Just after breakfast on our first day of touring, we always visit the Mildura Information Centre. We have been to this terrific centre many times over the years and it ALWAYS delivers! The friendly staff go above and beyond to provide any information that you might be looking for. For example, I asked about the history of the world's longest bar (formerly at the Working Man's Club) and they found some information and photocopied it for me. On our most recent visit, we met some more wonderful staff - Carmel and Mel. They both assisted us with all of our enquiries :-) The displays here are well organised and spaced out so that you can walk around and appreciate Mildura and the surrounding regions focussing on key themes in a logical order. There are plenty of brochures about attractions, food and accommodation in Mildura and beyond. There are even brochures about other parts of Victoria and other states in Australia. It's also a terrific place to buy postcards and other souvenirs. If you are a new resident in the region, there's also loads of relevant information. There's a cafe next to the centre if you want to stay a bit longer and grab a bite to eat. There's even an area where friendly local donate books they don't want and you can pick up one or two for free. In short, this place has everything! We always enjoy stopping here and staying up-to-date with the latest information. Keep up the great work :-) Here are some photos from recent visits.
We happened to be coming through town while a festival was on in Wentworth and couldn't find any accommodation. The receptionist at the Mildura visitors centre was incredibly helpful and friendly. She looked around for us and even booked us a night at a local caravan park. She walked us through things to do in the area and was the reason we decided to stay an extra night in town when we originally only meant to pass through. The centre is also full of local handmade items and food. It was very interesting to look around and we bought some local jewellery before we left. It's not ofren you see such good visitors centres.
Really nice visitor information centre with great staff. Well laid out next to waves swimming pool and plenty of parking and street parking.
Extremely Disappointed – Appalling Customer Service We called Mildura Paddle Steamers in advance to inform them we had tested positive for COVID-19 and could not attend our booking. We did the right thing by notifying them early and avoiding the risk of exposing others. Despite this, they refused to refund us. Their complete lack of empathy and basic decency is disgraceful. Punishing customers for being responsible is not just bad business — it’s unethical. We will absolutely never be booking with them again and will be warning others to steer clear. We could’ve come and exposed everyone as they told us we could but we had the locals/ tourists interest in heart. Disgusted by this I also want to add, while we were communicating trying to have a humane conversation between the info centre and the paddle steamers both would say it was the others polices and procedures. If you’re going to run a business I suggest you know whose polices and procedures are what.
My family and I made a booking online through the Mildura Tourist and information centre for a paddle steamer cruise with Mildura Paddle steamers. The booking was made 15 hours prior to departure. That night my family and I started to become very ill. We took a Covid test to find the 3 of us were Covid positive. As soon as the office opened at 9am I rang only to be told that as we hadn’t given 24 hours notice we will forfeit our $120 booking fee. I understand policy, however I don’t understand the complete lack of empathy and humanity in refunding our fees. What I do understand is that policy is a guide and that those in charge can make fair and reasonable judgement in regards to unique situations outside of an individuals control. We took a responsible action in not attending the cruise so as not to infect local community members and staff on the cruise. I do not see how our booking of 3 people only hours prior to departure have cost this local business in any way. The Mildura information centre promote ‘Expect Better’ very sad they can not live up to that mantra. We put the Mildura communities best interests first, very disappointed that the local tourism and local paddle steamer business can not acknowledge that through a fair and reasonable refund.
Absolutely bad designed entrance for vans. We struggled to go through the corner entrance. Then went to park in 1 of the 3 long bays 2 taken by short vehicles. We had to move our van in town as if we stayed there the vehicle's in bays opposite didn't have room to back out without hitting our van. Whoever approved this parking had no idea of clearance needed for vans lengths . This is a not good enough for visitors to the information centre access to Mildura. Very disappointing. We did not go back to the information centre. Got our supplies and moved on.
Really helpful staff, a few nice things for sale as well. Lots of brochures to look through about what's on offer and where to go.
Extremely well set out information on local places of interest as well as other areas to visit. Helpful staff

