Hard hike, but worth it for the views. Visited for sunset. Took about 35mins to climb, the whole walk is stairs. Not for the faint of heart!
Starts with small steps spaced out, then gradually becomes longer flights of rocky staircases. Wasnt too hard, we took about 30-40min to reach the top (an estimate, we didn’t time ourselves). It was wide enough for people to go both directions and we saw heaps of young kids there with families. The view is amazing on top and there is plenty of space to have a seat to enjoy your food and drink while enjoying the winter sun. Loved this one, it was worth the effort!
Mount Ngungun is one of the most rewarding trails in the Glass House Mountains. The walk is short but offers a good workout with a mix of rocky steps and shaded forest sections. The summit view is breathtaking — you can see Mount Tibrogargan, Mount Coonowrin, and the whole Sunshine Coast hinterland. It’s perfect for sunrise or sunset hikes, and the path is well-maintained with clear signage. Make sure to wear proper shoes and bring water, as it can get hot during the day. Highly recommend for both beginners and experienced hikers looking for a quick but memorable adventure! 🌄🥾
I hiked up this from the car park. Not too hard! It’s almost like pathways and stairs. The view at sunset is incredible! Like a scene from the 🦁 Lion king!
We visited the glasshouse mountains. It was a lovely day with lots to see and do. The walk is a good hike with plenty of stairs. Go early before it gets too hot
A hike worth the efforts, Spectacular views at the top with an ethereal effect on senses. Highly recommended for Hikers
Easy and beautiful hike. 2 hours return easy estimate even for little legs. Awesome venues though a bit scary at the peak so keep an eye on the littles.
Loving walking this track. Its a quick easy one. If you are fit can be up there in under 20mins view is awesome and back down in 15.

It was such a beautiful place! It was really open, and you could see the whole area — the sun looked amazing from anywhere! Watching it from the lookout point was definitely the best spot! There were very few people, only about three other groups besides me. On the way down the mountain, there was mist over the farms, and it looked so beautiful. The route from the mountain to the city really made me feel the vastness of Australia.
Very easy to access by car with plenty of parking available. Offers stunning views and a short walking trail through a peaceful little forest. The lookout tower is unique and well maintained—a perfect quick stop to relax and enjoy nature!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely stunning! The Glass House Mountains Lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views that are worth every moment. The scenery is picture-perfect, with clear views of the unique mountain peaks and surrounding landscapes. The area is well maintained, easy to access, and has a peaceful atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for relaxing, taking photos, or simply soaking in nature’s beauty. A must-visit if you’re in the region!
Beautiful place - very tranquil and relaxing. Information posts around the place to explain the history behind it. Short walking track, Toilets onsite, parking can get busy. Road in is easy, good access, suitable for all car types.
A very enjoyable lookout with lots of info on all the mountains you can see. Plus if you're able bodied there's a good walking track I'm told by other visitors. Have lived in Qld for over 40 years and this was my first time here.
Great lookout with wonderful views over the mountains. Definitely seems to be the cc easiest and best way to get to a great view especially for people for whom longer or steeper walks may be challenging
A must visit! Popped up to the lookout spot en route to Sunshine Coast and would highly recommend. Very beautiful scenery. If we had more time we would have completed the walk. Lots of information available to learn about the historical significance of the mountain range and area.
Spectacular vistas everywhere! I climbed up Mount NgunNgun, which was very easy compared to Mount Coolum, and checked out the amazing views of the other Glasshouse Mountains. Then I drove to Glasshouse Mountains scenic area and took photos. Lastly, I walked around Mount Tibrorgargan. A pleasant morning with some exercise thrown in.

