We visited the Canadian Energy Museum back in April. It was a great experience and there is a tonne to see if you get the chance. The inside and the yard are both packed with amazing treasures of Alberta's past of oil and gas. The museum lost funding recently and is now only open to tours, but if you get the chance it's 100% worth it!
I have never been to this museum before. I came by accident and was glad that I did. Although I did not get a chance to tour the museum, as my infant and wife were asleep in the car, I did a little tour of the place myself. There are many relics to see and is well worth stopping by. I entered the building being greeted by a friendly face, and many things to see. I suggest giving yourself a couple of hours if you plan on touring the facility, as it is larger than it appears. There are many antiques to see outside and photos to take all around. I sure hope that this place remains open for many more years to come. Thank you for the friendly greeting, and I hope to be back for a full tour soon:)
Has changed quite a bit over the years, lots more to see now. One thing that was missing was a list of things made from petroleum.
A great education on energy, a fairytale of info on renewable energy sources. Some of that needs updating. A thorough education on Alberta oil and the geology that makes it happen
See oil industry started from here, and grew to main economic industry for Canada. Historically tell you all aspects of oil technology and understand what it means to this country.
was here years ago.. great place to visit and expand your knowledge in the oil and gas industry as well as our Alberta history!.. . Am I reading this right.. ? only private booking now?not sure if that's a good thing. would like to stop in and go for another look..
A very informative place with lots of displays about the start of the oil boom in Alberta and how it has progressed through the years.
Absolutely amazing place to learn about Alberta's oil history. Kids loved it. Its not expensive, and its never crowded. Great place to do something fun and interesting indoors and outdoors if you like as there's an outdoor exibition as well.

Course is in good shape and fairly challenging. Nice layout. Club house is a great spot for food and drinks after a round and they even make Amaretto Sours! Refreshing on a hot day!
I was speaking with one of their board members today Brent, and I appreciated him asking if I had any comments on the course and what they could possibly do better. I indicated some of the tee boxes could improve by being on flat ground (they are not that bad), he told me they had identified this and working on it. July/2025 We probably play 12 to 15 rounds a year at this course. It is a shorter course but it can be a challenge. We were happy to see the 1st tee box is back in the shape a tee box should be. The staff are very pleasant, I've managed to leave my range finder twice and both times I got it back. We have been held up only once and the course marshall Gary went and dealt with the offending party. They started playing best ball and the round picked up, in fact 4 hrs 10 mins is the longest round we played there this year. I do recommend you stop by the 19th hole. The restaurant serves up daily specials and the food is good. Our server today was Mara who took good care of us.
I was finally able to enjoy a round of golf here and it certainly lived up to the hype. A great course in the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Beautiful layout, lots of great views and all the staff very extremely welcoming and friendly! The food was very good. If you're looking to get out for a nice round or host a tourney, I'd definitely recommend this place!
Went here for the first time, an easy course that is quite short. Unfortunately, most tee boxes are so over grown it’s like hitting from the rough, greens are chewed up and are also not maintained well, played on a Wednesday around 2pm and pace of play was terrible took nearly 3 1/2 hours to complete 9 holes as a twosome. We were playing 18 holes but decided to leave and not bother with trying to get a refund. Kinda pricey for what you get, since pace of play is so slow I wouldn’t recommend spending the extra $20 on a golf cart. Gary the starter is sexist not thinking women can hit from any of the tee boxes and should play from 150 yards away from the hole each time “cause it’s more fun for the ladies”. Warm up areas might as well not be there but I appreciate the effort to try and make something. Overall would not recommend
Fun course in great shape, good greens, friendly staff. It is very tight, need to be able to keep the ball in the fairway. Greens were in good shape. Minus 0.5 stars for bunkers... Unfortunately I ended up in three of them. Two of them could use more sand. Looking forward to another round there soon!
A shorter course in the river valley that plays harder than it appears. Lots of trees and areas to lose balls. The par 3's from the blacks are what can get you here on this course. Ambiance is pretty chill and it isn't stuffy whatsoever. Also, the restaurant is actually really solid. The mushroom burger is awesome. Lots of juniors on this course as well which I love to see and 95% of them are awesome.
Food was only okay. Nothing to brag about. They really need to have someone come and clean the disgusting windows up stairs in the restaurant area. Such a nice view if they could see something.
First time there, after visiting a craft show. Nice place to have afternoon coffee and snacks. Beautiful view of the golf course on the patio. The club house and the dry ribs were good. Will go back there in the summer.