Great watching paddle steamers go through the lock! Very interesting! Go across the lock onto Lock Island and walk around for lots of bird life.
The lock let's boats through on the 1/2 hour so you can watch the operation without too much wait. The island has a good walk around to the weir and there is quite a lot of bird life to be seen.
This place is great to get out and walk around. Well signed posted walking trails with new paths. You could spend an afternoon or morning watching the boats go through the lock. Imformative signage present too allowing you to have a good idea about the whole Murry water scheme.
What a great experience with a steam powered paddle boat (the Melbourne) to boot. It is quite an old world feeling to firstly be lowered 3.5 metres to the actual river height then on return being raised back up 3.5 metres. This raising movement took all of 4 minutes and without the use of any pumps. Brilliant!
Just a quick fish with the man at one of his secret/not so secret spots. Watch out for the logs. Nice place to have a go
Cool experience. You can experience it on the river bank (free) or hop on a paddle steamer (AUD 45). Definitely a must do attraction in Mildura
River cruise on P S Melbourne. A steam driven paddle steamer. The cruise was 2 hours long and included going through Lock 11 in both directions. Highly recommend.
Well worth taking the walk or ride along the easy 5km river trail with its many interesting features. The lock is impressive, its size and the amount of water it holds back. The work that went into building this and the engineering behind it is impressive. Alongside the lock is a flood marker board, I was blown away with flood heights with 1870 being a big one. Having seen many locks in the UK I would have loved to watch a paddle boat go through this one.

A beautiful stately home in the heart of Mildura, next to the arts centre. A stunning home. Kept in original 1921 condition. On street parking. Disabled park near front door of gallery. Wheelchair access to ground floor only, but the gallery and theatre has lift access. Great coffee shop and public space to catch up with friends, and chat 5/5 stars
Excellent, nice cafe ☕️,tasty food & friendly staff, lots of local history, historic house 🏠,a short film to watch , donation entry 🚻available, sculpture in the Gardens, local artist display, enjoy your visit 👍
I recently attended the "Dylan Wright in Concert Fundraiser" at the Mildura Arts Centre on Saturday, July 5, 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience. The event, supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, showcased the remarkable talents of Dylan Wright, the 2024 Australian Idol winner, whose blend of soulful country and soft pop captivated the audience. Opening the evening was Hazel Symonds, a standout contestant from this year's Australian Idol, whose powerful voice set the stage with energy and emotion. The Mildura Arts Centre provided the perfect venue for this inspiring night of music.
This was such a wonderful museum. From walking up to the museum itself, it’s beautifully well kept flora and public displays of art. We were able to walk around for quite some time and the front desk receptionist were very helpful. The museum was broken up into the old house. And also the art section as well. Everything was very stunning and it was lovely to have seen all the aboriginal pieces.
Been here for a concert and a comedy show, you can buy limited drinks from the bar and take them to your seat, Amazing atmosphere and the sound quality is outstanding, ushers are beyond helpful and treat you respectfully. A beautiful historic place with many charms
Great place to visit. The Rio Vista house is a wonderful surprise and free to visit. The gallery at MAC offers free viewings of local artists as well. The only unfortunate thing is that you are not allowed to take photos there-hence the 4 ⭐️. A must visit for anyone and particularly those who enjoy history.
A delightful art precinct, free entry with local artists and school art work on display. The magnificent home of the Chaffeys provided a wonderful insight into the establishment and hardships of a pioneering family who founded Mildura. The family history was touched by tragedy, but thankfully they survived. Well done to the Shire for maintaining history.
Rio Vista is an unexpected gem in Mildura that has a joint building with an exhibition and theatre. The old building showcases the furniture and way of living of that era. I specifically liked the wallpapers, it is rare to have wallpapers in any building in Australia. They have a coffee shop and I strongly recommend the freshly baked waffles with syrup and ice cream 🍦!