Lovely cafe near the mountains and very reasonably priced ($46.76 for 2 coffees and 2 mains). At around 9:30am on a Saturday it wasn’t busy at all and we got a nice table with a pretty view. Both coffees were good and couldn’t fault the waffles and the eggs benedict. Portion sizes might be a bit small if looking for a heavy breakfast, but this worked for us. Would definitely visit again!
This is an absolute gem of a spot. The staff are really friendly & fun, the view is spectacular & the food is delicious. Serving sizes are generous, ample parking & a great spot to relax over a lazy morning tea or lunch.
Lovely views out over the Glass House Mountains, delicious food and super friendly service. Well worth a drive after lunch to the Glass House Mountains Lookup, just a few minutes drive past the cafe.
Gorgeous views over the glasshouse mountains, breakfast was delicious and well priced and the staff were friendly. Definitely worth a visit. We went on a Friday morning when it had just opened and it was so quite, but I’d recommend reserving a table as i imagine it could get busy at peak times
Gorgeous view.. 😍 Scrambled eggs $14.50, on the small size, 1 piece of toast. Lovely service from the young guy. Was advised some of the cabinet cakes were not fresh today..so make sure you check. Coffee was ok
I know the glasshouse mountains were formed over millions of years. Did not expect service at the lookout Cafe to try and match that. Mixed up orders, staff were moving at the rate of the continental drift. Pin coco= pineapple coconut cake. Don't ask. You will get glared at. It was lovely. People waiting half an hour to get coffee at table beside us. Coffee orders forgotten about. If want coffee, dont order it, will get offered someone else's. Nice view though
Ordered the wrong hot chocolate but they were generous to replace without additional charge. Latte was strong and good. Kangaroos in the background. A great place to recharge after coming down from the mountains.
I can absolutely recommend this place! The views are spectacular, the ladies working there were incredibly lovely, and the food was fantastic. A wonderful spot all around — I’d definitely come back!

A very worthwhile stop and please make an appointment. Dail and Mark operate this sanctuary from their homes, with help from local volunteers. Most of the parrots are rescues and with lots of hard work has been re-homed or board here until rehabilitated. Most have been domestic pets so cannot be put back into the wild. Bird feeding (and food) is included in the experience and what a wonderful way to get up close and personal with these beauties. Despite the many, many, many questions we had, Dail and Mark were very forthcoming in sharing their parrot knowledge with us. Thank you!!! The $25 pp entry fee contributes to housing, feeding and vet bills. The walk through the sanctuary on a very hot day was still pleasant due to the water setup in the bird cages. Not suitable for wheel chair access due to narrow spaces and steps. Birds were very curious and best entertainment award goes to Whopper the house parrot. Such a big personality and chatter box for a little bird. 🦜
Wonderful time had at Parrots in Paradise:-) Volunteers are sooo passionate and love sharing stories and fun facts about all their resident birds. Hot tip: we also booked the lunch as an extra... yummmmo! Best sandwiches ever (so fresh), fruit was really flavoursome and then a scrumptious cake..and then.. desert! Make sure to watch the video sharing just how clever these birds are.. giggles and delight guaranteed! Need to book ahead? Yes.
I visited Parrots in Paradise with my family. We had a lovely high tea with grandmas home made scones to start the day, as we watched an amazing video about the founders original parrots Princess with the cute little frocks and the others doing tricks. Then followed by a tour of the sanctuary by one of the volunteers. We then went into an enclosure for some one on one time to feed and handle the birds. What a truly wonderful place. Definitely worth going. 🥰 🦜
Lovely place and fantastic volunteers and owner. They really do love the parrots there. They care for many parrots who can no longer be cared for by their previous owners and rely on donations for the vet bills. So every little helps. I went with my daughter but obviously parrots can be noisy so if any one is noise sensitive like my son I wouldn’t recommend it for them. We spent quite a few hours there feeding the parrots and hearing their background stories. The size of the enclosures are great and plenty of space for them to fly around. Highly recommend
What a wonderful gem. The volunteer team were so welcoming and helpful and knowledgeable. They were so appreciative of our visit. The Devonshire Tea is a must add on, the tastiest scones I think I have ever had. A super cool movie of the birds performing while the kids were devouring scones. And then a once in a life time experience feeding birds and having them land on you. Great for all ages. Will come again when we pass through again.
It's a great place to spend ours with your family.. I didn't know that I would have so much fun there. Parrot were amazing and so friendly. My little kids were so amazed that we end up booking for the Alexander's parrot. Can't wait to get our new family member 😄☺️☺️☺️☺️. The ladies over there were a sweetheart 💗 . They are doing such an amazing job ☺️😊 love love love 😍😍😍😍😍
What a great place. My 12 year old son and I were driving on our way to visit another bird aviary not far from here and I just took a random turn to visit the nearby mountain that a road sign was pointing to. To our surprise we randomly stumbled into Parrots In Paradise and called them to make a booking. My son loved it. He is right into birds and he got so much from this visit. I personally am not a bird lover at all but even I enjoyed the visit. At least I came out of there without any "presents" on my head - lol. Our road trip was specifically to see bird attractions and especially Macaws so this random find to this place suited our exact plans. How lucky. Thank you.
A very good learning experience. The managments and volunteers are caring and lovely people. Beautiful birds. ❤️

