good. Breakfast, lunch and Dinner were filling and tasty. The office staff are all nice and helpful. We camped in their field with our tent and it worked out great. My kids and I had a great time on medium intensity and tried high intensity the next day and had even more fun. Thank you OWL.
I had a great time rafting with OWL Rafting on the Ottawa River. The river itself is beautiful and the location is perfect for a day out in nature. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt safe while still keeping the experience exciting and fun. The rafting itself was the highlight of the trip and definitely worth doing. That said, I found the accommodations lacking. The rooms weren’t very comfortable and could use some upgrades to make the overall stay more enjoyable. For the price, I expected better quality in terms of cleanliness and comfort. This didn’t take away from the adventure itself, but it did affect the overall experience. On the service side, the staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions and assist when needed. The organization of the rafting trip was smooth, and everything ran on time. Overall, I’d recommend OWL Rafting for the river experience and the staff, but I think there’s room for improvement in the lodging aspect to make the trip feel complete.
Fantastic rafting experience! We had a 2 day medium intensity package and it was just right for a family first time rafting with 10 - 13 year old children. The second day was more fun as you are more aware of what’s coming and can enjoy it more. We were also lucky to explore a different routes and different rapids on a second day. The organization of everything, crew, facilities are just fantastic. It is a well established company and they polished a process to perfection!
This is my second time coming to Owl Rafting!! It was an amazing time both trips! This trip we had a party of 18 women for my friends graduation celebration!!! The staff made us feel so welcome and looked after. We had a blast white water rafting and a relaxing time at the facilities!!! There's so much to do for the whole family, as a anniversary, or just a trip with friends!!!! The food is also delicious and everything is kept clean! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun filled trip that caters to your personalized intensity level!!!
Wow. Just wow. Had such a blast at Owl Rafting this past August long weekend. The location, the service, the people. Holy smokes. We came up as a group of 5, and left as a group of 5. Thank god. We stayed at the campsite. The ride to the raft launch was quite enjoyable. Shoutout Bill the bus driver. We chose the high intensity rafting experience. If you are deciding which one to choose, go high intensity. Once situated, we met our raft guide. Massive shoutout to raft guide Luc, who provided us with an unforgettable day. Not only was he informative and funny, but he was super safe. He taught us the ins and outs of the Ottawa. This guy knows what he is doing. He deserves a raise. Book the trip! You won't regret your trip to Owl.
We just got back from OWL. We did a one night stay with rafting the following day. I am happy to do a full review: Driving: we drove from Barrie/Orillia area it took about 4.5 hours, roads and views were excellent and overall was a great drive. Resort/facilities: overall was all good. Facilities were clean and in good condition. Staff are friendly and answered all questions. I asked to change my booking to one day earlier and the accommodated my request which was really nice. Our cabin and beds were fine. Food: breakfast had eggs, bacon, hash browns (sadly all cold so I didn't eat them) but there was cereal, toast, PB and J and cream cheese as well as some fruit, juice coffee etc.. Lunch on the pontoon after rafting 10/10.. so good! Rafting: we originally booked the medium trip.. but when we arrived we got upgraded to high intensity trip. We were with the medium raft the whole time so I will comment on both. Medium: seemed fun and super safe- bigger group and raft so would likely not tip over. Seemed fun definitely different than high intensity. High intensity: Oh my goodness we had soooo much fun. I am 46 and brought my teen boys to go rafting and from start to finish it was just the best experience. Our guide Hannah was so lovely and made it such a fun interactive experience. It was definitely thrilling and we flipped a few times. I will never forget this experience from floating down the warm Ottawa river to heart race inducing moments on the raft it was THE BEST!

This trip was exactly what my family needed. The staff are amazing, our trip leader Michelle is just a priceless human being. She made the rafting trip a blast and helped me feel better about bringing a young child. We will be returning again...and again, and probably again after that.
The worst campsite I’ve ever been there. Now I am there, the time passed 2 Am and the loud live music is going on If you want to choose a location to relax never choose this one. Oh my god, people are shouting The Racoon just tore up our tent. Where is here?
15 of my friends (age 25-30) and I went on the 6man raft tour. We had the best time possible. Bill was the guide for my boat and he was an amazing person and great leader. The whole crew here works as a team to make sure everyone stays safe. The food at river run rafting is basically simple home cooking. Don't expect too much. The night life here was totally crazy. There was a great amount of like minded people to drink and play games with. If you have a bad time here its probably your own fault. This will be a yearly trip for us most likely.
River run rafting was an amazing experience. The staff there go far beyond expectation in making sure everyone feels safe, and try their best to make it fun. I would HIGHLY recommend this company if you are thinking about rafting. I would like to extend a personal thank you to AJ for being a wonderful guide. Your energetic and positive attitude really made the experience what it was.
incredible. I don't have anything negative to say about this place. The camp ground was clean, staff was amazing, the rafting itself was life-changing for me. The rafting included quite a bit of nice surprises! there was live music playing Saturday night! the food was great. I highly recommend it. I will do it again.