Tasting paddle was a great way to test the beers here. Flavour descriptions (tasting notes) are spot on! Had the Stout instead of the Sour. The Stout ended up being my favourite. The beef burger and chips were VERY good! Beef patty was juicy and flavourfull. Good balance and melty cheese 😋 The chips were thick cut, crisp outside and soft on the inside with a perfect amount of salt 👌
3.5 🌟 The brewery is a great pub. Loved the tasting paddle. I found the strong beer a little heavy the rest were amazing. We had garlic bread that was quite average to my standards had no taste what so ever I like fresh garlic butter with checks of garlic so you taste it! The karaage chicken was amazing, tasty hot and full of flavor. We shared a chicken pizza it was spicy and it was a great pizza base.
Great food and drink at a reasonable price. The old Astor Theatre has been tastefully refurbished in the heart of Mildura. The Art Deco style interior has a new generation of admirers with this stylish brewery. We ate here on a relatively quiet Sunday night. The food was good and there was plenty of it. An enjoyable casual meal with no fuss. Here are some photos...
Decent sized pub with a brewery. They have 6 beers that they can serve on a tasting paddle ($20) or a full bar if you want something else. There’s a few seats on the street outside or lots of spaces inside for groups. The beer tanks are all visible so it’s interesting to look in and see their production. The beers are fine but I wouldn’t go out of my way for most of them. The pale ale and stout were my highlights.
Great experience!! While visiting Mildura just stopped in here after going on the Melbourne paddle steamer, just a small walk away. Stopped in on a cold day, had a jug of the mid strength and it was really yummy and a really good mid had good flavor one of of the better ones I have had. Also had some food which was really great, my burger was hot and packed with flavo, the meat tasted like it had some sausage meat mixed in, it was really really good. My partner had a chicken burger which she said was also very well done. When I go back to Midura I will definitely stop in again.
This place has such a great vibe—spacious, welcoming, and full of character. The staff were super friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. And let’s talk about the food portions—huge! You definitely won’t leave hungry. One of the highlights? Their $20 beer flights. It’s a fantastic way to sample a range of their craft brews without breaking the bank. If you're in Mildura, this spot is an absolute must. Great food, great beer, and even better people. Cheers to that! 🍺
Really enjoyed the beers and had a good experience here. The seafood pasta was VERY spicy, tasted a lot like shin ramyun to me.
A pleasant arvo with a tasting paddle ($24), a cocktail and a few entrees to eat. Nice place for a visit and the food was good. Beers weren’t my husbands favourite but they went down anyway. I think the beer flavours highlight the taste of the region. More fruity & citrus. I liked the Pale Ale but I’m not a beer drinker. Husband liked the dark ale which we’re having trouble identifying now. Information provided with the paddle didn’t seem to correspond well. We enjoyed the visit.

Great place to take the family. The course is nice and tidy. Kids loved it. Not cheap, but well worth it. The arcade area is also great for a kids treat. Highly recommend.
It's hard to find a really good mini-golf circuit - and Putt Putt isn't one. On one hand it is fun but on the other hand it needs a fair bit of maintenance - many of the novelty holes have parts missing or not working. Disappointingly, it wouldn't be hard to fix them up - so why don't they?
Fun for the kids, great selection of arcades but desperately needs a complete overhaul.. not much has changed in 20 years.. golf course is the same
Have been here 3 times this year and I’ve noticed the workers customer service skills are below horrible. Absolute cow of a worker. not a smile or word back when “serving” made us wait a good 10 minutes while slowly serving others, wasn’t until I said we were waiting first he served us. not a smile or sorry came from him. this is a children friendly environment, maybe have someone who is uplifting and respectful working. rolling eyes and no manners does not make this place inviting at all.
We have been coming to Mildura since 1990 and Putt Putt has not changed at all apart from removing the train and the V8 supercar simulators, it could do with a good facelift and some staff personality the guy that opens up in the morning is a real grump no smile no good morning back when you say good morning to him. We have a daughter with a disability and she loves saying hi to people but she gets no reply. It’s not hard to be nice to people. Smile it’s free.
A great place to go to spend some time with the kids. Mini golf, dodgem cars, simulators and heaps of the common arcade style games. Can do kids parties. Not very good to get to the toilet if you have accessibility concerns.
The guy working there has zero personality. Rude and clearly didn't want to be there. Didn't speak a word, just lots of mumbling and groning. The course is old and needs many repairs. Not worth the money, very disappointed.
Had a great game, excellent course. Nice weather, fairly busy