Beautiful food, very appealing menu with many 12 hours smoked options like ribs and chicken breast. Great food presebtation and taste but for my experience, the best was the customer service. The main front of house person in the wait staff, went above and beyond to assist and was very polite, welcoming and friendly. Thank you for a great experience.
Service was good, staff greet customers nicely. It’s busy on public holiday there’s no surcharge and food out pretty quick. My brisket was nice just my partners steak ordered medium but it cooked a bit too long and it went dry unfortunately
"GLASSHOUSE TAVERN HAS THE MOST INTERESTING LOCATION IN THE ENTIRE GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAIN RANGE. THE FOOD IS FABULOUS AND THE SERVICE IS SENSATIONAL. BUT NO OTHER SPACE, BEATS THEIR LOCATION. NEXT TIME YOU ARE VISITING THIS BEAUTIFUL AREA, MAKE CERTAIN TO DROP IN AND GET A DELICIOUS MEAL WITH YOUR FAVOURITE BEER OR WINE. THIS PLACE IS DIVINE. THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND WELL INFORMED AND THERE IS PLENTY OF PARKING, SO THAT IS NEVER AN ISSUE. YOU WILL LOVE THIS TAVERN AND SO WILL THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY YOU WANT TO IMPRESS."
My steak was great for the price and cooked as requested. The veggies were simple but tasted fresh and the chips cooked to perfection. Only criticism was that the service was a little slow.
Glasshouse Tavern is a great place to hang out for a drink or dinner. We went there on a Monday when also a pub quiz was held. Service is quick, all drinks and food are ordered at the bar. Atmosphere was cosy and chill, everything you'd expect from a local pub. Definitely would recommend swinging by this place if you are in the neighborhood.
SENSATIONAL SUNDAY BREAKFAST and A Five-Star Experience Every Time! I've visited the Glasshouse Tavern numerous times and the staff never cease to impress. They consistently ensure we are delighted with our orders and leave feeling thoroughly satisfied. Tonight, we were served by Piah, who was incredibly helpful and kind, ensuring our pizza arrived on time. A huge thank you to the amazing team at Glasshouse Tavern. We will be back! 🌟🍕👏 Edit - WE CAME BACK FOR SUNDAY BREAKFAST and were not disappointed. They are open on Sundays for breakfast and we had to take away half of it, as the servings were so big. I had the Vegan breakfast, our girl had the breaky burger and her fiancee had the big breakfast. The food is freshly cooked and the coffee is fabulous. Once again, Piah looked after us and the service was again 5-star. Plenty of parking, great food, and wonderful service all day long and they are happy to make you happy. Thank you Piah and staff - you're the best!
We came in with a sizeable group Meals took almost an hour from first out to last out, and we'd ordered one after the other. I ordered first and my meal came out last. We were extremely disappointed with meal sizes after checking online before even picking this venue Hubby ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was thinly sliced and a quarter of regular pub size parmi. I had the lamb rump, I have tiny hands and could of fit three of them in my palm. A bit more than a cup of mash, my tiny lamb chunk, a drizzle of runny gravy and some broccolini. Mind you the chicken and lamb were tasty, unfortunately we left hungry I went to eat hubby's salad and the tomatoes were bad Edit: To mention We won't be calling. The meals were your interview, they were dressed for success Unfortunately, they were just lacking volume Which our group won't be returning to your venue. Thank for trying
Absolutely loved this place! The brisket was tender, smoky, and full of flavor. I was really impressed by how many gluten-free options they had — it made ordering super easy. Great vibe too — relaxed, friendly, and perfect for a night out. Definitely coming back!

We stayed there one night heading north in our motorhome in October this year, we found the owner, Steve very pleasant with some interesting stories, signs saying 5klms an hour which is understandable. Worth a visit.

A peaceful place I love being here and I give Durm its Full Respect to the past present and future Traditional Owners
Seems like a well preserved spot. A special place. I would have liked there to be a bit more information though.
Great place to see first hand a sacred site for the local Gubbi gubbi people. The ring is clearly visible, and a short drive down a dirt road of the main road.
Very special and sacred place of the gubbi gubbi people. Go visit, try to imagine ancestors singing and dancing and having beautiful ceremonys. I would see it while you can, the area is not maintained and will be gone in 100 years or so due to erosion. Heart breaking
Nothing to see here. It’s just a bit of grass.
Lovely being barefoot and still here. Too bad the western part goes into a property so U can't walk around the whole thing.
Remember this is a sacred site. Read the plaque. Understand. Don't enter.
Remember. Respect.