I believe it is the best rafting experience in Ontario. It is safe yet very challenging. We were a group of 12 people and the instructor Brew Chris was amazing. Thanks for bearing with us Chris. I would highly recommend it.
My experience at RiverRun Rafting was absolutely fantastic! Our guide, Bill, was very fun and knew the river really well as did all the other guides who work there as well. I went on the 12-person boat and it was actually a little mild for my liking. The online videos make everything seem more intense for lack of a better word and while there is definitely a thrill, I would suggest you go on the 6-person boat if you can to maximise this.
Very pleased with my experience at River Run. We had a group of 6 in which we participated in both the 12 man and the 6 man rafting trips. The 12 man raft was less intense then the 6 man but still a blast! All of our meals were covered on both rafting days (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 1 dinner). The food tasted really good and they fed you until you were full! River Run staff were amazing. From the servers at breakfast to the maintenance staff to the HIGHLY experienced rafting guides. Essentially, anything that our group was in need of, River Run staff would try to accommodate us with, so we could have the best quality experience possible. The maintenance guy, named T.C., was amazing! He was our go-to guy when we were in need of some sort of accommodation whether it was a BBQ for food or if it was ice for our cooler! Without him our trip wouldn’t have been what it was! T.C. went way above and beyond what was expected of him to give us an amazing experience. ASK FOR T.C.!! In addition, the older lady (can’t remember her name) who ran the pub was also very amazing. She provided us great customer service and amazing conversations. She was very supportive and wanted to do whatever she could to accommodate us. I am also pleased with the amount of respect, courtesy and professionalism that the rafting guides bring. We had Jake as our guide and after talking to him throughout our rafting trip and getting to know some of the other rafting guides we find out that he a few of them (the guides) compete on the Canadian rafting team and competing all over the world at an elite rafting level. This helped us guarantee that we, as well as the other clients on the other rafts were in good hands for our trip. What was very cool was how Jake and all of the other rafting guides were very down to earth and easy going. They brought tones of energy to the trip and really connected with their clients on a personal level. In addition, they make sure that they give you the experience you’re looking for. For example, we wanted our rafting experience to be wild and crazy. We wanted the raft to flip and have our trip as intense as possible so, Jake gave us that experience! On our 6 man raft day, Jake took us through rapids where the raft flipped a couple of times! He also took us over a waterfall which was very cool as it is only something that comes around every 5-10 years. Because of the water levels they rarely get to go over the waterfall so, this was awesome! If your group doesn’t want this experience then don’t worry, they will provide you with something you want! Also, we were able to attend a PAINT PARTY which was put on by at Wilderness Tours (River Run’s sister company). This was a 19+ event that made our river run experience even more exciting. Jake told us about the event and we also found out that there are often events like this that aren’t advertised by River Run. So, if you have a group (19+) and are looking for a fun 19+ event, don’t be afraid to ask the amazing guides and staff! I have nothing negative to say about this trip and I am already looking to plan my next trip back (this summer or next). I would recommend River Run if you want a fun, wild and adventurous experience. River Run provides a very unique experience and their trips are completely different and more exciting than that of Wilderness Tours (speaking from my experience compared to what I saw on the water with the W.T. boats and also through conversation with staff of R.R.). When attending a trip the experience will be different every time as the water levels are always changing and depending on the water levels will determine what rapids they are able to bring you through! Thanks T.C., Jake, Chez, Berto, Drew and the rest of the Rafting guides and staff for making our stay an incredible experience!

Not sure about all the negative reviews — we stayed here with tent camping as a family, and it was great. We did lose hot water in the bathroom/shower, but there was another bathroom farther away with a shower and hot water, so it was all good. Please note that laser tag, water park, and floating park require payment of $35 per day or $70 for 3 days for all extra activities included. Our 12-year-old enjoyed laser tag a lot — spent the whole day there. We loved the floating water park — it's huge and lots of fun. But it has deep water, so be ready for a good swim. They provide life jackets, so no worries. Our little kids enjoyed the baby water slides, and they also have big slides for adults and older kids. They had lifeguards at the baby slides and all over the floating park for safety. They also have decent size, brand new kids playground. Also they have very cool minigolf included with camping
We attended today. Kids paid for themselves and wanted 1 day passes but we're charged for 3 day pass. When I questioned no reimbursement offered. The bathrooms are so dirty, dirty tampons on the floor - someone should be cleaning throughout the day. The family had fun on the inflatable but the obvious over charge / money grab and overall cleanliness of the place left a sour taste. If you do go make sure you verify what they're charging you so you don't get ripped off.