Even though we didn’t have a booking and had to wait over 30 minutes for our lunch, Ethan kept us informed throughout, updating us on wait times, which we really appreciated. We understand that hospitality can be challenging, especially with functions and events happening at the restaurant. Despite the wait, we received great service and enjoyed a delicious meal made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Over at the cellar door, Leanne provided an excellent wine tasting experience, explaining the wines in detail and making our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we’ll definitely be back!
Outstanding location which makes you wonder why there not more like that on the Murray. Beautiful terrasse overlooking the river and we were blessed with talented live music. Food is in the bistro style range and well executed with great flavour. The local vermentino complimented it very well. But it is really the whole package that works here adding the relaxed surroundings with the river and views. Food 4 stars, full package 5 stars.
My wife and I dined here for a Saturday lunch with her mother to celebrate her 86th birthday. I had long wanted to dine here and it didn’t disappoint. Sensational location right on the Murray River. Houseboats can moor here to dine, do wine tasting or relax with a coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating. The food was first class. The service was excellent. And their wines were sensational!! I highly recommend dining here and sampling their wonderful wines!
TLDR: served raw chicken My group of four dined at Trentham restaurant on Saturday, 16 Aug 2025, for a 1:50 pm booking on the veranda. We ordered chicken involtini, salt and pepper squid, meatballs, and moroccan lamb. Unfortunately, after we had already eaten most of the chicken involtini, we opened a piece of one and realised it was visibly raw and undercooked. We then opened up another almost finished piece and realised it too was also raw and undercooked. Regrettably, we didn’t get a clear close up photo of the raw chicken in the blur of the moment, but it is retrospectively visible in our earlier photos. We notified waitstaff, who saw the undercooked chicken and took the dish back to the kitchen, telling us they would remake it. However, they returned with only one properly cooked involtini (just a third of the original dish) which confused and disappointed us. When we came up to pay, our main concern was making sure the incident was formally reported. The manager explained that the involtini are pre-cooked and reheated, and insisted it must have been just one chicken that was raw, and hence they only remade one of them (which is besides the point). They showed trivial concern that we all had unknowingly eaten raw chicken. While we quietly felt the replacement was inadequate compensation, our main focus was on encouraging them to lodge an incident report for the safety of future patrons. We were disappointed by the manager’s attitude- she seemed reluctant, insincerely apologetic, and at times passive aggressive. She eventually offered a refund for the involtini dish, which she gave with a frustrated tone. We considered this refund to be the bare minimum. No further gesture or compensation was made, besides telling us to call them if he had any further concerns. What was most concerning wasn’t the raw chicken, but the dismissive response from the manager. Serving undercooked chicken should be treated with far more seriousness and accountability.
The Murray River forms a natural boundary between New South Wales and Victoria for more than 1800 kilometres. It plays a strong role on both sides of its south bank border, supplying water for irrigation, agriculture and tourism. As with most imaginary lines we mark onto maps, people in border towns like Mildura operate across them, hampered only by bureaucracy. This preamble is a way to explain you’ll find the Mildura winery, Trentham Estate, on the NSW side of the Murray River. While most visitors take the 15 kilometre drive over the bridge from town, some arrive by houseboat, speedboat, and more annoying jet skis. This makes the river bank frontage an interesting place to knock back a few with a cheese board after you’ve visited the cellar door. The cellar door has a list of 21 wines. Not all of them are made from grapes grown in the region. They’re all table wines, with a bottle price between $16–28. To my palate, the best of them was the 2024 Adelaide Hills Chardonnay ($28) but I wasn’t as enamoured as it warmed up. At 36 degrees Celsius it felt too hot to eat their restaurant food, so we opted for the Trentham plate ($45) and Trentham dukkah ($14) with ciabatta, caramelised balsamic and olive oil. The dukkah was too light on flavour for me. The antipasto plate had nice charcuterie and dried fruits appropriate to the region. The small wedge of very mild Camembert didn’t quite scratch my itch for wine and cheese. They use a buzzer system so you can claim your sloping shady perch on the lawn outside, but it took so long, we went inside before it chimed to check whether we’d been forgotten. While I didn’t take home any wine, I did like the opportunity to sit beside the lifeblood of Mildura for a picnic lunch.
You must try Trentham Estate wines, fortified, olive oil and their amazing balsamic vinegar. We were very fortunate to visit the Estate this past April when traveling from interstate to Mildura. We arrived at Trentham via All Seasons Houseboat. Amazing way to travel to a Cellar Door. We enjoyed the cellar door experience. Tasted the sensational wines produced by Trentham, their olive oil and their balsamic. Your staff member was very friendly, knowledgeable, kind and a very lovely person who made our visit extra special. Their Estate grown shiraz 2023 is a must try and must buy. Their Cellar Reserve Verdejo 2024 is a sensational white. If you’re into balsamic, you have to try Trentham’s Balsamic. It is extremely flavoursome with beautiful notes of honey like sweetness. Stunning! We have just finished our wines we purchased when we visited the Cellar door, so we have joined the wine club to keep on enjoying Trentham Estate wines back home interstate. Their cafe style food was delicious (didn’t get to do the fine dining this time) and their grounds are spectacular being positioned right on the Murray River. Another must try is the Murray River Pink Salt which we purchased in the Trentham Estate Cellar door. It’s a must buy, I’ve never tasted a better salt!! Thank you Trentham Estate for what you do. We will look forward to enjoying your wines from your wine club on a regular basis at home interstate. Many thanks.
My husband and I experienced an extremely pleasant afternoon at Trentham Estate Winery. The food, wine and relaxing location were all excellent. Sincerely wish to thank Megan, her beautiful family and staff for their flawless hospitality. Looking forward to returning again in the near future.
Firstly beautiful location/setting. We did some wine tasting before lunch and Karl was extremely informative and helpful. Now to the food and service. Food average. I had the Seafood Linguine. Pasta was over cooked and the tomatoe sauce lacked seasoning. Reasonable amount of seafood but nothing to get excited about. My partner had the Lamb shoulder which was nice, meat was tender, but not a dish if you are hungry as the portion was small. The best thing of lunch was the dessert Panna Cotta. Service by the kitchen was very slow as we waited 40 minutes for our food and we were the first customers there on this particular Thursday. Wait staff were attentive and friendly.