Very nice and relaxing park. Would love to go back again. Nice place to walk your dogs. Nice walking trails 😊
The beach had some positive aspects, such as clear water, a nice view, and the convenience of washrooms. However, the overall experience was brought down by several significant drawbacks. The roads leading to the beach were gravel and extremely bumpy, making it uncomfortable to access the location. Additionally, the presence of snakes added to the discomfort. While the water itself was pleasant with minnows, people often fish in the area, so you have to be cautious about fishing hooks. The challenging journey and potential safety concerns make this beach difficult to fully enjoy.
A very nice place close to Edmonton. It has something for everyone. Boating, access to river, walk way, cycle track and a great Secret park. Area is very well maintained and you can spend a whole day there with family.
Great place with great view fishing also not to bad I will say not the greatest place to fish but if you are looking for parking and easy access not bad
The place has ample parking, accessible entrance, and a small beach to enjoy the river with family and pets. If you have never been before, or do not know the area, the river is clean, you can swim safely.
Nice park. Many people with families and children. Good place to walk, swim or just to enjoy the views. There is plenty parking.
Feb 26, the trails are well groomed for walking with pup or biking … great park … please note, with all the ice over the past months the stairs of fire are slippery and covered with chunks of ice for footing difficulties … going up no problem but go slow coming down .. the river is thawing, time to stay off of it … great park!! Maps, washrooms, garbage cans, picnic tables, benches, even dog poop bags.. & extremely well groomed trails to enjoy
One of the most beautiful and tranquil locations in the Edmonton Region. You can walk the trails; launch a boat, canoe, kayak, etc from the boat launch; splash around in the water; sit on the shore of the river; enjoy a picnic; and so much more! Don't forget to bring your bike and try out the Riverview Bike Park. There are firepits for the public to use as well as picnic areas. This beautiful park is also the beginning of the River Valley Alliance trail which will take you from Devon through Edmonton and finish in Fort Saskatchewan. Many events take place here, check Town of Devon website. Voyageur Park... A little bit of tranquil nature just minutes outside of Edmonton, in the beautiful Town of Devon!

Had our intimate wedding here and it was nothing short of magical. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by stunning snow-covered peaks. The ceremony was held outdoors, surrounded by nature’s winter wonderland. Despite the chilly temperatures, the warmth of love and joy made it feel incredibly cozy. It’s a memorable experience that feels like a fairytale!
I recently visited Quarry Lake Park with my family on a hot summer day and we had an absolute blast! The park is truly a gem, offering a beautiful lake, playgrounds, and plenty of green space to run around. The kids loved swimming in the lake and playing in the water, while I appreciated the shaded areas and picnic tables. My only minor complaint is that the parking fee was a bit steep, but it was well worth it for the wonderful time we had. Overall, Quarry Lake Park is a must-visit destination for families looking to beat the heat and create lasting memories. We can't wait to go back!"
A very accessible lake right off the main highway. It’s a beautiful lake and there’s a short loop around it and anyone can really do from elders, kids and anyone in between. It’s a beautiful lake with a great reflection. There are life jackets if anyone wants to take a dip in the lake. There are picnic areas too if anyone wants to enjoy a snack or lunch.Even though online it says that there is a cliff jump. there really isn’t any place to do a cliff jump, but I came when the water was high, so maybe you could?
Quarry Lake Park is located in a natural area just off of Spray Lakes Road. Beautiful area for a picnic, trail walks and enjoying the lake. Beautiful views of Ha Ling Peak, the Little Sister, Mount Lady MacDonald, and the Rundle Range. Quarry Lake is easily accessible by bike from just about anywhere in Canmore. This is a paid parking lot. There are no dogs allowed around the lake, but they are allowed at the adjacent dog park.
Nature’s beauty is in abundance as you can see from pictures that I’ve taken. It is lovely park to take a stroll around the lake, sit on the bench, go hiking, have a picnic, paddle a boat. The place would have been tranquil had it not been for the boom box of my compatriots.
Quarry Lake dog park is definitely the best park in town. Starting with a big field (unfenced) for running and playing off leash. Then there are multiple on leash trails around, and a short trail connecting you to the dog swimming lake (few minutes from the main field). If you are not local it is paid parking. If you are a runner, there are awesome running trails around this park. There are public washrooms and poop bags at the parking lot.
Hit the spot on a hot day! Lots of picnic tables and grass and shade. Deep, refreshing lake (former quarry). Can’t give em 5 stars… the parking is $10 per hour!! Paid $40 to just enjoy the afternoon there (a public park should not be that inaccessible)(no free or street parking anywhere). Just pit toilets, not well cleaned. Could use an outdoor shower to help rinse off, and even a water fountain or filling station for families and dogs for fresh water.
A beautiful lake with several walking trails nearby, and one that circles the lake. Breathtaking views of the mountains in all directions, benches and picnic tables in several locations. The lake is very deep and has slightly high embankments in various spots, so be careful. There are several life buoys on posts around the lake in case of emergency. The walk from the parking lot is only 5-10 mins, parking cost about $20 for 2 hrs with a pay station that uses ePay.

Always a fun time at Pal's! Karaoke on Saturdays paired with the cheapest drinks you can find. Shout out to Mike the owner who is always a delight and Megan the karaoke host!
We enjoy coming here for a drink, some pool, and karaoke. The staff here are very welcoming. No food that I know of, and I wish the drink selection was better (I believe they only sell canned/bottled drinks, it would be nice to get cocktails if they had a full service bar)
You should put that you close early on Sundays so people don’t waste there time coming there
I would recommend stopping in if you are in Devon looking for a place to grab a beer and a decent basket of wings. The owner is awesome and makes sure you will be well taken care of.
Mike is an awesome bar tender! So accommodating and the atmosphere is chill. Can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten there yet.
It's a nice place if it like singing. You just need to know the right people. Plus they have a heated smoking pit so that's nice
Not really sure what to say. It was a hot day and we were looking for a cool beverage. This place nailed it. Not fancy, but practical.
Love this place!! 5 stars awesome owners !! Friendly staff !! Great place to have a night out in town to have a few drinks and sing 😊