Nice big camping spot, no sewer available okay thats find, so we had to refrain of using water. Thats ok.. but the hot water took 3 days to be repairs and when I finally went the washroom it was very dirty and showers were disgusting, hair balls are on the ground... 🤮 beach has garbage on the ground, it should be rake every day, should also have more toilet for the amount of people.. i liked the mini-putt. The 12 years old kids like the dock and the inflated water park. The slide not has much.. Pizza was great! Fries were good.. I recommend but showers and toilet should be done 3 times a day!
We were just there for the afternoon to play. The lake inflatables/obstacle course were amazing. Everyone wears a life jacket, they have a lot of lifeguards, and all ages can enjoy it. It's worth going out of your way.
Great location and family friendly water park and best camping experience. Staff is super friendly and know what they are doing...great customer service. Rented a campsite and did not rent any cottage or room so can't comment or rate the rooms, sorry.
Unfortunately I had to put 1 star as I could not put 0. My wife and I had plans to go visit friends that are camping here, as we are just up the road camping ourselves. We were going to go visit for a few hours and the company wants $25 per person to visit. Unbelievable MAJOR RIP OFF. I camp up the road and it is $8 a car load for day. Even if you join the events that day. All we wanted to do is see their trailer and have a short visit. What a joke!!!
My daughter goes there every year at the same time (time share) This year they don’t have anything open during the week, only weekends. The kids have nothing to do. They wouldn’t reimburse her or give her a free pass for the day or compensate her for anything. The response was nope not doing that. Not professional. The kids look forward it and the parents pay alot of money to go and to be told that the slides aren’t open during the week until students are out of school. Also stood in line for 35 minutes waiting for hotdog and fries which is very expensive $15. The hotdog bun I had to rip off the bottom bun. It was as hard as the picnic table was. There was a lifeguard that does not watch for the kids going down the slide my daughter had to yell to get his attention to let him know that her two-year-old granddaughter was about to land in the water. He was too busy looking around at everybody else. Those are people’s kids that are in his hands. Very expensive.
We will be there at the end of June staying in the time share that we've had in our family over thirty years. The water slides will not be open and they refuse to adjust your fees. Rip off artist

l golf at Cobden every Ladies Day, and try to golf 18 holes a few times a year. It's one of the best courses in the Ottawa Valley and the staff is top notch. I would highly recommend the course to anyone who is interested in a beautiful, scenic and well maintained golf course - and it isn't easy!!! lol
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this golf club. The course is beautiful and definitely has some challenges. Staff are amazing, super friendly and helpful. The grounds crew have really brought the course back to life and work tirelessly to keep it in great shape! Clubhouse crew are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Thank you to Carrie and her team for always making sure we have a terrific experience at the club!
Beautiful course, BUT the ponds ruined it The golf course itself is absolutely stunning, well maintained greens, scenic views and overall beautiful place to play. Unfortunately, the ponds really took away from the experience. The water looked muddy and grey, there were dead fish floating around, and the smell was unpleasant. it also attracted some bugs, making it hard to enjoy 4, 10 and 18. I'm not sure what happened, but what ever was done to the water needs to be fixed. it really detracts from the otherwise gorgeous setting.
I golf almost daily at the Oaks of Cobden. I am somewhat physically disabled. I can't walk very far The Oaks is definitely the most accessible course I've ever been to. The course is in great shape.
The Oaks of Cobden is a nice course. It's odd that when you book a stay at the resort you can't book golf so when your intent is to stay and play you still can't book a tee time until 7 days before and then if you can't get a teem time, its too late to cancel your booking. They are both owned by Summerhill so that should accommodate tee times at time of booking a stay. Oh, and no discount if you are staying at the resort. Pre Summerhill ownership you were able to book in advance and get a discount.
An good golfing experience. Course is well maintained and offers some unique challenges. Staff are friendly and helpful when needed.
Course is nice but the front staff scammed us. We had a rain check for 9 hole and they made us pay $14 each to use it. The rude manager was trying to explain her math which made absolutely no sense. Never going back there.
Great course sometimes a little dry but overall a fun course to play for a middle range golfer and gang

Even though Horse Country Campground is in it's beginning stages I must say that it is very impressive. We have ridden for over 3.5 hours without crossing over the same trails which is amazing. The trails are varied and have something for beginners to experienced riders to enjoy. The obstacle course is well laid out and provides many different challenges. Walter and Brenda are welcoming hosts who are dedicated to making their campground the place to ride and relax at.
Just back from a lovely weekend at Horse Country Campground, they were the hosts of our Ontario Mountain Trail Horse Society Schooling Show. Big thanks to Walter for going out to find my lost on the trail friends and leading them back with his ATV once it was too dark to see. Above and beyond. Many thanks.
People are so nice Best campground we went to all summer. We had an amazing weekend Absolutely loved this place We even got engaged here We will be back thank you so much