What a beautiful gallery with amazing art work from local artists. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Thank you.
The gallery is vibrant and bright. The displays change with the seasons so there is a sense of freshness about the art on show. A lot of really good work here, depicting local inspirations in landscapes and line drawings. Really enjoyed the experience.
Did a painting workshop for beginners over 4 nights for $100, happy with the end product, got my first ever painting. Lovely, helpful teachers, learnt a lot, most enjoyable.
Free admission, credit card facilities in lovely location this living community hub is home to many examples of locally curated and created paintings. Very attractive pricing on some wonderful pieces in postcard, bookmark, print and painted mediums. Drop in meet artist and share a yarn or two.
I really liked the range of art available to see and to acquire. One of the local artists was available to talk to and to give an brief snapsis re some of the artists. Costs were reasonable, choices varied and I purchased a small piece which is currently sitting right in front of me as I write.

Fabulous art, beautiful gift options and highly expert staff. The residency facilities for artists are beautifully appointed, and every effort is made to welcome and support both visiting artists and locals. An art facility in a class of its own. A national gem. A must visit when in Mildura!
Wow! Wasn't expecting this little gem. This little gallery can hold its head up high as one of the best little private galleries in Australia. I was advised to go there and was expecting the usual country Australiana or twist on it. Instead was impressed by their small collection of up-and-coming and world class art. The curator there on the day we visited had an impressive depth of knowledge of Australian contemporary art. Not sure how Luke reviewed this as 3 stars – could be that he just randomly selects places to review and doesn't care because at the time of this review he had 1,764 reviews. Go figure? Given that most of his reviews have been about places in Thomastown and Epping, I'm guessing he was out of his comfort zone. Hate to think how he'd rate the Centre Georges Pompidou or the Tate. My guess is 3 stars.
Met artist, partner bought 2 paintings, wonderful experience. Rob Watson very knowledgeable and personable.
Lovely people and it is a pity they aren't continuing as a business for much longer.
Wonderful staff and a great variety of local artists
Well worth the effort to stop and see current up and coming artists as well as established artists

Great family fun, friendly staff. My 7yo had a small kart on her own, did well for a 1st timer. My 4yo lad and i had a double kart, he loved it. Cost $22 for 10 mins, each kart (reasonable).
Took grandson for a visit to go kart track while passing through Mildura. It was great, young chap at counter (and on track duty) did a great job looking after everyone and everything rates seemed reasonable, track and carts seem well maintained. Highly recommend a visit. Also has roller blading rink attached.
Coming from a place that doesn't have these sorts of activities the people of Mildura are fortunate. Good little track, I was the only one there at the time so I had it all to myself. Really enjoyed it. Wish I lived closer by so I could do it more often 👍☝️
Quick friendly service, great challenging track and karts well maintained. Thankyou my child loved it!
Kids, teenagers, had an absolute ball, loved it and wanted to go again, very helpful staff. Going back as soon as we can.
Fun small karting track. Prices are okay. Just a bit small for larger groups. I will be back to beat that track record!
Accomidation our family groups of 11 adults and 2 juniors with ease. We all had a ball
Drove from Renmark to go Karting today and was very disappointed to find this place closed after website and Facebook Page said it was open. talked to owner on phone who had no interest in opening for us,

A small family winery, that was very inviting to enter. They use the minimum preservative to ensure their wines don't spoil and also to avoid or minimally affect those who may react to larger quantities of preservative. To my personal taste, their white wines are superior to their red wines, however I am experienced enough to know that this does not make them bad wines, just wines that appeal to different people than me! The owner was serving at the cellar door, he was knowledgeable about his wines, friendly and personable.
When in Mildura, we enjoy visiting this small family winery. It is always great to speak with Larry and learn about the wine varieties they are currently producing. We particularly enjoyed their Sauvignon Blanc and the Old Block Shiraz. I also REALLY like their Vecchioni Old Tawny. To keep me going for a while I bought three bottles :-) Thanks for running such an interesting and welcoming winery! Looking forward to visiting again soon. Here are some photos from our recent visit.
Stopped in and had a wine sampling, very nice. Bought some bottles and olives to take home with us. Cute friendly dog greeted us. Great friendly service. Unable to do platters to use with wine. Overall a lovely place to shop in. 🙂
Small family owned and managed winery. Awesome range of wines especially the peach prosecco and muscat. Great prices too. Lots of home made produce on offer too.
What a wonderful family run winery. We love the Peach Moscato, Pinot Grigio and Peach Perseco. We also received some freshly picked figs, they were delicious and a welcomed surprise. Thank you, Oak Valley Estate, we will definitely be back.
Best fig jam in world; you can tell home produce is made with love. Wines for all seasons and foods. My fav the Shiraz, peach moscato on lots of ice and the new Bellini hit the NYD BBQ spot. Bonus, bloody nice people. Add to your mildura visit.
Only been here twice, but each time we've really enjoyed the beautiful Wines, banter and your generosity, Larry. I wish you weren't so far away... we'd visit more often. Hope to visit again, sooner. James and Kim
The cellar door is easily accessible. The host is very helpful and hospitable.

This is a truly wonderful park and an ideal rest stop on a long journey from Adelaide to Canberra. With plenty of seating available and well-maintained public restrooms, it offers both comfort and convenience for travellers. In the summer months, it becomes an especially delightful spot, with a water play area perfect for children to cool off and enjoy. We’ve paused here for lunch on two separate occasions, and each visit has been a pleasant experience—a peaceful, family-friendly setting that makes the road trip feel just a little bit easier. I would recommend that the local council consider enforcing a no-dogs policy. Allowing animals in these spaces could compromise the cleanliness and safety of both the children's play environment and the eating areas, potentially diminishing the experience for all visitors.
Great little play area, my daughter had a great time! Some shade over the bigger area would be nice on the hotter days, but otherwise very nice.
Beautiful place and such friendly locals. The absolute best take away food & coffee place is YoYo Joe's, 264 Etiwanda Avenue, Mildura. The owner is a gem and a loyal Tigers supporter!
“An inviting oasis for all ages, where lush greenery meets refreshing water play – the perfect spot for outdoor fun and relaxation!”
An amazing outdoor and free water play park. Great for younger children, with small waterfalls, water jets and wheels for kids to play with. Great for when it's very hot, and there's a few shaded areas within. Dogs are not allowed in the water, but there's a nearby park which is worthwhile. Quite a lot of wildlife in the area too and some great views. Great for cooling down in the evening and exploring the area.
As a local this is a fantastic place to take your little family lil ones , couples, babies, toddlers and your teens, hell even us oldies get in it to cool down. Lots of shade, just a walk across the Rd to the great Murray River. I fully recommend Mildura Water Park

Small and simple water park. Great for young kids during a hot day to have a soak and cool off. Some shade around for a warm day to have a picnic and BBQ.

Very nice spot right on the river. Toilet plenty of room for everyone. Fishing relaxing little camp fire what else do you need
Top spot quiet peaceful
Not a bad place for a short stay or overnight. A very well used area being close to town. Bonus is it's on the mighty Murray.
Great spot with relativly easy access to the river. Lots of great spots to sit by the river, walk dogs, fish etc. Access tracks can be a bit choppy after wet weather. Very popular in peak times, be prepared to share tent pegs with your neighbours. A lot of people either dumping rubbish or leaving rubbish (especially in urried toilet paper) behind after camping have applied the place over the last few years. There's also been quite a bit of illegal firewood removal, so firewood is scarce.
Based on the day use area: Loved the trees and the quiet 😀 Wheel chair/mobility accessibility is excellent. See photographs. The toilets were clean and well maintained. Drop toilets. The paths are good flat and open mostly. It’s also possible to feel like you’re having a ‘bushwalk from a vehicle’ Parks Victoria need to take better care of the areas adjacent to the river. I observed styrofoam bean bag balls for hundreds of metres of tracks. The boat ramp is great and in good condition. I collected an extensive amount of rubbish. The area is known to be a place for swimming. I can see why. It’s got beautiful large river red gums. The trails were difficult to navigate. There were more tracks then sited on the map. That made it confusing. There were educational stops for those that can read. The signs are in English. I would love to see more Aboriginal information about the site. What it is called in the mob of the area. Information like that. The interior of the area has been regenerated and is doing great. Would love to see Parks Victoria not relying on volunteers to do the weed/rubbish management.
Merbein Common was a really relaxing campground. My husband and I camped in our camper trailer for 5 nights in July. The weather was mild. Make sure you bring your own wood for camp fire as there's nothing much on the ground. We had a storm while there. It made the tracks in and out virtually impassable. Don't even think about it in a 2wd. Close to both Merbein and Mildura for topping up supplies. There is a clean drop loo in the visitor day area. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Great for summer as it's quite shady. Would definitely come back again... But keep an eye on the weather radar.
A lovely peaceful free camp site. You may need a 4x4 to get to some spots here but well worth it. Careful not to park under large old trees unless you want a branch invasion.
Wow an amazing free camp. I camped further along, away from every one . Stayed 8 months lol great parks guys would cheack on me . Police dropped in afew times to see i was ok. Great fishing 1 cod a week baged out on big yella belly all the time. I you stay please give Merbin town your money a lot of closed shops. Great bakery yum great takaway shops clean toilets in main road. 1$ washing m/c and 1$ dryers. Library and mechanics petrol. I loved the place and people. The caravan park is very tired but cheap gas for bottle and $ 5 shower. Roadside oranges and mandarins i lived on them . One thing summer very very hot lots of snakes and goannas but loved every day. 3 days rain for winter i was brown as a berry for winter !!!

Awesome. Great to see and be informed of the history of the base. Recommended visiting.
Very small museam. Mostly photos of things or models not many actual displays. No aircraft or vehicles here. It's maybe a 5 minute visit. at most 15 if you read everything.
Greatplace to know about back and time of some wars
I know these Museums cannot exist without dedicated volunteers, but we were disappointed to go there yesterday (Sunday 10:30 26th July) to find a sign on the door that says permanently closed during the pandemic. An up date on the website is all that's needed. Hopefully we will get to see it one day, however the website is very good! Cheers Gary Ps I need to clarify that. The drop down info on google maps still has the Museum open on certain days. Which is what I relied on. The website itself, has the closed notice.
Amazing piece of history
A step back in time into what it was like during WWII. The RAAF huts are as they were in the 1940's. You may even find records of a past relation that was stationed here. We did. An ex PM was stationed and learned to fly here. Please make sure that you allocate at least 2 hours to appreciate what is on display. To the volunteers, thank you for assisting to retain this history.
Great place hea ps of history the displays in this building were well presented and the volunteers were very friendly and helpful .😁 They have toilets available here as well.
They don't update their Google open time, very annoyed! We drive all the way here twice and they don't open.

Great place to hangout with the kids, drinking taps can be found in numerous places and there is plenty of shade for those hot days. You can even grab some food and drink with an on-site cafe located nearby.
This is a large outdoor stage that is often utilised for entertainment events. There is a small play area near by as well as Bobby and Me, a small shipping container café. The large grassed area is good for playing with your children and letting them run and play. All this is right on the Murray River. There are also public amenities that are maintained regularly during the day.
Great place to relax, take you're kids. There's plenty of grass and space to play. Clean amenities.
Nice amount of grass for those who want to do either sport or picnic and good when entertainment is on
Went there for the New years eve fireworks 2022. Had a great time
Lots of space good for biking and playing football
Good for Family and kids
No parking for disable long way to walk
